Y'all I just want to say that there has been a drastic shift in my overall mood for the better since changing commands. This is largely attributed to those I work with and for, but also my situation is as perfect as it can be: New rank which means new opportunities for growth, and orders to a first-in-class aircraft carrier which will do far less damage to my already broken body than any other platform.

I am much happier on a ship, at sea. It comes with its own sort of bullshit but I'd take some of that over shore duty bullshit and favoritism any day. I feel like myself and I can let my personality show.

Going overseas was best for my body and brain to allow more time to feel good and heal, as well financially as the tax free pay allowed me to nearly max out my contribution to my retirement fund. Depression struggled with me though, given the nature of the job I was doing (I am not meant to sit at a computer for 12 hours) and the people I worked with. I was not in a good environment.

I hope this feeling of rejuvenation will translate to this blog, despite Sea Duke's absence, and we can have a better time when I'm not actually underway doing ship things and being an absolute badass.
