In celebration of Ishin’s release in a few days, I’m bringing you information that everyone (no one) has been waiting for: What would Hijikata sing in the karaoke minigame? He’s the only friend that doesn’t sing (unless RGG decided to change this in the remake. We’ll see.)
A kyoudai from Reddit shared a video of Hijikata’s VA singing about a certain historical figure. Now we have a potential candidate for his karaoke song:
- Linky Link - Note from OP: He’s singing about shogun Iemitsu Tokugawa.
Iemitsu was the 3rd Tokugawa shogun. Yoshinobu (Daigo) is the 15th one. The song could still work if you change the names, unless there’s something specific in the lyrics that I’m missing because I don’t speak Japanese.
(Yes, I think Minekata simping for Daigonobu is amusing. He simps in all universes.)
*All credits for this discovery go to the Reddit kyoudai jack-468. Credits to Shido Nakamura for making this shitpost possible with his amazing performance. Shipping brainrot thoughts are my own.

So sick of the whole debate of "Is (X) punk?" "Does (Y) count as punk?" "(Z) is a punk action, actually". Everybody knows the only way to be truly punk is to agree to go to Texas and "disappear" as a publicity stunt, go to Paris instead, be actually reported as a missing person by your manager and bandmates, get blackout drunk by having ten pints in a row, and only regain consciousness to find out you're already halfway through running the Paris marathon. If you haven't done that you're a fuckin poser.

I was reading DunMeshi and was so confused by this phrase that I decided to look it up
(Do correct me if you think this isn’t accurate cuz I just used google)
But I find it frankly hilarious that Chilchuck is using slang from various parts of the British Isles out of nowhere in the last volume??
(I’ve now had someone explain to me that apparently it’s not uncommon for certain uncommon types of informal Japanese to be translated as slang from specific areas, typically around Britain, in English)
First of all I’d alr seen people jokingly headcanoning him as Irish on here (which was an idea I absolutely love)
ALSO I come from a part of the UK where I’m very familiar with the term ‘git’ but had never heard of a version with an e and I also had no idea it meant the same as ‘bastard’
(I have considered that this could just be the regular meaning of the word ‘get’ but I thought it wouldn’t grammatically make sense here so I assumed it was slang esp cuz he would totally call someone a git)
Anyways I’ve checked other translations and it’s not the same so I find it so funny that this one (which I’m pretty sure is the official English translation) included it
(^ another version I found online)
Anyways this is the translation I have and used as an example for this post, which I’m pretty sure is the official English translation:
Edit: Btw also check tags I kinda wrote this when I was drunk on sleep deprivation

It's funny knowing that,
This is a regular occurrence
Dazai's name for Chuuya is set as "Slug"
Dazai still keeps his old phone around
And that Chuuya still has Dazai's number
Hirotsu has probably faced this scenario several times over their four years apart 🤣
Imagine it'll be a common warning whenever the PM goes out drinking: "Beware, there's a high chance Executive Nakahara gets wasted and, 9.9 times out of 10, he calls his old partner. Bring earplugs. You don't wanna hear what the executive curses him with."
Also like this is giving me I'll be here for you even if I'm gone vibes like, Dazai still has his old phone. Why? Maybe cause he actually accepts those drunk calls from Chuuya, and pays him visit after quietly listening to him ramble to make sure he's alright.
But that's just me 😭✌️

Flamm and flames 3/??
Song : Allumer le feu - Johnny Halliday
Translation : A sparkle will be sufficient - A mere nothing, a gesture - To - Light the fire
Ok so this one is more of a joke/shitpost one, the song isn't on my playlist at all but it's just an extremely iconic song by an (late) iconic rock singer for whole France. Like, the whole country knows at least the name of the singer, there's even a dedicated merch corner of him in a shop in my area (it's like cheap merch of clocks and posters with his face on it lmao)
Sorry Johnny tho, never been a fan of your songs, I'm more of a Jean Jacques Goldman listener in terms of French artist/songwriter from the 80's/90's (he even wrote songs for Céline Dion)
