Why do we read infinite as infinite when the word is an inverse of finite, so I personally think infinite should be read as infinite instead of infinite

how will I know? // marcus armstrong
Tumblr media
summary: marcus has the hots for a barista at florida's trendiest cafe. it's not the pumpkin spice that keeps bringing him back. perhaps its the fact that he doesn't know how to ask her out that's holding him back.
pairing: marcus armstrong x barista! reader
warnings: pumpkin spice lattes, mid-season exams, i don't know jack shit about coffee so if the terminology doesn't make sense, don't sue me. Clement has no filter whatsoever.
how will I know if he really loves me? I say a prayer in every heartbeat! how will I know if he’s thinking of me? I’m asking you cause you know about things
florida is a vastly different place before eight in the morning. especially in the fall, trees dyed red and orange as nature takes it’s time ringing in the next phase.
marcus stopped, hands on his knees as he bent over to gasp for air. he never associated flordia with the cold, but when you grow up in christchurch, anything less than boiling is cold.
he took a deep breath, pushing up the sleeves of his athletic sweater and stretching his arms as he began to walk down the quiet street. the off season was no joke. sure, he’s fucked around for a few weeks with some of the old ferrari boys, but now he finally had a chance to make something of himself.
to be a household name.
which meant that despite the outside temperature and the lack of desire tk do much, he needed to keep up the routine. the routine would keep him sane, keep him in fighting condition.
but first, he needed coffee. and indoor heating.
he pushed into the coffee shop on the corner, a quiet yet cozy set up with blown glass pumpkins on the shelves behind the counter, a garland of fake fall leaves strung up around the point-of-sale terminal. lo-fi covers of eighties arena rock played in the background, a tinny rendition inf of Springsteens ‘dancing in the dark’ echoing throughout the empty space.
empty except for one person.
at a table in the back corner, a petite woman of about twenty one sat cross legged, earbuds in and staring at a laptop as she hopped her head to whatever she was listening to and scribbled a few things down on her notebook page.
she sang under her breath as she bopped her head, and marcus could hear the fluctuating notes of “you sexy thing” clashing with the overhead music.
there was something about the care-free nature of her own little world that marcus found very endearing.
sliding a hand into his pants pockets, he turned back to the counter, tapping the bell on the counter to call for a barista.
at the sound, the girl in the corner jumped, apple earbuds falling out of her ears as she stumbled over the kanken backpack on the floor.
“fuck, give me just a second! sorry, we usually don’t get any traffic before eight in the morning.” she groaned, heading towards the counter, cuffs of her oversized jeans dragging on the floor. “it’s mid term season, you know how it is.”
“I don’t, actually.” marcus shrugged “I never went to university.”
the girl laughed, slipping behind the counter. “count yourself lucky. this is hell.” she took a breath, tying her hair in a loose ponytail behind her head. “what can I get you?”
“do you have just, normal coffees?” marcus chuckled, looking at the chalkboard menu on the wall. “something that my trainer won’t kill me for drinking?”
the girl behind the counter laughed, placing a hand over her heart. “someone under the age of thirty drinks normal coffee?”
“such is the life of a professional athlete.”
she smiled softly at him, and he felt his stomach churn as she tapped the tablet screen.
she was so pretty, in such a subtle, ordinary way. the kind that took no effort.
“espresso, latte, or americano?”
marcus placed his order, tapping his black amex card against the machine as she turned around to grab a paper coffee cup, a blue sharpie peeking out over her back pocket. she uncapped the marker, leaning over the counter and resting her elbows against the laminate.
“can I get a name for that?”
“that depends,” marcus grinned, mimicking her pose. his face was so close to her that she could have kissed him if she leaned a little closer. “can I get yours?”
“y/n.” she flushed, blush spreading across her cheeks.
