So there's this episode of Community where Jack Black guest stars, and his character wants to join the study group. We learn this character was there in their Spanish class the whole time, he was just in background where the camera never focused on him so we, the audience, did not notice and the Study Group was too self-involved to notice.

Anyhow, this is how I picture Daniel in the last two VC books. He's there, he's reacting to things, he's having conversations with Armand and Marius off on the sidelines, but for whatever reason Lestat is leaving that out of the books. Maybe Daniel bribed him! I don't know. But it's funny as hell to think about it happening this way.

Is it true that Levan Akin said TVL is Lestat manipulating the audience?

In a podcast, ages ago, I talked about it here:

“Because you don't want, I don't want the audience to feel that Louis is an idiot. You know what I mean? Like it has, you have to understand that Louis is like, okay, like he finally gave me something truthful and something real, he's being vulnerable. Speaking of sort of this intimacy and this question of the toxicity of this relationship, do you think Lestat deserves forgiveness? This is an interesting question because I was thinking about it. You know, when you read the books and when you read The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned, you know, this it's told from Lestat's perspective. So in a way, he's sort of manipulating the reader and you really love him and he's amazing and you're like inside his mind and he motivates all of his, you know, bad decisions and all of the bad stuff he does, you know, because you understand him.”

They were talking explicitly about Lestat retelling his story in 1x06 for Louis when Louis takes him back.

So that has to be seen in this context.

Also.

Look, I love Levan as a director, but he also had to sit down with Sam and have Lestat being not "evil" explained to him (I talked about it here), and... well. I don't align with all of his views. Nor the hosts on the podcast, but I have talked about that, because she and her guest do not (seem to) have the background knowledge about the chronicles. Also, if he equates Lestat's POV as manipulation... then Louis' is as well. Each POV is?! Also the question of "forgiveness" is something that the host and the fandom often go on about, but... within the VC? They're all monstrous, they all do terrible things. They're all killers. I find that is the wrong question.

And so I found this weird for Levan, because he said he read the books. He should be aware of some things. But... he also stays very much "in the episode" for his answers, so that has to be considered.

This isn't a comment on the big arc of the chronicles. It is one on the scene for 1x06.

Hello :) I was wondering if we ever got confirmation about which books Rolin is interested in focusing this adaptation on? I know that they'll probably take elements from most (if not all) VC books, but if they're aiming at 7-8 seasons with some books taking multiple seasons to adapt, they're going to have to pick and choose which books to really dig into.

I was also thinking about production. I've seen people talk about how we'll need to wait another 1.5-2 years between seasons and I kinda doubt that? I feel like we'll start speeding things up and getting a new season every year, mostly because I just can't see them go for 12+ years of production on this show. Very few shows nowadays go more than 10 years, and if they really want to do 7-8 seasons I can't see how they'll manage that with 1.5 to 2 years in between each season. I understand they're in for the long haul with the Immortal Universe but...that's very long in the modern drama landscape.

Honestly I am mostly just hoping to get new seasons more frequently and also be able to see their full vision realized because the longer it goes on the higher the chance they'll run into issues like actor availability, leadership changes that could impact renewals, budget restrictions, etc. What do you think?

Okay, first to answer the production question. Now, while many shows rarely go past 10 years wrt production of them, that is really dependent on their Season count. Game of Thrones, for example, only ran for 8 Seasons, and production only lasted 8 years as well.

The Walking Dead ran for 11 Seasons and was produced over 12 years.

AMC has said in the past (or, at least, Rolin Jones has said that AMC has said) that they wanted 10 Seasons for IWTV. RJ, however, has been consistent in saying he has an 8 Season plan.

So whether the show continues on for at least 2 more years after Rolin's 8 Season plan is up in the air right now and we should just focus on, at most, getting 8 Seasons, Which yes, I think will take over the course of 8-9 years to film.

Because I think starting with Season 3, the wait and production times will decrease over time. Remember, the strikes threw a bit of a wrench into things. But what also did regarding Season 2 was that it's clear that Rolin and the writing staff didn't start actually writing Season 2 until AMC had officially greenlit Season 2 back in September of 2022. That is why shooting for Season 2 couldn't start in the fall of 2022, there were no scripts broken, let alone written yet!

And then, once the scripts were done, they still had to start pre-production stuff, such as location scouting, figuring out which sets needed to be built, etc.

So shooting for Season 2 could only start shooting when it did because it was the earliest they could get all that done once they were given a renewal notice.

I think things are very different when it comes to Season 3 because I think, even if the show hadn't already been quietly renewed for Season 3 before it was officially announced, RJ and the other writers were already breaking and writing the scripts for Season 3 starting either just before or while Season 2 was airing. And so given that writing time, plus the fact that they probably don't have to do as much location scouting (since many of those locations were already found in Season 2) pre-production will likely take less time.

I think filming will begin in late October, meaning we'd get an October 2025 release date. Which I think will be the standard release window going forward with each new season and why the wait will be another long one again, but that will also give the production staff and actors breathing room after they are done filming a season before going into the next one.

So for that reason, I can see production of the show lasting 9-10 years, but that is because of the extra 1/2 year gaps between the filming and airing of Season 2 and the one I feel we are going to get for Season 3.

As well as the fact that I think when they get to Queen of the Damned, that will be a true split-season like the one Breaking Bad got for its final season. That show had Season 5, Part 1, and Season 5, Part 2. Because even though this past season was called "Season 2" externally, you can see by the episode numbers that internally, what this really was was "Season 1, Part 2."

