I don’t know what’s going to happen now. I don’t know what they’re going to do now. Jon does not sound very stable which is worrying but the world doesn’t sound very…good at the moment. I just feel very. Overwhelmed. Not overwhelmed. What’s a word where everything is crashing down and all you can do is watch??? Whatever.

I need to recover. For a bit before I start season 5. From what I hear, MAG 161 is rough. And I don’t think I can handle another thing that makes my brain fold in on itself.

*I have a billion thoughts about Mobius & Sylvie as a dynamic. There is a LOT to unpack between these two characters who’ve harmed each other deeply over the years (Mobius doing more harm IMO than Sylvie as much as I love him). Anyway, I imagine the process for forgiveness between them as a very long, windy, and imperfect journey. Many of these fics are focused on forgiveness and the hurt/comfort side of things and do an excellent job capturing the beginning or middle of this process.

Also ii spoilers but its hard to talk abt mephone without getting into the recent stuff so whatever

Context/background of II/mephone 

“Inanimate Insanity” (ii) is a web animation originally released in 2011, considered the second “major” object show after BFDI. btw an object show is a genre of web series that features anthropomorphized inanimate objects competing for some kind of prize. I am NOT the right person to ask about object shows cause the only one ive ever been invested in to this extent is ii and theres SOO many other ones out there LMAO. Ok sorry i sounded like a bot for a second there JUST PROVIDING CONTEXT!! Inanimate Insanity’s structure is kind of interesting because it starts out as a silly comedy in s1 and most of s2 before descending into a really drama heavy storyline, with tension caused both by mephone’s past haunting him and conflict between the contestants themselves. Then suddenly s2 goes on a four year hiatus and animationepic (main youtube channel) launches s3 with new characters and artstyle, seemingly completely ditching the plot they had in s2??? IM NOT GONNA GET TOO INTO ALL THAT but it all works out timeline wise so its chill the tone switch was just rly funny at the time 😭😭😭 

ANYWAYYYY mephone. Mephone4. Mister phone. Four. The one and only four. MeFon! MePhone4 (parodying the IPhone4) is the de facto host of the in-universe reality show “Inanimate Insanity”!! As the host, he has speaking lines in nearly every episode which is super awesome and epic for mephone4 enjoyers (me). His initial vibe was inspired by Chris McClean from TDI, and was even voiced by Christian Potenza in the first episode before being switched to Mark Katz, who is the father of the creator of II, Adam Katz, which is also pretty cool i think. Since Mark Katz is a grown ass dude, mephone just has. The same voice for like the entire series SHDHF everyone else’s voices are changing and stuff as the creators got older but mephone just sounds like a middle aged man for all of it 😭I love it tho this isn’t a criticism!!! As the years go by it gets more and more expressive :) s1 is. rough. considering it was made by a bunch of kids, its very much a product of its time lol

Lore/character 

Ok lore time cause the thing w mephone is most of his backstory was kind of just hinted at (or implied with the existence of Apple irl). Like in s1 there was the introduction of mephone4s and 5, but otherwise, not much (as far as I can remember. I watched s1 when i was a kid so its been a while lmao). Then there was s2e8 where the contestants go to headquarters and we meet steve cobs (yes, like steve jobs), who’s his creator and dad?? Again some hints are dropped but nothing concrete about their relationship. And then BOOM. SEASON 2 EPISODE 13. “Mine Your Own Business” was my fave II ep for sooo long (idk what my fave is now tbh) cause THE MEPHONE LORE DROP??????? IT WAS CRAZY and also the ending of the episode with fan’s monologue and the soundtrack “shell of a fan” is my fave in the show ANYWAY ANYWAY so begins the remembering of the Horrors. 

He was “born” in Meeple Headquarters, and PLEASE KNOW THAT HE WAS BORN AN ADULT OH MY GOD there are some clowns who think hes literally 14 years old bc thats how old the iphone4 is USE YOUR BRAIN USE YOUR BRAIN AAAAA right so he basically knows nothing about the world, confined to headquarters until his eventual escape. Cobs and mephone have a pretty interesting dynamic, where cobs has most of the power. The way Cobs praises mephone but later shoots him down is so AUHGHGHGH. It’s an oppressive environment he's living in, only expected to do assigned tasks and shamed for any genuine interests, while having the pressure to impress his creator on his shoulders at the threat of being discarded. Mephone grows to hate and fear cobs, but at the same time, cobs is the only person whos known him since the beginning.

The way literally every problem mephone has can be traced back to his origin/how he was raised is so crazy. Like even before the s2e16 twist, it was extremely prevalent??? There are a bunch of analysis posts that explain it way better than I could but MANNNN for a show that the crew started when they were literally 13, they were able to tie things together pretty well, i think! 