“I’m marcus. nice to meet you, y/n.”
every morning after that, it was like there was an invisible string that kept dragging marcus back. he couldn't explain what pull that the small boutique cafe had, but every morning, like clockwork, he was slipping into the small store, hoping to catch a glimpse of the girl who had first caught his eye, sitting curled up in her small corner of the white marble space.
by the second day, he had worked up the courage to ask what she was studying. by the third day, she had memorized his order (americano with cream and cold foam) and by the fourth day, he was coming in early to help her use her study flash cards.
despite herself, y/n found herself longing for the kiwi, the mysterious athlete that had slipped so easily into her life despite it all, despite the obligations that she was sure had to things that weren't her.
it all felt too good to be true.
and you know what, one morning he never came in, and she felt her heart sink, even though there was no reason for it. it's not like he was her lover. he was just another customer.
one she had grown attached to.
of course, marcus had a good reason for not coming in that morning. he knew it was the day before her exam, and he wanted more than anything to be there and help her make sure she was ready. instead, he found himself at the airport, waiting for two different flights to land: james from new zealand, and clement from... well, he didn't actually know where clement was flying in from. sometimes, when it came to the eccentric frenchman, it was better not to ask. and
because he was such a good fucking friend, he was waiting in the arrivals line at the asscrack of dawn instead of ordering coffee. and once his friends had piled into the car, squishing suitcases and duffle bags into the sad excuse of a trunk, he got it into his head that he was going to go straight to the coffee shop.
"mate, you missed the turn to your house." clement frowned, tapping on the window. "where are you taking us?"
james smiled to himself, wiping the sweat off his brow. "he's taking us to see coffee shop girl."
"oh, shit. are you finally going to tell her you love her?"
"oh, fuck you both." marcus groaned, pulling into a parking space in front of the small shop, aptly named 'what's the tea?. "i'm not 'in love', but i want to know her better. she has a big exam tomorrow, and you guys know i've been helping her study, so i just want to make sure she feels okay about it."
clement snorted, sharing a look with james.
"simp." both men said at the same time, laughing hysterically as marcus stepped out of the car, flashing his middle finger at his comrades before he went inside.
when they were done laughing, clement and james followed him inside, greeted by a lo-fi version of 'you shook me all night long'. the cafe was busier than marcus had ever seen it, and there were three different girls working behind the counter today, the tables almost full. he spied y/n's backpack at a corner booth, tucked safely into the corner.
but there was no sign of y/n.
he waited in the line, james and clem behind him, and when he reached the counter, he couldn't hide his disappointment that she hadn't come to ask if he still wanted his usual order.
"what can i get you?" athena, the woman behind the counter asked him.
"hi, is y/n working today?"
athena grinned, leaning against the counter. "you're runner boy, aren't you?"
"he calls her coffee shop girl! they're made for each other!" clem shouted with a laugh, earning a small slap to the chest from james.
"she's in the back, she stepped out to take a break. today has been rough on her." athena smiles softly, stepping back. "i'll go get her for you."
he peeled away from the line, hands tapping his sides nervously as he watched athena duck into the back room. james clapped him in the shoulders, attempting to talk up his longtime friend.
when the door to the back room opened, and y/n emerged from the small break space, his heart stopped. her eyes were rimmed in red, as if she had been crying. her hair was loosely pinned back in a plastic clip, a minuscule droplet of water on her glasses.
and as soon as she saw him, she couldn’t help but smile.
“you came. I missed you this morning.” she said softly, making her way towards him, hands shyly hidden in the sleeves of her sweater.
marcus chuckled, gesturing towards clem and james. “yeah, I had to go pick up these two wankers from the airport.”
almost as if they had heard, both men turned towards the couple, waving their arms madly.
“he wants to jump your bones!” clement shouts before taking a sip of his fancy matcha drink, seductively winking at a blonde behind the bar
“please, pay them no mind.” marcus sighs as y/n starts to laugh. “I’ve known them since I was like, twelve. theyre harmless, just taking the piss.”