Anyway, as to the books being adapted -- and not just having elements taken from them -- Rolin has said for sure we are getting IWTV (which we just finished), The Vampire Lestat (Season 3), Queen of the Damned (which is where he spoke about it being so epic and grand a story that they will probably have to split the season in order to tell it all) and Tale of the Body Theif (which he confirmed after Season 2 was finished that they were beginning to already set up for). He also mentioned at Comic-Con in 2022 that Prince Lestat would be adapted.

Also, while RJ talked about the book The Vampire Armand being important, he's never said it would get its own separate adaptation, which honestly makes sense. Because of the way that book is told, you can just interweave elements of it when you want to focus on Armand's backstory, or even just do a stand-alone episode here and there dedicated to parts of it. It really isn't the kind of book you do a full season on IMO.

So yeah. The books that we know for sure are getting their own, full adaptations per RJ so far are IWTV, TVL, QotD, TotBT, and PL.

I can see them throwing elements of books like Memnoch, TVA, and Blood and Gold into it all, but I don't know if they'll get their own full-season adaptations. As I said, I don't think TVA will. And I don't think B&G will either, as I see it just like TVA -- you adapt elements of it during a season, maybe even full sections of it for a flashback episode or so during a season, but it doesn't get its own full stand-alone season.

The same goes for Merrick, since they already did Louis' suicide attempt and Louis seems to be moving forward from his despair and grief regarding Claudia -- so that even if Lestat did fall into his post-Memnoch coma in the show, I'm not sure this Louis would attempt to end his life again over that loss. (Even more so after this Louis also got that letter from Lestat in the past, telling Louis to please live on in the event of his death.)

I have no idea if they are seriously going to ever do Blackwood Farm or Blood Canticle. Neither book has ever been mentioned, even in passing. Plus, they kind of depend on what and where Mayfair Witches is at or has going on at the time and well, that show . . . 😅

Oh! And they might be looking to adapt the whole Prince Lestat trilogy, but I don't remember if RJ has talked about adapting the whole trilogy -- meaning the entirety of each book -- or just the full first book and then elements from the other two. (Because I do think it's clear that, if anything, we'll get the Loustat ballroom dance from Blood Communion in the final season of the show).

So yeah, I think that this is what we're looking at for the next few years, book adaptation-wise.

You were gonna visit your friend, Sage, and grab some lunch with her. You guys haven't met up in a while, you are writing a book and dealing with a server full of killers and hers, family issues and working overtime. Finally, after a week of trying to find a time and date to hang out, it was decided today at 11 am. It was planned after lunch to go to the mall and look around. 

But even when you woke up, something felt.. off to you. You mostly shrugged it off and got ready. You texted V, saying morning and that you were up. He knew you were gonna be busy for about 3 hours, hearing you rant about how excited you were to meet her again, making him slightly jealous. It was a bit difficult to tell him that you were just friends. But besides the point, you got ready, and grabbed your keys on your way out. 

You unlocked your beater car, it was second hand from your parents when they got a new car. Which, you accepted happily when you turned 18, it got you to places fine, and only had a few problems every once in a while. As you started up your car and started leaving your home, you felt this worry. You continued to ignore it as you drove, it might just be your nerves acting up since it was the first time in a while since you saw Sage.  

You slowed down at the intersection, stopping for the red light. As you bopped your head to the song on the speakers. It turned red, and as you started driving again, not seeing the speeding car about to crash in. Immediately, you felt pain from it. You felt something wet on your lips and pain in your stomach. As you touched your head, you could feel like someone was taking an ax into your skull. You blink a couple times, looking around. You were at the rear-end, you could see the driver from the car behind you. He seems to have been passed out, and you could feel your head slowly grow heavier as your sights went black.

As you woke up again, you could hear the heartbeat monitor next to you. You looked around, you swore you were driving, what happened? You felt some slight pain from your stomach and a light headache. You don’t seem to be roughed up. 

As you were about to call for a nurse, the doctor came in. He was happy to tell you what went down. You were rear-ended by someone who was driving faster than he should be. And that both of you were fine, he would stay here for a couple days while you had to stay for a week, as you tore your liver and somehow fractured your kidney by the seat belt you wore. 

As he walked out of the room, you finally realized that bad feeling you were getting. That bad feeling was about the car accident. You grabbed your phone that the doctor had on your bed. You saw the spam texts the server was sending. It was about 7 pm, way too late and you missed the mafia game. Sage also texted, you put her up to date before getting on the server. You saw that everyone was in the vc, which kinda surprised you. Everyone would be off doing something since mafia should done. 

Getting a bit mischievous, you took a selfie, and posted it to the media chat with the caption, “I lived bitches. Mr. Sky daddy demanded me back down to this realm.” The selfie was with your head wrapped in bandages, in the hospital gown, and winking with your tongue out. Looking both handsome/cute and worse. 

Immediately, you were spammed, with ‘what happened’ and ‘omg’. Also, including Ronin reacting with a laughing emoji from your caption. You typed out that you weren’t feeling up to call(especially with the heartbeat monitor next to you) but got into a crash and that you were fine as well. 

You answered a few of their questions, not getting too much into it as you don’t know as much of the details yet. But V, he asked you in private messages. 

“Where are you located?”

“A hospital?” You were feeling sassy, as after all, a little entertainment can’t hurt.

“Which one, Love?” 

You rolled your eyes as you typed out the hospital, you figured he might just send you flowers, like a cliche tv drama. But after a while, he didn’t respond. You figured he might be on the server talking as he was still in the vc. You just shrugged it off as you just scrolled on your socials. 

Well, until you hear a nurse come in and say someone was here for you. You figured it might be Sage, most likely apologizing for this, when it wasn’t her fault. So you invited her in, except it wasn’t Sage. It was your boyfriend.

