just wanted to specify amd correct some things as an autist that watches my little pony like almost every single day, actually. No exaggeration. Anyway:

-The racism monsters actually only appear when the ponies are too racist to each other, though they are absent from G5 and their names are very close to an american indigenous word you are not supposed to say.

-I do think there are reasons why the G5 movie is bad related to the pony racism that I think is only made worse by tying it into G4 and I think people are more mad about that and the wiping away of the new status quo it does in the process than just "the ponies being racist"

-There is an episode where an envoy of yak diplomats comes to equestria and they try really hard to make them feel at home with pieces of their culture with the lesson learned being that they aren't able to understand the nuances of their culture and shouldn't try to imitate it and should instead share parts of their own culture with the yaks

-I don't think that episode with Yona was about subjugating her into pony culture it was a part of a wider plot to impress a pony boy she was going to like, magic-school-prom with by following pony beauty standards and manners with the lesson being that he doesn't care if she does and likes her for her

-its a fucking kids show theyre not "sending out missionaries" or teaching "superior pony values" its friendship its fucking friendship they're teaching people about friendship because Twilight Sparkle is The Princess of Friendship thats her fucking job to spread Friendship As A Concept throughout the realm thats why she built the school because seasons 1-8 was her learning about friendship and teaching others about it and became the Authority On Friendship in equestria she basically has a masters degree in being friends and getting along with people and wanted to build a school that taught these lessons en masse.

-there was like 1 guy on the school board who disagreed with the school being integrated who has a change of heart after being rescued by the main group of students the story focuses on in the school

And like, also, I don't think anyone is actually "racist" in my little pony if you look at what racism actually is, nobody is being systemically oppressed in equestria, there are episodes throughout the show written about things like unfamiliar people and situations, interacting with people whose culture differs from your own and other similar lessons and because the ponies are characters in a children's show and not real life adults. They are going to act in ways that we would deem inappropriate for an adult to act towards people who look or act different from them because thematically, they are demonstrating a situation that a child might encounter with less knowledge and emotional intelligence than an adult would have.

They don't for example, shun Zecora and spread rumors that she's a witch because the writers of MLP want to show that the mane 6 and ponyville are a bunch of backwards racists but to tell a story about how just because someone seems strange or scary to you at first because of the way they look and act, doesn't mean that they actually are. Later in the series they approach versions of this issue in different scenarios and angles and from the standpoint of writing a show for children, that's really good.

I think one valid point to bring up is what the series does with the character Daring Do who starts out as essentially, rainbow dash's self insert while fantasizing as she reads a series of pulp action novels Twilight lent her that was later just turned into a real pony which came with a lot of messy foibles, mostly, going from making her essentially a fictional pastiche of indiana jones in-universe to a pony that was actively stealing artifacts from indigenous cultural sites, and they do end up having an episode addressing this that I thought was very awkward and stilted because maybe it's difficult to teach about imperialism with kid gloves on, maybe the episode could've been written a lot better or made at a time that wasn't literally when the series was just about to end for good. Not to mention if it is even appropriate how they sometimes depict these indigenous people Daring Do is taking from.

There is racism in My Little Pony I think would be productive to discuss in a serious light, but this upset over children's cartoon characters doing things to set up lessons about why things like racism is bad or using such a heavy-handed term to describe things as light as a joke about a reaccuring pun or god forbid, wanting to teach people different from you about friendship is some outrageous overly-padded-video-essay type shit and I wish we'd stop making jokes about tumblr having poor reading comprehension and start actually improving our reading comprehension instead of cobbling together reasons to make fun of a cartoon because it sounds vaguely righteous and leftist on a surface level reading to a userbase that will agree with anything that sounds vaguely righteous and leftist.

i'm gonna be honest i don't get why they say everypony instead of everybody in mlp. it's not like the word everybody is human-specific. the ponies have bodies. the word everypony, however, is pony-specific in a world where ponies are not the only people in their society, which means it would be more accurate and inclusive to use everybody instead of everypony. it all makes no sense to me

