I have a project of Eddsworld in mind since july of 2023. It's an alternative universe of Eddsworld were they are chileans. It's just them being funny together, but in Chile, my country.

Needless to say I don't want to offend anyone with this, It's a parody, and I made this for my own fun, just wanted to share it with the fandom. (Seems like people like it, tho!)

I'll share some of the art I've made until now.

I tend to be very awful at having constancy and perseverance with my own projects, so I don't have advanced it very much. (Yeah, it's a bit abandoned.)

every now and then ill come back to this blog because its the only place where i can criticize homestuck and have people listen to it without screaming, "gurhhh ummm u just hate cuz um um um.. your.. your transphobic! homophobic!"

i just wanted to say homestuck fans have some of the worst humor ive ever seen, ESCPECIALLY the homestuck team. it feels so, milk toast. i get a insane vibe of old person who is trying so hard to make funny memes.

one of the comics was just,, vriska saying "gay" over and over? its not the fact that its a gay joke, cuz i think lgbtq jokes can be funny. but its just so uncreative here. it feels like laziness on full display. repeat gay over and over.... i dont really get it i guess.

or the general obsession with lgbtq identity in homestuck fandom. again, out of context this sounds like homophobic or transphobic bs but its moreso i just feel a insane dissapointment how storytelling is not valued anymore in this fandom. you just slap a label on a character and thats as far as content goes now a days.

its been like that for years as well. how many variations of different genders and sexualities until we get.. some creative headcanons? a creatively made comic? some storytelling that fleshes out the characters deeper?

the thing is people could make interesting stuff with lgbtq identities too but they never do. the bar is so fucking low man.

TLDR; homestuck fandom is the epitome of anti-creativity.

Yeah, that Vriska gay jokes was from the official Homestuck Independent Creative Union team that was posted on Patreon, drawn by floralmarsupial. It sucks hard. Someone said it looks like Vriska trying to gaslight Dave to thinking he is gay (for Karkat). It should feel wrong, but LGBT and Davekat fans don't care. Bullying and grooming are the same kind of definition in their eyes. Most of the humor in modern Homestuck plays it safe. They don't want to offend others if they try to do edgey, dark, or slapstick humor. So the go-to kind is often the hashtag relatable humor. But even then, that could be taken as offensive by someone. Even the pool of latest Internet memes can be hard if most of it sucks for what's currently popular or can't be portrayed in certain forms of styles. Simple text over image is not the same as trying to say it in a speech bubbles at times. Sudden deep fry visual humor won't pull off well if previous art styles had them looking clean and crisp at first. Maybe it can pull off well, but the execution of it mostly sucks in recent times by modern generation. LGBT themes really have taken over priorities in story telling, even when it is not involved or that important in the narrative. Like how does being trans gonna help save the world from impending doom from a big bad that is destined to appear in every existing timeline? Can we also get headcanons that may expand on the characters interest? Like if Eridan is interested in military war history, would that extend to movies or video games he could watch/play? It could get people to look more into other things they never thought they would be interested in. What about Dave's interest in collecting dead things? How about him having a fucking dinosaur collection in his house because it is cool? Showing his silly side a little? Or have Jade's gardening being taught to the other citizens of Earth, be the one that ends world hunger since plantations would be possible even in places that shouldn't be able to grow certain types of food?

hello @suddenlydaggers ! I wish to properly reply to you and am gonna be talking about your replies here since I need to ramble a bit. I do not mean to be rude, but in advance, I just need to say I fear you may have misunderstood What exactly I was talking about with this post.

TLDR: While I for the most part agree with your points here: This wasn't what this post was about. This was a post about violence and hatred I've seen and experienced with fandom as an arospec/acespec person who enjoys exploring that part of my identity through headcanons and character interpterions.

This wasn't a post about representation in media, but instead about how Hateful and Violent otherwise progressive queer communities online are towards people like me when we try to see ourselves in our favorite characters. This was about how normalized it is to say stuff like "there's not platonic explanation for this" in regards to two characters Literally Just Breathing Near Each Other but someone choosing to interpret an intimate queer relationship as a qpr one will be harassed, abused, insulted and called homophobic for "gay erasure."

