Shop Display Equipment Innovations: Shaping the Future of Retail Space Design
Propelled by the creative integration of shop display equipment and tactics drawn from the idea of a shopfitting warehouse, the retail landscape is undergoing a revolutionary change. The goal of this new era of shop design is not just to create an environment that says volumes about the brand's ethos and purpose, but also to optimise space use, improve customer experience, and drive sales.
Understanding customer behaviour dynamics and utilising cutting-edge design technologies and materials are key components of transforming retail. Modern retail display equipment is essential to this change. These are more than simply shelves or racks; they are smart devices designed to improve visibility, present products in the best possible light, and create interesting areas where consumers are enticed to explore and interact with the brand.
Tumblr media
When aspects from the shopfitting warehouse concept are incorporated into retail design, it results in a significant shift in the way space is seen and utilised. An effective organisation, versatility, and the capacity to adjust to shifting fashions and requirements are often the defining characteristics of a shopfitting warehouse. It is necessary to create spaces that are adaptable and modular in order to include these features into the design of retail stores. These spaces should be able to be readily reconfigured to fit a variety of items, seasons, or promotional activities. This strategy not only makes the most efficient use of available space, but it also guarantees that the store will continue to be active and fresh, which will encourage customers to return.
Another defining characteristic of this new period is the incorporation of technology into the display equipment used in retail stores. The implementation of digital displays, interactive kiosks, and augmented reality is becoming increasingly ubiquitous, so altering the shopping experience into something that is far more immersive and individualised. Customers may easily navigate their way through a store, learn more about the features of a product, and see how a piece of apparel appears on them without having to put it on. All of these capabilities are made possible by technology advancements. This level of contact not only improves the overall experience for the customer, but it also gives retailers vital insights into the preferences and behaviours of their customers.
In addition, sustainability is an essential element in the design of modern retail establishments. Retailers are increasingly adopting environmentally friendly materials and designs in their shop display equipment and overall store layout in response to growing environmental concerns and consumer demand for responsible business practises. This is a response to the fact that consumers are demanding responsibility from businesses. This includes the utilisation of recyclable materials, lighting that is efficient in terms of energy consumption, and designs that reduce waste. Not only are retailers making a contribution to the environment when they include sustainability into their design, but they are also resonating with a consumer base that is more conscientious of their purchasing decisions.
Additionally, the idea of experience retailing is becoming increasingly prominent in the industry. The retail establishment itself transforms into an experience, providing customers with more than simply a selection of products but also an emotional connection to the brand. One way to accomplish this is by hosting in-store events, workshops, or spaces that are specifically built for social interaction. When it comes to the creation of these experiences, the role that shop display equipment plays is quite important since it serves as the backdrop against which these interactions take place. With the intention of fostering not only sales but also brand loyalty, the objective is to produce an experience that customers will remember and associate with the brand.
Tumblr media
Additionally, the new age of retail design lays a significant emphasis on the communication of stories. It is possible for merchants to create a storey about their brand, their products, and their beliefs by employing display equipment in a strategic manner and designing their stores with careful consideration. A more profound emotional connection with customers may be established through the use of this narrative method, which in turn makes the shopping experience more significant. Every aspect of the store's design, whether it be the layout, the materials used, or the way things are exhibited, contributes to this storey, which engages customers on a more personal level. This involves the layout, the materials used, and the way products are displayed.
To sum up, the revolution in retail store design is a complex trend aimed at designing locations that are experiences, destinations that pique the senses, and places to build relationships. At the core of this change is the creative use of store display equipment, which takes inspiration from the adaptability and efficiency of a shopfitting firm or a warehouse. In addition to incorporating technology, demonstrating a dedication to sustainability, and emphasising experiential retailing and storytelling, this new era of store design is redefining the retail landscape. It's evidence of how design will continue to shape retail in the future, as each square foot offers a chance to inspire, engage, and establish a connection with customers.

Maximize Efficiency with Industrial Racks for Warehouse: Improve Storage and Inventory Management
In all industrial or retail settings, having a systematic warehouse is essential for efficient operations. A warehouse racking system  is one of the best methods to improveStorage ability and simplify inventory management. These systems offer a Structured method to store items, allowing companies to make the most of their space while also ensuring User-friendly access  to products.
Advantages of Utilizing a Warehouse Racking System
Space Efficiency:
The Major advantage of a racking system is its capacity to efficiently use vertical space. Installing tall racks in businesses can help create more space on the floor, which can then be utilized for different operations or storing more inventory.
Enhanced inventory control:
Efficient racking systems enable orderly product arrangement. By assigning specific spots for every item, it is simpler to monitor inventory levels, lowering the risk of having too much or too little stock. This company also improves picking operations, enabling staff to efficiently and swiftly retrieve items.
Improved Security:
Ensuring safety within warehouses is crucial, and a structured shelving system can reduce potential hazards. By storing items securely and off the ground, businesses can decrease tripping hazards and enhance safety for employees. Furthermore, effective labeling and organization in the racking system is essential to avoid accidents and injuries while working.
Tumblr media
Racking that is twice the normal depth.
This system is created to enhance storage capacity by enabling pallets to be stored in pairs. Businesses with a high quantity of uniform items benefit from using specialized forklifts to access pallets in the rear row. Utilizing double deep racking allows for optimal use of vertical space without compromising inventory accessibility, balancing efficiency and ease of access.
Conclusion
Implementing a warehouse racking system is a Planned move for Organizations looking to enhance storage efficiency, improve inventory management, and maintain a safe working environment. By Selecting the right racking services tailored to your warehouse’s specific needs, you can create an organized space that supports operational success and drives productivity. Allocating in a warehouse racking system is not just about storing goods; it’s about Improving your entire operation for future growth.

