Can I request a Larissa weems x non-binary reader enemies to lovers fic? R is the new English that the board hired but Larissa doesn't like them and was very against the hiring because she didn't like r's vibes (aka is extremely attracted to them and doesn't want another gomez situation).

This leads to lots of snarky comments and public debates/intellectual sparring matches (which leads to actual sparring matches) also little things which r knows Larissa hates (and vise versa) like quoting book passages at her.

Eventually it gets to the point where Larissa is sitting in on all r's classes because she “doesn't trust” their teaching as it's known to be more unconventional (cue r asking Larissa questions about the course rather than the students).

The students (mainly Enid and Wednesday cause they ship it) have had enough of their bickering (which is clearly flirting) and one day lock them in the classroom together telling them they aren't letting them go until they work out whatever silly rivalry they have with each other. This leads to a confession from Larissa that she finds r attractive and she doesn't actually hate them which r laughs at because they knew the whole time and was using it as a way to flirt with Larissa because she looks so adorable angry and because they like a partner who intellectually challenges them.

Saying that larissa weems had nothing personal against you would be a blatant lie. It was very personal.

She hadn’t agreed to hiring you but you were a direct board hire. She hated many things about this. One, she didn’t have control over the situation. Two, there was something about you that set her off. Three, you were attractive, so attractive.

You plagued everything inch of her mind and she hated every second of it. Larissa barely tolerated you, being around you made her feel things she didn’t want to feel. And oh she made it known that she didn’t like you, the staff, students, hell even parents knew. Nobody could pinpoint why, you were a good teacher and certainly loved by all.

Larissa went as far as to join your lessons, claiming it was to revise your work since you were known to be a little unconventional, she wanted to know how your class worked. Which turned into a back and fourth of you both trying to catch eachother fail or be short on information, this carried on until the end of the class and did not go unnoticed by the students.

This was becoming the norm. Every day the two of you would go back and fourth. Every week she found something to call you into her office for. Every month she sat in class, which she actually found to be very entertaining but would never admit.

You got under eachothers skin like no other, and everyone could see it. And this constant bickering of yours caught the eye of your students, more specifically, Enid and (hesitantly) Wednesday.

One day after class, all the students made their way out but like always Larissa stayed behind, she always had a petty remark or a look to give and you lived for every single one. What you didn’t notice was the two plotting girls standing outside the door, not until you heard it slam shut.

Larissa sighed, assuming maybe it was a misbehaving student trying to gain attention or be funny. That is until she tried to push the door open and it wouldn’t budge. Then Wednesdays voice chimed in.

“You two are gonna stay in here until you figure out and solve whatever issues you have with eachother, Enids blocking the door, so you really have no choice.” You scoffed. “Since when do you care about anything, ever, Wednesday.”

“I don’t, it’s just interesting to study you both and I’m looking for a muse for my writing. Also Enid cares, and I’m being forced.” That last part was a lot more quiet, Larissa gave you an unamused look and sat on your desk.

Smiling, you sat across from her. “So٫ Larissa Weems, what 𝙞𝙨 your issue with me?"

“Are you truly giving in to their antics?” you noticed Larissa actively trying to avoid you. You stood and walked up to her.

“Mhm, if you have any better ideas please do suggest! I don’t know about you but being locked up in a room that’s not my own isn’t my favorite pastime. I’d like to get out of here, and I actually want to know what your problem is.”

You noticed the blush spreading across Larissa’s face and she cleared her throat avoiding your gave, opting to look down at her hands instead.

“It is near impossible for me to know how to act around you.” She was quiet, barely speaking loud enough for only you to hear. With a sigh, she continued.

“At first I didn’t like you being around because I had no control over your hire. I’m sure you know I like things being in my control. But I got used to you, I started liking you. How you teach and act I mean you’ve effortlessly gained everyone’s affection. My issue with you is that I like you. Maybe too much.”

