Anwyay so harper and feena started when @thatbiblicallyaccuraterat asked me to draw a silly guy eating monster much and he turned into harper (ill link some pictures to show) and he felt lonely so i made him a friend called feena and theyve been a thibg since then HOLY SHIT I THINK ITS BEEN 2 YEARS?????

Harper and feena r supposed to be my silly ocs that are my go toos when i start daydreaming and drawing! Their not supoosed to have too much trauma and stuff (IM CONTAINING MYSELF) so i camt head empty and harper its also so when i draw them they make me happy they are my happyness. So becazue i cant give them trauma i make altermate realitoes where i CAN give them trauma!!

Im gonna make sections so i caj explain everthing so it can atleast try to make sense

1. THEIR RELATIONSHIP :3

Ok so when i started I made them friends ofc!! And i thought they where cool as hell so i started thinking about their relationship and i was thinking how wierd it would feel if they where a couple so their thing is that their completely platonic and are jist realy close friends that are realy comfortable with each other, i wouldnt say like 'siblings' but more like that one cousin that your realy close with. I like to think of them as denji and power from chainsaw man (however i see denji and power as more of siblings) but no matter how close they get with eachither they dont feel anything romantic :3 i have a thing that when they where 14/15 they where like fuck it lets kiss and they hated it!!!!! they wanted to die!!!!!

I also have different ages for them i draw them as for whatever mood im in! So i have toddler harper and feena (theyve met in primary school) and then children harper and feena (10-12) and then theres also teen (14-16) and preadult idk forgot what its called (17-19) and adult! (20-22) by 20-22 they have an appartment with 2 other roomates nadia and caspian i dont realy have a story for them yet however they do have designs. So basically they jsut spend their entire lives together as besties and this is their main world where their happy and have no trauma and are just silly!!

2. Sexualities n stuff

Well im nor good at this stuff since i realy have no kmowledge but i kinda just peojected me and @thatbiblicallyaccuraterat onto them...

Harper:

Bisexual, he/they. Dyslexic and/or is on the autism spectrum idk i dont think much about this

Feena:

Aro/ace or Asexual i havent decided, goes by anything. I honestly dont even know she is any and all illnesses

3. Childhood and all

So i dont wanna give them a traumatic childhood since their my silly chracters!!

HOWEVER, they do have some sort of backstories.

Feena:

Some sort of religious trauma, her family where 100% praise our lord and saviour jesus christ and she didnt feel part. Knew what she was when she was a teen and after harper came out and was more comfortable. Didnt tell her parents until she moved out, (they very obviously didnt take it well) however is still in touch with them!! Their just kinda realy uncomforable whenever the subject changes to jesus or gay stuff idk.

Harper:

Twas a bit (a lot) stupider than most people his age (austismmmmm) his parents payed more attention to their sisters so that they could have a better education instead of wasting their time on a child thatll never learn and refuses to listen (wasnt diagnosed till he was an adult so they thought he was being annoying purposefully). Tbh just whats a hug LMAO. He came out to his parents, they told him it was just a phase and theylll get out of it eventually.

4. The cats need their own section

So ive always eanted these 2 cats, one called jester one called mariposa. So if i cant have them whats better than having my oc that represents me having them?

5. Universes

Like i said since i dont want harper and feena to have too much trauma i create new universes for them! Other than my main ailly one theres another 3 i favour out of all the ones i make

1. I made a dystopian after apocolypse one (MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE ITS SO FUN TO MAKE!!) where the aftermath is that the world (well at leats where their living) is split into two, the privlidged and less priveledged (I NEED NAMES FOR THESE I DONT HAVE ANY) anywwy what i think i can best decribe this as is like the hunger games, where theres the 'capitol' and the 'districts' but instead of there being districts its all just survival of the fittest L lmao so yah. So after the apocolypse harper and feena are split up. Feena ends up with the privileged and harper ends up with the less. Harper finds a place he can call 'home' (FOUNDFAMILYFOUNDFMILYFOUNDFAMILY) and feena ends up on the other side where she gets her memories wiped and she then hets brainwashed to belive she was sent down as a gift from god during hard times and everyone is supposed to worship her (tehe i wont bother yiu with any more of this story)