It’s been pretty obvious since s2e13 that hosting Inanimate Insanity is just one big escapist fantasy for mephone, one where he is free to do as he pleases while ignoring all the trauma he sustained in “childhood”. Cause it’s implied he escaped Meeple, deleted his bad memories, and then started s1 right after. I mean, it makes sense, since outside of the cold, mechanical nature of Meeple, the only warmth he got was from his enjoyment of reality tv shows. If s1 is an amnesia mephone, and s2 is a spiraling mephone, then I’d describe s3 as “escapism but worse” mephone. It doesn’t ever get as gloomy as s2, but s3 has steady background reminders of “hey guys remember mephone is running away from all his problems right now!!” until it all comes to head in the finale. Some ppl dislike how mephone-centric the show’s gotten, but honestly idgaf more for me

I do want to say that he is very flawed, though. Esp near the beginning, he is really fucking rude and does not respect his contestants at all and frequently belittles them and puts them in mortal danger. he tends to view them and everything that happens to them through the lens of “its just part of the show!!!!”. He tends to brush off everyone’s problems, no matter how serious, even when he’s the one that caused them.

His reality show host personality is all a very big facade to cover up how he feels about the past (thus further submerging him in the fantasy of Inanimate Insanity). Like previous users have mentioned, this is likely due to the fact that he had no one to learn HOW to be empathetic/kind from besides reality television (which is known to be exaggerated for drama) and cobs (who is his abuser) But I famously do enjoy characters who are kind of dickheads, the confidence being a mask is like a tasty bonus to me.

The dichotomy between his arrogant host exterior and paranoid/anxious interior is really interesting and fun to watch. Compared to his relatively sweet/naive beginning personality, it’s wild to see just how much he’s changed since then because of everything that’s happened.  His relationships with the rest of the characters is also interesting, cause despite being their host, he isn’t very close with a lot of them. Other than maybe Bot, who I believe he feels kinship with since they're both robots who freed themselves from the expectations of others. Same with Mepad, since they’re both from Meeple. 

He’s a robot, but in an emotional/psychological sense, is basically a normal person/object (person is synonymous with object in this case). He feels like a person despite being an AI. which makes cobs a lot worse imo, he mistreats all his creations, but at least the other newer mephones are barely “feeling” at all, unlike 4.

Basically, 

Cobs: i have engineered a machine that is functionally a person

Everyone: you fucked up a perfectly good phone is what you did. Look at him. He’s got ptsd. 

Not to get too into ii16/17, but they basically recontextualized the entire series and made what we initially thought about mephone’s escapist tendencies and origins a million times worse. Bro was so tormented he subconsciously made his OCs come to life 😭😭😭all while projecting all his issues onto them??? Psychologically sound individual activities. Additionally, the way he was created is also. Terrible. Cobs basically invaded an alien planet, kidnapped an alien kid, and then presumably used its energy to create mephone4. Outer space colonization? In MY object show? yes!

Ok now im just gonna talk about random stuff i like about him  

His powers are so cool.,.,,. Esp as a foil to cobs/mephonex, who could represent destruction, he represents creation with his generation ability. Also something abt using his powers for non violent reasons when his creation was built upon violence uhh idk. And I think the screen turning green and the sound effect is very satisfying dlsjkfg. Oh and the fact that he canonically had to practice to get better at it? In the flashbacks he’s shown having trouble generating even a simple tree, and now he can make pretty much anything with minimal effort. 

Also MeLife, which allows him to bring contestants back from the dead, is an ability unique to him, which is super cool!!

He can create portals as well and this is never explained. He can just suddenly do it KDLJFGH this kind of renders Mepad’s teleportation ability useless but it's still fun. 

I like when he uses his face as an actual screen :)

Something something robot related stuff

He is not waterproof and will malfunction or even die when wet

His speaking function can be disabled by other people

Glitches while talking sometimes!! Delightful 

Something that gets overlooked often I think is the s1 finale, where mephone4S (mephone4's brother) basically killed himself to save mephone4 by downgrading his own OS. Technically, mephone isn’t even in his original body anymore, he’s inhabiting his brother’s. Fun!

this is unrelated but he got shot in the face with a gun once. there havent been any guns since unfortunately

okay so I have zero friends and I can’t keep talking to my sister about obx anymore or i’ll be talking her ears completely off so here are my unwanted opinions😭

1.) i’m actually enjoying this season more than s3. I genuinely can’t even go back and watch s3 bc everyone is so off and awkward. you can literally feel the tension through the screen. but in this season everything is wayyy better like it feels almost like s1 again again to me personally.

2.) idk if im feeling luke not being jj dad storyline…like it would make way more sense if luke was his uncle or way older brother or something but he was literally getting abused for no reason at all. Also it would have been better if in s3 luke would have said “im not your real dad jj” then left because tbh I forgot all about him until jj found him at that guys house😭. then jj getting the letter and finding luke would have been more intense. also I hated the part where luke was like “well isn’t it obvious?” like no?? not at all actually😭 even rudy said he was confused by this LMAO like it doesn’t make any sense to mess with jj’s character now when it’s about to end.

anyways my fault for the rant but I hope that makes sense like overall I just hate that luke abused jj for no reason but also the fact of how random it is. like i’ve seen almost everyone’s theory on how we did get hints throughout the show but none of them are adding up.

