Speaking of Tarn, I know it's a meme to make fun of him and it's kind of justified bc he is deeply cringe and sad and pathetic, but I also think ppl spend way too much time shitting on Tarn for being weird/creepy and not enough time shitting on Megatron for deliberately singling him out and targeting him for brainwashing so that he would BECOME that weird and creepy. Like. Everyone wants to call Tarn horrible and weird but no one wants to acknowledge that Megatron is the person who made him that way. Not even from just an indirect sense of "oh he liked Megatron's writings" no.

Literally Megatron converted Damus/Tarn and personally groomed him as a protege (that he ultimately didn't actually care about at all) as a deliberate action just to spite Optimus. There was no "oh Damus/Glitch was already kind of suspicious and weird and evil" TARN LITERALLY WAS NOT THAT WAY UNTIL MEGATRON MADE HIM THAT WAY like come on y'all

This post is so interesting. I swear I'm not being a bitch, I'm legitimately intrigued as to how this happens. This reads like the kind of post somebody would make if they were only familiar with "romance novel" as an abstract concept. Actual romance novels employ a similar grammar of pretty codified tropes, and arguably a lot less diverse in practice. And there is abundant fanfic that expressly functions as an epic narrative on intimacy, so much so that Elizabeth Woledge proposed the "intimatopia" as a distinct form within the genre. So like, what you are asking for here is either the Brontë sisters or Vincent Virga (gay Brontë sisters) or most likely just fanfiction of a particular literary quality. Which, yes, I understand is a tall order.

These people will never understand why so many of us first became fans of Daniel in 2022, why we stuck with him through all the difficult times and why we would still have shown up to see him get P16 in a vcarb because he raced with as much passion in a midfield car as he did in a top car.

They’ll never understand Daniel’s true impact on this sport, but the one thing they understand is money. And they will see the impact of his loss on their bottom lines. While it’s infuriating to see how this guy only sees Daniel as a show pony, I’m going to feel vindicated when in a few weeks, when all the media and Red Bull have exhausted all the ways they could dismantle his career, there’s going to be quantifiable proof of his loss to this sport.

hey so I'm literally starting to hate the word "radical" in its political usage.

it is not radical to think that people deserve food and clean water.

it is not radical to think that people deserve safe housing, full stop.

it is not radical to think that bodily autonomy is a human right.

it is not radical to think that queer and trans folks should be allowed to exist comfortably and happily, be allowed to marry each other, and have access to medical care, gender-affirming or otherwise.

it is not radical to think that children shouldn't be going into debt over school lunches.

it is not radical to think that education should be free.

it is not radical to think that nobody should have to die of preventable/treatable illnesses.

it is not radical to think that poverty shouldn't fucking exist.

belief in basic human rights and dignities for everyone that exists is not a radical stance, we're a cooperative species, we are LITERALLY built to care for and help each other.

attaching the term "radical" to any stance that approaches compassionate and decent is a tool of the oppressor class, and we are literally 200 years behind the curve. we HAVE to re-frame the way we talk about these things and throw the fucking shackles off.
