I know for a lot of us, today is Mother's Day. I don't celebrate Mother's Day, but even so, it is IMPOSSIBLE to go through today without thinking about all the Palestinian mothers who have been murdered The Palestinian mothers who have lost their children to Israel's genocide, funded by the West. The children who have lost their mothers. The Palestinian mothers giving birth without any form of anaesthesia. The Palestinian mothers starving themselves more so that when and if aid gets through their children can hopefully have more rations. The Palestinian mothers who are fighting illnesses and injuries. The Palestinians mother who don't know what they're going to do. Those in Palestine who have had to step up to take on the role of a mother. The Palestinian mothers not getting a chance to take a break or process anything because they have to beg for the world to care, to look, to convince us to give aid and listen so that they can evacuate, so that their families can survive at the very least.
As of Sunday 12th May 2024, Mother's Day, nearly 35,000 Palestinians have been murdered and over 14,500 of those Palestinians are children. This is since October 7th 2023, this does not take into account all the lives lost since the Nakba in 1948. And Israeli Forces are currently carpet bombing the Jabalia Refugee Camp.
Remember these mothers and children. Please do not stop engaging with Palestinians and what their posting, with resources, educating yourselves. Please keep sharing, donating, and going to local rallies, protests, and vigils, keep engaging with Operation Olive Branch, and please keep emailing your government and local representatives!

I’ve not seen anyone say this yet so I feel like I ought to:
even if the ICJ demands that Israel stop their military operations, we still need to keep talking about Palestine. Even if Israel actually fully honours this ruling and stops the siege (something that I, unfortunately, don’t think is very likely) we still need to keep talking about Palestine. Palestine is not free until the occupation ends; Palestine is not free until the illegitimate colonialist-satellite state of Israel is completely wiped off the map, and remembered only in history books for its crimes against humanity and the Arab people. Palestine is not free until it is free, from the river to the sea. Even when this bombardment ends, DO NOT STOP TALKING ABOUT PALESTINE.
If Israel is allowed to exist in its capacity as a settler-colonialist satellite state for the USA, it will commit genocide again. It’s not an if, it’s a when. Israel’s genocidal rhetoric defies humanity, and I fear defies all orders. It exists as an attack dog for the US, and will continue to commit war crimes for as long as it remains.
Heaping the pressure on is vital, at this point, especially if you live in the imperial core. It is our job now to ensure that Israel becomes a pariah state, rejected and sanctioned by the imperialist nations it once worked for. All future weapon shipments must be blocked, all Israeli products boycotted, and our governments made to pay for supporting their genocide. Even when the bombardment stops, continue to cry genocide, and continue to fight for a free Palestine, from the river to the sea.

How is this real!? How is this real. Melissa Jane Kronfeld literally saying she wants to see Al-Asqa Mosque demolished to build a Jewish temple. Immediately before this saying: "It's not about the destruction of Islamic holy sites, it's about preserving this place and being guardians over the house of God for all people."
"So you're happy with it where it is?"
"NO it's going to go 100%. But I believe... "
"It's going to go?"
"Yeah 100% yeah. The whole thing is going to go we have to build a temple."
"When you say that Dome of the Rock has to go MJ, it's hard for me to imagine something more incendiary"
"Let me ask you something. The middle east seems pretty destabilised right now. And the war, if I'm not mistaken, is already here..."
And who do you think is destabilising it? - Spoiler alert! It's the US and Israel.
So she's saying "must be preserved for all people" and that "it's not about demolishing Islamic holy sites" , and then immediately literally then saying it must only be for Zionist Israel, demolishing Al-Asqa Mosque "100%" for a Jewish temple to be built in its place. "For all people", sure.
What more obviously hypocritical, genocidal psychopathic thing is there to say? This is like a comedy skit. How can she say all of those directly opposing things while keeping a straight face, not seeing her own fault here? It's so insane it's laughable and terrifying and absolutely horrifying all at once. SO casually genocidal.
For anyone who hasn't studied history, this is what colonisers do. This is what imperialist colonisers do - they destroy any evidence of a culture that preexists theirs in an attempt to legitimize their claim to the land.
They commit genocide. Cultural genocide. To claim land that isn't theirs as theirs. The pattern is the same throughout history. Israel is following the exact plan used by the British against Ireland, for example.
British imperialist colonisers have done this everywhere, including referring to Australia as 'Terra nullius', aka a land with no people, which was the legal concept used by the British government to justify the settlement, aka brutal Colonisation of Australia. Zionism is no different.
The difference now, culturally, globally is that we can see it coming. Identify it and stop it. We have a connected global community. We have a world court, a UN that can now take measures to stop these things ever happening again. These things didn't exist when the others were happening. We have the power to stop them. Don't let your governments forget that.