“don’t worry about it.” she smiles, brushing an errant strand of hair. “I think it’s charming.”
“your civil lit exam is tomorrow, right? how are you feeling?”
she exhaled, slipping both hands into her back pockets. “overwhelmed. but I think I can do it. i can definitely pass, just not sure by how much.”
feeling james and clems eyes boring into the back of his head, marcus took a deep breath, wringing his hands together. “hey, after your exam, maybe when your life has calmed down a little bit, do you want to grab a drink?”
she beamed, blushing pink as she reached for a cardboard heat sleeve, scribbling her number down on it. “yeah, I’d love that. do you want w coffee? the usual?”
she slipped the sleeve with her number on it onto the cup, her hand lingering over marcus’ as she passed him the cup.
when he went back to his friends, james and clem took one look at the scribbled digits on the side of the cup and burst out into cheers.
as they left the shop, he turned back, stealing a look at y/n as she slipped behind the bakery case. when she saw him, she gave him a smile, and a gentle wave.
and marcus waved back. maybe moving to florida wasn’t a bad thing after all.

hirano typology analysis <3
Tumblr media
okay, everyone! let's start off from this page first thing first.
Tumblr media
as you can see he's typed estj 1w2 but let's go further in this:
estjs are te-fi si-ne axis based which means his te and his si need fi and ne to function (this axis is applied for ti-fe se-ni as well and goes both ways).
(for anyone who doesn't know how this works: cognitive function in a stack of 8 make a type AND it's shadow type (your "opposite" type) as you can see in the screenshot up there functions are set this way: introvert > extr. > intr > extr. OR extr. > intr. > extr. > intr.)
let's start with his dom-aux stack
honestly, i believe he's an estj as well so im going to stick with this typing.
his dominant function is Te, i think this guy has an unbearable amount of Te here 😭
up to now I've noticed he is:
- rational
- more in his head than his heart
- pragmatic
- focused on efficiency
- very responsible
- direct (says what he thinks in your face even if it might hurt you (for ex. like when he rejected kagi for the first time)
as for his Si, which is high as well, this is what I've noticed:
- respects traditions (doesn't mean he supports them but he has nothing against them)
- sense of duty and responsibility
- he needs structure and order
- he's loyal
- resistant to major changes
- stubborn
- tidy
actually about his dominant function (between Te and Si) i have something to say about his Fi in the tert-inf stack. i think he uses much more Fi than Ne so I'd move it to tert. position and put Ne in inf. that'd make him an istj tho. in the latest chapter we can see how he thinks it's "right" not to stop Kagi from moving on but it's not an action of pure morality since sensei's shown us his whole reasonment. we can see that it's more of a "rational morality" which in a in a typology aspect is clearly Te and Fi working together. Still, i think both an istj and estj typing are correct since there's only a difference in the functions positions (estj: Te-Si-Ne-Fi istj: Si-Te-Fi-Ne).
okay now comes my fav part of typology!
enneagram, tritype and instinctual variants!
im gonna note them here so I don't have to scroll up over and over again.
enneagram: 1w2
tritype: 152
instinctual variants: so/sp
alright, so. I'd make some changes here.
first thing, his enneagram. i think e1 is correct for him since e1 is a perfectionist who thinks they have some kind of mission, they're usually systematic and responsible (in his case his self-given mission could be helping kagi with his studies for ex.) while for his w2, i honestly don't know because e2s help others out of a personal gain (to feel better about themselves) which I don't think is hirano's case because he genuinely helps others even if he doesn't get anything in return. he could be a 1w9 in my opinion. type 9s look for harmony and peace and fear having their harmony shaken/broken which could be related to his change avoidance? i think it's surely better than 1w2 (since type 2s are subconsciously selfish and he isn't selfish at all).
