Clary: He broke all my cell phones trying to figure out how they worked.

Alec: He sold his brother's milk horns in the shadow market. It took us 3 years and 10 thousand dollars to recover them.

Jace: He disorganized the library's over 5,000 books into unbreakable code just to annoy me. By him self. IN ONE NIGHT.

Ragnor: He stole my spell books and, I have no idea how, translated them and posted them on every social media site known to the shadow world.

Magnus: My clever little baby, at least you have to give him credit for being persistent.

any thoughts on how Simon and Isabelle will be around their in laws, I know we got to see a bit of it in the later books but would love to hear your thoughts

anon i will take any chance to talk about rebecca lewis <33 yes, i know there are more inlaws in question, and i will get to them, but i have been dying to talk about becky hehe plus there really is so much more to explore on the lewis side--naturally, since neither elaine nor rebecca have interacted with izzy in canon (insane btw).

sidenote: i kinda love how izzy only ever grew up with brothers, but gained a sister through simon (or two really, since we really must count clary, but you know, we're talking technicalities here), and that for simon, it's the opposite.

anyway, speaking of sisters hehe i genuinely think izzy and rebecca would get along well. i think iz would be a good source of.. fun i guess? for becky. like a good reminder to let loose. and i think becky would be a good resource for izzy, someone with a bit more age and wisdom that she can go to, someone who isn't maryse. and it's not like becky would be the only one offering advice. i think izzy would remind her to put herself first sometimes, to chase what she wants and to be kinda.. undeniable i guess. and i think they would laugh together and i think they would go shopping together, despite their very different fashion senses, and i think becky would maybe make some clothes for izzy and i think they would bond over the matching simon-shaped swell in their hearts.

i think becky is a common presence at the sizzy household. movie nights or game nights, or becky-cooked dinners (she might also try train some better cooking instincts into izzy while she's at it hehe), at least for a while until life things happen etc. i also think, and i know this is thinking a decent way further down the line, but i also think she'll be one of their go-to babysitters, since i don't think she'll get settled with her own family until she's in her 30s, and because i just know she'll want to be part of every second of that.

okay okay i think i need to stop talking about rebecca now or i will end up writing a novel..

i think their relationship with elaine is a lot more.. delicate. they don't see her nearly as often. because they can't be honest about the shadow world, for one, but also because i think she still has a little bit of.. not exactly loose canon, but something akin to that, in her. i think she wishes she got to see her son and daughter in law more, but i think there's this underlying anger for izzy any time they go to elaine's place, because even though it was years ago, izzy's first introduction to her personality was still through the lens of her condemning her son and kicking him out of the house at 16. and i also think izzy's seen how that reaction has affected simon, both in the direct aftermath, and in the years after he got his memories back.

i know levi is dead and wouldn't have any sort of relationship with izzy, but i do think simon would have taken her to levi's grave at some point to introduce them anyway. maybe around their wedding?

i really don't feel like there's much to say about the lightwoods that we haven't already seen, or that can't be easily extrapolated, but in spirit of fairness..

jace and simon are very much jace and simon. it's kinda hard to imagine their relationship changing much more than it already has. the comfortability and familiarity between them, the playful jabs, etc. i do think jace has probably begrudgingly gone to simon for a second (or third after clary, ig) opinion on some plans or strategies etc. he's having to make as an institute head. and i definitely think simon has tried to teach jace dnd, and had him over to play video games more than once.

i think simon and alec's relationship goes through more change than what we've been privy to. i think they have their bonding time doing target practice or over coffee after putting the kids to bed. they talk about politics and work and the sda. they also definitely talk about jace being an idiot lol

when it comes to maryse.. bro maryse is so hard for me. their relationship with her would be much closer than that they have with elaine, of course. and i think in maryse's effort to be more present with her family, she also makes a point to have a personal relationship with simon. they don't really have all that much in common, but simon has always seemed like something of a mom charmer to me. he's funny and smart and knows how to be polite. plus he really really cares about izzy. and i think it means a lot to maryse to see that. call it projection or mother's love or a little of both, but it's nice to have that reassurance that her daughter won't have to go through what she did.

Ahhh one character I’m so interesting to find out way more about is Thais Pedroso !!!

So far she seems like she’s going to be a really cool and really good friend to Dru (not to mention there planned to be roommates)

Cassie also described her as “Cassandra Clare describes her as a badass who "doesn't take anything from anyone" and who is a very loyal and good friend.”

I’ll be honest, I can kind of see her being an almost Isabelle Lightwood like character. Obviously she will be her own character with her own experiences but so far I’m kind of getting Isabelle similar vibes compared to any other character!!!

I’m actually so curious about her, we’ve seen snippets of Kit’s friend Anush, but we haven’t seen anything of her! I wonder what her role in the book will be, if she will be a POV character, if she’s going to have a romance with any character we’ve already met!!

I’ll be honest I’m a big weapon fanatic (I just really like swords) so I wonder what kind of weapon she could prefer.

