Hello! I'm sorry, but today (November 19th) is International Men's Day!

But, um. It's a day to spread awareness over the struggles that men face in this society today. Things like homelessness, domestic abuse, alienation from their parental roles, suicide, & other acts & diservices against them.

So, yeah. I appreciate you! We may not have met or really know you, but I appreciate the talks that you bring to the Tumblr space because goodness knows we need more even halfway sane people on here!

You have a lot of interesting things to say, so I wouldn't be shocked to learn that you have women in your IRL life who also legitimately appreciate you, too!

Anyway, sorry if that was weird. God bless you & yours!

a popular meme page on instagram posted a happy international men's day post and the comments were filled with "waiting for all the angry feminists" "comments from toxic women" "women will want half of this too" "single moms in the comments about to go feral" etc. except not one woman commented anything like that. there were a few "who cares" comments and they were all by males 😭😭😭.

I'll make a more detailed post later but for now happy women's day to Maria Antonietta Avanzo who was refused a seat in a team in 1921 because they "wanted all cars to make it to the finish line" only to be later accepted and arrive 3rd in her cathegory, giving Tazio Nuvolari a hard time.

Happy women's day to Ada Pace, who stood on the podium alone because the 2nd and 3rd classified drivers could not tolerate standing on a step lower than a woman.

Happy women's day to Maria Teresa De Filippis, the first woman to drive in F1, who could not race in France because the organizer told her " the only helmet a woman should wear is a hairdresser's".
