wish there was a non rude way to be like "I understand your criticism, I don't even necessarily disagree with it, but I am doing these things on purpose, because I like them and I want to, and therefore your opinion has no value, because you might think me painting a room entirely pink is tacky, but I did it on purpose"

#this person is just wasting their time trying to get me to understand things i already understand #like yes im not stupid i just dont agree #but they havent been rude #well beyond the inherent rudeness of sending paragraphs of concrit #and some language choices that i didnt love #i deleted the fiest bc of the uncomfy language #and then this most recent one just because it exhausted me and i didnt find it valuable #but sometimes people dont need to be condescended at or indulged #and idk what the middle is there #this is your grandma talking

I've said this before but it's extremely interesting that as soon as somebody says a humanoid/nonhuman character is a race that isn't white all of a sudden we're "applying race to a character that doesn't have or need one" but when you lot are interpreting the characters as white nobody says anything 😭 stop believing white is the default and shut the fuck up

ngl, the more I think about it, the more I feel conflicted over how people sexualize my characters.

On the one hand, it would be silly to deny that I don't go out of my way to create aesthetically pleasing/attractive characters because I love to draw what I enjoy, and I love it when people simp for them.

But on the other hand, sometimes it does bother me that people are so fixated on sex and their own arousal that they miss important lore/plot information that I get a bit frustrated

#txt #i dont really mind that people missed the fact that powers had horns but i do have issues with people thinking the scene would lead up to #sex??? lili had a very clearly shocked face but people were expecting them to just. have sex and fall in love #twitter and instagram is pretty respectful to my works but i think webtoons and especially tiktok (good lord tiktok) is where people are #just. like they're not even paying attention because they wanna fuck my ocs lol #its a lot of work to try to give these incredibly short comics decent pacing and dialogue and it sucks when people ignore gestures or #verbal communication because they saw powers muscled chest and went 'oh yeah. its sex time'#i started posting my bugtopia comics to tiktok and these people are so goddamn obsessed with sexualizing everything that i read comments #where people were expecting arachne to peg her FOUR YEAR OLD SON #and its like. hey guys. im glad you enjoy my work but i dont like how you cannot perceive my characters as anything #but something to whack off to #anyways i dont see myself discussing this on twitter because unfortunately people have 0 fucking reading comprehension lol #to this day i get rude messages accusing me of hating people who enjoy lesbian media or finding my characters hot #because i asked people to not call me a fucking f*ggot when i draw to men kissing

Danny parents think he vapes. They don't mention it originally because they where 14 once and atleast he's not smoking...BUT his ghost sence inevitably gose off in the house.

Suddenly Danny's parents sit him down for a serious conversation and dannys panicking because he thinks he's been caught and then just:

Danny: *looking terrified*

Maddie: we know, sweetie

Danny: *panic intensifies*

Jack: and before you say anything, your not in trouble

Danny: I'm not??

Maddie: no, sweetie. Obviously we can't say we approve but...I'm sure you have your reosens

Danny: *nearly ready to cry* I...I do...

Jack: we understand you must be stressed but Danno, you can't just vape in the house

Danny: ...

Danny: wait, what?

Maddie: we're not gonna force you to stop, sweetheart, but um-

Jack: but you have to treat it the same you would smoking.

Danny: 0.0

This leads to hyjinx where Danny's ghost sence gose off and now he has to escape a lecture from whichever parent was present like 'Danny, what did we say about vapeing etiquette?' and 'Danny, this is not an appropriate place for that!' But on the hole, it dose save him some explanation when it gose off when there out. Even offers opertunity to leave situations when his mother insists that if he must do that right now, he should go find the smoking aria.

Eventually Danny dose start carrying a 0% Vape pen because the excuse is convenient as he gets older. People are very willing to let him just wander off if it's under the guse of hopping out for a vape and dismissive of him comeing back looking a little dazed. They assume he just over did it a little. Happens to the best of us.

honestly. it doesn't stop being creepy and uncomfortable just because it's your parents saying it. if anything it makes it even more creepy.

#like obviously parents are allowed to have opinions on how their kids look thats normal #but theres a difference between having an opinion and treating your kid like theyre your property/an extension of you #and phrasing is important #like i wouldnt mind if my dad said 'speaking as a man men will find you less attractive if you dress/look like this'. respectfully i dont #care but i appreciate the well meaning advice i guess. whereas saying 'you shouldnt dress like this it makes you look bad. im a man so i #know what men like and you dont look like it.' is just rude. and a bit creepy.