Boutique Mod - DOWNLOAD
Inspired by the sims 2 shopping for clothes system, I present a sims 3 take on buying clothes, accessories and running a thriving boutique! Set up shifts, keep the racks stocked, and you might find yourself in profit!
Required:
Ambitions
NRAAS Master Controller + Integration Module
Optional:
ITF if you want to use the clothes mannequin and some visual effects.
Late Night if you want the animations for the security guard.
Seasons for extra interactions on the mannequin.
Savvy Seller Set for some visual and audio effects.
Full Documentation is included in the download. I spent a while writing it out, so please read thoroughly!
Tumblr media
How Stores Work:
Set up a shift
Hire Employees (bosses count as employees so stores are fully functional with only one sim!)
Link at least one rack to the register
Open for business!
Tumblr media
Employees:
Store employees can be given three types of roles: register attendant, sales attendant and security guard.
Employees will do their jobs automatically but you can always manually tell them to do things too like: restocking, dressing up mannequins, helping customers, among other things.
Tumblr media
Customers:
Inactive and active sims can browse through the racks and have the ability to purchase items. They'll interact differently depending on if they are shopping at a clothes rack, accessory rack, or at a mannequin.
Inactives won't purchase outfits from mannequins unless you direct them to (or you enable auto-purchasing in the XML). However, they may "fake" buy clothes.
Once finished shopping, customers hold their bags and wait to be rung up! Take too long and they may abandon their purchase.
Shopping:
Adjust prices and restrict customers by age and gender to customise your store!
Tumblr media
Clothes Racks:
Buy Clothes for your own sim, sims in your household, or (if you're an employee) suggest clothes for customers.
Employees that suggest clothes for customers can fulfil Ambition Stylist jobs this way.
Tumblr media
Accessories Racks:
Choose accessories to be sold by adding them to the XML in the package file. The XML comes loaded with a few base game items already plus a couple modded items (Arsil's Sunglasses and lipstick - that won't be loaded unless you have them installed).
Sell buy-mode items as well as CAS items!
Make your CAS items wearable from your sim's inventory using your own meshes or my dummy accessory (see Documentation and XML for details).
Blacklist certain categories from being shown. If you want a dedicated shoe shop or an opticians, you can have it!
Try on products before buying them to see if they suit your sim. If there's a mirror in the room, they'll check themselves out in it.
Tumblr media
Clothing Mannequin:
Try on the mannequin outfits to see if they suit your sim.
Plan different outfits to display and even set them to be rotated through seasonally.
Let your employees be creative and choose a random outfit for the mannequin to wear.
Buy clothes for your own sim, household members, or customers.
Allow or disallow inactives from automatically purchasing display outfits.
Tumblr media
Security Gates:
Give your security guards something to stand and look threatening by.
You can try your luck at stealing from the shop. If you're caught, you'll have to pay up. If you get past the gates (or if there are no gates), enjoy your bounty!
Boutique Door:
Cloned from the Savvy Seller doors without the annoying 'kick-every-last-person-out-the-building-come-closing-time' feature.
Link this to a register and let the open and close sign automatically flip itself. Also, close the store or rename it, straight from the door.
Phone Interactions:
Ask for time off work (paid or unpaid).
Call in sick.
Cancel vacation days.
Tumblr media
Credits and Thanks:
@dhalsims for adding geostates to the ITF rack for me. Modders, I really recommend her if you need any 3D models made also!
DouglasVeiga for the BG rack with the geostates.
@aroundthesims for allowing me to use her objects in my mod as always!
Sims 4 for all the animations that I converted.
Simstate & merchant mods for the idea to go into a mode to link racks to the register.
The OG shop for clothes mod and pedestal by @anitmb.
Arsil and @zoeoe-sims for wearable CAS items idea that I adapted.
Ani's Candle mod & Amb. Makeover XML which I looked at for inspo on how to do accessory rack xml.
Compatibility:
All new objects so shouldn't conflict with anything really.
Removes the 'plan outfit' interaction from dressers.
Made on version 1.67.
Tumblr media
If you would like to donate as thanks, please feel free to do so at: my kofi! I don't take your generosity for granted!
Download: - Simblr.cc - 2t3 Boutique Mod Suggested Extra CC: - Lyralei's TS2 Conversions (incl. clothes changing booth) - More ATS3 Security Gates - ATS3 Friperie Set
Known issues, prop information and the full feature breakdown are all in the documentation.
Please be patient with me if there are bugs to fix. Also, anyone who DMs me "I don't know how to create a new shift" will be immediately fined £150.
With that said, please enjoy the mod and tag me in your beautiful boutiques,
Phoebe :)

Tired of the laundry piling up? Simply place a "Laundry-Begone-Box" on your lot and your Sims will no longer generate laundry!
Laundry Global Mod
The global mod is the backbone of the laundry system. You will need it in order to have your sims produce laundry. As it is a Global Mod, it is in its own rar. The Laundry Mod also has various trait-related features for you to enjoy:
Support for the Nevernude, Neat and Slob trait
Support for the following custom lifestates: Ghost, Mermaid & SkeleBro

Just a small overview of the features offered:
Laundromat mode: run your own laundromat business at home or on a community lot! Sims will actually wash their dirty laundry! Of course, it works for visiting Sims too!
NEW: @anachronisims Big Spender Trait now effects the likelihood of a Sim using a laundromat machine
NEW: Stock your washer or tub with a detergent of your choice; no longer will you need an entire box of detergent for a small load, now one detergent will last multiple loads!

NEW: The fabulous @jellymeduza has created a fantastic little ceiling rack for drying your laundry

I keep reading reviews of Indika, and I'm astounded by how many people have called the points and leveling a drawback of the game. "The points and leveling are pointless," they say. I want to reach through my screen, gently grab each reviewer by the shoulders, shake them slightly, and say "Observing religious convention in a secular world doesn't have material consequences. The Points Are Pointless, and that's the Point."
At a certain level juncture, you have a choice.