“V?!” You didn’t know what to feel, he lived like an hour away from your home. You knew you felt shocked but there were more questions. “Why are you here?”

“Was in the area.” He stated as he got closer, pulling a chair closer to you and grabbing your hand. He looks so saddened to see you in this state. “Are you feeling pain?” 

You were in a state of shock, “V… Just how are you here? You live an hour away and it’s only been… 35 minutes from my text, plus you’re still in the vc…” You looked at him with a smile, “Did you not hang up to see me?”

He looked away a bit embarrassed but coughed and looked back at you. “You didn’t answer my question, Love? Are you feeling pain?” 

You nod, “I’m also on some pain meds they gave me. I’m fine. They’re treating me okay. I promise, V.” 

He gave a soft sigh as he looked at you with his eyes softened. His eyes do look at the bandages on your head, with his hand moving to brush your hair and him kissing the bandages on your head. “I’m glad you are fine, you scared me with that photo. When you didn’t reply to my text, I thought you and your friend were still hanging out. But it was one of the worst things that could happen.”

You gave a soft smile as you put your hand on his arm. “But I’m alive and… somewhat healthy? So I’m okay, and fine. Though, sorry for not being there for game night.”

His hand leads back to your hand, holding it softly. You could feel his hand shaking, he was still scared of the possibilities. “We hold off on it, it didn’t feel fair without you.”

“Well, once I’m out of here, I’m sure game night will be back on. And please,” You sighed out. “Don’t kill me first again. It was so unfair, I was the doctor.” 

He snorts softly and chuckles softly. “I make no promises, darling.”

Making my grand return after 3 weeks of inactivity! (Though I may not be active all the time) Lets talk about TPOT 14!

While I did enjoy this episode a lot, the only downside I have with it is how it was a little too fast paced, I can handle that for BFDIA, but I think knowing how TPOT usually is maybe it was a little offputting, I might need to do a rewatch, but I remember a lot from the episode so im still goin with this post.

So with that said...lets start the ramble session!

So I just want to point out how Pencil is clearly living in the past on how obsessed she is to desprately reform FreeSmart by getting Book and Ice Cube, idk why it just feels funny and weird, you can clearly tell how uncomfortable they were in this and last episode that they want nothing to do with her, whatever the hell she did to them in IDFB (im still having thoughts the 'FreeSmart downfall' is gonna hppen in IDFB with Match being the first to leave the LOL.)

Ill admit the shot of the new TCOA was pretty cool, I like it when they implement 3d things into BFDI

Now... onto the CAS. I freaked out so bad in vc when I saw Pin and Ice Cube safe, ik Taggy and Book was gonna be safe so i didnt worry, but felt like Pin was in danger because she couldnt do much being stuck to Gaty, I thought Icy was gonna be out because she was used just to try and kill the fish monster, she couldnt really do much. But OH MY GOD.

I FUCKING GOT IT RIGHT. FOR A WHILE I HAD A FEELING ERASER AND GATY WAS GONNA BE OUT. Ill be honest Eraser didnt have much going on anymore because of Teardrop being eliminated in TPOT 9, so what else did he have left? I dont know exactly, I really had expected him getting out. Now TREE? I didnt expect him to be in the bottom 2, I thought he would be third to last safe, Pin and Gaty being bottom two because both of them didnt do much but be stabbed and used as a weapon by Robot Flower. As much as I love Gaty, I had a feeling she was gonna be out, and finding out I was right about her and Eraser being out made me insanely shocked. The first time I ever got a TPOT prediction right, though I thought One was gonna immediately snatch them up soon after, but good thing Book took notice of it and try to have and her, alongside Pin try to keep Gaty safe. While the others threw Eraser around basically.

Now im glad we got to see the elimination space again, and seeing the others are trying to escape, Fries and Puffball trying to break what seems to be a barrier? Also I noticed Saw, Nickel and Coiny are not there, ik they arent snatched by One but maybe theyre somewhere?

This genuinely made me sad, I had a really good feeling Two was gonna be upset about Gaty being out, I was definetly aware they couldnt bring themself to send her to the elimination space knowing how close she is to them, I didnt expect them to send her to kitchen, however, seeing the scene of One staring at her makes me feel like Two should had sent her there, Gaty is at risk of being snatched, which is gonna upset them even more or hell, send them into a panic, from what ive seen, they seem to brush off the fact Bell/Bomby/Barf Bag/Needle are missing, but what happens if Gaty disappears? Will they try to keep running the show? Theres a lot of predictions you can go off from.

Glad to see Firey Jr again!

Its funny how DPYA tried to do the same thing from last episode trying to defeat that venus flytrap(?), like sure that would totally work again.

Kind of like how Pin thought doing this again was gonna work in BFDIA 15, LOL.

Closing out my post on the post credits scene, I kind of wonder where the other exitors went. I completely freaked out seeing Match end up in the Pillary Ruins, and this shot here is so cool like.... Knowing last episode we saw Firey and Leafy, are we gonna see more of the BFB contestants again? I wonder what they will have for the plot in future episodes...

And something tells me FreeSmart may reform again, knowing Match is with Ruby and Bubble, and apparently Pencil trying to get Ice Cube and Book back, though its not gonna happen.

THE NEXT DAY

"Our baby is big as a lemon right now. At this stage, our baby's intestines and vocal cords are developing. Tiny bones are also beginning to form in the arms and legs. This is so fascinating" Jenna gushed as she leaned more into your side.

You were currently focused on the intense game of baseball as your feet were propped on your coffee table. The two of you were enjoying each other's company until Jenna had to leave for London to film Beetlejuice 2 later tonight.

