Mayncient Day 1: Introduction

Anthea, Creationist of Elpis // Constantinos, Assistant to Emet-Selch Deimos, Word of Lahabrea // Iris, Creation Follow Up

Hi Hello and welcome! Have a little lore and details to my four ancients and where they started!

Anthea

They grew up on Elpis and followed, mostly, in their parent's footsteps in creating and researching concepts, where they differed was picking flora over fauna. Anthea had many a great idea and wanted to so desperately make something perfect worthy of the star but never could get their creations exactly how they wanted them and even when they could it could never be replicated in the exact same manner. It was an attempt to create a flower with rainbow edges that a stray thought gave birth to what would be dubbed the Elpis flower, the most life changing flora they had created.

Constantinos aka Conner

With a passion in the application of plants to the body in various forms, it was a surprise he wasn't sent to be a Word of Halmarut. Instead he found his post to becoming the assistant to the newest appointed Emet-Selch, though metaphorical guard dog was a more apt description at times. While not ideal Conner embraced the role and found his skills and detail orientated brain worked well with the seemingly random data brought up from the Aetherial Sea. It was through this job that he would meet all manner of people of the utmost importance to their society....and he never finds out that he was placed there as an attempted prank by Emet-Selch's brother Azem.

Deimos

Born and raised in Amaurot not far from his cousin Hades, Deimos was always a bit of an odd one. Always over excitable, had to be moving, and always had a million questions for his older cousin Hades. The two were raised closely to a point it was just easier to call one another brother, especially when Deimos' natural talent in magic and intelligence led to him skipping enough grades to soon share a classroom with Hades wherein soon the boys were always associated with one another. Once they were out in the world as adults, Deimos set to work on setting himself apart from his brother, finding a passion in the creation and process of doing so among the Words of Lahabrea. Still eccentric as ever Deimos would run the other Words that mentored him, when Lahabrea could not, ragged. It was after his latest suggestions on adding "cuteness and more fighting features" to someone's little fluffy transformation familiar that the Words pushed him onto the current Azem that was looking for assistance on their adventure. His out of the box thinking and fearlessness impressed Azem and had her taking him under her wing to become the next Azem.

Iris

She was always the honor student it was no surprise that she would end up in a class with a young Hades who was relieved to have a class without his brother or his best friend Hythlodaeus. As assigned partners though these two both had their own opinions on how things should be done and couldn't get along to start....that is until she defended his harshness of another student with a subtle harshness of her own that the two found they had much in common. Getting closer in the classes to follow where Hades was without his other two companions, they started a bit of a relationship that came to an end with the end of required schooling. Iris had a thirst for adventure and had always set her sights on following up on the creations released into the world, that Hades never wanted to stifle and she didn't want to stifle him and his plans that he had for his life. Staying in touch the best they could over the years it would take an AU for them to end up together.

lads LIs when you're hesitant to initiate kisses

sylus understands your hesitancy to make yourself vulnerable, but he also can't stand to see you unfulfilled. the first couple times he catches you staring at his lips, he offers nothing but lazy blinks and slow smirks, challenging you to come to him first. but when you look away in uncertainty one too many times, seemingly content to watch your own desires slip away as long as it saves you from embarrassment, he saunters toward you, maintaining eye contact all the way. placing one hand on your hip and the other on your chin, he bends to capture your lips with his, making you stumble with his intensity. his grip on you only tightens when he breaks the kiss, and before you can ask what he’s doing, he tugs you toward his lips. when you lose your balance and fall into his embrace, you realize his game: he’s making you kiss him first 

zayne empathizes with your shyness and hesitancy, afraid to so much as look at you the wrong way in case he offends you. since you’re both too frozen in overthought to make the first move, you don’t become intimate as quickly as most couples, trading physical closeness for emotional understanding. when he walks you to your door after a visit to the bakery, he leaves you with a warm goodnight hug, and you both assume the other is satisfied. only when you think he’s asleep on the sofa one evening and press a fond kiss to his cheek does he realize you share his private desires. the next day, after stoically psyching himself up for 20 minutes, he finds you in the kitchen and kisses you deeply, a pink tinge on his cheeks when he pulls away

