sometimes, when i go out with my friends or something, I always buy coffee if there's a cafe nearby. i drink coffee almost as much as water. and mine is pretty normal, a honey almond milk flat white will do the trick. except, i always add 1 or 2 extra shots of espresso. and AFTER those two shots, I put in 2 more packets of sugar and mix it all up. when i get this, people normally except a very sweet honey almond milk flat white, but sometimes, they don't hear me putting my order. so they dont know i have 2 shots of espresso in it. they come up to me and ask, "can i have a sip?" and i always say "yeah sure" and i never tell them about the espresso part. if they ask me what it is, i just tell them its a honey almond milk flat white with extra sugar and something else. and they drink it, and the face they make when they take a sip is always nice to see.

Some photoshopped NEO Joshuas and some Composer versions cause I was feeling rusty. Plus some before and after gifs cause it was cool seeing the changes.

The Composer versions are actual redraws but for the human forms I just drew on top of the anime screenshots cause I was feeling lazy and wanted to try and keep the anime feel. I thought it might be easier but honestly I don't think it was because of the gradients they use on top.

Tagging @rainbow-nijisaki and @black-quadrant since apparently we were all thinking of anime NEO Joshua about the same time. I was doing Composer form redraws from anime screenshots when the redraws were first posted by rainbow-nijisaki, (so if you like these and you haven't seen those ones, please go check them out!) which inspired me to try some human NEO Joshuas. I guess we had anime related Joshuas on the mind!

Ao no Flag (SERIES FINALE SPOILERS!!)

Seriously, don’t read this if you are planning to read Ao no Flag. That being said, go read the manga now!!

Finally finished reading Ao no Flag and I have so many feelings. Non-coherent, rambly, messy feelings. I was looking at reactions online and what mainly boggles me about the reactions to the final 2 chapters is people being “how is Taichi suddenly gay??” My friend living on this big planet he never was (he’s bi). He most likely just realized it later in life. Did the events of his 3rd HS year help him figure it out? Heck yes. Is he suddenly bi? No.

Not all queer people pop out into this world and instantly know they are queer. Heck, it took me 23 years to figure that out. It’s not like Taichi instantly realized he likes Touma and started dating him. He knew Touma mattered to him somehow, but it took him multiple years to realize how, as evident by him maybe starting his relationship with Touma after 5 years when Touma contacted them all. He gained life experience and grew.

People go through a lot of learning, unlearning and growing. Especially if you are outside of societal expectations and norms. Taichi grew up learning to and wanting to blend in with society. “Be normal, don’t stand out too much”. Add to that low self-confidence and you feel stuck. Feel like there is only black and white. only one right answer to life. It can be very difficult to look out of this dark box, trust me, I had a tough time and sometimes still do. But it feels like Taichi thought and thought and pondered even back in high school and came to the decisions that he did.

And isn’t that what the series is about? growing as a person, making mistakes, learning, allowing yourself to be visible and vulnerable, and eventually, making choices, even if they don’t make sense to anyone else, and continuing to do so?

These two pages really hit me hard and I was wondering why. And then it hit me. This is possibly the happiest I’ve seen Taichi be since his childhood. Like genuinely happy. He’s reached max happiness points and is sharing those with Touma. He’s made his choices, and he’s happy. You can and are allowed to choose what or who makes you happy.

That’s all that matters.

While I'm still riding the Xenoblade X hyperfixation, let me just use it to talk gender identity some more.

Between deciding on my current Cross design back during last December and where I am now (i.e. feeling that I'm probably a Woman But A Bit To The Side), I initially did have the plan of just switch between the male design and the female one. But even though I kept those two looking as close to each other as possible, there was always something that I didn't quite like about the male one on a very basic level, and something that I just couldn't put my finger on, let alone fix. Somewhere down the line, I decided to also make myself smaller builds for both, as an alternative to switch to. So, "Young Boy" instead of "Boy", and "Girl" instead of "Woman". For the female Cross, that worked out well enough, and I still have the design I came up with for that saved in-game, even if I have taken no screenshots. But with the male Cross? For the life of me, I could not put together a design that I even remotely liked. Absolutely nothing felt right, even though on principle, I guess I preferred the younger looking face over my actual "main" male Cross (which even then, I almost never used). In the end, I just gave up that whole design process entirely. I guess that only really serves to show that I'm really not off in my current self-perception. . .

like yall really genuinly think this is the only way a character can look to be considered feminine

and then will turn around and argue a woman in heels and full makeup is actually masc bc she what? wore jeans? (this goes double for non white women who are held to a much higher scrutiny)

ive seen this in so many fandom spaces. and some of you guys really have such a binary and sad outlook on gender and gender expression and really genuinly hate anything that isnt within a strict gender binary. and then will frame white women in dresses as being so "subversive and feminine when all female characters are masculine nowadays"

literally you guys hate masc women so much that any woman not in a dress 24/7 is "too masculine" in your eyes
