“Woah. Guess I had more to drink than I thought.”

The Gryffindor common room. An ever changing space for all Gryffindor students to unwind, study, or party, depending on the occasion. The common room was always crowded from wall to wall after a Quidditch match, especially when Gryffindor reigned victorious. The players all filed in, bursting with good energy and an itch to celebrate their win. Oliver Wood exploded inside first with an unmistakably beaming smile spreading across his face.

The Gryffindor students who hadn’t been able to make it to watch the match automatically knew that they had won based on Oliver’s visible jubilant mood. You were one of the unfortunate ones that hadn’t been able to make it, but you knew that the team would bring the party to you. The Weasley twins came bopping in next, George carrying a very happy Harry Potter on his shoulders. Harry leapt off of George’s shoulders before the tall twin could knock him into the top of the doorframe.

Your sights automatically set on the other Weasley twin. Fred was beaming with delight at their impressive win. Fred was damn proud to be a Gryffindor, and beating the brakes off of Slytherin was one of his favorite pastimes. He couldn’t be any happier at this moment. It warmed your heart to see him so joyful and full of glee.

You raked over his tall, slender yet muscular frame. His signature red hair was damp with sweat and parts of his face were caked with dirt.

Fred caught your stare, his smile never leaving his face as he gave you a friendly wink. You closed the Potions book in your lap, getting up from the sofa with a silent hope that your thumping heartbeat wasn’t obvious to anyone.

It was a hard thing to do. Keeping your ever growing crush and admiration for Fred Weasley under wraps was becoming more and more difficult as time went on. The seemingly simple solution (as all of your friends had told you) to do would be to “just tell him” how you felt. But it was MUCH easier said than done.

There were so many things that could possibly go wrong if you were to confess your feelings to Fred. You would be running the risk of ruining a beautiful friendship that had done nothing but blossom over the last seven years if he didn’t share that same admiration. You didn’t want to lose your best friend just because your heart felt differently than his.

At the same time, you wanted to tell him every scrap and ounce of how your soul felt lost without him. There had been a few times over the years where you had an opportunity to lay your heart out on the line for him. Each time you had this heavy feeling in your chest letting you know you needed to make a move.

You built up the courage each time, but were interrupted by George or another one of your friends before you could bite the bullet. You knew it wasn’t healthy to keep this holed away in yourself. Your love would only grow more. The more days that passed, the more you began to wonder how different your life would be if you never told him. Not to mention that graduation was only a few months away, and there was always the risk of losing contact with him when you went separate ways.

That is, IF you were to go separate ways.

On the other side of the coin, there was always a chance that Fred possibly did harbor the same admiration for you. That would totally change things in the long run. The idea of starting a romantic relationship, possibly getting married, and having a family was nothing short of perfect.

But you had to get to that point first.

Everyone rallied around Harry, shaking him excitedly and singing their praises to him for his incredible Snitch catch. Suddenly, blaring and thunderous chatter filled the common room as more exhilarated students piled in. Within the hour, a sea of Gryffindors occupied the room, complete with blasting music and an ungodly amount of alcohol.

Oliver had gathered a crowd of first years in one corner of the common room as he retold every solitary second of the match from his point of view, starting from the very beginning. The wide eyed first year wizards and witches were on the edge of their seats as they listened to his story, some of them beginning to wonder if they had what it took to be great Quidditch players.

On the other side of the room, you were settled once again on the sofa with Alicia Spinnet and Katie Bell, who were seated in the arm chairs across from you. They were exhausted from playing all day, but that didn’t stop them from engaging in some girl talk.

Alicia and Katie were your dearest friends, and they were the only ones who knew about your crush on Fred. A crush that had quite honestly evolved into something much more. They were always keeping an ear out to see if Fred said anything remotely leading them to believe that he might like you back. As surprising as it was, Fred never really outwardly spoke about his romantic side.

Speaking of, Fred and George were in another corner of the room with Harry and Ron, doing God only knows what. Fred was considerably tipsy, but nothing even close to plastered. You had seen Fred drunk before, and needless to say, it was a hysterical sight.

“So, [Y/N],” Alicia spoke up, her dark skin looking extra glowy from the fire roaring in the fireplace; “Fred was awfully excited to come back to tell you that we won.”

Katie perked up, her head lifting from where it had been leaning on the back of the chair.

“Yeah! The first thing that he told George was that he couldn’t wait to tell you the news. Although, I guess Oliver kind of told everyone before Fred had the chance.”

“Really? He said that?” You asked, sitting up a little straighter.

Alicia nodded vigorously, gripping Katie’s forearm with elation. Alicia and Katie had never tried to set the two of you up, mainly because you had begged them not to. That didn’t stop them from trying to be the ultimate wingwomen. They believed that you and Fred would be a stellar couple. They were convinced you were made for one another.

They both feared that you’d never make an attempt to make it happen.

“He sure did. I heard him myself.” Katie replied.

Alicia glanced over her shoulder to make sure no one was listening before leaning forward closer to you. Her voice was quiet, loud enough so only you and Katie could hear as she spoke.

“Graduation is coming up quickly. You’ve got to tell him.” She advised.

You sighed heavily. If you had a galleon for every time one of them had told you that, you’d be a wealthy woman. They just didn’t seem to get that it just isn’t that easy. You wouldn’t deny that proclaiming your deepest secret to someone didn’t scare you. It was terrifying to offer your heart and soul to someone, even when you knew that they might get broken as a result. You didn’t want to live with a broken heart.

But you didn’t want to live always asking yourself “what if”.

Before you could respond, a figure plopped themself next to you, his familiar scent sending flutters all through you. Fred basically snuggled up next to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulder. Despite the fact that you weren’t dating, Fred was comfortable enough with you to get extremely close, which didn’t help your situation at all.

Alicia and Katie held down their snickers and giggles at how you were clearly flustered. You tried not to wriggle too much under Fred’s hold, and draw any attention to yourself. He was your best friend, and you knew how to play it cool when he was around.

“Hi, [Y/N].” Fred slurred loudly over the noise.

You laughed softly at the smell of Firewhiskey that was radiating off of him. You weren’t much of a drinker, but you’d have a drink with Fred from time to time.

“Hey, Fred. Congratulations on the match.” You complimented.

Fred grinned proudly, looking down at your slumped body. His eyes were beginning to glaze over from the alcohol, but he looked as sober as ever. He had a certain look in his eyes that you couldn’t identify.

“Thanks. Those bloody Slytherins got what they deserved.” He stated.

“Oliver seems over the moon with how it went.” You remarked, smiling as you looked behind you to see Oliver now standing on a table as he continued telling his thrilling tale.

When you turned back to Fred, you couldn’t help but notice how Fred hadn’t taken his eyes off of you. The butterflies in your belly were going totally bananas now. His gaze did eventually shift to the Potions book that was placed next to your feet, and he let out a guttural sound. He reached for it, noting that it had obviously been put to good use in the last several hours.

“Have you been studying?” He questioned, holding the book in his hand.

You sheepishly nodded, aimlessly reaching for the textbook. An offended look crossed Fred’s face as he held the book far out of your reach. Damn his long arms.

“I have a test on Monday. Advanced Potions is kicking my ass this year and I’ve just barely been getting by so I have to study extra time.” You expressed, laughing at your fruitless attempt to get the book back.

His sharp jaw fell open a tad and he stretched back even further to ensure you didn’t get the book back for now.

“You’re kidding me. I missed my favorite girl at the match because she was stuck in the common room studying for a TEST?” He acquired, not even aware of the weight behind his choice of words.

You felt your smile fade into more of a bashful expression. Your body slinked back into the cushions, forgetting all about the book. His words rang in your word.

Favorite girl.

Fred Weasley’s favorite girl.

Alicia and Katie were both wide eyed and jaw dropped at what he had just said. They were looking back and forth between the two of you like they were at an intense tennis match.

Fred was so aloof and oblivious to the fact that he had literally just melted your heart with a single sentence. You spent so much time with Fred that you just didn’t understand how he couldn’t see it.

Fred knew you backwards and forwards. He could see straight through you when you were lying or when you were sad, but claiming you were fine. He always remembered your favorite treats from Honeydukes and how you liked hot Butterbeer on cold winter nights. It made him happy to hear you talk about your favorite Muggle novels or tell him about something funny that happened in McGonagall’s class. He knew you better than anyone.

But why couldn’t he see the way you were yearning for him?

“You missed me?” You asked, shrinking even further into the cushions.

Fred looked at you as if that were the dumbest question he had ever been graced with. He lowered his arm at your sudden demeanor change, gently putting the book in your hand. Alicia and Katie leaned in carefully, eager to see where this conversation was going. Much to their disappointment, Fred didn’t get a chance to answer due to another member joining you on the couch.

