-He’s always trying to make you smile and laugh! Lots of inside jokes

-Mario kart tournaments with this guy. He’s the king at any video game, so sorry for your loss. He’s beating you no matter what you try, but if he wants you to smile or feels bad he’ll let you win

-has scars from his quirk. They look like lightning strikes and line up his arms and some on his torso (this isn’t canon I just think it’s good for the character)

-a bit of a perv. Ex: caught staring at you multiple times. LOTS of suggestive comments. “Jokingly” has tried to look up your skirt. Buys you revealing clothes. Encourages you to wear said revealing clothes. Still your number 1 cheerleader tho and we love him •_•

-only he is allowed to be a perv around you. As soon as mineta makes a comment/acts he’ll glare at him. “She’s mine. Go bug Momo”

-When he overuses his quirk/short circuits, he relies completely on instinct. Somehow his instincts always lead him to you. It’s kinda cute

-gets bullied for his quirk. You will literally beat up anyone who does that tho

-such a bubbly personality. He’s such a sweetheart though

-*finger guns*

-has a pikachu plushie and/or onesie

-will charge your phone for you. It hurts him if he does it too much, but on the occasions when he’s fully charged himself, he’s doing it for you

-keep an portable charger with you! This guy forgets his all the time

-super friendly to everyone. Definition of extrovert. He’s always trying to take you out to do things. Once you went to the aquarium with him and he tried to stick his hand in the octopus tank

-sends you memes at 4 am titled “this is literally us”

-MANLY

-you aren’t allowed to carry anything remotely heavy around him. “Don’t worry sweetheart, I got that for you”

-pays for everything. You simply cannot offer to pay without him faking offence

-toxic masculinity? Who’s that?

-husky morning voice 🙏

-lets you watch him workout. If you what to join he’ll gladly help you use the equipment if you’re new to the gym, or simply be your spotter. If you don’t want to join him, he’s definitely showing off with the weights.

-classic romantic dates. Restaurants, and picnics are his specialty (definitely some gym dates mixed in there)

-always shirtless. He just wants to show off. It’s not like you’re complaining though….

-he’s really insecure about his quirk, and doesn’t think he’s good enough. Just remind him that you love him. Give him loads of attention and affection when he has his panic episodes.

-lets you dye/style his hair. His favourite positions is you sitting in the counter redoing his roots, while he’s in a chair in front of you. He doesn’t even need entertainment, he’s just enjoying the feeling of your gloved hands in his hair.

-loves when you wear his shirts. Especially his Red Riot merch ($-$)

-manly hands 🫡

-He personally doesn’t care much about PDA, he’ll do anything as long as you’re comfortable

-cannot cook for the life of him. Last time he was in the kitchen he caught his toast on fire

-He is SO sleep deprived. You can tell by the bags under his eyes. Definitely has insomnia or something

-cat cafe dates with him. (I’m seriously thinking of writing a whole damn fanfic of this, just need motivation) he just loves cats sm, and he loves you, so this is the perfect plan according to him.

-needs his coffee in the morning. Can’t function without it. Also has his coffe without any cream or milk (like a psycho)

-Texts you really late at night for no reason. Even if he knows you’re asleep he’ll still do it cuz he’s bored

-messy hair 24/7

-late night walks with him. You guys don’t even have to talk, he’ll just walk with you beside him (he’ll hold your hand if he’s in the mood) and you’ll walk under the moonlight. Also loves to point out constellations to you

-once he grabbed something that you couldn’t reach for you, and you called him “your hero”. He’s never stopped thinking about it since

-usually does his training outside, late at night

-not a headcanon, but I’d just like to say, him in his mask 🛐

-has tired/dead eyes all the time. And looks hot in them too

-wears Jean jackets, hoodies, sweats, those weird fancy cotton shorts. And lets you steal all of them <3

-the type of boyfriend that gets jealous easily. Someone could look at you the wrong way and all of the sudden you guys “forgot to vacuum” and you’re getting swept off your feet and carried to his dorm for some cuddles

-asks for help studying. He does fine academically, he jus wants to spend time with you

✲ Being Coriolanus’ wife meant meeting a lot of people very quickly, including none other than Martin Luther King Jr. He and the Kennedys have worked closely together during Jack’s presidency, and since Coriolanus was leading the polls, the man decided it was time to meet the striking blonde politician to discuss some things.

✲ You and MLK Jr.’s wife, Coretta, chat at the dinner the Kings had set up while the two men wander off to talk privately. She asks you if you have thought about having children as of yet, and you sigh with a knowing smile, “We’ve been thinking about it.”

✲ It’s been a thing for the media and just about everyone to ask when you and Coriolanus were having kids. You felt pressure, but Coriolanus assured you that you could wait until you were ready.

✲ The day after your dinner with the Kings, the names of the women who are the face of the Women’s Revolution are splattered across news outlets everywhere due to their march in Washington. Katniss Everdeen and Lucy Gray Baird Lead America’s Women!

