I decided to make Victorian Kaito into a plush, and for the Kikagoods CJD doll as V1 Kaito. The next Kaito poll (already ended with 15 votes, thank y'all sm) still carries out, it's just changed to a plush now. As for the CJD, I originally planned for it to be V1 and I want to stick with those plans.
The Victorian Kaito already has a concept in mind, I just need to get proper materials for him when I have the chance. For the time being, I just have enough to make the Kikagoods CJD V1 Kaito.

#jay rambles.txt#two very hard pills to swallow: 1. art has always been created for money and it's a very normal practice in human history#and actually artists being expected to produce art for free or as cheap as they do now is a relatively new thing#2. humans have always created art for validation because being recognised and understood by your fellow humans is a universal human need#if you start to idealise artistry as something inherently selfless that needs to come with no gain or benefits or instead brings only pain#you are going down a VERY dangerous path of not being able to express yourself without shame - if at all#and potentially dragging other people you told close down into that mentality too if you're vocal about it#I've been there#I am there#It's a shitty feeling but the only way out of it is true embrace your need to be loved and desire for human connection or it won't end well#idk that's my opinion tho

sorry im emotonal and going off of the other asks sent about machete and just i need to stress how beautiful it is to me that machete sees himself so undeserving of love and affection and feeling as if vasco's too good for him but despite all that he is so incredibly devoted to vasco and loving towards him (in his own way) but is so incredibly clear to anyone with eyes that just how in love he is with vasco. like it's not done out of a "oh god please never realize that you're too good for me here here let me overdo it with the affection" its done with the "i love you, and will always love you, no matter what happens to us or separates us, and i will give it to you as long as i am able, and if you ever leave, i won't be okay, but will still love you, and want you happy". like he doesn't use his own feelings of being undeserving taint his love or the way he loves for vasco, and it's so, so beautiful

btw since I'm Verbenaposting, nice as your LI's smile is at the end as it is, and how I like how it kind of echoes the way they gaze up at the Inquisitor and their advisors after the final fight of that game (which, really nice, here they're beside you and in no way below, driving home the way Rook in the story is part of the group while the Inquisitor is always above in some way), I kinda wanna rewrite it for myself the same way I did then, and hc that the immediate aftermath of the final fight is far less dignified.
Like you can't give me sweet, passionate men like Davrin and Dorian, and just have them SMILE at their beloved after they return from what, to everyone reasonable, looks like absolute mortal peril.
It's not just a nice, fond smile, but a fucking bone-squeezing, leg-swinging, drunk on victory kind of hug that's still dripping all sorts of grime and blood, but nobody really cares because (to live with Davrin's turn of phrase) bleeding thorns, you're here, we won, you're alive, you're here, you're mine, I love you.
... So I think that following the endgame, Ver holds it together just until they manage to descend from the Thing (the one that I keep wanting to call the brainstem even though it's not), and Davrin was left down there to help defend the people so he's there to catch her as she basically leaps into his arms and crumples- just like he's always been there to catch her, to lend his strength, and wherever you are, that's where I am, god bless
in my mind, the bottom of that thing being just. a big heap. a cuddlepile.
Ver first crumples into Davrin's arms from like a foot up that thing still. then Taash and Bellara, who came up with her, silently embrace the both of them (Bel on shaky fawn-legs and looking like she's unsure of whether she's about to burst out laughing or into tears; Taash with their head dropped and stock still save for the tremble in their hands- processing still but about five minutes from a "WHOOOO!!!! YEAAAAAHHHH!!!!!"), all three (now four) covered in Elgar'nan's weirdly sticky, tarlike blood that smells like death and clings like a shadow (but it no longer sings with Blight, so Davrin honestly doesn't give half a shit).
Assan is circling their legs like they're slalom poles, overjoyed that his other favorite person is back again. There's all the couples embracing (with most of Neve's weight probably being supported by Lucanis tbqh, poor woman must be so terminally exhausted), but honestly, few people really care whose hand they're shaking or whose arms are circling around their waist, because they fucking won and survived, and there's the fucking Sun, and the overwhelming joy ripples out from the epicenter of it all until the soldiers and citizens in Minrathous are all crying and laughing and embracing one another.
(Dorian is off to the side fussing over his amatus for climbing down a fucking Blight-wall with essentially one hand because for some reason he didn't think that he shouldn't wear his everyday, carved wood prosthetic hand this morning instead of one that moves in any way, and honestly, what is he to do with this man, Maker he's going to be the death of him, they'll have to find another Archon, and then he'll be sorry.)

#will say. the anime is way more non con and uncomfortable than the manga#i do appreciate that these disaster lesbians later find solace and stability. but you dont get to see a lot of that in the anime as#they only start dating at the end of the anime. aka manga chapter 16. the manga continues for 41 chaperts iirc.#and then there's also citrus+. the step sisters thing did also throw me off at first#however they only met at the start of the series when yuzu transfers into the all girl aihara academy#and they only learned they had become step siblings when they both come home to their mom#and she reveals that she (yuzus bio mom) married Mei's bio dad#seriously though. the anime went overboard and extended some of the assault sequences as fan service and just yikes.#they were there in the manga to a lesser extent. for instance the first kiss lasted like 3 panels and a two page spread.#while in the anime it was like 40ish seconds (i went and checked the timecode after reading the original chapter to compare)#oh well#at least it wasnt the first yuri media i encountered? still not entirely sure why ive officially gained citrus brainrot for a week now tho#citrus#meiyuzu#saburouta#if you do plan to check out the series. read the manga unless you're comfortable with 'assault as fan service'#...i will admit to kicking my feet. squeeing. and squeezing a pillow like a schoolgirl reading some of it tho hkrkbfhkd