tritype: i think it's correct, although I wouldn't type him an e5 since he's not shown us he likes to collect knowledge "just because"
instinctual variants: I don't think so/sp is accurate, he's probably an sx/so. from my point of view it's like he values his close relationships more, by this i mean it's like he's completely comfortable with only one person (which is kagi) and I wouldn't change the social typing
we reached the end of my analysis!
it's probably confusing since my thought process is very messy to begin with, I'm sorry if it seems like that 😭

ooh...if you're an mbti girlie then how about guessing what the guys' mbti are?
this one took me a lot longer bc i've been analyzing different mbti possibilities, often it's difficult with some of them bc you can't rlly notice their thought pattern through just their actions. for a couple of them due to one function i couldn't decipher i listed two possible mbtis
anyways here it is, feel free to correct any if you think i got them wrong!

A simple concept comic for the "Westward To Tathāgatagarbha" AU that I am currently researching about for the sake of Hindu and Buddhist lore.
This AU (simplified as just the "Westward" AU) will be explained shortly after I finish half of the docs, since it will be too long to explain it directly here.
Thank you for your patience.
——————————————————————
"Just as the Dao is compared to water, the fl ow of qi is envisioned as a complex system of waterways both in nature and in the human body. In the latter, the “Ocean of Qi” is in the abdomen; rivers of qi fl ow through the upper torso, arms, and legs;
Springs of qi sprout at the wrists and ankles; and wells of qi are found in the fi ngers and toes. In both nature and the body, even a small spot in this structure can thus inf l uence the whole, so that overall balance and smoothness are the general goal.
Seen in its most general terms, human life is the accumulation of qi; death is its dispersal. After receiving a core potential of primordial and prenatal qi at birth, people throughout life need to sustain it.
Rather than the mere absence of symptoms and ailments, health in this vi-sion is thus a fundamental alignment with the Dao as it manifests in one’s personal physical and psychological characteristics and as it opens paths to higher self-realization and spiritual unfolding. It means the presence of a strong vital energy and of a smooth, harmonious, and active qi flow that moves in a steady alteration of yin and yang, two aspects of the continuous fl ow of creation: the rising and falling, growing and declining, warming and cooling, beginning and ending, expanding and contracting movements that pervade all life and nature.
Yin and yang continuously alternate and change from one into the other. They do so in a steady rhythm of rising and falling, visible in nature in the rising and setting of the sun, the warming and cooling of the seasons, the growth and decline of living beings. "

ATEEZ Wooyoung MBTI Analysis
- ESFP -
An in-depth analysis of an idol's MBTI type. Based on my opinion and observations, may change later. Not an expert.
Tumblr media
ESFP (Se - Fi - Te - Ni)
Dom: Se (Extroverted Sensing)
A perceiving function that uses our 5 senses to process the external world.
Wooyoung is always aware of the present moment, quick to react and to take action. He also pays attention to physical things such as aesthetics, the visuals of the performance, the way he looks, etc physical appearances matter a lot to him.
He enjoys photography and videography, which are pretty good activities for Se - it allows him to use his senses to make visually stimulating images and videos. Physically engaging activities seem like the best way to energize him e.g cooking and riding a bike. Cooking is great for his Se as it engages with all his senses - all the movement in cooking, tasting the foods, the aromas, watching the food cook, plating, maybe he enjoys hearing the sounds of food cooking as well and/or the way kitchen tools slightly hit each other (e.g knife on a cutting board).
This moment especially was an incredibly Se dom moment. Comparing it to Si user Jongho (Si has to step back and assess first), being the Se dom he is, Woo just went for it.
Aux: Fi (Introverted Feeling)
A judging function that uses one's own values and belief to compare and make choices
As Fi wants to be authentic, that is what Wooyoung always strives for - he always wants to express himself well, to be real. He wants people to like him for him. He returns the same gesture with others - he wants to know the real version of others. Wooyoung tries not to make assumptions at first meet since he knows he will not learn everything just from one encounter. He seems very empathetic.
Tert: Te (Extroverted Thinking)
A judging function that uses established facts and systems to make objective, working decisions.