Level up - GUILT: gain twelve points now. A short term gain for a short term emotion. Feel bad about something specific, get a little nod of approval from the orthodox tradition that views guilt as constructive.
Level up - SHAME: Point multiplier. Gain extra points from each action in the future. A long term gain for a long term emotion. Feel like shit about the fact that you exist, and you're being pious. Rack up stores in heaven with interest.
It's genius commentary on the emotional and psychological handcuffs that religious institutions use to control believers. Gamers follow directions without questioning the dubious language of the leveling, because that's how games work: level up enough and gain control over the outcome of the game. This is also how religion works. Obey the laws of the institution, and eventually you'll feel secure in it. We, the player, are conditioned by the medium of video games to trust the point system. Indika, the nun, is conditioned by the institution of orthodoxy to trust the church.
The devs posit that being virtuous doesn't mean anything outside of the system that decides what's virtuous. You don't get points for filling the kettle by the refectory because your superiors don't value you. Religious icons are scattered across the map, neglected, forgotten, but as you collect them your points increase. The holy relic you spend most of the game trying to find is an empty box. Lighting a candle by an icon of Mary is functionally identical to lighting a candle by a portrait of Marx. You can save a man's life, but it won't make number go up, because he'll hate you for it.
You don't get power or insight or protection from your score. You just get the chance to gather points a little faster. The pointlessness is the core of the mechanic. That's why it keeps showing up on the loading screens. Don't waste your time. It's good advice! Number go up, number go down, your agency over your circumstances - or lack thereof - never changes.
I think video game reviewers need to play Indika again. I think they should read everything twice. Think about the flavor text for each inventory item. Dwell in front of each lit candle after points are collected, and consider the surrounding environment. A woman kneels on her husband's grave. She tells you he wasn't loved. You light a candle in his memory; why? Notice where Indika loses ten points, or one hundred, or several thousand. Consider why points are only lost when another person does something to her.
Indika's prayers can only get her so far across the map. In the crane puzzle, she literally dismantles a literal church, rearranging it so that she can lead Ilya to his goal. It's impressive, but in the end it doesn't accomplish anything.
The pointlessness is the point. The level names are logical inside the bounds of the church, and nonsensical everywhere else. The Kudetsk is empty. The voices are all your own.
Let go. Wake up.

Welcome to the Lube Chute!
Some We're-A-Package-Deal Summer Job Stobin crack, dedicated to @griefabyss69. Also shout out to @wynnyfryd who said the Lube Chute sounded like the location of Stobin's next fail summer job after Family Video got destroyed. "No, I'm telling you, Steve. We have to say it every time."
"We have to say, 'Welcome to the Lube Chute, where our main goal is fillin' all your holes,' every time?"
"Every time." Robin shrugged her shoulders. "It's the whole 'ocean of flavor' thing all over again." She'd started at the Lube Chute a week before him, owing to his need to hover over Eddie while his body knitted itself back together. By the time Steve had decided Eddie could get to the fridge and the bathroom on his own, she had been deemed competent enough to show him the register and inventory procedures.
"Yeah, except 'ocean of flavor' was about ice cream," Steve said. "And this is about, you know, rubber dicks."
"That's the way of stupid retail, huh." Robin sighed dramatically and hopped upon the counter. Next to her sat an open box of flavored lubes. She picked up a pricing gun and started affixing them with stickers.
A few minutes later, the door dinged with the sound of someone pushing their way into the shop. A regular-looking latino man in jeans and a faded Zeppelin tee stepped into the shop.
Steve gave Robin a pleading look, and she pulled her lips thin in sympathy and mouthed, "sorry, your turn." God. Welp. He may as well rip off the Band-Aid.
"Welcome to the Lube Chute," Steve said flatly, "where our goal is fillin' holes."
The guy snorted softly and went on his way, moving toward a rack of adult video tapes. Meanwhile, Robin kept her head down, looking pointedly to where she'd slapped a $.3.99 label onto a bottle of Maxxx Slick Strawberry.
"Like obviously I don't care," she said. "But it is 'where our main goal is fillin' all your holes.'"
"Ugh." Steve rolled his eyes up at the ceiling. "Why is it, like, so long?"
Curling his chin back around, he found the customer at the counter holding Dr. Lovesmuscles's Foot Long Schlong. The customer looked between it and Steve before raising his eyebrows. Shit and fuck. For the first time in literally ever, Steve wished he was back in those tiny Scoops shorts.
"I wasn't... I didn't mean the... I..." Steve stared at the guy over the counter and then gave up on trying to explain, punching things into the register as fast as he could so he could end the interaction. "So for the video and the toy, that comes to $18.39 with tax."
Steve made made change for a $20, put the guy's things into a nondescript brown paper bag, and then bit back a groan when he realized he had to embarrass himself one more time before it was all over.
"Thank you for visiting the Lube Chute. Remember if the base ain't flared, it doesn't go up there. Have a nice day!"
Next to him, Robin coughed into her elbow. When Steve looked over, he found her reading the back of one of the lube bottles, this one watermelon flavored.
"What do you think potassium sorbate even is?" Robin asked. "I mean, I know what potassium is. I passed chem and got into college—go Wildcats. Just... potassium sorbate. What does it even do?"
Steve stared at her for a long moment and then snatched the pricing gun from her hand. #
It was late July. August loomed and with it so did the end of possibly their last summer job together. After this, they were both slated to leave Hawkins. Robin to Northwestern, Steve to Chicago to be near her (and because it made sense as a base for Eddie to work on growing his music career.)
On this particular Wednesday, they had a huge shipment of video tapes to go through. Other than the scantily clad and sometimes fully nude women on the covers, it felt a lot like being back at Family Video. They quickly priced and stocked the tapes that were for sale, and then they worked on storing the covers for the rentals and putting them in the rental cases and then into the system.