✲ Coriolanus is bombarded with questions everywhere he’s seen. But he says to wait until the debate for any further comments about the matter. You worry about the escalation of the movement but decide to keep to yourself about it. Even though you’re nearly finished with your higher education, you’re still a woman, so your opinion doesn’t matter much politically at the moment.

✲ The debate comes and goes, with Coriolanus still leading the polls. It seems this election is secured for him so far. However, some of the major events happening right now are bothering him, so he decides to pay Jack a visit in the White House, you tagging along, of course. Coriolanus asks him how he managed to make decisions during the Bay of Pigs invasion and during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

✲ “There are going to be difficult times, Coriolanus. But don’t let it scare you. In fact, let it inspire you to work harder to make a change.”

✲ Coriolanus is more sure of himself after that. November comes around, and to no one’s surprise, Coriolanus wins the 1964 Election by a large margin, with Sejanus Plinth as his Vice President.

✲ The first year is hard, but it is for every president. You eventually finish your research on Jack and present your work, earning your hard-earned diploma. You are now a doctor in political science. Everyone is extremely proud, including your fellow Americans. They beg the question of what you’re to do with your accomplishments if women don’t have the same opportunities as men. To which you answer, “We shall figure that out soon.” You are certain Coriolanus will go through with his promises.

✲ 1966 comes around the corner almost menacingly. Tensions are high- riots break out in the streets over economic trouble, and women are growing tired of the poor treatment of their employers. Bobby and MLK Jr. seem to fuel the fire when they speak out against the violence in the streets, saying there’s a better way to get the point across.

✲ Jack falls ill and ends up in the hospital in late February. Coriolanus puts meetings and speeches on hold, clearing the entire week out of duties to visit Jack. You are by his side as he watches his best friend suffer. The family comes back together to take care of Jack. You try your best to console Jackie as she’s beside herself with worry.

✲ “I don’t think he’s going to pull out of this one, darling,” Jackie frowns, “He isn’t young and isn’t able to bounce back like he used to. I’m afraid this is it.” You assure Jackie her husband will be fine, but you aren’t so sure. The pneumonia doesn’t seem to be resolving itself.

✲ A week after Jack is admitted to the hospital, he dies. Coriolanus and Bobby are on one side of his bed, Jackie and the kids on the other as Jack takes his last breath. You hold yourself together as long as possible until you and Coriolanus eventually return to the White House. When you settle in your room for privacy, you lose it. You burst into tears as you picked up and tossed anything readily available next to you across the room.

✲ Coriolanus pulls you into his arms, trying to calm you to the best of his ability. Both of you cry together over losing a friend. A friend who happened to bring the two of you together in life and love.

✲ More tragedy strikes the family. Bobby holds a convention to speak out in favor of women’s rights, but only under one condition- that the rioting stops. This angers many, causing a fight to break out and eventually, shots are fired. One was aimed directly at Bobby’s head. He doesn’t survive.

✲ You knew Bobby’s wife, Ethel, very well, and you and Jackie are there for her in her time of need. The Kennedy family is in shambles at this point. Everyone seems to think that the women from the movement are responsible for assassinating Bobby, but no one has proof. It isn’t until August that someone is held responsible.

✲ Martin Luther King Jr. Shot in Memphis is across every headline around the world. Yet another significant figure is brought down. Yet another friend is murdered. Yet another wife is to be consoled by other women who have been in her shoes, losing a husband suddenly. You aren’t sure what to think anymore.

✲ The radical members of the Women’s Revolution refuse to take sole responsibility for the assassinations, but some are arrested for conspiracy anyway. Many suspect Katniss Everdeen or Lucy Gray Baird as the masterminds of the plots.

✲ With the darkness of the world growing as each day passes, you don’t realize you’ve missed your period. When you do, you figure it’s from the stress of losing dear friends. But Coriolanus urges you to go to the doctor anyway.

✲ In December 1966, you find out you are pregnant. You decide, no matter the gender, their name is to be Kennedy, after your dear friends you’ve lost.

✲ The First Lady being pregnant is a beacon of hope for the nation in its darkest hour. Everyone waits patiently for you to start showing and to find out what gender the baby is.

✲ Coriolanus decides to be bold and requests to do a motorcade through D.C. to lift the spirits of the people. The Secret Service is weary but obliged to Coriolanus’ wishes.

✲ When in the motorcade, you clutch Coriolanus’ hand nervously. “Go on, sweetheart,” Coriolanus mumbles in your ear, “Wave to the people. They love it, they love you.” You stare at your husband for a moment in absolute awe as he basks in the glow of attention from the crowd. He effortlessly smiles, his eyes twinkling in unbridled pride- a rare emotion you see from him. Sure, he has his moments of pride, but not like this. The last time he looked this happy was the day he married you.

✲ It’s been hard for Coriolanus, you’ve noticed. Juggling the presidency while losing those close to him. But you think today has helped more than you possibly could have, especially since you’ve been grieving, too.