3.) this one is more for the fandom rather than the show. so as yall may or may not know im in love with rafe just as much as everyone else BUTTT I will not excuse all the shit he has done. everyone is making excuses and is mad at sarah for not speaking to him but are completely forgetting that he would their lives a living hell.

not only has he tried to kill sarah 3-4 times but has beat up pope what 3-4 times as well, beat up jj, killed peterkin, framed john b, stole and melted the cross. oh also tried to kill his dad I forgot about that.

like he’s not some saint because he’s hot, the reason why sarah won’t speak to him (or why all the pogues are scared of him) is all HIS fault and no one else’s (ward is part of the problem but in the end of the day he���s been grown since the start of season these were/are his own decisions)

yall are treating him as if he can do no wrong. he needs to truly prove himself to sarah if he wants his family back because his actions are unacceptable. like yall pitying him because he’s sadly looking at her at beach and their pictures together like please.. it’s laughable how yall just forgetting how insane he was.

4.) on a better note for rafe, im actually really loving him and sofia together but im not sure how long it will last. she’s obviously making a difference in his life and he’s listening to her BUT she did go behind his back about that deal. now im wondering if she will tell him and they “break up” (he said they are just hooking up) or she goes through with it anyways because she did go back on her word after he signed the paper.

anyways back to sofia and rafe’s relationship, I think I love it because all of you writers on here got him so accurate it’s scary like yall got him down to the T😭

5.) if this is the last season I really hope they end it correctly and not abruptly or in any way that doesn’t give obx justice. like I don’t want it to be as rushed as it’s already been this season. I don’t even know how they’d end it like it’s not some story you can just end tbh😭 I just want everyone happy, they’ve all gone through so much.

6.) my fault one more I thought of is the rumor… I swear if jj dies because of this stupid ass curse im canceling my subscription like immediately.

i need to say that i love finally getting to see rafe in a relationship because he's so different from his psycho self and i would've expected it to be that way but i just love finally seeing it canon.

plus i do have to say all the changes that he is having this season i won't just attribute them to the fact that he is in a relationship with sofia but also because ward is dead.

not having ward allowed him to just be him does that make sense? because he was so focused on making him proud he didn't care how much harm he could make i mean he killed peterkin, almost killed his own sister anywaaaaay redemption era arc i love to see it.

Ok Jesus I need a minute but wow... lots to unpack here (almost as much to unpack as Taylor and Buck now that they're stuck together).

Everyone who thought this would be the end of BT... wow can't believe we got Madney breakup instead that was not how I saw this going!! Also I think it's a very interesting insight into how lonely and afraid Taylor is that she basically admits she doesn't care if Buck cheats on her (like come on babes where's the self respect) as long as he like... comes home to her??? Straight up "I don't need to know that you kissed someone else" like what???? Taylor sweetie you deserve better. They're both just so scared of being alone again that they wont give up even though neither of them are happy.

Albert!!!!! That's my Boy I love him and the way he just straight up admits that the job is hard and he doesn't know how to get through the day sometimes his emotional maturity is better than literally anyone else's in this show.

The morning light shone brightly in my eyes and forced me awake, shit how long were we out for? It didn’t feel like all that long, granted time doesn’t feel real when anyones asleep. Sitting up I glanced down at Eddie who was still fast asleep on the forest floor. He’s always so pretty when he sleeps, especially with how his hair fans out and makes it look like it’s floating. I reached a hand down gently to stroke his cheek and jumped a little when one of his came to hold my hand. Even asleep he can’t stop being adorable. Wait, we had a plan for getting a walkie-talkie last night, right, the contraction site.

As much as I would love to admire him sleeping more only he knew where the site was, so I gently shook his shoulder.

“Baby, it’s morning, we gotta get the walkie remember?” He groaned at me and turned over, two can play at that game Munson. Flipping Eddie onto his back I straddled his hips to prevent him from moving again. “That groan was really cute babe, but you’re not getting out of this, wake up little prince.” I gently pressed a few kisses to his lips to help wake him up.

“Well isn’t this a lovely sight to wake up to.” God why did his morning voice have to be so hot.

“Mhm and while I would love to stay like this for a while we have something to steal.” With a couple pops in my joints here and there I stood up and got off Eddie and helped him up.

“How far is this place again? A couple miles south?” Leaning on one of the larger rocks I stretched out my arms.

“Yeah last time I checked, the skull's face was pointing East, so we need to go… this way.” As he began walking I followed quietly behind, still just a bit too tired for all this shit. And surprisingly Eddie hadn’t lost all his marbles and we came across a construction site filled with busy people.

“What’s the game plan now? How are we gonna get one of those walkies off someone?” Squatting down next to Ed’s he was clearly thinking about the best way to snag one.

“Hey, notice how they all leave their walkies outside the porta-potty? I’m thinking, we wait till mostly everyone is really working and not paying attention, snag it off that pile of lumber, and sprint back to skull rock. Thoughts?” Looking over at him the only thought I had was ‘holy shit im dating the worlds best criminal’.

