Love the way fans who blame the Jedi Council for Anakin's fall are very conveniently ignoring the fact that Palpatine was at his side for the whole time, manipulating him, destroying and distorting his character little by little, corrupting his mind with nightmares, preying on his weaknesses and ego, and paving the way for the most opportune moment for him to finally be seduced by the dark side, and be "killed" by Vader.

The Jedi Council wasn't perfect (which was a result of the long term game the Sith were playing to destroy the Jedi Order and finally conquer the Republic), but they didn't turn Anakin to the dark side. They were simply too blinded to foresee and prevent his fall.

Honestly unimaginably funny how good Cool Pen is for our mood at the moment. We'll be at university feeling the full effects of the Mental Health Wood Chipper ongoing, rapidly approaching rock bottom, and then we'll get home and look at our Fancy Pen case and it's like that one comic. The one where the endless fog of darkness is instantly dispelled by one seemingly mundane thing. The human brain is a ridiculous machine. omg fountain pens.

you most likely didn't find anything because i made it up HAHAHA lijiang (豊江) is the name of the fictional ancient northeastern kingdom where the great calamity occurred and guksa (國師/국사) means royal preceptor! so all together the username means the royal preceptor of lijiang. it's a personal joke of mine^^

saint sarah, or sarah-e-kali (sarah the black, “the black” is a title sometimes given to black/dark-skinned saints) in romani, is the patron saint of roma people in latin catholicism, though she isn't recognized by the catholic church. she is also revered as a protector for marginalized and poor people in general. her origins are thought to lie in a syncretization of the hindu goddess kali, the story of sarah along with the three marys, and the tradition of black madonnas. (christian roma have historically venerated other black madonnas as well.) the church is her major shrine - she's venerated here annually on the 24th of may by roma pilgrims.

oh look, it's a rebind???

I'm not big on rebinding things, for the most part, bc generally I'd like to make a more sturdy copy from the ground up over recycling a paperback.

however. Ewan McGregor was in town for Tokyo Comic Con, I found out the night before the last day, and managed to scoop a ticket (including for a photoshoot!). This was what I could manage in 3 hrs the night before to drop in the gift box. (Very sadly, you couldn't hand them gifts directly?? Not even in the autograph lines.)

I picked this book on Buddhist philosophy to gift, mostly because when I read it, every now and then I'd be struck by the thought that Qui-Gon Jinn would probably quote Thich Nhat Hanh. A lot. So it was a bit funny.

"How To Walk" is a pretty easily understood short work on being mindful and in the present moment just while moving your body around throughout the day. It's about enjoying the movement and capabilities of your body and the environment you are passing through, rather than focusing on your destination.

The cover above is done with colibri cloth and hand foiling. I drew a little pattern for the footsteps, which wraps around the spine of the book to the back (I didnt get a lot of pics, I was in a rush). It has gold speckled edges and chiyogami print endpapers.

Rehab was pretty hit or miss - I met some great people, but the program was very 12 Steps oriented, and I'm more convinced than ever that the 12 Steps is a cult that leads its members to an early death. On the other hand, changing my medication totally killed my desire to drink as did the conviction that I do not want anything to do with the world of recovery