Out of all fanon interpretations of characters do you have any you like ? This isn’t to say you don’t like the canon character tho I’m just curious if there’s any fanon interpretations you like? (Sorry if that sounds rude didn’t intend for it to be)

Fun fact: I generally don’t mind fanon interpretations, and I genuinely do love to see them

It’s just certain interpretations are simply not for me

For example, I love when people portray Killer as a silly hyperactive never shuts up kinda guy

This interpretation in itself isn’t bad and I actually genuinely love it, the problem that can make me hate this specific interpretation is when Killer is portrayed as a child, treated extremely badly like an annoying child by other characters, and is generally perceived as someone who shouldn’t have an opinion or open his mouth

That may come as a surprise, but it stems from an ableist view of characters that are thought to have ADHD, god forbid a character be hyperactive and loves to be social, you’re now an annoying child that should be put on a leash, you can never ever be reliable or intelligent just because you’re hyperactive

You can have the interpretation of Killer being a hyperactive talkative skelle without treating him badly

I also love when people portray Murder as a quite guy with zero energy and even mute/ selectively mute, it’s not the interpretation I’d go with, but I do still love it and adore it

I love the interpretation of Error always being a grumpy bastard, even when I generally wouldn’t portray him as such

And I definitely love the interpretation of Bluberry being extra cutesy uwu kinda guy, and recently there have been an influx of Blue and Bluberry being friends which I ADORE

My problem with fanon interpretations most of the time doesn’t stem from the interpretation itself, but rather, how that character is treated in that interpretation

For example, I always say that I hate perverted Killer, and I absolutely do, but I hate it mostly because Killer is reduced to that one trait, other characters? Nah they’re treated as complex individuals with many layers, killer?? Fuck that guy let’s just slap a trope onto him that doesn’t even suit him and actually suits other characters better and that’s all that Killer deserves, to be a cardboard cutout

So to conclude, I don’t hate fanon interpretations for the interpretations themselves, but because of how characters are usually treated in said interpretations

Doesn’t mean I hate all fanon interpretations, nor does it mean I love all of them, just depending on how the character is treated in the interpretation, I could love or hate it

COMIC!SCOUT X DILF LOVER!READER (SFW)

-In the beginning, you met Scout working as a mercenary and while you joined the last out of the 10, you quickly became good friends. Being the 2nd youngest out of the 10, you and Scout had more in common. Comic books, TV shows, action figures, collecting cards. As a skilled defense, you worked well with Scout. Scout created a distraction long enough for you to knock the enemy Soldier from behind. Or for him to grab the intelligence while watching his flank. Then there was always celebrating wins together with spiked Bonk! on a late afternoon.

-Over time, you wanted the one you could’t have. The unrequited crush he had  on Miss Pauling, who you felt would not like him back considering she devoted 10 years of her life to a woman, made you feel sad. And Spy noticed those nights you spent sitting alone in the common area, morphing into color to tell you that this was all pointless. You only shrugged. You couldn’t help who you were attracted to. The fabric of his gloves brushed along woven cloth as he moved from his hand from his head to his eyes and rubbed them. Reassuringly, Spy told you you were an open book and Jeremy can’t read. As stupid as it sounded, he was right

-Most of the team, some uncaring for it, knew you liked Scout. And it wasn’t that you acted like an idiot in front of him or that you flirted or even act jealous when Miss Pauling was around, you did none of that. It was how you looked at him. You looked past all of his stupidity and his overconfidence and you saw how he actually was. A sore loser who wanted to be liked. He told you all of the things that bothered him; how he couldn’t kill that one dumb Blu Sniper that keeps getting a hit on him no matter what you two strategized and how he viewed the other mercenaries as the family he missed back in Boston. He was oddly sacred when it came to his family. He liked not being alone and being around the loud and despite being the least strong, being capable of helping out his team and getting the chance to prove himself. And how everyone knew that you saw him as something other than a Masshole. And they really, really doubted you.  