“Alright then, do you want me to grab it? I think I'm a bit quicker.” Nodding his head Eddie looked over at me again.

“Yeah, you grab it and if we need to I’ll be the distraction.” With the plan set we just had to wait for the right moment, fortunately we didn’t need to wait long.

“Hey, I'm gonna take my 15.” One of the workers called to the foreman.

“Didn’t you just take one?” Shrugging his shoulders the worker continued his way to the porta-potty and just like all the others did he left his walkie on the pile of lumber right next to it.

“Alright, wish me luck.” Nervously glancing one last time at Eddie he flashed me a smile with a thumbs up. Carefully sneaking down behind the porta-potty I moved to the side slowly and grabbed the walkie before sprinting right back to the tree line. Signaling to Eddie to also start running we began sprinting back to skull rock.

Once we made it back there was a good couple minutes we took to catch our breaths. Tuning the radio to the proper channel I pressed down on the button to radio anyone.

“Hey is anyone there, we got caught at the lake and we’ve moved spots, we’re at skull rock now. Please for the love of fuck bring food, and a plan.” Letting go I threw the walkie down next to Eddie. “And now we wait.”

Well over an hour later Steve and Dustin popped through the trees and came over to us.

“See Henderson? Told ya so.” Steve being the cocky guy he is pointed at the skull rock shaped rock sitting above me and Eddie.

“That’s not possible, North is this way.” And Dustin just glanced up and down at his compass to the rock to where “north” was.

“So is there food? We kinda didn’t have time to grab everything at the boat house, ya know with a whole basketball team chasing us.” Eddie’s sass was perfectly timed to break Dustin from his trance for just a moment to look for Nancy, Max and Robin who were carrying a couple bags.

Shortly after the other three made it over, Dustin began to explain his theory with the portals.

“Aha! I was right, this is North from the trail!” His outburst caught Steve’s attention.

“Really? Cause according to your compass North is that way.” Harrington then pointed to the direction that was closer to the East than anything else.

“Yes, but no, Lucas! Why would a compass not point to true North.” Being thrown into the spotlight Lucas panicked for a second before responding.

“There’s a stronger magnetic field around?” Dustin was happy someone remembered something.

“Yes! And we know the gates generate a very strong magnetic field, meaning, somewhere that way, is a gate.” A few others looked confused.

“But we’re nowhere near Hawkins lab.” Nancy chimed in.

“No that way is Lovers Lake, we sprinted up that way.” Trying to figure out what Dustin was getting at I explained our escape from last night.

“Well, think about it, whenever the demogorgon attacked it left a gate, the same with the mind flayer, what if Vecna also leaves gates where he takes victims?” And finally Henderson was making some sense.

“Patrick got Vecna’d there last night, if Dustin’s right, there’s a gate in Lover’s Lake.” Eddie finally began to piece it all together.

“Wait, do you know when he got killed?” Nancy asked Ed’s.

“Yep, I fell in last night and the Walkie bugged out, but so did my watch, here.” Taking off his watch, Eddie threw it over to Nancy.

“9:27, the same time our flashlights blew up. So that surge of energy that trashed all the lights was Vecna attacking Patrick.” Drawing conclusions to connect everything Nancy threw Ed’s watch back to him.

“So to Lover’s Lake it is.”

Your feet are hardly touching the floor as you float through the packed mall. You make your way around a slow walking group of friends, annoyed by their lack of movement.

It was supposed to snow today. That’s what your phone had told you, anyway. There was no way in hell you were missing this.

You curse yourself as you nearly stumble into an elderly couple. A quick bow and apology and you’re on your way.

Please, hold on a little bit longer!

Everyone knew what the implications of the first snowfall held. Especially watching it with a potential significant other. . People had been arranging dates with one another since the first mention of snow this coming winter. Shyly approaching their crush to suggest the action. Blushing at the thought of staying together throughout the season. True love blossoming in their hearts as they did so. 

One glance at the pile of people near the elevator and you decide to take the stairs instead.

You yourself were not immune to the giddy thought. Nor the countless boys who’d ask to spend the day with you. Coming up to you during lunch or in between classes and letting a cheesy line slip out of their mouths and into your ears. Regretful grimaces found their way onto both parties’ faces when you turned them down as best you could without hurting their feelings. 

You weave your way through the people in the mall’s food court. Nearly sending someone’s tray of food to the floor. This time though, you have no time to bow. Rather, you shout an apology as they glare back at you. 

Your friends would complain to you about your efforts to turn potential lovers away. You, however, knew it was all worth it when Gu Seung-joon, the pretty boy with long hair from class 2-3, had asked to spend the day with you. He had walked up to you at the bus station after school, making conversation when he suddenly asked if you had anybody to spend the upcoming weekend with. One you both knew could potentially hold the first snowfall. 

“I’m always free!”

The words came out awkwardly loud before you could give them any thought. His lips only quirked up as he told you, ‘perfect’ and pulled out his phone for you to type your number into.