George landed less gracefully than Fred had, basically landing on top of you and smothering you. Your shrieks were muffled in George’s Quidditch robes, Fred wrestling his brother off of you.

“Hey! George, get off of her.” He grunted, heaving his brother’s very limp body off of you.

Alicia threw her hands up in defeat at the interruption, Katie falling back into her chair. So close, yet so far. You gasped for air as George fell on the open seat next to Fred. George was way further gone than Fred. He was barely even able to keep his eyes open, let alone get any real, complete thought across.

“Nice timing, George.” Katie said sarcastically.

You gave her a menacing look, not wanting her to bring it up. George snorted, and his sentence came out more as one incoherent word.

“Did I interrupt something important?” He heavily slurred between hiccups.

You rolled your eyes. Leave it to George to ruin this for you. You were discouraged that your chance had been shot down once again, but it wasn’t George’s fault. You were just glad to see your friends in such high spirits. Soon enough, the rest of the party goers had crowded towards the center of the room where you were. The party raged on well into the night, a complete celebration with dancing, singing, and more drinking.

As easily as the party could’ve carried on and on, eventually the famed players’ exhaustion caught up with them and they all slowly dwindled down and sauntered off to their respective dorm rooms. You hugged Alicia and Katie goodnight, knowing they’d be passed out in their beds by the time you got up to your dorm room.

You spoke to Harry and Ron for a bit, giving Harry a friendly kiss on the top of his head for his winning catch. His pasty white cheeks went red as he and Ron retreated to their room in a fit of blushy giggles. That left just you and the twins in the common room that was now completely trashed. Empty cups and half spilled bottles of alcohol were scattered about, people even leaving behind some of their school stuff to be recollected in the morning.

George was a mumbling, intoxicated mess. He was close to falling asleep, and Fred wanted to get him to bed before he was completely unable to stand up. You’d be up for a while cleaning up the common room. You always hated leaving a room knowing it was messy, so you didn’t mind picking up after everyone. Fred knew you’d stay behind to clean up, but he didn’t want you to have to do it alone. He draped his babbling twin over his shoulders, grimacing at how George was usually heavier when he was drunk.

“I’m going to run George upstairs and then I’ll be back to lend you a hand.” He smiled, ignoring the things that George was trying to say to him.

“You don’t have to. I can handle it.” You said, tossing a handful of cups away.

“I know you can. I just don’t want you to be lonely is all.” He said, turning on his heel and marching up the boys’ dormitory stairs with George.

You felt a warm flush course through you at his words once more. You weren’t sure why you were extra sensitive to him tonight. Sure enough, Fred returned a few minutes later, almost stumbling into the wall at the bottom of the stairs. You both laughed as he gave a witty comment.

“Woah. Guess I had more to drink than I thought.” He said, walking into the room once he steadied himself.

“Is George okay?” You asked, accepting the pile of empty bottles that Fred placed into your trash bag.

You usually hand cleaned for the first few minutes, but would eventually grow bored and cast a spell from your wand to finish the work. It was seldom that the common room was this quiet, so you liked to bask in the silence for a little after there was a party.

Fred scoffed with a nod.

“Oh, yeah. He’ll be fine. Nasty hangover in the morning, but there’s a potion for that.”

As usual, the two of you were tired of cleaning, so you waved your wand with a quick cleaning charm. You both watched in amazement as the trash and everything else whisked around the room into trash bins, leaving the room spotless. You put your wand in your back pocket with a satisfied hum. Usually, this would be the time where you went to bed, but you were getting that familiar heavy feeling in your chest.

It immediately dawned on you that you had a perfect chance here. No one was around, and no one would be around for more than enough time.

“You want to sit and chat for a bit?” Fred questioned, noticing your dazed look; “You seem like you’ve got something on your mind.”

The fireplace was still occupied with a cozy warm fire, which was very inviting. You nodded, following Fred to the same couch you had been on earlier. The common room was beyond peaceful now, your head almost lulling onto Fred’s shoulder in relaxation.

Oddly enough, you weren’t freaked out now. In all the past times you had tried to do this, you were a jittery mess and could barely get a word out without stuttering. You felt so at ease now, as if this was something you did often. You hadn’t even had a drop of alcohol tonight, so you couldn’t blame it on that.

“So what’s up?” Fred questioned after you didn’t initiate a conversation.

He had unknowingly opened a door that you knew you had to take. It was now or never.

“I’m just thinking about some things.” You admitted.

Fred’s curiosity was sparked now. He was always interested and willing to hear what was going on in your mind.

“What kind of things?” He pressed on.

Your sights were set on the flames in front of you, causing you to miss the way that Fred was looking at you with such fondness and care. He was cherishing every passing second of this moment.

“You and me.” You confessed.

Fred was filling with anticipation, not sure where you were going with this. He raised a brow.

“What about us?” He replied.

You took a breath.

“Fred, what did you mean when you said I was your favorite girl?” You queried.

Fred looked into your eyes that were peering up at him in a puppy-like way. He noticed that you were expecting an answer. Fred, as confident as ever, responded with a voice like butter, his accent a little thicker.

“Because you’re my favorite person in the world.” He revealed.

Your heart caught in your throat and your breathing hitched. So far so good.

“I am?” You asked to confirm

Fred’s arm that was around you pulled you in closer. You were being flooded with such a sense of intimacy that it was overwhelming. Your nose was level with his chin, and you were so close to his face that you swore you could hear the blood flowing through his face. Fred knew what was happening now, and he was ecstatic about it. He had wanted you all along, but never knew how’d you’d react. The last thing he ever wanted to do was scare you off.

He thought about all the times he had seen you upset, and how it hurt him when you were pained with something. He always wished for nothing but happiness for you. He didn’t want to ruin things because of how he felt.

But now he was sure that you’d be here to stay.

“Absolutely you are. You’re all I ever think about.” He whispered, stroking your face with the side of his thumb that was wrapped around you.

This didn’t feel real, but felt all too real at the same time.

“Why are you whispering?” You smiled softly, whispering back to him.

He smirked, and whispered again.

“Because I want you to know how much I love you.”

A cannon of confetti seemingly exploded all throughout your body. Shock, desire, lust, love, want, everything went through you all at once. This wasn’t at all how you had imagined this happening, but you were happy that it did. It was very fitting for the two of you.

“Kiss me.” You whispered once more.

He lowered his head and his lips caught yours in a feverish way. All the pent up feelings from the last 6 years all loaded themselves into the kiss. It was a huge weight off of your shoulders.

“I love you,” You professed once Fred pulled away; “You don’t know how long I’ve waited to tell you that.”

Fred chuckled lightly, responding before kissing you again.

“I think I have a pretty good idea.”

Their daughter -Part 1

After the Volturi left and Reneesme was physically all grown up, Emmett could see the yearning to take care of another child in his wife. And honestly he missed having little feet running around, and the little hands gripping his hair as he gave countless piggy back rides.

He did some research before taking his wife on a trip to a small island not found on most maps. "Emmett where are we." "I read about this healer, she's supposed to be able to help anyone have a kid."

Rosalie can only stare at her husband in shock, he brought her all the way here so they could have a child of their own. But would that be a problem for them? If they succeed, will their child be somewhat normal? Or grow like Reneesme?

The couple is led into a small hut of a very remote village, they're met by a young woman who's eyes are completely glazed over, you could practically see the universe in her eyes.

"The spirits tell me you've been looking for me. They say you have a particular request." Emmett steps forward about to answer but she quickly stops him, "I can help you. Your request is simple. The ability to carry a child is something every woman should be able to experience no matter what their kind is. A child is something every wedded couple should be able to experience. But in return I must ask for a favor. Not for me, but for this village."

They watch as a young child leads the blind woman around the room, until she's stopped in front of them. She quickly ushers the child out of the room before looking straight ahead, "These people know of many creatures. They come and go, seeking my help. Many dont receive. But what I ask is simple. If I help you conceive your child." They watch the woman smile, "She'd be as beautiful as her mother, with her father's dark hair and soft curls. Small and spoiled, but grateful for everything in her life. But to ensure she stays healthy, the three of you would be asked to stay in the village for three months after shes born, theres a small hut that would be provided for you. All I ask in return is your protection for the time you're here. To help the people of this small village with tasks they may not be able to complete on their own."