So basically feena can be smart when she wants to but chooses to fuck around with harper, quite a bitch if you guys just met. Pretty resereved when shes around people she doesnt know amd her social skills arent great. If you give her a chance she can be quite nice and passionate. Can ramble for hours on ends

Harper, guys hes trying his best. Loud, can ramble for hours on end too.

like....expecting white spaniards to give us a nuanced and proper representation of a muslim girl with a rich interior life that isnt steeped in stereotype is a tall order and anyone who didn’t see this coming is lying to themselves...

however, nadia grappling with her family’s expectations and her own desires and ambition is a good storyline. the assumption that guzman is the catalyst to her transformation is erroneous because she had no qualms about being  herself around him s1.....guzman did all the work and molded himself to fit in her world. its obvious that marina’s death shook her and prompted her to reevaluate her life and maybe she decided to take a page out of her siblings’ handbook and to throw caution to the wind and be a teen.

personally, i never went into this (terrible) show for representation: the thought of it is absurd because if its not a muslim woman at the helm, things will go awry. but im so over the limited western perspective on muslim female characters’ crucible being their faith and virtue when male muslim characters (re:omar) are afforded a breadth of characterization and storylines that are only tangibly tied to their faith. and considering this is all in service of nadia’s journey of self-discovery, bring .it .on.

okay so, the idea of letting Nikolai go is absurd to me. However, I can see how there could be some strains in a relationship with him.

if we remain in a canon situation, I'd say that the biggest thing that could come between you two up to the point of almost divorce is his ambition and dedication to Ravka

Nikolai is a strategist and the thing he wants more is seeing Ravka free and thriving and he'd do anything to make that a reality

so, he'd be plenty busy

busy to the point that you'd go months without seeing him

whether he's in Ravka working on his projects with David and Nadia or he's in another country on a diplomatic visit

of course, he has invented flying ships and all but those kinds of journeys still are long and tiring

however, since you are in the picture, I'd like to believe that Nikolai would try to find a balance between his country and his love

if not simply for the fact that he loves you and he loves being with you

if he's married you, there's a reason. right?

so, I feel like whenever he's back from a long trip away he'd take some time to spend it with you. First days in between the sheets and then doing some of your favourite things together.

just to spend some quality time with you

that's until he slips away more and more to take care of something

at first, it's a couple of hours before dinner

then he misses dinner entirely but spends the afternoon together

then only mornings together

until it comes the time you wake up and his side of the bed is cold

of course, you were aware of the life he led

his ambition and dedication were two of the things you loved most about him

but you missed him

he was gone so much that it didn't feel like a relationship anymore

it seemed like a free trial for widowhood

you had confronted him about this

many times

but he was still the King of Ravka and he had responsibilities he couldn't forfeit

and despite his best intentions, it seemed that they didn't match with his marriage

and you understood that. his role and the many things he had to take care of. really.

but you were tired of being alone a feeling unimportant

so, one day you decided to wait for him. Nikolai was the first to wake up and the last to fall asleep.

but that night, you waited for him. sat in your bed, hoping he'd come too late

when he did step into your room, he was surprised to see you awake. at first, he was delighted. he missed you too and the idea of being able to spend some time with you brought him endless joy

however, he soon noticed the expression on your face, your arms crossed on your chest and he understood that whatever reason had made you wait for him, wasn't anything good.

as much as it broke your heart to say the words, you told him what you had been thinking about for months now.

"this marriage is not working out for me anymore."

Nikolai's heart broke. truly shattered at your words.

he knew he'd be walking on a fine line and it was only a matter of time before you'd snapped again

but he never thought it'd come to this

Nikolai hated it. he hated the fact that he had been such a shitty husband that you now wanted to have nothing to do with him

he tried to change your mind, promised that he'd do better, that he loved you and you were his whole heart even though he'd done a shitty job to show you.

but you knew that despite his words were genuine, his promises were empty.

and you were simply done. you couldn't take any more of this.

when he understood that he had pushed you too far, Nikolai relented. He accepted your decision and told you that he'd take care of it.

in the meantime, you went away.

there was no reason for you to stay. you were alone anyway so staying just to sleep in the same bed as he felt ridiculous

the time apart was agonizing for both of you. unironically, knowing that he was just a few feet away made it easier for you to bear the loneliness. And Nikolai?

