I was never 100% sure if they were or not (I’m always super hype about it anyway!), but honestly, isn’t the bigger question… why are you bookmarking something you don’t like??? (If someone has a genuine answer for this, I would actually love to hear it! Because right now, the idea of that is literally nothing but confusing to me—like, why would you want it under your bookmarks if you don’t like it?)

So while Pigsy can attest that MK is adopted, that’s kinda even worse because now there’s no one who can attest to how MK came to be, Pigsy can take Tang out of the blame list so that’s good, and while Macaque can take Wukong’s name out of the blame list because he wouldn’t abandon a child, that don’t mean MK’s “other parent” wouldn’t have the guts to do it

I also want to say how Macaque doesn’t outright accuse Wukong about anything, I think I’ve mentioned he technically has no right in a way, but he beats around the bush and does small comments and insinuates things trying to get Wukong to spill the beans while trying to act like he’s indifferent to it (newsflash he is not)

Any au that has Jason willingly working for the government even if it’s as a social worker has automatically kinda lost me because we’re talking about someone who distrusts the system so much that as a child he chose the streets over going into custody of social services. Jason’s lack of faith in institutions continues into adulthood (but also through his original Robin tenure low key), one of the most substantial differences between his and Bruce’s philosophy is the fact that Bruce puts his faith in the law and the criminal justice system while Jason decidedly does not in the slightest

I don't know what the actual odds are, since as extensively discussed Matt's really been tap-dancing around the line of good narrative judgment, but they should be zero. Either this would require giving Laura an amount of information such that it would be nearly impossible for her to play Imogen going forward (never mind just the regular logistics of like, unless the point is that Laudna goes in alone, I would think Imogen should be there in the scene and fully able to react); or you're sticking her there with little to no direction in a campaign where the biggest problem is a lack of direction. Like, I'm sure she would embody the Raven Queen well, because she is a good actress, but it's the same idea as why Marisha doesn't play Keyleth in Campaign 3.

I'm strapping on my clown shoes to say a thing I really appreciate about Rolin's interviews and the ways he talks about responsibility and accountability in the context of iwtv is that it feels, to me, focused on the idea that people who have been marginalized and pushed into corners are still people, making choices. and an essential part of personhood (and I would say with respect to Claudia and Armand in particular also adulthood) is the dignity of having the agency behind those choices respected and acknowledged. Including when those choices are harmful or selfish or shortsighted. and I think this is such a delicate area because it's so easy to cross the line into victim blaming and bootstraps but if they can stick the landing I will appreciate it so much.

Tbh, I don’t understand why Sepha didn’t just send Malbonte - not Bont or Mal, Malbonte - down to Earth, as a fallen angel, to be with his parents? Like, he wouldn’t have ever been able to come back, right? So it’d ‘solve the threat.’

I mean, I guess the answer is just ‘plot,’ but it’s a boring answer. The little bit we got of Sepha, I got the impression he’s not even able to grasp his own cruelty—like he doesn’t try to be, yet still is, anyway. And I guess part of that makes sense, with him being an unbelievably ancient deity and all, but it doesn’t explain his actions about Malbonte, when Earth was right there.

I've been seeing you post a LOT about newsies recently and I'm intrigued by your little posts but I'm an anti to spoilers so i haven't been able to enjoy them just yet

i was wondering on a way how u may find it eaaaasiest on getting into it ? or just a fun list of medias to consume as i do so so i can at least have a sense of direction 💀

ahaha hiya !!! it's been like four posts (i have two* newsies followers HELP (u guys r awesome i'm just scared of u))

i watched the 1992 movie, then the 2017 musical adaptation both times with friends who'd already watched it (ily inkbagel <333 (and yoshi(and ziggy))) which helped clear up any "who's that", and "is he fr????"s. the musical does cut some storylines and add new additions so i'd recommend my experience (1992 then 2017) to see the creative changes (sorta like the outsiders where i'd typically recommend novel then film/musical)

going into it with the vague knowledge of striking newsies in the late 1800s— 'newspapers lads', subtitles and a google search of character-actors is about all you need! both the movie n musical do a pretty job of contextualising (i think moreso the movie for me personally) (i don't think striking newsies is a spoiler) (can you spoil historical events..?)

if you'd like How i watched em hmu in dms 😌 or just like any questions or funny commentary tbh

note: the 1992 movie is a musical film but not a Musical movie -> that confused the shit out of me for a hot sec

That being said, I was not prepared for the sudden influx of Sad Dog x Bright Dog art you've been sharing recently! Machete having the potential of being loved and enjoying tenderness despite himself is one of The Best reveals of 2023. I enjoy how you express his relationship and struggles just as much as i enjoyed the stand alone pieces you've shared.

dare I say this patch is better than the entire penacony arc, for me at least. idk, it feels less dialogue-heavy than penacony. the characters are still using more words than they need to, but not to the point where i question if their throat is getting dry. except aglaea, I think 😭 but i think that part was intentional lmao. all in all, definitely left an impression, but a foreboding one.