-Down the line, with the help of Soldier, Miss Pauling found the scarce Australium thought to be gone from the Earth. After getting out of Australia, you found yourself in the maw of the Administrator and the many other teams of mercenaries. After the purpose of the entire manhunt for this element was found to be futile, you moved on. That was it. Moving on in life after the administrator was dusted was difficult. A harsh reality that the 9 other guys you started to see as people other than your coworkers, you would most likely not see again. It’s wasn’t so bad though; you got a good job, still did the things you loved, had a good social life too. You just missed one thing very much, your friend. 

-It was a shock when you found Soldier in your apartment when you came home from work. He gave you a big ol hug that knocked the wind out of you while two weights held your legs down to Earth. Two kids? Zhanna and Doe had children?! Soldier quickly brushed you off, saying that Merasmus wanted to hurry and explained that you were the only one the rest of the team couldn’t find. You were the only smart one who threatened to sue unless you were given a compensation package and a new identity. You were taken, not by choice, though you didn’t complain, to the city of Boston.

-When you arrived with the entirety of Heavy and now Soldier’s family, it was on the steps of the boy you used to know well. Honestly, you were nervous, but excited. You had already caught up with Heavy and Medic the whole car ride there. Drifting to the back of the line as Heavy entered with the turkey the unattended Miss Pauling bought the team and Soldier’s kids practically dashed under the legs of everyone. Then you saw him. His hair all shagged out and his face with no traces of his 20’s anywhere. His eyes widened and a smile grew. 

“You goober! I thought I wasn’t gonna see ya tonight!” He said as he pulled you into a squeezed hug. 

It lasted for a couple more seconds before Scout looked down. A little boy tugging at his legs. 

“Daddy, can me and Patton and Georgia go play outside?” A small boy with yellow goggles on his face asked.

“Hmm, I dunno. Dinners about ta start. Why don’t you wait until after dinner, alright?” Jeremy ruffled the boy’s hair. 

“Alright dad!” He ran off back into the kitchen.

You were honestly kind of surprised. You knew he wanted a family, but you never expected how good of a father he would be. His kid didn’t seem to throw a fit about waiting, instead just listening to him. Your crush just got revamped entirely. Your mind became moments of the days you spent on the rooftop talking about his Ma and his family. It seemed weird to be passionate about, but the impression was given that he wanted to have kids of his own to take care of and be a better father than the man who was absent. Giggling was loud in the living room where you saw 5 more kids, two of which were Soldier’s. 

“You have 4 children?!” 

Jeremy only laughed. “You too, huh? Yeah, everyone’s so shocked.”

“I mean, it has been 7 years.” 

“Yeah, but that just means we got lots of catchin’ up, huh?” He punched your arm.

“For starters, where’s your lucky wife? You nudged his side, smirking.

“Got none. All deadbeats, the last three. Doesn’t matter, they’re my kids and I’m gonna raise ‘em right.” 

Despite the circumstances that you wish were much better for the children’s well-being, this just got so much better for you. 

“But I love my lil boogers.” 

He ran up behind the running girl who had a purple skirt and a grey sweater on. He picked her up under her arms and brought her to his face. 

“Isn’t that right, my lil booger?” He kissed the girl’s cheek and she giggled more.

He set her down gently and make an explosion noise. Another girl, a redhead, came up and asked if she could be exploded and you chuckled. But he did it, he lifted her up, gave her a peck on the forehead and set her down making a crashing noise. He was really good with kids. Maybe you would take him up on that offer to catch up.

-Eventually and habitually, you often visited his home on the weekends. He wasn’t really a fan of leaving the kids home alone, so he liked having you over for dinner. He has a recipe book his mom got him that he uses almost every time he makes dinner. She copied all of the recipes from their family, saving the originals and made them into a book for him when his family visited for Christmas (After the holiday party with the team). They are some of the most delicious foods ever. 

-During the spring, he brought out the toy cars for his kids to run around with in the backyard. While he was inside making lemonade, the brown haired girl, Tanya, ran up to you. 

“(Name)! (Name)! We need someone to be the helpless victim to Tommy’s castle.” She shook your arm, her balaclava that was way too large for her face flopped around as she did so. 

