I have a project of Eddsworld in mind since july of 2023. It's an alternative universe of Eddsworld were they are chileans. It's just them being funny together, but in Chile, my country.

Needless to say I don't want to offend anyone with this, It's a parody, and I made this for my own fun, just wanted to share it with the fandom. (Seems like people like it, tho!)

I'll share some of the art I've made until now.

I tend to be very awful at having constancy and perseverance with my own projects, so I don't have advanced it very much. (Yeah, it's a bit abandoned.)

every now and then ill come back to this blog because its the only place where i can criticize homestuck and have people listen to it without screaming, "gurhhh ummm u just hate cuz um um um.. your.. your transphobic! homophobic!"

i just wanted to say homestuck fans have some of the worst humor ive ever seen, ESCPECIALLY the homestuck team. it feels so, milk toast. i get a insane vibe of old person who is trying so hard to make funny memes.

one of the comics was just,, vriska saying "gay" over and over? its not the fact that its a gay joke, cuz i think lgbtq jokes can be funny. but its just so uncreative here. it feels like laziness on full display. repeat gay over and over.... i dont really get it i guess.

or the general obsession with lgbtq identity in homestuck fandom. again, out of context this sounds like homophobic or transphobic bs but its moreso i just feel a insane dissapointment how storytelling is not valued anymore in this fandom. you just slap a label on a character and thats as far as content goes now a days.

its been like that for years as well. how many variations of different genders and sexualities until we get.. some creative headcanons? a creatively made comic? some storytelling that fleshes out the characters deeper?

the thing is people could make interesting stuff with lgbtq identities too but they never do. the bar is so fucking low man.

TLDR; homestuck fandom is the epitome of anti-creativity.

Yeah, that Vriska gay jokes was from the official Homestuck Independent Creative Union team that was posted on Patreon, drawn by floralmarsupial. It sucks hard. Someone said it looks like Vriska trying to gaslight Dave to thinking he is gay (for Karkat). It should feel wrong, but LGBT and Davekat fans don't care. Bullying and grooming are the same kind of definition in their eyes. Most of the humor in modern Homestuck plays it safe. They don't want to offend others if they try to do edgey, dark, or slapstick humor. So the go-to kind is often the hashtag relatable humor. But even then, that could be taken as offensive by someone. Even the pool of latest Internet memes can be hard if most of it sucks for what's currently popular or can't be portrayed in certain forms of styles. Simple text over image is not the same as trying to say it in a speech bubbles at times. Sudden deep fry visual humor won't pull off well if previous art styles had them looking clean and crisp at first. Maybe it can pull off well, but the execution of it mostly sucks in recent times by modern generation. LGBT themes really have taken over priorities in story telling, even when it is not involved or that important in the narrative. Like how does being trans gonna help save the world from impending doom from a big bad that is destined to appear in every existing timeline? Can we also get headcanons that may expand on the characters interest? Like if Eridan is interested in military war history, would that extend to movies or video games he could watch/play? It could get people to look more into other things they never thought they would be interested in. What about Dave's interest in collecting dead things? How about him having a fucking dinosaur collection in his house because it is cool? Showing his silly side a little? Or have Jade's gardening being taught to the other citizens of Earth, be the one that ends world hunger since plantations would be possible even in places that shouldn't be able to grow certain types of food?

For 2024 in review!

2. What’s something new that you tried in a fic this year?

(not IN a fic specifically but whatev) This year i did a holiday fix challenge (Catwinter) and while I have written holiday-themed fic collections before, and used prompt lists before, I've never really done the actual challenge as part of a fandom event where i actually follow the prompt list and post the stories during the designated time with the special hashtag, I'm usually just doing my own thing on my own time and not tagging the event/prompt because i wasn't following the 'rules' after all. I'm always hesitant to commit to events like that cuz like, what if i have no inspiration and motivation to write when it comes down to it??? then i feel the lowgrade anxiety/stress of not turning my homework assignments in on time. even tho I'm a fucking 40 year old woman with a bachelor's degree who is voluntarily writing fanfic just for funsies. I fucking hate the way brains work sometimes...

