Lets start by looking up the organization that made this graphic, "Marriage Pact" on Wikipedia:
The Marriage Pact is an annual matchmaking activity that takes place on American college campuses, by which students fill out compatibility surveys in order to find a partner among fellow participants, who they agree will be their backup "safety" spouse in the future in case they are then unmarried.
Alright, so we can now analyze a motive, this organization probably has an interest in making it look like dating as a concept is breaking down, offering their services as a replacement.
Next, lets look at the actual data, luckily they included a source of their data and the beauty of science is that we can just look up that source.
Alright, having looked up the source, it appears this is wrongly cited but I found M. J. Rosenfeld's Website which includes this version of the graph (i dont have time to comb through all this data so I will assume this is a decent representation)
First thing we might notice is that meeting people in bars and restaurants actually went up, not down. This is explained through Marriage Pact having cleaned the data, as they say in the subscript.
Overall, we can still see that meeting online is eclipsing other forms of meeting partners. Now comes the question: Does this actually show "the gradual loss of all community in modern society"?
Since this is all based on the source of Rosenfeld's paper, lets read it (but actually you are not going to read it so I will read it and summarize it to the best of my ability (I am a computer science student, so I am not familiar with the field but know how to read a paper)).
First of all, this paper is concerned with dating through friends and family vs dating through matchmaking, for this purpose it presents two Hypotheses to explain this rise in online dating: 1. Friends and Family still mediate dating, but online through Facebook and such. 2. Friends and Family are not mediating dating online and its rather corporations and matchmaking services (which, fun fact, could very well include "Marriage Pact" meaning they could use this data to present themselves as "the future of dating").
Having read the paper, hypothesis 2 seems to be much more likely, for a variety of reasons. Id like to present you with this paragraph from the discussion of the paper:
The apparent displacement of meeting through friends by meeting online suggests a process of technologyâdriven disintermediation. Individuals used to need personal intermediaries, usually friends or family members, to introduce them to new people. Now that the Internet makes a large choice set of potential partners available, the intermediation of friends and family is relied upon less. The role of family as matchmaker had been already in decline for most of the late 20th century, as later age at first marriage and the independence of young adults has removed dating and matchmaking from the oversight of parents (Rosenfeld 2007).
The paper identifies some important factors in preferring to date online compared to date in ways mediated through friends and family:
Dating through friends and family requires your friends and family to know your dating preferences and your potential partners, which you might not want
Dating a "perfect stranger" gives some discretion compared to dating a friends friend
Dating online inherently adds a layer of personal safety. If it turns out your potential date is a creep or just an asshole, you can block them and never hear from them again, compared to someone you meet through a friend, who is decently close to you in your social network, making them hard to avoid if you prefer not to date them
e-Dating platforms have more accurate and up-to-date information. Humorous example: Your mom tells you about this guy who is really into computers, just like you! She arranges a date and now you, a retrocomputing enthusiast, are sitting across the restaurant table from a developer of high-speed trading algorithms who helped your mom set up a printer 2 years ago.
e-Dating platforms have more people. Your friend might know 20 people decently well, meanwhile there is millions of users of the dating app you are using
Conclusion
looking at all this information about the study and its results, as well as the factors the paper identifies, I dont think this study shows the "gradual loss of all community in modern society" and the graph shows that even less. Most social contact is not dating and this study specifically focuses on dating, with the paper explaining reasons for wanting to date online that dont apply to other forms of socializing all that much (although they still do of course).
Is there a "gradual loss of all community in modern society"? I dont fucking know, what am I, a sociologist? But I can tell you that if there is, this graph isnt sufficient evidence for it

Kind of adding on to my previous analysis bit about Davrin's arc, but I'm gonna say I'm concerned about media literacy within the DA fandom if Davrin's arc was hard to comprehend for people.
A little rant-like so I'm putting this under the cut:
VG has a strong and consistent narration that is mirrored or reflected within each companion's quest line: it's all about the bigger picture of personal choices and regrets and change and the inevitability of alteration and the need to live with the consequences â it is also somewhat about mortality and carpe diem. Pretty much every companion's line has something to do with death, coping, trauma, fear, and a big and important personal choice that would alter them as a person â it's always a "neither is better" choice and it calls upon your personal judgement to be made. There's room for criticizing the necessity of the black-and-white nature of some choices (i.e. Taash's culture question, for example) but overall they all have a consistent and equally important narrative line.
Claims that Davrin's arc is about Assan are actually hilarious. I assume people saying that have never in their life encountered a story where the main character had an animal companion, or just less sentient companion, that reflected their personality or some of their inner conflict. You know, the staple Disney/fantasy trope. This is an incredibly common narrative tool, it's bizarre to me that people saw that Assan has a lot of screen time and immediately assumed it's no longer about Davrin just because of that. I guess I could say it's not particularly shocking to me that DA fandom of all places had an issue of keeping their focus on a Black man's story. Moving on.
As for the claims that Davrin's arc is about Isseya, I'm a little shocked that was even a talking point. Because just as "animal companion reflecting the character's struggle" is a narrative tool that's up there among the ten most frequently used in media, "antagonist that reflects the main character's pathway in an inverted, perverted manner" is just as frequently applied. In fact, it's concerning that people missed Davrin vs. Isseya mirroring in the game based around the concept of recognition through the other and mirrors of self (Solas vs. Rook). I think it's safe to say that if someone did not catch anything about Davrin's arc and how it's entirely about him, I don't trust their general opinion on DATV overall. Because they're fucking stupid/didn't pay attention.
I don't think it's any surprise that at certain points VG gets a little too exposition-heavy, because apparently just giving people a good storyline with consistent and repetitive narrative that breaches the same narrative points but reflects it differently depending on the character it's about is not enough? Some people will be given the most direct mirror narration there could be without spoon-feeding it and they will still miss the whole fucking point? I'm not shocked that a large bit of "criticism" on VG writing/narrative/what was kept and what was omitted from being mentioned has been genuinely shit. And has consistently offered "fixtures" that would just make the stable narrative of VG a mess without a main theme.