Now, you were pushing at the glass doors of the entrance as you rushed to find him. The day was getting cloudy and your nerves rose as the temperature fell. You felt your phone buzz in your pocket and you scrambled to unlock it. 

Unfortunately for you--or maybe not--at this very moment, Seojun had been chasing after Jugyeong, who was running from both him and Suho. All of your attention was held by your phone. Which you had now unlocked and were frantically typing out a response to Seung-joon’s message. 

So frantically so, that you don’t notice the sidewalk ahead of you that had buckled where the two large rectangles met. You fail to pick up your foot in time and stumble as it hits the risen sidewalk. A puff of air releases itself from your chest as Seojun’s frame crashes into yours, making your phone hit the concrete hard. 

The collision is so harsh, in fact, that it nearly sends both of you to the ground with it. Instinctively, his hands wrap around your body, clutching onto you for balance. Your hands come up clumsily to his chest, shaking as you do the same. They end up on his shirt, absent-mindedly gripping him closer. 

You can feel his breath on your skin as he attempts to regain it. You wonder for a second if he can feel how hard your heart is beating. Your eyes meet and you think that maybe you’ve bumped into each other all over again. Bodies pummeling together once more. Your heart leaps up to your throat and skips a beat or two. His eyes flicker between both of yours. You search your brain for words but come up blank. His adam apple bobs.

You had recognized him. Of course you had, you were in the same class after all. Even in his absence, you never failed to spot him at any of Gowoon’s performances. Regardless of what part she sang. Being in the school’s choir granted you the opportunity of encountering him at such performances. He’d stand there, waiting for her to come off the stage. Usually with a bouquet of flowers and a flashy smile. Embracing Gowoon with one arm and holding the flowers with the other. The flowers grew in quantity with every new song his sister sang. So much so that Gowoon took it upon herself to pass out single flowers to those she deemed worthy. 

You’ll never forget the day Seojun came up to you, holding a light red carnation in hand, cheeks rosy. Complementing the flower. It was the lightest one he could find. Not quite pink but a softer, more dull red.

“Gowoon wanted you to have this,” he sounded annoyed but the heat in his face said otherwise. You simply nodded as you took the flower from his fingers.

“Give her my thanks, will you?” 

When you went home that evening, you couldn’t help your fingers’ gliding as they typed into google “what do carnations mean?” Your curiosity had gotten the best of you. Heat arose in your body when you became aware of the meaning behind them. He had filled all of your thoughts for the rest of that week.

Not to mention that, recently, he had been the talk of the whole school. You couldn’t help it. Rumours had spread about him and Jugyeong; In a love triangle with Suho and the girl, secretly dating, given up his motorcycle for her. You had even heard that he gotten himself into a street fight with a gang leader to keep her safe. You hadn’t paid them much attention until now. Information about him piling into your brain all at once. 

Seojun, however, couldn’t say the same about you. He had no clue who you were or why you seemed so familiar. Didn’t stop the butterflies he felt in his stomach, though. They fluttered up into his throat, making it close up. His usual quick-witted self gone. All he could do was stare at you as he furiously attempted to shove the bugs back down so he could breathe once more. All that came to mind was how nicely your jacket collar framed your face. 

The two of you observe the other, both thinking the exact same thing. Why had you bumped into each other now? And why was the person holding you close so pretty? Granted, the latter applied mostly to Seojun. You force yourself out of the trance. 

Before you can spit out apologetic words, though, something white floats down from the air and lands on his cheek, right below his slender eye. Your eyes follow the substance as it melts and slides down his skin. Your mouth is motionless as another snowflake kisses his nose. Then another in his hair. The opposite cheek. And another on his top lip, where your eyes linger for a little too long. 

When the wet matter finally falls on your own skin, you’re hit with the realization that it’s snowing. Your eyes go up, your chin following, and as does his. Once again, air leaves your lips. This causes Seojun’s gaze to fall onto them. When your eyes connect with his again, there is no denying the disappointment in his face. No doubt your expression mirrors his. 

The two of you come to an unspoken understanding then that neither of you had planned to be in this situation with one another. It happened, though, and there was no denying the fact.

He blinks when he realizes how long the two of you have been intertwined. Drawing his gaze anywhere but you, his hands unwind themselves from your waist. He clears his throat and sticks his hands in his pockets when he can’t find a comfortable position. You suddenly become aware of your own hands, still grasping his shirt. You drop them quickly and wipe the sweat from them on your pants. Regardless of how cold your hands feel on your thighs. 

“I’m sorry,” the sorrow in your voice causes his head to look at you. Genuine remorse fills both of you. You aren’t apologizing for bumping into him. 

His relationship with Jugyeong was complicated, you knew that much. It wasn’t hard to tell that he liked her by the way he stared at her when he thought no one else was looking. The way worry filled his chest whenever she seemed upset. The jealousy flaring in his nostrils when she gravitated towards Suho. The giddy that filled his voice when they teased each other. Or even when his pink lips pulled into a smile at the mention of her. Not that you had meant to stare. Honestly, how could you not notice when he was so devastatingly obvious about it?