He's quite goal oriented and takes time to plan to achieve these goals, even if it's not the most detailed. Either way, he knows how to get what he wants and works hard to reach his achievements.
Wooyoung lays down the rules as well - Te can be by the book, which Wooyoung can be sometimes. E.g when he was explaining how he found it rude when juniors would not put in the effort to correctly bow down to him and other senior artists. Wooyoung has a strong belief in being humble and kind (Fi) and wants to implement this in everyone.
Inf: Ni (Introverted Intuition)
A perceiving function that uses one's own personal insights and ideas
In his episode of "Fill in the Blank" series, Wooyoung said he wanted to use dance to convey deeper messages and emotions for others. He wants to be a sense of comfort, the light in other's darkness. He has always wanted to make an impact on others from a young age, especially considering how much he values relationships.
___
Why is he not an xSFJ or ISTJ
Both types use Si - Ne, which I do not see in Wooyoung at all...xSFJ's Fe is understandable, but Wooyoung is sometimes a bit too straightforward and honest to be using Fe in his main stack though lol.
And ISTJ just does not make sense in general for him.

🌷👹Alex = ENTJ📈🏆
Btw these headcanons are heavily inspired plus agreeable to @/cornedbread’s headcanons to Alex
- Alex is possibly a Deep thinker, sometimes dissociating a bit or would stare blankly. [*N**/Intuition]
- He’s possibly an abstracted and drastic creature to create something so ridiculous, intriguing and as well as… Life threatening. [Intuition]
- Strategic and unpredictable, like how in his true form he waits for the perfect moment to pounce. [Dom Te -> Aux Ni -> Ter Se]
- He has NO EMPATHY to others at all and lacks personal concerns, but interestingly he has an “intimate friendship” with Dolly. Since Real Alex known her and so is she. [Inf Fi + SO/SX + Choleric]
- Power hungry and authoritarian in secret. There’s a hidden thirst for order and the strong ambition of achievement (A goal we possibly have not known about yet). As said or mentioned by Scrina. [ Enneagram 3 + SX8 ]
- Likewise, they’re fascinated by the wonders of biology and zoology. It’s either something sinister or “lighthearted” if he would look at some organism. Just curiously keeping an eye… Even aware of its actions. [ Enneagram 5 + Ni-Se ]
- Although mostly aggressive, he finds joy in things like biology/zoology, nature, aloe vera, and right awnsers. It’s not just that though. [ Secondary Sanguine ]
Conclusion:
ENTJ (The Commander)|| 3w4 - SO/SX - 385 || Choleric-Sanguine || SLOEI
Tumblr media
Alex is an ENTJ, The Commander type.
ENTJ’s are highly strategic, intelligent and influential people able to create, plan and lead. ENTJ’s by strength can be very caring and supportive of ideas, but as for an Unhealthy version can be aggressive and controlling.
(Abbreviation; Extroverted, iNtuitive, Thinking, Judging.)
Along with 3w4 “The Proffesional”, SO-SX, 385 “The Solution Maker” as his enneagram, instinct and tritype;
Social 3’s appear to try and take a liking from others by first glance, and it appears to be a manipulative approach later on(*Unhealthy 3), they gain admiration and recognition for either achievements, charm or so on.
Then here, Sexual 8 craves possession, power and control, which could mean both head(3) and heart(8) are unpredictably cunning, and it’s dangerously lurking inside of him ambiguously.
By gut, 5/Five’s are curious, private and intelligent individuals, so by action Alex decides to let Olivia explore as she walks, almost unheard, for a chance to either catch her or trap her in his realm. It’s also his sense of hiding his physically true form, securing that reality from within.
His temperament is just pure wrath and sadistic joy, he takes pleasure from beating up Scrina to make her do as he says, successfully taking control of a whole entire school. And, Olivia getting an awnser wrong is intended for him to devour her whole. Though “lighthearted” joy is usually established from aloe vera(?), biology/zoology and possibly Dolly.