Well, he had forgotten how to function. The absence of your presence affected him more than he would have thought. To the point where he could only think of you and how he couldn't lose you. The divorce wasn't official yet and he was already miserable.

So he took some time off and he joined you.

Again, he asked for forgiveness. pleaded for you to give him a second chance and if not, to at least allowed him to spend the days before signing the papers together.

and you agreed. you agreed because you had missed him so much. because you still loved him.

those remaining days were spent in utter denial. neither of you acknowledged the truth of your situation but unspokenly decided to make the most of it.

and saints, it did nothing but remember why you had fallen in love with each other and decided to spend the rest of your lives together in the first place.

when the time was almost up, neither of you wanted for it to end.

but the problem remained: you couldn't go back to the same routine

but letting Nikolai go wasn't possible neither

so you talked to him. explained your reasons and your motives and that above all you loved him

he felt so much relief in knowing that there was still a tiny chance of making this right

he renewed his promises of being a better husband, of changing his work schedule so that he could be more present.

he had even handed you a sheet where he had drafted his new schedule and well, it was completely different

of course, you knew that there would be times where he'd be inevitably busier but as long as he made an effort, you'd be fine with it

and so you agreed, you gave him a second chance and you were proud to say that Nikolai was living up to his words

when you’re upset Asra always knows, even if you haven’t told him that something’s wrong

Asra understands that space is important for processing emotions so if you don’t want to talk to him he’ll go on a walk or down to the shop to give you space, sometimes he’ll run to the market to bring you pumpkin bread to make you feel better

he knows that if you don’t want to talk, you won’t, and that he needs to be patient with you but he just wants you to be happy so he’ll be glad when you finally decide to tell him how you’re feeling

Faust winds her way around your arm for emotional support if she can sense your distress

he always listens carefully when you decide to open up to him and he gives the best advice

Julian

when you get upset and refuse to talk Julian gets nervous

he’ll wrack his brain for anything he might’ve done or said that could’ve made you upset and he’ll try to apologize even if he can’t think of anything to apologize for

if you and Julian have been fighting, which doesn’t happen often, he gets more upset when you refuse to talk to him, he’d rather just have it out right then and there to resolve things

you’ll have to ask him to give you some space if you need it or he’ll just keep trying to figure out what’s wrong

after you’ve cooled down you’ll have to find him, he’s usually just in the next room pacing and worrying

he just wants to know how he can help, if you’re mad at him he wants to fix the problem, if you’re mad at someone else he wants to offer emotional support

at the end of the day Julian just wants you to know that he cares about you and that, like you’ve taught him, you don’t have to go through things alone

Nadia 

she knows when you’re upset but will wait for you to tell her that there's a problem, she cares about your feelings of course but she doesn’t have any patience for passive aggressive behavior

if you and Nadia are fighting she reacts in a similar way and the two of you give each other space until one of you feels like talking 

if you have something to say she wants to hear it but she won’t pull it out of you

she’s very solution oriented, if someone made you angry she wants to confront them, if the disagreement is between the two of you she wants to fix it, she usually offers advice first and emotional support later

when you’re feeling up to talking she’ll draw you a bath and wash your hair while she listens to you vent, she loves to pamper you to express how much she cares about you

Muriel

as a man of few words he understands not wanting to talk sometimes so he’ll never pry or push you to explain what’s wrong

if you eventually want to talk about what’s bothering you you’ll have to bring it up yourself, he doesn’t want to make you feel worse by asking what’s wrong

you and Muriel never fight but that doesn’t stop him from worrying that you’re upset at him when you start withdrawing

he’s a great listener and never interrupts or tries to solve your problems for you, he’ll gladly do what he can to help but he’s definitely more a form of emotional support

sometimes when you’re upset he’ll ask if you want to go on a walk, he knows how comforting being in nature is for him so he hopes it’ll help you too

if you agree he’ll walk with you through the woods, he might even hold your hand if you grab his first (and watching Muriel blush is an immediate cure to whatever’s making you upset)

he won’t talk unless you want to, he just wants to be there to keep you company 

Portia

she won’t take your silence lightly, she’s definitely the type to pester you to open up to her, if you’re “no talk me im angy” then she’s

she worries that you not talking to her means that you don’t trust her so when you’re feeling better you’ll have to explain that you just need space sometimes and that it isn’t her fault

if you still don’t want to talk after the 50th “what’s wrong” she’ll probably get the hint and leave you alone for a bit

if you’re at her cottage she’ll make sure to leave Pepi with you who will immediately crawl onto your lap and keep you company

