crazy how in c2 they'll have three extensive convos checking in with each other while traveling like an hour in-game meanwhile in c3 they've been on the moon for days and still haven't discussed the following:
laudna fucking ate a guy
imogen's mom is a mythical legend amongst the enemy
orym vs. laudna's response to imogen giving into predathos
how did chetney suddenly learn to make hypnotizing toys
delilah briarwood
"some of us are expendable, we should get captured"
anything and everything they said during the trust exercise, including but not limited to:
laudna not being able to distinguish her thoughts from delilah's
imogen's disgust at delilah's inevitable presence
chetney's fear that his new family will leave him
orym's feelings about dorian
fcg relieving stress through murder
fearne's insecurities about their chances of success
ashton's guilt about the shard
and more!

(So sorry i feel like im spamkmg yoyr ask box but i just rotate this au around in my brain like microve)
So i was checking out the posts linked through your coi au master post, and this part:
Tumblr media
Did this this cut more deep than Donnie intended? Like does Leo still think about this one line even months past? Like does he think, as hes going on his nightly falling/flying sesions how his brothers couldnt even think of leaving april behind but didn't hesitate to leave him behind
Meanwhile donnie and bros dont see it that that. They see leo as equal, even without wings, they never once thought of it as leaving him behind. Because hes their brother, theyd NEVER leave him behind.
But then that got me thinking... did they accidentally like ACTUALLY leave leo behind that first night donnie made his wings. Cause i can see donnie and the ither two being caught up in the joy of flying together for the first time, maybe going too fast for leo to keep up on the rooftops, cementing the idea in his head that his bros dont need him.
This is long winded lol i just got angst on my mind 😭
Spam me all you want!! I may not be able to promise I’ll get to every ask I ever receive, I just don’t have that time, but I CAN promise that I see, read, and overthink everything anyone sends me (ง’̀-‘́)ง So send away!!
As for your question: Absolutely, yes, that moment struck Leo down to his core — but not like. Personally. He knows Donnie didn’t mean it like that! Realistically, he understands that his brothers/sister care just as much about him as he does about them. They’d never purposefully leave him behind!! At the end of the day, he trusts that, should he ever get seriously knocked down, his family would turn right back around to help him get back up.
But he still has a MAJOR barrier that he sees between them. One that Donnie AND April are now able to literally fly over. And now that he’s outnumbered, that wall feels even higher than before. He’s not alone, not ever, but it certainly feels like it sometimes…
And all of that is exactly why he doesn’t want to say anything. He not only feels a little silly to have this impossible dream in the first place (his hoard is literally birds and butterflies and shit, that’s so weird and pathetic, isn’t it???), but he doesn’t WANT them to worry about him. He doesn’t want them to turn tail and come back just to make sure he’s keeping up with them. He can’t hold them back like that!
It’s better to pretend he’s on the same level, train himself into the ground (even literally if that’s what it takes) to prove he’s on the same level, make them focus on his stellar swimming skills that are (to them) on par to their flying, than for them to ever realize that all he’ll ever do is look up at them from below.
Also, yes, after Dee made his first fully functioning flight pack, they all went on a quick flight around the city. April was the one to suggest they move it to the ocean so Leo could at least keep up with them and cheer them on…

So I have a question for my fandom nerds and fanfiction people out there. Have you ever read a fic that literally altered your world view or stuck with you for years upon years? If so, what is it and what fandom?

:O what is set in stone? If you don't mind me asking. I'd love to hear the gory details, if you want to spill them
set in stone is my forever-in-progress novel that is more concept than actual written word at this point LOL. i dont really have any gory details to tell you but feel free to peruse the 'hiromi tag,' 'finch tag,' 'rabia tag', 'aquilina tag,' and 'aeirin' tag if you want vague personalities/concepts-in-the-form-of-text-posts because thats about all i can give you