Besides his other traits; Social, Limbic, and Organized, He possibly possesses an Ego, not pun intended, but he really does set himself high in a low profile as a Teacher. And other hand possibly inquisitive, as he’d borrow an idea to create effective motives on going. But I also like to think that he got heavily inspired by two teachers, since they’re somewhat in the same universe.
That is to make inquisitive in SLOE-“I” a strong proof.
Other notes/Trivia:
- Alex is easily mistaken for an ENTP “The Debater” type for Fandom Portrayal, and ISFP “The Adventurer” type or INFJ “The Advocate” for his fascination for Biology and Zoology.
- It’s likely Real Alex is an ISFP/INFJ. Given by links and such.
- Although 3w4 is now a confirmed type, there are times where Alex seemed SX1 (The Reformer/The Zealous) for the fact he, like Baldi would teach the player solo, and it’s possibly preferable to him.
- Another reason for Alex to be mistaken for an ENTP is his Temperament, Instinct, and possibly his attitude. (*Which I’m yet to study and learn of)
- Overall, Alex likely has an Unhealthy/Immature Personality. Possibly because of his Morality (True Evil).
Fix:
Limbic = SLOEI - Upon reading the wikipedia more, it’s determined that he’s more of a Limbic rather than Calm. As Alex appears to be aggressive and as well assertive, than his stoic demeanor which is a façade.
Refrences:
(A/N: You can find Enneagram 8 and 5 in the same website too)

Anon wrote: hello! so, for the longest while, i was convinced that i was an infp. but, very recently, i realised that the struggles that i was going through, the problems that were coming up repeatedly, seemed to be more indicative of ne-te loop. i didn't actually get very far with the function development guide once I'd determined myself to be an infp btw. life kinda got in the way.
anyway, this realisation prompted me to delve back into your type theory guide. for the past week or so, I've been going through it in detail with a clear mind, considering every single type as a possibility and rejecting them one by one according to the evidence I'm typing up. I'm still about midway through the inf functions in the proper procedure that I'm following, but i've skimmed that entire post and others, because there's a couple of questions that's been bugging me throughout.
I've more or less narrowed myself down to an xnfp, although like i said, I'm still open to considering other types as well. what I'm mostly stuck with is the following:
1. how is an enfp's ne-te loop going to look in contrast to an infp's te grip?
2. how is an infp's fi-si loop going to look in contrast to an enfp's si grip?
i understand that, of course, every person is a unique example of their type. but I've been stuck with these two points, since i couldn't find anything on your blog related to how a specific tert function's loop looks in tandem with the type's corresponding dom function. like, i know what te-loop looks like, but i don't know how it would work with ne dom. i suspect where i might have gone wrong with typing myself (if i was mistaken, like i said, i am still going through the theory guide intensively), was misidentifying si grip as fi-si loop.
if you do have any past posts that I've missed, I'd appreciate you redirecting me to them. and i hope my doubt is clear, and that you'll be able to help me out. thank you!
-----------------------
As far as I can tell, there are several issues to address:
1) Overemphasis on how functions "look": This usually means you're too focused on outward behavior (superficial) and not really understanding how functions operate inside the mind (fundamentals). Until you are able to draw a proper distinction between cognition and behavior (which is the first major principle that I teach in the Function Theory guide), your focus will likely be misplaced on the what and then missing the why. Asking "what does my Te look like?" won't get you as far as asking "WHY do I use Te in this way?" Basically, you're not going deep enough.
2) Not accounting for Function Dynamics: Newbies often get stuck on viewing functions in isolation, which exacerbates problem #1 above. Once your learning becomes more advanced, you'll understand that functions are dynamic and intertwined. For instance, tertiary loop and inferior grip are very different because the function interactions that produce them are very different:
- Tertiary loop arises due to a unique relationship to i) dominant dysfunction, specifically dominant immaturity, and ii) auxiliary underdevelopment, specifically auxiliary resistance. Thus, evidence of tertiary loop must also include evidence of those two issues, which I have already included in the guide under the dominant and auxiliary function sections. These three parts must fit together properly.
