I know everyone loves talking about Katniss and Peeta being affectionate in everyday life and mirroring her parents, but I also go crazy about them being affectionate and Peeta realizing he has a safe home filled with love unlike his parents. I just imagine him remembering his parents just tensely being with each other and contrasting that with him and Katniss who are always touching in some way and greet each other with kisses and hugs.

Bleddyn Llew Rhodri, life to current day, pt 1

A fae that grew up in an extremely fertile area of the Unseelie, to a family of humble merchants and craftsmen. He has many fond memories from his childhood of learning bits and pieces about everything-- either from his mother and father, or from his grandparents. From tending to the family's farm for produce and such to sell, to wood, leather, and stone work. Fending off beasts and monsters that would come too close to his family's property, survival skills, and how to make a good sale.

As the only child of his parents, it fell to him to continue on with the family business when they passed away. While it happened sooner than he expected (about the equivalent of his late 20s) Bleddyn took his time to mourn the loss. Tried to pick up the business where their family had left off...but it was ultimately too much to accomplish alone. He didn't have the skills that his parents had in managing everything behind the scenes either, despite how they had tried to teach him over the years.

For a time, he tried to keep things going despite that, but decided after a year or two that he would much rather see it flourish under different ownership, than to watch everything that his family had strove to put together crumble away into nothing.

And so, he sold it to a family friend. Another merchant that was far better suited to the running of things than Bleddyn himself was. He considered continuing to work there, but after speaking to a close friend of his, he decided that this would be the best time to make his own path for himself.

This same friend suggested that Bleddyn join the Unseelie's knights, as he had. Travel to the capital, get the chance to experience more of the realm than the small portion of it that he'd thus far experienced-- maybe even further, one day.

Bleddyn agreed...and though he was a good bit older than most of the other trainees, who could only just be consider grown, he showed right away that he was a good fit for the job.

Billy takes a lot of selfies, especially when on missions, and sends them to you. You don’t know what made him start doing this, but you save each and every one of them and you make sure to drop whatever you’re doing to ask him about it.

Billy is on the spectrum. Don’t ask me the logistics of it, yes he’s sophisticated AI, but hear me out! Though you like to indulge in some childhood nostalgia, you aren’t particularly fixated on watching just one media from your childhood. However, one of the medias you watched back in the day is called Starlight Knight. As soon as you told him you enjoyed that show, he would come to you to talk about it. It wasn’t all the time, of course, but whenever conservation went dry (in person or via DMs), he’d make it a thing to talk to you about it for hours. It didn’t annoy you, not in the slightest. It made you happy to see him so happy about the children’s show, and so you entertained it as much as you could.

When Billy texts, he uses old fashioned emoticons as punctuation. Think ‘ :3 , ^_^ , o_O ’ and then replace it everywhere a period, an exclamation point, or a question mark would be. So many emoticons…

Billy loves to play video games, especially at the arcade. He invites you, and usually you tag along. When you can’t, he sends a selfie of him making a sad face. He’d probably captions it something like ‘Missing my pookie.. 💔💔’

On that same note, Billy will pick up on vocabulary you use and steal it. So if you have a habit of saying ‘pookie’ ? That’s his now. He’s using it all the time.

Billy panics easy when it comes to you. not only when it comes to safety, but also when it comes to romantic scenarios. During times you hang out with Anby and Nicole, they spill all the details of how Billy went on a rampage to find the perfect flowers, or how Billy sat in a corner all morning whining about how he didn’t find the right color outfit for you. Things along those lines!

Sortve related, but Billy gets flustered easily. Especially when you make dirty jokes, most of which aren’t really directed at him. He doesn’t get the jokes at first, but when he does understand them, he reacts in such an over the top and dramatic manner. Flailing around, gasping really loud, whining, yknow the works! One time you made a joke about ‘whimpering audios’ and he didn’t understand it. For a while too! Once he asked enough people (Anby explained it to him), he went silent and locked himself in his room for a considerable amount of time. He wasn’t sad or anything, just… shocked.

Billy isn’t human, so he doesn’t necessarily get injured in the traditional sense. One time he came back from a commission with his arm all battered up. You never seen him so down in spirits! You were able to help him, luckily, because it was only one part on his arm that was damaged that really messed up the rest of it. You kissed his hand, and immediately after inspecting your handiwork, he stuck his hand out again. “I dunno.. my arm still feels wonky. How about another kiss for good measure?”

When you’re bored, you love to dress up as Billy. Well, you’re not really dressing like him, you’re just wearing his jacket. You also like to wear the jacket with certain outfits you think it would look best with. Since your boyfriend is so tall and broad in the arms, you mostly wore it as a shoulder drape in an odd anime fashion statement. Regardless, Billy loved to see you wear it.