Rosalie grips onto Emmett's arm, hope in her eyes. "You know what she'll look like?" "I know a lot of things. Despite not having my vision, I can do many great things. And that tone in your voice is telling me the two of you are agreeing to my terms." Emmett speaks up, "Your terms are very considerate, despite what we're asking of you. Our answer is yes." "Although simple, what I ask, many others wouldn't even think about doing. I believe only the greatest gifts should be given to those willing to do the simplest acts of generosity. I can sense that the two of you would give your entire fortune for what I've already given you."

They look at each other in shock as the woman turns and walks away, "You mean-" "That you're already pregnant? Yes. As soon as you walked in, I already knew the two of you would agree. This won't be a normal pregnancy. By the time the sun sets you'll be able to hear your baby's heartbeat. In four days you'll give birth. I am aware of the hybrid in your family. Your daughter will also be a hybrid. As a thank you I'm giving your child some humanity. She will have the same vampire abilities, but she'll grow at the same rate as a human, when she turns 21 she'll stop and will become a full vampire. At 21 she'll still be able to eat, and sleep. She just won't need animal blood as often as the two of you do, maybe once a month from a small rabbit at most."

Emmett quickly takes Rosalie into his arms, no price would be big enough for what they've just been told. The woman gestures for the threshold, "The hut is on the outskirts of the village, near the creek, go and enjoy your news. I'll be over tomorrow morning with a small task to get you acquainted to the town."

The two leave, easily finding their home for the next three or so months. They sit on the makeshift bench on the porch, listening to the water in the creek, the kids playing and splashing. Suddenly Emmett freezes, "Can you hear it?" Rosalie looks at him with the biggest smile and venom filled eyes that will never spill, "She's already perfect."

The two spend the whole night watching her stomach grow and listening to their child's heartbeat. By the time morning comes they've already decided on a name for her. They look up when the healer enters, "You can feel the happiness all throughout the village. Here I brought something. Your child still need nutrients, since you cant eat regular food without your venom instantly destroying it, I have this. Drink it twice a day, and your child will gain all the nutrients they need."

The next three days go by quickly. Rosalie is asked to watch the children, to help teach them while their fathers fish and their mothers farm. Emmett helps rebuild some structures around the village, his vampire speed helping him rebuild everything.

The last night of the pregnancy Emmett helps Rosalie waddle to the healers hut. A few hours later Rosalie has pushed out their beautiful baby girl. And just like the healer said, she looks exactly like her mother, but has her father's dark hair.

What surprises them is when she opens her eyes and see bright blue eyes just like Emmett's human eyes. They both melt when she smiles and laughs, showing off the dimples she inherited from her dad who is already wrapped around her finger. They watch as the child falls asleep holding onto a piece of her mother's hair.

"I sense you've adjusted quite well already. What have you named her?" "Y/N" "Beautiful name for a beautiful face. The villagers have left a gift in your hut as a thank you for all the help you've been to them. And this will act as formula for the child. There's enough for six months, after that she should be able to start on regular milk. When shes old enough to start talking and walking, that's when her vampire abilities will start, right now you can't crush her, that's the vampire in her protecting her. Even though she will physically age like a regular human, she'll considered smarter, her vampiric abilities will help her learn to do things faster. She'll sit up on her own sooner, try to crawl sooner. She'll accelerate in school."

Everyday they watch as their child grows until the day comes for them to take their child home. They watch as her personality grows, and they fall more in love with her everyday.

They say bye to everyone in the village, promising to visit someday in the future. They stop in a nearby town, grabbing stuff they'd need, like a carseat, some clothes, a diaper bag, random stuff for the flight home.

Rosalie watches as her daughter falls asleep on her dads chest during the long flight home. The only thing going through her head, she'll get to watch her child grow for twenty one years.

During the drive home Rosalie constantly looks into the backseat, where her daughter happily watches the trees pass by the window, every once in a while she'll let out a babble. "Do you think Alice can see her?" "Looks like we're going to find out."

As they stop in front of the house they can see their family standing outside, "You guys are back!" Rosalie let's Esme pull her into a hug. "What is that sound?" Rosalie pulls back with a smile, "We want you to meet someone."

They turn to Emmett who's now holding the car seat. Esme gasps before moving forward, getting a good look at the now sleeping baby. "Where'd you find her?" Emmett and Rosalie look at each other, "How about we go inside."

They explain everything about Y/N, how she was carried, how she'll grow, her appetite, her seemingly human ways, and how shes theirs.

Esme quickly congratulates the two, knowing just how much her daughter has always wanted a child of her own. Everyone stops when they start to hear movement in the carseat before a soft yawn is heard. Rosalie moves with a smile before taking her daughter into her arms. She turns so Y/N can see her new surroundings. Esme immediately gushing, "Her eyes." Emmett nods, "Same as mine before I changed."

Upon seeing the attention is on her, Y/N immediately smiles and looks up at her mom who happily smiles, "This is your family Y/N." The small child let's out a happy giggle before clapping her hands, everyone chuckling. When Y/Ns eyes land on her grandmother she immediately reaches for her with a big smile, her dimples popping. Edward laughs, "She already understands. Her mind, she cant speak but she understands that were all the same." Jasper jumps in, "Shes happy. Not overwhelmed, but curious."

Esme reaches for the babys hand, tiny fingers wrapping around one of hers, "May I?" Rosalie nods and hands over the small child, happy tears wanting to spill when she watches her daughter lay her head on Esmes chest. Edward speaking up, "She knows she's safe and welcome."

As everyone is sitting in the living room, getting to know the new addition of their family, watching her interact with her cousin. Emmett laughs looking at his brothers, "You want to see something?" Everyone looks at him confused making Rosalie chuckle knowing exactly what he wants to do. She explains, "She's already a huge daddy's girl, unfortunately. One of the kids in the village was playing with her and her toy fell. He wanted to wash it off before giving it back to her. She saw he wasn't going to give it back right away, and thought he was taking it away. She started crying and immediately reached for Emmett to go get it back."

Edward laughs and agrees to be the one to take the empty bottle that's still in his niece's hands. Everyone watches as he walks away, before Y/N immediately turns to her dad with tears in her eyes. When he doesn't move she let's her wails be heard and raises her arms. Everyone chuckles as he stands up and picks up the crying child, wiping her face, "What happened?" Unable to answer she just hits her dads chest making a chuckle leave his lips as she turns in the direction her uncle went and points. "Alright let's go get the bottle." Before they can fully leave the room Edward returns, Y/N immediately letting out another wail and pointing, stopping when she sees her uncle holding a new bottle.

When the child is finally asleep for the night, everyone watches, fascinated by the girl who already has their hearts, ready to protect her at any moment.

The following day was spent rather unproductively, Ringo hardly moved from his bed and refused to get dressed into anything decent. Paul and John had left early, they could easily tell when Ringo wanted to left alone, but they ensured that at least one of them would be available should Ringo need anything at all. Last night hardly felt tangible, but the grogginess of Ringo's mind and the overhanging sadness made it difficult to forget. He wasn't entirely sure what he felt so bummed out about: was it merely the pain he felt to see George with another man? Or was it the sheer humiliation Ringo had experienced, having to expose his feelings to George in such an unappealing way? Perhaps it was a mixture of both, but he was determined to only let it sully this single day for tomorrow held endless possibilities and he truly believed that the date with George would still go fairly well, even with all this tension now risen to the surface.

Sometimes it was nice to have days like this, comfortably lounging around in pyjamas with no real objectives in mind. Ringo channelled out any lasting aggression he was harbouring by blasting music on his speakers, just about loud enough to stop himself from thinking. He had more than several comfort films to watch, many of which starred his favourite actor Peter Sellers, to make the time fly by without much thought. Throughout the day he conversed sparsely with John and Paul, neither of them addressing the actual events of last night but their concerned tones were enough of an allusion.

He treated himself to some pizza for dinner, settling down in front of his television and letting the hours pass. These days of nothingness were necessary, especially with the amount of excitement he'd been unwillingly plagued with this past week. Part of him debated not even bothering to get into bed, just to gradually pass into unconsciousness on his sofa, but the mature section of his mind - one which was often ignored - convinced him to tuck himself into the covers and let sleep wash over him.

Ringo gladly slept well into the afternoon, the only thing getting him out of bed was his growling stomach. Reaching for his phone he swiped away a variety of meaningless notifications then paused when he noticed a text from George. His mixed feelings were considerably less tangled than they had been previously, but there was still a hint of dread in his stomach when he thought about him.

Look outside your door.

It was sent a couple of hours ago, Ringo worried he'd missed whatever surprise had been waiting for him. He didn't appreciate the cryptic tone, nonetheless he padded over to the front of his flat and cautiously opened the door. Sitting before him was a vase sporting a diverse bouquet of flowers, Ringo wasn't even sure he could name half of them. He looked at it for a while, registering how to fit this in with his torn attitude towards George, and noticed a small card perked upon one of the leaves; he picked it up and inspected it closely.