caleb wants you to kiss him first—or at least ask him to kiss you—but what if you won’t? he needs to know that you want him—that you’ll willingly give him the privilege of kissing you—so he gives you a few pushes in the right direction. he teases you with heated glances and not-so-accidental touches until you walk up to him, dumb with desire. when you stare up at him helplessly, he settles a large hand on your waist and hovers over your mouth, giving you the chance to push him away. when you don’t, he leans in slowly, tantalizingly, as if wanting to drive home the fact that you’re letting this happen to you—letting him claim your mouth in a slow, consuming kiss. this way, maybe, just maybe, you’ll find the courage to take what you want from him next time—if you let him taste you, there’s no need to be shy anymore, right?

you know rafayel, so you know he would be upset if you expected him to initiate everything—would it kill you to show a little interest in him? that said, you also know that initiating things isn’t really your thing. so, you find a trick that works like a charm: you goad him into kissing you. you’re comfortable enough with kisses to other places—anywhere but the lips—so you adorn his cheeks and neck with soft, chaste kisses until he’s riled up and flushed, his breath coming out in soft pants from the pleasure of feeling wanted. when you pull away, he chases your touch, and all it takes is an innocent giggle from you before he’s pinning you down and stealing your breath away, his tongue tangling with yours in passion and power.

xavier is confused and a bit discouraged when he realizes you never initiate—he thinks you just don’t want to kiss him. one afternoon, you find him sulking in bed, huddled under his comforter with the lights off. worried he’s sick or hurt, you ask what’s wrong, and he gives you 4 pouty non-answers before finally giving in. you can feel your face heat and gut tangle in guilt when he questions if you ever want to kiss him, and with one hand stroking his hair, you confess that you’re simply too shy to kiss him first. he responds with a blink and a whispered “so you do like me, then?”, and when you nod, he tackles you at the speed of light, pressing kisses all over your face before finally claiming your lips

a/n: anon who asked me if i’d ever write for zayne and i hinted at later this week this is not what i was talking about don’t worry, just an impromptu writing exercise to convince myself i’m not washed. also while this technically counts for xavier and raf i’m the least familiar with their cards so idk if/when i can write anything much longer than this for them (love them tho)

mattheo riddle never let himself feel anything other than hatred, until you came into his life. before you, he was just numb, nothing that pure rage and darkness. but with you, everything changed. he didn't need words or grand gestures, just being near you was enough to make him feel...something. it was like, for the first time, someone actually saw him. and the first time you touched him, when he let his guard down and let you in, something deep inside him shifted. you buried your face in his chest, and he froze, not knowing what to do. the only touch he’d ever known was violent and cruel, so he didn't know how to handle the soft, soothing way you held him. but once he gave in and wrapped his arms around you, he knew he’d give up everything for just one more second of this.

everyone else saw mattheo as nothing but trouble, like he was born bad. darkness seemed to follow him everywhere, and he figured that was just how it was supposed to be. hell had probably been his destiny from the moment he was born. but then you came along. you, with your golden heart and warm soul, gave him a taste of something pure, something he knew he didn’t deserve. somehow, he had found his way into your life, into your heart, and for the first time ever, he understood what “home” meant. he never had a real home before, no place or person to run back to. but now, you were becoming that for him. his safe place, his shelter.

mattheo wasn’t stupid. letting you in gave him hope, but deep down, he knew the truth. no matter how much he tried, he’d never be good enough for you. the connection you shared felt like a temporary dream, something that could disappear at any second. he promised himself he wouldn’t let anyone see him weak, but you made that impossible. the closer he got to you, the more he feared what would happen when it all fell apart. that’s just how he was, doubting everything, second-guessing every feeling. because he’d always been broken, and he couldn’t imagine anyone seeing past that. but with you, he wanted to try, even if it meant risking everything. because he found himself missing you everytime you weren’t around.

mattheo never cared about what the world thought of him. everyone saw him as ruined, a lost cause. they couldn’t understand the storm inside him, the pieces that never fit together quite right. he knew he was broken, and he had grown to accept that. but you saw through the cracks, past the sharp edges, and somehow, you still wanted to know him. he didn’t want to hide from you, didn’t want to pretend to be someone he wasn’t, but he didn’t understand why you stuck with him even after seeing his dark side. for the first time, he wanted to be seen. not as the person everyone else thought he was, but as the person he really was, deep down. he just wanted you to know him, the real him, the one who was scared, vulnerable, and maybe even a little bit hopeful. because in a world full of chaos and brokenness, you made him feel like he could be someone else, just for a moment.