“I guess I’ll have to be saved by the princess assassin once again.” You woed dramatically as she dragged you along to Tommy’s little sandbox. 

Tommy had a plastic knights mask on, one he got for Christmas as he has told you ecstatically many times. Jeremy was a good listener when it came to his kids, since he was the youngest of 8 and was mostly given hand-me-downs and mostly unintentionally ignored at times by his Ma. So, since he has half the kids and more free time due to being technically in early retirement, he makes sure all of his kids get what they want. They are a little spoiled.

You were behind the green closed sandbox, where Tommy has “captured” you. You pretended to be tied up, with the imaginary chains behind your back. Tanya, Andy, the curly haired boy and Sierra, the redheaded girl, were huddled up and talking in hushed voices. Andy had on a red cape and his yellow goggles. You could never get him to take those things off.

“So we’re gonna tackle him?” Sierra asked.

“Duh!” Tanya exclaimed.

“Ok!”

They took after their dad so much. Going into things with one thing in mind. Tanya and Andy ran after Tommy and grabbed his legs, tumbling to the ground. Sierra grabbed your arm and led you to the playground set Jeremy had installed over the summer. She urged you to hurry up, so you climbed up the slide while she went up the rocks. 

“We won!” She threw her hands to the sky. 

You, on the other hand, “Are you ok, Tommy?” 

Andy was looking down at his brother, biting his lip. Tommy lifted up the plastic top of the knights mask and you could a smile on his rosy face.

“I’m ok!” 

You took the slide down and went up to him. 

“You sure?” 

“Good,” you helped him to his feet, “because I need a knight to help me win against an assassin.”

Tanya whined and looked betrayed. 

“What? No fair!” 

“You were fooled, it was a trap!” You grabbed a foam sword. 

Tommy giggled manically as you both ran after them. You didn’t hit the 3, you couldn’t, but you pretended to slash them with a “shh!” noise. Then you heard a loud laugh to your left. 

“Heh, oh man! That’s something. C’mon kids, come get your drinks.” You saw Jeremy had come back. 

The kids dropped what they were doing and ran to the cookies and lemonade. You walked up to Jeremy a little rosy. 

“I hate to say it, but I betrayed your daughter.” You chuckled.

“Yeah, I saw that.” He smirked.

After putting the kids to bed, Jeremy walked you out the door.

“Thanks for taking care of my kids when I would step away.” He leaned his elbow against the doorframe. 

“That’s nothing! You’re great with your kids, I’ve never seen kids be such good listeners.” 

“Heh, well, their dad is an amazing guy.” He chuckled.

Then there was silence. You hesitated. Jeremy looked at you with a squint and a smile. 

“You okay?” 

“I have to tell you something to tell you. And it’s going to be hard because it might ruin things between us.”

“Oh yeah?” He smiled, unserious. 

“I- ok, so I have known you for a long time and you are one of the people I care about the most. I know it’s been a long time, but those feelings have come back again. I know you have your kids and I know that’s the life you want, which is totally fine! But now that we’re older, I wanted to tell you and get it off my chest.” 

He leaned closer, waiting with an eager smile. 

“I have always liked you.”

“That it?” 

“That’s all.” 

You could not look into his eyes. You did not want to see him angry or in disbelief if this would be the last time you ever talk to him again. You feel awful, but you need to tell him otherwise you would regret it again. 

“Is it because I’m a dad now? Because i always knew I was smokin’ hot, but I never knew that’s what it would take for you to tell me.”

Then you started to laugh. And he laughed. And you looked at him now. He was just looking at you. 

“Do you like me?” You asked.

“Well, I didn’t always. But now I’m thinking, why the hell I didn’t.” 

And there was another moment of silence again. For once in his life, he actually thought about his words. It would take some serious rekindling before he would consider dating you. His kids come first and that is something he makes clear from the beginning. To be honest, he has thought about you for some time. He’s trusted you for years, and now he knows he still can.

“I dunno, maybe this could work. But, hey, uh, just gimme some time. I’ll have to find a babysitter.”