Okay, fine. Maybe you had a small crush on Seojun. To be fair, though, everyone had a crush on Seojun at some point. He was handsome and charming. People were drawn to him. You figured you should probably get over him at some point, but it was difficult to do so considering how hard it is to avoid him. Even as you began to notice his infatuation for the new girl, your heart fluttered whenever you’d spot him in the audience of a performance. Sometimes, you’d even go the extra mile to look cute just to see if he would say anything. See if he handed you a dark red carnation this time. 

He never did, and while your heart ached at the thought, you had gained the attention of other boys. Other boys like Seung-joon. Seung-joon, who had been waiting for you in the cold to watch the snow together. Seung-joon who had actually chosen you over anyone in his class. No, anyone in the entire school. And yet, here you were, feet stuck to the ground awaiting Seojun’s response. One you knew you’d be disappointed by, but still eagerly listened for it. 

He glances over your shoulder. His jaw clenches. You can’t help but turn your head in the direction. You see what he’s staring at. A good few feet behind you, stand Im Jugyeong and Ru Hyung Jin, the baseball player, holding hands as they watch snow hit the cold ground. 

When you look back at him, he sighs loudly and looks to the floor. 

“Don’t be,” an eyebrow goes up and you take note of the disheartened tone in his voice. It’s harmonious. As if he’s singing a song. Air gliding through his vocal cords to create the sound that reaches your ears. 

His eyes look you up and down as he takes you in. You’ve now put a good distance between you two. Letting the snow fill the space.

“Are you okay?” 

Are you okay?

Your head shakes ‘no’ and he almost looks worried for a second.

“I’m not hurt,” your words are careful. His eyes narrow in curiosity. 

Before he can say anything else, though, your phone buzzes from on the sidewalk. Which was now turning dark gray as more snow dampened it. Your phone lays dead center between the two of you, your case stares back at you. Like it’s waiting to see who will make the first move. You feel as if your phone mocks you, like it had planned this. Planned to ring right as Seojun was racing in your direction. The cause for the crash. Have your mind revert back to when your silly crush was all you could think of. Right when you had seemingly gotten over it. 

Fear rushes your body as you think of the damage caused to the screen. Both you and Seojun crouch down at the same time to grab it. Hands brushing as you reach it, fingers ghosting over one anothers. You look up at him and he does the same. His eyes are piercing and intimidating. Right then they widen, and his eyebrows quickly flash up as he takes you in. Almost as if he recognizes you. Light catches on his earrings and the sound of them dangling snaps you out of your thoughts. 

You take the phone from his hand and get up as fast as you can. You bow as soon as you’re standing straight, settling for silence rather than risking something stupid coming out of your mouth. 

He stands and watches as you walk off. His eyes don’t move even when you glance back at him over your shoulder. Your buzzing phone rings through the air and you regretfully pick up a call from Seung-joon. He asks you where you are and you finally turn away from Seojun. Whose teeth are gritted, hissing through them when he sees you run off.

Theories about S4 Cliffhanger

Okay so we know the finale is going to hang on a big cliffhanger so I wanted to go through some of my theories (will probably add to this as well, feel free to add your own!)

1. Ladynoir conflict doesn't get resolved and instead we get Adrien relinquishing his miraculous because he has also discovered he's a sentibeing and can't be a hero.

I spoke more about this theory here but yeah this is the darkest timeline.

2. Marinette confesses and Adrien rejects her and we are left with the biggest sad face ever

self explanatory, my children being heartbroken would hurt meeeeee

3. Ladybug tells Chat about how she revealed her identity and he is really sad but to help him she explains why he can't reveal to her but says he can reveal to someone else, someone who can support him. Initially Adrien considered Nino but remember Rocketear and then is afraid Nino will hate him, so he thinks about the one person who he was able to talk to and be honest and made him feel like he mattered and could help and was really reliable and he really should have gone to her all along and so...he reveals himself to marinette and we fade to black

i'm a sucker for half reveals and i would love to see how future episodes might deal with marinette leanring about this in addition to all the other stuff adrien has been through, though it might be too similar to the ephemeral reveal so i don't know. the difference here is it's marinette and she might have different worries about revealing herself, perhaps something like i hurt him too much and im afraid i'll hurt him more but idk

4. Felix has a hold of the peacock miraculous and shows his true colors as being a more conniving and fearsome foe...or friend?

this seems likely anyways given gloob's spoilers but not sure how much of a cliffhanger this would be unless....

5. Sentiadrien confirmed at the very end by Gabe doing something like asking if Adrien knows who Chat Noir is and then he just says yes.

if sentiadrien is actually a thing i think we will find out either in the finale or at the start of s5, so i can see it being a huge cliffhanger, but i think in order for the heroes to win adrien needs to discover before his father can get to him which leads me to what i really want to happen...