This may be proven wrong next chapter, but as of now, I don’t think Ness will react like Reo post-breakup. I just don’t think Kaneshiro would use the same formula again.

Remember this scene?

Though seething with rage, Ness didn’t confront Kaiser nor did he vent it out on Isagi. Just business as normal the next day.

And KaiNess breakup isn’t like NagiReo breakup.

With NagiReo, Nagi had explicitly told Reo that he wanted to play with Isagi, causing Reo to think that Nagi’s abandoned him for someone else. This allowed Reo the “comfort” of having someone to blame for their relationship breaking down.

But with KaiNess, Kaiser didn’t say he’s teaming up with someone else. He thanked Ness, then explicitly told him that he doesn’t need him anymore. The “problem,” then, isn’t with anyone else but with Ness himself.

Moreover, how I understand Ness’ character is that he tends to shoulder the blame himself and never puts it on others, and especially not on Kaiser.

Kaiser is partly at fault for this. In their years together, Ness at one point must’ve come to the conclusion that as long as he changes the way he acts (e.g. pleasing Kaiser), Kaiser would treat him a little better. And it has! But it wasn’t because of Ness’ actions, per se. It was simply Kaiser granting him some mere decency whenever he felt like it.

So when something goes wrong… Ness’ first instinct is not to blame Kaiser, but to blame himself. Like this scene:

Ness didn’t even stop to consider that maybe it was Kaiser who was lacking here and instead immediately asked himself if it was his pass that was was wrong. It wasn’t.

Ness’ pass was fine. It was Kaiser who chose not to receive it because he knows he can’t shoot Magnus with a moving ball yet.

So post-breakup, I think Ness will continue to blame himself, pinpointing his “failed” pass as the root cause of Kaiser abandoning him.

How Ness reacts with such understanding, though, I have no idea.

But whatever it is, I hope he doesn’t find his answer in Isagi.

Because that won’t be development for him. That’s just going from one owner to the next.

He and Isagi aren’t even friends. Isagi using Ness won’t be because he values Ness as a person. He’d just treat him as a necessary tool for his own goal. And how is that any different from how Kaiser has treated Ness?

Although I’ve been rooting for PxG to win… I kinda really wanna see Ness score the winning goal this match. It’s unlikely, and majority of the fandom will probably riot if that happens but… Ness deserves his winning moment too.

Isagi, Kaiser, Shidou already have their moments, and Rin is about to have his next. Kiyora had his time to shine, and even Kunigami got a little action against Shidou… All the other key characters (Hiori, Charles, and Nanase) had their spotlights as well.

Only Ness has been left behind.

And once again I hope that Kaneshiro won’t forsake him.

After sd!Macaque accepts the fact that sd!Wukong doesn’t want to have kids with him (a lie, but these two idiots have terrible communication skills) he decides that he still wants to be a mother to someone.

(he had hoped to be a mother figure to MK since the two started to grow closer, but the recent reveal of who MK’s mother is made that idea too painful for now)

In comes sd!Bai He who sd!Macaque adopts through a soul contract (a powerful spell that alters her Chi to give her access to his powers), which of course causes a scene in the celestial realm, but no one (including sd!Wukong) dares to question it.

This gives sd!Peng another opening, they figure if they can grow closer to sd!Bai He they can convince her to form a second soul contract with them, which will further alter her Chi, transforming her from a human into essentially sd!Peng and sd!Macaque’s child.

Which in their mind will prove to sd!Macaque that they’re the perfect mate for him.

MK catches wind of this plan, and after witnessing one Bai He be taken advantage of by a heartless demon he refuses to let another suffer the same fate.

So he tries to convince Wukong that in order to regain sd!Macaque’s favor and forgiveness (even though they both know sd!Wukong did nothing wrong (this time)) he has to grow closer to sd!Bai He and offer to form a second soul contact with her (officially making her the princess of the three realms).

sd!Wukong is hesitant because he assumes sd!Macaque doesn’t want him anywhere near his daughter, so MK decides to let his inner Macaque out, and tells sd!Wukong that he’s probably right and either way sd!Macaque has plenty of help to take care of her from the brotherhood (emphasis on sd!Peng), which floors sd!Wukong into action.

(I imagine Bai He’s celestial primate form would look similar to your oc Xiaodan (including the sunset colored six ears), but with amethyst eyes and a pink version of Macaque’s face mask)

That's v interesting to think about!! Although sd!Bai he in the story already has parents and is technically just a ward/servant to sd!Macaque so if the empress ever made a soul contract with a human no less that will cause an uproar which will question his legitimacy as a ruler of demons cuz why is the empress favoring a human child of all beings

Tho I do see sd!Peng trying to get close to sd!Bai he as a way to get closer to the empress and win him over but sd!Bai he doesn't trust sd!Peng at all.

sd!Wukong on the other hand would definitely try to get along with sd!Bai he but to form a contract with her will once again cause a riot in all the three realms so the most he can do is be nice to the kiddo

Back when I read more fanfics, I honestly never cared much for post-canon royai with Roy being president. It’s not inherently always bad. I can be convinced there are good scenarios. Or I just don’t care because it’s more about OTP making out anyway. But I just never liked Roy being the president, him being elected to that position and the general public always loving him. All the while he does Good™ (read modern (American) politics the author likes). While Riza gets to play (USA style) First Lady™ and/or the (house)wife that smiles pretty and waves.....