Earlier I mentioned Billy loves to take selfies, but I forgot to mention how most of them include you, and despite having all of those selfies of himself, half of his camera roll is you. He likes to sneak pictures of you sometimes! It’s one of his more odder behaviors, but he takes such cinematic pictures of you, even when you’re wearing the worst outfits. You didn’t know how he did it, but it’s one of the things that made the random picture taking somewhat okay.

Billy loves hugs. Don’t ask me how it works in terms of comfort. I would assume it’s the equivalent of sleeping in a car. However, Billy does have plenty of plushies thanks to you, and you use those to your advantage… so it’s not all bad :)

You asked Billy to teach you how to sling guns, and the entire tutorial sesh was just him feeling every inch of your body, memorizing and admiring how you looked. He loved you. All of you! He thought he was being sneaky, but you knew (and secretly loved it too).

Billy loves to carry you on his back and walk around. All I’m saying is, he’s got handlebars on that jacket for a reason… this has to be one of them……

Billy loves stickers. Self Explanatory!

Billy loves giving you gifts. He puts your needs over his more than he should, but luckily you’re not in this relationship to take advantage of his immaturity and inexperience. You give back as much as you can.

Billy is clingy. Needed to type it out despite it being loud as hell in this list.

Billy cant cook. Not like he needs to anyways, but he wants to learn for you! So when you’re cooking, he watches close behind you and asks you every question he can think of.

Billy likes to ask why… a lot. It gets frustrating sometimes, but he genuinely wants to learn.

I’ve seen you post some labru stuff and I’m curious what your thoughts on it are. personally I don’t see it? I can buy Kabru having feelings for Laios, but I think Laios wouldn’t be interested in Kabru, so it makes me wonder why so many people ship them. (Tbh I feel like Kabru has more chemistry with Mithrun anyway)

Sorry if this ask sounds rude, I just genuinely don’t understand the appeal of the ship, but I want to understand and I trust your analysis of characters very much :] maybe there’s something I’m missing

I really like both ships, actually!

For labru, there’s sooooo much I could talk about. The inherent homoeroticism of being narrative foils. The inherent homoeroticism of being the king’s advisor. All of chapter 76. The fact that Kabru has mask upon mask upon mask, and Laios is the first person that made his facade absolutely crumble.

Kabru struggles with being genuine!!! Everything he says and does is so perfectly calculated, even when he sort of means it. But since Laios doesn’t get social cues, Kabru gets thrown for a loop.

I get so frustrated when people act like Kabru still hates Laios by the end of the manga!!!!! He killed those corpse retrievers for being corrupt, and yet he couldn’t bring himself to kill Laios. He has such a strong sense of justice, and knew that killing Laios would be a mistake. Because, after meeting him, he could tell he wasn’t actually evil. He’s strange, sure, but not evil.

Kabru DEFINITELY wants to be friends with Laios!! He was not lying about this!!!

But this last comic shows how much Laios wants to be friends with Kabru, too. He’s so nervous after calling Kabru his friend 😭 he doesn’t want to be presumptuous and fuck it up again.

Laios does show an interest in Kabru, at least when Laios thinks he’s interested in eating monsters too. Like,, what was up with THIS

Laios’s gaze is LINGERING. Plus, (this is before that bit at Thistle’s house when he forgets his name) he brings up Kabru when they first form their plan to eat Falin.

And maybe this is just because of my own personal experiences, but Laios reminds me a lot of my own girlfriend. I think they have a similar flavor of gay/aspec & autism combo where, had I not asked her out first, she probably never would have considered being interested in me. But she was very down when I did.

The tricky part about labru is more the political aspect. Regardless of whether you see Laios as aroace or not, he’s in a situation where he will probably get married. He had a fiancée before he was age 13, likely betrothed since he was a baby. He’s already comfortable with the idea of getting married because He’s Supposed To.

However, Laios is king, and could make gay marriage legal if he wanted to (He would probably do this for his sister and Marcille before considering it for himself ). But at the same time, I think Kabru would object to Laios making whatever policies he wants without considering the repercussions of how other kingdoms might react, especially when they’re just getting Melini off the ground and need lots of support from other countries. Laios and Kabru getting gay married anyway and dealing with the aftermath could make for a really compelling story.

I do think Kabru would be a good ruler. He’s already fit for it. He speaks a dozen languages, he knows people and their motivations, and likes politics. The manga already joked about Chilchuck’s daughters trying to marry a king, so it seems like noble blood isn’t too important, but Kabru’s foster family IS nobility. When it comes to heirs, I do like trans Kabru headcanons, but at the same time, I think it’d be cute if they adopt anyway. Kabru seems like he’d have strong feelings about adoption given,,, yknow.