Portia doesn’t quite understand why you’d want to be left alone when you’re upset but she tries to respect your space and wait for you to talk

she’ll be happy if you do decide to tell her what’s wrong and she’ll offer to beat up anyone who hurt you 

Lucio

if you’re upset Lucio isn’t the best at picking up on it unless you’re being obvious, he’s so loud with his emotions that he doesn’t understand suffering in silence

if, or rather- when Lucio makes you angry or annoyed, you know that getting some space is the best way to feel better

he’s usually the one to storm out of a room angrily so if the two of you are fighting you’re pretty much guaranteed to have space to be angry in peace

if you’re upset at someone else he doesn’t get why you wouldn't want to complain about it and he’ll try to get you to tell him what’s wrong

he would never tell you but it does hurt his feelings a bit when you won’t talk or if you ask him to leave, he wants to be there for you he’s just not the best at it

if you want to talk he’ll be there to listen- he’ll try his best not to interrupt but no promises

he’s great for a cuddle if you want but it’s best not to listen to his advice for dealing with other people

You traced your fingers over your name and Javier’s as you stared down at the marriage certificate that legally bound the two of you together. Marriage used to feel like a restrictive societal construct that was used and abused by people. The thought of getting married used to fill you with dread — you could still remember how anxious you felt after Lance had offhandedly mentioned his own desires to get married and have a family. 

And then there was Javier. 

He wasn’t particularly old fashioned, but you had known for awhile now that he wouldn’t mind marrying you. Hell, he wore a band on his left ring finger that was meant to look like a wedding band. 

You tucked the certificate in between the pages of the travel map you had brought, before stowing it in the interior pocket of your suitcase. You’d have to get a protective sleeve for it when you got back to Miami — and update whatever needed to be updated to reflect that you were married. 

There was a knock at the door and you rose from the bed to open the door. 

“Room service.” Javier said with a put-on voice as he walked inside, brandishing two bottles of champagne. 

“Oh, I don’t remember ordering room service.” You teased as you shut the door behind him. “I think you have the wrong room.”

“I believe your husband ordered these.” He winked at you, his lips drawn into a grin. 

You bit down on your bottom lip as you leaned in to him, ruffling your fingers through his hair as you lean up to kiss him. “I do have one of those now.”

You took the bottles from his hands and walked over to the counter where the coffee pot was. “Champagne from a plastic cup or a coffee mug?”

Javier moved in behind you, his arms snaking around your waist as he rested his chin against your shoulder. “Plastic cup.” He kissed the curve of your neck, “I thought we might utilize that fancy tub in the bathroom.”

Your brows quirked upwards and you caught his reflection in the mirror in front of you. “What are we celebrating again?”

hm. i’m lowkey...disappointed, by the portia route.

i think if i hadn’t played through nadia and asra’s routes first, i’d like it more – and it’s good for what it is, which is a plot-driven story. but i’ve always really preferred character-driven stories instead, which is much closer to what nadia and asra have? dont get me wrong im still playing it, but it’s not a romance game anymore, it’s an adventure.

the journey to getting together with portia seems really secondary to the plot to save vesuvia. she kisses you super early, and from then on, apparently you guys are partners, and everyone recognizes that. there’s no buildup to it, because they’ve added so much, like tasya and the merging of the city with the realms of the arcana and the history of vesuvia, that they really can’t just focus on the slow churn of emotions you’re supposed to get in a romance game.

also, it literally makes 0 sense with any of the other routes. they explicitly state tasya didn’t cause the storm – so why did it only come in portia’s route? why did TASYA only show up in portia’s route, when theoretically ALL of this is still happening under the surface in all the other routes? between asra and nadia’s route, at least, the only things that are different are different because of the apprentice making different choices. tasya has NOTHING to do with the apprentice.