More Drayton and Iris shenanigans <3 I love them

Eris uses his super warm hands to massage the tired muscles in Azriel's back.

Azriel is startled—no one has done that in years; it's a deeply intimate gesture. Not only because wings are so sensitive, but also because it means allowing someone close to a highly vulnerable spot.

Eris turns it into a ritual, massaging him and doting on him every time he's been flying for too many hours. And sometimes, just because.

Headcanons of how Cabins decorating a Sleepy Hypnos child's hair

Personally I believe that each Hypnos child has soft curly hair which makes it easy for other campers from other Cabins to decorate their hair out of boredom and it slowly becomes a competition between the cabins on which cabin does it the most and which style is their favorite, etc. and here's how each cabin can tell ~this was inspired by some IG reels and a post by @/clovis-enthusiast

**Side Note: I would say some staff of CHB join in to represent some gods to avoid any potential conflicts**

Cabin 1 -Zeus: gold metallic lighting bolts

Cabin 2- Hera: peacock feathers (I like to think Argus decided to represent her cabin and protect Hera's honor in a way)

Cabin 3- Poseidon: little orange starfishes (like the ones in the Aquamarine movie-2006) and seashells

Cabin 4- Demeter: wheat and flowers (they negotiated with the Aphrodite Cabin on which flowers- the ones that represent/symbolizes any type of love or have heart shapes-i.e. heart shaped forget me not flowers are only for the cabin 10 and ofc both cabins have a list of which type their cabins can use)

Cabin 5- Ares: plastic sword toothpicks and mini metal spike balls (which the cabin later had to change them to those spiky porcupine balls for safety because Chiron said so)

Cabin 6- Athena: owl feathers, olive branch crown, maybe ripped up papers with favorite quotes from books

Cabin 7- Apollo: guitar string flowers, ripped up papers with poems/ music lyrics, music note paper clips

Cabin 8- Artemis: silver little stars (they only participate when they visit CHB)

Cabin 9- Hephaestus: nuts and bolts, flowers made out of wires

Cabin 10- Aphrodite: butterfly/flower hair clips, bow hair clips, hearts, and flowers and honestly anything that the cabin sees that's fit and pretty (the cabin was also asked to tone it down just so to keep it fun for all cabins and ofc it's no surprise that this cabin goes all out)

Cabin 11- Hermes: wind-up chatter teeth toys or those fake insects

Cabin 12- Dionysus: grapevine floral crown with little grapes

Cabin 13- Hades: tiny skeleton heads

Cabin 14-Iris: little rainbow hair clips or anything rainbow related

Cabin 15- Hypnos: probably leftover pillow feathers if they're awake long enough

Cabin 16- Nemesis: mini balance scales (the Hephaestus cabin def helped make them just to ensure safety)

Cabin 17- Nike: laurel's leaves (Apollo cabin was nice to give this one up-also yes I did look up some symbols to represent each god/goddess)

Cabin 18- Hebe: tiny clay cups/mugs of any style

Cabin 19- Tyche: mini four leave clovers/ horseshoes (as she is the goddess of fortune, luck, and prosperity)

Cabin 20- Hecate: battery operated flashlights in shapes of torches

lads LIs when you're sensitive to noise

xavier:

since he lives upstairs, he teleports around his apartment on busy days so his footsteps don’t bother you

he is the anonymous noise complaint demon in your complex. if something bothers you, he’s reporting it. and if your landlord doesn't do anything about it, he torments the offending tenants with blinding flashes of light every time they blast music at 1 am until they stop

let’s say your in-unit washer is really loud during the spin cycle. well, he comes over to sit with you until your laundry is finished. lets you use him as a stress ball so you don’t panic

orders you matching fuzzy earmuffs. they have bunny ears 

if you’re eating at a loud restaurant—maybe some guests are celebrating a birthday or a graduation—he asks to be moved to a quieter section

zayne:

lets you hide out in his office when you’re overwhelmed: you lie on the sofa with the lights off while he's seeing patients 

looks up expected noise levels, sensory guides, and accommodations in advance before you visit a new place

scarily mindful of his chewing. if you don’t like chewing sounds he makes his almost imperceptible when you eat together. you wonder if his jaw is even moving

researches your sensitivity and symptoms, consults his specialist colleagues about the details (keeping your identity a secret, of course #HIPAA)

comforts you whenever you feel like an inconvenience, holding you close and reminding you that you are not your condition—“don’t blame yourself for something you can’t control” (you’re one to talk, elsa)

sylus: 

the gun silencer stays ON when he’s around you 

when you arrive at the base one day and open the door, a legion of construction workers comes out. when you inevitably ask “hey sylus? um. wtf?” he leads you down the hallway and boom. soundproof paneling in all your favorite rooms

will put one of his precious vinyls on pause if you come to cuddle with him and get overstimulated from the sound

mephisto taps on your door one day. he is there to drop off 3 different pairs of thousand-dollar noise cancelling headphones 

if his men are working on a loud project while you’re with him, he’ll supervise through his cameras instead of in person. he’ll take you to a different room and hum to you to drown out the noise

rafayel:

i have decided that rafayel uses echolocation at times since his eyesight is bad. when he’s stumbling around his studio at midnight, he’ll make some sharp noises to help him find his way in the dark—a clap or a stomp of his foot. BUT when you’re around he switches to quieter alternatives—a snap of his fingers or a click of the tongue

will Always ask for accommodations at the museums and galleries you visit. might get pissy about it if they’re inadequate 

after seeing how your sensitivity affects you, he sets up a charity so a percentage of the proceeds from his exhibitions go to sensory disorder research and accommodations

won’t hesitate to ditch a showcase if you get overwhelmed and need to leave early 

if you’re at the movies or a play or anything that has an audience he will straight up ask people around you to be quiet. and somehow with this guy’s charm and allure it always works. no issue

caleb:

fixes up your childhood white noise machine and regifts it to you for your birthday

he’s like a bodyguard, ushering you out of loud areas when you’re in public. he’ll even put his hands over your ears to muffle the noise, no matter how silly it looks

when you text him that you’re overwhelmed or have had a bad day, he’ll prep your room so you can collapse in peace when you get home: he turns the lights off, sets out your favorite snacks, puts freshly washed blankets on the bed, and has the white noise machine going near max volume. basically makes your own sensory room for you to hide in until you’re feeling better

thunder’s too loud? he’s there. wraps his strong arms around you like a weighted blanket and distracts you with memories and stories until the storm has passed 

has a notebook solely for keeping track of your trigger sounds

if anyone at work or school mocks or questions your sensitivity, he finds a reason for The Colonel to pay them a visit and scares them out of their wits

I'm going to confess something to you guys.

I think about Meri and Iris being a couple and Clef hating it way more than you think.

Clef:

Hates Type Greens.

Is a Type Green

Has been emotionally destroyed from being contained, potentially mistreated by The Foundation.

Works his ass off to keep his daughter safe and comfortable in the foundation the best he can, even if he can't be near her.

Had to watch iris, a Type Green, go through tremendous amounts of mistreatment as well.

(So Leave Yourself Alone)

Probably tries so hard to prevent anyone in The Foundation from ending up like him, is not great at that.

(Wait this is giving me some ideas to touch down on with Edison and Clef... later...)

Meri:

Grew up disconnected from who her family was, raised religiously, still struggles internally with wanting to find out who they are.

Church probably walked on eggshells over who her father was.

Definitely can see her getting frustrated from "Well. your father is The Lord. We are all gods children and he is The One True Father" her whole life. Definitely has a bit of a temper as a result. (It's not mood swings. She just gets irritated by things like that and literally nobody respects that she doesn't like it, so she's just constantly at her limit for that kind of stuff.)

Ends up in The Foundation, feels even more isolated because the people that DID raise her are now gone.

Magically starts getting the stuff she requests.

Horrified by her father's actions after getting the note.