"Are we going to have a baby shower?" You asked.

"Yeah just a small one though and a little more into my pregnancy, maybe when I'm around 30 weeks" Jenna answered.

You nodded at your girlfriend. Your attention is then stolen by the Yankees vs. Padres baseball game on the TV. Jenna continued looking at the information the pregnancy app provided on her phone. Suddenly, the buzzer to your apartment goes off. You go to the buzzer, "Who is it?"

"Yuh Mada" Delyse responded. You buzz your mother in and unlock the door so she can come in. You then sat back down next to Jenna. A few minutes later, Del burst into the apartment with multiple bags in her hands.

You sighed, "Ma what is all that?"

"Nothing for you, some of this is for Jenna and...maybe the baby. Anyway, Jenna since you are leaving tonight I packed you a little pregnancy kit. I got you some prenatal vitamins, ginger & peppermint for any nausea you may get, and raspberry leaves for your iron and it can increase milk production if you decide to breastfeed" Del listed off.

Jenna's heart swelled at your mother's thoughtfulness, "Thank you so much Ms. Delyse. I appreciate this."

"Oh sweetie, us mothers have to stick together and watch over one another" Del smiled at the young woman.

"Do I get anything?" You ask.

"You get a non-cranky baby mother" Del replied to you.

You playfully glare at your mother. Del handed Jenna the bag of her stuff and sat opposite the couple. The buzzer to your apartment goes off again. You groan in frustration and confusion about who it could be.

"Who is it?" You asked.

"Davis" Davis answered. You buzzed him in and sat in your spot again. Soon after, Davis walks in with a flyer in his hand.

"Hey, Ms. Del I haven't seen you in a minute. How was Jamaica?" Davis asked.

"Wonderful. I needed that vacation" Del answered.

"I feel that. I need a vacation too. I haven't been on one in months" Davis said and sat in the empty spot next to you and Jenna.

"We should plan to go to the Bahamas" You suggest.

"Oh let's do it I've always wanted to go to the Bahamas," Davis said.

You then notice the flyer in his hand, "What's that?"

"Oh, that's why I came over here. This is a music competition, winner gets a five million dollar record deal with Passion Records. I saw that Twitter video of you singing, you should sign up" Davis proposed.

"Nah I'm good" You declined.

Davis looked at you in shock, "What? Why not?"

"I don't wanna be under another label. I've done it before and it went sideways. I don't want people telling me what music to make or getting the majority of the money I worked hard for" You explained and shrugged your shoulders.

"But it can expose you to different opportunities so you can propel yourself properly in the industry. You don't have to stay under a label forever" Davis said.

You sighed, "I don't know I'll think about it."

"Well, you better think about it sooner than later. The deadline to submit your demo is in two weeks" Davis informed you and handed you the flyer.

You read over it and the information on the paper. Submission deadline ends on June 15th at 11:59 pm. Any type of music is accepted but it has to be under three minutes. Five million dollar record label with Passion Records. You heard about the label, but before signing with the local one, you tried numerous times to get a rep. to listen to your music. You never got a response from them. But now you have a chance to finally pursue your dream of being a global sensation in music. A dream you've had since you were 8 and went to your first concert.

Maybe it would be a great opportunity.

"We still going to the courts around 1?" Davis asked.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about that. Sisqo owes me my $50 from the last game" You said.

"What's the courts?" Jenna questioned.

"Basketball courts around the corner from her. Me and Davis always play a pickup game with some friends from the block every Friday" You answered.

"Oh, can I come?" Jenna asked.

"Of course. You can see me whoop some ass in basketball" You smirked.

"Jah!" You heard Davis yell from your right. Your eyes glance at Davis who was getting pressed by his defender. You knew if you passed it to him, he was either going to lose the ball or shoot and miss. You were down by 2 and if the other team scored it was game over. You had to play smart.

You pass it to Davis but you sprinted behind him to shake your defender. You were successful and got to the corner where Davis passed it to you. You caught it and immediately shot a three. You watched as it swished in the net, winning you the game.

"Yeah, buddy!" You exclaimed excitedly.

Jenna clapped and cheered on the sidelines while you and Davis dapped each other up. She sat back down in her seat while you started talking to the other team. She was surprised she even sat through the whole basketball game. She was more into soccer than any other sport but pick-up basketball was entertaining.

"Mind if I sit here?" A soft voice brought Jenna out of her thoughts. She looked to her right and saw an angelic woman. She looked like a Disney princess.

"No, no go for it" Jenna smiled. She grabbed her book from beside her but she felt eyes burning into the side of her head. She looked and saw the woman staring at her with recognition in her eyes.

"My apologies for staring at you but I love your work. Wednesday is currently my favorite series right now. You also did your thing in the Scream movies" The woman complimented.

"Thank you so much" Jenna gave the woman another smile.

"You know I never expected to run into you in the Bronx. This is the last place I ever thought" The woman chuckled.

Jenna nervously chuckled, "Yeah...just hanging and watching some basketball."

She didn't want to deal with a fan's pressing questions. She knew she should've put her disguise on. But luckily, Jenna relaxed a little when she saw you look at the woman with recognition in her eyes. Jenna watched as you tapped Davis rapidly on his arm and pointed toward the bleachers.

"Yo Diana, I ain't know you were gon' be here" You smiled and gave her a side hug.

Davis, on the other hand, was staring at her like a lovesick puppy.

"Yeah I was just walking by and I saw the two of you. Thought I'd stop and say hello...hey Davis" Diana smiled at Davis.

"H-Hey Diana" Davis nervously waved back.