6. Felix gets the peacock and puts it on, and is able to sense that Adrien is a sentibeing too. He shows and tells Adrien and together they team up to take down Mothman in the next season

alternatively he could just tell him but maybe he wants proof. this is what i want to happen but also i love felix as a villain so i am torn

7. Marinette gives up the guardianship and loses her memories

ngl this hurts me more than sentiadrien but i've heard folks discuss this. for me i'd rather explore this next season after the reveal because i feel like it could be an interesting dynamic to see in an established-relationship setting. i think i'd prefer this as a late s5 plot point or even put it in s6.

Here she is.. My masterpost of all the dumb, illogical bits of info contained within these s15 “leaks” that make me fairly confident they are complete bullshit. It also includes my little tinhat theories that have absolutely no evidence.

I will be putting it all under a Readmore in case you don't want to risk it or if you simply Do Not Care

First up, I'd like to point out that these call sheets repeatedly give very detailed backstories to characters that have few lines which conveniently paints a picture of each episode's plot. And I'm not an expert so correct me if I'm wrong, but after looking at other similar casting calls, they only ever include the demographic and necessary skills.

Basically who in their right mind would write up casting calls that give away so many spoilers? Seems like that could cause and issue if they were leaked lol. But anyway that's my 1st point. But onto the actual content

So the conceit of this episode as a whole is that during the pandemic, the gang "gamed the system" and received three (3!) Loans to start businesses that went bankrupt. One of these businesses is implied to be the one started by dee and charlie who end up selling to Qanon shaman. Already this is so impossible baby.

1. We've already seen the gang try to get a loan and it didn't work. They don't have good ideas. Ur telling me, they managed to finagle 3 separate loans for 3 separate business ideas from an actual bank?

2. Maybe I just have bad reading comprehension but how does one have a business that is both fictitious and bankrupt?

3. If the customer is supposed to be Qanon shaman, an actual real life guy, why are the only descriptors white and male? They say he's shirtless so are they going to paint on all of the tattoos he has? And if so, doesn't that kind of ruin the dramatic reveal when charlie "throws in" the viking helmet? Why would he do that anyways? Sus.

Moving on

Alright this episode would fucking blow for obvious reasons but im going to refrain from looking at this through my gay dennis thruther lens because im biased.

Purely from a narrative standpoint, a woman hasn't been shown to be interested in dennis in nearly 5 years during the wade boggs episode. Ever since, every single woman he approaches has been actively creeped out by him. And now I'm supposed to believe that 3 "smart, passionate woman" (In Their Twenties!!!!!!) agreed to go on a date with him? And Anna even slept with him! Just because he what? Agreed with her? I'm not buyin it.

Plus the concept of this scenario lacks any potential for comedy. When iasip gets political, they always discuss a very specific topic using hyperbolic situations and flawed metaphors. If this is supposed to be a political episode, what ultimately lukewarm point would rob be trying to make here? So far we know they're ranting about

Socialism

No more personal responsibility(?)

The... nature of power in society(??)

How on earth would an episode like get approved? This shit sounds like a Ted talk. It sounds like it was written specifically to sound like a political episode so boring and pointless it would generate outrage and mile long essay posts from Tumblr users and reddit users alike. Ok now we're starting to getting into the Ireland of it all. Let me go on a bit of a tangent here about all this.. Now I thinq there are just 3 possibilities. Either this is all a publicity stunt and there is some truth to the Ireland rumors, the entire thing could be bogus from some weirdo fan (ps, if a fan did write this I want you to know I fucking hate you. You did this to me), or it is a publicity stunt but Ireland is just more bullshit.

I am going to assume it was a publicity stunt, otherwise I just wasted my entire evening and I can't have that kind of mentality rn. Additionally, I'm Going to tinhat here for a second and say that the Ireland rumors are true, but the details are different.

I say this because if they were going to do filming in Ireland, they probably figured that that information would be impossible to hide. In essence, my completely unfounded hypothesis is that this leak was their fucked up little way of controlling the situation while simultaneously messing with us.

Ok tangent is over, returning to the casting calls. From the looks of it, dee starts a "scam" acting class and has some very devoted students (Note that Tony was also the name of the porn shop owner. Seems weird!) Presumably after the gang replaces her with a monkey as the title suggests.

Honestly, there isn't too much here that's a red flag to me... seems like a nice little dee-centric episode that is the link to the Dublin angle. Assuming I am At All right, this could be a genuine plotline for Dee. However, the monkey could be a red herring and there could be a whole different side plot with the guys. who's to say. Next one!

Ah yes this is the dennis we all know and despise.. no red flags for me here really, I'm also running out of steam because idk if it shows, but I am majorly sleep deprived atm. Anyway I'm going to the next one

Okay this is where things start getting weird again ough a migraine just hit, anyway back to my earlier point about how casting calls would never contains major spoilers bc the people who see these wont be under any kind of NDA..

These ones reveal that bonnie dies. Again, that info wouldn't be in a casting call.

But also they suggest charlie has a irish penpal named Shelley who is his biological father. First off charlie is illiterate, although as pointed out by @undeadbreeze shelley could also be communicating in symbols. However, this scenario is still unbelievable to me for a couple reasons:

1. Bonnie's last name is Kelly obviously, and we know it's her maiden name because Jack's last name is also Kelly. But Shelley's last name is... also Kelly? In the context of this big ol hoax, it feels like it was written to show that look! his last name is the same as charlie's! That's how you know that's his dad! But It would be way too big of a coincidence if charlie's dad happened to have the same last name bonnie.