Probably had to internalize but does that passive aggressive, "Well. you can still ask for forgiveness in the eyes of The Lord" to him if she does talk to him. (Side note: Clef growing up with religion shoved down his throat- hearing it from his own daughter probably hurts him too)

Probably finds herself getting closer to Iris at some point or another.

Gets irritated that her dad decides to start wedging himself into her life after spending so long away. ESPECIALLY if he decides that he can just do one or two things and then decide he earned his keep being her dad. No! That's not how it works.

This pressure definitely would get to her.

This probably pisses of Light too.

Iris:

Gets thrown around as a Foundation punching bag for her abilities

The shit with Able

Constantly breaking down, probably feels burdened by her anomaly because of what pain it has brought her, yet remains close to it because it has helped her.

Asshole Hawaiian Shirt Gremlin Wont Leave Her Be (she doesn't know he's looking after her because he's terrible at expressing that.)

Girl gets a fucking break for once in her life to get a partner and immediately the Asshole Hawaiian Shirt Gremlin wedges into it.

Tries SO HARD not to let Clef influence her personality- ends up becoming just like him in a small little fucked up way. (Not exactly, just a bit.)

Clef seems like the guy who overall cares about both of them, yet at the same time is emotionally shit at expressing this.

He would definitely be stressed that he is watching a Type Green date his daughter, but it's also been 30 years past the Ichabod Campaign or maybe more, and I am heavily subscribed to Author Clef's idea that Alto is the kind of man who has grown past what he suffered from and knew way back then.

He can see past the fact that it's not just any type green, its IRIS. But at that point, if he's projecting his own problems, then wouldn't he then question if he is worthy of being loved?

But he would shut that thought down. He would definitely cram it away where nobody else can see. At the same time the problem still arises:

Someone that he holds close because of his own shortcomings is dating his daughter.

His daughter is dating someone that could potentially be good for her.

But his daughter is also dating someone who fits the same demographic that he was raised to believe would be abusive.

He would probably be forced to handle the fact that they are in fact happy, yet still handling his anxiety and fear that it will go wrong.

Even if he doesn't explicitly say it, he might police them- or try. I think it would be fitting actually if Light stepped in for this, even if she doesn't do well with handling Meri or Iris directly, she can still step in to handle an annoying Clef.

I can also see him more likely to get into a verbal argument with Light over this (not Meri) and eventually having to handle his stuff VIA Glass.

I do think Meri and Iris are happy together, but having Clef does create a tension that can't be cut, especially considering how he probably knows Iris better than he knows Meri...

Which would make it way more awkward.

Their attempts to try to shove Clef away for some air or privacy would seem suspicious, but in all reality he's just trying too hard.

It could be entirely possible that it's tense for a very long time, Clef could even attempt to threaten Iris, considering how he is the kind of guy to let people get close but still pull the trigger if The Foundation ordered- but it would fall flat.

The Foundation doesn't WANT Iris dead. He doesn't either. He just wants them both to be safe- and doesn't realize that when together they ARE SAFE.

He could easily grow to let it happen with time, and as the years pass, that little knot in his chest of disapproval shrinks. The more it goes away the more he backs off, and the closer Meri and Iris have at being together. And the more his disapproval shrinks.

I like the idea that Meri does have to handle some of her own sexuality crisis during all of this too. (I am subscribed to the idea she is Ace, but romantically attracted to women)

She is definitely mad at Clef, but maybe she is offered the idea of letting him get close- She already knows he has no regrets for what he's done. He's accepted that he won't be going to heaven for his actions in her eyes.

At the same time- maybe she isn't raised as the aggressive gay-hating christian that needs to make everyone convert. Maybe she was raised by chill Christians.

I guess it just depends on one's headcanon though.

I got bored, so here are some random headcanons about the visionaries

Alex: He’s extremely superstitious—he not only keeps the luggage tags from past trips but also holds onto a four-leaf clover he found in a park when he was thirteen, safely sealed in a plastic bag on his nightstand. You’d never catch this guy walking under a ladder on the street, and he’s hyper-careful whenever he takes the salt from the table.

Kimberly: The road trip with her friends was her way of spending a few days away from her dad. Don’t get her wrong—she loves him—but ever since her mom died, things have been tense between them. She carried the guilt; he carried the grief of losing the love of his life. The first anniversary of her mom’s death was going to be unbearable. They agreed she’d be with friends that day, while her grandparents stayed with her dad. It was their first step toward healing separately before they could heal together.