Anyways, Davrin's storyline is very directly about him in every aspect mentioned; every person within his story reflects back on him and fleshes him out.
#đ#đŽ#Narrative analysis is my professional field you can't convince me VG has bad narrative. But damn if people missed Davrin's narrative route?#That's genuinely a lost cause bc it's so in you face.#dragon age#datv#datv spoilers#dragon age veilguard#fandom critical#I'm not putting it in Dav's tags you guys deserve to have a good time

helloo there!!âĄ, I really love the way you write. I'm wondering what it would be like if sae, rin, kaiser, have a gf who is a cosplayer, tyyâĄ!
Hiii dear!! Have a nice read and thank youuu^^
Rin Itoshi
Rin had come home early from practice. As soon as he opened the door he heard strange noises coming from the living room. When he walked in he found you sitting on the floor trying to shape a large piece of cardboard. The room was a mess with hot glue guns paints fabric scraps and oddly shaped foam pieces scattered everywhere
âWhat are you doing?â Rin asked with a curious expression. You looked up at him. With a smudge of paint on your face and messy hair you smiled brightly. âIâm working on a new cosplay. This is going to be a piece of armorâ you said holding up the cardboard. Rin raised an eyebrow. âArmor? That thing needs a lot of work before it even looks like armor.â
âDonât tease me!â you retorted. âThis is just the base layer. It still needs painting hardening and detailing. Rin chuckled. âAlright alright. But why does the entire house look like a battlefield? Do you even know what youâre doing?â
Though you looked a bit offended you could tell Rin was getting interested. âI watched some YouTube videos and read a few guides. Itâs a bit challenging but Iâm learning. Plus itâs funâ
Rin sat down next to you and picked up the piece of cardboard you were working on. âIf youâre going to put in this much effort at least do it properly. You need to cut this cleanly with a craft knifeâ he said grabbing a knife and showing you how to do it
After that day Rin couldnât help but get involved in your project. Sometimes heâd point out mistakes saying âYouâre doing it wrongâ and other times heâd grab a paintbrush to help you add finishing touches
When the cosplay was finally ready you put it on and showed Rin the completed look. As you posed excitedly you noticed the surprised look on his face. âAlrightâ he said after a moment âI thought it was silly at first but⌠it actually looks really goodâ
âReally?â you asked your eyes sparkling with hope. Rin shrugged. âMaybe. But after all that effort I guess I canât say anything against it.â At the convention your armor caught everyoneâs attention. People stopped you to take pictures and compliment your work. Rin stood a step behind you a small smile on his face keeping an eye on the crowd to make sure no one crossed any boundaries
Sae Itoshi
when you first mentioned your passion for cosplay he didnât think much of it. âCosplay? You mean dressing up as fictional characters?â he asked one day his tone calm but slightly curious âExactly!â you replied with excitement. âItâs a lot more than just dressing up though. I design the outfits build props and sometimes even compete. Itâs a hobby but it means a lot to meâ
Sae gave a small nod. âIf itâs important to you thatâs fine. Just donât expect me to dress upâ You laughed at his response knowing it was his way of acknowledging your interests without diving too deeply
A few weeks later you were preparing for a convention. Your living room was a workshop with fabric glue guns and foam scattered everywhere. Sae walked in and paused his sharp gaze taking in the scene âYouâve been at this for hoursâ he commented setting his bag down
âYupâ you said not even looking up from the detailed painting you were doing on a prop. âThe convention is in two days and I want this to be perfectâ Sae sighed softly walking closer. âDoes it really need to be this detailed? No oneâs going to notice if itâs off by a littleâ
You shot him a playful glare. âOh theyâll notice. Trust me cosplayers have an eye for detailâ He didnât reply but leaned down to pick up one of the finished pieces. âItâs impressiveâ he admitted after a moment. âI didnât realize you made all of this yourselfâ
The day of the convention Sae offered to drive you there. As you stepped out of the car in your fully completed costume he couldnât help but let his eyes linger for a moment. You looked stunning the outfit perfectly capturing the character you were portraying âYouâre really into this arenât you?â he said his voice softer than usual âI amâ you replied with a bright smile. âAnd I love itâ
At the convention Sae stayed in the background watching as people approached you for photos and compliments. He observed the way your face lit up every time someone admired your work. Despite his usual stoic demeanor he felt a subtle sense of pride
Later as you both sat down to eat he spoke up. âYouâre talented. I donât think I could have the patience to do something like thatâ You grinned. âComing from you thatâs a big compliment.â Sae smirked faintly. âDonât let it go to your headâ
Kaiser Michael
âYou dress up as fictional characters and make all this stuff yourself?â he asked, spinning one of your half-finished props in his hand like it was a trophy.âYes, Michaelâ you replied, rolling your eyes at his tone. âItâs not just dressing up. Itâs crafting, designing, and bringing something I love to life. And no, you canât break that it took hours to makeâ
Kaiser smirked and placed the prop back carefully. âRelax. Iâm just admiring your⌠creativityâ A few days later, he strolled into the room while you were sewing fabric for your next costume. His golden hair was slightly tousled, and he leaned casually against the doorway, watching you work. âSo, whenâs this big event of yours?â
âThis weekendâ you answered, not looking up from your work âPerfect. Iâll clear my scheduleâ he said with a grin. You looked up at him, surprised. âYouâre coming?â
âOf courseâ he said as if it were obvious. âI have to see how good you are at this. Besides, youâll need someone to make sure your fans donât get too closeâ
The day of the convention, Kaiser arrived in style, dressed impeccably as always. When he saw you in your finished cosplay, his usual cocky smirk shifted into something softer. âIâll admitâ he said, circling you like a critic. âYou look incredible. Almost as good as meâ âAlmost?â you teased, raising an eyebrow âFineâ he said with a mock dramatic sigh. âYou look better than me for nowâ
At the convention, Kaiser stayed by your side, his presence impossible to ignore. People stared as much at him as they did at you, but he didnât seem to mind. Whenever someone asked for a photo with you, heâd step aside, arms crossed, observing like he was the one managing your image
âYou knowâ he whispered at one point as you posed for a group shot. âYou shouldâve told me earlier. Iâd have joined you in costume. Imagine us as a power duo unstoppableâ You laughed, shaking your head. âThis is my thing, Michael. You already have footballâ
âBut youâre my girlfriendâ he said with a wink. âThat makes everything you do my thing tooâ By the end of the day, you were exhausted but happy. Kaiser drove you home, still talking about how âyou stole the showâ and how âeveryone was lucky to witness your brillianceâ
Enjoy!