First of many treats I have planned for tonight. I hope your hangover isn't too bad and you aren't regretting giving me another chance.

Ringo found himself smiling, he must have looked rather odd standing in nothing but his boxers and socks clutching onto this card for longer than he needed to. The thought of one of his neighbours seeing him in this precarious situation spurred him to take the vase inside and shut the door behind him, he inhaled the fresh smell deeply as he brought them into the kitchen to find an adequate placement. He couldn't deny how beautiful they looked, as much as his pessimism wanted to convince him that this was merely a disingenuous ploy. It was difficult to hold onto the resentment, Ringo found himself leaning more towards the attitude that it was merely an extremely unfortunate situation and that George had never intended on hurting him. What use was there in holding onto the past?

Drinking his morning cup of tea, Ringo stared at the flowers before he realised he should probably respond to George's text.

Ringo debated whether to send another text, he really wanted to clear the air completely but wondered whether it would be better to do it in person. The last thing he wanted was for the whole night to feel like George was having to make it up to him, rather than it being an enjoyable night for the both of them. He understood George's guilt completely, but it would no doubt make him feel rather ridiculous with the forced nature of it all. If only things could just go back to normal, was that too much to ask? He let out a sigh, drafting out a message and staring at it for a while.

i dont want this to come across as harsh or ungrateful or anything but could we leave out any conversation about last night?? i just want to have a good time and not think about that stupid stuff

Impulsively, Ringo sent it without much further thought. He knew it wasn't the most coherent or effective way of getting across his jumbled thought process but the last thing he needed was even more stress seeping into today.

Ringo felt relief washing over him, a grin spreading across his face as he continued to stare at the message from George. Perhaps tonight wouldn't be as stressful as he'd originally anticipated, he'd almost forgotten how at ease George was able to make him feel.

Now arrived the age old dilemma: what on Earth was he meant to wear? He probably should've asked how upscale the place was that George had picked out for them, he didn't want to risk dressing up too much and looking like a fool. Not that Ringo had a great array of formal clothes to choose from, he wasn't one to frequent snobbish establishments if he could help it. He emptied out almost his entire wardrobe, tossing clothes behind him into barely distinguishable piles like he was starring in a teen movie. It took far longer than necessary to narrow down his choices, eventually settling on a navy jumper and some dark trousers. Looking at himself in the mirror he realised there was no way this outfit reflected the amount of time he'd spent choosing it, but the last thing Ringo was about to do was spend more time agonising over something that no doubt didn't matter much at all.

His stomach started rumbling while he waited for George to arrive, he only hoped the food would be appealing. Ringo had a reputation for being a picky eater, not that he could necessarily help it with his endless list of allergies. He found himself worrying that wherever they went Ringo wouldn't be able to eat anything and it would spiral the entire date into disaster. Exactly where this paranoia came from he didn't know, he only hoped it would disappear as soon as he laid eyes on George.

When the long-awaited text finally arrived, Ringo grabbed his jacket and hurried down the stairs. If he didn't eat soon he felt like he was going to pass out, he knew that wasn't truly the case but he couldn't deny that it felt that way. George beamed at him through the glass window, Ringo reciprocated the grin without it feeling even the slightest bit forced. Everything felt normal, thank goodness.

"Don't you look dashing?" George spoke first, a playful tone in his voice.

"Why thank you." Ringo stepped out of the building "I wasn't quite sure what to wear, if I'm being honest."

George was sporting a dark green turtleneck, on top of which he wore a black chequered blazer with trousers to match. It was the most dressed up Ringo had ever seen him, and it was a pleasant sight to say the least.

"Well you look great." George reassured him "Now, I'm absolutely starving so let's get a move on."

They slid into George's car, Ringo felt a little strange to not be the one doing the driving. As they began pulling out onto the main road, Ringo felt his phone buzz in his pocket. Trying to be polite, he decided to ignore it, it was likely only Paul or John wishing him good luck on his date. Neither of them spoke much as they drove, they'd have plenty of time to talk once they got to the restaurant. George hummed to himself rather quietly, Ringo wasn't sure he was even aware he was doing it. After several minutes, George's hand gradually moved away from the steering wheel and onto Ringo's thigh; he never turned to look at him, his eyes fixed firmly on the road ahead. Experimentally he began rubbing his thumb on the fabric of Ringo's trousers, it was a sweet gesture that Ringo appreciated. Ringo gathered the courage to press it one step further, sliding his own hand underneath and interlocking their fingers together. Once again George didn't turn, but a small smile spread on his face. Ringo wasn't sure this was exactly the safest way to drive, but it helped relax his nerves a little.

Not too much time had passed before they'd arrived at their destination, a rather small building with a cosy looking interior. George turned the ignition off but neither of them made any further movements, sat firmly in their seats with their hands still clasped together. The muffled sound of the bustling city outside the car overpowered any potential awkward silence, Ringo was afraid to move lest he ruined the moment.

"You ready to go inside?" George asked, his voice far quieter than necessary, finally turning to face Ringo.

Ringo nodded, hopefully managing to hide his disappointment as George's hand slipped away. They both stepped outside of the car and made their way towards the restaurant, it was pretty packed but fortunately George had booked a table for the both of them. Anxiety began to creep into Ringo's mind as they were guided to their seats, he hadn't been on a proper date like this for so long, he felt like he'd forgotten how to make regular conversation. Yet sitting down across from George made all those worries disappear, all he needed was the smallest amount of eye contact and he felt safe once again.

"You like wine?" George asked, perusing the drinks menu.

"I can't lie, I'm not a fan." Ringo didn't want to risk sounding rude.

"How about a cocktail or something? Just don't look at the prices." George chuckled "Whatever you want, my treat."

"I'd love a Sex on the Beach, if you're offering." Ringo said rather sheepishly.

"Last time I checked Liverpool didn't have any beaches." George feigned a quizzical expression "I think I'll have one too."

The drinks didn't take too long to arrive, Ringo felt relieved to get some alcohol in his body to help him relax. Although he was determined to not get too drunk tonight, it was about time he experienced George's company sober. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, rather homely, far less intimidating than the grand vision Ringo had conjured during one of his bouts of paranoia.

Everything just felt right, there was nowhere else he'd rather be or anyone else he'd rather be with. The gleam in George's eyes and the faint smile always barely hidden on his lips let Ringo know that he was feeling the exact same way.

Suspicious Nature Part 3

Dean nodded and followed the Omega, into the small room. He eyes kept on Castiel to ensure he didn’t wake up. “Gabriel is it? Will you do your King a favour and tell me where the Knight Commander’s private quarters are?” Dean asked, looking down upon the small Omega, who barely came up to his chest.

Gabriel shut the door behind them quickly, peering through the key hole to ensure the Alpha that had chased him continued on, chuckling to himself. It wasnt until Dean spoke that Gabriel's attention shifted, eyeing both him and Cas. "Honestly I rather do Cassie, here the solid and avoid you going anywhere near his rooms." The Omega replied, no hint of the usual groveling respect that commoners showed the King. "He told me all about you, ya know. Really screwed the pooch on that one, didnt ya Deano." Gabriel commented moving forward to obviously check that his friend was alright.

“Frankly, I don’t care about want you would rather do.” Dean stated. “What I do care about is how a common Omega managed to get into the private area, reserved for soldiers. You aren’t you, clearly. And even if you had managed to slip past all other officials, you contract is terminated immediately. So, take me to the Knight Commander’s room, or I will ensure you live to regret it.” Dean stated, keeping the sleeping Omega in his arms.

Gabriel's brow arched at that though he didnt seem angry or annoyed. "What, like throwing me in prison? From what Cassie told me you've already threatened that once. Besides I dont have a contract to terminate. I'm an Omega the only thing I'm allowed to do in this boring place is laundry and cooking. I'll pass thanks." He pointed out before giving a scoff. "Typical Alpha," He grumbled under his breath as he moved to poke his head out the door and glanced down the hall to make sure no one would see them. "Always throwing weight around... making threats." He huffed to himself before pushing open the door. "Well, come on then." He instructed the King. "I may not be afraid of you but if Cas finds out I did help I'll never hear the end of it."

“First you did break the law. You /should/ be in jail. And it’s not like I don’t have much weight to throw around. I am King. And you have no idea what we’re discussed or planning on doing today, Omega, so if I were you I would keep your trap shut on issues you don’t fully understand.” Dean stated. He walked past Gabriel and through the door, without looking at him.

