Part 1 of my Jure outfit is done. I managed to sew these pants together today and I'm actually really proud of them! I've never installed a fly zipper before and the pockets are a new style for me too. If I had bigger eyelets I might put them on the pockets but for now I really like how they turned out! (Here's the button details and the pants just hanging up so you can see the pleats in the front. I feel like you can tell it's handmade when you look at the details lol)

i have this idea in which lip was actually a really sweet and considerate/sensitive kid growing up (as opposed to his tough exterior and “idgaf” attitude now) but was corrupted almost immediately. fiona tried her best to protect him from it all but she was so young herself that it failed in a lot of ways. the other kids had multiple siblings to protect them from the truth, but fiona and lip had to kind of experience it raw and be the guinea pigs of sorts when it came to their parents behaviors.

i imagine younger-him as being similar to debbie in the sense of caring for frank and monica. he used to make sure frank had a pillow under his head and blanket over him when he would pass out drunk on the hardwood floor. he would always bring monica little gifts or come in and tell her about his day when she was having an episode. he would comfort fiona when she cried and no one else seemed to care. he didn't always know why she was crying and he was so little he would just sit beside her and listen if she needed. i imagine that slowly over time, especially when debbie was born and/or ian got older, he developed this tougher exterior, losing his innocence in a concrete way that would change him forever. he knew he had to try protect them from what he went through, even though he knew he couldn't fully and that responsibility changed him too.

anyways, lip gallagher being a sweet kids with a good heart and deep consideration for others is real to me and that part of him was corrupted at such a young age. but it still shines through especially when it comes to his siblings. he has a softness to him that was never lost but takes a special person to see and recognize it.

yknow i talk a lot of shit about pallas but i WILL say that everything they add to the character relationship web is absolute GOLD truly no one is doing it like them. mutual dependence and obsession and maybe even tenderness forming w their narrative foil/fellow protagonist until their character arcs become inextricably linked. hamlet n hortatio dynamic w their deadbestfriend. You’re Just Like Me For Real (derogatory) gayass rivalry constantly happening in the background. You’re Just Like Me For Real (affectionate) tragic attempted mentorship also happening the background. they have mommy issues from a character that isn’t even technically related to them.

yesterday i crushed my middle three fingers on my right hand w a 40lb window (long story, was emergency) and today, because primarily using my nondominant hand isn’t inconvenient enough, i got a paper cut on the tip of my left pointer. 4/10 fingers not at peak function. i cannot afford to lose any more