Wendy: This girl simply can’t play board games—she loses control too easily and gets frustrated when things don’t go her way. Whether it’s Uno, Monopoly, or Candyland, Wendy will lose her cool. In fact, once in sophomore year Carrie convinced her to join the school chess tournament; Wendy got so upset she threw her bishop at her opponent… who happened to be Jason. That’s exactly when he fell for her.

Nick: His parents are truly wealthy, with an extensive family fortune. Though he has many uncles and cousins, he’s an only child, which made for a lonely childhood. That’s why he befriended Hunt in high school—a prep-school kid from a family almost as rich as his own. Hunt’s attitude rubbed off on Nick during his senior years, but once he went to college and met Lori, everything changed. He began seeing life differently and decided he wanted to work for himself rather than rely on his family… well, at least when it’s convenient: like his own house before 30 or trips to Europe with his girlfriend.

Sam: Sam is the youngest of three brothers; his two older brothers followed more traditionally “masculine” paths, so he was closer to his mother. His dad insisted all three sons play sports, but Sam’s passion was always cooking. He learned at a young age alongside his mom, despite his father’s objections. When Sam was fourteen, his mom broke her arm in a supermarket accident and couldn’t cook—so Sam took over dinner for the family for months until she recovered. That’s when his father finally saw Sam’s talent. They offered to pay for culinary school, but it was prohibitively expensive, so Sam chose a more affordable degree, planning to earn enough afterward to pursue his true passion full-time.

Iris: Iris’s family never had much money—in fact, neighbors would say they barely got by. Her dresses were all handmade by her mother, a skilled seamstress who taught Iris everything she knew. After marrying Paul, Iris began offering her seamstress services to the women in her neighborhood. Random Ace Attorney head canons I have

(spoilers for AA1-5, haven't played the other games yet.)

The Payne's and the Edgeworth's are distant relatives, the Payne's don't know this, but Miles does, Miles does not enjoy this fact at all

Franziska and Kristoph do speak English with a German accent but, it's not super thick as they both practiced speaking English from young age

Klavier also learnt English from a young age but likes to exaggerate his accent and, say the occasional German word, because he thinks it makes him more sexy

Larry has rich snobbish parents who were super strict and neglectful, he never got along with them (being the class clown partly to rebel against them, and partly for fun) and moved out after dropping out of highschool

The Blackquills are British (I mean this is kinda canon cuz Simon is British coded but still wanna mention it)

Random Submas +family headcanon

Okay, So-

I remember seeing the somewhat popular Headcanon reason that Ingo's eyes are able to glow in the dark in PLA is because he's been around ghost type Pokemon a lot, specifically his Chandelure.

I came with another random headcanon, specifically with another "supernatural" like pokemon. Specifilly, Dragon-types.

Due to the draconic aura of dragon-types give off, it causes the human they're around with after long periods of time. sharp fang- like teeth. To some point, can even mimic the growls of other dragon pokemon, or even gain claws.

Which means Ingo, along with Emmet would have sharp teeth. Probably not as big due to them sharing ONE dragon type to their name. But with the headcanon for Drayden being their uncle/dad, it would be more common for them to be exposed to more dragon type Pokemon.

In turn, Drayden has the largest fangs in the family, easily hidden by his beard. With him being a Dragon-type Gym leader, he's constantly surrounded by them. He's most likely the MOST affected by his phenomenon, giving his line of work. I can definitely see by in canon he would wrestle his dragons, probably to let off steam since dragon-types are known to be tempermental, so it rubbed off onto him.

Iris in this case, would be the second most affected by this, tied with Drayton. Iris was born in the Village of Dragons after all, plus given her ability to understand Dragon-type pokemon's feelings, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case.

Drayton on the other hand, is inherited from his grandfather, along with it being his chosen type to battle with. Given how both Iris and Drayton are still young, I imagine they don't have their full fangs yet.

I can Elesa being a bit of an Outlier though. Hers are not as prominent as the Subway twins. But since she hangs out with them a lot, I can picture she has little fangs, but not noticable enough to raise questions.