You tried to suppress a laugh and failed, making her look at you embarrassed and confused. “I thought you looked cute when you were angry but I think I like you better all flustered.”

Larissa frowned, still not quite grasping what you just admitted.

“Darling, what I’m saying is I like you too. I like that you challenge me constantly and I like how adorable you get when you don’t get your way, I like the care you have for every student, I like you Larissa Weems, even while you try to make my life impossible, maybe even more so because you do.”

She pouted. Strong, intimidating Larissa Weems pouted at you. “You- like me. And actively looked for things you knew would set me off because it’s cute? Unbelievable!”

And with that you took her face in your hands, a smile on your lips. “Like I said, adorable.”

“You are insufferable.” She mumbled, though she couldn’t find it in herself to tear her eyes away from you. “Hm, apparently you quite like that about me too.”

He plays favourites with the younger Heros for sure. But hes still making them have there “God?? Is that you” moments like everyone else.

Hell he could follow Superman around and always make his cape flow against the wind and the Hero wouldn’t know wtf is going on. Maybe Superman hears a very slight snickering maybe but the prank is harmless enough so why worry too much. I mean it’s probably bad someone can do this without getting detected till they give themselves away by laughing but nothing harmful yet. (Yet would emphasise Batman)

I don’t know anything about GreenArrow but I assume he uses a bow and arrow so I could imagine Danny grabbing his arrows and making them fly in crazy wild paths before hitting their mark.

Idk honestly how he would fuck with GreenLatern besides like using his ghost powers to try and one up his ring. Like Lantern makes a shield? Danny makes a better one next to it or in front of it. Tbh it’s actually helping Danny get better at his powers so he does this a lot rip Hal (I did not know he was played by Ryan Reynolds maybe ill watch the newer movie)

He refuses to mess with Wonder Woman because the Phandom has told me she is his fav thus he refuses to prank her. He respects her too much and is a huge enough fan that hes too nervous to even approach. Thus she thinks she is this pranksters least favourite since she is never bothered.

Aqua-man (thx for the correction siri) is pretty fun to prank because Danny can follow the man underwater. Idk anything about science of it but imagine Danny like making a space he can talk in with his ice powers (making a bubble of sorts) to make spooky noises at ?Arthur? (R we seriously going with Arthur in this one?) like I assume without actual fish related powers, or with them I havent seen any thing aquaman, you can’t talk underwater. But also if Danny figures out his real name hes 100% gonna be playing the Hey Arthur theme at this man all the time.

He just lowkey overshadows cyborg. Not in a controlling way but just along for the ride kinda way. He was gonna make remarks about his tech but ended up being stunned by how good it is. “Fam I aint gonna lie. Whe it comes to the hyung line, the company goes a little bit hard and extra each time and they often do this with the members they think are least likely to perform in terms of numbers.

However, this time around, I think it has something to do with the enrollment list? Don't know, could be wrong. The thought that JM or Namjoon is next after Hobi makes me sick to the tummy and I hope I'm wrong 😭😭😭

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they going off of the enlistment list and need to do whatever they can for Hobi before he leaves.

They are going to leave everything on the shoulder of the fans and then swoop in last minute to claim they did shit for the BOYS when things turn out great.

They should show me the budget they have for each members' promotional package. Let's start there. Cos that determines how and where each member gets promoted.

On the flip side, having those two contents out around the same time reduces promotion costs as such content tend to cross promote eachother. Face will definitely drive traffic to Hobi's content as will Hobi's content to Face.

Personally I wished they would release vminkook albums consecutively within a short span of eachother. People listening to face will be more likely to click on Jk's song and Tae's right after. It keeps the fans engaged, keeps the momentum going and keeps all three trending on the charts making it hard for an outsider to break the chain.

They could have done same for the hyung line too.

All this seem to lack direction and each day my non existent faith in hybe wanes.