*insert long, long, Long rant that I don't have the emotional capacity for today about how all of this can be linked back to the violent aphobia of Not Too Distant Tumblr's past*

I've been triggered on multiple occasions going into tags for certain ships I enjoy in a qpr context only to be met with post after post sneering and jeering at the Idea that these characters are """just friends"". One time I saw a post that word for word says "people who interpret this relationship as a platonic one are trying to demeaning the value of the characters' marriage in their story" and felt violently ill for the rest of the day. I have been told countless times through fandoms that claimed to be hashtag Quirky and Queer and Proud that the way I love is Lesser. That I am not a complete person because my ideal relationship isn't full of Sloppy Raw Dogging Action but is instead one completely detached from a very Suffocating idea of romance and sexuality that fandom spaces reveal in at the cost of excluding those who just....don't Crave that and just wanna have fun with something Else when playing around with the little blorbo people in the little stories.

Will you be participating in any of the IY Fandom events this year? (Inu-Spiration, InuSecretSanta, Inuvember, Sugar and Spice Event, etc.)

Hello, anon! I realise you’ve sent this ask to multiple people, so in the interest of your interest check, I’ll answer your question. I tend to keep musings to hashtags, but as my closest friends here know, I’m an opinionated mouthpiece when given the opportunity. So, I’m going to be honest about my feelings here, since you asked in such good faith.

But for future reference – you don’t need to hide. I won’t bite unless asked. Note: These opinions are my own and not a direct reflection of how others may feel, or the coordinators of these events.

Inu-spiration: No. Mystery-bag art isn’t on my Christmas list, and the same goes for writing. When I want to collaborate, I have options, and those options come with people I adore and admire, and afford me the gift of knowledge. Not knowing who/what/when/where/why I’m being paired and the type of work I’ll create is not in my repertoire of a good time, and from personal experience, participants tend to be laden with stress up until the very last moment. In the interest of peace and tranquillity, it’s a no from me.

InuSecretSanta: My calendar quakes. In the interest of peace and time-keeping, it’s a no from me.

Inuvember Mothership (and somehow FC) Bingo: No. And because you forced me into having to read, re-read and make sense of something that doesn’t make sense, I returned the favour – this is going to be longwinded.

Incoherent: I have to read a lot to get to the meat of what this event entails. My brain is flighty, and I tend to skip ANs on a good day – so when I did just that, I was brought to percentages. So, I have to go back up to the top to understand why those are there. And when I read it all, it’s still not very clear what the aim is here – apart from, of course, competition, competition, competition.

Longwinded: Bingo. A game beloved by many, particularly OAPs and children. It usually comprises of a card and a time and place to meet. This event, so far, has come with 2 announcement posts, neither of which is a bingo card, and an edit (which I’ll get into) to the event itself. As per the previous incoherency issues, neither of these announcements have come from the Inuvember page, and have been spread between 2 other blogs. Having to jump through multiple hoops to find information is a PR nightmare, and I’ve already thrown my laptop out the window because I don’t know where to look. The OAPs and children weep, for the adults don't have the answers.

Exclusionary: This one is two-fold, so I’ve broken it down. -Themes: are, at best, exclusionary. Forcing people into rare characters and rare pairs has pushed the majority of the fandom out of participation within the first 2 weeks. On top of that, the original event comprised of an entire week of whump, which is baffling for so many reasons – so by week 3, there are half a dozen people left who might participate. By the time we reach week 4 – the only one that makes a lick of sense for a fandom-wide event – it’s Tropes, which, besties, no… Whump is a Trope. And as a final hoorah, the event has been amended before we’ve even seen a bingo card. If that isn’t fumbling the bag, I don’t know what is. At this point, we have 3 weeks until November, no Bingo card, and very little time to come up with a Hojo Whump story. – Competition: Ain’t my schtick. Leaderboards, as a concept, are not cute. Fandom is an escapist plain, and with the incredibly niche themes and modge-podging that has to be done to earn points/percentages/whatever, all but 2 people have “lost” their chance to place anywhere. To meet any requirements here, you’d have to give yourself over to the toxic productivity that only a handful of people thrive in. We already have a quarterly competition that happens too frequently for a small, dying fandom, so this portion of the event was unnecessary, ill-advised, and just plain whack.