Jay knows there's some lines you don't cross. Like dating yet another partner, especially when she's your friend's little sister. The longer he works at your side the less he cares about those lines.

There were a few benefits to being so close in age to your older brother. With barely eighteen months between you and Kevin it meant that he was your best friend growing up. He went to hang out with his friends? He was bringing you. He got his license? He’s sneaking to teach you how to drive because you were getting yours the next year.

When he went into the academy, you went into the academy. When he fell on Hank Voight’s radar for intelligence, so did you. You were bought up a couple months after Kevin.

The day you walked in Voight took you to the front of the room “All of you know the younger Atwater. She’s the newest member of the team. Make her feel welcome. Jay, you’re her partner”

Jay Halstead, well that man was a freaking menace. Six foot, broad shoulders, gorgeous smile, seafoam blue eyes and completely off limits even before you had the title of his partner.

“Jay, man we know your history with partners. Don't be flirting with my sister” Kevin warned and you saw a blush grace Jay's cheeks as he cut his eyes at you with a small smile “I'll try not to”

You shook your head at Kevin's teasing “Kev, he's known me for years. Being his partner isn't going to flip a switch” Al slid his chair back from his desk and winked at you “Tell em sweetheart”

“Kev! Dammit you drained the coffee!” you had to stop yourself from slamming the pot down. You’d had one cup. He grimaced from where he stood at the sink, sipping out of his mug “Sorry? I’ll buy you a cup on the way in?”

You shook your head with a sigh “I don’t have time. I have to meet Jay at the freaking D.A.’s office to give our testimonies” “That’s the last go around though, isn’t it?” You grabbed your jacket and threw it over your shoulders “Yeah, thank god. One more day stuck in an office filled with lawyers asking me the same question over and over I may very well need a lawyer”

“Yeah I already told Jay if you tried to go over the conference table to tackle ya” he laughed and you raised an eyebrow so he added “I told him to make sure not to hurt you if he had to”

“You two act like my temper is so bad” you scoffed, looking around for your phone. Kevin held it up and grinned “Says the girl who knocked a six foot three suspect flat last week” you glared at him before saying “In my defense he said I was short and asked what I was gonna do. I simply showed him”

He shook his head “I’m glad Jay has the training he does. Makes it easier to handle having you for a partner” you grinned “I feel bad for Kim having to deal with you all day” he laughed “Love ya too”

You pulled up to the D.A. office and spotted Jay leaning against his truck, holding two cups of coffee. You parked in the empty spot next to him and climbed out before pocketing your keys “Please tell me one of those are mine. I won’t hide your pens for the next week”

A smirk slipped onto his face “Damn and here I was just being nice but I get something in return for it too” he held one out and you took it, taking a sip and smiling when it was just how you liked it. “You’re a good man Jay Halstead. I don’t care what everyone says” he shook his head “Let’s get this done so we can go do some actual work. This crap makes me miss getting shot at”

“I actually agree with you for once! Look what this is doing to our relationship Jay!” you gasped before laughing. He waved towards the building so the two of you headed inside.

Jay watched you move around the bullpen and once again found himself wishing he wasn’t your partner, wasn’t friends with your brother. Well maybe not the friends with Kevin part, he loved Kev but if you weren’t his partner it may be worth the risk of Kevin kicking his ass.

He’d always found you gorgeous. Long before you were pulled up to intelligence. Even when you were sporting the blues. His eyes would find you out of the entire precinct. When you would be tasked to help the unit he always stuck close to your side, when that ex of yours made you cry he’d been tempted to go with Kevin instead of talking Kevin out of violence.

Now? He knew you so much better. Your sense of humor was so freaking dorky but never failed to make him laugh. Your temper had a long fuse, you’d take so much but when it went off you could take out a city block. You were so damn smart, it made his head spin how fast you could figure stuff out. You never backed down from anyone or anything and god help a perp that thought they were getting through you to get to a victim.

He knew how you laughed when you thought someone expected it (like Adam’s jokes) versus when you actually found something funny. He knew your favorite flower, coffee drink, color and holiday. He hadn’t meant to fall for another partner, definitely not a friend’s sister yet here he was. Head over heels and helpless to do anything about it.