I hope the end would justify the means. Hopefully. I'm gonna sit tightly out here and watch it all play out to the credits and then I will comment on it😌

I have. I wanted to wait until there was solid evidence that proved Fred innocent or guilty before really posting on this so, right now, I’m just going to view him as innocent unless he’s proven guilty. Some people believed right away he was guilty and they had fun being petty but they’re doing EXACTLY what they hate was done with William so I don’t get that logic. I won’t lie, some drama is arousing to me but not cheating—especially not when it comes to a married couple of like 20 years with children, that’s not amusing or something to consider lightly.

I don’t get why some people can only see how wrong it is to be unjustifiably accusatory towards royals when there’s no evidence when it’s their favorites but right when it comes to other royals they immediately assume and whatever they believe without evidence is right. Then have the nerve to cover up their bias towards certain royals by pretending it’s just to jab at others in the fandom (bc some danish royal fans were having fun with the rumors about William and Catherine) but everyone is wrong for entertaining something so terrible as cheating without having solid proof first. Frederik never made petty comments or statements saying he believed William cheated on Catherine so what is justified in not giving him the benefit of the doubt as well? Such superiority complex in this fandom, it’s so stupid. Again, I’m not saying the people spreading rumors about William and Catherine aren’t wrong for it, but how are you gonna @ people for having done exactly what you’re doing now all the while viewing your opinions as valid and holy in all this.

Sneak Peak of Breaking the Cycle chp 4!

Picking up right where we left off and switching up the POV! Thank you all for your comments on the last chapter and sneak peek, and I hope you enjoy this one.

(Henry's point of view)

Something was wrong with Audrey, Henry could tell.

She was hesitant to speak to them, more than she was then she first arrived.

She hardly spoke to Sammy and Norman, and while she spoke more to Henry, it was measured.

It had to have been the day the Keepers took her and her alone. Something happened that day.

The question was, what could have happened to so violently throw her off-kilter?

It had made her distrusting of her friends, so it must have had something to do with her cellmates.

Then Henry remembered that in their earlier times with her, she mentioned that Wilson wanted something with her, so much that he specifically instructed her to seek him out and he ordered the citizens of the studio to hunt her down.

'Wilson must have called her to him,' Henry deduced. 'He did something.'

Now there was a new question; what did he do?

Did he show her sonething? Tell her something?

Whatever it was, it made her distrust and doubt her companions.

Then it hit Henry.

'Did he...tell her about what Sammy and Norman did before they were jailed?'

Getting THAT truth dropped on her would make Audrey distrust them. The thought that you were surrounded by murderers was a...frightening thought, indeed.

But what was Henry supposed to do if that was the case? Tell her Wilson lied to her? That would be a lie itself!

And he couldn't tell her that Sammy and Norman had changed for certain, she might not believe him due to how often the two screamed at each other, threatening death.

And what if he was wrong in assuming what had happened to her? She might be angry at him for assuming how she was feeling and clam up more.

It was obvious Audrey was anxious and upset about something, but Henry didn't know how to go about it, or how to help Audrey.

But it would be evident that something had to change, upon the next day.

It was a relatively normal day, Sammy and Norman were arguing, and it was to the point that to avoid discomfort, you had to cover your ears.

However, what Henry did not expect was for Audrey to start screaming.

"I GET IT! YOU HATE EACH OTHER BECAUSE OF THE INK DEMON! YOU UTTERLY DESPISE EACH OTHER AND WANT EACH OTHER AND EVERYBODY AROUND YOU DEAD! CAN YOU JUST SHUT THE HELL UP FOR FIVE MINUTES!" Audrey shrieked, completely losing it.

Since this came out of nowhere, everyone in the room was in stunned silence for a second.

However, surprising Henry, Sammy was quick to see what was wrong.

"Little sheep, is something wrong-" "DO YOU EVEN HAVE TO ASK?! When is anything not wrong in this place?! Everything I know is a lie, the people around me are obsessed with killing, and I'm going to die here in a glass box!" Sammy started, but was cut off by Audrey's ranting.