"How do I make blinkies?"
are you excited???are you??? i am!! blinkies were actually the first graphic type i learnt to make back in.. uhh.. 2021..? i think. anyway, im glad i get to enlighten the masses on how to make these ancient decors~
â TL:DR~
import layers below in the order they're given
decorate blinkie however you'd like
export frame 1, switch colours on the blinkie..blinkers..??
export frame 2
put together in ezgif
use on rentry!
did you get that? no? makes sense, it's difficult to reduce blinkies down to such a simple step by step tutorial.. anyway, read below :3c
â what's a blinkie??
.. if you've read the other tutorials, you know what im gonna say next. say it with me now: "they're a form of self expression!" pfft, seriously though, blinkies are by far one of the oldest and well-known forms of web decor. even if someone doesn't know what they're called, if you show 'em one it's almost guaranteed that they'll have seen one out in the wild before.
they're also one of the most extensively decorated web decor of all time. shiny buttons can be somewhat personalised, userboxes can showcase some stuff about yourself, but when it comes to blinkies, there really are endless possibilities for what you can do with them!
..
..
what? stamps?? i mean, yeah, they're kinda personalisable, but shh.. they aren't important here ;;
anyway, like i was saying, the possibilities when decorating them are seriously extensive, but im only gonna cover the absolute basics here. after this masterclass in blinkie essentials, you too can fly free and create your own special decor!
â the layers~
as always, here are the layers:
import the bottom layer, and add the other three to your canvas! well, other two.. the second layer is optional, since the colour palettes i use r kinda difficult i just add it to make stuff easier. but anyways, onto the next step
â DECORATING!! â
[PT: decorating]
okay, so when it comes to blinkies there are no set rules for decorating, technically it doesn't even need to "blink" to be considered a blinkie. it's best to envision your end goal before you get started, unless you have aphantasia in which case.. you aren't really gonna struggle much, blinkies rarely turn out how you envision them anyways.
for this tutorial, im going to make a nagito komaeda themed blinkie. i find that for blinkies with imported graphics, it's better to figure out their placements before anything else, and to then work backwards to figure out the colours.
like that! i like to put whatever graphics i use at the front of everything else so that it pops out, but tbh you can put them wherever you'd like.. well, you probably shouldn't put them behind the bottom layer, but anything else is free game!
to choose colours, you only need to understand the pure basics of colour theory. yellow goes with purple, green goes with blue and purple, red goes with blue.. etc, etc. but ya know, colourpicking based on which colours are used in your imported image is usually the best way to go about it when you're just getting started.
once you have your colours, the next thing to do is to add words. usually i have a common font i use for my decor, but the beauty of blinkies is that they're typically big enough to handle a very large expanse of fonts..
so i guess what im saying is,
go absolutely nuts!!!!!!!!
[pt: go absolutely nuts!]
now that you've designed your blinkie, the next part is...
â making it into a gif~
this is... srsly not as daunting as it sounds. you need to save your current blinkie as a png (keep the editable file open!!!!!), and then proceed to switch the colours on the outer, uhh, blinkers (is that what they're called.. blinkers..??)
to do this, we'll be utilising the clipping tool. this will allow us to change the colour of the layers without spending 5 minutes each time going around the canvas with a bucket tool. on ibis, create a new layer atop one of your blinker layers, and at the bottom of the screen near the lovely opacity bar, there should be a big black button with an arrow curved downward. that is the clipping tool.
on photopea, you just need to create a new layer above your blinker, then head to the layer tab up at the top of the screen and click "clipping mask." for anything else.. i have no clue, srry!
but anyway, all you need to do is switch the colours between the two layers!
like so! and now that you have these two layers, you need to head to ezgif's gif maker and import them together. after that, it's smooth sailing! just click the "make a gif" button and you'll get this:
you can make it faster or slower by changing the delay time. a higher number makes the frames switch slower, and a lower number.. does the exact opposite! and......
congratulations !! đđ
[pt: congratulations!]
you have now successfully made a blinkie, and as time goes on you'll find newer and greater ways to personalise them! oh, but if you do make blinkies, remember to tag them with the appropriate warnings (eyestrain, flicker, flash etc.) otherwise you could do some serious harm..!!
this has been another tutorial by me, thank you for reading and i hope it helped you in some way! if it didn't, then my askbox is always open for further questions ďź=´âď˝=ďź
okay, nyan-nya out--meow meow~

if you think sex is gross/disgusting, thatâs fine. if you have a boundary of not wanting to hear about sex or sexuality, and you enforce that boundary, thatâs fine. if you externalise that disgust and try to weaponise it against people who arenât doing anything harmful, and are just having safe consensual sex outside of the view of anyone who doesnât want to see or wearing kink gear in public or other stuff that does not actually harm you, THAT is when it is a problem. and the people who actually weaponise their disgust and sex negativity against queer people, kinksters, and other Sexual Deviants⢠who arenât hurting anyone, by and large, are not sex-repulsed asexuals, bc sex-repulsed asexuals generally understand that their repulsion isnât other peopleâs problem, and they have to take steps to be comfortable, without infringing on other peopleâs autonomy.
