this has been sitting since February. Anon thank you for this. Have a draft of the line of events in my apocalypse au. It has no name as of right now

*clears throat*

Jimmy, Joel and Grian share an apartment when a quarantine is called over the city and all nearby areas due to an unknown disease cropping up. Possible slice of life with the three going to a half looted store and running around being silly as a coping mechanism. This disease surfaces and the the quarantine is called around early January.

A public emergency is declared a few weeks into the two months they spend inside, where the news and other public infrastructure slowly degrades. The trio start running out of food, and the final straw to make them leave their apartment and take to the streets (despite the disease) is their water breaking. Sometime among this period is when the apocalypse starts, although it doesn't look like that for a while. Also about halfway through this time period Jimmy runs out of anxiety meds.

After leaving the apartment, they met a few other groups (mean gills, nosy neighbors) (I forgot to mention this was limited life inspired. Lmao) while hanging around the river front. They purchase a ham radio set (because the majority of people still living have set up a bit of infrastructure near the water source) and hang around for a week and a half, getting gear and socializjn with people other than themselves until they have their first true run in with the infected. A massive horde of zombies sweep into this safe area, and a large amount of people die. The bad boys barely escape with their lives

Its around this point where their focuses start developing. Grian traded some of the stuff from their old apartment for multiple guns (pistols and a hunting rifle) along with ammo, and he finds a bow and some arrows from the wreckage of the safe zone afterwards, practicing with then and having a naturally affinity for ranged weapons. Joel is the brute strength of the group, and relies on said strength, using a baseball bat as his main weapon. He also carries the majority of the heavy gear- water, canned food, cooking equipment, although they make sure everyone has a bit of everything just in case. Jimmy is quick, light, and good at climbing and excels at scouting and other similar things. His main weapon is a machete that allows him to still keep a bit of range from zombies. He also is the best of all of them (for some reason) in bandaging and cleaning wounds- he's not good when there's actively bleeding out, but after the wound stops, he's basically a perfect field medic.

The trio wander around the city for a while before deciding to head towards a large park. All the while, they run into groups of zombies, some they even recognize as people they met in the waterfront safe zone. Not that much stops them, though, except Grian injuring one of his legs right before they make it to the park.

Once they are inside the park, they come across a much smaller group of people holding out- headed by the Family. Ties are also part of this small group. They take in the bad boys, no questions asked, and offer them extra food- including fresh meat. The bad boys only spend around two weeks there, though, because Joel is kidnapped by Tango and tied up. Tango only doesn't kill him because Cleo comes in and exclaims that they "actually liked this group", and while they are arguing, Joel learns that all the meat they have had is actually human meat! Anyway, the other bad boys notice he's missing, and start searching the camp+ The nearby woods area for him. Tango and Cleo decide to move Joel to a harder to access place to kill and butcher him. They (stupidly) un-tie his legs form where they were tied to the legs of the chair, and he kicks them away and escapes. Upon getting out, he finds Jim and Grian (who already had all there stuff+some of Joel's in preparation to start a larger search) and tells them what happened. Grian goes back into camp, acts like everything is normal, and gets Joel's bag, before escaping because. Yknow. Cleo sees and goes "Hey I don't care if you say you haven't seen Joel, you might suspect and I am not letting these people go hungry".

They move back towards the city center (because that is the one place the Family wont go), only taking one break at the outskirts of the park, where Jimmy remembers that he has some dried meat he took from the Family's camp site. They end up burying it, partially because that's the safest option to do with what is most likely human body parts, but also because they need to deal with the guilt of being cannibals somehow. Also it's highly implied that, during the winter, Skizz decided to sacrifice himself to feed the group and Impulse went almost mad with grief.

Once reaching Downtown again, staying away from their old apartment and the waterfront, they wander and take shelter in abandoned store fronts at night. After maybe three weeks of this (they are still very paranoid about the Family finding them), they find this massive water drain (think the one from Terminator 2 but much steeper and skinnier) and Grian decides to go down into it because he thinks he sees an old campsite under an overpass. Typically thats Jimmy's job but Grian decides he should be on top of this pile of debris nearby to look out for zombie swarms, and gives Jim one of his pistols to take out any that are approaching.