"God, Steve, I am just, like, so gay," Robin whispered under her breath for the fifth or sixth time as she stared wide-eyed at a VHS cover. On it, a redheaded woman stared into the camera, her breasts exposed, her hand disappearing down the front of her very thin white panties. "You do know you can just, like, check one of these out, right?" Steve asked. "You're an adult. No one would—" Steve cut himself off when the bell over the door jingled. Jumping at the sound, Robin almost dropped the tape, fumbling with it several times before Steve snatched it from the air and handed it back to her. She was blushing hard when she went to put it into the computer.
One crisis averted, Steve turned toward the door to find one of the owners coming in. Shit.
Steve had slacked off on the welcome and goodbye phrases over the course of the summer because, well, he didn't want to say them. And now he wasn't sure he even remembered them properly. Shit, shit, shit.
He smiled and nodded as the owner approached the counter. Stephanie was a sleek, blonde woman who looked nothing like the kind of person you might expect to own a sex shop.
"Order come in okay?" she asked.
"Oh, uh, one damaged tape so far," Steve said. "Definitely an improvement over the last order."
'If the base is too...' No, that wasn't it.
"Love to hear that since I spent 3 hours yelling at the distributor after that incident."
'Where we fill holes for...' Definitely not.
"Yeah, right, sucked for us too beca—" Steve froze as a customer walked into the shop. He looked over at Robin, hoping to catch her eyes for a save, but she was laser-focused on sorting another box of tapes into alphabetical order for processing.
Fuck. Steve smiled at the incoming customer. Okay, he could do this. Deep breath, winning smile. "Welcome to the Lube Chute, where our main goal is fillin' all your holes."
Robin inhaled a deep gasp right around the same time that Stephanie burst into raucous laughter, throwing her head back and exposing her slender throat. In another life where he wasn't already tits over ass for Eddie Munson, he would've had to fall a little in love with her.
"Oh my God, that is too good." Stephanie wiped tears form her eyes with her thumbs and then giggled a few more times. "Jesus, Steve. Did you come up with that on your own?"
"Wha—?" Steve snapped his eyes over to Robin, who had her teeth set in grimace that would have been comedic at any other time. Shoulders pulled up around her ears, her eyes bled with apology.
Steve clenched his jaw and turned back to Stephanie, slipping into the most suave persona he could muster under those conditions. "Oh, you know, just thought you'd get a kick out of it."
"Well, you were right about that." Stephanie shook her head and grabbed the money bag to take it to the bank. "'Fillin' holes!" She laughed again on her way out the door.
Steve watched like a hawk as her car pulled out of the parking lot and then rounded on Robin, voice low as the customer browsed the "New Videos!" display.
"You told me we HAD to say..."
"Oh my God, I was gonna tell you after, like, a week, but then you stopped doing it on your own, so I just kinda..." Robin made a wobbly gesture with both hands, and Steve sighed deeply.
"You're walking home today," he said, but they both knew he didn't mean it, especially when his lunch break rolled around and he saved her half his orange as usual. # It was still July, and they could see the customer approaching from the parking lot. "Steve," Robin said. "Steve, please." "I want to point out that it's your own fault that you have to do this now, officially, as part of company policy. Because Stephanie liked it so much." "Steve, but..." Steve jutted his hip out against the counter and crossed his arms, waiting. With the same put-upon sigh he'd grown used to at Scoops and Family Video, Robin drew herself up taller and slapped her hands down on either side of the register. Through the front door, a fat woman with curly brown hair stepped into the shop. Robin beamed at her. "Welcome to the Lube Chute! Where our main goal is fillin' all your holes."

a beautiful movies friendship :)
(page 313-324)
Tumblr media
I've had turntechGodhead for four days and MAN does this guy love his best friend. That post above is really how Dave acts with the whole 'John's gonna be so excited to hear that I have apple juice'. He clearly loves the birthday gift John got him to the point of saving the packaging and wearing the sunglasses indoors, seemingly regularly, anywhere from days to months after his actual birthday. And he remembered the thing John's excited about and asked about it, even though he personally doesn't give a shit.
It's extremely good because we've seen John be a total loser for 300 pages while TG messages him all 'hey i'm great at the sylladex AND i'm cool and have good taste' and now suddenly it's flipped, we're seeing Dave tempted to bleat like a goat and piss on his turntables and navigate a horrifying inventory system, while John is positioned as the cool one.
Seeing Dave from this perspective unmasks him right away. Being 'cool' can be lonely, if Dave is always acting like everyone else's interests are stupid and putting up six layers of ironic subtleties, he's not going to make a lot of genuine connections. John is probably his one really good friend, so it's not surprising that Dave is so clingy towards John. So it's neat that we see their first conversation again, now from Dave's perspective, and with our own new context for their friendship.
In other news, we've gone back in time a few hours in the story, and we have some geography clues. We know Rose lives in EST, John lives at least two timezones west of Rose, and John lives exactly two timezones west of Dave. Assuming they all live in the US, this puts Dave in either Eastern or Central time, and John in either Mountain or Pacific time. We also know it's hot where Dave lives. What I'm saying is, I think Dave's from Florida, and specifically from a very tourist heavy area, and he's developed his Cool Guy personality to distinguish himself as A Local and therefore better than them.
Because Dave already has some sylladex and strife specibus experience (learned from his brother?) I wonder if his Sword Display Rack is a strife deck upgrade. Something to toggle between physical and digital storage of weapons could be useful for fighting and great for decoration.
Dave has installed Pesterchum 7.0, a newer and shinier version of John's 6.0, and he has some new mood options - Chummy, Insolent, Smooth, Mystified, Bemused, Pleasant, Amazed, Pranky and of course Rancorous. John needs to get this new update, because I am so sad he doesn't have Pranky. I think this would fix some of his problems.