trying to add a scene into an old chap bc a specific plot thread has been bothering me for a while now but ITS SO HARD TO CHANGE SOMETHING THATS ALREADY PUBLISHED WITHOUT ENTIRELY REWRITING. my editing style is quite literally "if sucks, rewrite from scratch" which isnt useful rn. pain and suffering for ten thousand years
#tteote ch28 is gonna gain a scene fyi#just because. okay wait loredrop#tteote used to be one fic#that was gonna be like . 100k#then i had more ideas and i was like ok 200kish super long fic sounds good#then i wrote the “100k” bit and it ended up 200k#and i was like oh shit okay right i gotta make this two fics#which is fine bc the “100k” bit ends quite nicely as its own thing (this mission specifically#vs The Bigger War is a good way to divide it)#BUT THAT MEANS#that some ominous character interactions#will not be resolved in this fic#like you wont find out what i hinted at until next fic#and thats probably like a year away bc i gotta actually write it lol#so ive gotta have those characters turn up again or it'll just looklike a loose end i abandoned for no reason. if that makes sense#the more i think abt it the more annoyed i am that theyre two fics because some of the tiny minor side characters in tteote#get fun roles in fic 2#bUT i cant recombine them bc the ending works so well now#so you'll all have to be patient#sorry for that LONG ASS CONTEXT RAMBLE#but yea im adding kaneko back into ch28 bc i made him sooo ominous then just abandoned him#so. that'll drop along with ch32#im hoping#wish me luck#tteote

Torn between "they're woobifying Aventurine too much to appeal to people who can't stand the idea of liking villainous characters" and "they're heathclif.fying Aventurine and that's catnip to me"
#If they do keep heathclif.fying him this is going to suck for me because I would have two Heathclif.f adjacent characters#and one would lean more towards the orphic and Jack side#while the other perhaps more towards the Odysseu.s/all for keeping alive/that other side of Jack/plays with words side#I adore both sides#And I think it's exceedingly interesting what they're doing with those thought experiments/game theory eidolons#What it brings to his characterisation and even the concept of deals/gambling#This game made Divination in the Luofu mainly a thing of analysing patterns and is making gambles so much a thing of game theory#And it fits so much with Aventurine over and over saying he's trustworthy because if you do have trust in the other person in some of those#thoughts experiments‚ then the outcome is often overall more convenient for both parties. It's super super interesting#The fact that it's or can be so closely related to logic is such an interesting choice and yet so fitting#and goes so well with again Penacony and ironically so well with Aventurine's whole deal. I'm so down for it#Anyway... I'm loving him. I only hope they don't make him so much of a sob story he ends up being only a wet dog so to speak#That they don't forget he can also be ruthless and all that. Because I do love that side of him too#And as I said before‚ he can do whatever he wants at this point‚ set on fire the IPC‚ Penacony or the Express for convenience#Or revenge#He has gained the right haha#I talk too much#I should probably delete this later

thinking 'bout how the lads interact with what the bracelets represent, especially in their decks
#marwospeaking#Yuuya is by far hardest to work with on this because he Varies. but that might just be him being opposite to Yuzu so it might count?#anyway Yuuya is a bushfire made by fireworks set off without proper precaution (the improperly set off fireworks being Zarc..#.. being influenced into the position that made the lads through his desire to both destroy and entertain his crowds)#It's small sometimes. but in the right conditions is an unstoppable conflagration#Yuuto literally does not die. In a world where we never truly get the other two (Yuugo and Yuuri) interacting with their host (Yuuya)..#.. outside of duels. he very much does. He is undead in a way the others don't quite match (pre Zarc revival) and it's opposite to..#.. En Bird's life (assuming it counts death too as part of its cycle)#Yuugo uses machine monsters - things that distinctly don't breathe. and in most cases have exhaust pipes billowing fumes#and machines can be warm to the touch at times. which you could feasibly slide against Rin's Windwitches for being Very Cold Ladies#Also he's trapped no matter where he is. Neo Domino has a stronger grip on him as a person than anyone else. and when he might finally..#.. escape that. he's trapped in someone else's body with no canonical recourse. because the story ended on Yuuya's terms and no one elses#Yuuri is hardest to place but I think he's very stationary. Sere's monsters are dancers - constantly moving - and she's very able to#adapt as she goes despite how stupid she can be book-wise. Yuuri is rooted into his role. even when he discards his loyalty his role was..#.. always in Zarc's interest no matter if he knew or not. The Professor's loyalty from him is an add-on to that#... I'd argue Zarc cared more about his pieces than Ray cared about hers also? He made cards for them on the fly so they'd Win#Even in moments where that victory is not in a wholly positive light - Odd-Eyes Raging and Gatlinghoul - but we know he's capable of it..#.. a la allowing Yuuya to debut pendulum monsters on his behalf in order to win against Ishijima#something something this can then apply to the other lads. they never lose except to each other and Ray's girls (at least on screen)#Yuuto survived 3 years of war. even despite Yuugo and Yuuri showing up. so methinks Zarc must've had a role in helping him survive#Like. Zarc's distinctly present for his Lads.
