I had a crazy thought.

That last bit was unintentional and came out of nowhere. But there it was.

I laughed it off. Me, the next Neil Gaiman? But with no troubling personal secrets. Ha. Sure. Easy. I'll get right on it.

I had the thought again while I drove to my sister's place last weekend across state lines. Road trips are great for contemplation.

when u go to write a mentally ill person in ur story you are presented two options. the first option is to write your mental illness realistically as you actually experience it with all the ups and downs and people who are like you will resonate with it and feel seen. except every person who reads instagram infographics on mental health that uses the phrase narcicisst for anyone who does anything that crosses them and unironically call themself a dark empath will call you scary and tell you that youre demonizing mentally ill people

"Wild Hearts" - Continuing to think in linocut terms and imagining if I had access to silver and gold inks as well. Things like this would have to be REAL big. I find carving relaxing when all the artistic decisions are already made. I wonder if the local arts place would ever have a printmaking class that could walk me through their presses or printing technique...I can carve the blocks themselves just fine.