"I am NOT obsessed with killing, little sheep! I only do it when it is necessary, in the name of my lord!"

"That's the problem! You kill off anyone who dares to so much as breathe in a way that you deem 'sacrilege'! All you care about is the Ink Demon!"

"Well, NEWSFLASH! He's not coming to save you, or anyone! We're all gonna rot in here!"

It was then that Henry decided that he had to do something to help her, here and now.

"...Audrey, look, something has clearly been bothering you for the past month, and bottling it up has led to you snapping, so can you just talk to us?" Henry asked.

Audrey sat in silence for a moment, pondering his question, before saying-

God I hope either the OVA or Season 2 gives us more Cherry and Joe backstory cause fuck do they deserve it.

Cherry, honestly, you have extended your hand to Adam far too many times. Honestly, what has he done for you other than take? You try and give your friendship, you try and give a helping hand, you try and give love, and you try and offer a chance to be better, but he won’t take it. It’s not your job to fix him, and at this point it’s hurting you more than you realize.

Not gonna lie, when I first watched Sk8, I actually put a little hope into Adam, watching him lose his voice after he pulled Cherry’s card. His little “Oh” had me thinking he actually had a soul for a hot second.

The one outcome Joe didn’t want coming true. God can you imagine, even if he won against Langa, he’d still have had to watch Adam and Cherry’s beef?!

Cherry: I’ve been waiting for this day. Adam: I didn’t want to compete against you. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you. I hate you.

I do actually like that Joe can flirt with people he only probably expects a passionate one-night stand, or something of a short relationship from. But, when it’s someone he truly loves, he loses his voice and becomes flustered.

Adam: Hey, how long is this little skit of yours going to go on? It’s about time to start. Me: Aww, is someone jealous he gave up his only two friends and that they still find happiness in each other? Sounds like a you problem.

Joe: Be careful. He’s not the old Adam. Cherry: I don’t need you to tell me that. Oof the double meaning in that.

I like the way that Sk8 shows that Cherry’s current feelings for Adam aren’t romantic. When he gets hit, the image that shatters isn’t the one of the two of them looking into each other’s eyes or when Adam calls them special. It’s the one of him with Adam and Joe. The one of them laughing and being happy, something that he wishes that they all could have again.

I’m so gonna make a post on Adam’s boring comment. Like, how can I not? He’s so full of shit it’s actually insane. Like, I’m sorry you’re not letting yourself have fun.

hello!!! anons are totally fine always. thanks so much for reaching out! & i’m sorry for the delay, i only check my inbox every so often.

i’m assuming you’re referencing this article! i had never read it before, so this was my first time being exposed to it and i subsequently don’t have a well-formulated take yet so much as some preliminary thoughts! i’ve gone ahead and bulleted them below. i’m also aware that, since this is an older piece, there may be a breadth of pre-existing discourse and academic discussion about this, in which i’m not yet well versed, so i invite anyone (especially my dc mutuals) to chime in or send me their own thoughts. okay. here goes!

i think graeber is correct to comment on how superhero media is often reacting to the current sociopolitical climate. it’s well documented that following 9/11, many superheroes were written as militarized in ways they had not been previously, and seeing that as accidental ignores the fact that everyone in the writers’ and editors’ rooms for these comics is influenced by the world in which they’re living and often respond to that world within their work. this can be intentional or accidental, and it’s not a binary thing, either — writers can seek to intentionally respond to a current issue (think of the after-school-special style comic books written in the 80s and 90s) and also replicate unconscious bias that they’ve internalized through their experiences in a white supremacist, cisnormative, ableist, heteropatriarchal society.

