Morgana AU Pt 3
Morgana screams when the raiders haul her up, and not just in pain. She bucks and pulls against the men's hold, kicking until she stumbles free. Her uninjured arm flies up, and long tree roots erupt from the earth to echo her movements. They ensnare the two men who had held her, but another three take their place, tackling her back to the ground.
The fall drives the arrow in her shoulder tip first through her body, emerging out the other side. Morgana roars like a trapped animal, struggling against the bodies pressing her to cold ground.
"Tie her up, damn it!" the party leader commands. In moments a length of rope is produced. Kara lunges towards them, but her strength is tempered by this world's, this time's sun. Two men hold her easily.
The men ignore her and Gwen's pleadings to release them, their voices falling on deaf ears.
"Shut up, or we kill the lot of you!"
The raider snaps the point off the arrow in Morgana's shoulder, but leaves the shaft still buried in their friend's flesh.
"Take them back to camp!"
Gwen and Kara follow the raiders' orders and trudge obediently through the woods with the rest of the druids, their threats halting any escape plans they might have had. Morgana, however, struggles all the way with her hands bound behind her back. They drag her kicking and writhing through the trees, until they emerge on the plain, where an army host has set up camp.
Morgana only calms when she's thrown to her knees in the center of the camp, but heaves for breath as the druids huddle fearfully behind her. Gwen and Kara move towards Morgana, only to be driven back by swords and spears.
Activity around the camp stops as a beefy man clomps towards them. Morgana has told Kara details of her captivity and her captor only once, but Kara knows immediately that this is Sarrum.
"Hahahaha!" Sarrum laughs at the sight of Morgana, who glares balefully up at him. "Couldn't stay away from your gracious host, eh witch?"
Morgana only scowls in answer, and when Sarrum grips her by the chin she bites his hand, clamping on hard enough to force him to tug free with force. His retailatory backhand sends her careening to the ground, only to be jerked back up by the arms.
Sarrum leans in close, spittle visibly flecking from his lips. "I have no well for you this time, milady," he sneers, "but I'm sure we can find something just as comfortable for you."
Straightening he motions to his men. "Take her to the tent and chain the rest!"
Kara and Gwen attempt to resist as Morgana is dragged towards the massive command tent, even as spears prod them in the opposite direction with the others. But if they weren't outnumbered in the woods, they certainly are now, and soon find themselves coffled alongside their friends on the outskirts of the camp.
The night is long and quiet, though Kara strains to hear any sound from Morgana. When dawn breaks the troops break camp and start marching. They keep to the main roads, suggesting to Kara that they have no desire to keep their presence hidden. She and the rest of the prisoners are dragged in a line at the rear, forced to step through the mud and manure churned by the preceding host.
They catch no glimpse of Morgana.
For two days they walk, and as they push further along the road, Kara notices Gwen's features growing more and more grim.
"Where are we going?" she asks quietly.
Gwen's response is solemn.
"To Camelot."
#supercorp#morgana au#i am rapidly coming to the conclusion that i am effectively declawing kara#but the story isnt about her specifically so there#if i ever write this properly i may do things differently#but for now this is what im going with

A little art/comic announcement: While Knightfall in Dream Land is still in progress and I’m still working on that I’ve also started plotting out the storylines for both the Daroach backstory comic and the Susie redemption arc comic that I want to do.
Before I started drawing Knightfall in Dream Land I did some very simple pencil sketches with dialogue written on them to get an idea for the direction the story of the comic would go in and get an estimate of how long the finished comic would likely be/how many pages it would likely have. That’s the stage I’m at right now with the Daroach comic and Susie comic. I’m planning to start posting actual pages for both of these comics in January 2025, because I want to get a little bit further into Knightfall in Dream Land first before I launch the new comics. The final length may vary a little bit depending on whether or not I decide to add more stuff or change some of the dialogue I’ve plotted out, but when Knightfall in Dream Land is finished I’m estimating that it’ll be around 34-36 pages, so I’d like to maybe get to page 20 or so before I start posting the new comics. Knowing how slowly I update I’ll probably hit page 20 around late December of this year so January is likely when I’ll be launching the new comics.
Like I’ve mentioned before I’m also still very busy with grad school stuff (I’m working very hard to finish up my PhD in the next year and hopefully get a job lined up if I can so I don’t have to live with my parents when I graduate) so comic updates might get even slower than they already are in the coming months. Thank you to everyone who’s been reading the comic even though I update it really slowly, it really means a lot to me to see people enjoying what I’ve created, and I hope you’ll enjoy the new comics too when I eventually start posting them.
#text post#Kirby#my art#I’m still plotting out the storylines for the Daroach comic and the Susie comic but I have some tentative title ideas for both of them#I’m thinking of calling the Daroach comic Second Chances and I’m thinking of calling the Susie comic Incorporated#I have a lot of affection for Squeak Squad as a game since it was the first Kirby game I ever played#and it was one of my favorite childhood DS games in general#so I thought it’d be fun to give a little backstory to Daroach and the other Squeaks#and I know that Susie is a kind of divisive character in the fandom but I really like her and find her interesting#and I always see people complaining that she’s not properly redeemed or is still evil#so I thought it’d be interesting to come up with a redemption plot for her#in my Kirby AU in general I’m portraying most of the characters as no longer being evil or villainous#like they may do shady or immoral things at times but overall most of them got some character development and became better people#the main theme of my AU the SweetVerse AU is kindness/friendship#so basically Kirby was kind to all of these people and it inspired them to be kinder and do better#idk I understand why other people may like portraying characters as still being evil or being jerks to each other#but I personally don’t feel like that’s very fun and I feel like it’s a bit overdone I want to do something a bit different with my AU#I think it’s more fun to consider how all the characters would interact as friends/what that dynamic would be like#instead of just writing about or drawing them always antagonizing each other#I also feel like portraying certain characters as still being jerks literally undoes character development they get during their games#idk I just personally don’t find it very fun or interesting to portray everyone as being assholes to each other#I think the friendship angle is more fun and interesting but that’s just me#doesn’t mean they won’t tease or antagonize each other from time to time but it’s all in good fun it’s not malicious

could you possibly do a benedict bridgerton friends to lovers fic with maybe some jealousy thrown in there? i adore your writing 🫶🏻
this request could not have come at a better time! i finally started my bridgerton rewatch recently and i can feel myself sparking with ideas yet again :) || 2k words, tw benedict is PINING & this is much more suggestive than my usual content, so 18+ please!
can't bear it - benedict bridgerton x reader
He looked bored. It was the first thing you noticed upon entering the ballroom and, in truth, it was often the first thing you noticed upon entering any ballroom. Over your years of friendship, it seemed you had a highly trained eye to seek him out amongst any crowd.
Just as your eyes strayed to him, as if he had similar training, his found you. What had been a dull stare at the ground to avoid any accidental eye contact with the Mamas scattered about the room quickly became a bright and excitable gaze locked to yours and you returned his slow-spreading smile with a rather unladylike grin.
"Hi," he mouthed, a grin of his own now twisting his features. You shook your head at him fondly, biting the inside of your cheek in a foolish attempt to stop your grin from growing any wider.
You were lucky to have a sister with whom your mother was preoccupied. It made it easy to hurry along the sides of the ballroom, exchanging nods with those you passed without stopping to greet them properly, to end up next to Benedict in record time.
You stood side by side, your usual routine, the backs of your hands inches apart but both facing outwards, as if surveying the rest of the room. Each one of your senses was entirely tuned into him as soon as you entered his presence, but it would not look as such to any onlookers.
"You'll start more rumours if you keep trying to communicate across such wide distances, Lord Bridgerton," you began, eyes fixed on the twirling couples so you didn't sneak a glance in his direction, "I thought we were attempting to rid ourselves of the clamours for our engagement."
"They can hardly read into a mere greeting," he responded easily, the words a mere murmur from the corner of his mouth, "I am a gentleman, as you know, and it would be impolite to simply ignore you."
"It would. You couldn't ignore me if you tried, anyway," you mused, "You'd get ever so bored."
"Always so self-important."
His mutter makes you bite back a smirk. Perhaps facing away from each other did nothing to hide your obvious conversation after all. Violet would be sure to notice, you knew, and may once again force Benedict into explaining the lack of proposal between the two of you.
In recent weeks, however, you had been struggling to explain it to yourself. Benedict was so dear to you, so utterly different to the men that regularly bored you, that once you had struck up such unlikely friendship, it seemed you valued it far too much to take it any further.
That, and there had never been any indication that Benedict himself saw marital potential within you. He was by no means a shy man. If he wanted you, you were quite sure he would have swept you off your feet by now.
And what a sweeping it would be, in those strong arms barely concealed by the crisp white shirt, billowing fabric...
"Good evening, Miss Y/L/N," a voice broke you from your spell, and your gaze accidentally drifted to Benedict in surprise before landing on the man interrupting you, "I believe I was promised a dance last we met, and I have heard you are a lady of your word."
You had to fight to keep yourself from frowning as you wracked your brains for his name. Unfortunately, you came up entirely empty and had no choice but to respond vaguely.
"I certainly would not like to gain a reputation for breaking promises," you smiled as taught, taking in handsome features and arms that didn't fill in a shirt nearly as well as Benedict's. You shook that thought from your head as you placed your hand in the unnamed stranger's own, "It would be an honour."
There was a splutter to your left, no doubt Benedict struggling to conceal his amusement at the sudden change in your tone. You allowed the man to lead you to the dance floor, turning subtly to send Benedict a wry smile but finding him staring right through you, expression anything but amused.
It wiped the smile clean off your own face.
His face was thunder throughout your dance, you noticed, however much you tried to focus on the pleasantly mundane conversation provided by your new partner. He really was quite good looking, if only you could appreciate it, but you were entirely preoccupied by Benedict's new foul mood and what could have caused it.
As the dance ended, you bowed politely to your captor, which was the only word that came to mind for him, and hurried in the direction of your favourite friend only to find him gone. This time you did frown, despite your mother's warnings of wrinkles, and picked up your skirt lightly as you slipped out of the ballroom.
Searching side room after side room proved useful. You soon found what could be described as a studio, with large windows to let the light in but currently only cast moonlight across the canvases spread around the room. The moon also lit up half of Benedict, who was stood at the window, staring out into the gardens.
"Be prepared to hide under that desk if anyone should come knocking," you said, startling him as you clicked the door shut behind you, "I shan't let you compromise my honour just because I have to chase after you when you're having a tantrum."
He glowered at you at the mention of a tantrum, the kind of look he usually levelled his brothers with rather than you. It was new territory and you found yourself quickly floundering.
"I did not bid you to follow me."
"And yet here I am," you reminded, taking a tentative step, "So why don't you put a stop to this strange mood and tell me what's wrong?"
"I'd rather not," he said curtly, his voice a little wrong as he turned to face you at last. Were those tears? "Please return to the festivities and I will join you momentarily."
You'd never seen Benedict cry before. In fact, you weren't sure you'd ever seen a man cry in your life, and the sight was terrifying. You wanted nothing more than to wrap him up in a long overdue embrace, but you kept yourself stock still in the middle of the room.
"Benedict..." you began, not sure where you were going despite the plea in your voice, "Please. I have never seen you like this."
He laughs, but its harsh.
"You must not be very observant then, Y/N."
"I beg your pardon?"
"In fact, you must be positively blind. Maddeningly so. How do you ever get anything done?"
You could feel tears of your own welling up in your eyes and blinked them away furiously. It was a great effort to keep your voice level when you spoke.
"I have known you to be many things, Bridgerton, but you are not cruel. I am sure I have done nothing to deserve such vehement insult, so-"
"I quite disagree," he interrupted, face fierce as he stalked over to you until he was right in front of you. Your chest heaved as you looked up at him, eyes wide, and felt the rise of his chest almost against your own, "You are observant, Y/N, and far from blind. It is your cruelty at fault here, not mine. It is yours."
He hissed the last word, pointing a finger at you so close to your chest that your head was spinning. His closeness was intoxicating, his scent crowding you out of enough oxygen and his words were making you lightheaded with panic.
"You're not making any sense," you murmured. His fingertips ghosted across the fabric of your dress near your hips, barely there, and nowhere near the skin underneath.
"You must see it," he mutters back, all gritted teeth and barely concealed restraint, "You must see that I worship you. That I always have."
Your inhale sounded more like a gasp. He shook his head above you, moving closer until his chin was pressed hard into your temple and you keened into the touch.
"I know you do not feel the same. And you are not obligated to, I swear it. But taunting me as you do. Playing with me only to dance with another..." he trails off, breath shuddering, and you can hear those tears in his voice again, "I can't bear it. Please, Y/N, I cannot bear it."
Neither can you.
You reach up and take his face in both hands, finding chiseled cheekbones and jawline, thumbs either side of his lips as you pull him until you can look up into his face again. Your gaze flickers across his face, and you wipe the tears from his face with shaking fingers.
"You're blind, Benedict," you say, leaning up on your tiptoes until your lips brush his, soft, like the ghost of his fingertips against fabric. You know what you want him to do and you need him to do it first, need him to take your lead and run away with it.
When he fists his hands in your dress at your hips and drags you into him, your prayers are answered.
He opens your mouth to his, still gentle but insistent, demanding more, more, more of you. You'd give him everything, right here, mainly because you know he'd never take it. He seems more than content with the here and now as it is, especially when your hands slip into his hair and he lets out a low grumble of a moan that you feel everywhere.
He's trying to pull you closer still when you break for air, gasping it in as the two of you pant into each other's mouths. He runs a hand down your hair, your neck, your arm, until he intertwines his fingers with yours, chases your lips for a peck, then another, then another. You meet him with a lazy grin.
"I dance with the Lords of the ton every ball," you breathe out, "I'd have noticed if you reacted like this every time."
Benedict was grinning too. He looked far more like himself when he did.
"They are usually old, ugly fools," he said, wrinkling his nose in distaste at the thought, "I always hate them having their hands all over you, but watching a young charming bastard who may just have a chance with you hold you as I have always dreamed of doing? It was enough."
"He never had a chance, my Lord," you assured, tracing his hairline, his earlobe just to see him shiver, "You are, as already accused, blissfully blind. Blind as a bat, I should think."
"Recent developments would suggest that to be true," he mused, glowing in a way he wouldn't usually when wrong. Then, all too quickly, his face briefly fell, "I truly apologise for all that I said to you, Y/N. There is no excuse, it was cruel."
"Hm," you agreed, "It was. Although, I can think of a multitude of ways you can make it up to me. Would you care to hear them?"
His eyes lit up at the realisation of your teasing. It was familiar, exactly what had drawn you both to each other time and time again. It was likely what would keep you together for eternity.
"I would like nothing more."
"How about I sit right up here..." you began lowly, moving to take a seat on the desk, "-you sit yourself underneath this desk, and we can have a conversation about compromising my honour."
You grinned at him wolfishly. It looked almost as if his eyes rolled back into his head already, but it wasn't long until he was kneeling in front of you, hands on the hem of your dress.
"And what would you know about compromising your honour, Miss Y/L/N?"
You ran a hand through his hair and used it to roughly yank him forward, until his nose was pressed to the fabric of your dress, exactly where you wanted him. It was easy to see it now, as he stared up at you in total awe: the way he worshipped you.
"Let's find out, shall we?"
if you’d like to request something, please do so here! i’d love to hear from you, sunflower <3

