Zoya and Inej (BFF)

A/N: How would Inej and Zoya be like as best friends?

T/W: Grishaverse spoilers.

They would talk to each other in Suli all the time, especially to tell secrets.

They would be there for thick and thin.

Inej would be the only one who would know Zoya's love interest for Nikolai, although the raven would have had a hard time getting the grisha to talk about her feelings.

When Zoya became queen, the palace gates would always be open to her best friend.

They would know everything about each other.

Zoya would always be talking bad with her about Kaz, she wouldn't think he deserved her.

After Zoya became a living saint, Inej would always joke about buying another knife and carving her name on it (it wouldn't be a joke at the end).

When you think about it, Kaz is currently the most powerful person in the whole Grishaverse.

Why?

Well. Two of his best friends (Jesper and Wylan) literally run the merchant council of Ketterdam, one of his best friends (Nina) is the literal queen of Fjerda, he's acquaintances with the king and queen of Ravka (Zoya and Nikolai) who sometimes rely on him for missions, and his girlfriend (Inej) is an awesome, ass-kicking, and well-feared pirate empress.

and it’s kaz choosing a ship for inej that he thinks suits her

it’s mal knowing alina loves the blue irises, not the white ones

it’s jesper memorizing wylan’s face and telling genya how to tailor him back

it’s david keeping a list of all the ways genya likes to be complimented

it’s nikolai designing a structure to protect zoya’s garden and promising to always make it summer for her

Things Kaz canonically does in the two years between Crooked Kingdom and Rule of Wolves:

(presumably) massively expands the Dregs' territory

buys Pekka's old club (the Emerald Palace) and completely renovates it, turning it into The Silver Six

massively expands the Crow Club to the point where it's "three times the size of every other establishment on the block"

builds an underground tunnel that goes from the Crow Club to the Geldstraat, where the Van Eck Mansion is

takes Jesper out on jobs with him often enough that Wylan has jokingly banned Jesper from answering the door when he knocks

learns about Ketterdam's Suli laborers and picks up additional knowledge of Suli culture

keeps up with Inej's whereabouts and helps her take out slavers

expands his information network to the Kerch colonies

is on friendly enough terms with the King of Ravka that he taught Nikolai how to pick locks and Nikolai feels comfortable personally writing him a letter when he needs to steal the titanium from Kerch

disguises himself just to follow people around on the streets

was planning to steal the titanium from the military base anyway just for fun

And that's just the stuff we see from Nikolai's and Zoya's incredibly limited perspectives during their Ketterdam sidequest

I 100% agree with Zoya when she thinks that "maybe Kaz was like Nikolai, a boy with an unquiet mind, a man in perpetual need of challenge" because ROW makes it so obvious that Kaz is bored and incredibly restless in his success. Someone get our boy a new life's purpose and a subscription to a long-running unsolved mystery podcast stat

Netflix canceling Shadow and Bone season 3 and not doing a Six of Crows spin-off has got to be one of their dumbest decisions in the past 4 years. It is one of their most popular tv shows and was ranked 1st for weeks after season 1 and 2 dropped around the world. At this point, Netflix is just asking to lose everything because they have continuously canceled the most popular TV shows and try to replace them with really shitty ones.

But, I am so grateful to Leigh Bardugo, all the directors, producers, writers, costume designers, set crew, and literally every single person involved for bringing it all to life and putting their entire beings into making it as perfect as it is.

And of course I will always forever love every single actor for making all my favorite characters walk right off the pages and bring tears to my eyes.

my theory for soc 3 is that it's gonna open with a zoyalai wedding, and the crows are just there cause nikolai likes them, and then someone fucks up and then the plot actually starts.

i love how sankta neyar's speech and character was relevant to all the characters there. to wesper it was "you guard against pain. you guard against joy." to kanej it was "but when you allow yourself to be blindsided by love... two worlds make a universe. he's not my weakness. he's my universe." to zoya it was "i closed my heart, as if that was the solution to ending all pain. what a safe way to live. what a small way as well." for tolya i'm sure he loved how poetic neyar was and that a shu saint was talking to them. and for nina well... "and i will see him through his days. sharing every moment... until he is part of the night sky."
