So Danny is going to blame this on Vlad. Everything was going great, his parents had accepted him, Ellie is home for a while as was Jazz, Vlad was going to ghost-therapy along with Jordan to both get over apparently very bad obsession-sickness, and it was finally summer break! Which meant camping, and no ghost stuff for the first time in forever. 

He should have known everything was going too well, because that’s just the Fenton luck isn’t it? So he was going to blame this entire thing on Vlad, even if it might maybe be his own fault just a little bit. But how was he supposed to know the glowing rock formation that looked sort of like a portal was actually going to do something?! 

Urgh, he’s not going to deal with dimension travel, he already has to deal with time bullshit thanks to his peepaw! At least they’re all in this together and haven’t gotten separated? Ugh. This is going to be annoying.

the way it happened is truly everyone's worst fear, and the episode puts a spotlight on what those fears are. k trying to fix something and fucking it up massively. when she airdrops all her stuff, it didn't feel like "k's still thinking about her network etc", it felt like defeat, giving up the work she was doing as itsy for someone else, cause she's lost all confidence in her ability to fix what she was trying to fix. sam tries to help with magic, and her wand doesn't work, and she's confronted with how helpless she is without it. she hosts a show with magic in the name but when she needs it, when she calls for it, it doesn't come, and without it all she is (all she fears that she is) is just being shiny on the outside with nothing on the inside. jammer having less than a minute to feel grief and fear before he just locks in on what he needs to do, where they need to go, because jammer feels responsible for everyone he cares about so he feels responsible for this, he can't face evan's shadow because he can't fail evan again because he's already failed to be there before. and then evan! having to be rescued, being inconvenient and throwing off their mission, and then coming back with no clothes, is the worst! he's so sad about how his presence is making his friends' lives worse because k and jammer can't even look at him, he tried to help sam in whatever way he can and it just upset her, and then he socially trapped sam into assuring him she cares about him. he has to ask a magic goat a question and he doesn't know how and even though the goat ends up giving him the theoretical right answer, now it's disappointed in him because he used a cop out! very bad no good day for evan. man.

Oh wait, lol, Gilear is Fig's warlock patron. That makes so much sense now. Every time Fig does warlock magic, something unlucky happens to her because that's the equivalent exchange. Fig gets magic and, in return, she absorbs Gilear's bad luck.

It's a contract. That's why there was such a focus on 'unspoken warlock contracts' and how 'they are more common than people think' and how 'they can be based on love', ect in the warlock class! Brennan is setting up the lore for the reveal.

I bet it's going to be that Fig asked her dad to be her warlock patron and she wasn't specific enough. Because Fig has 2.5 dads (legal/kinda-adoptive father, bio father, sorta-step father), so the offer to Gilear was just sorta... there. An open ended contract that Fig accepted in a moment of crisis during the Night Yorb quest.

Now, you might be saying 'How could Gilear possibly be Fig's warlock patron? He's Gilear' and I hear you, I do but it makes sense. Fig is an arch devil! She has the power to make these kinds of contracts. The power, as Brennan said during the warlock class, is coming from her. This is why I think the equivalent exchange part is important because, in a lot of ways, Fig is also Gilear's patron? He would do anything to protect his daughter and he promised that to his arch devil of a daughter (making a contract). He gets good luck and the cost for him is yet unknown to us, but I'm going to guess that it's like.... his health or his life force or something.

It is so gratifying to watch high level final boss combat being hard for other people too, and ESPECIALLY how 'ice feast' is biting brennan in the ass right now -- we're all in it together of homebrew spells backfiring in our dm faces!! 🤣🤣🤣

Last night I had an Into/Across the Spider-verse dream. Almost everything was how it was in the movies and even the scenes had different visual styles to it. The only difference was Gwen Stacy had both parents and they were botanists and super nerdy, and her dad was Fred Armisen so he was extra awkward and nerdy.

Gwen and Miles were in a relationship so they were able to turn his closet door into a dimensional portal so they could visit each other whenever they wanted. But Gwen’s parents stumble upon her closet portal so they get sucked into Miles’ universe and all of them are freaking out, including Miles’ parents who are like “WHO THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE AND WHY ARE YOU HIDING IN OUR SON’S CLOSET?!”

So Miles and Gwen quickly try to calm the situation but not reveal that the Stacy’s have accidentally jumped to a different universe, so they’re like “Oh this is a science project we are doing at Visions Academy. It’s a teleporter. Teleportation saves so much time and money, and it’s better for the environment because you’re not taking a car or bus!”

And Rio and Jeff believe them but they’re still pissed that there’s a teleporter for their son’s girlfriend to travel directly to his bedroom. So Rio’s like “Well since everyone’s here, let’s all stay for dinner and get to know who our children are dating and who raised them.”

But meanwhile Fred Armisen is suspicious of this place and he’s poking his head around and at one point he looks terrified and Mrs. Stacy is like “What’s wrong?”

And he says “The plants. The plants aren’t structurally the same. Something’s wrong!” So he and his wife make a beeline for the closet to try and get back home because he doesn’t know how but he knows they’re not in the right world.