Transforming Clutter to Efficiency: Revolutionizing Storage with Inventory Shelving Systems
The difficulty of maximising space in any location, whether it be a home, workplace, or industrial setting, require solutions that are both innovative and adapted to the specific needs of the environment. In order to make effective use of space, it is not enough to just store more things; rather, it is necessary to optimise the area in terms of accessibility, organisation, and functionality. Inventory shelving systems and custom fitting solutions are essential to accomplishing this goal because they have the ability to transform crowded and cramped rooms into models of efficiency and convenience from which to operate.
1. The development of several types of shelving systems for inventory
Shelving solutions for inventory have undergone substantial development over the course of time. In the beginning, they were straightforward, static units; but, in the present day, they are dynamic systems that are meant to adapt to a variety of areas and requirements. Not only do contemporary shelving systems serve the purpose of keeping objects, but they also contribute to the improvement of the accessibility and retrievability of the items that are stored. Mobile shelving units, which are able to be moved around with ease. Modular shelving units, which can be tailored to match specific dimensions and storage requirements, are two examples of the several different types of shelving systems that are available.
One of the most attractive aspects of these systems is their capacity to make the most of vertical space, which is a resource that is typically neglected. Through the process of growing upwards, inventory shelving systems have the potential to significantly enhance storage capacity without causing an increase in the footprint of the storage area. Especially advantageous in urban environments, where floor space is sometimes scarce and expensive, this is a significant advantage.
Tumblr media
2. Custom Fitting Solutions: An Approach Tailored to Your Needs
In order to address the specific issues that are brought about by the various storage requirements and areas, custom fitting solutions are the answer. These solutions entail the creation of storage units that are fabricated in such a way as to conform to the required dimensions and specifications of a particular area. When it comes to locations that have irregular shapes or where space is at a premium, this method is absolutely necessary. There is no room for dead space when custom solutions are used since they guarantee that every square inch of space is utilised efficiently.
For instance, in a house, under-stair areas, corners, and alcoves can be converted into useful storage spaces with the implementation of bespoke fitting solutions. It is possible to employ these solutions in offices to construct filing systems that are able to fit perfectly into the areas that are available, so improving the organisation and productivity of the workspace.
3. The incorporation of technological solutions into storage applications
The incorporation of technology into storage solutions is a significant step forward in the industry. With the stroke of a button, automated shelving systems that are fitted with sensors and motors are able to move and retrieve goods from their respective locations. The use of this technology not only helps save time but also lessens the strain that is placed on the body when lifting large objects physically. Inventory management systems that are coupled with shelving solutions are able to track stock levels in large warehouses. This helps to ensure efficient inventory management and reduces the danger of either overstocking or stockouts.
4. Repercussions on the Environment and Long-Term Sustainability
The concept of sustainability is also becoming increasingly important in contemporary storage solutions. In the construction of shelving units, the utilisation of environmentally friendly materials and the implementation of technologies that are efficient in terms of energy consumption are becoming typical practises. In addition, the optimization of space results in a reduction in the requirement for larger buildings, which in turn results in a reduction in the environmental imprint.
5. Customization and adaptability are essential components of storage that is future-proof.
Customization and adaptability are going to be the keys to effective storage and space utilisation in the future. It is necessary for storage solutions to evolve in tandem with the development of both needs and technologies. It is absolutely necessary to have the ability to adjust and adapt storage systems. Systems that include adjustable shelves, modular components that can be adjusted, and units that can be enlarged or reduced in size are prime examples of the flexibility that can be found in these types of systems.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
To summarise, the optimization of space through the implementation of customised storage and fitting innovations is not merely a matter of convenience; rather, it is an absolute requirement in our world, which is becoming increasingly space-constrained. When it comes to making the most of the space we have, inventory shelving systems and customized fitting solutions offer techniques that are not only efficient but also adaptive and environmentally friendly. The storage solutions that we use will become increasingly more advanced as technology continues to advance, which will further revolutionise the way in which we store and access our inventory, supplies, and possessions. The future of storage will be one in which the constraints of space will no longer be an obstacle, but rather an opportunity for creative construction and effective use of resources.

cm dev log #3 - january 2024
january was pretty good! i got a lot done this past month, including but not limited to the basic structure of my combat system. let’s take a look!
there’s a lot of things that went into this, so let’s break em all down. when in combat mode, the player uses the cursor to aim and left clicks to shoot. currently i have three different weapons to choose from, each with a different number and spread of shots. both the player and their enemies display their HP (the numerical format is a placeholder, hoping to eventually figure out hp bars), lose HP when touched by a damaging object, and die when their HP ≤ 0. enemies chase the player (some faster than others). if the player takes damage, they flash red to indicate as such & become invincible for the next second and a half.
Tumblr media
i also made my combat test room larger, which has been helpful (shocker)
initially i was pretty worried about coding all of this but it was actually kind of a breeze…? i’m definitely getting a lot better at understanding & working with GML’s syntax, which is really satisfying. i didn’t encounter as many funny errors this past month, it’s been a lot more of writing code and then refining it rather than writing code, then fixing it, then refining it.
around this point i noticed that if i entered a room to pick up an item, left that room, & then went back in, the item would respawn back to its original position. this wasn’t a glitch, it’s just how gamemaker works by default, so i got to work on some simple saving/loading scripts: basically just telling gamemaker what potential changes to a room it needed to keep track of & when to call for them. to be honest this kind of thing is a lot harder to show off in a dev log… but it’s important work, so i’m happy i did it! i finished up the save/load system by implementing a proper “full game save/load”, what you would normally think about when someone talks about saving & loading.