You and Jenna smirked at each other while watching. Davis is a nervous mess in front of Diana.

"Oh Jenna, this is Diana, Diana this is Jenna. The three of us went to school together along with her twin sister Stacey" You said.

At the mention of the name Stacey, jealousy flushed through her as she remembered the night of the Met Gala. The beautiful girl that was attached to your hip like glue all night, posting you any chance she got.

"How is Stacey?" You asked.

"Good. She went back to Spelman last week but she'll be back for summer break" Diana told you. You nodded, took a sip of your water, and sat in front of Jenna.

"Word? I ain't know she got into Spelman. What is she going for?" You asked.

"Major in Music and minor in Theatre & Performance. Same as me just at a different school" Diana answered.

Unconsciously, you leaned back in between Jenna's legs. She placed her head on top of yours and her arms on your shoulders.

Diana smirked, "Y'all are cute together."

"I'm cute all the time" You playfully said.

"Mhmm I don't know about that. You have your moments" Jenna commented.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa you gon' do me like that babe. That's wild" You exclaimed.

"All I said was you have your moments. We got our moments too" Jenna defended playfully. Diana let out a giggle at the two of you.

"Speaking of cute, you should holla at Davis. Don't think I don't see the way you keep glancing over at him" You smirk.

"Uh...I don't know. I just got out of a relationship, a bad one at that. I don't think I'm ready for another one just yet" Diana vacillated.

"You don't have to jump into another relationship. I'm just saying to you know talk to him and become friends. But if you don't wanna do it, that's fine I'm not gonna force you or anything" You said.

Diana glanced at Davis again who looked up this time from his bag and smiled at her. She looked down to hide the blush that appeared on her cheeks. She then went into her purse and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen. She wrote her number and walked down the bleaches.

"I have to go but call me whenever you aren't busy" Diana smiled at him and placed the paper in his hands. She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before walking off the court.

"I'm the best wingwoman ever aren't I" You smiled.

"Uh I've seen better" Jenna shrugged.

You suck your teeth as she laughed, "You a hater bruh."

"Tap, tap, and then we lock our middle fingers. End it off with a fist bump and touch thumbs" You explain to Jenna and demonstrate the handshake you guys just came up with. The two of you came back from the basketball courts and went back to Jenna's hotel room so the actress could finish packing.

"I don't want to leave" Jenna pouted as the both of you sat on the floor against her bed. It was getting closer to the time for Jenna to leave for the airport and she was having a hard time. The both of you were really, you just kept to yourself.

"You could always call me you know. No matter the time, I'll always pick up for you" You said sincerely. 

Truth be told, it was nice to finally have someone around. Someone new.

“You'll pick up at any time?" Jenna questioned amused.

"Yep. I'm an insomniac so 9 times out of ten I'll be up doing absolutely nothing productive" You chuckled. 

Jenna giggled, "I'm going hold you to that."

The two of them sat in a comfortable silence looking out at the sun setting sky. Neither of you uttered a word but your eyes slowly drifted to the woman next to you. The orange color bounced off her skin beautifully, making her freckles pop even more than before. You've seen your fair share of beautiful women but nothing compared to her. 

"Take a picture it'll last longer" Jenna spoke softly. 

You pulled your phone and quickly captured a picture of the actress. 

Jenna chuckled, "No way, you actually took a picture."

"You told me too. Now, I have an exclusive picture of Jenna Ortega. Should I sell it to these paparazzi weirdos?" You joked. 

"Do it. I bet you'll make a fortune" Jenna replied.

Suddenly, a ding is heard from Jenna's phone. She grabbed it from the nightstand and sighed as she looked at the person who texted her.

Nancy The Manager: we're outside

Jenna pouted as she read the message. She was hoping she got at least another hour with you but the universe didn't want to lift her spirits.

"They're here" Jenna grumbled.

You stood up from the floor and slipped on your slides. You grabbed her bags and Jenna got her airport outfit on. She checked to make sure she had everything before the two of you walked to the elevator.

After the elevator takes you to the hotel parking garage, you help place her bags in the trunk before you turn to her.

"I'm going to miss you" Jenna sniffled.

"Imma miss you too Hollywood" You pouted. The two of you hug each other tightly, not wanting to let go. But before she left, you bent down to be level with her small protruding stomach.

"Aight listen, it's just gon' be you and momma for a couple of months. You two take care of each other, if she is overworking herself, you better tell her to sit her ass down somewhere" You added, "Mama loves you and I'll be waiting here for the both of you to come back." You kiss her stomach and stand up.

"Why would you do that? Now I'm crying" Jenna cried and tried to wipe the tears from her eyes.

You chuckled, "I just to let it be known."

Jenna wiped the tears from her face and climbed into the SUV.

"Call or text whenever you land," You said.

"I will" Jenna reassured.

You then step back from the SUV. Big L climbs into the driver's side and after a moment pulls off. Jenna blew you a kiss which you caught and you waited until you couldn't see them anymore to walk to your car and eventually left the hotel.

The journey to the airport was a quiet one. Jenna was scrolling through her social media, which is rare for the girl. Music was blasting in her ears as she didn't want to engage with anyone, especially Hudson. She was still furious with the male after the stunt he pulled with her family. She didn't even spare him a glance as she got into the SUV, which stung him a little.

After almost an hour, Jenna finally arrived at Teterboro Airport. She was flying private this time and she didn't know why but she was secretly thankful that she didn't have to deal with the regular airport this time.

Everyone checked in and was walking to the private jet. It was small and nothing too extravagant which she liked. She just wanted to get from point A to point B safely.

The young actress was the first to step onto the plane but halted in her steps as she came face to face with someone she didn't want to see.