I also wonder what her relationship with Dru will be like. It’s set up they’ll probably be best friends. My only genuine hope is that there friendship doesn’t get side lined (Lucie and Cordelia I will AVENGEEE YOUUUU😭😭😭)

in a parallel world...

Jocelyn runs away with Johnathan after actually witnessing the death of Valentine, he grows up with her and Clary and despite the demon blood he's mostly human and a great brother. They both go to the mortal school and attend the institute. so they're friends with Simon and they know the Lightwoods since ever. Jace was known as Stephen's son and Imogen wants him to grow up in Idris, but when he is 18 he goes to NY and he meets Clary. they immediately fall in love

Simon grows up knowing about the shadow world and he becomes a shadowhunter at 14 so he and Clary can become parabatai when they're young, they were never a couple and he's the biggest fan of Clace. he's in love with Isabelle since he can remember but he's to afraid to admit it, until she's fed up and tells him she feels the same

before Jace's arrival the gang (Simon, Clary, Izzy and Johnathan) was always together and looking for troubles, like every teenager, and they always went to Magnus' parties. Alec always refused to go, but one day his sister calls him to come and pick them up (completely drunk) and he meets Magnus. the rest is history

since Sebastian never existed, neither Andrew Blackthorn nor Emma's parents were killed (because luckily they have a meeting with Andrew THAT morning), so Emma and Julian grow up together in LA, they want to become parabatais but at 14 they realize they're actually in love and they can live they're beautiful love story without any burden

at 18 Mark has to investigate a mistery for the Clave (=the strange deaths Emma investigates in TDA, there's a leak that the Unseelie Court is involved) and he takes part of the Wild Hunt and meets Kieran. they don't become a couple, since Mark is undercover and knows what he can and can't do, but they fall in love anyway. once Mark goes back to LA, after what he thinks it's been 6 months, it's actually 3 years (nobody looked for him because how different the time flows), he meets Cristina, there for her year abroad. Kieran runs away from the Wild Hunt for Mark, but he's protected from the Unseelie King and the Wild Hunt because he helped solving the mistery. again, the rest is history

Ok Halloween headcanons time (TMI)

The whole "The mortal instruments" gang loves Tim Burton's films and at Halloween they all watch something together while dressing up. Jace and Clary do Jack and Sally, Simon does Victor and Isabelle does Emily. Magnus probably made the costumes and plays Emily with Izzy💅🏼

Alec Jace and Izzy discovered Tim Burton cause Magnus Clary and Simon loved his films

of course they do matching costumes

Magnus buys candies for kids

Izzy and Simon walk all over New York holding hands the whole freaking time

Jace scares the kids

Clary face panits the kids (and Simon too)

Clary takes Jace in all the shops she can find buying lots of Halloween decorations and Jace seems not interested but he actually loves decorating with his girlfriend

Jace probably random cits Jack Skellington and Victor when he wants to say something romantic to Clary

And Clary as a good fangirl as she's, responds with something that Victoria or Emily or Sally says

Simon is a fan of old horror films and they all watch it together. Jace doesn't get scared and comments everything till Magnus get pissed by him and throws a duck at Jace. Alec says he's not afraid and critics the charactes but screams when a spider appears and then sits like nothing happened. Isabelle probably insult the girls and Clary talks about the dresses design, so Simon gets bored by them and turns off the TV cause they are ruining his favorite movies.

dude i would love to see sizzy with a black cat specifically. why? great question.. maybe it has something to do with their reputation being so different from their actual demeanor. or maybe something about them being ostracized. or maybe something about their mythical, magical ties .. plus, we don't have a black cat in tsc?? which should be remedied tbh

idk how much longer yossarian will last, but i think it would make sense for simon to leave him with his mom, even though he is technically simon's, just bc he already left him there for two years while he was at the academy, and i think he'd feel bad taking his mom's last companion yk? and i can see him missing having a cat around.

while izzy was fond of church, i don't think she'd view it as such a priority herself, but when simon suggests getting a cat, she's all for it hehe or maybe she even gets one for him as a present <3

also, along the lines of us never having a black cat.. we've also never had a girl cat?? so maybe they get a girl cat, and maybe they name their little princess amidala or something hehe

honestly they'd probably get more than one cat too. idk why but i can just see them adopting another a couple years after they get the first. hashtag parenting practice.

oh and when they do have kids, and simon does his lil kid dnd campaigns with them, he always includes the cats in the adventure somehow.

Alec sneaking into the New York Shadowmarket to get a break from the institut

Alec and Izzy never going to Idris in their youth because their parents were in the circle

Alec and Izzy being avoided by other Shadowhunter children and never knowing why

They are so excited when Jace joins them because finally they have a new friend

Jace being by both Alec and Izzy about Idris because they haven't been there despite everyone their age having visited their home country by their age

Jace being unable to answer these questions because he was raised by an abusive asshole who wouldn't let him leave the house

Jace and Izzy going to downworlder clubs to socialise because they have no friends

The Lightwood siblings being so isolated from other shadowhunter their age that they come off as weird

The siblings being so angry when they find out about their parents involvement in the circle because suddenly a lot about their upbringing makes sense