- Inferior grip arises due to dominant dysfunction, specifically dominant extremes that create a troubling imbalance. One reason people find themselves in dominant extremes is because they're trying to force the function to work in unsuitable ways/situations, which causes escalating problems with stress, to the point of not being able to cope and adapt well. Thus, evidence of inferior grip must include i) evidence of dominant extremes, and ii) eventual loss of healthy dominant functioning, information which is already included in the inferior function section of the guide.
3) Not accounting for Type Dynamics: Type dynamics refers to the theory of the functional stack, of how the whole is more than just the sum of its parts. Each of the four functional stack positions serves a unique and specific purpose in your psychology with regard to what the ego needs and wants, which is briefly explained in the beginning of each stack position section, as well as the type dynamics section of the Type Dev guide.
For example, the proper purpose of the tertiary function is to complement and temper the auxiliary function. However, tertiary loop means that this healthy dynamic is altered and the tertiary function is being misused for a different and more nefarious purpose of propping up a failing dominant function.
This goes back to point #1 above of not grasping the "WHY" - what is the purpose of each function in the mind? It's very important to ask yourself WHY you are using the function in that particular way, in relation to the other functions. To what end or to what purpose is the behavior meant to serve?
.
It looks like all the information you need is already included in the study guides, so perhaps you have only been picking out some superficial points about the "look" of functions and ignoring the more important theoretical concepts that would help you understand WHY functions look a particular way. The problem with not reading the guide all the way through to full understanding before you start doing the hard work of analyzing yourself is that you won't see the bigger picture of how all the parts are meant to fit together.
Psychology is complicated, so function theory isn't exactly easy to learn. There are many levels of comprehension and you're still at the beginner level. It's certainly not a crime to be a beginner, since we all have to start somewhere. However, don't sabotage yourself with poor learning methods such as disorderly/unfocused reading, taking shortcuts, or thinking that the "gist" equals complete knowledge - these are common learning obstacles for NPs.

Etymology: Middle Borlish borrowing from Tuscan scopo "purpose, point", which descends from Latin scopus "target". This was borrowed from σκοπός • skopós "watcher; target" in Ancient Greek. Are niște buze.. Ah... "Fato, trezește-te!" Îmi spun și mă uit la băutura mea lung. Oare ce caut totuși aici? Ce vreau mai exact? Oftez, îi fac semn barmanului și îi spun să îmi facă nota.
- Trece-o în contul meu!
Mă întorc uimită spre vocea din spatele meu și mă uit în niște ochi căprui. E tipul pe care îl admirasem înainte. Cred că m-a surprins când îl studiam.
-Futu-i! spune printre dinți.

Okay so I’ve looked into cognitive functions (specifically jungian typology and socionics) and I think I might know why I don’t exactly fit into the mbti type.
Here’s what I found based on some personal observations/investigations and tests of it:
dom: Ti
aux: Ni
tert: Si
inf: Fi
So basically, all of my functions have an introverted attitude which is kinda insane. This makes it practically impossible to match my cognitive functions to any standard mbti (compared to the typical extroverted aux and inf) or any standard socionics types.
In socionics, the most roughly corresponding one was is ILI (Ni-Ti-Se-Fe) - which is loosely equivalent to INTJ in mbti. Other close ones were LII (INTP, Ti-Ne-Si-Fe), SLI(ISTP, Ti-Se-Ni-Fe), LSI(ISTJ, Si-Te-Fi-Ne). But none of these actually match my exact cognitive stack.