"Ah, nice to see you again Jenna. It's been a long time" Corneilo smiled at the girl.

Jenna looked behind her at Nancy and Hudson and saw the same shocked look on their faces.

"Please settle down and let's prepare for take-off," Neil said and pointed to the seat in front of him.

Jenna hesitated before slowly sitting in the seat in front of him, "You usually don't do in-person meetings."

"Yeah, but we have much to discuss. Things that couldn't be said over a video chat" Neil shrugged.

Nancy and Hudson hurriedly took a seat behind the two. Jenna was on edge, she was tense in her seat and she wanted nothing more than to be in your comfort again.

"Champagne?" Neil offered.

"No I'm good" Jenna declined.

The Cuban man nodded and down his glass of champagne before pouring himself another.

"What do we have to discuss?" Jenna asked impatiently.

Neil grinned, "I'm sure you know Jenna."

Jenna unconsciously hooked her arms around her stomach. She knew the man in front of her was unpredictable, she needed to be on guard the whole time.

"Do you remember why the court signed that paper Jenna?" Neil questioned.

"Because they wanted to keep the tradition going of a man ruling over a woman's life" Jenna retorted.

Neil let out a breathy laugh, "No...it's because you're reckless. That paper was designed to save you. Save you from the destructive road you were speeding down. The same road you found yourself back on."

Jenna didn't respond to him, just glared at him.

"20 years old and pregnant with a child by a talentless rat from the hood at the top of her career. Do you know how that makes me look? That I can't keep my clients in check because they do whatever they want to" Neil hissed.

"I care less about how it makes you look" Jenna snapped at the older man.

This makes Neil snap, at the speed of lighting he reaches over the table and grabs Jenna by her throat. Jenna tried to pull his hand away from her but was unsuccessful.

"You seem to forget who's in charge here. I'm the one in charge. I have the final say in what you can and cannot do, and who you can and cannot be with. I own you, Jenna. So when I tell you to jump, you ask how high. No sassy comeback, no attitude. Nothing." Neil snarled.

“Let her go Neil” Hudson glared at the older boy.

Neil’s eyes then snapped to Hudson. He let go of Jenna who was breathing heavily with tears running down her face. The older male then made his way to Hudson. He stopped just a breath away from him.

“Little Hudson Maverick, rich daddy’s boy that doesn’t know when to mind his business. A flaw of his that’s going to get him into some trouble in the future. How is mommy doing by the way? She still seeing that private exercise trainer on Thursdays and Saturdays during your father’s meetings?” Neil taunted the boy.

Nancy stood up from her seat, “That’s enough Corneilo.”

Neil then turned to look at the woman with a smirk on his face. He opens his mouth to say something but an alarm goes off on his watch.

“Hmph, dodge a bullet there Nancy” Neil commented. He smoothed out his suit and looked at them with a smile, "Enjoy the flight." He then left the private jet.

Once he left, Nancy slid next to Jenna. The young actress then gripped her shirt as she sobbed into her side.

This is the Facebook group you must absolutely follow, as it will give all of us the latest info on the event (extras, guests and everything else): Attendees/ParticipantsLANDCON7.

I can't post the link here for some reason, but you should look for it on Facebook and will find it with ease. They will ask for your ticket number, in order to become a member (it is standard procedure and not a scam). So this is really a private, closed group where logistical info is shared and groups are being formed - for bookings, arranging transportation, etc.

My proposal is to arrange van transfers from Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport to Courbevoie (the more, the cheaper & merrier) and also the promised International Shipper Dinner/Get Along. I can and will help any shipper with that and anything else logistics related. Feel free to ask and don't be strangers. And I am thinking about some more things, too.

Okay I gotta ask cause I’m curious if this has happened to others to:

Have you ever engaged with something, whether it be watching a tv show, reading a book, you get the point, and have it be soured not necessarily because of what happens in it, but by reactions to it?

Because I have and I feel like talking about it since it’s bugged me for a while.

When the Lmk season 4 special came out, I was very excited and I watched it in a group vc in a server, but I’m gonna be honest, this viewing experience was absolutely miserable for me.

When the stuff with Wukong and Macaque, some of their backstory, past interactions, all that, happened in the special, everyone was just screaming and going crazy over shadowpeach, nobody was told to mute or quiet down btw, I think the owner of the server was joining in on it even, and all I wanted was to just watch the special and see how things are gonna go with the gang and the brotherhood, but that was all overshadowed and ignored by shadowpeach.

I can’t ever rewatch the s4 special without remembering that experience and it just sours it for me greatly, and it sucks because I was super excited for it when it came out.

And to be honest this just makes me nervous for future seasons cause I’m worried that shadowpeach will be a thing the show focuses on/make fanservice of, and that will be all people talk about, or at least the majority, to a point where everything else isn’t cared about. I’m not saying that everyone is like this or will absolutely do this, but it’s been a worry I’ve had in the back of my mind.

I wanna make note that I do not hate shadowpeach, yes I do not ship it, I see Sun Wukong and Macaque as purely platonic, but I’m not gonna hate on anyone for shipping it or talking about it just because I personally don’t see it. That’d be stupid, entitled and a waste of time.

I dunno where I’m really going with this, I guess I just wanted to get this off my chest cause like I said, it’s been bugging me for a while, but I’ve been hesitant to cause I don’t wanna come off as super negative or a hater or whatever. But I feel like I should also be allowed to voice my worries or minor grievances with something. I don’t like bottling stuff in because that just makes me feel worse, and I’ve been bottling it in for a while now.

