i feel like being in a fandom long term has a very specific repetitive cycle that kind of looks like this

I hate the fact that the white underbelly and the blue top on fish often indicates that that creature is, or was in the recent past, a prey animal, having it be a camouflaging technique, where the white underbelly, when seen from above, looks like the light from the surface, the blue on top when seen from above, looks like the oceanic depths below-… because…:

Great white sharks

And

Humpback whales

Are/ were PREY ANIMALS TO LARGER CREATURES

Because both are absolutely HUGE, at least by today’s standards, and the fact they had to USE CAMOUFLAGE TO HIDE IS SCARING ME.

Just think, how HUGE the PREDATORS had to be in the past,

because both of these animals have been alive for forever, evolution just hasn’t caught up to them in the way of ‘nothing eats you guys anymore’ so it’s still got the patterns of back before they were apex predators.