And 2. There's the whole mystery of charlie's long-lost sister from 'charlie got molested' but never any mention of a brother which according to this, shelley has been pretending to be his brother for years. And we all know how much rcg loves their continuity, it seems uncharacteristically lazy to just tack this on without any prior buildup.

And finally let me talk about mac for a second and specifically the line in gus's summary "both are gay men who are attracted to the priesthood for all the wrong reasons"

Iasip has commented on pedophilia in the priesthood many times in the past which leads me to believe that they are implying that mac is a pedophile? Please let me know if I completely misread the implications of that statement, but if not, then that is completely insane and one of the biggest indictators that this is fake. Mac is awful, just like everyone in the gang but he is definitely not a pedophile.

However even if i did completely misread that, it's still proof this is fake.. For all his faults, Rob put a surprising amount of care and effort into mac's coming-out. It hasn't been perfect, but Mfhp in particular firmly established that mac's faith is integral to his identity so Its unlikely that rob would throw all of that away for a cheap shot at priests.

Ok my brain is irradiated sludge at this point, but in conclusion. I hope that 1. I'm right, at least about it being fake (Otherwise damb that'll be so humiliating for me) And 2. This eases ur fears a bit. I don't want to lose all faith in future seasons bc I love iasip and miss the gang. I mean, this manhwa is a GEM. I can’t even begin to describe this because everything about it blew me away. This is not something you read when you are craving for fluff, or just wanna have something brainless after a hard day at work or if you just wanna have some eye candy lol. This is something you pick up on a weekend, when you have time, because you need those hours to digest, appreciate, clutch your chest, tear a little because you find yourself falling in love with these characters. It doesn’t have any of that cliche isekai, romance, revenge themes going on. It has a solid plot, backed by incredible characters, beautifully woven by the authors and artist with incredible pacing that keeps you on your toes and keeps you looking forward to the next chapter. Maybe I would have been happier if I found it after it was completed lol. HAVE I CONVINCED YOU ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU WANNA READ IT?! like, idk, just go. JUST GO READ IT GDI. 

p.s. it says there romance but naaaaaaah, dont go in with that expectation. :) this story is so much more than that.

Anyhoo, there is nothing typical about this time travel plot. Sure, she goes back to try to undo the stuff that went wrong but phew, she certainly changed things so much everything that comes her way have made it so her previous experiences can hardly help aaaaaaand that’s what makes it fun! I sometimes wish the pacing could be a little more consistent, and there could be more characters I could love a little more wholeheartedly (so i wont have to be in so much despair when i read this sometimes lol) but omg the art, isn’t it pretty?! I’ve re-read this soooooo many times but the art blows me away all the time. And have I already mentioned how much I love her?! I LOVE YOU SHULI! AND I WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY!

okay, tbh, by the time i reached 10, i still have like 15 other series i was considering LMAO. i even considered lengthening this top 10 to top 15. but that would just be more of me and my nonsense. so... why did i choose this?

COS I LOVE THE 2 MCs!!! they’re adorable. the plot is again, kinda far-fetched at times (i literally laugh my head off at some parts) but it’s isekai-reincarnation okay! anything is possible in whatever magical crap country you end up in! lol. and i like how straightforward it is... in the sense there’s no 2nd lead. like okay i mean they are there but we all know they have no chance. oops. sorry!

and cos i can’t give up on the other titles i have, imma just list them down, without pictures... cos im tired. HA.

Kudos to the huge improvement in art style lmao. The good... lovable MCs, engaging plot. The bad... sometimes lengthy, incredulous medical moments (i work in the medical field so i... idk. sometimes this borders on iryu LMAO and i need to remind myself this is romance) otherwise, this is a highly highly entertaining read.

This is like a lesser version of Ebony and Bring the Love combined HAHAHA. The plot and premise is great and it’s awesome to marathon! I don’t find myself loving the MC as much as I should but the ML is a darling! I just find her a little toooooooo gloomy. Like come on girl, be more spunky!

Sometimes I wonder if I should be ranking this higher but I kinda feel this manhwa is trying to achieve too much with an underpowered MC. I love her... but I just don’t like how she’s just a pawn of everyone else and I dont know how she can change this situation of hers. It’s cute though. the MC and ML.  and the ML reminds me so much of american/jap Mackenyu.

Lady to Queen - It’s a ruthless manhwa. There was a point i started reading all sorts of sadistic content (i was running out of content i swear) and this was one of the better ones. I appreciate the MC very much. the plot now is a little weird and im a bit wary of the MC’s sister... hopefully the ML can be more useful. he’s pitiful though. but dude come on, dont rely on the wrong gal.

Goodbye, In-law - I’m not sure if i like the current progress buuuuuuut MC and ML are cute so who cares.