Boycott!
Tumblr media
People from the USA, as usual, show that for them people from other countries are worse than them… They can lie that they are fighting colonial history, but then when someone tells them what to do to save another country from colonization, suddenly they don't care. celebrates, showing directly that they are children of colonizers and their DNA is stronger than reason and heart
Now that I have your attention:

The state of Israel, supported by the United States, and the European Union, which are all but a single and historical geopolitical centre of colonialism, imperialism, slavery, capitalism, and whiteness – have long launched unspeakable crimes against humanity in Africa, in the Americanas, in the Australisia, in the Middle East, Asia, in the Pacific Islands, and in Palestine. We feel and live their colonisation today. The response of the colonised to such gruesome crimes therefore must be understood within the context of seeking justice, freedom, and independence from colonisation. When the slaves revolt against their master, the slaves are seeking justice, freedom, and independence. This response can take any means necessary to be realised. Because the violence of the coloniser is displacing, dehumanising, littered with armed episodes of genocide, racial cleansing, land dispossession, rape, torture, and humiliation – the slaves therefore have no other option but to also take up arms and fight for belongs to them, their land, their humanity.

ICJ is a hopeless waste of time and resources. Nothing they decide has ever made any difference. Israel is going to keep doing what it is doing until Netanyahu decides it’s enough (or until the people of Israel kick him and his cronies out.) Or until Iran nukes them. (After which I’m sure the ICJ will issue another opinion telling Iran they shouldn’t have done it and shouldn’t do it again. On pain of a strongly worded letter.)
Hey Anon, how are you? Thanks for sending this in, hope you're having a good weekend.
I'm not sure what you're hoping to get out of this? Especially because I'm not going to disagree with you, the United Nations System acts as a tool of neocolonialism for the interests of global powers, especially the 'Western' ones.
The ICJ (along with other UN bodies) is deeply, deeply flawed and its powers around what is binding and enforceable is often superficial and sham-like. In my post I didn't praise the ICJ, I just tried to factually summarise the findings in a way that would hopefully be accurate and I pointed out that those findings/requests aren't binding, unfortunately Israel does not have to follow any of this. I only mentioned that it's not legally-binding in the last paragraph so I guess I could've made it clearer? I'm sorry if that was unclear to you or anyone else seeing this!
My last paragraph tries to be a bit hopeful just because apparently that's needed to prevent burnout and stop apathy in crises like this. I want people to feel motivated and mobilised to do what they can so we can see a free Palestine in the lifetime of every living Palestinian.
I think there's issues with the humanitarian framework but due to the standing of UN and its image in the West, UNRWA is playing an important role at the moment with Palestinian aid. It's one of the only sources occasionally getting in, and it's the only humanitarian entities linked to Palestine that is getting funding. With an ICJ ruling like this, western governments are more likely to resume, continue or increase UNRWA funding and potentially withdraw funding going towards humanitarian aid in Israeli settlements and 'defence' (we all know it's OFFENSE) funding.
I'm not British, so it could just be how it appears on my timeline and feeds with the time difference but it appears that Britian resumed their previously halted UNRWA funding a few hours after the ICJ ruling came out. It's not an amazing victory but it's something.
I think we both know Netanyahu isn't going to stop anytime soon and what is goal is. And even if a new Prime Minister came into the picture, Israel is a state of terrorism, it is a colonial power and will continue to harm, illegally occupy and murder Palestinians as long as it exists as a state. This has been happening since it's inception.
The ruling isn't a massive victory. But it still carries the political significance of being more political ammunition that can be mobilised for activism for those of us outside of Palestine for putting more pressure on our government's (especially those of us with western governments) to recognise the state of Palestine, withdraw recognition of Israel, increase Palestinian aid funding, place economic and diplomatic sanctions against Israel, demand an immediate and permanent ceasefire, create and approve Palestinian visas etc. For those who can still be optimistic this might be something to help sway some nations and important figureheads. The ruling sends a message out, it's now somewhat on us to try and make this non-binding ruling mean something and place pressure on our governments.
Thanks for sending this in, hope it wasn't too much of a rambled read. have a great weekend.
Free Palestine!