Gabriel followed after without a moment's hesitation. "First off, I have a name and it's not Omega!" He snapped. "Secondly I havent broken any law that you can prove besides not groveling at you! I live here with Cas." He countered as they entered the small office before hurrying over to produce a key and unlocking the Knight Commander's quarters. The man in question, shifted as Gabriel's voice rose, curling into Dean a bit more allowing a small grumble to escape him.

“If you live with Castiel then there is proof you know his secret. You even admitted to talking about the consequences, /Omega/.” Dean said calmly. He looked down at Castiel in his arms As he moved and raised and eyebrow at the Omega. “I don’t he’s liking your tone of voice.” He stated simply.

Gabriel considered that a moment as pushed open the door, Castiel's heavy scent engulfing them as they entered. "You got me there Deano." He shrugged. "But how do you know Cassie just doesnt like /your/ tone?" He argued childishly moving to pull back the covers on the bed. "Let's just make one thing clear... King or not... you hurt my brother and I'll make you wish you were dead." He warned giving a feral warning growl which was a bit strange coming from such a small omega.

“I know it’s you, Omega, but you were talking when he flinched, you are the one arguing, whilst I am remaining calm, and he flinched towards me and away from you, not the other way around.” Dean explained calmly and softly. He laid the Commander down in his bed, both his and Castiel’s cloaks wrapped around him. “You can tell him whatever you wish, but I will have the guards sign that they didn’t see or hear me be malicious to either of you. The guards under his control.” Dean smiled.

Gabriel’s glare darkened. “I didn’t plan on claiming otherwise but I wasn’t talking about today.” Gabriel pointed out. “Sounds like you have a guilty conscious there Dean-o. Maybe you should get it in check.” The small man growled before kicking off his boots and making a show of him crawling into bed with the Omega. It was obvious he was trying to piss Dean off. A ‘Haha I can be in his bed but you can’t’ grin plastered on his face as he wrapped his arms around the larger Omega.

“I don’t have a guilty conscious, I just don’t trust you.” Dean stated softly. He left the room without another word and headed back to his office. To continue on with his workload.

“The feeling is mutual Asshole!” Gabriel called after him in a harsh whisper before getting a bit more comfortable in case the Alpha decided to come back. He really didn’t see why Cas was taken with the guy though it was obvious every time he spoke of him.

The next day, after not a lot of sleep, Dean sent a letter out to Castiel, asking for him to meet with him at the soonest available opportunity. He continued to work in his office, with a considerable less about of paperwork to get through than the day before. His mind kept reliving the past conversation with Gabriel, surely that hate and disrespect didn’t come from one night’s conversation with Castiel. Was it because he was an Alpha and Gabriel was an Omega, would that hate lessen, if he understood what legislation and laws he is wanting to put in place? Or was it another reason why Gabriel hated Dean.

Castiel slept late into the night, only waking when Gabriel brought in the usual over sized breakfast that Cas only picked at while the smaller Omega devoured the rest. A realization of what had transpired had the Knight Commander flushing with embarrassment, but he didn’t mention it to his brother or anyone else for that matter and as for Gabriel… He didn’t speak a word about the King, too curious to see how it would all pan out. So, Cas ate, washed and changed, still not donning the armor of the Knight Commander which would probably make the men worry but he supposed it was for the best. By the time the letter reached him, the Knight Commander was almost through his rounds. He dismissed his men and made a B line for the King’s office; this time, the Man in Waiting didn’t hesitate to push open the doors and announce his arrival.

“You wished to see me Sire?” Cas asked as he moved around the other man and into the room.

Dean nodded and looked up from the paperwork he was reading. “I thought we could find off that discussion we didn’t have yesterday.” He suggested, offering Castiel the seat he occupied yesterday. “I do hope your brother didn’t make up too many wildly incorrect stories about what happened whilst you slept.” Dean said softly as he dismissed the guard.

Castiel moved to the chair before pausing at the words, brows furrowing. “My brother?” He mumbled before realization his him and he tensed. “Gabriel…” He sighed. “I hadn’t realized the two of you met. However he acted… Whatever he said Sire… I assure you I will have a discussion with him. There is no need for any further worry. I will handle his punishment myself, I give you my word.” He rushed obviously worried that whatever the King planned was very severe and far too harsh.

“Oh no no. I believe that stopping him from annoying the other Alphas should do right.” Dean explained. “But I do have a question about him, if you’ll indulge me?” He asked, “his general... annoyance at me surely doesn’t just stem from your discussion the previous night, so I was curious as to why he acts like that.”

Cas seemed to relax a bit at that, though his brows furrowed as he considered the question. “I couldn’t say, Sire… Gabriel has always been a bit… brash towards Alphas… Unless he was sleeping with them.” He shrugged. “But he’s never been as hostile as if your words imply. Perhaps he is simply being over protective. He /has/ played the role as my Omega for quite some time now.” He shrugged, obviously at a loss for any real answer.

Dean nodded, believing Castiel. “That’s fine. I understand.” He said softly. “I hope you did sleep well last night though, you did seem very... almost delirious before you fell asleep. Can you remember any of it?” He asked.

Castiel’s flush deepened In his embarrassment. “Some.” He acknowledged. “I apologize immensely for bring so improper, Your Majesty.” He rushed. “I can not believe I feel asleep in the middle of our discussion. It will not happen again I assure you.”

“Oh do not worry, Castiel, I have been tempted to do it before now, myself.” Dean smiled. “Do you remember what we were discussing, or will I need to go over it with you? I just do not wish to have your... knowledge lacking in any areas.” Dean explained softly. His hands resting on the table, where Castiel could see them as he leaned back in his chair.

"Yes of course, Sire." He nodded as he considered it a moment. "We were discussing proper attire and terms used during events and in private when becoming your Royal Aide." He offered simply.

Dean nodded and smiled. “You were so delirious I wondered if you had remembered.” Dean tapped his finger on his desk before laying out the files on the potential new Commanders. “Which ones would you say are the best for the role? I know I have ones that I would say are the best, but I wish for your opinions first.” Dean explained.

Cas gave another nod before stepping forward to glance down at the papers. “I would say that there are really only three that stand out more than the others. “Raphael is a strong soldier, he does very well when it comes to fortification and defensive tactics though his offensive strategies are above average, they still need improvements. I have been tutoring him for some time now and there are some improvements though he has a difficult time making sacrifices for tactical advantage. Then there is Azra’il whose battle tactics are a bit… aggressive but effective. The men respect him and he is loyal. He prefers to fight among his men rather than oversee them. It is not a traditional leadership but it strengths the bond between them and causes him to become more reserved when there is a potential of losing men. His tactics are sound and he is a hard worker. Finally, Zerachiel, my second in command he knows the men and the city backwards and forwards. In a simulated environment his tactics are flawless, he’s quick to come to decisions and is ruthless when solving a problem. It is possible he could make a fine Knight Commander he is young though and has never seen a real battle. I am unsure the seasoned soldiers would follow someone such as that… Not until they see how he faces bloodshed.” Cas explained. “That being said, any man on this list would make a fine replacement, Sire.”

“I was leaning to Zerachiel, but as you said, he’s never seen bloodshed. But I do like Azra’s leading style. It could improve the moral of the men, through the difficult adjustment period.” Dean added. “Though, as you know them to best, I will follow your better judgement between Zerachiel and Azra.”

“If I may, Sire…” Cas offered. “I would suggest promoting them both. Azra’il taking the title of Knight Commander whith Zerachiel as his advisor and second. Zerachiel may not be fond of the idea of remaining second but he would be satisfied with the notion that he still has power over the pieces on the board and can prove to be a heavy counterweight to Azra’il eagerness.” He explained. “It also allows Azra’il to free more time for training with the troops while Zerachiel focuses on the more scholarly aspects of the position; and gives Zerachiel a more aggressive counterpart to push him to earn the respect of his soldiers.” Cas explained.

Dean nodded and smiled. “I’ll have my brother draw up the contract for both men. I knew you would be wise enough to become my Aide. And the Aide you are replacing will be honoured to have such a wise man take up his mantle.” Dean smiled. “I will also have my brother draft up a contract for yourself first, to read and change as you see hit. I don’t believe there’s ever been an Omega Aide before, so some of it may be... uncomfortable or inapplicable to you.” Dean explained.

“I have been viewed as an Alpha for a long time, Sire; there is not much in the way of an Alpha’s role that is ‘uncomfortable’ to me any longer.” He replied before hesitating. “Though… I would like to address my men as soon as possible. Since I am no longer allowed the herbs I’ve been using to suppress my nature I fear that if we wait much longer there could be a few… unsavory issues. I know you are busy, Your Grace, but perhaps you could spare a bit of time this evening?”