also, the revelation that the apprentice died is so anticlimactic..? the whole point of the apprentice’s story is gaining the strength and confidence in themselves and establishing the place in the world they need to be able to handle that information. asra has tried to tell them before they were ready. they went catatonic. in the other routes the apprentice has to go through a fairly significant amount of trials to be able to confront their past; it makes it worth it. by “the star,” in nadia’s route, the apprentice was already near the end of their maze in the arcane realm. so what is this? why does tanya get to drop that bomb, and it has NO affect on the apprentice beyond “hey asra is this true? cool thx bigger fish to fry.”

there’s a lot, honestly. but portia’s route is SO dramatically different from what i’ve come to expect from the arcana, and while it’s fun, i don’t like it as much. nadia and asra felt like genuine stories of love; their endings depend on the way you interact with them, whether you encourage their worst tendencies or their best ones. slowly, they begin to lean into whatever you’ve been encouraging. as far as i can tell, portia is a static character: she’s fearless, she’s cheerful, and while she’s been hiding things, she has no trouble exposing all her secrets with the slightest hint of a nudge from the apprentice. and also WHERE are the tarot readings. i feel like the upright and reversed may depend on that SOME, but i can’t honestly tell what qualities, beyond portia’s secret-keeping, we’re supposed to be trying to curb. the one i WANT to curb is portia’s naivete and desperation to fill her life with people who SEEM like they could help her; that’s not what the dialogue options let me do (so far, the most satisfying dialogue choice was when i got to tell her that i didn’t trust Tasya AT ALL).

this got so much longer than i wanted it to but i have so many thoughts. they all boil down to “yeah, portia’s pretty cute and fun, but wtf is this??”

(also, are we supposed to ignore the fact that in the “good” ends for the other routes, vesuvia is still on the 777 year cycle of destruction, and there’s STILL a curse on all the soldiers who died there just fucking chilling underground??? what the FUCK??)

Sam starts talking about his life and Harrison goes to grab more drinks. At this point the sun as almost finished setting and you tell the blonde how to turn the deck lights on. Soon the rows of edison bulbs flick on and a lovely mood is set. The glow isn't too bright and adds a nice light to your summer tanned skin. What you don't know is that the gentlemen appreciated the glow as well. However, they are too polite to say anything too bold after just meeting you.

If you could read minds or be sober enough to detect a certain lack of subtlety you would pick up on how the single men checked you out as you got out of the tub to get rid of the roach. Polite of course, 20 something men are going to appreciate a beautiful American girl right in front of them.

And if they could read your mind they would hear how you were taking in Tom and Harrison's jaw lines and toned muscles. How you appreciated Tuwaine's smile and height. Then add the twin's curls and freckles to the list and they'd think you were picking them like boys from a catalogue. Despite the slight oggling on your part, your eyes always wandered back to the blonde hair blue eyed boy the most. He seemed a little more laid back then Tom. Probably just because one was working more than the other, but that was just initial vibes you got. Regardless of vain appearance choices and vibe preference, all these boys were wonderful and you were just lucky enough your uncle's hot tub fit them all nicely.

Tuwaine smiled cheekily and spoke up. "Alright, we all have fresh drinks and proper buzzes. Let's make it fun and play a game. So Y/N, you went to college in the states, give us a classic drinking game and show us what you got."

"Ha! I don't know what you're looking for but I assume never have I ever is universal? You can't play kings or flip cup in a hit tub. Hold up 5 fingers, put them down if you've done said thing, drink as well."

"No fingers, just play till we are right pissed." Harry grinned and everyone else went along with it. "I will start. Never have I ever- wait this a normal game or sexy version?"

You said you didn't care and Tom said what the hell, so he continued. "Never have I ever gotten walked in on during a scandelous activity." Tom and Harrison both drank and groaned saying they have both walked in on each other at some point in life. Tuwaine continued.

"Never have I ever fooled around while someone else is in the room." There was a pause and no one drank. But then you rose your beer to your lips and they all looked at you in a manner of surprise and demand for explination.

Shrugging you said, "Old drunken hookup in school. We didn't know his roommate was in his top bunk asleep until it was too late. The mistake we made was keeping on going when we thought we heard him, because we did..."

"Wow Y/N. Learning a lot about the neighbor girl right away!"

"Shut up this game was your idea!" You laughed as you spoke in response to his teasing. "But whatever it's my turn now anyway. Never have I ever sent a dirty text to the wrong person." That got all but Harrison and you felt proud for getting them. "Alright so you are either morons or were in a rush to send that sext."