Anyway the event was fun and I made myself write just the scene(s) that came to me instead of agonizing about building up some backstory to the scene, building perfect bridge scenes between disconnected bits, and fleshing it all out 'properly'. Because that tends to lead to me not finishing/posting things because it never feels like enough. But the fact is that sometimes my story was meant to be only 1.2k words and Thats Okay.

7. Did you write for any new fandoms or ships this year?

I wrote the Catwinter fics mentioned above plus a few others for Dead Boy Detectives, a show brand new for 2024.

I also wrote my first Ted Lasso fics this year, though i have been a fan of the show since pre-2024.

20. Share your funniest line

got distracted from answering this by rereading several things, lol. no particularly good one-liners that will make any sense out of context. which is surprising to me because usually every fic has at least one line that is witty af. but here's two fun excerpts of a chapter from my Ted Lasso fic where Roy and Jamie get ready for a road trip and I think this bit is hilarious but maybe that's cuz its semi-based on semi-true events...

(for context, a minute before Jamie was joking about Roy having special mind powers):

“ Busier than usual, there’s a queue,” read the text from Roy. “Might be a while. ” Jamie grinned.  “ bet u can tell me exactly how long it will b ” he typed back “ Fuck off, I’m not clairvoyant. ”  Jamie needed to take a second to google that. Jesus fuckin’ Christ, Roy, just say ‘psychic’ like a normal person.  “ Go on n guess. If u get it right ill give u 2 song skips on the playlist ” “ Who are you, fucking Spotify? We’ll skip whatever the fuck I want to skip. ” A second later came a rare Roy Kent double text. “ Fucking fine. 24 minutes. ”  Jamie was delighted that Roy had given in and decided to play along. It wasn’t impossible to get the stodgy fucker to be silly sometimes.  “ its a bet. honored 2 b best mates with a superhero ” was accompanied by a salute emoji, several wink and silly tongue-out emojis “ Fuck off. ” Roy predictably responded.  (.............)

“Okay, now are we ready?” Roy asked again. “Yup! Oh, wait! Alllllmost, ooone sec-” Jamie stalled as he unlocked his phone and gave it a few taps. “Okay.” Jamie held up the phone where Roy could see it as a video clip began to play. The voice of Optimus Prime gave a rallying cry of “Autobots, roll out!”. And Roy had to work really fucking hard actually to resist joining in Jamie’s demented giggling.  “How long have you been waiting to do that?” Roy tried to ask as deadpan as he possibly manage. Ice cold stoicism. Jamie’s giggles continued, so Roy probably wasn’t very successful at that.  In that precise moment, an alarm went off on Jamie’s phone and that muppet face of his fucking lit up even further with glee and wonder. He started slapping Roy excitedly on the bicep and shoved the phone right up in Roy’s face, pointing at the timer app on the screen. “Psychic Grandad” was the label on a 24 minute countdown that now read 00:00. “ That’s how long i been waitin’! Oh my god, Roy!” The giggles escalated into cackles until Jamie had to take a pause and gasp for a breathe a few times before he got enough wind for another round of laughter. 

30. What would you like to write next year?

I would like to make some fucking progress on my OFMD multichaps which have languished largely untouched since 2023. Really any of my unfinished multichaps I would love to give them some attention.

The Big AmbitionTM project is the 42k words i have written (zero of these words are published anywhere) of a Modern AU Good Omens Beelzebub/Gabriel fic I wrote long before GO s2 was even a thing that might possibly exist someday. honestly its a fairly complete and pretty damn okay fic as-is, but its not Great yet, and the overachiever in me is like "you know what would really put this story over the top? Inserting some quoted lines and easter eggs and direct references to GO s2 up in this bitch." cuz it already has a bunch of similar references and lines from s1, and s1 didnt even have canon Ineffable Bureaucracy! I can't write that many words for the ship and not even mention their fucking song! but finding the lines and the more subtle references to use will require watching s2 again, probably more than once, and I've just been busy fixating on different shows

Will you be participating in any of the IY Fandom events this year? (Inu-Spiration, InuSecretSanta, Inuvember, Sugar and Spice Event, etc.)