I just don’t think it fits or would happen like that.

Roy wants to become fuhrer, aka military dictator. He is not going to be elected. If he does not choose violent takeover, then the only people he needs to impress are (fellow) generals and get them to all agree Mustang is the best dictator for the role. The general population not rioting in the streets when Roy is dictator is a bonus, but the people of Amestris have no voting rights.

But also, why is it the assumption that Mustang would be very populair? The general public is oppressed, has no free media, no fair laws, like shown in the Maria Ross arc. Even someone born in the warzones, like Ed and Al, have been completely ignorant on what actually happend. The general population has no idea that Amestris is the constant aggressor. They believe they are the victim under attack from the outside. And the people living away from the borders, the upper class, and the people who don’t rock the boat (aka everyone beside the protags) seem to have pretty normal lives in their ignorant bliss. They do not know any different because different perspectives are not accessible. Bradley was actually popular and well liked for a reason. So Mustang changing the whole current military gouvernement structure and power balances isn’t gonna instantly win fans there lol.

Actually Mustangs main goal as military dictator as stated by Hawkeye are

Give political power back to the parlement and have them do elections (again).

Demilitarise the public institutions, including removing the state alchemist program.

Reform military law to make war crimes, well, crimes. And then also apply those laws retroactively, including on themselves.

Of course there is other things Mustang can care about. Like not having constant wars with all the surrounding countries and national security. But if the parlement is back in power, why would Roy, as the military dictator/commander in chief, become the elected president when his whole life goal was to separate those institutions in the first place? Just makes no sense to me.

It’s then the actual prime minister/presidents job to worry about the local hospital or factory worker rights or pension or whatever. Roy can focus on idk.. Creta inventing air plane bombers or whatever.

And Riza doesn’t have to smile pretty and wave and do charity speeches or be The (house)wife™ simply because she is the woman and thats the stereotypical woman’s first lady role. I don’t think she would enjoy being a public figure smiling and waving anyway. She can stay a bodyguard, if she wants to. Or decide that Roy reached his goal and retire with her 12 dogs on a farm out East, lmfao.

Why was it always in the dead of night that these meets happened?

It was a question that had so many answers, each more probable than the last; was it so the neon lights of the main drag would bounce off the sleek frames of the cars that lined either side of the road? Is it the fact that night provided that sense of invincibility to those that dare to pull up to the stark white line; marking the start of the battle of just who’s wallet will be thicker with bills, or keys, at the end?

You had no idea. It seemed as though the gravitational pull of the glory from winning called to more people than you thought possible, including yourself. Strutting down the centre of the road, you could finally understand just why so many were pulled into this world that ran the streets by night fall - it was powerful.

The sound of your boots hitting the bitumen of the road was drowned out by the roar of the revving engines and the booming bass from speakers that echoed out of the trunks from some of the more impressive rides that lined the street.

“Well, hello there, sugar,” a voice purred from behind your shoulder, the tone only making you grin. Only one person could get away with that. “How you doin’?”

“Hi, Bucky.” You greeted, grinning at him when he slung an arm over your shoulder. “I thought you’d be in your corner with the guys, isn’t the first heat about to start?”

Bucky smirked and moved to kiss your temple, the proximity taking you by surprise. “I can’t start nothin’ if I don’t have my good luck charm.”

The giggle escaped from you before you could stop it, and you leant a little bit closer into his side, the distinct smell of Bucky immediately bringing a sense of calmness to your already fraying nerves.

To any onlooker – not that their eyes lingered long when you were under his arm – it would seem as though you were together, a couple. However, thanks to a crippling shyness and inability to voice what you so desperately wanted, it hadn’t evolved past not-so-subtle flirting and gentle touches. To say you were smitten was an understatement.

Bucky had the patience of a saint, you presumed.

Spoiler alert; he didn’t.

The two of you made your way down the street, stopping only once for you to admire a Porsche much to Bucky’s disdain.

“Isn’t it gorgeous?” You breathed, the sleek frame and subtle colouring giving a sense of simplicity that hid the monster of the engine underneath. A wolf in sheep’s clothing.

“I thought you only had eyes for me,” Bucky pouted as he glared at the offending car, the childish gleam in his eyes only spurring you on. “C’mon, my baby needs my good luck charm, you know this.”