Tom defended himself saying her name was Sam and it was instant regret the second he realized.

Sam glared at him and said, "Yeah no one enjoyed that bro. I'm still shaken up about it."

"Get over yourself it was like 5 years ago! And you accidentally sent your friend Jake one, so pot, kettle, hi both black."

"It was detailed!"

You just sat there amused taking this all in. "I am so glad this happened tonight." You said more to yourself than them.

"Darling if this ends up in the tabloids we will never speak again." They were teasing with the threat. "But come on this is good let's keep going. Never have I ever done it in a car." You, Sam, and Tuwaine all drank and giggled.

The game continued on and another round of drinks were had. You learned Tuwaine had said the wrong name in bed. Also, that both Harry and Harrison have fooled around during family functions. In return they learned that you've hooked up in a college classroom and in a restaurant bathroom. That ended up getting you and your former boyfriend kicked out of the establishment. Towards the final round all were getting sleepier but still in a good mood.

"Never have I ever had sex high." Harrison challenged the group. No one drank. "Wait really? Thought I'd get you with that. Finish your beer and all." He looked at you as he spoke.

"Nope. Just never happened now that I've thought about it. Huh. You'd think right? But nope. Not that I'm opposed." You ended your statement by glancing his way while finishing your beer anyway. Harrison just watched the way your neck moved as you tilted your head back. "Ok boys this was fun but I am gettin tired."

Tom nodded. "Same here. Thank you for having us darling, it was fun!" The others spoke in agreement and you smiled at them saying they were welcomed back anytime. They offered to help clean but you grabbed the remaining bottles and told them you were good. After final goodbyes, you told them to not he strangers, you were all in your respective homes.

You went to bed pretty quick. Next door, at their place Tom, Harrison, and Sam lingered to get some water before bed. "She was really cool." Sam said while sipping water.

Harrison hummed in agreement. "Yeah I think so too. Very chill and all that."

Sam smirked and playfully said, "You just think she's fit mate." There was a pause.

"Well she is." It was Tom who said that and the others looked at him in playful shock. "What I'm not blind! She is! She's isn't some shy girl freaking out over us. She's cheeky and just seems normal about us living next to her. More Harrison's type though I'd say."

Sam laughed. "Yeah he always liked the classic American 'girl next door' type. Just a bonus she is actually American this time." They paused for Harrison to negate their statements but he just sipped his water and looked at them with a glint in his eyes. "Told you." Sam said as he took a sip. "She is better than half the models either of you bring back. Nuerons fire and she can keep a conversation. Not that all models are like that! But come on you went out with some stereotypes." Neither could disagree. Sometimes you just want to have a date with the beautiful face. Long term needs substance though, and both Tom and Harrison thought you had it all.

"We need to invite her over tomorrow, and any time she's free." Groundwork was to be established and Harrison was determined to get to know you more.

So, im going to talk from personal expirience here and i know that this is not Amira's case cause weve been told and shown countless times that everything she does is because she choses to do so, but sometimes i wish we got more grey portrayals of religion...

Like for example, with Nadia on Elite taking of her hijab was seen as this liberating thing because she was previously opressed by her father and didnt really want to follow islam, which is generally how Islam is portrayed in western media.

Amira is the opposite, you could even say she is even stronger in her believes than her parents, everything she does related to Islam is by choice which is how everything related to ones personal choices and way of life should be.

I just whised we got something that involved a bit more layers to it, in my personal experience i wouldnt say i am a religious person, but i do believe there is a god or some powerful force that's the reason behind all of this. Part of the reason i stopped going to church was because at one point in my life i realized i was doing some things because i chose to, and some others because i was being forced to, not physically by my mother, but because of the social preassure that existed around me not to do those things.

I absolutelt hate the taste of alcohol, i honestly dont know why people even like beer, so saying no to alcochol was a a choice for me, i dont like alcohol, and even if i tasted one or two drinks that are nice im not missing it when i dont drink, but then other things like tattoos or secular music, those were things i was depriving myself from not because of the believe that jesus thought it was a sin, but because i knew that if i even comented on my like for those things i would get judgement from the people around me that i knew and loved, and who also loved me.