Hello, anon! I realise you’ve sent this ask to multiple people, so in the interest of your interest check, I’ll answer your question. I tend to keep musings to hashtags, but as my closest friends here know, I’m an opinionated mouthpiece when given the opportunity. So, I’m going to be honest about my feelings here, since you asked in such good faith.

But for future reference – you don’t need to hide. I won’t bite unless asked. Note: These opinions are my own and not a direct reflection of how others may feel, or the coordinators of these events.

Inu-spiration: No. Mystery-bag art isn’t on my Christmas list, and the same goes for writing. When I want to collaborate, I have options, and those options come with people I adore and admire, and afford me the gift of knowledge. Not knowing who/what/when/where/why I’m being paired and the type of work I’ll create is not in my repertoire of a good time, and from personal experience, participants tend to be laden with stress up until the very last moment. In the interest of peace and tranquillity, it’s a no from me.

InuSecretSanta: My calendar quakes. In the interest of peace and time-keeping, it’s a no from me.

Inuvember Mothership (and somehow FC) Bingo: No. And because you forced me into having to read, re-read and make sense of something that doesn’t make sense, I returned the favour – this is going to be longwinded.

Incoherent: I have to read a lot to get to the meat of what this event entails. My brain is flighty, and I tend to skip ANs on a good day – so when I did just that, I was brought to percentages. So, I have to go back up to the top to understand why those are there. And when I read it all, it’s still not very clear what the aim is here – apart from, of course, competition, competition, competition.

Longwinded: Bingo. A game beloved by many, particularly OAPs and children. It usually comprises of a card and a time and place to meet. This event, so far, has come with 2 announcement posts, neither of which is a bingo card, and an edit (which I’ll get into) to the event itself. As per the previous incoherency issues, neither of these announcements have come from the Inuvember page, and have been spread between 2 other blogs. Having to jump through multiple hoops to find information is a PR nightmare, and I’ve already thrown my laptop out the window because I don’t know where to look. The OAPs and children weep, for the adults don't have the answers.

Exclusionary: This one is two-fold, so I’ve broken it down. -Themes: are, at best, exclusionary. Forcing people into rare characters and rare pairs has pushed the majority of the fandom out of participation within the first 2 weeks. On top of that, the original event comprised of an entire week of whump, which is baffling for so many reasons – so by week 3, there are half a dozen people left who might participate. By the time we reach week 4 – the only one that makes a lick of sense for a fandom-wide event – it’s Tropes, which, besties, no… Whump is a Trope. And as a final hoorah, the event has been amended before we’ve even seen a bingo card. If that isn’t fumbling the bag, I don’t know what is. At this point, we have 3 weeks until November, no Bingo card, and very little time to come up with a Hojo Whump story. – Competition: Ain’t my schtick. Leaderboards, as a concept, are not cute. Fandom is an escapist plain, and with the incredibly niche themes and modge-podging that has to be done to earn points/percentages/whatever, all but 2 people have “lost” their chance to place anywhere. To meet any requirements here, you’d have to give yourself over to the toxic productivity that only a handful of people thrive in. We already have a quarterly competition that happens too frequently for a small, dying fandom, so this portion of the event was unnecessary, ill-advised, and just plain whack.

Transparency/Prizes: There are prizes…apparently. There has been no mention of what they are and should have been announced from the word go. I’ve gleaned that this section of the event may have sprouted from Feudal Connection’s input, considering I've spotted they've answered a few concerns already. From personal experience, I have received 2/8 Winners banners promised from that specific event (which I do not feel to/shouldn’t have to chase, and no, I’m not a special case here), have found it to be nothing but an administrative nightmare from the ground up, and can't compute when suggestions for improvement are met with combative resistance to change. With all that being said, I am 1) not surprised this hasn’t been coordinated/planned properly yet and 2) not convinced that they will be worth the hassle of chasing up when/if these promises are met.