what people think pro ship means: dangerous people who want to harm children in real life and/or think taboo subjects in real life are justified
what pro ship actually is about: the belief that people are allowed to enjoy fictional thing however they want, as long as it's fictional and no one in real life gets harmed or harassed in any way, and as long as they tag their trigger warnings properly.
most pro ship folks I've come across are just "hey, you like this fucked up thing that is fictional? okay, cool. you do you, man. I myself don't even like this thing that you like, but hey, it's not real. and I trust that you know the difference between fiction and reality, so you do you. if it ever gets too much for me, I will just block or mute you and move on with my life, but that doesn't mean I think you're a horrible person in real life because of the fictional thing you like, it just means I'd rather not see or engage with this thing that can make me uncomfortable. I still want you to have fun doing what you love, and I still think you're cool as fuck. love and respect, dude"
meanwhile most anti ship I've seen are like "omg you like this fictional thing where fictional children are harmed??! Red Flag Red Flag. put this gross piece of shit behind bars immediately!!!"
and I'm just ????? I don't normally engage in fandom wars, but I think, as long as you don't harass anyone in real life and as long as no one in real life is in danger or is harmed, how you enjoy fictional things is none of my business. and I'm not gonna make any "call out post" where I encourage my followers to harass you because you like fucked up fictional things that I personally don't like or believe is wrong either.
I mean, from personal experience, I was exposed against my will to thing I didn't want to see from anti's screenshot of fanart or fanfic where they encourage their followers to harass this person whose fanart or fanfic, that was screenshot and spread by them, was originally tagged properly with all the trigger warnings so that people who didn't want to see it wouldn't get exposed to it. until anti screenshot it and flaunted it around in the name of being morally superior while also, at the same time, advocated for the witch hunt against someone who just wanted to mind their own business. so... the irony. lol
fandoms used to be more peaceful before Fandom Police starts their witch hunting, but it's a good thing we can just block these people and keep on enjoying our blorbos however we want to enjoy them.
and I'll always encourage every artist to write whatever they want, draw whatever they want. don't let people who think they're "morally superior" tell you you can't make art this way or that way. my best advice would be to block and ignore and keep on creating what you want. they may be loud, but at the end of the day they're just noises and they're not worth your attention x

Special Request (Feyd Rautha x Reader)
My larger Feyd fic is almost done and will be out soon I promise, but I had an idea for a drabble that I really wanted to write because I can’t get this thought out of my head. It’s sorta stupid but I thought it was cute.
Summary: you’re the only person on Giedi Prime with hair, so Feyd gets you shampoo :)
Reader’s gender not specified
Feyd is sweet if I want him to be
no warnings
—
“My love?” Feyd says as you walk back to your shared quarters after a long day of diplomatic meetings. “May I ask why you’ve been covering your head as of late when we are outside of our chambers?”
“Oh…” you trail off, trying to come up with an excuse. “I’ve… been liking the headscarfs more as of late. Plus, they keep me warm. You know I find the halls cold.”
Feyd shakes his head. “I know when you aren’t being truthful with me.”
You sigh. Of course he saw right through you, him being your husband, after all. “It’s going to sound ridiculous, Feyd.”
“I promise I will not think any less of you. I could never,” he assures you by enclosing your hand in his and giving it a firm squeeze.
“I… don’t like the way my hair looks,” you admit, which makes him frown. He’s always disliked when you talk down about yourself.
“I love your hair,” he immediately says. “It’s one of my favorite things about you.”
“I know you do, Feyd, and I’m really very flattered, but it’s looked awful recently,” you say. “I haven’t been able to wash my hair properly since I got here. The body soap that you have here is lovely, but it’s really not meant for my hair.”
“Why didn’t you say anything?” he questions. You’ve been married for years.
“I didn’t want to be a bother, especially since I’m the only one that would ever need it on this planet,” you counter as he immediately drops your hand and turns on his heel to head back the way you came.
“Feyd!” You call out to him, worried he’s angry at you, but all he does is call back to you telling you not to worry and that he’ll meet you in your quarters later, leaving you in the hallway in a state of bewilderment.
—
A few days later, Feyd pulls you aside as you gaze out at the industrial skyline of Geidi Prime and starts walking you through the halls.
“I have something to show you,” he says as he takes you to the door of your shared quarters. He unlocks the door and immediately takes you into the bathroom.
“Feyd, what is this?” You gasp when you enter, seeing the room lit by candles and the bathtub full of hot, soapy water. On a tray next to the tub, you see more different kinds of of haircare items than you’ve ever seen in your life.
“What do you think?” he asks. “I had it all brought in specially for you.”
“I love it,” you reply. “I can’t believe you did this just for me.”
“You know I would do anything for you,” he smiles, giving you a soft kiss on the lips. You squeal as you grab a bottle and shed your headscarf and clothes before climbing into the tub and dunking your hair in the water. Feyd smiles at your giddiness, taking the bottle from you and positioning himself on his knees behind the tub. He opens the bottle and puts some of the shampoo on his palm and spreads it onto your hair. Gently massaging your scalp, he works the suds through your hair with his fingers as you close your eyes and sink into the tub, relaxing at his touch.
“You’re marvelous, you know that, my love?” He asks as you hum in response.
“Thank you for this, Feyd,” you grin, feeling all of the stress from the day melt away at his touch.
“Anything for you,” he replies, his heart swelling seeing you so happy.

hello! so, i don't know if you take requests, or write for blue lock in your blog, but if you do, may i request an interviewer!reader x the blue lock boys? the specific characters i want are: sae, rin, nagi, and kaiser. but feel free to add or remove characters as you'd like. but if you don't take requests and or don't write for blue lock, just tell me, no problem! thank you, and take care! also, i love your work!
crushing on the job
various blue lock boys x gn!interviewer!reader !
rin, sae, nagi, bachira, kunigami
author's note: this is a first because ive never thought id get a request for blue lock 😯 unfortunately, some sacrifices have been made since i don't read the manga, and kaiser has been eliminated... (im sorry i literally know nothing about him 😞) SO i added in bachira and kunigami in to make up for it
note: i wrote this as if they were normal footballers, so nothing from blue lock and whatever happens after is mentioned. the drabbles really very in length and definitely aren't equal.
synopsis: how they act when they fall in love with an interviewer at first sight. headcanons + drabbles!
itoshi rin I pre game interview
it's VERY obvious that he's caught something for you, because the way he looks at you is different to other interviewers
he's often at a loss for words and asks you to repeat your questions a lot. his head is in the clouds, and none of them get answered properly
he's overall a lot kinder and lighter with his words and ways of speech. his stance is much more relaxed than usual
the chances of either of you asking each other out are slim, so one of his teammates would do a bit of digging to get your contact info for him. if not, he'll be thinking about you nonstop and it messes up his performance
your feet move and twist around on the grass outside of camera view, as you stand beside one of the most skilled strikers in japan. the struggle of trying to put off this interview had to be abandoned at some point, and it's been months, yet it still feels too soon.
once the cameraman gives you a thumbs up, you take a deep breath and start to speak, completely forgetting to introduce yourself and the player. "so, what do you think the score will be in the end?"
rin just stares at you in the eye blankly, and it took you the small movement of turning the microphone towards him to snap him out of it. "huh?" his eyebrows raise a little.
you've seen how his other interviews have gone, and you were more than nervous to have your turn, fully expecting yourself to be belittled to some degree. but is it just you, or does he seem a bit... different? "t-the score? your predictions on the score?" you repeat, a small stutter in your voice and decreasing in volume as you go.
"uh..." he wipes his nose with his thumb and looks off to the side for a few seconds, before turning back to you again. "the score... yes." he answers mindlessly, nodding his head. it wasn't even a yes or no question...
in confusion, you blink, not even knowing how to respond. you were trying so hard to not let how uncomfortable you are shine through. you really have not a single clue what this man is thinking. "how are you feeling? about the upcoming match, i mean."
"a bit excited, i guess... i've been training." he looks at you and replies quietly before looking away again and scratching the back of his neck. "and other things..."
this is a first. anxiousness? rin always struck you as a confident man, or at least from what you've seen he is, so what does he have to be nervous about?
itoshi sae | meeting by chance (not)
(im sorry guys this may or may not be the most ooc and corny thing ever + im going off of the tiniest clips of him in the anime)
he just so happened to recognise you after a match
you interviewed every single player on his team except for him. coincidence? he thinks not. he's the best player, isn't he? why wouldn't you want to ask him anything?
for some reason, he finds it extremely entertaining when you're intimidated by him as a whole. he doesn't visibly show it though. you've got to have some confidence if you intentionally ignore THE itoshi sae
it's not that he's in love (probably in denial), but he's intrigued by you. he's a lot more pushy about things, but he doesn't mean to make it overwhelming. that's just his presence alone doing that
every interviewer out there knows how dry yet valuable sae's answers are. they ask the same questions, he gets the same answers, all the time. that's precisely why you don't want to interview him yourself. being shut down every time you try to question something is more embarrassing than people think, and you cringe just thinking about it.
so imagine your relief when you successfully get through an entire match without crossing paths with him. you would get to send in your notes, go home all happy and jolly, and sleep peacefully without a care in the world. but luck can only last so long.
you were just about to take a much needed bathroom break, but before you could turn a corner, there's a figure blocking your path. "you avoided me." it's itoshi sae in front of you.
your mind draws a blank. there's no one from your team within sight, or rather anyone in sight, and not even the comfort of your notebook could save you.
not only were you so confident in the fact that you wouldn't meet him that you hadn't written down any questions under his name, but you also told your team to wait in the car because you wouldn't take too long. "oh... i did?" a clear lie. "well, the producer and cameraman aren't here and stuff, so..." you attempt to get yourself out of situation, sheepishly at that.
his facial expression didn't change. he just continues to look down at you, and it was impossible to hold eye contact for more than a second. "unfortunate. because i want to hear what you have to say."
"i-it's nothing important, really... it's nothing you haven't heard before—"
he cuts you off. "i want to hear you say it."
something about the way he said it really freaks you out. conflict was running through your thoughts, your fingers twisting in the metal rings of your notebook. "okay... just a short one."
while your head was turned, you managed to catch a glimpse of his eyes squinting slightly, dare you say softening, and you pull out a pen from your pocket. "make sure you write down every word."
oh, you definitely were; with shaky hands. "will you say something different?" you ask. it was stupid, but still, you were eager to know.
for a beat, he stays silent, then tilting his head to the side. "...we'll see."
nagi seishiro I photobomber
this guy is in the background 24/7. he's honestly just a a bit lost and a curious little thing
he gets closer and closer until you finally interview him. at first he'll just be a blur, and he comes all the way up to behind you. he doesn't even mean to sneak up on you like that, he just wants to talk to you. his shadow would be so scary when he looms over you from behind
he's so weirdly energetic when he talks to you? not by a lot, but definitely more than when he normally speaks. he can actually be bothered to answer you properly, which is unexpected by many
he doesn't really flirt. if he does, it's unintentional. he's honest with his words and it kinda makes things awkward
"yes, thank you. i'm here at the saitama stadium to—" your eyes glanced down at the shadow on top of yours, growing larger and larger, and eventually overtaking the size of yours.
all of a sudden, there's a hand on your shoulder. "are you an interviewer?"
your head whips back and you take a step forward. you really shouldn't have been as surprised as you were, since you literally saw it coming. but you recognise this face. messy hair, much like a eskimo puppy, and dark eyes with permanent eyebags. nagi seishiro, who just happened to be a must have on your 'to interview list'.
"yes... yes, i am an interviewer."
nagi's hand remains on your shoulder, and he glances up at the camera in front of you. "is this on?" he points at it.
with a small glance at the device yourself, you nod. "mhm. and live." now that he's right here in front of you, you have to seize the opportunity. "since you're already here, would you like to...?"
lifting his hand, it's almost as if he took offence to the offer, his eyebrows furrowing. "who wouldn't want to with an interviewer as pretty as you?" he says, loud and clear.
you thought you were hearing things. him calling you pretty? that can't be real. "o-oh..." was the only thing you could say, a chuckle automatically leaving your mouth right after. it seems like he hadn't realised the effect of what he's said, moving on as if nothing happened.
bachira meguru I a silly pest
shameless and playful
the type of flirt that has you giggling and forgetting what you have to say because he's so smooth with it OR he's just so confusing that you accidentally agree to his advances
the type to say "this goal is for you" or "if i win this, you give me your number" and makes a promise to score as many times as possible
either he really embarrasses himself and you find his reaction cute, or he looks unexpectedly cool when he makes all of his shots like it's nothing
during one of his celebrations, he holds his hand up to his ear (🤙) so it's pretty much set in stone that you give him your number
you came prepared. interviewing a player very known for childish antics and trolling wasn't going to be easy, but you're always up for a challenge, especially when it'll reward you with some good material to work with. once the cameraman gives you the thumbs up, you finally start to speak. "are you disappointed that you haven't won an away games in a while?"
"hm..." bachira pouts, pretending to think as he rolls the ball beneath his foot. the entire time since the camera's been on him, he hasn't looked up from the ground. yet. "i'm more disappointed i haven't had the chance to meet you earlier. really had me missing out on life, you know?" he glances up at you as if that was the most normal thing to say, a cheeky smirk playing on his lips.
keep your cool, keep your cool. "how do you feel about being one of the youngest players on the team?" purposely, you don't expand on his answer, and move on to the next.
"i don't know. how old are you?"
as much as you'd like to entertain him, it wouldn't be appropriate. "too old for you." you reply, keeping your tone light with a chuckle.
"ah... you'll just have to wait for me then, huh?" oh. you don't think he was lying about that.
the smile and light atmosphere of the interview drops in an instant, replaced by a slightly stunned look that you know won't look good airing. how does he say these things with a straight face?
you quickly school your expression into a more neutral one. it's not like you can reprimand him on live tv, as much as you'd like to. "you don't think that's a little inappropriate?" you say.
bachira just shrugs, rolling a shoulder. "inappropriate is subjective." he doesn't give you a moment of rest, shifting his bodyweight to the other foot and continuing to toy with the ball. "can you ask me another question? this one is boring... actually, i'll ask you a question."
"oh god..." you mutter, your hand twitching and ready to facepalm.
"how about..." his eyes stare deep into yours, as if he was searching for something inside of them. "if i score a hat trick, i get your number."
your face scrunches up, since you thought he would take the hint already that you have to keep this professional. "that's a request." you correct.
"exactly."
"what?"
"so... number?"
"yes—" in that split second, your real personality slipped out, your brain subconsciously wanting to accept his offer. a brief moment later, the damage was already done, yet you were trying to fix it. "no! no!"
but he was already running off, a little skip in each step. "thank you~!" your manager won't be happy at all.
kunigami rensuke I press conference
probably wouldn't shoot his shot publicly/verbally, no pun intended. it's a respect sort of thing and a barrier between careers
might be ooc, but he really reminds me of this moment (i know its basketball, but still) are you seeing what im seeing?
accidentally threw his towel or water bottle at you at some point during his warmups, and then the sight of your pretty self was stamped into his brain
the clips would get really popular, and your company pretty much pressured you into going to his next game, and then the one after that, and the one after that...
even with all of the lights flashing in his eyes, kunigami could see you as if some sort of spotlight was on you, glancing around and hesitantly trying to find a moment to speak up. how could he not recognise you? you were that pretty interviewer that he threw his towel at by mistake. your face truly was unforgettable, and his first interaction with you happened to go like that.
usually, he would let thinks like this go, since it's not really something he needs to deal with, but he still feels like he owes you something. "hey, let them speak." he voices, firm and unyielding. anyone in their right mind wouldn't mess with a guy that clearly works out on a regular basis.
"so, you were saying?" he puts on his best smile, and you're so stunned by his kindness that you forget what you were going to say in the first place. luckily, you managed to put together some sort of random question that was good enough.
"ah, yes." you take a minute to look at your notes; they were completely blank. not very helpful... "you did really well during the game, but you didn't score as many goals as you did in your previous match. do you believe that you could have performed better, or are you satisfied with your results?"
he takes a second, and after a moment he responds. "well," his eyes gleam with pride. "i'm pretty satisfied with my performance. but i could do better, and i plan to in future matches as well."
and your little interest in passionate people ignites. "how do you do it? how do you keep improving, when you're already so good?"
he chuckles, slightly embarrassed by your compliment. "really, it isn't that amazing. i just love football, you know. i can't help but to always strive to do better. the people who are close to me motivate me a lot." a staff member moves over to adjust the microphone as kunigami has his head down, writing something on an unopened bottle of drink that his team was sponsored by.
by the time he lifts his gaze up to you again, he's suddenly struck with a certain dazzle in your eyes, a spark of curiosity. it felt like an attack straight to his heart, and that's when he knew you might be the one. perhaps it was naïve, but he's never felt this way before.
you knew it was best to step down before you get too ahead of yourself, so you nod and hand your mic to your assistant at your side. other people need their turns too, right? you also fail to notice kunigami giving the bottle to the staff next to him, whispering a few words to them.
only a few minutes later did you find yourself with a free drink in your hand, his number scribbled over the label in a thick black marker.

