i mentioned this on a post before, but i really dont think people understand zoro/luffy/zoros relationship to the other strawhats in general. zoro is imo the most mischaracterized out of all the east blue members and because of the mischaracterization issues with zoro/sanji it only gets worse? people dont understand that he wants/craves validation specifically from his people, and he loves them even if he can't say that aloud or articulate it as well as sanji could, he loves them very obviously. (theres several examples of how zoro will try to look cool for nami and luffy the most. the way people misinterpret zoro and nami is actually very similar to how people misinterpret zoro and sanji, but i digress)

zoro likes all of his people. loves them. is their friend first and foremost. what people misunderstand about him is assuming a romantic context would override/diminish the feelings of devotion he has already, on a baseline, for his partners.

Thinking about Uzugiyuu again... I feel like the main appeal about them is opposites attract, but I think there's a bit more to it. The fanbook says that Giyuu feels envious about Tengen's sense of freedom, and it makes me think that in a way, Giyuu looks up to him too. Perhaps a small part of Giyuu wants to be free like Tengen. I love the idea of Giyuu getting to explore the "inner flashiness" in himself through Tengen, just him becoming more comfortable in expressing to make up for all the years that he wasn't able to. On Tengen's side, I like to imagine him going from "This guy's so gloomy!" to "Wait he's actually fun" and "he's flashy in his own way" I just love the idea of these two people finding the unlikeliest companionship through each other.

Do you think any of the crew members (outside of maybe Daisuke) actually believed that Curly intentionally crashed the ship? Obviously, that's the story that they're told, and the "fact of the matter," but do you think Anya or Swansea ever for a moment really bought it? They've both worked with Curly for at least one other haul prior to that one, I don't think they would have ever gotten a grasp for a motivation and Jimmy's accusations sound like they're pulled straight out of his ass anyways.

I think they could have believed it at first, I mean the initial shock of the accident, Curly being in the cockpit, Jimmy's likely embellished story...

Though I think they realized one by one. Anya first because she knew the type of person Curly was and that he wouldn't take it out on them all (he'd just shoot himself) and knowing the type of person Jimmy is and that he actively would. Swansea likely started believing things weren't adding up towards the end and with all the evidence stacking against Jimmy, he realized either during his speech or right before it. Daisuke is the only one who'd have no real reason to not believe Jimmy as he died before having that doubt sowed into him.

Still, I don't think they let Curly know that. A big reason I think only Anya and Jimmy deal with Curly is because she had fond sentiments for him and Jimmy is obsessive. Swansea likely doesn't want to deal with someone he believes put them in this situation and Daisuke listens to him/wouldn't be much help. I think a big factor in Anya's case is that Curly went to confront Jimmy before the crash and knows it wasn't just him with something on the line. She could've believed something more sinister occurred but again, she has no proof.

It's still a little tragic after all that he has to live with the fact that they all believe he put them in that awful position. That they all could've thought so little...

Kinda got a love/hate relationship with the history of K/S because it's like. Can I please have a queer discussion about this 1960s television show without it being reduced to "shipper discourse". i was asked what id want and after thinking about it, its like i locked in. i made a REALLY rough pose sketch and this be pixels result. it fucks HARD. i wanted this in particular because one thing i love about pixel is the way they do lighting. i sent this to one of my friends, not really in fandom the way we are, and hes a bit of an older millennial (not that it matters, but for context on the... "taking in" of the piece) and he pointed out the lighting too, which is why i think its just genius, the way pixel does it. we call it "the lights are dancing", and its devolved to "ITS DANCING. THEYRE DANCING" back and forth between each other

anyway something about smoking together that is so intimate (and... the concept of smoking is so sexy. But Do Not Smoke Cigarettes It Is Not Worth It) which is why i keep having these pieces done/keep making them.

fun fact, cigarettes have the filter be yellow because it, apparently, used to be cork, and they just never changed it. you know how the save is still a floppy disk in certain apps? yup. well, because im quirky, in the underground (the equivalent to the hidden cities in rise), the cigarette filter is a light blue! you can see it the most in the original picture :) maybe its magic related?