Anyway. Grian goes down, pokes around and doesn't find anything of use, until a small tube (where water will dump in from storm sewers) towards the head of the big drain starts echoing weird noises out of it. He goes near and a bunch of zombies burst out, attacking him and preventing him from getting any of his weapons. Joel yells for Jimmy, who runs over, but there's no saving G and he's just screaming for someone to end this because he's getting eaten alive. It takes Jimmy a minute but he manages to shot and successfully kill Grian with his gun. After this, Joel drags Jimmy away. This is meant to be early July.

They hide in an abandoned office lobby for about four days. On the second day, they have to eat some food from a can that's past its expiration date, and Jimmy later throws up (the food wasn't bad, Jimmy just has horrible anxiety and fears of rotten, moldy, or otherwise bad food, and only ate in the first place because he feels a large amount of guilt for killing Grian and felt like he deserved it). The next morning, Joel returns to the site of Grian's death and retrieves his bag, weapons, and general equipment. Jim and Joel spend one more day in their hidy hole before heading out again.

They wander for maybe two weeks (possibly running into Martyn again, highly likely he's with Ren now) until Jimmy gets sick. Not sick with the whatever made the zombies zombies, just some general flu/cold type thing. Joel gets overprotective and breaks out the masks and stuff they still carry from when they thought the infection was something else. They decide that this is a good chance to get their radio set up and try to listen for any updates, and about five days pass until something happens.

Joel is outside when the broadcast happens, but he hears Jimmy scream- he runs back in, and finds Jimmy so panicked he is unable to speak, and attempting to turn off the radio only makes it worse. So, Joel waits- and eventually they pick up a signal again. A news broadcast, confirming the announcement from the government that they are going to drop a nuke on the city in order to halt the infection, in 17 days time, at sunset.

They take a couple more days to get Jimmy properly recovered, and then begin to work their way out of the city. However, their are more zombies then ever, and by the time the final day rolls around, they have only made it to where their old apartment building was. So, they decide to go up, and hang out on the roof until sunset.

(This is where it gets gay)

they're both crying, and tell each other how much they mean to them, and then kiss. Wahoo. It's very emotional don't worry. Anyway they stand on the edge of the building as the sun starts setting, and Joel confesses that's he scared of dying like this. And then they decide to jump.

... there's a lot of build up please believe me when I say this I just don't wanna write a novel here.

anyway yeah. The bomb drops, but they're both dead already. The end of this story is around late September.

All of the dates I gave here are rough estimates! There's definitely time periods that are not going to be written in full detail, and I need to get better at spacing things out, but this works and it's fine. Anyway I'm very glad I got this written out because!!!! I have a basis now!!!!!

I like to think they sleep in three pushed together beds and it always starts out normal, with everyone on their own side and as the night progresses Grian finds the person next to him to cling to and Jimmy rolls around and spreads out, often on top of the person next to him

Day #12: Height, but they are both really short

I need to talk about this because it’s driving me crazy. So they added a thing to the Endermen in the Minecraft Movie, in that if you look them in the eyes, not only do they attack you, but you also hallucinate like, the people close to you projecting your insecurities, which made me vibrate in my seat from excitement cause oh my god. The implications from that, that Jimmy’s Double Life death wasn’t just that he panicked with the enderman, but that he was overwhelmed disoriented by people like Grian, Joel, Martyn, abs most importantly Tango, calling him weak, a failure, pathetic, but no longer in that funny joking way, but with actual cruelty, malice, and disgust in their words. That the last thing Jimmy saw before he died could have been Tango blaming him for their death. My poor boy

Also one of my friends, @pancho-pinto, added the idea of since damage is transferred through the soulbound, so would the effects, and so Tango would either experience his own hallucinations of Impulse, Zed, Skizz, probably Jimmy, thinking that it’s real and they’re actually saying those things, that those are opinions they have of him, right before unexplainably dying, and also not knowing that it even was Enderman hallucinations because Jimmy was on a different server, and he was holed up creating Decked Out during that time, avoiding the friends he saw in those visions and wouldn’t find out until probably the crossover,

-OR, Jimmy’s hallucinations would transfer to him, and he’d see his soulmate’s insecurities on blast from his friends, from him, and be unable to help him, and wake up on Hermitcraft after dying with the knowledge that not only did Jimmy die alone, he died thinking that Tango would hate him

So like yeah, pick your poison :)