You know how in Naruto, Sealing is a Finicky Art?
It's like computer coding, calligraphy, and symbolism had a super-powered/reality bending baby. You gotta think in VERY ADHD twirls and swirls too be any good at it. Which is why the Uzumaki rocked it so hard. But I digress.
Is Complexe AF.
Bends Reality and is EASY to fuck up.
Wanna bet? The BEST way to learn/use it? Is to copy already functioning examples? But Oh! How do you KNOW they are functioning? Safe? Well OBVIOUSLY, your Skilled At Seals teacher looks at it first! THEN gives it too you!
Using random seals you find in the dirt is how you get splattered across three different countryside in peices, after all. Possibly take out a nearly Town or two while your at it. No One Is THAT Dumb... RIGHT?
Enter Stage Right o/~☆ Humanity, Everybody! *polite, if strained, golf clapping*
They ABSOLUTELY Are!
Especially Ninja!
Ninja who, after fuckin MURDERING A WHOLE ASS VILLAGE OF SEALING MASTERS, decided to pick through the rubble! Because THAT is gonna work out GREAT! After all... it's not like you just KILLED the fuckers who could tell you what IS and IS NOT functional!
Was that once the "hazardous advanced class' sealing failures" bin? Or was it the "super awesome candy and rainbows" stash!? You don't know. NO ONE DOES NOW. You fuckin KILLED THE PEOPLE WHO DID.
They had their own REGIONAL Sealing Script.
You know, the one they taught to THEIR STUDENTS. Not outsiders. The students you KILLED, you absolute fuck nuggets. But hey! The threat of the Super Scary Sealing Masters is no more! Good job. You've successfully burned down the library. It can't hurt you ever again.
But NOW? You have piles upon piles of GIBBERISH.
You can only VAGUELY tell the novice seals from the master's. And even then? Do you have any idea what most of them DO? Nope. And after a certain point in training? The shaky, uncertain hand writing becomes smooth enough, that it all blends together in "Seals".
Now... what is the SMART thing to do?
Curse your hubris and the atrocities your fear allowed you to commit, obviously. But BEYOND that, Don't Touch Them. But we're Ninja. So WE are all suicidal idiots. The less smart but still Reasonably Precautionary thing to do? Study the amateur Seals. Learn Sealing from other masters.
Crack the Regional Script and slowly, painstakingly, work through each seal as we sort out what is and isn't safe. What can be salvaged. What can be used and how.
A process that will likely take years if not decades.
But of course, that's not GOOD ENOUGH for certain grabby handed, power hungry, short sighted, fuck weasels! No, no. It much EASIER to just throw human life into the blender until profit pops out! Completely IGNORING, of course, that SOME of these?
Could very well be the "Too Dangerous To Ever Use/Will Destroy Us All/Take Them All With Us" type of Seals that Kage usually LOCK UP. The kind you CAN'T destroy once you've made them, because the fall out would be WORSE. And?
Even if you are a murderous, middle management, go nowhere in your life, BASTARD of a ninja? Sometimes you can look down at the massive, intricately detailed, killer off nation's before you. Something that was WRAPPED in locks upon locks upon chains upon seals. And KNOW in your selfish, survival at all costs little heart... You DO NOT want anyone to fuck with this.
You CAN NOT let anyone fuck with this.
NO ONE can be allowed to touch it.
Not for ANYTHING.
You may fear S Class Kage and Missing Nin and what all else they may do to you. But THIS? Your eyes can't even properly FOCUS on it. It's like a tunnel that's lined with poetry, stretching all the way to the Earth's core. It's perfectly flat. It moves, a gentle rotation. But is that just your eyes, tricking you?
So much ink, it swallows the scroll, and this is when it's COMPRESSED.
How many nations?
How many NATIONS must this monstrosity span, when free?
It must have taken a Master decades, if not their entire life, to complete. Possibly a family, several generations. But... but gods it is a work of MADNESS. No wonder it was sealed. It speak, you... you THINK... of Death...
Of it's KING.
Something BEYOND the Shinigami. BEYOND Death and the Purelands.
Who the FUCK would try to summon something beyond GODS? Did they think they could control it? Chain it like the bijuu? You're so cold inside. Because you KNOW. You fucking KNOW, the ambitions and arrogance of those above you.
They'll think they can.
They won't listen.
You... you have to take this and RUN. You stand no chance. But no chance is better then oblivion. Anything is better then standing by and watching it happen.
You obviously don't make it. You never expected too. But at least... at least you won't have to watch whatever THAT is... arrive... fuck...
At least you TRIED.
And? Because leaf Ninja, specifically certain teams, have the MOST Shit luck imaginable? They arrive, having crossed paths with several other teams, on the way back home (yay! Warm food and real beds!) Just in time to see a desperate looking ninja from one of the small villages get fuckin pincushioned. Drop what is VERY clearly an Uzushio Scroll of considerable size and SEVERE SSS+ DO Not EVER Touch Grade Type Markings, and then some joining from that same village go to grab it.
Notice them.
You know... the multiple LEAF NINJA. Who TOO THIS DAY, wear the UZU swirl on their uniforms as a mourning tribute to the DEAR AND PRECIOUS ALLIES they could not save. The Uzushio Allies. Those ones. The ones that were, in fact, from Uzushio.
LIKE THE SCROLL YOU ARE HOLDING.
By the WAY! How DID you get that Scroll? Doesn't seem like something our dear friends would just HAND over, now does it? You didn't happen to LOOT THEIR FUCKIN GRAVES did you? Cause we sure would be MAD about that!
:)
Real Mad.
Dude obviously panics. Because that? That is a VERY pissed off bunch of Ninja, many in the bingo book, one of whom is Very Clearly throwing off BIJUU CHAKRA. And just said "my family's" Ha ha... Oh Shit that's an Uzumaki.
So he decides to USE THE SEAL.
What does it do?
He doesn't know! But it's probably SOMETHING big and impressive, right?
Yes. :) Yes it Does.
*Crack*
The SKY cracks. Like a pane of glass, struck by a hammer. Spiderwebbing as far as the eye can see above them, all from one central point, directly above the seal. The cracks there are concentrated. A point of impact. And through the cracks... something GREEN shines.
Brighter then the daylight around it, yet darker in color then the blue of the sky. Lazily whisping out like escaping mist. Time seems slow as their eyes all whip up wards. Even with senses beyond the normal human base, it is... inconceivable. SOMETHING winds back. They can not see it.
But they can feel it.
Like changing pressure as a storm rolls in.
*Crack!*
Green overtakes the blue. The sky a Kaleidescape of shards, held together by stubbornness alone. Reflecting a calm day that seems IMPOSSIBLE in the face of what's occurring. There should be wind. Great pressure changes in the face of so much FORCE, but the trees are eerily still.. utterly silent..
Nothing dares bring attention to itself.
Some distant part of their minds try to gather the thought that... that it could be an illusion. They... they should check. But they can FEEL it. Like a weight draped gently but without mercy upon their shoulders. It did not slam. But... but they can not move. Can barely breathe. It is beyond killing intent.
It is simply...
DEATH.
*CRASH!*
At last, the sky gives way. A fist, the size of towers punching through. It... it is almost elegant. A ring, almost in the shinigami's visage, wraps itself in a howling and snarled menace, around a great shining finger. A glove protects almost delicate looking, claw tipped fingers. The fist pulls back. Shard of sky falling, Floating, suspended in their moment of destruction, a glittering frame for the gapping wound that has overtaken everything.
Death...
Death has Green Eyes.
A crown of ice and starlight, pulled straight from the coldest north, hair that drifts like the drowned. His skin is that of a corpse. His breath a coldness that seems to suck all warmth from the world. There is no rage, no great irritation, his face merely twisted in slight annoyance. Mild displeasure.
And yet it feels like their greatest sin.
It BURNS.
They are ants. Less then ants. He... He LOOMS so TALL. The Green BURNS into their eyes, into their veins, chokes their lungs. The silence stretches. Those great eyes, the eyes of a GOD, move from them. To the man with the Seal.
He dies instantly.
Shit.
They... they need to... to...
Naruto wanders over and picks up the scroll, completely ignore the Giant Sky God Of Death and how all his friends are frozen in primordial fear. He roughly shakes the dirt off the delicate old relic, then squint at it. Figures he's holding it upside-down. Flipping it, he squints harder. Tilts his head and hums.
"Oh!"
He holds his hand up, turning to look at the terrifying Deity From Beyond Comprehension.
"It's me! I'm the Uzumaki! But, uh, I didn't actually summon you? Our stuff got stolen. Which really sucks!" He looks down again, brings the paper nearly to his nose trying to make out some thing. "Uuuuuh, huh. Got it! Can you get smaller? I don't got any BBQ or anything ON me right now, but Choji's Family makes REALLY good food! We can go out to eat? Ooh ooh! Maybe RAMEN! You like Ramen, right?!"
"Yep, Definitely one of Shouta's."
Rumbles The Actual Fucking King Of Death, shaking the trees and ground under your feet. As you probably stare at your fellow Leaf Nin like WTF.
"Sure, man. Give me a second."
And suddenly? He's leaning forward. Shrinking and twisting in ways that are painful to look at. The sky is... is not healing, so much as UNcracking. Rewinding itself to a pristine state. Until only a large, floating, armored God in black and white floats above you. Glowing.
One that... that is apparently FRIENDS with the Uzumaki Clan.
Because of course he is.
Naruto's introducing his Toads. And teammates. You almost feel bad for Hatake. But like? Better you then me, buddy. THEN? Death? Decides? For some inconceivable reason. "You know what? Im'ma just turn into a human WITH NO CHAKRA NETWORK. Reeeeeally freak out the locals."
And now Leaf is INCHARGE of entertaining A GOD until he decides to leave.
Or (presumably) Else.
And!! Because life loves to kick ninjas IN THE BALLS (for their stupid, STUPID life choices, YOU FUCKERS) it just HAD to be the One God? That can SEE DEAD PEOPLE. Because it's not like ninjas have Death Related Traumas or anything!
*internal ninja screaming*

