Perpetrator? or the next victim?

Tim is working on a case where a series of accidents have been happening that have all landed the victims into comas. The police don't seem suspicious of it but Tim sees it differently. They are all random people, but when looking at the photos/video footage taking during the accident. Tim has noticed a common variable.

the new barista from his usual coffee shop, Danny, is always somewhere in the background.

Now Tim has two theories.

Theory 1: Danny is the perpetrator!

Something that Tim is not a fan of because Danny is the only one that gets him his coffee order without any questions and evens adds more espresso when he asks for it.

Theory 2: Danny is going to be the next victim!

this is based on that Danny is the intended victim of whatever the heck is happening and that the victims in the coma were just caught in the crossfire. This is also not something that he wants because Danny is genuinely a pretty nice guy to talk to.

So what can Tim Drake do?

Stay by Danny's side of course!

Take his time with finishing work at the coffee shop.

Conversing with Danny whenever business was slow.

Hanging out with Danny at times.

Asking him out to dinner-wait what?

Meanwhile

Danny is in Gotham because he's helping Constantine with some evil Demon business.

The demon's been targeting certain people and Danny's job is to hold onto the people's souls until the demon is dealt with by Constantine. When that's done he'll return everybody's souls back to their body. No harm done!

And he's even making a friend with that guy who also drinks the coffee on steroids beverage he made.

Plus Constantine told the vigilantes of Gotham that he was there to help so there's no problem of him being there right?

And she's wearing mimosa flowers in her hair ! It's a very widespread tree here, and it's used during carnival for the flower battle :D also it's very pretty and my favorite flower

The background is in Klein's blue shade ! Found it funny to include a nod to an artist from Nice known for his shade of blue in a Miku drawing

The little Miku is doing the Jul sign, Jul being one of the most popular french rapper (and he's from Marseille, the biggest town in the south)

the thing i keep running up against in discussions around Prioritising Your Well-being is that it keeps getting framed as an act of Dastardly Hyperindividualism in opposition to Our Glorious Collectivism. but that's... that's a false dichotomy. i'm not saying nobody has ever used "self care" as an excuse to be cruel, but like if you really want to be collectivist and organized, being able to care for yourself and knowing your limits is a vital skill. it's sustainable.

taking on more suffering than strictly necessary does not serve the collective. going hungry makes you cranky and unpleasant. trauma fogs up your conflict resolution skills. breaking your body breaks your body. taking on too much work does not make you more productive. i think the insistence on martyring yourself is far more hyperindividualist than prioritising yourself when you need to

putting aside being sad about binghe for now, I was looking for the first time sqq directly compares binghe to a maiden, and as far as I can tell, the first time he calls him a maiden is this part:

To push him away during this moment would be like giving a young maiden -- one who'd finally worked up the courage to call and brokenheartedly weep to an older sister for comfort and encouragement -- a face-turning slap. It was really a bit cruel. (Chapter 11 in vol. 2 of the English translation)

this stands out to me because this is shortly after he finally realized binghe is attracted to him, while he's still grappling with the fact that he's "turned binghe gay." it's yet another example of sqq equating being gay with femininity -- he knows binghe is into men now, and thus begins him repeatedly referring to binghe's behavior as that of a maiden's

but the other thing that stands out to me about this quote is that sqq is also making himself a girl in this metaphor. I know the translation is probably lacking here and he's probably using jiejie to mean generic older female friend as opposed to jiejie meaning older sister, but still. shen qingqiu, why are both of you girls in this mental metaphor. hello. shen qingqiu are you aware that making both of you girls does not make it any less gay. shen qingqiu are you listening to me. shen qingqiu yes it's still gay when you're both girls

AU where Iroh convinces Zuko to be the next Fire Lord MUCH earlier in the series. Zuko, who hasn't been in formal education since was 13yo, understandably panics. He barely remembers his lessons on How To Be the Fire Lord, and they were all focused on how to rule during wartime. Not peace. What does an international peace treaty even LOOK like and how does one go about making it???? How does trade work when you're NOT trying to eradicate every other nation????

Book 3 Zuko spends all of his time teaching Aang firebending, interrogating the other members about their culture's traditions and politics, going on Blue Spirit journeys to raid any passing libraries, and reading everything he can get his hands on. He barely eats. He doesn't sleep. He's info dumping about the DRIEST political texts. The gaang are THIS close to holding an intervention or having Toph sit on him until he sleeps.

Bruce hates social media, they are a security risk to his paranoid self, but also, Brucie Wayne needs to have social media.

And it cannot be a simple corporate account handled by his pr. No, Brucie Wayne is a himbo, there's nothing professional about his social media accounts. It's pictures of parties, of him being pretty, him being pretty with models, him being pretty on the other side of the world... It is also a good alibi. He posted a picture of himself being airlifted in the Alps, his pretty (tanned??? Gothamites can get tan now???) face smiling at the camera, with the caption "oopsie! Hurt myself while backcountry skiing!" But in reality, he fought Killer Crocs yesterday and the rogue broke his leg.

He is the kind of accounts couples fight about when they discover the other is following them. "Denial is a river in Egypt, your husband is gay" has been posted more than once in respond to women posting about learning their husbands are avid Brucie followers.

He refuses to let the PR team in charge of his account (better alibi if everybody knows he is in charge), which is a nightmare for his PR team and lawyers.

Brucie is known for loving his kids a lot, but he never post pictures of them or with them. They are always cut-out. It's very clear it's to protect them to everyone. Minor or not, Bruce is not posting a picture of his kid online. But, he sometimes rants about one of them in the caption of his posts. The captions are always small unless he is ranting about his kids. People find it so wholesome. His kids have no idea because he is blocked to all of them (did it himself + Barbara helped later on), because they really much don't want to see the comments thirsting about Bruce, and all these pictures.