it is vitally important that we remember that sex positivity and sexual liberation inherently includes asexual liberation and respect for ALL asexuals, whether they are sex favorable, neutral, or repulsed, and regardless of whether or not they choose to have sex, and the reasons why they do or do not do that. as an alloaro i feel extra strongly about this since the aro and ace communities are intrinsically linked, including alloromantic aces and allosexual aros. we ALL should benefit from sex positivity bc the point is to not police other peopleâs sexualities/sex lives, and that inherently includes an absence of sexuality or sex life.
your feelings on sex (or anything, really, but thatâs besides the point) are irrelevant to your morality. it is your actions that matter, and it only matters in a negative way if youâre hurting someone. sex-repulsed aces are not hurting anyone. sex negative conservatives are the ones hurting people, and whether or not those conservatives enjoy or have sex doesnât stop them from being sex negative. also, they hate aces too, so⌠maybe some people should pull their heads out of their asses and unlearn aphobia. ever heard of solidarity, folks? ffs
maybe you guys need to learn the difference between sex-repulsed asexuals and sex-negative conservatives. because im getting real sick of reading unnecessarily vaguely worded posts that sound borderline aphobic
"if you think sex is gross/disgusting, you're a horrible person" sorry but that's actually a valid ace identity. try again :)
"if you shame other consenting adults for having sex because you think it's a sin, you're a horrible person" ok NOW we're getting somewhere

What are some things Harry didn't share with Ron and Hermione? Like he never shared what he saw in snapes memory in OotP
His treatment at the Dursleys. Like, they know some of it, but I don't think they know all of it.
He mentions offhandedly stuff about his childhood:
âOh, this doesnât count,â said Ron. âWeâre only borrowing this. Itâs Dadâs, we didnât enchant it. But doing magic in front of those Muggles you live with â â âI told you, I didnât â but itâll take too long to explain now â look, can you tell them at Hogwarts that the Dursleys have locked me up and wonât let me come back, and obviously I canât magic myself out, because the Ministryâll think thatâs the second spell Iâve done in three days, so â â âStop gibbering,â said Ron. âWeâve come to take you home with us.â
(CoS)
He asks them for food when the Dursleys go on diet:
But Aunt Petunia didnât know what was hidden under the loose floorboard upstairs. She had no idea that Harry was not following the diet at all. The moment he had got wind of the fact that he was expected to survive the summer on carrot sticks, Harry had sent Hedwig to his friends with pleas for help, and they had risen to the occasion magnificently. Hedwig had returned from Hermioneâs house with a large box stuffed full of sugar-free snacks. (Hermioneâs parents were dentists.) Hagrid, the Hogwarts gamekeeper, had obliged with a sack full of his own homemade rock cakes. (Harry hadnât touched these; he had had too much experience of Hagridâs cooking.) Mrs. Weasley, however, had sent the family owl, Errol, with an enormous fruitcake and assorted meat pies. Poor Errol, who was elderly and feeble, had needed a full five days to recover from the journey. And then on Harryâs birthday (which the Dursleys had completely ignored) he had received four superb birthday cakes, one each from Ron, Hermione, Hagrid, and Sirius. Harry still had two of them left, and so, looking forward to a real breakfast when he got back upstairs, he ate his grapefruit without complaint.
(GoF)
He jokes about being beat as a kid:
âYou donât seem to need many qualifications to liaise with Muggles... All they want is an O.W.L. in Muggle Studies... âMuch more important is your enthusiasm, patience, and a good sense of funâ âYouâd need more than a good sense of fun to liaise with my uncle,â said Harry darkly. âGood sense of when to duck, more like ...â
(OotP)
But he never mentions the cupboard. He never mentions just how bad it actually was. The bits Ron and Hermione know about Harry's abuse are the lighter ones. They know about the diet, they know he was being starved, locked up, and beaten, but they don't have all the details and I think Harry never really told anyone all the details. They don't know how long harry was starved and beaten. How much. They don't know Harry spent years sleeping in the cupboard under the stairs befriending spiders. They don't know he cooked and cleaned from a young age.
So, I'd say, Harry's childhood abuse is one thing he never fully shared with anyone all the details of.

The Odyssey thing happening on Twitter is so bizarre bc it's largely
a. British people who've never read/heard of it
b. who got mad at people getting mad at them for it
c. and who? Decided to blame Americans?
There's a minority who seem to think The Odyssey is an American book, but most just imply it's only a thing taught in American schools bc they never learned it in Britain, declaring "America forgets other countries exist", about...teaching a book from Ancient Greece in schools...?
Like yeah we did a whole unit on the Odyssey and Greek mythology at my American school but the odds that it's American Only are zero. This is the apex of trying to find a reason an inane opinion you hold is actually righteous. British people justifying not reading an Ancient Greek poem by pointing to Americans and going "oh, you think the world revolves around you?" It's maybe the most taught text that's not a sacred text or Shakespeare. If British schools no longer teach it - which may be the case, based on what I've read - then it's likely the only country that doesn't. Like we're not out here demanding people in other countries know what A Separate Peace is, it's? The Odyssey?
All of them mention a list of Important Books people should know, and they name Macbeth and something called An Inspector Calls, and they wonder why Americans don't know that, and true to that I've never heard of it, so I look it up and Wikipedia tells me it's mainly notable for being in a GCSE course. Guy who only did his high school English reading complains about being expected to know a second book

"mikey way
"me and gerard, we're the best friends in the world"
Once again, we meet Mikey Way. But this time this guy talks soooooo much. Hi hi hi! Never thought Mikey could be this chatty!
Long coat and black jeans, that's the outfit worn by Mikey Way when he met W at the Malia Hotel, Thursday afternoon, January 31, 2008. Wow, he looked really neat. But when watching MCR's concert a few hours later, it turned out that Mikey was also wearing the same costume, he he he. It's very clear that his long coat and all-black jeans are not just a style but an important part of his identity.