Oliver Aiku x Fem Reader
cw… I had a chubby reader in mind but I never clarified, cock in pussy, wall sex, hook up, quickie, they do not know each other, drunk, condom, orgasm, public sex, sloppy sex, etc…
notepad… Not gonna lie I was like let me write this in honor of his first ever animated appearance in the show! I have a Hermes story in the works and I have an Oscar Piatstri one but I am currently in midterm season so give me time pookies! (Also yes I’ve been gone college has been beating my ass)
“Fuck!” Your voice cried out. Your hands were scratching at his clothed back. What you were doing was disgusting—having sex in a public bathroom. It wasn’t supposed to end like this; you were supposed to get drunk and go home with your friends. But here you were letting a random soccer player fuck your pussy into oblivion. You knew that this would end in one quick orgasm and act as if this had never happened; you didn’t mind. After all, he promised you a fun time, and you took it up with very little hesitation.
“Hush down, baby.” He whispered into your ear while he placed his hands on your ass. He continued to grope the soft flesh of your ass, not caring that while he was doing so he was shoving his cock into your loud pussy. His pants were down to his knees, all rumpled up, his belt still on his pants but unbuckled. His hard cock out with his boxer still on, he moved his cock to the side, giving him room to fuck you. As for you, your dress was tightly on your body, and your panties were moved to the side, giving him the best access to the one thing he wanted, your pussy.
The bathroom was as hot as it could be, with no air conditioning and covered in spray paint. The room dimly lit with red lighting complimenting the dark red aesthetic of the entire club. For a bathroom covered in spray paint, it was clean to a certain extent. You would never allow your own body to fall onto the sticky floor, but the wall was clean enough to allow him to fuck you.
“So good, Aiku, don’t stop.” You tried to say in a whisper, wanting desperately not to get caught. Never in your life have you imagined letting a random stranger fuck you in a club bathroom, but here you were, and just like him, you were loving it. He loved those words leaving your mouth. He loved it so much. If there was one thing that could boost his ego, it was when a pretty girl like you begged him to continue fucking you. His black and green hair stuck to his skin easily. Your body was already so sweaty it was clear from him holding your body up; occasionally his hands would struggle to get a grip, but he always managed. He may be using you as a hole to fuck, but he would still treat you with some level of respect.
“As you wish, baby.” He grinned at you; his beautiful, two-toned eyes stared at you in the red-lit room. Your breast bounced with every thrust of his. He was getting tired of just thrusting into your sopping wet pussy. Your juices hitting the floor of the semi-clean bathroom and soaking his condom-covered cock. He stopped, and in a second he began to move your body up and down his cock. “That feels good, doesn’t it, baby?”
“Mhm.” You mumbled as you felt your eyes roll. Your one arm gripped at his muscular neck and the other scratched at his clothed body. If you two were naked, you likely would have left lasting damage on his built body. His lips reached at your neck hungrily while his arms continued to move your body. His lips sucked at your skin; he loved quickies—the way he could just grab a random girl and fuck her to release his frustrations. It was an art, and he knew how to perfect it.
“Fuck so tight.” He complimented right under your ear. You clenched harder around his cock from hearing those words. He truly knew how to fuck a girl; he knew what to say, and you were no different. You were there for his pleasure and a side gift you would get to cum. It was a win-win situation. You get to be fucked properly, and he gets to cum. Your pussy pulsated with pleasure; each thrust followed with the sensation of being full. He was big, and it felt amazing; he knew how to work his cock. Fucking you until your pussy could not take any more of him.
Your moans were erotic, music to his ears. He loved it; it was all so sinful and wrong. Disgustingly wrong; no one should be getting fucked in a club bathroom, but here you two were, and there was no complaint from either of you. There was a heat that emanated from your two bodies; it wasn’t just from the heat of the bathroom; it was the heat of pleasure. His moans were low right under your ears, his mouth continuously working on your neck.
“Ah… ah- please make me cum! Aiku please!” You begged, and he could feel it the way your velvety walls clenched and pulsated faster and harder. Each time they clenched it, it made it harder to move you off his cock. His arms were gaining a workout from moving your body, and it was even more of a burn when your pussy kept him deep inside you, refusing to let him go. “Please… please-please-please!”
“So close aren’t you?” He knew he was being condescending, but he knew you would love it. He heard your moans and accepted it as his answer. He pressed your body against the wall more, squishing you against his body. “I need you to put your legs on the ground so I can fuck you, baby.” You nodded, and he slowly helped you put your legs down, and as your feet made contact with the ground, he thrust harsher and deeper. His arms were slammed against the wall beside your hands.
He ripped the precious moans of yours; it was pornographic the way you called out his name. You two did not care anymore about getting caught. He needed to cum, and you needed to cum with him. He finally felt his cock begin to twitch at the way your pussy sucked him in and knew that he was just as close as you. He began to thrust at the right pace, and there he felt your walls spasming. Your head slammed into his chest, and he groaned; his cock felt it all milking him. His cock came deep inside your pussy luckily, his condom kept it all inside.
“Ha…ha…” He breathed out his mouth, going onto the top of your forehead, and kissed it. He pulled out and placed a hand on your waist to keep you up. He reached with his free hand, pulling his condom off, and looked at your tired self. “How about I drive you home? Least I could do for this fuck.” He heard you laugh tiredly and nodded your head against his chest.
“I would appreciate it.”
“No problem.” His hand still held onto his condom, and his other still gripped at your figure. Maybe he would want to fuck you again if you were down for it.

Your art is genuinely one of the most inspiring I’ve seen in ages. Immediately upon discovering your blog, I was mesmerized by your creativity bleeding into and staining each piece you’ve posted. Don’t know a lick of Homestuck, but it’s unnecessary to when your art tells me all I need to know without saying a single word. I can grasp why fans of the comic hold it so dear when you paint such a beautiful image of it. (figuratively, not referring to your actual paintings, LOL! Does this count as a pun?)
Sorry, this is just an unrelated doodle because I don’t have any relevant images to add.
I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to tell me this, thank you. I know it is just like a little act of kindness to you but nice messages mean a lot to me and I wish I could properly project how glad I am to have kind people supporting my art in *any* amount. I’m someone who gets very easily stressed out running accounts so talking to people is what makes it worth the hassle for me. I’m glad you like my art and that it inspires you and anyone else reading this who may feel similarly, I hope I don’t quit art and that I keep improving.
I also do very much recommend giving Homestuck a read if you’ve got the time. The fanbase is unfortunately something I don’t have much of a positive view on but even if it is just some internet comic, reading it growing up is definitely something I wouldn’t take ever back. It has some of the best character / world building of anything I’ve read thus far and it has always just stuck with me. I’ve never had a homestuck friend that moved on from it, which is something I rarely find. I think it appeals to everyone in a different way because of the writing and how vast it is / how many bases it covers. I’m sure that if you ever read it you would find your own connections within the comic. I know though that my drawings are less connected with the atmosphere of the comic itself and infinitely more attuned to my own interpretations and feelings towards the characters, but I also think there is already enough more fitting homestuck art for me to just draw whatever.
Anyways here is my cool new print I got for my wall from @/ReptileEnclosed’s InPrnt, and here are just some of the nice things people have said to me that stick in my mind. Every time someone says something I appreciate I screenshot it and add it to a folder called “Nice Words”.
#Thank you for electing to be kind today.#Also thank you to the people who stick around and consistently support my shit. I don’t want to name names and run the risk of embarrassment#but I know who you guys are and it always a pleasure to hear from any of you. Also my mutuals even though I don’t have many. Hi#Sorry for cheesy dumb post no one cares about. Haha. I’m really trying to not just spam my page with asks but it’s so hard#ask

I was making breakfast and listening to an episode of Just King Things this morning, which is a podcast I do recommend -- two very smart English teachers are reading the books of Stephen King in publication order and discussing them. This could go extremely awry except they're both highly conscious of his failings as well as his skill, so they do really well handling a lot of his less salutatory content.
They've hit the point in King's ouvre (this episode was about Hearts In Atlantis) that follows his recovery from the car accident that very nearly killed him, where he was struck by a van while out walking. One of them pointed out that it seems as though he came back from nearly dying determined to write the wildest shit imaginable and only write what he wanted, which struck a chord in me this time despite having listened to this episode before. Perhaps because I was thinking about my own writing and where it's going in the short term (there are a couple of short stories I want to do that I don't quite have a way into yet). I generally don't think about the drift of my creativity in the long term because when I do I usually draw the wrong conclusions.
I don't really classify my life, the way some people who've had high-impact injuries do, as before-TBI and after-TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury -- the fairly severe concussion I had in January of 2020). For one thing, given I had to cancel a trip to NYC because of it, it may have saved my life; I almost certainly would have caught COVID as someone with known lung issues in New York at the time. For another, the TBI was way scarier to almost everyone else; for me it was just one more dumb injury I gave myself and I didn't even remember most of it so it hardly registered. I used to open the story of it with a joke about waking up not remembering going to bed the night before, but nobody ever found it funny.
It's true that there are changes it wrought in my life, though. Even practical stuff like making sure my living space doesn't have tripping hazards and continuing to wear a fitbit even though I don't really need to (the fitbit told us, the morning after, exactly when the concussion happened, because it registered a heart-rate spike when I fell). For weeks after, I had to move slowly and put off making important decisions because I couldn't trust my physical or intellectual judgement; I didn't even jaywalk in my own neighborhood because I couldn't be sure I was judging the cars' speeds properly. For about a year after I had periodic post-concussion syndrome which basically just slammed me back into concussion space, which wasn't painful or upsetting but was definitely inconvenient.
And it's also undeniable that my writing shifted after the injury. It's not necessarily because of the injury, since my initial recovery from the TBI and the declaration of quarantine happened at roughly the same time, and anyone who tells you that a years-long global pandemic didn't impact their artistic expression is selling you a line. But the last thing I wrote before the TBI was the first draft of Six Harvests, and aside from the Six Harvests publication draft, which had fairly minimal changes, almost all that I've written has been blue-sky, light-hearted, PG-rated romance. It's been on my mind that I've been writing different subject matter from what I used to, but the timing of it didn't strike me until just recently.
I don't mind, really. I love fandom and I support fanfic in whatever expression it comes, but I'm also happy writing my own stories. While I'm aware it's been years since I've meaningfully written fanfic, it doesn't bother me per se, as long as I'm writing. It bothered me much more when I could write fanfic but not original fic, especially in those last few awful months at my last job. I'm proud of the literary and non-genre fiction I've written in the past, but it's also much more trying and frustrating to write at times, so I'm enjoying having a different sort of challenge that feels more fulfilling in the process. I'm sure at some point I'll go back to literary fiction -- there are ways in which it's hard to avoid turning the later Shivadh novels into literary fiction, being honest -- but for now I like what I'm writing, and I'm writing primarily to please myself and without regard to what's necessarily rational or linear.
Just struck me, is all, that it's by far the most noticeable major shift in my work. I do sort of wonder what will be next.