The alternative version of labru to this is Laios gets straight married out of obligation, and Kabru is his mistress hdhdhshsj. I don’t know if I could see Laios doing that? or if Kabru would risk the scandal of being outed as Royal Advisor and Regent trying to seduce the king. I knew people shipped them, and I could see the basis for it while reading, but I wasn’t really sold on it until the very end. There’s something about “I had no desires left. I decided to create new desires, and one of them is you” that’s really charming.

There’s also something funny about “the demon ate my heterosexuality so I’m gay now”

I think it’s interesting that Kabru hates elves. He was raised by them, and he hates them. He hates feeling patronized by them. He made absolutely sure that elves wouldn’t take control over Melini, not just for his sake, but for Rin’s.

But Mithrun’s interactions with Kabru are founded on more mutual respect. Though, that’s not to say that Mithrun doesn’t still have his biases towards short lived races..

Where Laios doesn’t understand social cues, Mithrun does but just doesn’t care. For that reason, I think Kabru would enjoy spending time with Mithrun. It’d give him a break from his compulsion to calculate all of his social interactions. But at the same time, Kabru is the KING at bottling his emotions. Mithrun is blunt, but also doesn’t care enough to pry. If Kabru had anything bothering him, I could imagine him seeking Mithrun’s company to avoid thinking about it. Could make for a fun dynamic.

I do think it’s funny that Milsiril 1) took care of Mithrun for potentially 20 years and 2) is only four years older than him. I imagine this could lead to funny situations.

I don’t ship things for no reason! I think both of these could work platonically, romantically, one-sided, or even “requited but they don’t do anything about it.” Their relationships compel me and I think it’s sort of bad faith to brush off either like they’re nothing more than baseless yaoi pair-the-spares. To me, I see just as much of a foundation in the source material as farcille.

After all, dungeon meshi isn’t a story about romance, but it IS a story about love. It’s a story about life and death and grief and the love that comes with it. Regardless of shipping, these characters love each other!!! And I love talking about it!!

I'll make my own post actually. I think it's an under appreciated detail and piece of characterisation how the courier is buried not only fully clothed but also carrying stimpaks, caps, and their weapon of choice (and we know its THEIR weapon because the game gives you whatever type of weapon you scored highest in with skills). And sure its just a game mechanic thing but they could have just as easily had Doc Mitchell say "here's some stuff of mine to help you out" but he explicitly says "here, this is all you had on you". Also I need you guys to ignore the DLC dumping all that shit on you at the start of the game okay forget about it. I know it's funny but it's not what I'm talking about

It's interesting no matter who you pin this behavior on. If it was Benny preventing the Khans from robbing the courier as they would any raider victim, then that's just another layer of him thinking he's being respectful about the ordeal. Or at the very least enjoys having power over the Khans and ordering them around.

However my headcanon is that it was the Khans who buried the courier in this way. And I say this because they bury the courier in the same way they bury Chance, another Khan whose grave you can find in game, in his armor and with his weapon. And I just think it's fun and interesting to think that these guys who, from the comic we know wanted no real part in any of this and are only here for money, laid the courier to rest in the most respectful way they knew-- like one of theirs.

And actually according to one of the trailers the couriers hands are unbound while in their grave so. And they're still fully clothed. So actually Doc Mitchell giving the courier the vault suit is more likely because he had to dispose of their og clothing because yknow. It'd be filthy from being in the ground and on the couriers comatose body (do you know what the body does when it's comatose. Trust me you don't want those clothes back) and also knowing emergency medicine the courier was probably cut out of their clothes because if you're concerned about a head/neck injury cutting clothes off is less disruptive then trying to wiggle an unconscious person out of them and possibly causing more damage.

Anyway. Either way the Khans and Benny still show more respect to the couriers "dead" body then the courier/you the player show to any of your victims I mean. How many powder gangers did you strip naked and leave to rot under the desert sun? Or legionaries? Or raiders? Or the Khans themselves? Much to think about

- Kyle is a very diligent person, so when he meets you he makes things very clear with you. “I’m not gonna be around much and I’m not looking for anything serious…”

- He’s all about loyalty and honesty and having his own freedom

- But he soon realises after six months of seeing you, that he can do things his own way with you at his side, “Wanna be my girlfriend?”

- “I thought you’d never ask…” And you thought he never would, knowing how Kyle got in his own head sometimes.