Tumblr media
woah, the save section of the in-game menu does something now!
the full game save/load code is basically a more elaborate version of the room-to-room save/loads: telling gamemaker what it needs to keep track of and when to recall it. to be honest i do not really understand the save/load code itself….. something something JSON… it was copied from a tutorial <3 but it works, which is what matters! honestly the most difficult part here was integrating it all into my in-game menu system, though even that wasn’t too bad because i was able to reuse a lot of the code i wrote for the inventory.
the last thing i did this month was start on my sound effects management system. i wouldn’t consider it “finished” but i have some really good bones for it i think! i whipped up a few sfx in vcv rack and they’ve implemented nicely. it’s crazy how much of a difference a few sounds can make: i haven’t really changed any of the sprites since their conception but already the combat feels a lot juicier.
at this point i’m getting to a place where i want to start tackling the gameplay and implementation of everything i’ve built: creating rooms, mapping out worlds, tiling, introducing npcs, etc. i have a lot of systems in place but almost nothing resembling the actual game. this has been totally fine so far—i’m glad to have these systems! but i feel confident enough now that i really want to get started on actual play. by april i’m hoping to have something of a rough playtest, maybe the first 10-20 minutes of the game… but we’ll see how everything pans out!
in the meantime, i have work to do, as always :^) see you next month!

Sunday Records, 2022.
It’s early June and I’m in the middle of eleven days off from work. I cannot tell you how stunning these last few weeks have been for me. For the first time in a long time I’ve been feeling great about many things. I have been at the top of my game. Relaxed, tranquil, and level like never before. I went to Sacred Bones’ 15th Anniversary and experienced a feeling like no other. I’ve met a few friends from the alternative-music circle whom I haven’t seen in years. I’ve been tasked to do an amazing amount of summer radio shows at WUSB. The Roman goth girl who’ve I’ve been in contact with since February taught me to face my fears, to not be afraid of bad news, and see the greatest, truest value in people. It’s not even halfway to June and I feel something great is yet to happen.
I’ve been spending money on music without worry. It’s a winner-take-all tour of Long Island’s record stores and at this point I’ve hit up three so far with astonishing results. Sunday Records would be my fourth on the list to visit and it had to be. It’s my only Sunday off in the foreseeable future and, still true to its name, only opens on that one day. I didn’t have a choice, did I? It took me only 30 minutes to get there and closing time was 5PM. It’s 2PM as I walked through those doors so I had three hours to Autobahn it through the entire store. No shelf or rack was left unsifted by me.
The layout of Sunday Records hasn’t changed one bit. Nothing’s re-arranged. Upper wall racks of 7” singles and 45’s hovered above the 12” vinyl bins. There was a maze of LP’s front to back, side to side, and in the middle. What also hasn’t changed was the owner’s system of classifying records unique to the store. If not a genre, it’s chart position, week, and radio station. Brian (the owner) was obsessive to detail and nostalgic like that. Then again, so am I.
There’s a section on the front left side of the entrance. It’s where the electronic, dusty classics, and un-priced arrivals sections were. Less than .01% of its stock was electronic and I sure wasn’t going to waste time sifting through Fifties and Sixties jazz greats. I just knew. I turn to my right and there were plenty of funk, groove, and R&B LP’s and 12” singled there. I looked under the bins and there were boxes of records not priced out. That’s where I found various hip-hop and rap singles, uncharacteristic for a store that specialized in vintage jazz, Seventies radio rock, and everything Eighties. It was all fair game and I took what I could. Unstickered singles by Black Moon, Big Daddy Kane, Kurtis Blow, Jeru The Damaja, Fu-Schnickens, Double XX Posse, and an early pre-fame DMX e.p. (“Born Loser”). I knew Brian wasn’t the type who was into West Coast jams or boombox anthems and made me think why he took them in the first place. No matter. It was a lucky out for someone like me to easily stock up on hip-hop and rap vinyl.
Now the 45’s. Sunday Records was always good with pricing them on the cheap. What I purchased in 7” singles from West Babylon’s Looney Tunes, I tripled that here. These 7” singles of Eighties hits from my Atari / Nintendo childhood meant not having to purchase full albums for one or two songs. Why not acquire them? Plenty of synth-pop, new wave, and pop rock. One 7” I might have passed up the last time around was Re-Flex’ “The Politics Of Dancing”. The single that gave me these Sunday vibes was finally in my hands. This visit’s surprises? Gary Numan’s “I Die: You Die” b/w “Down In The Park” and Killing Joke’s “Adorations” for $4.00. Then I came across The Normal’s “T.V. OD” b/w “Warm Leatherette” The good news was that I discovered it. The bad news? It was a $14.00 hit…and without an original artwork sleeve. The price you pay to take home synthpop history.
When that was over, I took a deep breathe and dove into all the vinyl inventory. The great thing about Brian was that almost nothing was out of place. He’s incredibly meticulous in that everything was in alphabetical order and with almost nothing in the wrong bin. Also with Looney Tunes, a good amount of records were alphabetized or sorted by artist, allowing me to fly right over large chunks of sections and straight to the others. What wasn’t hip-hop / rap and categorized by chart position, week, and radio station ended up on the lesser expensive side. Like the 45’s, I sped through furiously through the LP bins and acquired a lot of hits from my childhood. A recent discovery now in my hands? Captain Sensible’s “Wot” for $5.00.
And what I made up in value, I would lose later with some essential finds. That’s even avoiding the new vinyl section. Towards the end of searching was where it started to hurt. The least of my worries? The Cars’ Panorama for $8.00. The Shirts’ debut and Anti-Nowhere League’s The Perfect Crime for $9.00 each. But that’s not all. I found essentials in The Young Gods and Pere Ubu where it stopped at the $10.00.