Anyway⌠Mikey looked relaxed as he shook hands with W. As a small talk, W of course asked him what he thought about Jakarta. He answered honestly. "So far, great. But I haven't been here long. Only 12 hours, only half a day. So, you know." He said as he took a large white plastic cup of coffee from the table in front of him. His hands looked a little shaky.
Gosh, Mikey, the conversation has become so serious, huh, he he he. W reminds me that the name My Chemical Romance was taken from one of the books Mikey read when he was still working at Barnes & Noble bookstore, namely Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance by Irvine Welsh. mentioned by Mikey, here. Wow, it seems so funny to imagine Mikey being a bookworm, huh? Apart from Gerard being the vocalist and frontman of My Chem, he is still Mikey's 'big brother'. So, let's just start asking about Gerard, shall we?
Mmm, maybe we can start with a question that's not too direct, huhâŚ
What's the most annoying thing about Gerard?
"Him? There's nothing bad about him. Even if there's something annoying, it makes me love him even more. Ha ha. Even if there's something bad about him, it's endearing. Gera is a very talented and admirable individual."
What is the annoying side of you in Gerard's eyes?
"Me? Well, I don't know. Ha ha. Maybe you guys better ask Gerard directly, haha ââha."
Have you two ever fought?
"We have. It's natural. But not too often. In a few years maybe."
Can you tell us a little bit about how you and Gerard are actually brothers? what kind?
"We're the best friends in the world. We always hang out together. We always talk. Especially when we're on tour, we always share a room in a hotel. only once we fought, ha ha ha. We barely fight."
Do you still have time to read a book?
"Yes, I still am. Right now I'm reading Needful Things by Stephen King. This is actually my second time reading it, he he he."
Wow, you really like horror stories, huh?
"Ha ha ha, yes. I like horror novels and also horror movies. Stephen King is a great horror writer. Many of his books are horror themed. I really like Stephen King."
From early on, it seemed like Gerard did most of the talking.
"I only talk when necessary. Not only me, Frank, Bob and Ray have also. But more often than not we have to take care of our own musical instruments, so we leave that responsibility to Gerard, he he he."
Totally agree, Mikey Unfortunately, Gerard isn't there, hu hu hu!
On stage, Gerard is the same. Have you ever joined in the conversation with the audience?
"Well, yes sure. I have."
Anyway, really happy to chat with you. Lately, MCR has been using piano players a lot at concerts, huh?
"We do everything like other big bands do."
Are there plans to make James Dewees a permanent member of MCR?
Oh, James. He's already become My Chem family member since ama. Even though he is not a member of MCR, he is our friend. We have also known him for a long time. Besides, we like the sound of our concert piano. So, we keep using it.
Why, the hell, is the sound of the piano so important to MCR?
"Piano is the basis for all music. Since we know a cool piano player like James Dewees, we might as well include him in the line-up. Unfortunately, James is currently at sound check, so he can't be here."
My Chem, that's how Mikey shortens the name My Chemical Romance. Frankly, W also knows nothing, he he he. When asked when My Chem (yikes, I'm following Mikey) will release a new album, Mikey said it would be around early or mid 2009. Wow, that's still quite a long time away, huh. When W asked about My Chem's three previous albums, this guy remained enthusiastic, cas cis cus.(?)
Tell us about the metamorphosis from the first to the third albumâŚ
"Sure sure"
Album: Bullets
"We were still very young. We were in our early 20s and we had only been in the band for about 10 months. Every song that was created at that time was indeed in accordance with our condition at that time. If you listen to it, you will definitely feel the nuances of My Chem now. The songs on the first album are like 'the younger brother of The Black Parade,
Is the creative process different?
"Let's see⌠The first album, / was really green, he he he. Gerard was also very young. We felt more spontaneous. The second album, Three Cheers⌠was more mature, more aggressive. The longer it went on, the clearer it became in The Black Parade. The difference was probably with the presence of Bob on drums. He is one of the phenomenal drummers. Many people say so. Because of Bob, The Black Parade seemed touching on many musical genres."
What if someone says that The Black Parade sounds smoother than previous albums?
"Technically, yes. The first album was made in the basement. The sound was rough. But eventually we had a bigger studio and had more time to prepare the material."

sometimes, I like to imagine the brothers actually being shown as important to the governmental system in the devildom.
like, yeah we know theyâre lords and stuff, and obviously we know that a few of them have some important titles, like Levi being in charge of the navy, but like, what if they were all important??
like, I could imagine Beel being talked to about food production/harvest. maybe heâs not directly in contact with any food ofc, but I feel like heâd be the best to go to about amounts of food and maybe harvest problems, he IS an insect(I think cicada?) so I feel like heâd know a thing or two, imagine him catching an issue with the soil being used to grow a lot of the devildoms food!
And then mams playing a part in finance. which.. prolly sounds silly but hear me out:
yes, heâs in debt, clearly, however whatâs something he likes to do??? Count money!! So I could see him doing the math, counting, ect. And being able to spot if thereâs something wrong or if something should be changed, and since ofc he cares about cash it would prolly be one of the things he ACTUALLY locks in for. (even though heâs horrible at school, thereâs no way he ISNT good at math, idc whatâs canon you need math when it comes to money. Also I think it would be insanely funny if he was in a bunch of honors classes for math when heâs still in the starting course for history and junk.) ((yall can tell me how wrong this hc is however I shall not be moved!!))
and I could imagine asmo maybe handling the affairs of sucubi?? And possibly other creatures that travel to and from the human realm for⌠yk those purposes. He could probably have some part in giving certain people permission to travel up, and possibly travel to the human realm in general! Like if you have any reason at all to go up there you gotta run it past him first.
now with s8n⌠hear me out. he keeps track of history, he reads documents that are to be published in devildom history books, and he will make SURE only facts will be included, no opinions or rumors or lies. And if he catches something at all either in a WIP document or something thatâs already been published, you know it WILL be changed because no one wants to face his wrath.