SV Redeemed AU
INTRODUCTION / DISCLAIMER
First things first, these designs for Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla are FAR into the future. Quite literally end game phase of the story, the “they grow old together and live happily ever after”. There's a long way to get there, and while I will write some of my thoughts about their journey, I'm a shitty writer. There's no single thought-out plot, it's just bits and pieces of my thoughts in one place.
I don't think I'd be making a tag or naming this AU anything specific. I'm still calling it an AU because there is a bit of canon divergence, but I don’t have a start-to-finish story. (EDIT: wellp that lasted long. new name is #False-Truth AU because I like the oxymoron. I still don't think I'll do much - maybe a few short comics, which you'll be able to find under that tag on my profile)
Keep in mind that these are just my own interpretations, if you imagine these cookies acting differently, that's ok! This is just my own made-up alternate version
LONG POST UNDER THE CUT - don't say I didn't warn ya
I’ve tried to divide it into sections, so if you are looking for just smth specific / only care about one of the characters, you can skip right to it!
Prepare for the ramblings.
PURE VANILLA'S DESIGN
more relaxed now - doesn’t need to keep up perfect appearances and the image of a hero, so he can lay back a bit more. (messier, less perfectly styled hair - more like his younger years. comfier clothes.)
focusing on herbology - with less power now (why explained below) and trying to not overwork himself, he’s taken to different healing methods, as well as taking on gardening as a hobby
slightly more open eyes - (heavily elaborated on bellow)
different staff - due to being able to use his own eyes more now, as well as staying more on the low, he’d decided to retire the famous staff. Since it’s a flower, it was planted somewhere and allowed to blossom and grow freely - fitting symbolism for a new beginning, I think. The lantern light glowing blue makes it easier on his eyes.
PV STORY BITS
In this AU Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla retire together. I think PV would still like to teach, but would focus more on the medical and practical side of things, like herbs and healing practices. (He’ll leave telling tales about the past to Shadow Milk, though he might throw in his own comments from time to time…) He mostly offers advice and shares every-day methods for protection of different kinds with those who ask, but may take on an apprentice or few to fully pass down his healing knowledge to. He uses magic sparingly now.
This way with not focusing on a variety of subjects and many, many students, he’s able to rest more and doesn’t have to split himself between multiple worries. He can focus properly and give his students more individual attention, to make sure his knowledge will be retained for the future.
Eyes
(don't jump me pls read the footnote)
I've decided to take the closed/covered eyes motif PV has in a bit more symbolic way *. I want to interpret it as PV being blind (=ignorant) to the world around him, choosing to see the world and his own actions in an idealized light, and to look away from anything that doesn't fit that idea. Light sensitivity would be very ironic yet fitting - since his own powers are very light-based, by using them to help others he’d be blindinding/hurting himself in the process...
Over time, he realizes how futile it is. Even if he turns his eyes away from the wrongdoing in the world, from his own mistakes and imperfections, they will still continue to happen. He begins to understand that he has to accept that neither he nor the world is perfect, to stop wallowing over the past and start fixing the present. To keep moving forward and keep working on himself, not hide his imperfections under literal and figurative wraps.
With the help of Shadow Milk, he begins to open his eyes more and more and accept the real truth, no matter how imperfect it is.
*I’m not sure how confirmed it was in canon that he’s blind (from what I’ve seen it was mostly implied, but still). I'm not erasing that - for the sake of this AU, I'd like to say that he has partial issues with sight (including the mentioned light sensitivity), but now he learns to accommodate them rather than ignore them and hurt himself more for the sake of others. No, he doesn't magically gain full sight now, but he's more comfortable, healthier, and more honest about the world around him with all of its imperfections.
Burnout
I believe SM and PV complete each other so perfectly because they can help each other grow in areas where the other is lacking/struggling. With PV, I’d like to focus on burnout, false ideas, and how the pressure he’s constantly under has affected him. He was very much just a normal guy before receiving his Soul Jam. Years beyond a normal cookie’s lifespan of hard work and trying to be the perfect leader, to always ensure the happiness of all his people (whether that be as king or otherwise) are bound to take a toll on anyone. Obviously he'd never admit that, always putting everyone else before his own needs, and he’d likely run himself into the grave. That's where I think Shadow Milk would be helpful - he’d make him realize how unsustainable what he’s doing really is. He wasn’t built for handling immense power for all of eternity, he’s just a single cookie and whether he likes it or not, he can’t save everyone or make every single one of his people happy... Being selfish isn’t entirely wrong, sometimes might even be necessary.
Onto the idea of false truth - Pure Vanilla has a very idealized view of a lot of things and people. He’s trying to see everyone in the best light, but he also holds a high standard for himself - that he must be the ideal, shining and caring hero and a beacon of perfection . Shadow Milk is likely to pick that image apart - probably not in the kindest way, saying that in trying to be perfectly selfless, PV is putting himself on the pedestal above everyone else while still being just a single cookie with limited capabilities. He’d likely call this image egoistical, and while PV would argue that he’s doing it for the good of others (he is helping after all, right?), Shadow Milk wouldn’t be entirely wrong - this way of thinking, that he’s the one who must take care of everyone else, is harmful for both him and the ones he’s trying to protect.
Shadow Milk would show him that truth is relative, that “pure truth” doesn’t exist, for anyone could interpret it differently. That PV isn’t (and doesn't have to be) the perfect blameless hero. That his people aren’t as good or pure as he’d like to give them credit for, but neither are they helpless.
Shadow Milk metaphorically and literally helps him open his eyes - he slowly learns to lay back, to accept the reality and “truth”, whatever it may be, and is no longer blinding and burning himself out by trying to help everyone at once. With a new mindset and outlook of the world, he can allow himself to retire, and leave a calmer, out-of-the-spotlight life.
Retirement
Ok, controversial idea, but I think the ancients will have to one day retire and pass down their SoulJams. Yes, I played Cookie Odyssey, I know how important it is to them, but hear me out. As I said above (which is shown in the game btw, but correct me if I'm wrong), they were just normal cookies before taking on the roles of the Ancient Heros. Cookies with high achievements, yes, but still. They aren’t The Beasts, baked specifically for the purpose of handling the Soul Jams, and even then, The Beasts weren’t perfect. I’m not saying they’re bound to get corrupted like their predecessors did, but I am saying that this role is bound to take a toll on them. Not even just from the perspective of power, even just handling so many responsibilities with running their kingdoms is going to be extremely draining mentally. (Physically likely too, even if they’re said to stay “always young” thanks to the Soul Jams - many stories teach that you can’t mess with nature and that nothing lasts forever...)
I don’t know who they’d pass the Soul Jams along too - whether that’d be Gingerbrave and his friends, or a new batch of heroes, that is to be decided. The point is, they have served their purpose, they have (from the perspective of this AU) defeated Dark Enchantress, and deserve to now leave the rest of their lives in peace.
SHADOW MILK'S DESIGN
“mellowed out” a bit - continues to be eccentric and dramatic, but less manic
still unsettling - most level-headed cookies upon meeting him immediately get a feeling that there's something.. off about him, even if they can't put their finger on it. (I purposefully left some of his corrupted design elements or callbacks to them, like the marking over his eye, for that reason)
vibrant, colorful, very extra in both behavior and looks, everything he does he does with drama and flourish
quiets down when out of the eyes of the public, or alone with Pure Vanilla
peacock elements - fitting for someone with such a vibrant personality. also the eye connection is perfect - if you look closely at the feather he's wearing, you might even notice a familiar symbol in its “eye”
a playful bard - (elaborated heavily bellow) - an identity allows him to enjoy his favorite activities, while also being a slight callback to his academic past
SM STORY BITS
The bard
While spending more time with Pure Vanilla, PV encouraged him to pursue his creative interests. Partly to have smth to get SM’s mind off of causing chaos, and partly because they let him indulge and express himself without causing any serious damage. Now he’s joined PV in retirement, though still not fully stepping down from the stage.
Being a bard allows Shadow Milk to indulge in everything he likes most: being the center of attention, dramatics, theatrics, mischief, a tasteful dose of lies and half-truths, but also, in a way, calling back to his past self: for while a lot of his stories are made-up tales, he can also share the history of Earthbread that he’s witnessed. Yes, he may do so through over-dramatic performances or behind caricatural characters, but every tale holds a grain of truth, does it not? Whether his audience chooses to believe him or not is their choice to make.
Referencing the fact that a big part of human history survived through word of mouth, and how storytellers play an important role in preserving it, I think it’s only fitting to make him a bard.
About visual choices
I made his redeemed design less chaotic and asymmetrical, but still vibrant and based mostly on his current color palette, rather than the one from Blueberry Academy. That's because while he may be rediscovering his interests from the past, he’s not the person he was before corruption and never will be again. Instead, he too is learning to rediscover the world in a new light, with a new identity.
Visually I’ve tried to keep some elements from his current design, if slightly toned down: a wide collar, puffy sleeves, a flowy cape. Elements of his corruption are also still there: different colored sclera (= his one eye being black), the sharp teeth. He may have settled down and calmed down slightly, but he remains as playful as ever :))
He still causes local chaos once in a while or resorts to pranking unsuspecting cookies nearby (the slight charring at the bottom of PV’s robe is a result of one of such pranks getting out of hand), and PV has accepted that he'll never be a calm, put-together cookie he once might have been. However, SM's learned to not be a danger to others for the sake of the one he cares about the most, and that's enough for the both of them.
And that's all for now! If you've managed to get this far, thank you SO much for your patience, I hope you've enjoyed my thoughts and brainworms <3

It is currently 8 am and I stayed up all night writing. This idea I had a while ago crept its way back into my mind and would not let go until I had written this thing out. Please excuse any spelling or grammar mistakes, I am very sleep-deprived and have not properly proofread it.
Enjoy!
After Morgause’s ritual Ygrain may have vanished from Arthur’s sight but she did not leave his side. She watched his rage build as he rode back to Camelot. She watched as he confronted Uther about his newly acquired knowledge of the circumstances of his birth. She watched as the man she once called husband so flippantly dismissed the charges laid against him and felt her own rage boil inside her, echoed in the fury of her son's words. She watched as Arthur threw down his gauntlet, as the seriousness of the situation finally hit Uther. She watched their fight with a sick mix of satisfaction at Uther finally facing consequences and horror at Arthur’s actions.
By the time the servant boy arrived horror had won out. She was relieved when he managed to talk Arthur down. She desperately wanted Uther to face justice for what he’s done but not this way, not by Arthur’s blade. The murder of one's father is a stain on the soul that can not be washed out and one she would never wish upon her beloved son.
She understood why the boy, Merlin, had lied to stop Arthur. In the state of mind he was in she doubted that anything else would have stopped him from running Uther through. Though she could tell it pained him to say such words. Since the day Merlin had arrived in Camelot Ygraine had watched this boy protect her son with magic and now he forced himself to speak ill of it in order to protect his soul. She’d grown fond of Merlin as she’d witnessed the growing bond between him and Arthur but this instilled an affection for him in her that almost rivaled that of her love for Arthur. His care and devotion to Arthur was as endearing as it was heartbreaking.
That night she watched over Arthur as he slept, as she had done many nights before. As she expected he had trouble falling asleep and what sleep he found was not restful. She knew she could do little to soothe him but she hoped that on some level he knew she was there and that her presence would help.
Currently, he lay on his side, face smushed into the pillow and hair fallen over his eyes. For now, he had stopped tossing and turning in his sleep and seemed to be getting some level of rest. Ygrain smiled at the image he made. Oh, how she loved her ridiculous boy.
She reached out, wishing to brush the hair away from his sleeping face. When her fingertips reached the golden strands she expected them to pass through, instead she felt their softness against her skin. She pulled her hand away with a gasp. Surely she had imagined it. But then she looked closer. The hair she had reached for sat differently than it had before. The difference was miniscule but it was there. She had touched her son’s hair. And her touch had caused it to shift ever so slightly.
Slowly she reached out again and could not contain a smile as her fingertips connected with Arthur’s hair once more. She lifted her hand upwards towards the side of Arthur’s head and marveled at how the strands of hair followed her movement. She shifted his fringe away from his eyes and smoothed out the hair that stood on end. She ran her fingers through those silky golden threads with reverence.
She never thought she’d feel what it was like to touch something again. She thought that brief moment during the ritual would be the first and last time she’d get to hold her son. She never thought she’d get to experience this simple joy of stroking her baby’s hair while he slept.
As she continued to tentatively move her hand she felt him shift beneath her fingers and she froze. The last thing she wanted was to wake him. But that wasn’t the case. No, instead he leaned into her touch. She released a breath she didn’t need and continued her ministrations. Arthur nuzzled into her touch, his face so relaxed and peaceful. Ygraine wished she could stay in this moment forever.
Minutes passed, or it could have been hours, Ygraine was uncertain. But eventually, Arthur rolled over in his sleep and out of her reach. With the moment broken, Ygraine turned her attention to the things around the room. Could she touch them?
A glinting of light caught her eye. The sun was beginning to rise and the morning rays were peaking through a small gap in the curtains covering the windows, shining off of the gold tassels. She made her way over to them and eagerly reached out to grab hold of the closest one. A huff of quiet laughter escaped her as she felt the expensive material in her hand. She moved her arm this way and that way, amazed as the heavy fabric followed her movements. She delighted in the way they caused the light to shift and sparkle off of the tassels. With a sudden burst of confidence she scrunched up her fistful of curtain and flung it to the side, pouring light into the room. Behind her, she heard a groan from Arthur.
“Too early Merlin” He grumbled before settling back to sleep.
Whatever spell Morgause had cast had changed things. She could touch Arthur. She could move the curtains. She could interact with the physical world.
Ygraine smiled. It seems she has some unfinished business to attend to.

