Hello! I have a Situation and its totally cool if you're not able to give advice but im looking for advice anyway bc im autistic and have no idea how to navigate romantic situations.

So ive had a friend since i was 12 her pronouns are she/they so i will be using both. Im now 20 and they're 21. I've known I like girls since i was 13. And shes pan.

So, in the past, ive had like fleeting thoughts of dating/kissing them but i usually just shake my head and think "nah i cant possibly want to date her bc they're my best friend, i just have very strong platonic feelings." Like Very Strong. Ive literally said that i will always compare my feelings for a future romantic partner with my feelings for her bc they're so strong.

So im honestly not sure if i would know if i was in love with someone unless it hit me in the face, and i am currently feeling like it has hit me in the face. I woke up at like 4 am last night from a dream just thinking "omygosh im in love with her" and ive been journaling and thinking all day ahout my feelings and im starting to think ive just been in strong denial/oblivious about my feelings. Both bc im autistic and have difficulty identifying emotions and bc im demiromantic and rarely experience romantic attraction so i dont have much experience with it.

I guess the point of this ask is about any advice you can give regarding knowing if i actually have romantic feelings and if i do,, like what do i do about it??? Should i tell them? We have a really strong friendship and i dont wanna make her uncomfortable. I think ill be okay not acting on my feelings but its been literally less than 24 hrs since realizing my feelings might be romantic and i dont know if it will be difficult to hide or what to do about it. They're also like my only close friend so i cant just ask her what to do like i would normally, which is why im asking you.

Again, i understand if you cant answer this bc its a pretty personal situation but i would appreciate any advice.

Ahh once again prefacing with the fact that I am really Not Qualified to give advice on most things😅 but I can give you my take as an outsider on the situation and with my (very limited experience) in case that might help you at all, but again really take all of this with a LARGE grain of salt i am a VERY unqualified stranger on the internet so most of what i say is probably nonsense😅

I feel like this is like my go to advice but I’d say just wait it out tbh, as someone who was in capital L love with their childhood best friend for a while it really just came down to time for me. It took a while for me to be sure whether the feelings were romantic or platonic for SURE. Especially since the platonic love stayed for me even when the romantic love began🤷‍♀️ it made it extra tricky to tell lol.

My ‘oh this is NOT just platonic’ realization came from YEARS of excessive thinking about them, WAY too much jealousy when they dated other people, a LOT of thoughts and urges about holding their hand, a lot of comparing them to people i had passing crushes on, and (i kid you not) an embarrassing amount of love poems teenage me wrote about them lol😅

However! The slow process and thinking it through also lead me to the conclusion that i did NOT want to date them. Being a couple just wouldn’t work for us and I value them so so so SO much as my best friend and really need them in my life as that separate, constant, platonic relationship that I deeply love and care for. It works better for us than any sort of dating could🤷‍♀️ not to mention all of our other clashing traits that just wouldn’t work if our relationship was romantic. And now I’m honestly really not romantically interested in them anymore, they’re just my best friend and always will be :)

I dont think it’s too unusual to fall a bit (or a lot) romantically in love with a best or close friend, I think the more important thing to recognize is whether it’s something worth acting on, that you’re willing to act on, and that will be good for both of you to act on

So I’d say ruminate on it! There’s no pressure to figure it out, if you start getting too preoccupied with it you can try talking it through with them, not even as a confession type thing, you can simply have a conversation letting them know you’re a little confused or wanting their opinion if you think they’ll be receptive to it. Best I can tell you is that there’s no clock on figuring it out, there’s no “right” way to define what type of love you feel, and to remember that either way you’ve got a great person in your life. I’m very sorry I can’t be more help and if anyone has any other advice feel free to leave it in the notes for this person! Good luck to you and I hope you find what you’re looking for soon <3!!

hi love !!! this is totally fine to ask and im glad you did !! it could mean all of those things, but there aren’t a lot of asks i’m not willing to answer unless it makes me uncomfortable or i just don’t know what to do with it at all. but with some asks, i get inspiration instantly and get to writing the moment i receive it, and with other asks i unfortunately don’t, but i keep them in my inbox for later. especially with asks i want to write drabbles for, it might take longer because im a perfectionist lol.

there are also a few topics im less interested in and im thinking about making a post with these included so people know what to send in and what not. (i also spoke about it here a bit)

and please know that i’ve been receiving a lot of asks lately and im still figuring out how to answer each of them with the time i have in a day, especially because at the moment i have a lot in my inbox that i wanna write drabbles for and those just take a lot longer! for example i still have asks that i want to answer sitting in my inbox from more than a month ago but hopefully i’ll get to all asks eventually!