And ect. Ect. And yk, theyâre probably actually respected throughout the devildom. Even if some citizens donât like them for being angels, thereâs no way you WOULDNT pretend to have respect(and maybe a bit of fear) for the people who are basically besties with the future king. Yk? Honestly, I DO love the whole school thing, itâs a familiar trope and it gives more room for things to happen, but you CANT give people titles and statusâs like them and NOT utilize it???
also I wanted to add belphie⌠but I couldnât think of anything for him that heâd actually be willing to do?? The only thing I could think of for him would be like.. similar to asmo? Like he handles hauntings? Since thereâs a large amount of demons that do their work via dreams and during the night. So heâs kind of like an HR..? But like.. DR instead? But I really donât think heâd gaf about any of that, since yk.. he still kinda hates humans so why would he care if a bunch of demons were haunting&killing them??
Maybe he has an important job, but poor Luci just has to always do it for him since belphie canât stay awake to save his life.
#obey me#obey me mc#obey me mammon#obey me asmodeus#obey me leviathan#obey me lucifer#obey me beelzebub#obey me belphegor#obey me satan#obey me one master to rule them all#obey me imagines#obey me headcanons#obey me hcs#obey me ideas#Idk I just want the boys to be important:(#..bc they literally are..#Also it would make mephisto hating luci extra funny since luci would be MUCH more important them him#That feels mean#However my brain imagines it like#A bug tryna fight a hawk#It just wonât work dawg

So, you've been sent bait: A Guide for Internet Posters and Readers
Disclaimer: I am simply an autistic internet poster with a special interest in human interaction, abuse patterns, and internet culture. I am not a scholar and I do not have a degree in these things. While I have done research into the topics of cancellation, online abuse, and harassment, I am far from an expert.
Introduction:
I've seen this happen dozens of times before. A semi popular blogger will suddenly seem embroiled in a controversial topic, receiving harassment and accusations of some pretty terrible things. It goes on for about 24-72 hours, and then poof, it seems to be completely over, (however, of course, it can be brought up again without warning.) This can be emotionally damaging for the blogger, for the supporters of that blogger, and for the shock waves it will undoubtedly send into the greater community. This also further spreads discourse and popularizes harmful ideologies to people who might have previously never heard of them. The targets are almost always trans women, (with transmisogyny doing most of the cancellation legwork) and it seems to always have the goal of turning fellow trans people against the target. (Though, of course, I've seen this done with autistic creators, nonbinary creators, ect. Trans women are just the most popular target.)
Now, the goal of this guide is to help people understand how this happens, be able to recognize the patterns of a targeted harassment campaign, and be able to try and prevent it in the future. I'll be writing this as a guide to the target, however, I think it's important for lurkers/readers to also be able to recognize these patterns so they too can avoid being manipulated into falling into these pitfalls. A large portion of this harassment initiative is to use "useful idiots" in order to do most of the legwork. As a reader, you must avoid becoming a useful idiot, (which I'll be referring to as fools from now on) and you must be able to tell when other people are being used in this manner as well. This is the most effective way to protect people from unwarranted harassment campaigns.
Section 1: Bait
Types of Bait:
You've been sent bait, but you aren't sure if it is actually bait, or a genuine question from a fan. You don't want to ignore someone's valid concern, so you answer it even though you might not be sure. This is your first mistake! If you think it might be bait, it's best to treat it as such. Think of bait asks as toxic waste. If you aren't sure, it's much better to be safe than sorry. If you receive a bait ask, your best bet is to delete it and not respond at all. Yes, it will probably rattle you, and you'll probably feel bad about deleting the question, but you need to understand that it doesn't matter. If this person was asking a genuine question, they would understand if you don't want to answer. If they get annoyed or angry at your lack of answer- they were likely asking it with the intent to hurt you.
The first type of bait is bringing up a controversial topic.
While certain topics (like queer rights, abortion, Palestinian freedom) do actually matter in the real world and I would believe are worth responding to or making your position clear (as long as it is something you do have an opinion on) this does not mean all controversial topics are equal. Many topics that are "hot debates" online do not matter in the real world. (for example, proship vs antiship). Regardless of the validity of the debate, if it doesn't matter in the real world, it likely isn't worth publicly stating your opinion on those things. That is why people who are active in those movements try to make these things seem like they have real world consequences- to try and make their debate more valid and easier to pull more people into. The real goal with many of these topics is not to try and have a reasonable discussion. The goal is to try and pull as many people into them as possible. If they can successfully get ANY response out of you, then they win. Their debate is now broadcasted on your platform. Their thoughts, arguments, philosophies are now spread to thousands of people instantly. Even if you respond with an answer like "huh?" "what?" or "what does this mean???" they still win. Your acknowledgement of the debates existence at ALL is a win for them. They get to publicly platform their beliefs on your profile. If you respond at all and express even the slightest hint of an opinion, then they will have an entire section of fools that can now send you messages about this topic. Death by a thousand paper cuts. This is the most common type of bait, and the reason is simple. Internet debates can suck in people and can quickly rot peoples brains. Like sleeper agents, people will automatically start trying to chime in the moment they see the hints of any debate. If you fall for this debate, the best thing to do is delete everything, block main players and wait it out. With any luck, it will be completely forgotten by the end of the week.
The second type of bait is an accusation.