The kind of language used by Natenyahu and the members of his far right government and his citizens about Palestinians and Arabs and Muslims would have been long ago deemed terrorism if said by any other group particularly Muslims or POC and caused international outrage and intervention AND YET Israel is getting away with literal genocide and ethnic cleansing in real time and instead being funded and supported by governments across the globe. The dehumanisation of the Palestinians by the West is jarring. The kind of hatred that can blind and brainwash to this extent is terrifying.

can i verbalise a selfish thought for a moment. dont read the tags if thatll bother you or anything
#what with all this talk of colonisation and whose land what is it does make me wonder about what the bigger voices in these convos would#have to say about my country. like im genuinely curious bc idk how to categorise us at all. context bc i dont expect anyone to know:#the indigenous people of the land i live on were the arawaks & lucayans. however when this land was first colonised they were all genocided#and who are now known as 'bahamians' were brought over on ships. and then somehow we went from the spanish to the english who colonised us#as well. now my worry is purely hypothetical bc we are an independent and sovereign state right so there's no 'threat'#but would we be considered 'indigenous' ? i can't think we would??#but maybe my issue is that i'm looking at this philosophically rather than politically. cause politically we probably would#but while the us-israel-colonisation convo is a political one the stances are philosophical so ??#like (again. hypothetically) if the same thing were to happen here ig i just wonder how we would be dealt with#and then the land ownership convo as well baffles me & it has for a while. since at least 2020 when the whole 'cottagecore is bad' convo#took place with the arguments that the aesthetic romanticised stolen land and i wondered even then like ? are we in the same position??#is the land still considered stolen if the people inhabiting it were displaced themselves?? and didn't steal it??#and moreover if the people it was stolen from no longer exist to take it back?? man idk#im stunningly bad at articulating my own thoughts so if this was a mess im sorry and thanks for making it this far#and also pls tell me if this comes off in the same light as americans making this about their election. i really dont want it to. im just#thinking. i guess idk#stop talking abbie

As much as the West at large (esp the US & UK) vehemently support Israel, this map is factually misleading: Ireland has been vocally against Israel from day 1, Spain has joined up recently, Turkey iirc has banned trade relations with Israel and Japan has never a European colony and was rather a colonising power themselves.
Let's not besmirch the movement with misinformation that downplays the very real resistance present even in the west (especially Ireland, a nation formerly colonised and oppressed by England and still seeing the effects of that today).

"The Third Reich is evil, but so are Poles, because they murder Germans, so there is guilt on both sides"
If the Internet was around during the Holocaust, you would have seen this… Because if you say that "Hamas is evil", when Israel's crimes lasted longer than it existed and it was created as a resistance movement to its crimes, you would have told this to Poles whose country was colonized, and many Poles were sent to concentration camps…
The Third Reich wanted to erase the culture and identity of Poles, Israel wants to erase the culture and identity of Palestinians…
If you think that the fight for independence and against the oppressors is bad, then there is a fucking problem with you, you are no different from those who said that Russia and Ukraine are equally guilty… Fuck you, you piece of shit