This made me realize that althought Jesus taught love and forgiveness, the religious enviroment i had grown up in taught his word with judgement sprinkled in, i didnt think jesus would be the kind of guy to exclude someone from the comunity because that someone got a divorce (IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED IN MY CHURCH) I didnt think Jesus would care whether or not a guy got his ears pierced and stuff like that, but THEY tought so (also i realized i was bisexual and i really dont think that means ill go to hell).

Generally we dont really see religion in media, i guess with christianity you have your characters here and there that are shown to go to church on sundays and stuff like that, but religion is never a fundamental part of their lives, nor the focus of their stories, church is just part of their rutine.

I want to see someone struggling on media with the same things i and thousands of other believers struggle with. Many people have lost their faith because of this feeling of judgement, in fact when you search for # on twitter of when i was muslim or christian or whatever many of the tweets express this feeling they constantly had of doing things right not because they thought Jesus or Allah would like them but because they didnt want to be judged by those around them.

The fact that they've actually handled Amira's religion so well so far in Skam España gave me a bit of hope for the future. Religion (of any kind) can be both a horrible tool of oprresion or a beautiful light of hope in someone's life so it would be really cool if we started to get more of this in the media, including the exploration of the conflicts that many people can experience relating to their believes.

The Arcana & The Magnus Archives Crossover GO

If you’re one of my MOTW game players don’t read this, spoilers be ahead. 

Alright for this one we're gonna go with which one they'd vibe the most with, so like for Lucio, probably not an avatar of the End,

Asra: aw fuck started with the hardest one. He's not a violent guy, just flaky. definitely more a mental fear than a physical one. he hates keeping secrets even if he does it a lot, so i don't think eye is a good fit. he does disappear a lot, which leads me to think Lonely, but that doesn't suit him either really. Asra is very in tune with magic and understands how to navigate the realm of Arcana, though, so Imma put him down as SPIRAL.  

Julian is a self imposed martyr, doesn't take care of himself and goes way too far in pursuit of knowledge. He also dies more than is usual, and has that cool curse that lets him take on the wounds of others. While he does have some Eye traits, im gonna go with the END because of his background as a doctor during a plague and the aforementioned curse and death thing.

Nadia felt stifled by her family, and entered a political but shitty marriage in order to escape her older sisters and parents who she felt all saw her as the baby. That can imply the Buried, but I actually think the WEB fits her better. Nadia is a meticulous planner, incredibly smart, and in her bad ending actually does a really good job of manipulating and trapping other people

Portia: honestly this girl's plot is just so intertwined with secrecy that it's hard for me to see her as anything but an avatar of the Eye. Like, she keeps so much stuff to herself, and there's so much stuff that gets discovered with her family (re: her brother being Julian and in her route, whatever the fuck is up with Aunt Vasya) and she's a perilous snoop. So EYE makes sense, really.

Muriel: my favorite character cause im a sucker for stronk people with dark hair. He's one of the few characters with a violent backstory, and his route has a lot of fighting, which could lead to him being an avatar of the Slaughter (or Flesh), but he's also such a Lonely guy that his patron card is literally the Hermit. I'm going to go with SLAUGHTER just because of how much it fucked with him, but he definitely doesn't like it.

Lucio. He's definitely not a servant of the End, he's way too afraid of it and he's the other character with a lot of violence in his backstory so it's going to be something grody. Corruption could work because of the Plague Beetles that followed him everywhere, but probably either the Desolation or the Hunt would fit best. I'm gonna go with the HUNT, because he's actually done a lot of mercenary work and military bullshit.

No clue what’s going on in the Arcana fandom right now but I’d love to hear y’alls opinions on this, especially those of y’all who also like TMA. May draw some stuff for this later too, but probably should do homework first.

Objectively, it’s not that big a deal to him, considering “gender and sexuality” aren’t really that big of a thing in Vesuvia (so it seems, at least) but if it’s a big deal to you, you best believe he’s gonna be celebrating like it’s the masquerade

That’s cool. She’s a rational mind, talking to you about what you want, what you need

She’s there for you. Need a binder? Gotcha. Prefer one gender-oriented clothing style over the next? Already being shipped. Prefer clothing without gender? We got it

She’s not too fussed about it. She just wants you to be happy

She also wants you to be comfortable in your own skin

Julian

He probably makes a big deal about it, hugging you and crying and talking about how amazing it is

He just likes the excuse to hug you, to be honest

He’s cool with it, honestly, the idea of you changing your pronouns or gender or both

He’ll totally start introducing you to everyone you meet as his “date mate”

Muriel

Okay. It’s that simple. He’ll start calling you by your preferred pronouns, if they change

Like I said, gender isn’t as big a deal in Veusvia as it is here, and is probably even less of a deal to Muriel.