If Kipperlilly DOES end up betraying Porter/Jace as part of a secret other scheme she has (whether good or evil) and it has to do with saving Lucy, I just know she’s going to be a bitch about it and pull a ‘sorry, I only save High Five Heroes’ before leaving her other friends to die or some shit. And then she will take her final form: Magic Betty from Adventure Time, betraying her allies and saving her frost gf at the expense of the world. It would also parallel what Ankarna is going through (‘your girlfriend’s out of town, it sucks’, becoming a little imperialist rage machine under the influence of Porter/Sunstone but not being able to fully turn on Lucy despite going against her values and turning into a violent weirdo). This is my wish. My dream. I am manifesting it. Magic Betty Kipperlilly I believe in you.

Invisible Strings chapter 3

Riz adjusted his neck tie awkwardly as he rang the doorbell to Mordred Manor.

It was funny. He wore his neck tie almost every day and never before felt like it was constricting him so tightly, cutting off his air with every breath. It was funny because normally he wouldn’t even bother ringing the bell to the place where the majority of his friends lived. He was used to just walking in, or crawling through a window if he was feeling silly. The formality of this was strange. 

But Riz also couldn’t make himself just walk in now. Not knowing that Baron was waiting for him. Not knowing that it was in a lot of ways his fault Mordred had an extra tenet. Cohabiting Adaine’s head. The place had already been invaded, Riz didn’t need to add to that.

The door opened after only a few moments, revealing Adaine in a blouse and with her hair pulled up shining her bright blue eyes at him. “Hey, Riz, you’re right on time.”

“A-” Riz cut himself off with a strong bite to his lower lip. They sounded like Adaine- called him just Riz and everything- and had the blue eyes of Adaine but something about her stance was too stiff, her smile too wide. And why would Adaine be smiling, be excited to see him, when it would just mean her getting possessed again? Riz swallowed thickly and stood up a little straighter. “Baron. Hi.”

The smile grew just a little wider, a little more unnaturally held, and Adaine’s bright voice dropped into Baron’s soft melodic tones. “Ah, you are so clever Riz Gukgak. I did not fool you at all.”

Passing the Test chapter 3

Adaine had no idea how to react to that. She hardly earned pity in her life, let alone sympathy.

She was saved by having to answer by one of the Solacien adults, the elven man, stumbling up to the table and laying a hand on the back of Fig’s chair. “Ah, daughter, I have managed to acquire us rooms for the night. Be warned that while in the process I did slip on a banana peel and crashed into a ladder, spilling a bucket of what I can only assume to be glue on my head. My hair is stuck like this now and I'm afraid to touch it.”

Fabian rolled his good eye. “Gilear, you are by far the most pathetic man in the world. It's a wonder you've survived this long.”

Adaine shot him a mortified look as her eyes bounced between the boy and the man, certain she was about to be in the middle of a destructive argument.

But the adult did not react. None of the adults did. In fact the only one that seemed at all upset by the comment was Fig, who stuck her tongue out at Fabian before turning back to her father.

“Thanks Gilear, you did great.”

“I did not, but your compliment is as welcomed as it is untrue.”

And then the interaction ended. Not even a single underhanded remark from the adult to the child. Adaine could have laughed. She had spent such a long time now interacting with only her mother that she had forgotten the way her parents acted was almost ridiculously far from normal. Even before everything went sideways and the problems gained a more… physical flavor the disdain Adaine’s parents seemed to hold for her wasn’t normal.

She had to remember that. Had to cling to it.

She still jumped at every movement from the adults around her. But that was also valid because it was obvious that Fig’s dad seemed to love her, but Adaine was literally someone who they’d been hunting down across multiple countries for who knew how long now.

Adaine continued to rub the soothing ointment into her skin as she kept her head down. They were going to get Aelwyn. They were going to get Aelwyn and then Adaine and her sister could find a way to be safe. That was the plan.

It was going to work.

Cleric and the Princess chapter 3

Adaine shook her head hard, like a dog trying to rid itself of water. “Okay, yes. We’ll tell Aelwyn and suffer the consequences of that. But second rule is that Jawbone cannot, under any circumstances, find out.”

Kristen immediately nodded in agreement but Gorgug tilted his head curiously. “Why not?”

“He’d tell us it was a bad idea,” Kristen explained.

Riz rolled his eyes. “It is a bad idea.”

“Also,” Adaine spoke over him before her voice dropped down again, “I don’t- I don’t want him to know. This is a mess we’ve gotten ourselves into. We’ll fix it before he finds out.”

Kristen continued her steady nodding. “Totally. What does fixing it look like again?”

Adaine sighed hard enough to blow a strand of hair out of her face. “We convince Fallinel not to be racist? You find a different girlfriend? I become a hermit in the woods? I don’t know.”

“No, no, guys no,” Fig said with a wave of her hands to gather their attention back to her, “I know exactly how this needs to go. What are the top things Kristen needs right now?”

“A better breakfast,” Fabian mumbled into his milk.

“A clue board?” Riz hazard a guess.

“Adderall?” Gorgug offered with a tilt of his head.

“No,” Fig said, rolling her eyes so hard her whole head went with it, “she needs to unkill her god by drumming up support and win the school election.”

“Which are, of course, equally important,” Adaine deadpanned.

Fantasy High au that’s been spinning around in my brain:

In Baron’s Game, Baron manages to possess Riz before Adaine’s spell gets to him, killing Riz’s body when the spells recognizes that they’re there instead (ignore health exists ignore ignore).

so Baron takes Riz’s soul and basically tells Riz that if he doesn’t agree to let him basically own it he’s going to destroy it so no one else can have it and he’ll be basically erased from existence.

Once he agrees Baron brings him back and he becomes Baron warlock :) he hates it so much.