extended bio - ritsuka fujimaru
Tumblr media
general information
basic info
name: ritsuka fujimaru age: 16-24 (depending on point in timeline; defaults to 22) gender: fem-aligned nonbinary pronouns: she/they orientation: pansexual + polyamorous species: human nationality: japanese ethnicity: yamato japanese birth date: june 25th, 2001
appearance
height: 166cm / 5'5" build: leanly muscled hair: bright orange, cut just past the shoulders with locks framing her face. usually keeps a section in a side ponytail, held up by a scrunchie. eyes: yellow-orange, sometimes with bags under them scars: many.
background
in 2017, ritsuka was just an ordinary person when they were suddenly recruited to chaldea, a secret organization that works to preserve humanity. they were brought in as one of 48 master candidates--people who have the potential to summon and form contracts with servants, the spirits of legendary figures summoned as familiars--but as they aren’t a mage, people had low expectations of them. they were even prevented from joining the first major mission, a rayshift to “singularity f” in fuyuki, japan, 2004, after accidentally pissing off the director, olga-marie animusphere. turned out, that was a stroke of luck. the command room was blown up with all 47 other masters inside. they managed to survive, but in such critical condition that they’d need to be kept in cryostasis, leaving ritsuka as the only operational master. they, along with chaldea staff mash kyrielight, rayshifted to fuyuki. there, mash came into her own as a demi-servant--a living human fused with a servant and imbued with their powers--though she couldn’t say who the servant was, and ritsuka became her master. together, they solved singularity f and restored history to its proper course, only to learn of a horrible truth: the incineration of humanity. the past creates the present, which secures the future. seven disruptions at key points in history--seven singularities--had destroyed the present, which in turn prevented the future. the present, simply put, no longer existed outside of chaldea. for the next year and a half, ritsuka and mash worked to solve the seven singularities, guided by acting director dr. romani archaman, genius inventor leonardo da vinci, and the rest of the remaining staff. they went to france in the hundred years war, rome during emperor nero’s reign, the high seas in the age of exploration. in industrial revolution london, they learned who was behind it all. they won an american war that should never have happened in the first place. in camelot, they learned more about mash; in uruk, they learned of the seven beasts, the evils of humanity. and then, finally, in the last week of 2018, after so much sacrifice, they defeated the source of the problem. the present returned to normal. they took back their future. the problems, however, only persisted. the rest of the world had to deal with their missing time, and the un no longer found chaldea trustworthy. moreover, while they were being investigated over the next year, four sub-singularities popped up and had to be dealt with, and mash was no longer operational as a servant. in the end, chaldea was sold to a mage by the name of gordolf musik. its entire staff was to be laid off and replaced by the beginning of 2020, but even that couldn’t go smoothly. gordolf had been manipulated. chaldea was attacked by 3 servants: a shockingly deceptive pink-haired woman, a priest masquerading as kirei kotomine, and a woman who radiated cold, cold, cold. chaldea’s core team--now consisting of da vinci, ritsuka, mash, sherlock holmes, and gordolf--as well as a handful of staff members barely managed to escape, only to see that the outside world was now a blank white nothingness. among the masters who had been frozen were the a team, a carefully selected team consisting of the best of the best: kadoc zemlupus, ophelia phamrsolone, hinako akuta, “scandinavia peperoncino”, beryl gut, daybit sem void, and their leader, kirschtaria wodime. in their revival, they’d made a deal with… something. now each crypter, as they’re called, has a lostbelt--an alternate timeline that should have been pruned, but wasn’t--to manage, with the ultimate goal of one of them overwriting proper human history. seven crypters. seven lostbelts. can ritsuka take back our future a second time?
personality
ritsuka is, by and large, an upbeat person. they roll with the punches and accept whatever comes their way--by this point, it’s nearly impossible to shock or faze them, with everything they’ve seen. of course, that’s not to say they don’t have feelings; the events of the last few years have deeply affected them, and they’re constantly grieving over those they’ve lost. but they can’t let that keep them down. they have a job to do--and they’re the only one who can do it--so they just have to suck it up and deal with it, and let the tears come later. while on the job, they’re quite stern and serious, but in their off-time, they can be very silly. work hard, play hard, as they say. ritsuka approaches everything with equal levels of passion, whether it’s an end of the world scenario or making a last-minute doujin for knock-off comiket.
combat information
general
ritsuka is, technically, a mage, and thus able to use magecraft. that said, they're one of the weakest mages around, with very little magical energy. most of their ability comes from mystic codes and other forms of assistance.
personal abilities
command seals - three seals formed of highly concentrated magic on the back of their right hand. these are the proof that they’re a master. they can be used to cast powerful spells or give their servants orders, and once used come back at a rate of one per day. poison resistance skill (temporary) - as part of their contract with mash kyrielight, they have a resistance to poisons & toxins, high magical energy concentrations, and certain charms. high physical capabilities - though not enough to keep up with a servant, their strength, speed, and stamina are all far above the average. berserker translation - berserkers are known for being nearly incomprehensible, and many of them are outright nonverbal, only communicating in roars or grunts. that doesn’t stop ritsuka from understanding them--not quite as if they were speaking plainly, but close to it. this extends to other characters with similar communication styles!
mystic codes
physical objects--in ritsuka's case, outfits--imbued with magecraft. she has a wide variety of them, each with its own set of skills. a full list can be found [here].
ooc information
timeline
my ritsuka follows the north american server's timeline! i myself don't actively seek out translations of chapters/events before they reach na (though i don't avoid spoilers either), so this works best for me. she is assumed to have been 16 when the game began and ages up on na's anniversary.
canon includes...
all events up to the present day are included in her canon EXCEPT for prisma codes and kogetsukan. they simply never happened. <3 agartha is technically included in her canon, but i, the bedo, did not read it and only vaguely know what happens in it.

