I think the scariest part about Batman is the loyalty he inspires. Like this motherfucker has an army of children who might at any given time hate his guts, but are still 100% willing to throw hands for him if Bruce needs them to. And then there’s the Justice League, who also at any given time might hate his guts or find him insanely irritating and/or weird, but will also fall in line and listen to his plans if the need arises. And that’s like the most intense form of power someone can wield—voluntary obedience from people physically more capable than them.

This could just be because I’m a recluse irl or a prude in some sense or something but I do not like how when I’m out on my gay first dates or hanging with a new group of queer people or whatever how immediately they try to know me without knowing me. Like I don’t want someone saying “you’re so autistic” or like “we all clearly have mommy/daddy issues here since we are at a gay bar” in the first thirty seconds of me meeting them it’s like… so much of that is so personal and sensitive and also why even say something like that to someone who’s name you just learned 😭 I understand an eagerness to be understood and to understand but people need to give things time and understand the value in the things they bring up