“Of course I can.” Dean nodded. “Come by here when you are ready and I shall be waiting to go down with you. I know you feel like you don’t need a chaperone, but I know how Alphas will feel if they find out an Omega has been lying to them. That an Omega was in charge. The situation may become hostile... so I’ll use my presence to keep them from doing anything reckless.” Dean explained.

Cas pursed his lips obviously still not liking the idea, though for a different reason than before. It was his duty to protect the King and now he was the reason the man would be put in a potentially unfavorable situation. He supposed he would just have to station more guards in the King’s entourage. “Of course, Your Majesty.” He acknowledged with a small bow. “Do I have your permission to discuss the promotion with the two men in question? With the confusion that will no doubt be imminent I feel it may be necessary to warn them both of their new responsibilities. I, of course, will not provide any unnecessary information until after the address.” He offered, meaning there was no need for them to know of his status before the others, just that he was stepping down.

“Of course you may, Castiel. At your addressing this evening, would you like to explain your replacements then or at a later date?” Dean asked, wanting to know the Omega’s thought process of the situations. It may make some angrier, but it’s also better to do it all in one go that twice.” Dean suggested.

“I would agree, Sire. Announcing the promotions would be wise.” He acknowledged. “At the very least it would give the two the authority needed to minimize the chaos.” He offered.

“Yes.” Dean agreed. “That settles it.” He puts the documents neatly away in a cabinet and turns back to Castiel, “is there anything else you would like to ask me? Maybe not as a friend, maybe not as your King, but as an acquaintance. Anything at all?” Dean asked

Castiel hesitated, obviously having something on his mind but not quite knowing how the King would respond. "Yes, Si-" He began before realizing he was using the man's title and stopping himself. "Dean." He corrected averting his gaze and flushing slightly. "A favor... About Gabriel... Please dont hold his behavior against him. It is my fault really for protecting him so thoroughly. He is a good man... who has been through a lot. I'm afraid he simply doesnt know better. I assure that I will ensure this is rectified before my transition to Royal Aide... I would like him to remain by my side if you would allow... As an aid of sorts."

“Castiel, He... threatened me. As the person I am, I didn’t take it seriously, but to him it was serious. I cannot trust him, with... the way he speaks, and behaves. He stole another Alpha’s clothes.” Dean explained. “I-” he shook his head as he thought. “He can still live with you, but he cannot know about the work you are doing. I am sorry, Castiel, but I have to think about the sensitive data you will be handling, I just can’t trust him with it.” He explained softly

Cas straightened looking shocked. "He threatened you?" He growled for once looking the part of an Alpha only briefly before he managed to reign himself in. Gabriel was lucky be was still alive after such treason. "O-of course, Sire. A wise decision in light of your interactions. Perhaps a simple role as a palace servant would be more appropriate? Maybe in the kitchens where he cant cause much trouble. He is quite a skilled Baker. As for the clothes... well there are a few Alphas in the barracks that are in a bit of a prank war with my brother... I assure you it's nothing to worry about. But if you would prefer I can put an end to it."

“That is a wise choice, Castiel. But no, if the pranking is consensual, then I see no reason to halt it.” Dean explained. “Plus if we put him to work in the kitchens, he may slow down on the pranking.” Dean hummed, and tapped his desk, in thought. “May I ask you a question?”

Cas blinked in surprise that the man would even bother with the request. "Of course, your majesty." He shrugged.

“I keep calling you, Castiel, but is there a name you prefer, I noticed your brother called you Cassie a lot. But then he was calling me Deano.” Dean asked. Trying not to let his annoyance creep into his voice. “Is there a name you prefer to be called?” Dean asked softly.

That was an… unusual question. No one had ever really bothered to ask him that question before. “No, Sire.” He admitted honestly. “You may call me whatever you wish. Though… I would prefer it isn’t ‘Cassie’.” He added, nose wrinkling in disgust.

Dean chuckles. “How about I call you Cas?” He asks. “I’ve always had an aversion to long names, unless it’s my brother Sammy.” He smiles. “Just one last question and then you can ask me anything you’d like. Have you given our arrangement for a date any more consideration?”

“That is acceptable, Your Majesty.” Cas offered with a small bow. With the second question however he seemed to pause in consideration. “I have… thought about it… However, to be honest I have been quite busy with the change of command. After the address this evening, however, I suppose I will have plenty of free time.” He offered.

“I understand, Cas. Tonight think about it and get some rest. I’ve asked for the rest of the week off so I won’t get any more paperwork, so until Sunday, I will be teaching you the role of the Royal Aide of the Cavalry, if that is suitable for you.” Dean explained. “And then on Sunday, I shall teach you... the rules of... eloquence, for the meal that evening where I shall introduce you as our newest Aide and the old one will officially step down.” Dean explained. “Is that suitable for you?”

“That is most gracious of you, Sire.” Cas acknowledged. “That is more than adequate time for the transition. I look forward to meeting everyone and learning of my duties. I hope to be as much of service as I have in the past.” He nodded before hesitating. “As well as spending more time with His Majesty.” He added, flushing slightly but managing to keep his expression even.

Dean raised an eyebrow at the Omega, but didn’t press. “Would you like to ask me anything else?” He asked. “About my policies I’m wishing to implement, or about my personal life. Anything at all.” He offered. “And remember not every Aide or Commander will get the opportunity to ask me anything so openly.”

The questions I should be asking are: Is typography legible? (I can work on this through appropriate choice of typefaces) How can I improve accessibility? (I can do this by considering contrast between foreground and background colours) How can I improve usability? (I can do this through a considered typographic hierarchy) Case study: language and type The Government website started with user needs to improve their own website. Wwhen developing a brand dictionary, we must think about what we can do with constraints. We must also ensure that every page or search has a clear call to action and when considereing typography, less is more. When designing, we shouldnt feel overwhelm with technical specifications for example. It is important to tell a story- for example for my website the most important thing I should showcase is my design process to improve my chances of being hired. When telling my story, I could either quicken or slow down the pace just like james bond does- where the scenes slows down later in the movie, I could simulate this by for example showing the case study first then the about section. The first piece should excite the user and set the pace of the website because getting the right balance of pace is important. I will for example consider how to navigate people to other pages and at what pace which will connect the three dots that show a start, middle and end. This will help in showing key messages when they are most important.

But I was asking him specific questions like how it was that he was located out of Bedford, Kentucky? And if Italian was his first language? The name of his business? But he never really answered those questions.

After a week or so the first shoe drops!

"I have been so busy today because something came up and i have to travel tonight to Dubai for a week, i was contacted by the customs there to come over to sign some confirmation papers because some security protocol was breached by the shipper during the shipment of my cars and some incomplete paperwork from Germany. The cars are 16 in total, a total of 4 - 20ft container consisting of 4 cars in each.

The plan was to ship down to Dubai, talk to a dealership and move them for sale. We can always communicate everyday through emails and phone until i get back home, I promise to keep in touch and seeing you would be top priority on my return.

This could be the beginning of forever and i would put my mind to it and i want you to also. please have a good evening, i would talk to you soon , please leave me your phone number.

So, what was so bothersome about this?

The delay did not bother me at all because I wasn't so sure I was ready to meet him anyway. What bothered me is that there was no traceof an Italian accent in his voice during our phone conversation -- despite the fact that he was supposedly raised in Italy until the age of 12.

I asked him again why he was based out of Kentucky, but I was not satisfied with the answer as he only spoke to getting out of Florida after his wife's death.

Put on Your Investigator Hat!

Being the savvy investigator that I was, (wink, wink) I decided to check him out online.

The only Mark Rossi my google search found in Bedford, Kentucky looked nothing like my Mark. The guy was the wrong age, very scruffy looking and it was a mug shot.

Well, that can't be him. So, I checked in California where he supposedly first lived and I checked in Florida. A little voice in me said that he might not be who he says he is. But, I decided to play it out, see where it led. Maybe he was just a really great guy.

Gullible? Yes, a bit!

I asked him to send me photos of himself in Dubai (to see if he is really there). Also, I decided I wanted to re-read his online profile as I could not remember everything on it.

After all, if I wanted to be the last love of Mark Rossi, I better double-check on what he actually had said about himself. But, the profile had been removed from the online dating site. (Not a healthy sign.)

"My One and Only, I am about to sleep here. Tomorrow will be a long day for me I have to get every paper work cleared and have things back on track for the full release of all my shipments so i get to deal with the dealership that buys them before leaving for the states, can't wait as it's been a long week already.