additionally, in some senses many comic books have always been reactionary. superman was created by two jewish men in response to the global rise of fascism and nazism and there were panels where he specifically took down hitler. superhero comic books depict worlds parallel to our own, with various kinds of inequality and injustice portrayed and philosophical questions posed that are similar to some of the ones we chew on in our day-to-day lives. it’s another medium enabling us to confront difficult situations and ideas from a safe distance.

i specifically roll my eyes at the use of freudian psychology as a legitimate basis for analysis, and i also acknowledge that freud’s “psychology” was far more based in literary analysis and criticism than it ever was in scientific engagement with the human mind, so i understand graeber’s use of it here. it just pisses me off which is my own thing to feel and deal with as someone who hates freud and heard too much about him in one of my english classes this past year.

a lot of graeber’s points about the creation of laws and morality were really really interesting. i think on their own some of them are very well worded. i think he slightly half-assed the transition to discussing comics again though, i’m not gonna lie.

i think graeber also missed a really good moment in analyzing the role of individual moral codes in superhero media. batman’s self-imposed code against killing, for example, is not solely put in place due to outside influences. it’s also something bruce believes in for better or for worse given that (when he’s written well) he’s a big believer in the ability of people to change and improve. what’s often unfortunate about batman is that he’s not consistently written to be aware of systemic factors that influence or destroy people’s abilities to truly be able to choose. a frequent critique of batman is that he beats up on people in poverty — while this is often frustrating to hear since, narratively speaking, bruce wayne is funding most of gotham’s social services himself, the point about bruce and his class divide is in some ways a valid one. this is why i find the fact that several members of the batfamily are working class to be so fascinating; if written well, there is a lot of potential for bruce’s weak points to be addressed and critiqued. alas. anyways back to the point. bruce imposes this code on others with a well-known inflexibility. yet he does follow it himself. many dc superheroes have similar personal code structures, and they do not usually consider themselves above them.

graeber describes superheroes to have a “parasitical” relationship with villains in the way that cops do with criminals. i have complicated feelings about this statement, partially because it displays an understanding of policing that i view as partially incomplete. systems of policing don’t just somewhat rely on crime to exist — they require crime, and if no such “crime” exists, they create it. modern policing exists to protect property and enable the status quo; the (capitalist) status quo requires inequity to exist, as well as a good/bad binary. even if the societal conditions that create most of what are considered crimes were properly addressed and people were cared for sufficiently, the existence of policing REQUIRES that some be subjugated and labeled illegal in order to justify its continuance. i think graeber understands this, and that he’s pointing to how superheroes need crime to fight, but the parasite imagery sort of ignores this requirement and the way that policing creates “crime”. a parasite flits from food source to food source, draining it until it’s dry. the police force creates more supposed crime to prey upon. that doesn’t feel like quite the same. but (back to superheroes) without villains, there isn’t a story that looks the same, i’ll give him that.

wrt graeber’s analysis of the nolan batman movies, i will admit that i haven’t seen any of those movies in actual ages. i don’t think i can respond to that analysis except to say that i think some narratives in all batman media are fundamentally flawed from a political standpoint and it doesn’t surprise me if those are replicated or furthered in some of the movie adaptations by other rich people who are out of touch w how the world works. lol.

also (and this has less to do with the article itself and more to do with what it made me think about) i think it’s important to acknowledge that the relationship most superheroes have with the policing and carceral systems is an inherently conservative one. the question of what should be done with those who have committed crimes is rarely interrogated beyond the handing off of the villain of the week to the cops, who supposedly are equivalent to justice. this false equivalency is partially because it is “easier” for writers to end the story there and restart the cyclical story than to actually reckon with the systems that they are imitating and recreating uncritically in their work. the relationship of the superhero and the cop is a cornerstone of the genre — in many cases, it is the cop who is seen as the legitimate face of justice, and the relationship between the two is an enabling one. examining the roots of the policing system requires a different story be told entirely and it is not a story i have seen in many comics as of yet.