Now the heavy stuff. No one remembers or know who The Innocent was. The Roman goth girl I mentioned earlier? She’s insanely obsessed with Tent Reznor. While doing a Nine Inch Nails run, I learned he was part of said band right after leaving Option 30. The Innocent’s only album was found in one of the bins and I grabbed it for $14.00. Had I not known about them, I would’ve zipped past it without even knowing. One album I passed up during my last record-store tour was Cabaret Voltaire’s The Crackdown. I found it twice in unopened condition for $20.00 at several stores and gave it up at least twice, thinking I could l buy it for less. Well, four years later I was right on that one. I finally found it again and for $14.00 opened I wasn’t going to pass it up a second time. While there, Sunday Records still maintained a good selection of other industrial and related releases. They had more Cabaret Voltaire records including The Pressure Company (!) and even the new ones (Shadow Of Fear and Dekadrone) which I was impressed that Brian carried. Front 242 e.p.’s were also in the bins and several Ministry records starting with Work For Love (the overseas pressing of With Sympathy), some Twitch-era singles, and all the way up to Psalm 69.
Here comes another unexpected hit in the kneecaps: Kraftwerk’s The Man-Machine for $20.00. Any time I buy Kraftwerk on vinyl I pay that price; nothing less. That’s how much I paid for a used copy of Radio-Aktivitat at a record fair held in Amityville’s veteran hall. Again, take no chances. Finally, a record that I hoped to find in the wild because it was so good: The Raveonettes’ Pe’ahi; $20.00 asking price. Decisions had to be made but not necessarily now. I held on to it for the time being, having to decide to take it now or pass it up and find it again somewhere else for less. Looks like I will take my chances.
It’s not an understatement when I say this, but 99.99% of Sunday’s stock was all vinyl. The other .01% were used cassettes and CDs placed right near its listening station at the front-right of the entrance. I passed it all up as nothing there interested me. So far, Sunday- is the only store where it was all vinyl.
Ten minutes to closing. It’s about time to make some decisions. Brian greeted me and started counting everything up. Of the 75 I had in my arms, I gave five back to him including the Raveonettes album. He was amazed. He tried selling it back to me because he also knew it was a great album. Oh, I agreed. But as I told each and every one of you, I held off just in case. His laptop lost its’ juice so there was no easy way for him to add it all up and keep track of what he sold me. He ended up taking photos of everything I bought and took him about a good fifteen minutes to calculate it all. Then I gave in. I’d take the Raveonettes’ album after all. Take no chances, right?
“You should come here more often!” he told me in an exasperated manner. “Really?” I laughed. It’s not every year that I do this, Brian. I’d try real hard to keep up if I did. Now I knew why he said that.
“That’ll come to $348.00”. Yikes. That was at least triple of what I spent at my last visit here. I was sweating like Rodney Dangerfield on his worst night. (Plot twist: he never had one.) Despite Brian giving me all the hip-hop records for $20.00, the other records made up for it. No coupons, either. But, I had all the confidence in the suburbs to spend with no worry. The stack was so hefty that Brian got me a box from the back to hold all the 12” records in and bagged all of my 45’s so that they wouldn’t slip out of position. I was relieved in the end to nail that Sunday like I wanted to. But the day wasn’t over yet.
After I thanked Brian for everything, I loaded my purchase in the trunk. I had plans on seeing Candy, a Jewish ginger whom I haven’t seen since we left Brentwood. She has a family-owned restaurant out in Calverton and I promised I’d visit the next time I was nearby. I went west on Route 25 and started the peaceful, sunny journey to her eatery. It’s not every day I’m out in Riverhead or Calverton. I took all the time in the world driving through the scenic route of vast farmland and sparse local businesses along the long, quiet roads; ready to catch up with her and walk down a beautiful but bittersweet and tattered memory lane.

Optimize Your Space with Modern Warehouse Racking Systems
A warehouse is a well-organized and planned space used to manage a company's merchandise. To effectively design a warehouse or distribution center, it is important to consider its purpose and desired outcomes, especially for your pallet racking.
Key Factors in Warehouse Layout Design
With that in mind, the following factors should be taken into account for the layout of our warehouse, depending on the product type and company characteristics:
A good storage system offers a range of benefits, including access to a vast number of references on pallets, as well as direct access to smaller references.
With the ability to constantly relocate items based on seasonal demand and group together similar lines, our system ensures maximum efficiency. Our pickers can work at top speed without interference from other pickers or stock replacements, allowing for seamless operations.
Additionally, you can monitor your stock in real-time and have full visibility of all products and references.
Racking systems and handling equipment are designed for optimal ergonomics, while our physical locations allow for easy placement of products based on their stock depletion levels (high, medium, or low).
All of this needs to be achieved at a controlled cost with a guaranteed return on investment. Plus, our maintenance services are designed to be profitable and we offer the flexibility to enable shift work as needed.
And, should your needs expand in the future with more references, pallets or picking units, our system can easily be extended and modified accordingly.
Components of a Warehouse or Distribution Centre's Layout
What are the components of a warehouse or distribution center's layout?
An essential aspect of the design of a warehouse or distribution center is its layout, which involves planning the distribution and organization of both external and internal spaces.
This process can have a significant impact on the supply chain, whether it is due to the acquisition of a new warehouse, expansion, or remodeling. The efficiency of managing stocks stored in the warehouse must be reflected in its layout, such as for storing raw materials or finished products.
The design should encompass multiple elements, including the interior and exterior arrangement of the warehouse, the number of floors, installations (electrical, architectural, ventilation), environmental conditions, safety measures, and industrial racking systems for different areas.
Key Components in Warehouse Layouts
Every efficient warehouse, no matter the size or industry, requires a set of key components that serve as the foundation for its layout. These components must be strategically placed and organized to ensure optimal efficiency for the entire operation. It is crucial to carefully consider the layout within each component, as they all play a role in the overall efficiency of the warehouse. Let's take a look at the essential components that should be included and well-arranged in any warehouse layout.
Receiving Area
The unloading, checking in, and sorting of incoming shipments takes place in the receiving area, located within the warehouse. This area is usually connected to a receiving bay, allowing for convenient access for trucks and vehicles delivering goods. Ideally, the receiving area should be situated next to the storage area for efficient movement of incoming items to their designated places.