I think of spending alot of time with you when I get back to town and holding you so close to me. Whenever you think of me, please know that no matter how many miles separate us or how much of our lives comes between us we would have many lovely times and fond memories.

Even though we're apart, this will not be the end of our commitment until i meet you and i fell you in my arms.

Just always remember that I really adore you already and I want you to be part of me and me for you too as i can feel my lonely days are over.

He texted "The paperwork would finalize the major dealings here and I would be back home as planned and right now I need 2900USD to solve this problem within the next 24hours. So far no one is able to help me out. I am devastated."

After some more back and forth he said:

"Honey is there anyway you can give me a short loan and when I return on Monday I would pay you back, I can double it for you. I feel so ashamed of myself asking you. I never wanna creat a wrong impression. I just wanna get out of this mess. Deadline got me so worried."

What a load of crap!

I asked him why he didn't just call his bank and get them to wire the funds to him. And, how could it be that he, an international business entrepreneur, had no one at his age of 62 who he could call besides a lady he had never even met? He had an answer for everything.

I told him I would have to think about that.

It took me about a minute to decide.

That was it. Mark had finally revealed the real reason that he had contacted me thru online dating in the first place. The gig was up. He called a few more times, but I did not take the calls. And my wardrobe make over could wait. The take away is this --

You need to meet someone in person, if you want to have any hope of knowing who they are. Otherwise, you only know what the online dating profile says and what they want you to know. a) They might still be hiding something that would be very obvious if you were to meet them in person. b) Some people have long distance relationships with what turns out to be a fantasy. The person is not what they think.

Do a little research to find out about a person who might make a potential match from an online dating service as soon as you have a name. Try doing a search on your own name. It is surprising how much you can find out yourself that is actually out there and available if someone searches for it. a) Although it never occurred to me at the time, Mark Rossi probably was the guy in the mug shot. I just had never in my wildest dreams guessed that someone would go to the lengths that he did to perpetrate a fraud. b) The flight itinerary looked authentic at first glance. Reading it more carefully, KNS is not the symbol for Kansas City International. The symbol is MCI. When I checked the flight numbers through the airline, they do not exist. So, what looked real was just a fake. If Mark (or whoever he was) had used his skills for something positive there is no telling how successful he might have become.

Be real when you put together an online profile. I was advised, for instance, not to list myself as a widow. But, to say that I was divorced instead. The premise is that gold diggers are looking for a recent widow because they think she probably has life insurance money. But I really would rather keep my radar up than start off by presenting myself as different from who I really am. I have met gentlemen that have shaved a few years off themselves in their profiles, probably this is true with ladies too. You don't want or need to tell them everything, but whatever you do say in the profile of yourself, I would try to be honest. You want to find someone who likes YOU -- not an image of someone you wish you were or someone you think is more desirable.

Have fun with online dating! Don't take yourself too seriously. If you are sitting home alone and would rather be in a relationship; if you want someone to share a meal or a drink with you, if you want to find your own "last love" go online and meet someone.

hi, i was wondering how i can get diagnosis independently such as online or something because im finding it difficult to tell m y parents about my symptoms. im regularly dissociating and nothing feels real and im constantly suicidal and have intrusive thoughts and do impulsive things like harming myself,,, i need answers

HI anon ! Thank you so much for your ask !

depending what you want from a diagnosis will depend where you go. I’m glad you're talking about your worries about parental involvement into your health, as i actually was referred without parental involvement at all to my child and adolescent mental health service (uk mental health system) ! be it from the issues being sources from home/ worried about parents potential negative outlook to treatment or diagnosis/ family circumstance which can in turn result in a difficult treatment process as you can already be maybe experiencing , but i strongly still advise if there’s a way to educate (if its not a case of safety or worsening mental health obviously) parents, family or gradually open debates on general mental health or provide a way for any parent or carer to then be in a better mindset and moral position to help you when you may need it most or support you along treatment, and if this is not possible find friends you can be open with or a teacher, therapist, social worker/counselor, just someone you can trust ! :). some adult try to think of (especially their) children in the best light so mental health issues can be a little confusing and feel most helpful cover it up (till its over) kinda thing (which any professional will tell you ‘off the bat’ is not how it works with mental health, brain is an organ that requires care on top of that body part being also linked up to your whole body, so is a priority and no care can make things much worse) especially very confusing for a parent or someone who has never experienced dissociation before. thats my step one, step two is back to thinking who to ask! so, for example, if your looking for help with your symptoms or a treatment path, but step one if family isnt working out right now or you don’t feel now is the right time (which i understand, and agree with you if thats your choice trust me aha) i would recommend counselors that can work into your school schedule with our disrupting a school timetable and take notes of symptoms and then transfer them to a phycologist that can privately come in for you to meet with you outside of school, remember often admitting discomfort around parental involvement is often respected and makes things easier! if your not at school or uni/college a local church or temple will have someone you can talk to and they tend to be a lot more private with information, as they won’t, have a name and document attached to you like in a school setting, but can be a more lengthy wait to meet a genuine diagnostic phycologist who can recommend you then for dpdr treatment as unlike a school there’s no laws ensuring time limits for waits, but i can almost guarantee they will know your local centers or services specific to you too during that wait. ,or if you’re rather looking for the validation of a diagnosis and less of a treatment (which i do not recommend without then digging further for treatment after diagnosis as of the serious nature of dpdr) making appointments with your doctor and use key symptoms and words, bring up dpdr prior if possible, on phone or email etc and prepare your doctor to learn about dissociation before appointment as they will be a general practitioner and likely not even be aware of dissociation so dont let this hold you back from receiving help., use bus routes and learn your transport to your doctors and work out how to get there by yourself or with non-family related transport like friends etc. if being physically present for an appointment doesn’t work discuss with local church/temple or school to write a recommendation for as you said ‘online’ are “skype”/video call or “phone based” therapies and appointments which my university has and i believe is a method being implemented universally around the world atm, although I’m not sure how comfortable most diagnostic doctors are with creating a fully diagnosable profile of a person without seeing you interact in real terms with them and talk face to face but this can help create a profile, speed up the whole process, as less in centre time for a doctor to schedule and limit total of parental questioning visits out of the house without an excuse if your a bad liar like me aha. if your still worried about your privacy? discuss legality of search up on your age and information sharing laws of where you live. but this should in no shape of form limit your ability to get support when you need it, so don't let fear or other people come between you’re health and especially with what your describing its critical to find treatment as soon as possible as it can have longer lasting and faster recovery from damaging symptoms. so step three you’ve found the path of entry to a doctor best suited for you, create a list of symptoms, as i know i certainly dissociate during a session and can’t imagine the bravery it takes to make that first jump for you so to avoid your dissociation limiting your treatment again ill reiterate, use keywords, key symptoms ideally in perspective to how its effecting the main “three life indicators” social life, work and school life, and day to day routine functioning and use depersonalisation and derealisation, dissociation, etc as this helps your doctors more than imaginable in figuring out what’s going on in your head, remember even the experts aren’t experts and will need your guidance sometimes to reach a conclusion to help you or recommend you to the right people for you, be honest!. some resources to help you find some words that will ‘click’ better with a doctor and other help dpdr related-> (http://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/dissociative-disorders/dissociative-disorders/#ddd). as i know with my doctors at least they we’re very confused initially and then extra time had to to be spent on rewording my experiences to what they were taught as they were not very well working with dissociative disorders but of course had the basic training as a phycologist. dissociation is terrifying as im sure you know so i recommend finding grounding or ‘time slowing’ techniques that help to slightly regaining enough time to prevent impulses taking over your ability to control your own bodies actions. its key to not panic during dissociation and sometimes sit and accept the sensations even if quite violent or sensory distressing, gaining control when your not there to be in control is something i combat every day and it can feel scary but certain techniques like going limp or short term solutions to keep you from harm is important right now till you get the support you feel you need. i also recommend discussing medication before talking any as many effect dissociation and should be taken into consideration which many doctors forget and EMDR is the best and latest treatment for chronic dpdr ! so make sure this is mentioned in your first appointment as to put you on the waiting list asap i write a bit more on it here -> and dpdr in general to help you or anyone your talking to to understand it all a bit better ive written and used external information to help me put this page together https://dpdr-dreams.tumblr.com/about%20dpdr

although treatment can vary too , remember they will be trauma-related treatment rather than only grounding technique worksheets as your symptoms are 24/7 dissociation,( some suffer from off and on anxiety induced moments of dpdr , so dont let your doctor confuse these things and put you on the wrong care programme) the treatment list will be, CBT, talk therapies, medication for other emotional health issues you may also be experiencing, but the most important treatment at the moment for dpdr is EMDR, so as of your long lasting sensations i’d say it would be best fighting for that care plan :).

again if its more you feel you struggle abit to talk with parents but are able to if possible persist! and educate! u can use some of the information i provided to help you make your point to your parents if that’s easier or write down how you feel or the symptoms of a real illness you’re experiencing to your parent, find a way if possible! :))

Hello again friend!

loaded questions, but i’m here for ya best I can.