Convoluted: From my wading through multiple blogs and posts, I have concluded this is a Mothership event and bears no real affiliation with Inuvember, apart from appearing on a banner and in a tag. Three separate blogs/events conducting one’s brainchild is confusing at best, and I struggle to understand where FC or Inuvember come into this event other than being guilty by association.

TLDR: From my understanding, previous Inuvember events have been this: 30 days of themes for us to celebrate our love for Inuyasha as a fandom, in whatever way we see fit. This is 30 days of competition to see whose Franken-fic comes out on top. Fandom accolades have never been the aim of my game, so you’ll have to find this very, very particular bloodlust elsewhere. Verdict: In the interest of peace and sanity, it’s a no from me.

Sugar and Spice: Probably not, cause it’s too far in the future for me to say for certain what with having no concept of time. In the interest of refusing to believe 2023 is near, it’s a no from me.

Etc: Fandom is supposed to be about fun. And yes, some find competition and Being Number 1 fun. But I’m tired, I have a child to raise, and I just wanna write/draw my silly little grocery store daydreams and delight over them with my friends. I do not care who is the best. I do not care about stretching myself thin for things that do not bring me joy. And you won’t find any HoW tO WiN aT FaNdOm nonsense here. We have snacks – that’s about it.

first i want to say that if anyone reads this having not watched btvs i dont want to scare you off!! its a wonderful show that shaped so much of my life, genuinely, but i've been ruminating on this recently

with no particular editing, here's my thoughts

i don't know. i was just thinking about how its not just a problem with btvs, and its not just a problem with that fandom, obviously, but its especially a problem with that particular brand of '90s-2000s Rah Rah Girl Power that especially Hashtag Feminist men and cishet women like to push. (its also usually in feminism that is deliberately not intersectional - meaning, doesnt include or prioritize woc, disabled/mentally ill women, trans and nb women, fat women, poor and immigrant women, so on and so forth.)

anyway. back to btvs. the premise of the show is that there is a girl, and she's Always A Girl!! who has supreme feminine power that men simply dont understand but that they will try to control. and through this supreme feminine power, she will frequently fight penis-shaped monsters and slay them in ways that are often rape allegories.

this also reminds me of a le guin quote about how women get to have a Deep Feminine Mother Earth Mystique Power and men get to have like. math skills. and practical knowledge. you know? like, buffy has Innate Demon Slaying Skills but she cant drive a fucking car? even though she lives in socal?

((sidenote: the whole slayer line thing is so ... like, are there nb slayers? trans girl slayers? trans BOY slayers? if there are trans boy slayers, then its not really "one girl in all the world," is it, its "one vagina in all the world," right??? are we reducing people to their genitals now - how fucking feminist of us. what about intersex slayers? there are so many different cultures covered by the slayer line throughout history, some of them must have had more than a binary gender system. It Dont Make Sense (unless you have a really simplistic way of looking at things, or are a terf))))

and of course, the girl is always thin and delicate and pouty when she fights. she's very - weaponized feminity is i believe the term, whether its faith's leather pants and glossy red lips or buffy's cute little miniskirts and blonde curls or cordelia's curves or or or -

eta its very centering gender on what genitals you have, centering feminity on whether you experience being raped or sexually assaulted, centering power on your ability to wield sex

also, a character "turns" into a lesbian. she literally says the words, "uh, gay now." another character tells her and her girlfriend that she feels like giving up on men entirely and they share a knowing grin.

this isnt even meant to be anti-willow or anything - i think for the time period of the show, the writers handled willow's sexuality very thoughtfully and sensitively. and obviously, queer people are allowed to make jokes like this! its funny! i acknowledge that! but in conjuction with everything else, its a little bit terf bait-y.

i'm running out of steam now. theres other stuff too ... again i want to say that i LOVE btvs and i certainly dont think that this stuff is, like, made with the intention of turning people into terfs or that everyone who watches and consumes it is a terf. but i think its something we should be aware of as we're watching the show!!!

further eta i dont think this stuff by itself makes the show evil at all!! i dont think any of this stuff by itself is evil stuff, i just think. we need to be aware of what we are putting out there into the universe and the kind of content we create and the kind of things we say and do when we do it.