You laughed as Bucky tugged on your arm gently. His baby was the Skyline that had stolen your breath in a gasp as you watched it drift around a corner during your first race meet, just before you had met Nat. A kaleidoscope of feelings had bloomed in your stomach as you watched the Skyline tear its way towards the finish line, and then seeing him emerge from the cabin only to be immediately embraced by Steve as they shouted their victory, did you finally know and realise that you were screwed.

“But, Buck,” you protested with a sly grin, and the way he glared at you because he knew what you were going to say was dangerous, intoxicating. “She’s so pretty.”

Bucky narrowed his eyes and opened his mouth to speak, only to be interrupted by another voice.

“Who’s pretty?”

A flash of pure anger flickered through Bucky’s eyes and his posture stiffened, and you didn’t miss the way he pulled you towards him possessively. You didn’t fight it. This was not the time to play around – not when Bucky reacted like that.

“The pretty sight of my boot up your ass is hard to beat, Hugh,” Bucky growled, the low timbre of his voice not only startling you, but it took Hugh by surprise as well – if his widened eyes were anything to go by.

Then, Hugh’s face split into a cheshire grin as he stared between the two of you, and you were glad Bucky was there.

“You know, James, I didn’t take you as such a sensitive prick. You’ve grown soft,” Hugh sneered, the predatory glint in his eyes as he looked from his car back to you. “A bit of pussy turned you into a whipped son of a bitch.”

Bucky’s arm had moved from your shoulders, and before you had realised what was happening, you gripped the cold metal of his prothesis in your hands and pulled back, desperate to stop him from ripping Hugh limb from limb. “Bucky, stop!”

It all happened so quickly it left you reeling. Bucky’s arm slipped from your grip and the sound of bone crunching made you wince sharply.

The scuffle of shoes and a yelp of pain later, Bucky and Hugh stood nose to bloodied nose, their chests heaving for breath as they glared with such viciousness you were surprised neither of them dropped dead against the hood of Hugh’s car. “My name is Ransom, you fucking asshole,” Hugh spat, the blood from his broken nose slowly trickling down to land on his once pristine coat and scarf.

“Well, Ransom,” Bucky snarled, his lip curling. “Shut your fuckin’ mouth before I make you eat through a straw for the rest of your pathetic, trust fund existence, you bitch.”

Well, that wasn’t hot.

Bucky was ignoring every tug on his arm, your pleas of, “Just leave it alone, Buck,” going unanswered – it had started to become a spectacle with the crowd of people circling the three of you in. A few people were whistling and cheering, their whooping only making the atmosphere more tense.

Steve and Sam broke through the crowd and met your scared gaze and they blanched; the sudden change of their normal playful demeanour only unnerved you further.

Bucky was not moving.

“That’s enough boys,” Steve called as he stepped forward, his once bright eyes now dark with intention, for what, you couldn’t tell. His hand rested against Bucky’s chest and pushed back to create distance between the two. “Settle this on the streets, not here.”

Your eyes widened when Sam grabbed a hold of your shoulders, pulling you back. “Steve, you can’t be serious,” you argued, and Sam chuckled.

“Bucky is a monster behind the wheel when he’s this riled up, trust me, sweetheart,” Sam whispered as he draped an arm around your shoulder, his grip tight and unrelenting when you shifted to lean against his side slightly.

The last thing you wanted was for Bucky to be behind the wheel this angry, he wouldn’t be smart – he would not be safe.

Ransom and Bucky were still staring one another down and ignoring Steve as he pulled two slips of pink paper from the back pocket of his jeans.

No. No, Bucky wouldn’t do this.

“Bucky! Don’t, please!” You cried. The adrenaline from seeing him so angry coursed through you like a wildfire. “Please don’t!”

Bucky turned his head slightly to look at you out of the corner of his eye and your stomach sunk – he never turned down a challenge.

“Sam,” Bucky asked, turning back to look Ransom dead in the eye, the slight tilt of his head only telling you that the look on his face would be murderous. “Take care of my girl while I teach this punk a lesson.”

“Will do,” Sam replied, the grip on your shoulders slackening slightly as he turned to guide you to their corner. You took that opportunity to pull free and dart forward to grab Bucky’s hand, the sudden pressure of your grip made him turn to look at you with slightly widened eyes, as though he couldn’t believe it.

“Let’s go, now,” you said, tugging him along. And for once, Bucky didn’t resist.

You paid no mind to the fact that you were holding his hand, nor to the fact that you had never initiated contact with him before now, or the fact that Bucky’s gaze never left the side of your face as you stalked towards his Skyline as it lay in wait. Sam and Steve’s not-so-quiet sniggers and laughter as they followed right behind the two of you also went ignored, your tunnel vision and focus honed in only on Bucky’s Skyline.

The pink slips, now filled out for a shining white Porsche and Bucky’s Skyline, were now stuffed into Steve’s back pocket, the crinkle of the paper loud over the hum of conversation.

You had finally reached Bucky’s car when Bucky pulled you to a stop – the sudden resistance making you stumble slightly as you turned to face him. Your hand still holding his. “What?”