It's made me feel like i don't deserve to interact with this fandom anymore. I supported this person A LOT. That's something I try to pride myself on. I completely understand how you feel, actually— and I would even say it can only be natural to feel that way, it must be particularly shocking if you truly supported this person, and even believed them to be a good, genuine friend. You literally did nothing but be a very supportive mutual that tried to show appreciation, there’s nothing wrong with that, and no one in the fandom would even blame you for your kindness. You, and many other people were devastatingly fooled— I can offer my most sincere apologies for all of that.

I know how it feels, because I once had a friend that then felt like a perfect stranger. You think they are one thing and you love them very much and support them a 100%, only to find out something entirely different about them that shakes your entire being. It does feel like you are mourning the person you thought they were.

In my experience (not to make it self-centered, just giving you some tips to help you out), taking a few days to process everything properly and even mourn that old person you thought they were, helps a little bit. You can vent out all your feelings as much as needed to find a coping mechanism, even. It’s all so very shocking to see everything so blatantly exposed, even for me who I already had bad vibes about them.

It really, really hurts surely. It’s indeed quite messed up— but please, don’t beat yourself too much about it, and I genuinely mean it. As much as you loved them, they fooled you and all their other mutuals, I know more genuine and loving people will come along the way. I can tell you must be terribly endearing, don’t feel bad for having been supportive. ♡

I hope she loses her shit. Kaneeka is a very sensible person, fighting and murder are below her even at her worst (probably) but I hope she screams at Tabitha and tries to get her arrested or something. Keeping in mind that she's sorta under Sybil's control I'm not sure how much energy she'd really have to even yell at Tabby though.

How she treats MC will probably really depend where you stood with her previously- like you can literally be dating her at this point. At worst she treats you exactly like Tabby, at best I'm not sure? I can imagine MC playing a "I couldn't stop her" card and Kaneeka just redirecting any anger at you to Tabitha and completely blaming her. But she's also probably smarter than that? I'm curious if love interests can break up with MC if they do something completely unredeemable.

I'm not sure how she'd find out though if MC doesn't tell her. Doc Kelly walked all the way into the woods with us just to watch, defeated, as we set him on fire, and I really doubt she's willing to explain this to the police. I think Stella is closer to Reese than Kaneeka is, so I guess unless Stella knows what happens or gets worried she hasn't heard from him, idk how everyone will find out. I'm curious how people react to Doc Kelly's death too. In either case it's not like there's a body to be found. Maybe we just say they left or went missing?

Yes Isa is manipulating Daryl season 1 but he kinda resists against her and others. But maybe she's changed her mind and behaviour season 2 and that's why Daryl kissed her because he sees that? It would make sense that way. She was convinced Laurent was the saviour till that moment. I think Daryl has been very don't treat Laurent like that and Isa didn't agree till then. Glenn and Maggie fell in love within a few days so I don't know why people getting angry about Daryl and Isa. I do believe though Daryl is just kind of clinging to Isa above everything else even if he's attracted to her.

Isa is complex probably because not seen her whole arc I feel like she goes back and forth. I agree about vilifying female characters as you say - I just feel Isa has a reason to manipulate Daryl to protect Laurent and I get it. But it's kind of being extended to other people and they're basically just trying to use and exploit Daryl whether its Isa or Losang. I just think then ISA changes and stops then

It classed as fetishism because a nun is chaste and no romantic interests. There is fiction exploring nuns being sexual or romantic though which leads some people to think it's appropriate to carry it into real life unfortunately. Nunneries etc have guards etc to protect them. There is an argument nuns should be portrayed not as sexual objects or kinks. It's like librarians in real life getting sexually harassed due to that kind of stuff. It's just very casually treated in Daryl Dixon that Isa has renounced everything to become a nun and seems to take her vows very seriously but then Daryl comes and she's immediately lapsing and still being a nun and it's all OK 🙄 it would be interesting for her to have mentored the other girl further and say she's a novice, she doesn't have that experience of life like Isa, it's ok to leave her vows and live a different life while Isa is struggling with life outside the nunnery and temptation. Shes breaking her vows without showing any emotion. It's just really bad writing