i love graeber’s point about how anarchists are villainized. i think it’s incredibly true and that the way media affects our perceptions of our lived realities is hugely important w this. many people don’t understand anarchism because they’ve only seen representations of them that double as anti-anarchist propaganda and are repelled from the getgo.

i also really like where he talks about how constituent/collective power hasn’t been accurately represented in superhero universes. i think we’ve seen some (perhaps feeble) attempts since he wrote the article but that on the whole it holds up.

i hope this was at least an interesting response if not a thorough one! happy to revisit the piece further if you have specific parts you’d like me to look at/respond to or follow up questions about any of my thoughts. thanks for sharing the piece!

I think I’m vaguely ~triggered~ and I’m feeling nauseous and weird so this is gonna come out rambly as hell and I apologize but: 

Not only is this true, it’s expected.

Not only are people taught that others don’t experience love, there is at the very least an implication that they are not capable of it and are inherently evil unless you show them the light and they choose to overcome that evil and accept Jesus as their savior.

Not only is this implication there, but it becomes your duty and purpose in life to save everyone you possibly can from an eternity of torment and suffering.

Not only is that your duty and job, if you fail your love will be a punishment because everyone you love will be lost. 

And the only way to convince them to “save themselves” is to make them see how desperately they are in need of redemption, which usually comes out in a woefully misguided stream of “love” through comments about how fundamentally wrong, evil, and disgusting we all are. 

Your entire life is meant to be spent in anxiety and fear disguised as “hope” and “love” because this life means nothing but at the same time if you get it wrong you and everyone you love will suffer and burn forever. 

(Now, there are varying viewpoints on this, but even those who don’t believe in all of the “lake of fire” bs tend to define hell as a separate plane of existence distanced from God in emotional torment forever.) 

As for indulging in sin, it can be as basic as exposure to or experiencing anything from the “secular” world. Non-Christian music. Non-Christian movies. Non-Christian books. 

I was told by a very close friend as a teenager that she had “seen demons entering my home” because I dared to read Harry Potter. I was told that I should stop watching my favorite movie because I was “too enthralled by it” and was “dangerously close to worshipping false idols”. I was told that my depression was a product of the secular world and that it was “demonic” and “a bad influence on those around me”.

Your worth is determined by how clean you keep yourself from these and other “sins”. You are not supposed to love or care about anything on this earth more than the potential for what comes after, and doing otherwise is worshipping false idols.

I used to lie awake at night desperately anxious because when it came down to it, of course I loved my mom and dad more than I loved this God I had never seen or heard or really ever felt, no matter how much I was supposed to pretend otherwise. So if the rapture were to come right then and there, would I go to hell for loving my earthly parents more than my “heavenly father”? Would they, because I failed them? My grandma wasn’t a Christian, she was definitely going to go to hell... how did I fail her so badly? 

Can you imagine that kind of pressure and anxiety at eight fucking years old? 

It’s exhausting and terrifying and so, so damaging to grow up believing with all of your heart that at any given moment the world may end, damning possibly you and others you love to eternal suffering, but that if you “do your job right” you can “save” them. All you have to do is make them hate themselves first. 

I am grateful every single day that my parents were never completely in it like the other people in our social circles were. I listened to secular music and read books and watched movies, and their biggest concerns in life were that I was happy and that I was kind. 

But I also went to Christian school K-12 and Christian college. Whether or not it was being taught at home, I was exposed to it and absorbed it from mentors, teachers, and peers constantly. And when that’s your social circle, you just kind of assume everyone believes it because of course no one is going to say otherwise and invite doubt and speculation against themselves! So I never voiced any of these concerns with anyone until I reached late high school, I was devastatingly depressed and anxious, and I realized I couldn’t do it anymore. 