“Halstead!” you called Jay’s name again and he shook his head “What?” you grinned “You were staring at me” a blush graced his cheeks before he reached a hand out and gently brushed his knuckles over where you’d caught a punch from a suspect “Just looking at this”

You shook your head “I’m fine. I told you and Kev, I don’t break that easily” he smiled softly “Oh I know sweetheart. Doesn’t mean we don’t reserve the right to want to take care of you” you raised an eyebrow “Sweetheart?”

He ducked his head and let his hand fall away from you “I’m just saying, you can’t blame me and Kev for wanting you in one piece. You mean too much to both of us” you felt your heart flip at his words because they felt like he was saying something without saying it.

“You mean a lot to me too Jay” you all but whispered and a broad smile split his face “Yeah? As a partner though right?” you shrugged “Maybe not just as a partner”

This time he was the one to raise an eyebrow “Your brother would kill me” you leaned closer to him leaving just inches between your lips “Are you saying I’m not worth the risk?” he swallowed hard, eyes going from yours down to your lips then back up before he said “Fuck it” and crashed his lips against yours.

One of his hands gripped your chin, holding you in place while the other went down to your hip, damn near pulling you off your barstool and onto his lap. You could’ve cared less because damn could that man kiss. When he pulled away he pressed his forehead against yours and a soft smile slipped onto his face before he said “I think I can take Kev in a fight” you shook your head with a laugh “I will kick both of your asses if you fight” his smile turned into a grin “Yes ma’am. No fighting”

You pressed another kiss to his lips then spoke with your mouth against his “I could get used to this” “Kissing me?” he asked and you shook your head “No, you saying yes ma’am”

Now listen I personally see shoyo as a extrovert and due to being a big brother, someone who is observant when needed and quite emotionally intelligent which helps him become friends with so many people

In contrast kags is seen as a more private, sometimes quiet person, who is definitely more introverted. It is hinted towards that his parents aren't around often if at all and with Miwa being much older than him and likely moved out he spent much time alone training and teaching himself about volleyball and the world.

It is also known that kags is the youngest and in some of his closest friendships or team dynamics people unintentionally hover or go near him, while kags may not understand why they're talking to them he knows to respond and how he wants to respond plus adding in his habit of journaling, actively analyzing his past decisions and thoughts I imagine he knows (even if it annoys & frustrates him) how he feels very well. He might not be able to put direct names on these feelings but he can recognize them better than shoyo

But yea long story short kags knew he was in love with shoyo before shoyo knew he was in love with kags which makes their reunion on court so good bc at that point they both have recognized their love for each other and both are chasing and catching the other simultaneously

in all seriousness though, yes there are some reasonable complaints to be made about him and his choices, but 1) he made them under duress and under threat of being actively murdered, 2) he tried his very best to help people in the only way he knew how, even if he had to become an antagonist to do it. he's really very intelligent and very kind but he'd never let anyone know it; he hides behind lies because he has trouble trusting people, and it's easier to keep an eye on an enemy than a friend. he isolates himself intimately. no one ever understands his thoughts or feelings to the very end, and yet he tries so so so hard to help everyone. every little thing he does is meant to help dismantle the situation they're in. even though everyone hates him for it (admittedly he is very rude and scary about it. but how else would he guarantee they listen to him?)

💙 Louis - Gryffindor. Of course, Louis has Ravenclaw qualities like wit and intelligence, but he always lets his brave heart lead the way. He is extremely mentally strong and always stands up for his friends. If that doesn't SCREAM Gryffindor, I don't know what does.

❤ Liam - I think, again, Gryffindor. While Louis is more of a Fred & Geroge-like Gryffindor, Liam would be a Hermione-like Gryffindor who would likely to start a "how to behave yourselves" workshop for the boys, to which none of the boys would attend! He's headstrong, bravehearted and takes the lead. If I have to pick between the other obvious choice, Ravenclaw, I sort our Payno into Gryffindor.