Transparency/Prizes: There are prizes…apparently. There has been no mention of what they are and should have been announced from the word go. I’ve gleaned that this section of the event may have sprouted from Feudal Connection’s input, considering I've spotted they've answered a few concerns already. From personal experience, I have received 2/8 Winners banners promised from that specific event (which I do not feel to/shouldn’t have to chase, and no, I’m not a special case here), have found it to be nothing but an administrative nightmare from the ground up, and can't compute when suggestions for improvement are met with combative resistance to change. With all that being said, I am 1) not surprised this hasn’t been coordinated/planned properly yet and 2) not convinced that they will be worth the hassle of chasing up when/if these promises are met.

Convoluted: From my wading through multiple blogs and posts, I have concluded this is a Mothership event and bears no real affiliation with Inuvember, apart from appearing on a banner and in a tag. Three separate blogs/events conducting one’s brainchild is confusing at best, and I struggle to understand where FC or Inuvember come into this event other than being guilty by association.

TLDR: From my understanding, previous Inuvember events have been this: 30 days of themes for us to celebrate our love for Inuyasha as a fandom, in whatever way we see fit. This is 30 days of competition to see whose Franken-fic comes out on top. Fandom accolades have never been the aim of my game, so you’ll have to find this very, very particular bloodlust elsewhere. Verdict: In the interest of peace and sanity, it’s a no from me.

Sugar and Spice: Probably not, cause it’s too far in the future for me to say for certain what with having no concept of time. In the interest of refusing to believe 2023 is near, it’s a no from me.

Etc: Fandom is supposed to be about fun. And yes, some find competition and Being Number 1 fun. But I’m tired, I have a child to raise, and I just wanna write/draw my silly little grocery store daydreams and delight over them with my friends. I do not care who is the best. I do not care about stretching myself thin for things that do not bring me joy. And you won’t find any HoW tO WiN aT FaNdOm nonsense here. We have snacks – that’s about it.

Otherkin and the public eye

If otherkin are to be understood and respected, they need to be "popular," to a degree. Walmart doesn't have to sell otherkin merch, but more people have to know about them. This post is me just taking about how that could happen.

Just a note:

1. I'm alterhuman/otherkin myself, I’m part of every group mentioned in this post

2. I'm very interested in numbers, trends, optics, etc, and that's what this post is talking about

3. If this is weird or hard to understand, please let me know and I can rephrase/clarify parts that are confusing

4. I’m really bad at terminology, I’m sorry, it’s never clicked with me. I did my best to get everything right, but there might be mistakes.

As a method to spread awareness of otherkin, I propose a flurry of posts on Tiktok and Twitter that will give a desirable image of the community. I say Tiktok because it lets posts be spread to enormous amounts of people in a very short amount of time, and Twitter because of the way communities are formed on that platform, and because movements across two platforms generally do better.

First, I’d like to explain that I’m not interested in censoring/neutering the community. I’m not against the community having an image that in places is unpleasant to outsiders. I just don’t see why the image needs to be unpleasant in ways that aren’t fundamental to the community. To use furries as an example, I’m totally against denying the nsfw aspect of the community. Lots of furries like nsfw, and it’s a part of the fandom that shouldn’t be erased. “Marketing” furries correctly, to me, would not look like denying the 18+ side of the fandom, it would look like making sure that when people see a fursuit for the first time, it’s a pretty fursuit.

Looking at areas where non-otherkin interact with us, I’ve noticed they seem to disagree mostly with the ideas that otherkin are their kintype, that kintypes are involuntary, that otherkin are free to act as their kintype, and that otherkin experience dysphoria. I respect/believe all of those ideas, and in fact I want the community to be more popular so that more people respect/believe them as well.

That being said, I think an image of the community needs to be constructed that is palatable, in the sense that it is easy to understand and spread. If someone says they are otherkin, there should be an idea in people’s minds of what that means, and how they can respect that, and any way that someone’s needs might differ should be simple to address.