Again, while some allegations or accusations are worth responding to, if it is completely false, not responding will be your best bet. If you do respond at all, the allegation and your name will be linked in peoples minds. Even if you deny it, people will be confused as to why it was brought up at all. They might even think that you are lying or deflecting. Responding to the accusation at all is treated as a confession. If this accusation is something you've heard before, it would be worth looking into the source of the claim- someone might be spreading lies about you. However, if this accusation is something you've never received before, it is almost certainly bait. They are trying to make you look bad. Just delete them. If this is something you are receiving from a specific person, ask them about it privately. Never respond to false accusations on your public platform unless you know the source of the accusations. If you have to respond to them, you need to link to the accusation in full, not vaguely describe them. When you vaguely describe them, then you are putting the duty on the readers to find the accusation- they'll read it on the accusers terms- putting the ball directly into the accusers court. If your reader reads it directly from the accusers, then it will automatically make your refutation look dubious by comparison. Make it easy for the reader to see the full accusation and point out the absurdity of the claims. By laying out all of the information clearly, the readers will be able to easily figure out that the claims were bogus. In future confrontations, your supporters will likely even respond to the accusers for you, now that they fully understand the arguments against you. Supporters love to correct people, and this can help you significantly- just as much as it can hurt. It's a double edged sword, so if you point it in the right direction, it can help protect you against false accusations.
The third type of bait is confusion.
This type of bait is a bit harder to spot, and it's usually blended with the other two types. This type of bait is deliberately confusing. The confusing nature is what makes it such effective bait. A vague message can be read a thousand ways, and as long as one person can spin it in a way that makes you a "horrible person" then that can quickly become the narrative. If you receive a question that you do not understand, you have no reason to answer it. If you can't answer, simply not acknowledging it at all is the smartest thing to do.
How to deal with bait:
As I've stated in the previous sub-sections, the first time you receive any type of bait, you should ignore it. The intentions of the bait may differ, but they all need to be treated in the same way- with no respect at all. Anyone who tells you otherwise is someone who wishes for you to be hurt or a fool. If you receive it more than once, try blocking the person. If you continue to receive it, then that means that in all likelihood it's more than one person sending you the bait, and it might not be bait after all. However, you should proceed with extreme caution. You do not respond to the bait- you figure out the source of the questions and answer it on your own terms. Simply making a post like "Hey, for the record, I support dolphins." will go over a thousand times better than a post that goes like "'Why do you hate dolphins?' I don't." If you are receiving bait, another way to deal with it is by turning anonymous asks off and looking into the blogs of people sending you the bait. Search terms relating to the question they asked. If it's something they seem to get into a lot of internet fights over, block them. The approach you must always consider bait with is that all of the bait asks you receive are sent by one person trying to seem like a group of people. This is on purpose- they want to intimidate you into answering. This is why blocking and turning off anonymous asks can be useful tools. It forces them to unmask themselves.
Footnote 1: The response by these bait people is often "keeping on anonymous asks allow people to feel safe in asking these important questions." Your safety is more important. This is just trying to guilt trip you. Fools will also often respond similarly. After all, it can sound compelling. However you are not a publicly traded company. You do not need transparency. You do not have body guards or multiple employees. You are a singular person with a right to privacy and safety.
Summary
In this section, we discussed the main types of bait: controversial, accusatory, and confusing. We also talked about the best way to deal with each type, as well as the pitfalls of responding to each type, and how to deal with a larger harassment campaign.
If you personally have fallen victim to any of these techniques, either as a fool or a poster, I can understand how you might feel- however the important aspect of these types of bait is that they can and do trick people. If they didn't work, they wouldn't be used. It is not your fault for falling for it- it is completely on the perpetrators of this abuse. However, I hope this guide can help people to protect themselves or recognize when these things are happening to them.
#long post#so you've been sent bait#this is a series im writing on dealing with harassment and bait- im doing this partially because#ive seen this used to harass many people i respect#and also because i think it might be nice to have a tumblr specific guide using tumblr internet culture#many of these types of guides are specific to twitter or less anonymous social medias like instagram#i would greatly appreciate any feedback or reviews! this is a work in progress and i want to make sure i cover all bases

Happy holidays and Merry Christmas for those who celebrate!
My gift for you, silly analysis over the final scene of Sinsmas!!
As you'd expect, major spoilers under the break!!
"Why didn't they kiss?" "I thought they were going to kiss." "I wish we had the clichĂŠ Christmas kiss."
I've been hearing this a lot since the episode dropped, and normally I am all for my silly clichĂŠs and fun moments, but genuinely, I think the scene is a million tiem better because they didn't kiss.
The first reason is that we already got our heartfelt, genuine kiss earlier in the episode. I loved that, I thought it was so nice, this is also my weaker point.
Before we talk about the scene, let's talk about Blitzø and intimacy.
We've known for pretty much the whole series that Blitzø struggles with emotional intimacy. We also see how he often has little to no emotional connection with those he's intimate with. (See early season One Stolas, The imps at Bee's party, The sheer amount of exes he has)
The whole series, a large part of Blitzø's character, is his inability to be vulnerable, to be open, especially with Stolas. Even when we see the two of them in more intimate settings, we see how, emotionally, Blitzø isn't there. He has sex with Stolas, and that's about it for him. At least, on the surface.
There have been multiple occasions where we see Blitzø and Stolas doing things that could be seen as emotionally intimate (holding eachother, kissing, flirting) but even in those times, we can see that that level of connection is not there.
Even if they're passionate and intense, they're not taking the time to be there, in the moment, and share that with each other.
This is why I think that Blitzø choosing to hug Stolas was so important.
They had this moment of connection, relating to eachother, it got interupted, and instead of dropping, pretending like it didn't happen (like how S1 Blitzø would have done), he tells them to wait. He keeps himself open.
He chooses to take another moment to dance with Stolas, something that he could take further, be more intense, but he doesn't. He shares the moment, the being there, with Stolas. They banter back and forth until they finally reach a pause.
And there's this moment where they look in each other's eyes, a pause sets in as you think, "Will they do it? Are they going to kiss?"
But it doesn't happen.
Blitzø takes in this moment, and instead of choosing an action that could turn to something more, he hugs Stolas.
He simply holds him in his arms, giving him a level of comfort that Blitzø knew he needed.
He didn't complain when Stolas didn't hug back. He didn't pull away after just a moment. He stood there, holding Stolas in his arms, letting him see that, even without the sex, without the lewd banter, without every other moment, he's here for him.