Bucky smiled. All traces of hostility had disappeared and he looked at you as though seeing you clearly for the first time, his eyes gleamed with a suspicious happiness. You raised your brow and his smile turned into a grin as he pointedly looked down.

You followed his gaze and froze.

Well, shit.

“W-Wait,” you stumbled, suddenly very aware of the feel of the calluses and the roughness on his own caused by years of working on engine blocks and chassis. “Me holding your hand doesn’t, like, mean anything, Bucky. Not in that way, at least,” you rambled, nervously.

God, why was it suddenly so hot?

If the high beam of the headlights on an approaching racer was the brightest thing you had seen in this lifetime, it was nothing compared to the wide grin on Bucky’s face as he stared up to the sky, the ghost of a laugh leaving him.

He was still holding your hand. And he was not letting go.

“Unless you want it to mean something, I don’t mind,” you mumbled quickly, suddenly unable to tolerate looking anywhere but your feet. Had you seen that oil slick before? Surely not. You had to make it a point to get Bucky to check the seals of his engine. “That’s cool.”

A sudden squeeze to your hand made you quickly snap your focus from the oil slick on the ground to your joined hands, and then up to Bucky’s face. When you met his gaze, your eyes widened in shock – his eyes had never ever been so bright, so blue, and it was like the final gut punch before the ultimate rejection. You knew it.

“I need my good luck charm to give me a kiss–to help me win,” Bucky whispered, the smirk on his face made his tone playful.

What?

“Huh?” You whispered back, unable to keep the shock from your voice.

What the hell is going on?

“I said, my good luck charm has to gimme a kiss, to help me win.” Bucky edged forward and moved his left hand to tilt your chin up, the cold bite of the vibranium a relief against your hot skin. “Don’t make me repeat myself, sweetheart.”

Oh, fuck.

“Y-Yeah, I will.” If only you could have kept the whimper from being so damn obvious, he wouldn’t look at you like that.

“Good girl.”

Your lips brushed his, a soft, chaste kiss, barely there, but it stole the breath from your lungs nevertheless. Bucky was first to let go and he gestured towards his Skyline, the gunmetal grey paint illuminated in the white light of the streetlight, and you took your place against the arch as you waited for him to slip into the driver’s seat, a hesitant smile on your face while he watched you as the engine purred to life.

“You better be safe, Buck!” Steve called as he ducked back out of his car, the flag in his hand acting like a beacon to all the eyes watching Bucky prepare. Cars had already moved from the street to make room for the two competitors.

“Are you a flag girl now, Stevie?” You shouted and he groaned in response, flipping you off.

“He wishes, sugar. He’s got the body for it, don’t you think?” Bucky grinned and revved his engine to cover the obscenities Steve shouted over his shoulder at him. “Such a drama queen.”

“You’re not wr-” You started, only to be interrupted by the sight of Ransom’s Porsche rolling towards the line. The exhaust crackled as it spat fire while he turned it around so the tail lights now faced you, the whine of the engine only made you more nervous for what exactly was under that hood.

“Look at me, sweetheart,” Bucky said softly, and you complied, only hesitating slightly. His jean-clad legs were in the footwell and his elbow hung out the window when he shut the door.

The hungry expression on his face was an immediate shock to your nerves, he never looked at you like that – at least that you had noticed. But you didn’t hate it; if you ignored the way all of your blood rushed south.

You had to ignore it.

“I have an idea, sugar,” Bucky purred, smirking as he gestured you closer. You complied, going against your better judgement. As soon as you were close enough, Bucky reached forward and grabbed the back of your neck and pulled your face to his, the bruising kiss that followed made you dizzy with want.

Much too quickly, Bucky pulled away with a shit-eating grin on his face, the absolute unhindered sense of mischief evident in his eyes.

He wasn’t done with you.

“Hold that thought, sweetheart,” Bucky said, his voice deepening with a competitive edge. “I gotta teach this punk a lesson.”

Scenes I would have liked to see in Magnificent Century (always being updated)

These are just things I would have liked to see, or honestly just hyper specific scenes I’ve envisioned in my own head. Don't come at me about realism. That's not why any of us are here.

Would love to hear everyone's opinions and what you would have like to see in the show!

Hürrem telling Suleiman about Leo and him accepting it A big part of Hürrem’s power in the harem in the show is that she got away with a lot of things, whether it be through manipulation or Suleiman’s love for her, but mostly it was through being smart and manipulative. That’s a huge part of her character, but it would have been nice to see a moment where she doesn’t win and has to come clean to Suleiman. His acceptance of Leo would have made their love more genuine in my eyes. He knew she was a slave and had a life before him.

Hürrem's past as a priest’s daughter When Hürrem went to Edirne, it would have been great to see her open the palace to the sick and nursed them instead of sitting there helplessly in literally one spot the whole time. We saw her help Hatice medically in seasons 1 and 2 and she was a priest’s daughter so we know she saw a lot of sickness and has some basic idea of giving aid.