Stress Relief (part 3, a Miguel O'hara fanfic), 18+, Minors Do not Interact
Summary: a date night with Miguel turns heated when you bring out a special board-game...
Tags: F/M, established relationship, Smut, spanking, dirty talk, mention of masturbation (M), mention of kinks, nipple and breast play, cunnilingus, doggy-style, aftercare,
Word count: 3560
Disclaimer: English is not my first language.
I took inspiration from a real game to write this story. The idea of the game is not mine but some of the bets and cards are.
This one is going to be horny.
=============================================
After the last presents Miguel gave you, you felt like you had to offer him something, to thank him properly. He didn’t ask you for anything, but you actually liked this little game and you wanted to reciprocate. Because, yes, this has turned into a little game. These last months, you both had found the way to spice things up in the bedroom, an expression that would have made you cringe years ago but there was no other way to describe it. It could be something as simple as lighting up some candles or things a bit more elaborate like using toys. Either way it always ended up well.
But after a few months like this, things you couldn’t accept to fall back into a routine. That’s why you were on your way to find something else for your couple nights.
And as soon as your eyes landed on the red box in the middle of the sex shop, you knew you had found what you needed…
***
“What are you up to?”
It didn’t take Miguel long to sense that something had changed within you today. He just barely made it back home and just after taking his shoes off, he rushed by your side on the couch to kiss your cheek tenderly. Ever since he came back home from that business trip, he has been even more clingy and affectionate than he has ever been.
Good.
You know he is going to love his surprise. It was easy for him to guess how excited you were under that calm and composed facade you were trying to hold onto. But he knew you too well to be fooled by it. As soon as he mentioned it, you faced him with a marge grin.
“I may have gotten you a little something today…”
Miguel grunts. He is still not used to getting presents from you, or anyone else for that matter. And you made it your mission to get him used to small attentions like this. There’s no reason he got to always be the one gifting you things when you could do the same...especially when the said present could profit both of you.
“Honey...I appreciate but it is not necessary-”
You grab the bag hidden behind the back of the couch and hand it to him with a wide grin. How is he supposed to tell you no when you look at him this way? He huffs and with a resigned shrug he grabs the bag. His cheeks are already tinted with a soft pink hue. It’s obvious he feels flustered from the mere fact you took your time to gift him something. You can’t wait to see his reaction to the gift if he already blushes like that…
You’re not disappointed when he takes the box in his hands and an incredulous look washes over his face. His brows pool together and he suddenly starts laughing, almost nervously. When he finally catches his breath, he asks, still in that incredulous voice:
“A board-game? You brought me a sexy board-game?”
He thought he had already seen everything from you since the day you introduced him to the joys of the shower head, but this...This was different. This was probably one of the tamest things you gifted each other and somehow one of the most intriguing. He heard a lot about people surprising their partners with lingerie and such things...but a board game. That was new.
“How are we even supposed to use this?”
“There’s a rulebook inside the box…” After a short pause, during which he carefully opens the bright red box, you ask: “You don’t like it?”
“What? Of course no...I like it. It’s just...unexpected…” Miguel replies while chuckling. He finally opens the red box and grabs the rulebook, his eyes scanning the document quickly.
“It can’t be that hard to play…”
***
One thing you had forgotten was how competitive Miguel actually was. The rules were indeed quite easy to follow. It was a classical goose game but with extra cards and bets to spice up the game. After half an hour of game and probably too many glasses of wine, you had a very loose way of following the game. But it wasn’t Miguel’s case.
“You have to draw a card there.”, he exclaims while pointing at the pile of remaining cards. You groan, the last time you had to pick up a card you ended up with the bet of massaging his shoulders. Miguel had picked up the Stripping card. Therefore he was sitting down the couch, only dressed in his briefs. He didn’t seem very bothered by it and even refused putting on a blanket because game is game and one has to follow the rule.
It’s not like you would complain.
After taking one last sip of wine, you picked up a card and made a giggling sound. Miguel’s interest was suddenly piqued by your reaction.
“What did you got?”
“What have you been fantasizing to? Text your partner your latest fantasy.”
“Ooohh that one is going to be interesting…”, Miguel grins while giving you your phone. You didn’t even realize you had left it so far away from you. He watched you typing with a satisfied smile on your lips. The way your eyes shine and your carmine lips had tainted the glass, how you were sitting down the couch, your skirt slightly riding up your thighs...he could admire you like this for hours. Just when he was about to wrap his arm around your shoulders and pull you closer, his phone vibrated with your message and from the self-satisfied look on your face, he didn’t know hat to expect.
You watched in delight his face turn red just a shade darker as he took in the message. After a few seconds, he asked with his expression now shifting to amusement:
“You do know that there are cameras in most places like this, huh?”
“That’s where lies the fun.” He was clearly not expecting such an answer from you and decided to put it on the account of the wine you had. You surprised yourself with your boldness but it was worth it for the look on his face alone.
“Jesus, you’re something else you know that?” He asked with a chuckle. The only response he got from you was a slight shrug of your shoulders and a sultry look. Miguel cleared his throat and shifted uncomfortably on the sofa, trying to hide the strain he was feeling in his boxers.
The dices rolled on the coffee table and Miguel moved his piece across the board from three boxes. He groaned as soon as he recognized the purple box but still drew a card. You didn’t think it was possible and yet, his cheeks grew even more flushed.
“Show me what you got.”
With the sudden movement of your body in his direction, Miguel almost dropped the card. You were suddenly much closer, leaning over his shoulder to look at the card...and maybe at something else. His legs crossed as a reflex, trying to hide the shape of his arousal. Your alcohol ridden breath, your musky scent and the closeness of your body didn’t hide the situation down there at all. Neither did your adorable giggle. You finally read the card out loud:
“Where was the most unconventional place you’ve ever had sex at?”
Miguel felt his cheeks grow more heated under your curious gaze as he recalled an infamous moment of his early life. He swallowed hard before confessing in a small voice:
“My office.”
Your eyes opened wide at his confession. In his office? That was unexpected. You couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy as he remembered this memory. He just told you that he found it weird to do it in public spaces and yet, he already indulged in it with someone else in the past. Your hips drew into a thin line as you asked as nonchalantly as possible:
“With who?”
He replied without even lifting his head up to look at you:
“No one. I was...alone…”
You took an other sip of wine to make the information pass. The image of Miguel alone in his office, in one of most refined tailor-suit, furiously pumping his cock while trying to muffle his moans and groans flashed through your mind. No way you two would finish this game tonight…
“I was...thinking of you…”
This new confession almost got a moan out of you and you asked quietly:
“Did it happen...only once?”
He bashfully nodded: “Yeah...I...almost got caught so I didn’t feel like trying again.”
The new image popping through your mind definitely didn’t help your own arousal. Miguel pinning you down his desk, spreading you out for him to pounce into, the rocking of the desk, the shadows of passer-by behind the closed curtains of the office… You squeezed your thighs together and tried your best to compose yourself.
“My turn.”
You put down your glass and rolled the dice. You sighed of relief when you moved your piece and didn’t have to draw a card. Miguel feigned frustration at your luck:
“How come you always avoid these traps and I’m here, almost naked?”
“Guess I’m just lucky.”, you replied with a cocky smile.
Miguel rolled his eyes but a smirk betrayed his own amusement. The dice rolled and he moved his piece onto a bright red box. You had never picked a box like this one. This would be fun.
Miguel read the card out loud this time: “Your partner has been a very naughty boy/ girl. Spank them ten times or they have to move back from five boxes… Oh I think I like this one…”
“Of course, you do…”, you rolled your eyes while crawling toward him. Miguel quickly takes hold of your shoulders and pulls you closer until you lie flat on his lap. He usually didn’t make you stand this way and the position was quite...unexpected.
Miguel’s palm took in the curve of your ass, offered to his view and his delight with a low, satisfied hum.
“May I?” You nodded quickly and his hand slipped under the fabric of your skirt, wrapping around your leg and sliding up. When his fingers sank into the plush flesh of your thighs an other low hum slipped through his lips. You were growing impatient and started squirming on his laps, which he stopped with the strong hold of his hand:
“Now, don’t get impatient, sweetheart…”
His fingers hiked up higher on your thighs, feeling the heat from your core and yet he chose to not act upon it. Instead his hand lifted up your skirt, exposing your backside, only covered in a blue, lacy thong. He only gave it a pretty uninterested look, given that the real prize he was looking for laid underneath. In a swift movement of his wrist, he pulled the underwear down to your thighs exposing your skin to the cool air of the night.
Coolness washed over your skin, that pebbled into goosebumps, and over your aching sex. You squeezed your thighs tightly before he rose his hand and gave you the first slap. It wasn’t as hard as what he could do but your body still jumped at the sensation.
“Stop squeezing your legs like that, honey...And let me see…”
An other slap eased you into obedience you relaxed a bit, just when his fingers slipped down the curve of your ass, and then lower, lower until they reached your puffy lips. He parted them slowly, relishing in the way his fingers slipped over the moisture and your soft skin. A bit of your arousal coated his fingers and he watched with awe the glistening of your juice over his skin.
“You’re already so wet…”
Despite your obvious arousal, he didn’t act upon it. The rules didn’t allow him to touch you further and he was a rule-abiding player. No matter how much you were pleading for him to touch you, to ease the ache between your legs, Miguel only gave you an other smack.
“Patience, baby...Patience…”
When you finally sat down, your buttcheeks stung slightly and the red marks were a testimony of Miguel’s ministrations. God, how did he love seeing those marks on you…
“Your turn.”, he purred with a sultry tone. You rolled the dice and ended up on pink box. You groaned and begrudgingly took the card Miguel handed you.
“Is it chilly out there? Or is it just your partner getting heated? Your partner gets to stimulate your nipples for two minutes however he wants.” You grumbled: “That’s...what kind of bet is this?”
Miguel was practically beaming when he hear the bet and he already had plenty ideas on how to make it a reality.
“Come on, princess… You’re the one who chose it.” You could tell he was getting bolder the more you both played the game. He looked at your shirt, already undressing you with his searing gaze.
“Come on, shirt off…” With each button that popped open, Miguel could feel the straining in his boxers getting more intense. But that wasn’t enough for him. Sure, you were looking delectable, undressing slowly with your flushed cheeks and plush curves on display, gracefully outlined by the same blue lace than the one on your thong...But he had other appetites tonight.
“The bra too…”, he almost groaned. You tried to reach for the clasp in the back and after fumbling a bit with it, the garment finally dropped down your lap. Miguel hummed in contentment when he finally got to see your breasts free and it took all his will to resist the urge to just draw the outline of them with his hands, to worship them like he usually did… Instead he would have to focus on your nipples exclusively.
He grabbed his empty, if not for a few ice cubes, whiskey glass and scouted a bit closer to you.
“We should put on a timer…”, you breathed out, looking with anticipation at his fingers grasping the ice cube.
“Just relax…”, he whispered. And then the ice cube made contact with the tips of your breasts. The cold sensation sent a jolt straight toward your core and you clenched your thighs. Without any panties on, the moist sensation between your legs was more tangible and seemed heightened. You were actually very aware of every new sensation occurring on your body, from the pebble of your skin, the dampness of your core, the tightening of your nipples… After rubbing the areolas minutely and watching them puff out, Miguel let the ice cube melt against your flushed skin. Time was running out and he didn’t waste any more time; he leaned forward but instead of sucking on the hardened nubs he gently blew on them.
The stark contrast made your breath hitch and a gasp slipped your lips. Your core practically clenched, thirsty for something to grip on while your tender nipples swelled. Miguel’s hands held you firmly, one of them on your hips and the other on your shoulder, his fingers mindlessly toying with a few strands of your hair.
When he finally pulls back, he watches with a contented smile the way your nipples poke out, red and swollen. He did this. And you’re already a whimpering mess, flushed and needy. He can’t resist it and he nuzzles his face between your cleavage for a few seconds, taking the musky scent of your sweat gathered between the slope of your curves. You don’t have the will to push him away despite the rules of the game. His hands roam your back, following the curve of your spine and he whispers in a husky voice:
“Don’t put it back on, please…”
Without realizing it, your bodies start rocking slowly on top of the couch while his lips follow trace the curve of your breasts. Their pliable flesh pulls him in and he can’t resist the temptation of brushing his face against them, rubbing his stubble of a beard across them, watching in awe your every reaction.
“Miguel...we haven’t finished the game…”, you weakly protested while simultaneously lying back on the couch. He simply shrugged his shoulders and looked up, his gaze greedy:
“I think I’ve found something better than the game…”
***
You were spread out on the coffee table among the last remains of the board game, most of it tossed neglectfully on the floor. Your hair fanned around your face and your shoulders while you whimpered, each sound a response to Miguel’s expert licks. His nose was buried deep between your folds as he licked and lapped greedily at your cunt, eating you out like a starved man with your legs wrapped around his neck.
He would alternate between kissing your clitoris and lapping at your slit, all while giving playful tweaks to your nipples. This was not your first orgasm of the night and you were starting to feel dizzy from his endless devotion. When he felt that you were close once again, he gave one last playful lick on your clitoris, twisting the bud with his tongue and watched you unravel under him.
“You’re so fucking beautiful like this…”, he rasped out while kissing your feverish skin all around your mid-section despite the tremor of your body.
“Miguel...I need you…”
“I know...I need you too… Let me just…”, he stuttered while looking for a condom. You always had some in your purse but...his eyes feel on the opened box of the board game and the single bag of a condom inside. He internally smile, thinking that the designer of the game really thought about everything.
He didn’t know how he managed to not come undone but as soon as his fingers rolled the condom over his length, he knew he wouldn’t last long. And you knew it too by the way he would grunt and groan.
“Turn around, please...Wanna see the marks while I fuck you…”
Miguel took a hold of your thighs and carefully helped you roll on your stomach. The two of you were kneeling in front of the coffee table, him behind you, massaging your soft side, trying to ease you into this:
“You’re feeling alright, sweetheart? Feeling good?”
Seeing you nod to all his questions made his heart swell in appreciation. He didn’t deserve you… He placed a rain of kisses down your shoulder blade while fondling your rosy butt, still adorning the marks of his spanking. The sight only could get him going for hours…
“I’m going to move, honey, okay?”
“Yes…”
The next minutes, the two of you rocked back and forth against the coffee table. With each new thrust, you couldn’t help but wonder if the piece of furniture would keep holding you any longer. Miguel’s grip on your hips tightened, almost bruising you as he keeps dragging his length down your walls, feeling you clench and call back for him every time he tried to pull out. He couldn’t help the words of praise that escaped his lips as he kept thrusting into you:
“You’re...so...perfect…Keep it like that...Just a bit more and I’m going to…”
His words got cut by a deep groan on his side and you could feel his pace quickening. You’d never seen him like this, so eager and rough although he tried his best to not hurt you given your size difference. Little did you know that the game you both played earlier had gotten him riled up, so much that he couldn’t stop thinking about what you said on doing it in his office. Those were the only images playing in his mind as he pounded into you with harder thrusts, his hands firmly pining you against the table.
When his body finally fell limp on top of yours, he couldn’t hold back the groan of satisfaction that flew through his lips. He had never felt so...empty, strained after a moment like this. His body wrapped around you, not letting go for now as he breathed deeply into your hair, trying to calm himself down.
You wrapped an arm around his neck as best of your ability and breathed out: “You alright, over there?”
He was glad to not that there was not an ounce of irony in your question but rather genuine concern. Miguel placed a soft kiss over your shoulder and nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck while his hand caressed the curve of your backside:
“I’m fine...I’m more than fine. But you…”
“Hey...it’s okay, Miguel. It’s not going to stay here for long. Just a bit of ointment and it’ll be gone.”
His fingers still gingerly traced the outline of the red marks and he couldn’t help but feel bad for displaying too much strength on you, even if you both agreed on it. His lips slowly trailed down your back until they landed on the plump of your butt.
“Yeah...you’re right…”
You could be sure he would not leave you alone for the rest of the night, making sure you were okay and taken care of as soon as he scooped you up in his arms, guiding you toward the bedroom. His lips placed a tender kiss on your forehead and he whispered against the crown of your head:
“Thanks for the present, it was amazing. You were amazing...”

January Week 1
Welcome welcome to the 2024 Grimoire Challenge! Time to really get started everyone! This week will have a lot of stuff all jammed in. So buckle up, grab your grimoire and your supplies, and let’s get to work!
Monday
Name your book - this may seem silly and you definitely don’t need to name your book. Not properly at least. Other than “my grimoire” or “book of shadows” or what have you, which is totally fine. But some of us might feel the need to give it a proper title. “The Basil Grimoire” or “Hazel’s Handwritten Workings” something, anything, that ties the book to you and your craft. Make a title page! If you feel so inclined. If not, that’s fine too.
Definitions (New Page) - ritual and spell. Let’s define a few things. Make a page specifically for definitions, that we’ll add to through the challenge. Let’s start with a couple simple definitions. Define spell. And define ritual. Within the confines of magic, witchcraft and your practice. What is a spell? What is a ritual? What are the differences?
Study (herb) - Pick another herb from that list we made, and dig into the details. Make a page for it on its own, or add its info to another page! Whatever works for your craft. The questions to ask for these study prompts are going to continue to remain the same. Where did it come from, where does it grow, how does it grow, what are its mundane and practical uses. What are the myths and legends and stories surrounding the herb? What are its magical properties and why/ how do you think the other information you've learned about it have influenced its magical associations?
Tuesday
Outline/ index (New Page!) - it helped me a great deal to have an index or outline to my grimoire. I started this as a file on my computer as my grimoire grew and changed I could more easily manage it and rearrange it as I saw fit. Then eventually I could make it into a handwritten copy.
Study (gem) - Like our herb prompt, the gem prompts are going to always use the same outline and questions. Where does the gem come from? What is it used for in a practical and mundane sense? What are its physical properties? What are any myths, legends or stories? Where and how does it form? How does all of that relate to its magical correspondences and what does the herb mean to and for you in your craft?
Spellwriting 101 (New Page!) - make a new page dedicated to spellwriting. This is going to be one of those prompts that is focused on you and your craft. How do you write spells? How do you set them up? What components do you use? What is the format? How is it done? What does it require? From materials to timing and circumstances? Write it all out in your lab notebook. Make it a work in progress. Not all spells are going to work out the same or function the same as you perform them, but having a general layout and method helps to focus your practice.
Wednesday
Common tools - What are the common tools in your craft? That is, you don't need to have a list of every single tool ever used in witchcraft, just the tools that you use in yours. Both regularly and less regularly. What are they used for specifically? What purposes do they serve in the magical and practical sense? Are they ceremonial and symbolic or do they serve an actual physical purpose? (i.e. a wand used to direct energy serves many purposes, while an incense burner could literally just be that, an incense burner)
Year outline/ calendar - not everyone celebrates the same days, holidays or even the same holidays the same way. What are the special occasions and days in your calendar? Mark them and when the proper season/ holiday comes around, we can make pages dedicated to those days. This week this will simply be a list of these days, while later we will actually make pages for them individually. Think of it like the Wheel of the Year, Yule to Midsummer and so on. What days are important to you and your practice? Are they actual holidays? Or simply days of power like the full moon? Or is it simply days that are significant for other reasons, like the anniversary of the day you began practicing witchcraft?
Practical - tool usage - practice using your tools. For example if you use a wand. Practice using it to direct energies or whatever it is you utilize it for.
Thursday
Altar design/ work space (New Page!) - make a page dedicated to your altar and its setup. Why are things where they are? The reasoning can be simple as “that’s where it fits” or you can give it a more meaningful reason. Candles in front of or behind something to represent some purpose. Do you have items that represent the elements? Deities? Different sources of power or directionality? Different colors for different meanings? Why is your altar the way it is?
Practical - cleansing space - practice cleansing your space and tools. This is of course a physical and 'energetic' cleansing. Tidy it up, redecorate your space, clean the tools if they have dust or ash or anything on them. Sometimes it is good to have a clean start.
Friday
Personal practices - this is just a thought provoking prompt tied in with the Journal prompt below. What are some of your personal practices that you've brought into your witchcraft? Anything from little habits from your every day life to things brought from religion or family traditions. No matter how hard we try, we carry within us echoes of things not related to our practices into it. And that is totally okay. Recognizing them, acknowledging them, and truly incorporating them can be a huge step toward understanding ourselves, our beliefs and our practices all around.
Journal/ introspective/ meditations - Think about the above and write any of it down that you come to terms with. Self understanding is important in and outside of witchcraft.
Thank you all and I hope this week's prompts aren't too overwhelming! Stay tuned next week for the next set of prompts!