Off the top I do want to make it clear I’m not like PhD in Trans nor do I have any experience outside my own. I don’t make rules, only suggestions haha that said I’ll offer what I can and I hope to best for you no matter what and trust that you will figure out what works best for you based on your personal situation/concerns/etc.

I also always highly recommend seeking counsel as it can sometimes be really helpful when dealing with your surrounding community. Not being a professional and in fact just some stranger online, my advice could really miss a target. I mean regardless of any situations i do think (and kind of wish everyone would) everyone should go to therapy at some point(s), and when im searching for therapists i always use helppro.com so i can search for one experienced with LGBT folk (and takes my insurance etc). They would be able to get a better snapshot of your life will be able to suss out if you have any conditions that should be taken into consideration when handling emotionally stressful situations, etc and be able to kind of better customize advice. Now that all that is outta the way...

Re Parents: Number one will always be safety if you live with your parents. I would never encourage someone to put themselves in danger’s way to be out. Sometimes people need to conceal to get through some time of their life. It’s ok and doesn’t make anyone less valid. If you are uncertain of their leanings, you can test the waters which is made a bit easier with trans headlines being more common (even if it is for awful reasons like our dehumanization etc but we’ll get to that in a minute) so casually bringing up a hot topic like that via a news article isn’t that far out, and people are inclined to have an opinion they want to share no matter who they are. I feel like I sound kind of cavalier like “Oh just dont come out if you don’t feel comfy” but I understand that it’s not an easy thing to do. However, situations are temporary and to make it to a better one where you could be both safe and out will take endurance. This is also another point at which therapy would be extremely helpful.

Re Doubt and Comments: I bring up this story so often that I’m starting to feel a lil embarrassed but it’s so good! The Bear That Wasn’t. Essentially, no matter the label, no matter what others say, and even if you doubt yourself- you will remain who you are, who you’ve always been. People may try to impress their perspective onto you like how the president of the factory in the story tried to impress his minimal human knowledge of bears onto a bear (not no silly bear mind you!), but it’s not going to change who you are. At the end of the day, only we, as individuals, can attest to who we are. We all go through our different experiences that bring us to realization of our identities that maye have been supressed by “standards”, even if it includes doubting yourself, denying yourself, until you can’t anymore. It’s especially hard if you wish to transition and/or experiencing dysphoria to maintain confidence in yourself. I found more confidence in clothes. And my hair. Any form of expression where I could exert control on myself (in a productive not a destructive manner) would help me ge through the day. Not to say I did myself up every day, but now in then maybe give myself a haircut or try a new hairstyle/color/outfit/etc.

As much as I preach about autonomy and being independent and not caring about what others think, having a supportive community can really help your confidence too. Not sure what your situation is like, but hopefully your parents can be part of that community. Having external affirmation of your identity is a valid desire because it’s conveyance of trust that we know who we are and are who we say we are.

Accepting and openly expressing your identity costs everyone else approx $0, so you owe nobody a thing for being who you are- keep that in mind. Someone sharing aggression towards you or in a general manner to the community, that’s them airing their insecurities and they think they are disguising whether it be with a veil of nationalism, fauxfeminism, religious piety, etc.

This is already very long so I’m going to wrap up real quick. Generally speaking, don’t stress yourself to do everything at once. You have time, even if you are a million years old and have a terminal illness, you can take all the time you want to do what you want. Understand that rejection is a reality many must face but that it doesn’t mean youve done anything wrong. Doubting yourself when a lot of people are tellin you you should is a normal thing to experience, but again it doesn’t mean youre wrong. One of the most important things my dad ever told me was when I came out and he told me to have patience with myself and others. It’s most crucial. People will know how to press your buttons. Your job is to show them that you got bigger fish to fry. Which you do! It’s not your responsibility to right their wrongs, all you are responsible for is ensuring your own safety and contentment and doing no harm to yourself or others. Confidence and Self Belief to walk through that door believing in yourself and your worth

The ability to overcome nerves and present the best version of yourself

Find the perfect match between what you want and what they want

As I have spent my entire May 2019 making applications and interviewing around the country and technically through Skype, around the World, its been a really interesting find for me.

I left France and had one focus; I will work in Africa this year in a great role for a meaningful charity. Then narrow it down, the vision was Sub Saharan Africa on a poverty reduction programme. One goal. One focus. This clarity left no room for doubt or failure, as all efforts and mental acuity was needed to seek out the right role and find the right match for both parties.

But as time passed by and rejections (a natural part of the game) came in, the clarity became murky and the doubt seeped in. Naturally leading to some questionable applications to low hanging fruit jobs.

As I approached each interview; I started to create some rules for myself:

-Research who I am meeting and what I am actually going for, in depth. The credibility of the organisation, the competency level of the interviewers, the values held, the culture. I asked myself before every interview, was this the right fit for me?

Just like dating, the professional world can often stamp this level of thought out of you. Who are you entitiled milenial to ask such questions, work is work, money, goals, pay your bills, thats it. There is a real hand to mouth unspoken culture that many fall victim to; that when you approach a potential employer, you need to wow them and prove your worth.

But actually, the same applies both ways. You will give 40-70 weekly hours of your time to this place, sacrifice time with family and friends and commit to this new role with all you have. So, do you want to work there, with that team, doing that role, feeding into that culture?

-Confidence in myself and my ablities, irrespective of the experience and outcome of the interview. We all know how it feels to have an interview that just tears you to shreds. So why then did they not call? Why was the job not offered? Why were you not even good enough to warrant feedback?

These experiences can be really damaging to self esteem and confidence in your own abilities and skillsets. A 22k job can turn you down but a 50k job can hire you. I love cake but hate meringue.

The point is, despite the outcome of the interview (or date) preserve the belief in yourself. Its that full tank that will enable you to get to the next window, the next seat, the next interview to find your match and land your next opportunity.

-Preparation: We are stepping into some provocative grounds as I continue to compare dating and interviewing. Although the kind of preparations made before either appointment vary massively in some regards, the principles are the same. I know the interviews I’ve prepared at length for and still been unsuccessful, then I recall the interviews offered at short notice and doing a late notice swot only to land the job.

But leaving these to chance and luck isnt an option for me anymore. Its important I feel prepared and ready so I give myself the very best chance to secure something I am set on. Preparing myself from the logistics, to role research, value addition propositions and proposals for role specifics. I ensure I look the part, feeling as though there is enough professionalism and appropriateness as there is character and personality. From getting the right amount of sleep before to proper nutrition of the body and the mind and spirit.

The competence enables the confidence and the confidence is the driving force to set me up in the best position. If I dont believe in my own abilities to undertake this role, why should they hire me? Just like if we dont love ourselves, how can anyone love us?

But with these rules, came some very interesting experiences. How one interview can make you feel like a lost tourist while another can provide you with satisfaction in your own skills and abilities. How some interviewers treat you as they would in the role and that is a very good indicator to what the role and working relationship will look like. How this is all about puzzle pieces, both employers and job seekers each trying to find the right match for them as they embark on a new relationship.

In exactly three weeks I left one role and landed my perfect next step. But in between that were so many applications, conversations, interviews and wavy levels of confidence and clarity.

I didnt stop until I secured my right fit. I trusted my own abilities. I held the calm and deep level of faith and matched this with positive habits and endless grit and determination.

Like dating, sometimes we have to trust in a bigger picture that the right one is coming. The deep level of faith and positive habits with the above rules can help with the dating world and as well as the interviewing world.

So to both dating and work considerations...

1. Keep an unwaivering faith and deep belief that the right thing/ person will come to you. The books, studies, podcasts, prayers, vision boards, mantras, it will all lead to what is meant for you.

2. Match your belief with work, research and preparation. Nothing in life is handed and the next role or person in your life deserves you, because you are magic and light in this world. So dont leave room for doubt and set yourself up for success

3. The reactions of others should never dictate the feelings of you. You may have to kiss many frogs or interview at many places, but any role or person worthy of you will treat you in a way that feels comfortable and right to you.

4. An interview or a date shouldnt warrant a character assassination, nor should you do the same to them. Let the past be the past and dont hold any grudges of an ex or previous employer and affect how you treat the next. Heal, move forward, learn and grow. Its good to look at for similar signs, but also be willing to give this new person or role a fresh chance