Storage Area
The inventory is stored in a designated area until it is needed for order fulfillment. This storage space needs to be both orderly and easily accessible, with direct access to the receiving and packing areas.
Common features of a storage area include pallet racks and shelving units specifically used for storing inventory. By ensuring an efficient layout, the storage area can effectively minimize travel time, increase order picking precision, and improve overall inventory management efficiency.
Packing Area
The packing area is where orders are prepared for shipment after being selected. It is usually located adjacent to the storage area and shipping bay. To expedite the shipping process, packing areas should prioritize increased efficiency and precision while also prioritizing the well-being and safety of workers.
Shipping Area
The shipping area is where outgoing orders are processed and readied for delivery. Situated within the warehouse, it is the opposite of the receiving area. The location typically includes a connection to a shipping bay on one side and direct entry to the parking area on the other.
Efficient warehouse designs take into consideration ample space in the shipping area for tasks such as pallet wrapping and using machinery like pallet jacks and forklifts. Additionally, there is a room designated for organizing completed orders that will soon be transported by truck for distribution.
Facility Support Areas
Facility support areas, including restrooms, employee break rooms, and management offices, play a vital role in the daily functioning of the facility. Restrooms need to be conveniently located for workers, while office space should be situated near receiving and/or shipping areas to facilitate tasks such as processing invoices, communicating with clients, suppliers, and logistics companies, and managing other day-to-day responsibilities.
Conclusion
In conclusion, whether your business operates on a small scale or requires large-scale storage, Complete Warehouse Solutions in Lake Illawarra, NSW 2528, has the expertise to provide tailored warehouse racking solutions. With our commitment to maximizing space and improving efficiency, we can help you streamline your operations and boost productivity.

The Ultimate Guide to Sneaker Collecting: Tips and Tricks
Tumblr media
In the world of fashion and footwear, sneaker collecting has emerged as a thriving subculture. From classic trainers to limited-edition releases, sneakers have evolved from athletic gear to coveted collectibles. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just starting out, this ultimate guide will provide you with valuable tips and tricks to elevate your sneaker collection game.
Start with Research
Before diving headfirst into sneaker collecting, take the time to research the history and culture behind different sneaker brands and styles. Familiarize yourself with iconic releases, collaborations, and trends that have shaped the sneaker landscape. Follow sneaker blogs, forums, and social media accounts to stay updated on the latest releases and insider information.
Define Your Style
Sneaker collecting is a personal journey that reflects your unique taste and style. Determine what types of sneakers resonate with you, whether it's classic retro styles, modern running shoes, or trendy women's sneakers. Consider factors such as color, silhouette, and brand affinity to curate a collection that speaks to your individual preferences.
Quality Over Quantity
When building your sneaker collection, prioritize quality over quantity. Instead of amassing a large number of sneakers, focus on acquiring timeless pieces and limited-edition releases that hold both aesthetic and sentimental value. Invest in well-crafted sneakers made from premium materials, as they tend to withstand the test of time and retain their resale value.
Stay Organized
As your sneaker collection grows, staying organized becomes crucial for easy access and maintenance. Consider investing in storage solutions such as shoe racks, display cases, or clear plastic boxes to keep your sneakers neatly organized and protected from dust and damage. Create a catalog or inventory system to track your collection, including details such as brand, model, colorway, and condition.
Cultivate Connections
Networking within the sneaker community can open doors to exclusive releases, collaborations, and insider knowledge. Attend sneaker conventions, trade shows, and local meetups to connect with fellow collectors, enthusiasts, and industry insiders. Engage in online communities and forums to share your passion for sneakers, exchange information, and discover new opportunities.
Embrace Collaborations
Collaborations between sneaker brands, designers, artists, and celebrities have become a driving force in the sneaker industry. Keep an eye out for limited-edition collaborations that fuse fashion, art, and culture into unique sneaker releases. Collaborations often feature innovative designs, premium materials, and storytelling elements that add value and intrigue to your collection.
Know Your Market
Understanding the resale market is essential for navigating the world of sneaker collecting, especially when hunting for rare or sought-after releases. Research resale platforms such as StockX, GOAT, and eBay to gauge market prices, demand trends, and authentication guidelines. Exercise caution when purchasing sneakers from third-party sellers and always verify authenticity to avoid counterfeit products.
Preserve and Protect
Proper care and maintenance are essential for preserving the condition and value of your sneaker collection. Store your sneakers in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight and moisture to prevent yellowing, discoloration, and deterioration. Clean your sneakers regularly using gentle cleaning solutions and avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning methods.
Enjoy the Journey
Above all, remember that sneaker collecting is a journey meant to be enjoyed. Whether you're hunting for rare grails, showcasing your collection on social media, or simply admiring your favorite pairs, savor the experience and passion that comes with being a sneaker collector. paying my bills, by which i mean buying cds... i've exhausted the inventory of one record store's used rack. there's another one near my new apartment that i haven't been to yet. but i know none of them are going to have the cds i want, some of which (1.8.7. quality rolls) i'm going to have to actually buy off discogs. hilariously i do have an account there but i've never done anything to import my collection (thousand-line spreadsheet), i've only used it to contribute new album pages. this is also why discogs says leikeli47 acrylic was pressed to cd when it WASN'T she's never released ANY cds as far as i can tell. but this did fool me for a minute when i went looking until i realized the problem is that i wrote the page. i could have sworn she had some listed on her website once but i only bought the hat instead and now it's down and not on archive.org. and while we're on the subject why did y'all let her flop i want an explanation for real. man. she was my most streamed artist for a couple years running so i guess i've paid my bills there but like what if i wanted to listen to it in the car. yes i still have a cdr drive on my linux system but it's not the same. because my handwriting is bad. what am i supposed to do, buy a cd label printer? that's absurd