── THE GLASS PRINCESS // FOUR
Series Synopsis: You wake up in a strange room with no memories, broken glass at your bedside, and a prince named Zuko as your only chance at figuring out who you really are.
Chapter Synopsis: You go to the zoo with Ty Lee. Later, you and Jia-Li watch a brutal confrontation between Kaho and an underclassman.
Series Masterlist
Pairing: Zuko x Reader
Chapter Word Count: 5.3k
Content Warnings: complicated relationships (strangers to friends to lovers to enemies to strangers to lovers to enemies to lovers), amnesia, alternate universe, lots of secrets and lying and mystery
A/N: big reveal HAHA jia-li is ruon-jian’s sister and kaho is chan’s!! idk if that was what people were expecting or not but i thought it was funny so here we are
To Zuko,
I suppose that, if you really are set on it, it would not hurt me to think of you as my friend. I hope that you are prepared for what that may entail.
I jest. I do not think I am a particularly difficult person to have as a friend, though you might get a more honest review from Ty Lee or Jia-Li. At least in my own opinion (which one might find to be unfairly high), I am agreeable enough to get along with most people — at least those who are agreeable in return (so, not Kaho).
Ty Lee and I went to the zoo. It was entertaining. I am fond of animals, and I found I enjoyed myself more at the zoo than in the academy. At least the birds sound pretty when they screech! The same cannot be said for my dear classmates, who are of the disposition to speak quite incessantly but without anything of substance or value to contribute.
My classes have been going well. I am already at the top of the year, which is partially due to how much I study and partially due to a different factor. I will not call it memory, because it is nothing that that is personal to me, but it is true that at times I will understand something before our teacher has even taught it. I must have been a very learned Fire Nation soldier, indeed.
I had to watch an Agni Kai. One of the girls in the year below us fought Kaho. Of course, she lost. It is such a brutal custom, you know…though of course I understand the cultural significance, it is not a joy to watch. Certainly, I don’t understand how some of the girls were eating snacks and placing bets on the outcome. Luckily, the girl who went against Kaho is alright. Kaho let her off with only a small burn, but it could’ve been much worse.
In better news, Jia-Li has invited me to spend the next break at her house on Ember Island! So I will go there instead of taking up space at the palace. I am excited — I am not sure if I’ve ever been to the ocean or not. It will be exciting to see it for the first time; or, if not for the first time in my life, then for the first time that I will remember. Of course, I will continue to write to you even on vacation, and Jia-Li has already said that I can borrow her clothes and things, so there should be no strain put upon you. If there were, then I would not even suggest it.
The next time I shall see you in person will be after the term is properly over, then. I look forward to it will hopefully be the Fire Nation lady you want me to be by then.
From, Your friend Ursa
P.S. You should not be surprised by what I am about to say: I still don’t remember anything.
“Wow,” Ty Lee said, chewing on a piece of candy as the two of you walked down a gravel pathway together. “I still can’t believe we got free admission!”
“Apparently, all students do,” you said, holding out your hand. She dropped the small, round, fruit-flavored disks in your palm, and you popped it in your mouth, smiling at the burst of flavor. “Though it makes sense they don’t advertise that.”
The Strategy Mistress was sick, so you all had been given leave to spend the afternoon as you pleased. Ty Lee had offered to take you to the zoo with her, remembering that you had mentioned wanting to go when you had woken up in the palace, and you had jumped at the chance to not be in the suffocating dormitory for a little while.
At the moment, you and her were standing in front of the dragon moose enclosure, watching as they grazed. One of the dragon moose had a calf, and it was a sweet looking animal, somehow adorable in its awkward ugliness. As you watched, it had a spurt of energy, jumping and bucking through the pasture, racing along the fence line and only skidding to a stop when it realized it was being ignored. Its ears drooped as it trotted back to its mother’s side, lowering its head to the grass once again.
“These dragon moose look a little different than the ones that pull the carriages,” Ty Lee said.
“Oh, I know why that is,” you said, eager to prove your competence. “Dragon moose are actually only native to one small part of the Fire Nation. The ones that pull our carriages are the offspring of ones that were domesticated many centuries ago. They’ve been selectively bred to best fit our purposes almost since the day our ancestors first tamed them, so they’ve evolved into very different looking animals. The wild dragon moose, such as these ones, never had that push to evolve and optimize to our needs, so they look the same as they have for all of those centuries.”
“You sure do know a lot, Ursa,” Ty Lee said gamely. “Was that school knowledge, book knowledge, or past knowledge?”
“Book knowledge,” you said. “I don’t know if I was that interested in the convergent evolution of domestic and wild dragon moose in my previous life.”
Ever since the first day of your classes, when you had discovered a mysterious aptitude and innate understanding of the rules of etiquette, you and Ty Lee had come up with three categories: school knowledge, book knowledge, and past knowledge. School knowledge referred to the things that you learned in your lessons, the offhand comments and the droning lectures that you remembered better than anyone else in your year. Book knowledge was the summation of the many pages upon pages you had committed to memory, encompassing everything from the political structures of the Fire Nation to the fauna of the Northern Water Tribe. Finally, past knowledge was the most mysterious and ambiguous category, because it meant the random things you just knew in your mind, even though you had no real reason to.
More things than you were really comfortable with fell into that latter category. It really didn’t feel fair — why was it that you could recall the pillars of etiquette and the different battle formations of the Soldiers of Agni, but not anything about who you had been in the past? Why was your identity, which you wanted to know the most, the only thing you could not remember?
In the middle of the zoo was a large, artificial lake. You and Ty Lee stopped at the fence and leaned over to watch the flying dolphin fish leap through the air before diving back into the water with great splashes. A little ways away from you, a child raced up to the fence and gripped it, staring at the flying dolphin fish in awe. One of the fish noticed him and swam over towards him before slamming its tail against the surface of the lake, bowling the child over in a great deluge of salty brine.
You and Ty Lee exchanged looks, neither of you laughing until you saw the other’s face, whereupon you burst into fits of giggles, unable to hold them in any longer.
“Should we go help him?” you gasped out, wiping away the tears gathering in the corners of your eyes. Ty Lee, who was doubled over at this point, shook her head.
“I think — I think his mother’s got him,” she said breathlessly. True to her word, an adult woman was yelling at the boy as he wailed, still face-down and drenched to the bone.
“He should’ve just stayed with the turtle ducks,” you said, shaking your head and pointing at the small flock floating placidly along, far from the mischievous flying dolphin fish. “They’re so cute!”
“From what I remember, there’s a petting zoo area somewhere in the zoo, if you want to try feeding turtle ducks,” Ty Lee said. “I wasn’t able to see it when I came with Azula and Mai, though, because Azula hates turtle ducks.”
“Hates turtle ducks? How could someone hate them? They’re so sweet and guileless,” you said. “Was she wronged by one as a child?”
“You could say that,” Ty Lee said. She didn’t offer further explanation, but considering you had never even met Princess Azula, you didn’t blame her. Whatever her past with the turtle ducks was, it was the princess’s own secret to keep or share at her own discretion.
It took you a while to find the petting zoo, as they had no signs, so you had to ask people to point you in the correct direction. Unfortunately, most of the people that you asked were other visitors, and by the time you finally found a staff member to take you there, you had all but given up on the prospect of going at all.
“Mostly, the people who come to the petting zoo are kids, or at least have some of their own,” the zookeeper said. Ty Lee scowled at her.
“Some of us are young at heart!” she snapped, earning a snort from you and a bewildered look from the zookeeper, who raised her hands in the air and back away.
“I cannot believe that was your response to her,” you said as you reached the counter where a different zookeeper handed you little bags of food to give to the animals.
“I panicked,” Ty Lee admitted. “But really, she had no reason to be judging us! It’s her own job that relies on visitors like us. Who cares about how old we are?”
“Quite right, Ty Lee, and anyways it can be argued that I have about as much life experience as a child, in one way, so she really has no ground to stand on,” you said.
“I wouldn’t say you’re all too childlike,” Ty Lee said. “You act like most anyone else our age would. Maybe more mature, even, but certainly not less, even though you have no memories.”
“Of course, it isn’t as if the effects of my formative experiences on my psyche have been erased just because I can’t remember them,” you said. “They still shaped my spirit, even if I cannot recall how they did so.”
Unfurling your fingers and offering your hand to one of the dragon moose — which was of the domesticated variety, not one of the wild ones from earlier — you used your other hand to rub its forehead.
“Ew! It slobbered all over me!” Ty Lee said as the dragon moose she was feeding swiped its long tongue over her now-empty palm and then across her cheek, ignoring her attempts to shove it off of her.
“That must mean it likes you,” you said. She stopped trying to shove it away, her expression growing contemplative as the dragon moose used its lips to play with her long braid.
“Aw,” she said. “Now I feel kinda bad for being so mean.”
“I don’t think it’s offended, but maybe you should get your braid out of its mouth before it chews it off,” you said. Ty Lee yelped and yanked her braid out of the dragon moose’s grasp, jumping away to stand behind you.
“As soon as we get back to the academy, I’m going to have to shower,” she said, shuddering.
“You do smell somewhat like dragon moose,” you said, sniffing her delicately and then wrinkling your nose. “Wanna go back to the flying dolphin fish? I’m sure they’d be happy to rinse you off.”
“Very funny!” she said.
“It feels like you don’t think it’s that funny,” you said, snickering. “Which is a shame, because I do.”
“Let’s just go see the turtle ducks. They’re the whole reason we came here,” she said, stomping off.
“You don’t want to visit the hippo cow?” you said, pointing at the enormous beast that was allowing toddlers to clamber over it as it dozed with one eye open.
“I don’t even want to think about how things could go wrong if I go near that,” Ty Lee said. “Turtle ducks are nice and safe and little. As I said, let’s go there.”
These turtle ducks were kept in a pond which had no fence, allowing them to wander about as they pleased, swimming amongst the lilies blooming in the water and hiding in the bulrushes on the part of the bank further from the path.
Crouching, you broke off pieces of lettuce and threw them towards the turtle ducks. They paddled over and began to squabble amongst themselves, racing to snag the treats before their companions.
Ty Lee joined you, and for a little bit, the two of you were quiet, tossing lettuce at the turtle ducks and observing them eat. Only once all of your lettuce had run out did Ty Lee speak again.
“I thought turtle ducks ate bread,” she said.
“They do,” you said. “They love it a lot, which is why people give it to them. But it’s bad for them. Makes their stomachs upset.”
“Then why do they love it?” she said. “If it makes them sick, why do they keep eating it?”
“I don’t know,” you said. “It must taste very nice. Sometimes, it’s like that, I guess. You do things that you know are bad for you because you think that they are good.”
Ty Lee glanced at you out of the corner of her eye. “School knowledge or book knowledge?”
“Neither,” you said. “Past knowledge, I think.”
You couldn’t explain it, but then again, when had you ever been able to explain your past knowledge? Ty Lee exhaled but did not question you, which you were grateful for. You doubted you could’ve explained further, anyways.
“There you are!” Jia-Li hissed when you and Ty Lee walked into the dormitory building together. The light mood of the outing had faded after you had fed the turtle ducks, a pensive melancholy settling over you both in place of the earlier humor as the two of you considered your own respective thoughts.
“What’s wrong?” you said.
“Where have you guys been?” she said.
“We were at the zoo,” Ty Lee said.
“Didn’t I tell you before we left? Did something happen? Oh no, did the Strategy Mistress suddenly feel better and decide to hold class after all?” you said. “We have an exam coming up. If I missed a class, then I’m going to have to double down on my studying.”
“Those are words I never want to hear from your mouth again,” Ty Lee said. “How can you ‘double down’ on your studying when you already spend almost every waking moment doing exactly that? I mean, there’s only so many hours in a day, you know!”
“Never mind all of that!” Jia-Li said. “No, the Strategy Mistress is still sick, so you didn’t miss anything — at least, nothing academic.”
“Good,” you said. “I don’t mind missing anything else. Which I’m assuming we did, considering you look near to fainting, Jia-Li.”
“One of those idiots in the class below us has been spending the entire afternoon antagonizing Kaho! I’m afraid she’s going to blow up, and sooner rather than later,” Jia-Li explained.
“That sounds like something I’d like to be far away from,” you said. “We should’ve stayed at the zoo a bit longer, Ty Lee.”
“Mhm,” Ty Lee said emphatically. “I’d take dragon moose slobber any day!”
“I don’t think this girl realizes what she’s getting into,” Jia-Li said. “See, the thing is, whenever you’re around, Ursa, Kaho’s too busy hating you to get annoyed by anyone else. But since you were gone all afternoon, she’s had nowhere to channel her inner anger.”
You made a face. “So? Are you suggesting that I should’ve stayed around and let her be rude to me or something?”
“Not at all,” Jia-Li reassured you. “It’s more that she’s seemed downright gentle recently — or, I guess, gentler. That’s why that girl thinks she has a chance, but the truth is in terms of Firebending, Kaho is probably the most talented student in the entire academy at the present moment. And when you mix that talent together with an ill temper, it’s a bad combination.”
“Has she challenged her yet?” Ty Lee said.
“Not yet,” Jia-Li said.
“It’s only a matter of time,” Ty Lee said, sighing. “Ugh. This is all so ridiculous! We should all just get along.”
“Let’s just avoid them all for as long as we can and hope everything has smoothed over by the time we go down to eat dinner,” you said. “Ty Lee, you can stay in our room, as long as Jia-Li is okay with it.”
“Of course,” Jia-Li said. “I wouldn’t send you into the dragon’s maw like that.”
“I can handle her if it comes down to it,” Ty Lee said. “And I really need to shower — bad run in with a dragon moose’s tongue, Jia-Li, it’s a bit of a long story. But thanks for offering!”
“What can she do against someone like Kaho?” Jia-Li asked you. You shrugged.
“I have no idea, but she is one of Princess Azula’s closest friends, so she must know a thing or two,” you said.
“That’s true,” Jia-Li said. “Let’s stop talking about Kaho and her idiocy now, though. There’s no point in letting her spoil our time together. Did you have fun at the zoo?”
“I did!” you said. “It was nice to see all the animals, and we got to feed some of them at the petting zoo, which was nice. They were all very friendly.”
Jia-Li smiled fondly. “That’s good. I used to love going to the zoo as a kid. My brother and I used to visit together — his favorite exhibit was the flying dolphin fish, but I always liked going to see the koala sheep.”
“Were you and your brother close?” you said, feeling a pang in your stomach. You had no idea if you had a brother or a sister or any siblings at all. What if you did? Would they be missing you right now, or would they have moved on from you already? Would they resemble you, or would you look completely different? Would they have cared for you in your youth, or would you have cared for them in theirs?
“We used to be,” Jia-Li said. “When we were very young, that is. He was my best friend.”
“What happened?” you said.
“We grew up,” she said, undoing the ribbon tying her hair back and beginning to comb through her long locks. “I came here, and he went to the school for boys. Then I suppose we just learnt to have different interests. He preferred hanging out with his other boy friends, and so I was left to find my own entertainment.”
“That’s sad,” you said. She set down the comb and retied her hair.
“It is,” she said. “What I wouldn’t give to go to the zoo with him again, or some other such activity. Actually, I just wish we were children again…but we are grown now, aren’t we? It’s fine. That’s how life is.”
“Is he much older than us?” you said.
“Only by a couple of years,” she said before brightening. “You should come meet him!”
“Uh,” you said. “Where would we do that, exactly? And why?”
“Our next break is soon. My family has a house on Ember Island; you can come stay with us! Unless you have other plans already or something, of course,” she said.
“I don’t have any plans,” you said. “I probably would’ve ended up going to the palace again, but visiting this Ember Island place sounds a little more appealing, in truth. As long as you and your family are alright with it.”
“My family won’t care,” Jia-Li said, waving you off dismissively. “My father will probably be delighted to have the girl sponsored by the royal family staying in his home, and my mother will just be happy that I’m bringing a friend home. As for my brother…nobody cares about his opinion, anyways! If he wants to complain, then he can just run along and stay at his best friend’s house. They’re going to be on Ember Island then, too.”
“Then I would really love to do that,” you said. “Thank you for inviting me, Jia-Li.”
“Sure, you’re a great roommate, so it’s not an issue,” she said. “I was a little sad about having to leave you during break, but now I’m just excited! You’ll love Ember Island, I promise. It’s so beautiful there.”
“I’m excited, too,” you said. “Actually, I was a little scared about the break — I wasn’t sure if I had a place in the palace or not, and either way, there’s something a little intimidating about staying there. It’ll be much more fun to be with you the whole time, in a place that I can feel somewhat wanted.”
“Of course!” Jia-Li said, growing starry-eyed. “And I can take you to the ocean for the first time! Do you know how to swim? Wait, you probably wouldn’t know if you do or don’t. Well, if you don’t, I’ll teach you, and if you do, we can swim together! You can borrow my things, I think we’re probably close in size.”
“Alright,” you said, overwhelmed by the many plans she was already coming with. “I’ll leave all of that to you. Just tell me what to do, and I’ll do it.”
“You can count on me,” Jia-Li said, giving you a thumbs up. “I promise it’ll be the best break ever!”
Since Ty Lee had apparently gone to her room after showering, you and Jia-Li decided to make your way to dinner together in the hopes that you’d find her in the dining hall. Both of you were hungry by that point, though, and you unanimously agreed to just eat, even if she wasn’t there.
“I’m surprised,” you said when you walked in and found no traces of Ty Lee anywhere. “She’s normally so timely when it comes to dinner.”
“Yeah, but remember how long it takes her to wash and dry her hair? She probably won’t be down for a while,” Jia-Li reminded you.
“Right, I forgot about that,” you said. Ty Lee took a lot of pride in her personal appearance — rightfully so, of course, given how lovely she was — so her pre and post-shower routines were quite extensive, to say nothing of the actual shower itself. And especially because she had gotten covered in dragon moose saliva at the zoo, Jia-Li was correct to assume that Ty Lee might not be out for quite some time.
“Uh-oh,” Jia-Li said as you two sat down with your dinners. She nodded at the end of the table, where a girl you vaguely remembered being in the year below you was smirking at Kaho, whose jaw muscles were twitching with every word the girl spoke.
“Someone should stop her,” you said, though you made no move to get up, wanting to stay far away from the disaster zone that was about to emerge. Jia-Li hummed in assent, but she obviously had the same idea, remaining firmly put beside you. “It’s like she has a death wish.”
“She’s just trying to prove her superiority,” Jia-Li said. “There’s a clear hierarchy in this school, and right now, Kaho is at the top. She doesn’t like when people come for her spot, but of course, everyone wants to be there, to be number one, so they’re always trying to best her. It’s why she doesn’t like you — you’re beating her in terms of academics, which she hates, because she’s supposed to be the best. At least with you, though, you’re not a bender, so she can console herself with the fact that you’ll never be able to compete with her in any way that matters on that front. This girl, though, is challenging everything that Kaho is. She wants to be the most respected girl in the academy, but to do that, she needs to prove that Kaho isn’t worthy of that place any longer.”
“Can she do it?” you said.
“No,” Jia-Li said bluntly. “Plenty of people have tried. None of them have succeeded, except for Princess Azula, and she’s a special case in that she already was afforded a different status than the rest of us because of her bloodline.”
“Then she’s a fool,” you said.
“There’s more fools in this world than not,” Jia-Li said.
The girl continued to tease Kaho, who was obviously doing her level best to ignore her, not even affording her the dignity of looking at her. One could argue that it was maturity, but you understood it for what it really was: a way to demean her opponent, to prove that the other’s existence was meaningless to her, that she was so insignificant it was as if she truly did not exist in Kaho’s eyes.
“Honestly,” the girl said, voice lilting impishly, “I feel for you, Kaho. I mean, you used to be the top student, and then a girl with amnesia took your spot! It must’ve been embarrassing, losing to someone who doesn’t even have any memories. And to make matters worse, the prince really does seem to favor that girl, and we all know what he thinks of you…”
“What is she talking about?” you whispered under your breath to Jia-Li. “Why is she bringing me into this? What does Prince Zuko have to do with anything?”
“You’d do well to shut up now,” Kaho said, though it was the wrong thing to do, for her reaction was proof that the girl had struck a nerve.
“It’s like I told you,” Jia-Li whispered back. “Kaho is used to being at the top. When we were younger, before everything with the, ah, banishment, she tried very desperately to befriend the royal family. She was never able to endear herself to Princess Azula, but her sights were always on the prince, anyways, so that mattered little to her. It was marriage she sought; the prospect of being Fire Lady was too appealing.”
“I’m assuming she was unsuccessful,” you said. Jia-Li nodded.
“Extremely. It wasn’t even her fault, really; Prince Zuko was always kind, but unattainable for all of us. He had no interest in dallying with girls that went to school with his sister, so Kaho was never able to gain his approval in the way she wanted. Perhaps it might’ve been different if he hadn’t been…you know. They might have grown closer as they grew older simply due to her sheer persistence, but we’ll never know,” she said.
“For being the supposed best of us, you’re not the best at a lot of things,” the girl said. “I mean, I bet you’re not even that good at Firebending!”
Kaho slammed her fist on the table, standing to face the girl and glaring at her.
“Is that the game you want to play?” she said. “Fine. I’ll go along with it. I challenge you to an Agni Kai!”
“I’m assuming that’s not a good outcome,” you said.
“Nope,” Jia-Li said grimly. “Let’s just say that things have gone from bad to worse. Come on.”
“We’re going to watch?” you said.
“It’s all but mandated. I don’t like it, either, but we kind of have to,” Jia-Li said. “Hopefully, it’s over soon. Sometimes, Kaho can be inventive.”
You and Jia-Li stood in the very back of the crowd, though your view was still perfectly unobstructed. You almost wished there was something blocking your vision, though, something in between you and what was surely going to turn out to be a grotesque sight, one way or another.
“Want some?” the girl in front of you said, turning around and proffering a bag of candy to you and Jia-Li.
“No, thank you,” you said, for you were already queasy and knew that sweets would only worsen the effect.
“I’m okay,” Jia-Li said.
“I’m betting on Kaho,” the girl said, grabbing a handful of candy and dropping it all in her mouth. “Wanna join the pool? One of my friends is running it.”
“Like a betting pool?” you said.
“Yup! It’s how I could afford to buy this candy — I won last time,” the girl explained.
“No way,” you said.
“We’re good,” Jia-Li said when the girl looked offended at your short response.
“I can’t believe they’re betting on something like this!” you said.
“It’s common, believe it or not,” Jia-Li said.
“I believe it, sadly, but I wish I didn’t,” you said. “It’s so heartless.”
“That’s just how things are here,” Jia-Li said. You pursed your lips as the fight between the girl and Kaho began, deciding to keep silent, because your words would be wasted when your argument was not even with Jia-Li in the first place.
Even though the girl was no slouch in terms of Firebending, the fight was over almost as soon as it started. Kaho’s power was too much for her opponent, and she seemed bored as she coated her palm in fire and slapped it against the girl’s bicep.
“I got the first burn,” she said, miming a yawn. “So I guess that means I win. Why are you crying like that? Honestly. Just shut up. Why’d you agree to fight me if you couldn’t accept defeat like an adult?”
The skin on the girl’s arm was red and angry, already beginning to blister, but you could tell even without an explanation from Jia-Li that Kaho had been merciful. She could’ve done worse, but she had chosen to let that girl off with a warning. A reminder to never be so daring again.
There was something odd about it all, though. Despite the fact that her opponent was standing across from her, you noticed that it was not the burnt, sobbing girl that Kaho was scowling at so darkly.
It was you.
Ursa,
I’m glad you were able to make it to the zoo. I know you mentioned wanting to go a while back, so it makes me happy to know that that desire of yours was fulfilled. I wish I could’ve been there. Did you get to feed the turtle ducks? I remember doing that when I went, though of course I only visited once, with my mother, and that was a long time ago, so maybe things have changed and they don’t let people do that anymore.
I wish you hadn’t had to see an Agni Kai. They are definitely a darker part of Fire Nation culture. But, then again, for a nation that values honor so greatly, they are just a natural consequence. I hope you haven’t been frightened too terribly. Mai says that Kaho isn’t always so generous with her opponents, so there’s something to be grateful for: at least it was only a small burn. You’re entirely right — it could’ve been worse.
You shouldn’t worry about taking up space at the palace. It would be my our pleasure to host you once again. But Ember Island is a nice place. You will have fun there, I’m sure. The ocean is very, very beautiful. It’s the bluest thing you’ll ever see, and it goes on for what seems to be forever. The Fire Nation is lucky in that our ocean is warm, and the tides are not so vicious — nothing like the poles, where it is so treacherous and cold.
It is nice to know that you are enjoying yourself so thoroughly. That is what I am really concerned with; it matters little to me if you ever become a proper Fire Nation lady or anything along those lines. I would even prefer it if you didn’t. It’s more important that you are happy.
Yours, Zuko
P.S. Perhaps I am not surprised, but I am still disappointed on your behalf.