Hürrem seriously going off on Suleiman at least once Again, a big part of Hürrem's legacy was how nuts Suleiman was for her and how she could get away with things other concubines couldn’t. I would have liked to see her really loser her temper at him at least once. Maybe go off about how difficult it is in the harem, being a woman battling for her life and her kids’ lives. It would have made their relationship seem deeper than it was in the show.

Generally seeing Suleiman's absolute obsession with Hürrem That man was nuts about her in real life. True Gomez and Morticia Addams.

Some good moments between young Mustafa and Hürrem Like thanking him for saving Mehmet from drowning in the first season or saying, “Thank you for being such a good big brother to my son.” She protected him during the janissary riots, but we didn’t see much day to day interactions between them. It would have made the distancing between them more impactful.

Another grown sultana in the family, like Mahidevran’s daughter Raziye It would have been great to see the dynamic between Mihrimah and another daughter, especially one that was older but still within her age range. The aunts were older than her and she constantly had to show them respect, so it didn’t feel like a fair fight. And Esmahan had to defer to Mihrimah too because she was the Sultan’s daughter. Another daughter who is equal to Mihrimah in most ways would have been fun.

Hürrem pulling away during the whole Firuze thing Hürrem had to stay on Suleiman’s good side because he’s the sultan, but I would have loved to see her pull away from him in small ways, like not spending time with him or choosing to eat alone and not with him. I’m a sucker for a good grovel.

Suleiman actually apologizing for things he’s done Again, I love a good grovel and it never happens in this show. He always just got sick and woke up and told Hürrem how much he loved her. This goes into Hürrem pulling away during the Firuze arc and showing Suleiman her love is reasonably conditional. Again, real life Suleiman was whipped for Hürrem.

Ibrahim and Hürrem bonding at least once over being slaves and considering what their lives might have been like at home This kind of goes into my last point of Hürrem pulling away from Suleiman when he was with Firuze. I always thought that would be a great scene when they’re having dinner with the dynasty members when Firuze was in the picture. I envisioned Hürrem mulling about her “home” in Eastern Europe and confusing the dynasty about what "home" to her seems to mean now that's she's pretty unhappy, then asking Ibrahim in front of all of them what he thinks his life might have been like if he hadn’t been taken. This could have given way to a deep scene between Hürrem and Ibrahim as well as a sweet scene later on of Suleiman asking Hürrem to share her memories of her home.

Firuze slowly losing favor instead of an instantaneous decision There are so many deus ex machinas in the show that act as resolutions to issues and the Firuze thing was one of them. I would have liked to see her slowly lose favor, like treating Cihangir without permission from Hürrem or Suleiman, being disrespectful to Hürrem in front of him, or butting in on the family grieving Mehmet’s injury.

Hafsa and Hürrem bonding over something other than hating Mahidevran, like the loss of Hürrem's unmentioned son It was great to see her realize Mahidevran’s manipulations, but I hoped for a deeper resolution between her and Hürrem. We only see Hafsa acknowledging Cihangir’s illness like once or twice, which is so out of character, but I know they were trying to keep her firmly in the area of antagonist (crappy writing). Hürrem had another son, Şehzade Abdullah, who died as a toddler. Losing a child would have been a good bonding moment for them and brought them back as mothers.

Hurrem’s kids speaking Russian(?) One thing I always found wholesome is when children speak the language of both parents. It would have been a great homage to Hürrem's roots, since we didn’t see it a lot, especially in season 3. On that note, I would have liked to see Hürrem revert to her native tongue when she lost her temper, since that’s super common.

Mercan going over to Hürrem's side and staying in Season 4 One of Hürrem's best character traits was her ability to make her enemies her friends and Mercan was a great enemy. Convincing someone who was so zealously devoted to another dynasty member to come over to her side? Iconic. His and Sümbül's dynamic was also great and watching them being forced to work together would have been fun.

A reunion between Hürrem and Gulnihal, maybe Hürrem meeting Gülnihal's kids and husband and seeing Hürrem's kids grown Characters tend to disappear and never be mentioned again in this show despite their big influence on characters and their development. She should have gotten a kiss on the hand like Hatice and Suleiman did for Afife. She raised Hürrem's kids.

Ibrahim telling Suleiman to stay out of his marriage during the Nigar affair This is probably the most unrealistic thing I envisioned, but I love when one character beneath another in rank or station stands up to that person as a friend. And Ibrahim was getting bolder throughout the seasons so it wouldn’t have been totally out of character.

Hürrem helping Nigar escape with her daughter instead of Firuze The whole Hürrem helping Firuze escape thing made no sense but it was in there to prove that Firuze was a spy. I think I speak for everyone in this fandom when I say I would have liked to see Hürrem help Nigar and Esmanur escape instead and the whole kidnapping Mihrimah’s baby thing not happen. But it would not hinge on the writer's hating Nigar's character and making her lose her mind and betraying Hürrem for a man.