Grief, loss, and mourning are such prominent motifs in VC from the beginning to the end, especially for Louis, Lestat, and Armand.

@rainbowcarousels just reminded me of when Lestat says the name 'Nicolas' to Louis for the first time that he can remember, in the 200 years that they've loved each other:

Ah, if only I could reach back over the centuries and bring the light of this ballroom into the world I had once shared with someone else....

"What's the matter?" he [Louis] said to me suddenly.

"I saw something, something in your eyes."

"Just thought of a boy I once loved a long time ago."

I could not recall ever having spoken of Nicolas to Louis, never ever even mentioning Nicolas's name. But then I do not remember everything, as I once thought I did.

There is something in us, even us, that will not allow for that, something that pushes the memory of suffering that is unbearable slowly away.

There must surely have been twice as many blood drinkers now in this ballroom as there had ever been, and I sensed that I had ought to stop having such a marvelous time and return to greeting newcomers as the Prince should. To me, the later trilogy — maybe due in part to being more action-based and primarily set in the present? — largely lacks the depth and emotional resonance of the earlier books, but they do feature some of my favorite moments in the Chronicles as well.

And this is one of those scenes that stands out as being the final step in the process of grieving a loved one. The place where given enough support, security, and time, we can perhaps settle into and we can talk about them as being someone we once knew and loved (Claudia is different in this context because that is a shared loss to Lestat and Louis).

Additionally, the lines 'we simply don't know what it means to be happy' and 'something that pushes the memory of suffering that is unbearable slowly away' are simple enough in the language used but devastatingly powerful in describing the feelings of brain fog and disassociation that can come with living day-to-day with clinical depression and PTSD (which can also be triggered by loss), and I don't know — I'm grateful to Anne for sharing the ups-and-down her life's journey through her work in a way that made both baby and adult me's world a little less isolating and confusing. Because she understood.

White VC fandom: Louis is an unreliable narrator, so that means he has to be lying about everything at all times and you cannot trust anything he says! Lestat is the REAL victim!

What unreliable narrator actually means: When a character's perceptions which are shaped by their feelings and experiences shape and frame the narrative they are presenting. The audience is seeing things from the author or speaker's eyes, which means we are seeing it the way they do or as their memory serves them. Literally, ANYONE can be an unreliable narrator because one individual's truth is different from another individual's truth. LESTAT is also an unreliable narrator because his perceptions the story are likely going to be different from Louis' because they are DIFFERENT people with different experiences that shape their feelings and views of the world and people around them. That doesn't mean either of them are being purposefully deceitful.

ANYTHING can affect a person's perceptions too. Being drunk can affect a person's recollection of an event. Their memory is obviously going to be different than the sober person's.

Nick Carraway from The Great Gatsby, for example, is an unreliable narrator who indulges in Gatsby's parties, enjoys alcohol, and fools around with Jordan, yet judges Tom for having an affair with Myrtle yet doesn't call him out on it--and helps Daisy have an affair with Gatsby. He is an unreliable narrator because he is a hypocrite with a superiority complex. That doesn't mean that Tom isn't a racist, misogynist, abusive ass lol. That doesn't mean we should just assume he is lying about everything. Doing a little historical digging let's you know that the way Nick describes Tom's treatment of Daisy and Myrtle lines up with what was normal in the 1920s. If you all BOTHERED to care, you would do your research and see that a lot of what Louis shares about racism in the American south of the time period LINES up with the HISTORY of that part of the US. But you all don't care about that because you get mad at us discussing the racism which is one of the shows central themes.

An unreliable narrator can be a liar, but not all unreliable narrators ARE liars. You all just see the word "unreliable" and cannot fathom that it means anything but dishonesty which tells me you need to expand your vocabularies and read more books besides the VC lol.

Quick question here—Did Anne Rice explain her fascination with David Talbot? Respectfully, most of his sentiments should be spoken by Louis imho. Re-reading the VC during our downtime from the show, I had not realized how David Talbots is Louis-light. Hopefully Rolin will give Louis those lines and scenes that should have been his all along.

She wanted another partner for Lestat.

I mean, I get it from her POV - Louis is the grieving stand-in for herself, which she quite deliberately! one can argue - left behind. Had to leave behind.

Lestat became her stand-in from book two on, and she... wanted him to have a mature relationship. Cue: David Talbot.

We have to thank the Facebook fans btw for pushing for Louis again and again (that I know^^), but her treatment of Louis has to be considered with context.

I do think Rolin will give most of David's ... parts to Louis, or at least I hope so. It would make sense to keep him as the general of the Talamasca, and give his story parts to Louis and Daniel respectively... more sense than coming up with something entirely new for Louis, imho.

But we'll see.

In any case the show has been very firm with their statements on Loustat. I would not worry too much, tbh. :)

What do you think Raglan James' plans of doing since he made contact with Daniel? He didn't only talk to him in that sushi clip, but apparently he brought him with him somewhere (That clip where Raglan says "The great conversion is real")

I know that there's the whole body thief going around, but wouldn't that have to do with David and Lestat? Do you think they're going to bodyswap Daniel with that young (indian? i don't remember well ahah) boy, taking David's place? Because why else would he be talking to him

So okay, I gave a lot of my thoughts about Raglan James in this post. I don't think David is going to be on the show. I think part of his character has been worked into Daniel's story, and David's character has been cut.

Now, that said, I'm actually not sure if Daniel is going to get the Body Thief plotline . . . or, I guess I should say, I don't think the story from the book is going to happen one-to-one in the show. Because I don't think Raglan James is going to steal a younger body before he makes the offer to Lestat to switch. And that is why the character is being played by Justin Kirk. Because, in some later season, Kirk is going to be playing Lestat.