- Kyle didn’t know if he wanted to be a dad- he knew he could live life his own way without them but worried that he’d be missing out if he didn’t have them

- He looked confident but is a very logistical person when planning was involved,

- Though he didn’t have much of a choice when he came home to your shared apartment, you sat at the kitchen table. “As gorgeous as ever…” He hummed to you, only faintly able to smile to him. “Hey… what’s wrong? I’ve got no bulletholes in me,” Briging you into a back hug, your hands only weak when holding him.

- You’d only been with him a short amount of time, meeting him through friends but you’d known him as long as you’d been hooking up and dating.

- “I’m pregnant,” his hold on you didn’t frail. You expected him to freak out then and there but you just heard him cry in your ear. “Kyle, you okay?”

- He moved beside you, your head in his hands before dragging you into a crushing kiss. Breathless, “Aren’t you freaked out?” Speaking to him with such concern, this wasn’t like him… not usually. He burst into laughter with the tears. “Who are you and what have you done with Kyle Garrick?”

- “I’m just… so ready to settle down…” Not prying into his work, you knew how stressful it was for him. “With you and our baby…”

- He’s so factual and intellectual that he’s reading up as much as he can, “Taken your folic acid today?” / “I read that in the third trimester you should drink raspberry leaf tea…”

- He’s good like that

- He is researching the best cribs to buy, what kind of decor is best for babies

- Kyle is so prepared that it gives you a headache, “You can relax, yknow…” Rubbing his tense shoulders, “We have six months left to plan all this… just relax baby…”

- HE DOESN’T RELAX

- IN THE SLIGHTEST

- He likes to be in control of situations because then he knows a loose possibility of what to expect

- Indulges your food cravings but was not ready for the boost in sex drive

- He was just so used to how things were before so when you jump him every day of the week… multiple times a day…

- He’s not complaining but he just didn’t expect it

- He has a bottle of water in the bathroom for when your morning sickness comes in.

- Holding your hair back every day before handing you that bottle of water, “Gotta keep up your hydration, babe…” You’ve never been so grateful to have Kyle Garrick as your baby daddy

- Especially at ultrasound appointments, he’s asking as many questions as possible and ignorant to the fact the technician was flirting with him the whole time, “Can we keep this professional, please?” He says to the woman, who does just that.

- Don’t know if Kyle is more a boy dad or girl dad… he’d treat them both the same and with STRONG morals

- You don’t have a gender reveal party- he’s not into that- more of a private ordeal with just the pair of you.

- A family member knew the gender and buys you a cake with coloured sponge.

- He doesn’t cry when he finds out you’re having a girl, he’s BAWLING

- But then he overthinks it, “Shit…”

- “Did you want a boy?”

- His head shook, “She’s gonna be gorgeous, guys are gonna chase after her… I’m never gonna get some peace…” You didn’t know whether he was joking…

- “We have a few years to figure that out…”

- “I’m getting her a badge that says, ‘My dad’s in the Special Forces’…”

- You just burst out laughing at him, “Christ, I’m glad I’m doing this with you…” And you were because Kyle Garrick was the gift that kept on giving

- Never lets you go out alone when your pregnant, he’s so protective

- He’s reaching for shit on the top shelf, no reaching for his lady

- Definitely proposes to you in the countryside during a candlelight dinner on a long weekend

- He’s so delicate with you that night, missionary and kissing you head to toe.

- Holding your hands- matching engagement rings against each other

- He doesn’t know what to do when you go into labour prematurely, he’s freaking out

- Doesn’t know whether to call Price or not… he’s panicking… you called for him to hold your hands so he stopped pacing…

- All anxiety cleared when the cries of your baby girl filtered through. That must have been the first time in Kyle Garrick’s life that’s he felt peace… unconditional love…

- Safe to say, the future boyfriends of your girl were having full background checks and going through SAS selection interrogation…

- He wasn’t going to tell you, you’d stop him. “Don’t even think about it, Kyle… it’s a waste of resources and you’ll have a heart attack…”

- Kyle soon discovers that theory is much different from putting it into practice… especially changing nappies.

- You giggle at him, “I can do it if you want…”

- “No. I’m a Sergeant, I can change a nappy…” He did, not neat or pristine but it would do the job.

- As he practiced, he became a nappy changing master.

- He’s actually adorable with your daughter- speaking in a mix of baby voice and then complex sentence the next minute

- He doesn’t mind if you have more kids, he’s looking to buy a house

- Don’t worry he has it covered- he’s got viewings set up…

- Kyle’s always got you covered as a parent and as a partner

- You just wonder if he’s ready for the announcement of baby number two when your little girl is 6 months
