Matt cupped his brother's shoulder and smiled at him. "No worries, brother. I don't think you're blowing me off. It's not a problem." He chuckled at Marcus words. "I don't blame you one bit. Happy wife, happy life, right?"

“We can do this another time. I was just in the area. I don’t have anything of importance, just wanted to give you a break from work if you could get away.” Matt smiled at his brother. “And wanted to see how lyra and the kids are all doing. But if you’re busy I’ll leave you to it and try another time.”

“it’s not creepy.  It’s cute.  I’m cute.”  He licked his lips.

“Come on, Lulu.  You know I can’t just leave you here.  Let’s get you up.”  

“Nope, really, just uh, just leave me here. I’ll be good.”

“Do I look amused?”

Matt shook his head at his brother. “Yeah I know that better than most. Can I convince you to take a break and come get fish and chips with me? Just wanted to catch up, if you have time.”

Matt smiled softly on thanks. He knew he had a few people who would miss him if he were taken, but it was nice hearing that Irene would be one of those people. "I pity anyone who would try to stop you." He kissed the top of her head.

Matt smiled softly.  “No they definitely couldn’t handle you.”  he rubbed her shoulders, hands trailing up and down her arms to try and comfort her.  “But if they did want you… I wouldn’t stop looking until I found you.”

Matt chuckled at Irene's request. "I'm not sure I'm the best person to go along with you if you want me to keep you from getting all of he pets. But I'll do my best to limit you to just one." He shook his head. "Ready to go find your new companion?"

Pet Adventure: Matthew and Irene

Matt shook his head at his brother. "Yeah I know that better than most. Can I convince you to take a break and come get fish and chips with me? Just wanted to catch up, if you have time."

“Trouble?” he asked as he watched the person leave.  “I think you made her cry.  I was going to ask how things are going, but I think I know the answer to that.”

Matt nodded his head "sounds like a plan. And I can get you caught up on some of the work I've been doing with the students."

Matt chuckled at Nathaniel’s words.  “Okay, I can agree to that.”  He chuckled.  “Maybe after work tonight, we can go into Hogsmeade and grab some of that after work nectar.”

Matt chuckled at his sister but decided she had had enough teasing. He stepped between Marlene and the bird and shooed the feathered creature away. "There, it's gone now."

Matt chuckled at his sister.  “It must like you.  Aww come on, Marlene, she’s cute, look at her beady eyes and hooked beak and those ruffled feathers.”  He loved teasing his sister.

“Trouble?” he asked as he watched the person leave.  “I think you made her cry.  I was going to ask how things are going, but I think I know the answer to that.”  

“Do I really look like I care if I’m not being nice? If you have nothing to offer, just go.”

Matt smiled softly.  “No they definitely couldn’t handle you.”  he rubbed her shoulders, hands trailing up and down her arms to try and comfort her.  “But if they did want you... I wouldn’t stop looking until I found you.”  

Irene rested her head on his shoulder curling more into his arms. “They wouldn’t want me. I’ve got the soul of a dragon they couldn’t handle me.” She smiled up at him, trying to make light of the situation, but it had plagued her lately given her bloodstatus.

Matt easily spotted Irene and walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her and brushing his lips against hers.  “Hi love.  I’m good, how are you doing?”  Matt was bubbling with joy for Irene and her prospective new pet.  He had almost gotten a puppy.  He still really wanted a pet, but things had been crazy and he had worried about not being able to give the pet the proper care while he was so busy.  He knew that Irene felt the same way, but a pet for her was a great idea now that she was back in London and he was happy to help her.  

Pet Adventure: Matthew and Irene

Irene was waiting inside the Leaky Cauldron for Matt.  She had put a lot of thought into getting a pet since her conversation with Lyra.  Growing up Iry had always had a pet. Her parents had thought it was important to have some sort stability in her life since they moved so often for her father’s mission trips.  She had had two dogs, three cats, and an owl, which was added when she was eleven.  Since she had been on her own Iry hadn’t had a pet, not wanting to worry about them getting hurt or lost while she was traveling or worse having to put them in a kennel whenever she traveled. Now since her traveling seemed to have slowed down for a Irene was ready to have a pet again. She had asked Matt to come with her to make sure she didn’t take all of the animals home with her.  Glancing up, she spotted Matt and walked over to him. “How are you, dear?” she asked as she embraced him.

Matt chuckled at Nathaniel’s words.  “Okay, I can agree to that.”  He chuckled.  “Maybe after work tonight, we can go into Hogsmeade and grab some of that after work nectar.” 

“Hmm that’s a fair point.  Lets say that coffee is the before work nectar and brandy is the after work nectar.” He laughed.

Matt chuckled at Nathaniel’s words.  “I’m not sure I agree.  I always thought it was Dragon Barrel Brandy.”  

“The nectar of the gods is truly coffee.”

Matthew wrapped his arms around Irene and kissed the top of her head.  “I don’t know what I would do if you went missing.”  

“Its a terrible thing to see so many people going missing lately.”