Because, as I noted in the link above, I do not think this show is going to have a bunch of white men swapping around the body of a young man of color. Plus, Rolin Jones has already talked about how tricky body-switching plots can be. The book version of the story had three people swapping around. Right now, I think they are going to streamline things down to just two people -- James and Lestat.

Okay so, as to the preview for ep 2x03, well. I think what happened with Daniel toward the end of 2x02 is setting the stage for Daniel to contact or make contact with the Talamasca. I don't know if the Talamasca made contact with him before Daniel came to Dubai or will do so while Daniel is there already. But I think Raglan James will make some type of promise or deal with Daniel to make sure he'll leave Dubai unharmed or something if he gets info for them, particularly about the Great Conversion thing.

However -- I also wouldn't be surprised if Raglan James has already been kicked out of the Talamasca at this point, and is just acting on his own.

Anyway, I think the show is about to set up a 3-ep mini-arc in that people will wonder if Daniel is "betraying" Louis and Armand in some way, or if Louis and/or Armand really are going to kill Daniel or something and that the Talamasca really are trying to help Daniel or something.

And then, I think something that is revealed in Episode 2x05 will have Daniel feeling different about things again. And, if he's made some kind of deal with Raglan James, (thinking it was a deal made with the whole Talamasca), Daniel will back out of it either at the end of Episode 2x05 or the opening of Episode 2x06.

So yeah, I think Raglan James is here for a little mini-arc and will try and use Daniel to get info about the "Great Conversion" -- either for the Talamasca or just for himself and whatever plans he might have about it.

Now, as for if I think Daniel will get swapped into another body at all? Yes, I do think he will. But I don't think they'll have a new actor cast in the part of Daniel when they do it because . . . the show already has two actors playing that part. And there are other ways characters in the VC series have obtained a new body beyond just switching with another person.

But I don't think such a plotline is going to happen any time soon. This is something I really don't expect to see until just right before the Great Conversion storyline is about to kick into gear which, IMO, won't really begin until around Season 4 or the beginning of Season 5.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I think instead of reading the last 3 VC books, you should have dropped the series. You would have saved yourself a lot of pain. I don’t think even half the things all the vampires have forgiven one another for are forgivable, but forgiveness has been given, and that’s their choice. Besides…. If I don’t like fish and I eat tuna casserole… well. I’m sorry to tell you this, but Louis was never going anywhere, and even though he’s a selfish bitch, he does love Lestat. Louis is the person Lestat can never let go of, and no matter how toxic it is, they have a love. Louis literally tried to kill himself because he couldn’t bear the thought of living without Lestat. If you can’t handle that fact, you should drop out. I actually think David is a dick, but if Lestat loves him, and Louis respects him, then I’ll accept it. Louis is a main character, like Marius and Armand. That was never going to change. It came close, but Anne quickly decided to accept Louis’ survival. If you can’t accept things you can’t change, you need to find some things you can. You’ll be much happier for it.

On the subject of the ghost writer... normally I'm the sort of person who likes to think that anyone should be allowed to write anything, as long as they put some care into what they're depicting if it's not their lived experience... but is it wrong that it creeps me out that this guy has spent almost 40 years writing stories about the abuse and suffering of girls and women while hiding behind the name of a dead woman?

Surely more people would get this ick from this if he was doing it under his own name and not pretending that all of this was planned by VCA in advance? (Also I get that she managed to write a lot in a short time, but I honestly don't believe that half of what he's written in her name was actually what she planned or wanted.) I don't know, I hate fact that most people don't know a lot of the VCA books are ghost written. My first introduction to VCA as a teen was the Orphan mini-series and I didn't find out that they were ghost written until the last book came out. And, compared to the prose in FitA the Orphan series is such trash. Sorry, I think I went on a wild tangent... I just get annoyed about the ghost writer...

I think to begin with, a man pretending to be disable woman in order to sell books at all is inappropriate. I mean didnt an author get in trouble for that recently? Like he purposefully chose a feminine/ambiguous penname and let people believe he was a woman in order to market his books better to women? Was is riley sager?

But as you’ve said, YEAH it creeps me out the way he writes these books because unlike vca he seems to delight in the torment of these young female characters. His violence against them seems gratuitous and for shock value. There’s no empathy in it! And these are the MAIN characters whom the reader is meant to project onto. Like why do his books feel… dirty? Vca’s books felt melancholy and somber, you could tell she was writing from a place of understanding, fear and grief. Because her writing was REAL. The ghostwriter writes like he has a checklist he fills out called the “VC Andrews formula” lol

And i say this a lot but i feel the need to reiterate that i have no interest in attack this man’s character beyond his work, i dont know him or who he is outside of a writer. His family seems to love him and hes been with his wife a long time… though i will say in an interviewed they revealed he was a high school teacher and she was student at his school when they started dating 🥴 that gave me a bit or a surprise lol but it was a different time i guess

But on the topic of VCA’s unfinished books: that was all a lie. She never had any unfinished manuscripts lying around in which the ghostwriter finished. Even Garden of Shadows was entirely written by the GW. The publisher only pushed out that lie to make it easier to sell the knockoff books. And i DO like some of them, like the Landry and Cutler series. But VCA didnt have a hand in them at all. Most people still don’t know this because the publisher would prefer people just keep believing she had a closet full of 500 books they just keep pulling from lol

It bugs me too, i wish the publisher would be more honest, like at least stop putting “from the author of flowers in the attic” on ghostwritten books. Its deceptive and scummy. Thats why i try to spread the word, though i know i sound like a broken record. I just think this incredible woman, vca, deserved better.