I said this a couple years ago (one year ago?) and most of the comments on tumblr actually did not know this, so to reiterate what you’re up against: a VERY mainstream belief among American Christian fundamentalists is that they are the only ones who experience love. They raise their kids to think that everyone “living in sin” (all other faiths, atheists, and LGBT people) goes through life sad and empty, falsely believing they know what love feels like, and will never know until they’re “saved.” It’s not as simple as them diminishing the humanity of others out of hate, but being deeply brainwashed to believe others are automatically mentally less human. They are also very good at convincing new converts that they really are experiencing this “real” love for the “first time;” the same way members of all cults can become wholeheartedly convinced that they’re receiving psychic alien messages or communing with spirits. Cult conditioning is simply that powerful.

chapter one — b.e.b.

                  “  deep  breath  in  ,  deep  breath  out  .   “  those  were  the  only  words  repeating  through  the  long  -  haired  girls  head  as  she  passed  through  security  for her new job . it was strange to be this nervous , especially for brooke . everyone in her life knew that she was the one to excel at everything , she had been that way since the day she was born . from day one , she was already ahead of everyone else , surpassing everyone in standardized testing and skipping grades every chance she was allowed so it was no surprise to anyone when the girl was out of high school by sixteen , continuing her studies at stanford , just a few plane rides away from where she grew up in the midwest . still , none of that could have prepared her for the nerves she was feeling this very instant . making her way through the lobby and to the elevator , she smiled as she saw a blonde in bright colored clothing holding it open for her . muttering a thank you , she laughed quietly at the excited woman's persona . " you make me feel so dull . i guess next time i'll have to put on some more color . " the brunette looked down at her unusually boring color combo . between the dark grey pants paired with a white button up and matching vest , the girl was nothing but boring in comparison . " i'm brooke , by the way . brooke burke . i'm starting in the behavioral analysis unit today . " she was taken by surprise when the girl practically jumped in the air with excitement . " oh my god ! you're the newbie ! i'm penelope garcia , i can't wait to introduce you to the rest of the team ! morgan's gonna love you . " brooke laughed at the face being made her way . she wished she could say that she wasn't used to comments like that but it'd be a lie . she knew she was easy on the eyes , even if she'd never admit it herself . she honestly hated comments about her appearance as she took much more pride in her intelligence and personality . the tapping of the blonde's heels brought her back into reality as she followed behind , walking towards some sort of conference room . she was immediately greeted by two familiar faces , aaron hotchner and david rossi , the two who she had met through the hiring process . " wow , is pretty boy not the baby anymore ? " the girls head snapped around to see a rather muscular man , smiling instantly as the two made eye contact . " pretty boy ? " she asked , a look of confusion painted across her face . " i guess that would be , uh , me . " this caused Brooke to whip her head back around , making eye contact with the taller man sporting a messily buttoned shirt paired with a navy cardigan . she noticed the slight shift in his expression when their eyes met and how his grip on his bag got slightly tighter . " you're spencer reid . " she stated , the entire room filling with confusion . " i sat in on a guest lecture you did once . brilliant joke about the existentialists and the lightbulb . " she could see the mans face start to turn a slight shade of pink and could barely hear the ' thank you ' that had escaped his lips as a groan came from who she assumed was the man garcia had told her about mere moments before . " do not encourage him . " were the last words spoken before hotch got straight to business , informing everyone there was a case .

The German poem of “the Raven and the Fox” reminded me of a short request like this. HCs of Yae x Tengu reader that has trust issues and low self-esteem and doesn’t believe Yae means any of the compliments.

a/n: I'm gonna assume you meant "The Fox and the Crow", because "the raven and the Fox" may be the german poem, but instead of cheese, the fox gets a piece of poisoned meat and dies in that one and is more of a parody of the original. But hey, if I somehow got it wrong, just say so.

Also, this one is longer than my usual ones. I hope you are satisfied with it, if not feel free to tell me what I did wrong.

Yae Miko

It was always weird for the people of Inazuma to see the Yae Miko talk with someone in ways other than either complete professional or teasing, so when they saw the way, she acted around you, most of them got confused, especially her writers, some of which had to endure her teasing for years on end.