Xenosaga II is just the weirdest game. The character designs, blah; the battle system, aggressively unintuitive (like, the first time I played it took my 2/3 of the game to figure out how to effectively fight).
But I swear to God it has the best story of the trilogy, brilliant and emotional and gripping from beginning to end.
Just wish it was more fun to play.

The basics are colonialism. Zionists in Europe decided they wanted to do colonisation like the western Europeans but specifically for Jewish Europeans who were zionists. Keep in mind, there were and are many Jews who reject zionism. So, the Jewish zionists talked to the Europeans with colonies and floated the idea, and Brits took it up and offered them their colonies in Africa, but the zionists decided on Palestine, when the Brits took it over from the ottoman empire. They drew up plans, made connections, had zionist chapters in each continent, and mostly in the US and Europe, with the aim of making a country in Palestine. The Brits were willing to give a small part of Palestine because they wanted to control Palestine, especially Jerusalem. This didn't go down well with the zionists. They started fighting the Brits for independence. The Palestinians had already been fighting for independence even under the ottoman empire. To mess up the Palestinians and zionists fighting them, the Brits lied to both about giving them the territory. The zionists called the Brits bluff, and they teamed up to take Palestine from Palestinians. The US entered the mix officially, and then there was a huge migration of Jewish Europeans into Palestine. All this contributed to the zionists becoming dominant in Palestine and having the upper hand, especially in international recognition. The UN, then only made up of mostly European countries and the US, officially created Israel and gave them their support. The entire operation was to ensure Europe and North America have somewhere to take their Jewish populations, at first. Somewhere along the way, a brand of American Christianity decided to make it about the second coming of Jesus. Regardless of that, the whole situation comes down to a bunch of Europeans decided to colonize Palestine.
I'm gonna start by saying I appreciate you writing this all out anon. I know it takes time and energy on your part and I am genuinely grateful that you were willing to educate me on this issue.
But honestly, the more geopolitical aspects of the Israeli-Palestine conflict are not really what I'm confused about. Like I said, I've taken time to try and educate myself on this issue and the facts surrounding things like military conflict, water rights, encroachments on Palestinian land, etc, are all fairly standardized and I have been able to find *mostly* unbiased and accurate sources on them.
The part where I always get lost is the religious aspects of the conflict. While my understanding is that theological differences are not at the root of the conflict between Israel and Palestine itself, theology does play a significant role in how the conflict is discussed within the U.S. political theater. As a U.S.-American I feel like it's important for me to understand the background and religious implications of how people within my country are talking about this issue so that I can do things like, you know, be an informed voter.
This comes back to my original post because like I said, I am not from an Abrahamic religion. I already have a fundamentally difficult time wrapping my head around things like monotheism or even basing your religious beliefs and practices on scripture because I was raised in a very devout Pagan animist household and that is simply not how we do things.
So as you might imagine, understanding the (usually fundamentalist Christian) religious rhetoric that regularly shows up in U.S. political discussions is hard for me in the simplest of situations. For something like the Israeli-Palestine conflict, which has never once been simple, it becomes downright impossible to decipher. And when I try to ask questions about it I always get a response like this one. Answers that recite the aspects of the geopolitical conflict that I already know, while completely brushing over the religious issues that I'm actually asking about with the assumption that I understand what is being said.
"Somewhere along the way, a brand of American Christianity decided to make it about the second coming of Jesus. Regardless of that-" do you see how this response is difficult for me? I don't understand how they could make it about the second coming of Jesus! Where does that come from? How does that even begin to relate? The responses I get to these questions are always so vague that they don't even give me keywords that I can easily google to help find an answer!
My admittedly muddled understanding is that the tying of the Israeli-Palestine conflict to the rapture is rooted in anti-semitism, and I would like to be active in pushing back against that, but that's kind of hard to do when you don't even understand what's happening!
I want to be clear that I am not frustrated with you in particular anon. As I said, I do genuinely appreciate you trying to take the time to educate me. But this is a persistent problem that I come across when trying to understand the Israeli-Palestine conflict from an American political perspective and it gets very frustrating.
Side Note: For any of my followers that have read this far, I just want to say, like, please do not take the majority of your information on the Israeli-Palestine conflict from Tumblr posts. I appreciate you reading all this, but if you're interested in getting a basic understanding of the geopolitical aspects of this conflict I recommend watching the Crash Course World History episode on it or something.