I don’t know if something went wrong during my study or I was misguided because usually, it’s theoretically possible to have all introverted attitudes it is also extremely rare. Jungian psychology and MBTI assume that people need a balance between interacting with the external world (extraversion) and processing their internal world (introversion) so having only one attitude disrupts this balance - this means I’m very cognitively imbalanced and atypical from a jungian point of view (which is true to be fair, from my neurological context).
What are your thoughts on this?
In general, I don't recommend studying two different models at the same time, as you'll likely be tempted to find exact correspondences between them. You can't, because the models are constructed differently. It's similar to learning two languages at once, even if they share the same roots; each has evolved differently, and mixing them could lead to confusion with the specific features of each.
From your questions, I assume you're new to MBTI. So, I suggest setting socionics aside for now and studying it only after you’ve mastered MBTI on its own. Once you’re comfortable with MBTI, you’ll be better able to make proper distinctions between the two. Remember that while these models can complement each other, they aren't directly comparable or designed to offer exact type translations. For example, the INTJ in the MBTI isn't exactly the INTj in socionics, and vice versa.
That being said. Regarding your results, I think it's safe to lean toward an introverted type. When you take a test, you may not be entirely objective and might focus on specific moments in your life rather than looking at the bigger picture. This means you could, consciously or not, select memorable instances you went through, instead of reflecting on your general way of functioning over your whole life. That's why asking people who know you well can be more helpful than relying solely on self-assessment.
In conclusion: I advise you to read each MBTI type carefully and proceed by elimination. Rule out those that you are sure do not match you. When you have the remaining profiles: use cognitive functions to find your two dominants.

Why do you prefer IEIE/EIEI model over EEII/IIEE (and IEEE/EIII, if you want make it broader)? And what are your thoughts on this model?
The Grant Stack has always been more theoretically solid than the nucleus stack. Both are just two different interpretations of Jung’s work – both of them make pretty good points, but overall the Grant Stack solves the explanation of the ego/personality better than the nucleus.
In my opinion, the nucleus stack fails at providing theoretically coherence to the dualism of the cognitive functions (I’m not gonna talk about the myersian stack because the IEEE/EIII model doesn’t make any sense if we take into account that cognitive functions are meant to be understood in tandems – f.e you can’t understand Fi without Te).
The problem with this issue being brought out now by typologytok remains in the arguments made against the Grant Stack, which usually show a lack of understanding of what the Grant Stack is really about (this debate has been going on for like 6 years on the typologycafe forum? typologytok hasn’t invented anything here). The Grant Stack contemplates the idea of you developing and relating to two functions with the same extroverted or introverted attitude, and the auxiliary function isn’t the “second one you relate the most to” – which is an argument I’ve seen a lot to discredit the EIEI – IEIE stack.
The Grant Stack is, nowadays, the most accurate, effective and realistic stack to define the flexibility of the cognitive functions usage. It’s also more theoretically precise while allowing people to understand that they’re a unique example of their type. Have you ever read any book that actually explains the dynamic of the nucleus stack? There aren’t many of them, and I’m yet to come across a solid essay that defends what’s the actual applicability of a pure ego conducted by two functions with the same attitude.
People talk about the nucleus stack like it is a Jungian stack. Jung didn’t care about a stack; for him there are 8 personality types, as the dominant function is what creates them. In any case, if Jung were to read about a stack he will probably agree with the Grant stack as many of his books imply that the dominant function requires a function with a different attitude to deal with the inferior one (check Jung 1925 seminars and “los complejos y el inconsciente” (1933) – sorry I don’t know the title in English)
To finish my brief argumentation… I’ve seen on the Internet people trying to say that – following the nucleus stack – an INTP can be TiNi and TiNe. If that’s the case, what actually means to be an INTP? This proposed typology destroys the essential difference between functions with two different attitudes.
PD: Daryl Sharp makes a pretty solid take when he says that there isn’t a tertiary function, but that there are actually two auxiliary functions. So, if you are NiFeTiSe, you are dom NI (aux Fe-Ti) and inf Se. That’s interesting.