Take the transgender community as an example. Though being transgender can be complicated, and there’s lots of room for discussion of that, the idea of the community can be expressed simply as “trans women are women, trans men are men, and nonbinary people are nonbinary.” That doesn’t compromise on any fundamental part of the community, and doesn’t hold the community back by being unclear, hard to understand, etc. There is also a simple understanding of “what to do” when someone is trans, especially on twitter, thanks to threads like this: https://twitter.com/jaysaltx/status/1389683863262310404?s=20.

So, what should the community look like? Here are some superficial things that cause friction:

Not being accepting of ideas surrounding mental illness. Most of the time I see people upset at otherkin it’s because of the way they behave around people with psychosis, dissociative disorders, personality disorders, etc. This could be resolved by explicitly being supportive of people who otherkin are typically thought to harm, and respecting the wishes of people in those communities.

Being super nitpicky/”toxic.” Nine out of ten times I see people who aren't otherkin talking bad about otherkin, it’s because they associate “kinning” with a time on Tumblr where people would get called out/harassed for minor issues, things like friend disagreements or doubles. It would do the community well to be portrayed as a place where if you get something wrong, you are gently corrected/(“educated”) rather than “harassed.”

Liking Danganronpa? I’ve heard people being referred to as “Danganronpa kinnies” like a thousand times, and it’s never positive, so maybe just use other media as an example for fiction kin.

And here are some things that people like about the community:

Being able to label themselves/ find a sense of identity

The way kintypes affect gender

Aesthetics

Demi-humanity: catboy/girls, dogboy/girls, vampires, werewolves, zombies, etc

My strategy would be to simply lean away from those things that cause friction, and towards things that people enjoy.

2. Types of posts that could be made:

Generally:

-Infographics/informational pictures. These get spread everywhere, and, if done right, are easy to understand.

-Flags/twibbons/symbols. People like them

-Slogans? Common phrases? If you notice someone saying something that’s short, clear, and easy to understand, repeat it

-Memes especially are important, think about how well “starter pack” memes were able to create an image of groups of people

Twitter specific:

-Informational threads, so so many of them

-”Otherkin promote yourself” posts (also just good for support in general)

-Hashtags (for art, promotion, or just in general.)

Tiktok specific:

-POVs, memes, normal Tiktok stuff

-Videos centered around common kintypes?

there are two main female characters with about a dozen male characters. one is canonically with the male lead. the fandom ships the male lead with his best friend though, so we can’t have that actually, but we can’t just leave our girls because we love them but they’re strong and don’t need no man hashtag girlboss but they can’t just be single because everyone still has to be paired up so they’re lesbians! we love lesbians they’re very soft and sweet and wholesome but also act as the logical ones as opposed to the disaster gays, always laughing at and shaking their heads at their shenanigans. we won’t make nearly as much art and fic for them but they’re always in the background so u know how much we love them haha they’re sarcastic and so funny and they’re so pure and perfect together! um also because there’s no more female characters i guess they don’t have that many strong friendships with other women. fuck the writers for their heteronormativity we’re so cool for making everyone gay amirite

do you know how devastating it is to see lesbian headcanons and my first reaction isn’t the joy of seeing lesbians being represented and loved and celebrated—instead it’s skepticism, reluctance. because i’m so used to source material and fans alike giving female characters dust. and yes fandom creators work with the crumbs they have and often it’s good, it’s wonderful even. but those trends add up. and i hate cynicism and assuming people are shitty, but this isn’t about assumption of ill intent, it’s discomfort in knowing that this deep-rooted misogyny is inescapable and that it influences all fandom creations and headcanons, including my own. and lesbian headcanons are so often intrinsically involved, often feeling almost like compensation for shafting women so much.

how do i cope with that? the misogynistic lesbophobic amatonormative biases that lurk behind these innocent headcanons that make it hard to believe that non-sapphics actually care about wlw representation. and again this isn’t about individual intent or malice but larger fandom tropes and trends being so consistent and integrated into fandom culture that it’s hard to ignore. but wtf am i supposed to do. media with big fandoms either have casts with men as a majority, are children’s cartoons whose discourses ive seen mushroom clouds of in the distance, or get cancelled by netflix. i hate it here sometimes