You weren’t completely exempt from her teasing, but instead of the humiliating and stress inducing comments she would throw at others just for her own amusement, her way talking to you bordered on flirting. But while there were some that would kill to be in your shoes, you had a hard time believing anything of what she said. You had seen first hand how she loved to play with people’s emotions just for fun, so there was no doubt in your mind, that she was trying to do the same with you.

If only you knew how serious she was.

As you quickly marched through the streets of Inazuma, trying your best to get home as fast as possible without drawing too much attention to yourself, you let out a sigh of relief when you finally saw your own home, only for all your positive emotions to get drained when you saw Yae. At first, you hope she wouldn’t sight you, but those hopes quickly got shattered when the two of you made eye contact and you saw her walk towards you.

“What a coincidence to meet you here”, Yae stated once she stood in front of you. Coincidence? You were only a few steps away from your home, of course she would find you here. But instead of saying anything, you simply gave her a forced smile, only to see her look you up and down, causing you to get nervous and look at your clothes, fearing that there was something like dirt on it.

“Where are your wings?”, she eventually asked in an innocent voice that was obviously fake. Of course, it was going in this direction. You had made the mistake to let her see your wings once, even though you hated displaying them, you thought they made you look weird and constantly reminded everyone around you, that you were different. It was the reason you hid them under your clothes, making you feel uncomfortable and causing you to rush home in hopes you finally wouldn’t have to worry about them anymore. And your plan would have worked, if only Yae didn’t exist.

“Could it be… that you are ashamed of them?”, bingo, within an instant Yae’s innocent act stopped, exposing a smug on her face, causing you to blush a bit in embarrassment. “You don’t have to, I think they are beautiful from what I saw”, she complimented you, probably nothing more than a lie that should stop you from vanishing into your home, but you would lie if you said her flattery didn’t make you happy, nonetheless.

You took a step forward, hoping she would go the side so you may finally enter your home, but instead she took a step back. This whole process got repeated until you were merely one or two steps away from your door, causing you to stop and look at her with slightly annoyed eyes.

“Lady Yae, I would lie if I said your comments don’t succeed in making be a bit flustered, but I have no clue what you hope to get through your flattery, so may you please step to the side and let me enter my home?”, you tried sounding as polite as possible while hiding the ever growing frustration caused by the uncomfortable feeling of your wings being stuck between your body and clothes.

“Flattery? How cute of you to assume I am joking”, she stated, causing your eyes to widen while your body grew tense due to nervousness. But you tried your best not to give your true feelings away, and so you hoped to regain your composure as quickly as possible.

“Then just tell me what you want. If you’re only here to play with my emotions, then I must ask you to leave me alone”, you eventually broke the silence that had appeared after her last comment.

“Go out with me once, and I’ll show you how serious I mean everything I tell you”, she responded in the same teasing voice she always spoke to you with. You were taken by complete surprise, the whole time you had suspected that she wanted you to confess before rejecting you, so her making the first move wasn’t something you had expected. It probably still was some sort of trap, but not only would you finally get to enter your home if you accepted, she might leave you alone completely after crushing your hopes. Now that you thought about it, you didn’t like the last part. Not only would it hurt your pride, but no matter how many times you’d deny it, you had grown accustomed to Yae’s teasing presence in your life.

“F-Fine. I’ll go out with you once. But if it turns out to be some sort of pr-”, you didn’t even have the chance to finish the stuttering mess you called a response, since you were immediately cut off by Yae.

“It’s not a plan to humiliate you. Why would I ruin my chances to get with someone as amusing as you?”, she stated, causing your face to turn as red as a tomato. “Well, I’ll see you tomorrow. Bye”, Yae said her goodbyes while shooting you one of her usual teasing smiles, but this one seemed too genuine to be fake, before leaving your frozen form alone.