But if it’s a big thing with you, he’ll…attempt to be more enthusiastic

No promises, though. He might make you a flower crown. Maybe.

Portia

soft queen is literally bouncing off the walls for you

She’s so happy, and is happy to walk through your gendourney with you

She calls it that religiously and refuses to call it anything other than a mashup of the two

Lucio

Ol goat boi treats gender like deciding between a new pair of shoes.

He’s cool with whatever pair you wanna wear for the day, if it changes or if it stays the same when you decide

You’re still his schnookums, his love, his very reason for existence, and nothing is gonna change that

But do help him decide on what shoes he’ll wear for the day, please? The stilettos will kill him by the end of the day, but they’re so…aesthetic

He's happy with whatever familiar you have even if it's a little off-putting at first

Sometimes when you two walk through the market, him with Faust and you with your tarantula people will cringe away, lots of people are scared of snakes and even more are scared of spiders

Asra would show you all the ways to incorporate your familiar into magic

With a snake and a bird eater tarantula, the shop hasn't had a mouse problem in years

They would tell you stories of his adventures about seeing a spider bigger than his head

Along with stories he would also pick up as much information about tarantulas and tarantula care as he can

"Mc, did you know that tarantulas can eat __? I read about it in a book I found while I was in Drakr."

Nadia

A little off-put at first meeting especially if you didn't tell her about your familiar beforehand

"Mc dear hold still you have a bug on your shoulder, let me get it."

Very interested in learning about both familiars and tarantulas

Would have an expert called in to make sure that your familiar is getting the best care possible

Would 100% have a tiny jewel-encrusted collar made for it

Also would have an enclosure that closely resembles the tarantula's natural habitat made

Catch Nadia wearing it on her shoulder to meetings to make tarantulas the new fashion trend

Julian 

Doesn't really get the whole familiar thing at first and thinks it's a pet but thinks it's a pretty cool one

"How old is it? What?! It's that old?! They only live to be __ years normally"

Once he learns that it is involved with your magic he's nervous to interact because he thinks that it might mess your magic up

After a while, he gets used to it and likes to pet it while he reads

On nights where he can't sleep and your already asleep he'll talk to it since it reminds him of you, he can't hear it's responses but in his opinion, it's a good enough listener 

Julian would 100% spout off spider facts during an awkward silence or tense moment

He would be super nervous about Malak meeting your familiar but they end up being great friends, sometimes the tarantula sleeps on top of Malak

Portia

Portia would think that it's pretty badass to have a big tarantula familiar

She'd be so impressed and probably spends a lot of time staring at it for the first few days she gets to be around it

She would let it build itself a little place to go to in her garden somewhere

She's super happy that it can eat all the little pests in her garden 

"So it's a goliath bird-eater? Can it eat Camio?!"

Portia would gather all the books that have information about tarantulas from the library and read them with you

Has a thousand questions about it and write down the answers in a notebook

Muriel

He would insist that it's just a baby and would warm right up to it before he warms up to you

When he holds it almost looks small

He's super scared he's gonna accidentally crunch it one day but it never happens 

"Are you sure I can hold it? What if I crush it?"

Your familiar is going to be thriving with all the bugs and little mice that are running around his hut

It's super comforting for him when he has your familiar in his scarf when he goes to town especially if your not with him

Would carve a little statue of your familiar and have Asra paint it for you

Lucio

"Oh you think that's an exotic pet wait till you see this!"

He's pretty impressed that you would have such an interesting familiar 

He would ask what it thinks about him after he learns that you can talk to it

He buys himself a tarantula to match but his is albino so it sticks with the aesthetic he already has

Has a vet that specializes in tarantulas trained and hired just for your familiar

He's pretty scared and grossed out at first but it makes you happy so he'll deal with it (also he doesn't want to look weak)

Probably buys it really nice food because there aren't enough bugs in the palace to feed it