Standing in front of your mate's room should be happy and exciting, not anxious and scary.
I finally built up enough courage to come to River House and meet Azriel. See how he's doing and figure out if he deserves another chance. When I told my friends about this, they told me I should do this only if I feel ready to do so, not because I'm felling sympathetic over Azriel.
They're right. And I'm doing this because I'm ready.
I remind myself that when I raise my hand and knock on the door. Cassian told me which room he was staying in, he didn't need to though, I could guess which room it was judging from the fact that it's in the end of the hallway and is covered in darkness when it's still day outside.
Maybe I should've given him a warning before coming and burging in so suddenly... Oh well.
I knock again when the door doesn't open and wait for another five minutes. I frown and step closer to that door. "Azriel? It's me." I hesitantly speak and go to knock again but the door abrutly opens and I flinch back.
There he stands.
The most beautiful male I've ever seen. With bright hazel and wide wings on his back. He's shirtless, standing just in his pants.
Breathing heavy he takes me in, observing me just as I do him. I see exactly what Mor was talking about. His face looks sucked in and body more lean, covered in shadows just as I thought.
But he's still the most amazing male I've ever seen.
I smile softly. "May I come in?"
His eyes widen as though he doesn't believe what I'm saying. I don't too.
I chuckle. "I just wish to talk."
"I-uh. Yes. Of course." He clears his throat and opens the door wider for me come in. He hurriedly tries to fix the room a little, picking up cloths or dishes that were on the floor and quicky takes out a shirt to wear it while I close the door behind us. I stand in the middle of the room and he comes in front of me when he deems himself more presentable.
The room seems a little brighter. He clears his throat again while we stand in front of each other. The awkwardness is clear to the both of us as we wait for the other to speak. He decides to go first.
"You look beautiful." He speaks softly and my heart instanty melts. I mumble a small thanks and stand a little straighter, ready to say what I came here to say. I look into his eyes with a firm expression.
"I've been thinking. This month has been, well, different to say the least. It's taught me that if I have to, I can perfectly live happily with myself. I don't need you to go on with my life." His face falls but he nods. "But I want you." His eyes snap to mine.
"I won't lie. I love you, Azriel. But I will not take you back unless you make it up to me. You broke my heart. You broke my trust. And now, as foolish as I am," I shake my head."I'm giving you another chance. One Last Chance. If you mess up again, that will be it. I will leave and I will never come back. Doesn't matter how much our hearts and sauls ach. Understand?" He nods.
"Words, Azriel."
"Yes! Yes. Of course. I promise you I will never do anything like this again." He looks at me with hopeful eyes.
"Alright. Now rules, first you don't get me back. You have to win me back. Court me, properly. And I will think about it evertime you do something meaningful." He spills out an of course.
"Second, no talking to Elain. I mean, you can talk but you have to make time for me too." I frown.
"You don't have to worry about that. I've already pushed Elain out of my life. The second I came here and she asked of me, I firmly told her that I will never speak to her again. She cried but I don't care. I kicked her out of this room and slamed the door at her face. You're more important." He breaths.
"Third, final rule, this is not a one week thing Azriel. You have to understand that you will have to make up for a long time. I had suffered for an entire year, you have a year to make up to."
"I promise you, my love. I will make up to you. I will win your back. And this time, I won't let you go."