And, maybe I see things differently as an Asexual person; but the intimacy of just holding someone in your arms with no further expectations of what else there is to come, I think, is a feeling that should be explored more.
But, what do you think, people of tumblr? Am I spouting bs and sound like and idiot, or do I have a point? Do you agree, disagree, or are you somewhere in between?
(Bonus, I've had busy past couple days, so if there's any spelling/grammar errors, give me grace!)
(Also also!! Opinions on Millie??? Because AAAA!!! I don't normally like pregnancy storylines, but this is actually hype actually??)

iâm always thinking about arcadia though.. the second major city on gallifrey, the only other named city or one of the very few. and probably the only one that even comes close to matching the capitol in size and (allegedly) importance. and yet we never really hear about it outside the time war (for obvious reasons like it didnât exist in dw canon until 2013. but still) when itâs the last place standing on the planet. itâs just so strange knowing this entire city exists like a shadow to the capitol we know and love and it only comes into the spotlight when itâs destroyed. gallifreyâs second heart
#iâm sure some books and comics go there i havenât exactly read the wiki about it lol#but for real what was it like there compared to the capitol#were there time lords there? was the climate different? the language and food and clothes???#how did it get so big and important when it seems like only the capitol has anything going for it?#is it actually important or is it just large?#so many questions#p#dw#time lords

tbh my latest biggest theory for why HoO and onwards is such a dramatic drop in quality and consistency is just. Rick stopped making teaching guides.
Like, the Lightning Thief teacher's guide is SUPER in-depth with even stuff like sources about middle grade child psychology and exact specifications of where he's applying that, explaining what different character's goals/motivations are, their dynamics with each other and their environments, etc etc. Even specifying which specific myths certain plot elements are supposed to reference or be about.
That stuff just doesn't exist for later books. There's activity guides and smaller, significantly more simple teacher guides for later books but they don't go into anywhere NEAR the same level of depth. The TLT one is a full lesson plan that breaks down the book at every level and explains what's going on and more or less why Rick did that. The others are all basically just glossaries of terminology and some simple question guides.
And they didn't even use the TLT teacher's guide for the Disney+ show because they clearly aren't adhering to any of what's discussed in that breakdown of the book.
By creating a teaching guide alongside writing the actual book, that's forcing you to document what you're doing, why, your sources, and information about your characters and the story they're in. It's like an even more in-depth version of a series bible. But that's lacking for later books (and etc) and it shows because that level of thought and depth and attention just isn't there anymore.
#pjo#riordanverse#rick riordan#rr crit#< i suppose#imo one of the most damning parts of the drop of quality in the later books is you can tell exactly what parts of what books#Rick had planned in advance and which are just filler to get from point a to point b#because characters will jump in and out of consistent behaviors - particularly in HoO - and those lapses where they act weird#are almost always super disconnected from the rest of the plot or storyline or whatever arc that character is on#or are just so clearly sped through because they aren't important#Leo is a great character imo to look at to figure out if it's a filler scene or not lmao#if he's clearly masking being somber by putting on a silly act but dropping it quickly or otherwise largely acting serious/somber#then it's probably a more considered scene and actually paying attention to his overall character arc#or just remembering how the characters are supposed to act (in Leo's case - quiet/thoughtful/somber but masking it with humor/etc)#if he's 100% silly goofy depression arc nowhere in sight then its probably mostly a filler scene or at least his part in it is filler#anyways i highly recommend reading the tlt teaching guide its really interesting actually

"rhaenys could have ended the war by dracarysing all the greens right there" yes because a distant relation to the throne deciding to barbecue an anointed and publicly positively hailed king and his entire family who is well loved within the city and in multiple other parts of the country for the sake of the succession of a far-away princess no one was ever on board with who hasn't been seen by the populace in literal years, her psycho husband, her three obvious bastards, and two toddlers from the psycho husband would go over super well with westeros and especially in king's landing where scores of the still-cheering population were killed for no reason by that same dragon who would do the barbecuing, because when targaryens act unilaterally without thinking of how the people would react there's never any problem, which is why the storming of the dragonpit and robert's rebellion were actually just collective delusions dreamed up by readers who hate rhaenyra and not key parts of the story and house targaryen's history that directly contributed to their demise and are intrinsic to the plot
truly team black stans are made up of only the most genius and media literate amongst us
#personal#house of the dragon#anti team black#i mean i guess??#like the crowd was cheering for aegon HARD#and they were always on board with aegon#and the hightowers are a powerful house with a lot of allies#and alicent and helaena specifically were well loved by the people in king's landing and the realm at large#and none of them ever liked rhaenyra or daemon who again have been MIA for basically a decade already#and again targaryens overreaching their power and not taking the people into account#is the reason why their house fell into oblivion and now rests entirely on a FIFTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL WHO IS THE ONLY ONE LEFT#if she roasted the dais the mob wouldn't have even let her leave they'd have killed her and meleys both in a heartbeat#storming of the dragonpit but a couple months earlier#the thing to remember is that i think a lot of team black stans are just kinda stupid#and do not care about the story at all or the actual intricacies of the world and its politics that is so important to the dance#(remember the rumors of rhaenyra mistreating helaena and alicent literally led to rhaenyra's death)#(because it led to the mobs and the storming of the dragonpit and the death of joffrey and her being driven out)#(and thus having to go to dragonstone where sunfyre got a little meal out of the whole debacle good for him)#(along with all of her ten million other shitty political decisions)#how do you profess to be pro-targaryen without even knowing targaryen history and where they erred and how that ended them#like *i* like the targaryens you guys have heard me talk about the conquerors all the livelong day#but i am also smart and i understand the world george created and the concept of repercussions#anyway yeah i am Annoyed at that new daemon clip (wow what a shock something annoyed me and had daemon in it)#(my least favorite character who could have foreseen this)