Mihrimah being Selim’s valide sultan Mihrimah was well aware of the fratricide law, it was the whole reason she worked with Hürrem to kill Mustafa. She wasn’t so naïve to think her own brothers wouldn't get caught in each other’s crosshairs. Kösem forgave Osman for killing her own son, I don’t think it’s out of the realm of realism to see Mihrimah and Selim get back on good terms. It’s one of my favorite parts of her real life legacy.

Suleiman letting Hürrem do something really shady for him at least once He couldn't get his hands dirty, but he knew at least to some degree how cunning his wife was, even if he was willfully blind to it. Would have loved to see a "I won't ask questions" kind of conversation between them and Hürrem strolling from the room like a hitman for hire.

Cihangir seeing some sort of consequences for his naïve support of Mustafa As wise as he was, he was so painfully naïve when it came to Mustafa, seeing him face some consequences for that would have been satisfying.

Suleiman seeing more negative ramifications of sending Hürrem away in S3 Suleiman tended to send Hürrem off willy nilly because he could and not really take into account for the ramifications, especially in such a charged atmosphere. Seeing consequences to those choices would have been satisfying and would have reinforced Hürrem's importance as a partner, parent to adolescent children, harem ruler, etc.

Mihrimah’s trip back to the palace in S2 after Hürrem was ambushed being more difficult, like an actual kidnapping I really like antagonists being taken down by their own hubris and it would have been fun to see Hafsa suffer real consequences for her fake ambush.

Hatice going off on Hafsa about how she treats Hürrem at least once in S2 She questioned her a few times in season 2, like when Hürrem's horse was stabbed. She did it a few times in calm ways in season 1 and once or twice in season 2, but seeing her lose her temper even a little would have been satisfying. I think this could have more happened if they had stuck to actual history and Hafsa had come as a slave and not a princess.

Suleiman seeking more comfort in Hürrem Suleiman was described as “weak” for Hürrem and it wasn’t really shown in his more emotional moments. The show expected us to be fine with his speeches and poems and see basic expressions of affection as “weakness.” When Ibrahim died, I would have really like to see him break down with Hürrem, his face in her stomach, the whole nine yards. He really just glared at her in that scene.

Hürrem and Suleiman being more of political and personal partners In the show a lot he tells her to “mind her business” and “don’t get involved in things that don’t concern you.” He also blew her off and treated her like a child when she voiced certain concerns (his condescending little smiles made me feral). A big part of her legacy was being an advisor to him and their abilities to share with each other what they couldn’t share with others.

The real importance of Hürrem's new haseki status and what that meant This was such a thing for me. Hürrem being the first with the haseki status was HUGE in the harem at the time but that whole story line was abandoned for the sake of rivalry between her and Mahidevran, which would have been there regardless. I hated seeing Hürrem curtsy to the sultanas in later seasons, especially in season 4 when Vahide was the actress. It was like having to watch Hafsa curtsy to anyone.

Mihrimah pulling away from Hürrem more during her engagement/marriage to Rüstem "Yeah, I'm doing this for my brothers but do you expect me to happy about it? Gush and fawn over having a kid with a man who kind of repulses me? I have postpartum depression? I'm super unhappy so I can't imagine why." Like I've mentioned before, big fan of having a character's ego come back and bite them and I think Hürrem should have suffered more consequences for basically telling Mihrimah her happiness doesn't matter. She was a little delusional in S4, acting all coy, telling Mihrimah she still loves Rüstem and they would find their way back to each other. Girl...she never liked her husband, stop trying to act like her homegirl and push her to be happy in a marriage she would have rather died than be in.

Gülfem standing up to Hatice at least once Hatice had a real high horse sometimes and even if she was insulting someone else, I could tell it made Gülfem feel a certain way because she was also a slave. This is yet another character I would have liked to see lose their temper in a more aggressive way. Like, girl, have some character development.

Some sort of resolution between Mihrimah and Esmahan Mihrimah had pretty much know other girl her age to lean on, I think it would have been easier to invest inheritance character if you saw her break down maybe once with Esmahan instead of trying to be tough. Like when Esmahan went to comfort her before her wedding. Mihrimha’s fake tough persona in that moment seemed hollow and just like a young bratty kid. Or when Humasah was kidnapped.

Bali Bey manhandle the sultanas a little bit during their questioning about Hürrem's disappearance I’m going to get a lot of flack for this one. I don’t mean him really putting his hands on the actresses, I mean like grabbing Şah's arm when she leaves. I like seeing haughty characters being taken down a peg. They would have seen they’re not as infallible as their status makes them feel.

More bonding between Gülfem and Hürrem at least once Gülfem lost a child and saw what Mahidevran and Hürrem had to go through fearing for their own sons. Hürrem had the chance to pay Gülfem some sort of compliment on the balcony when Cihangir was sick, like "I'm not as strong as you." Out of character, but this is basically an OOC post.

Hürrem let some things take their natural course Like when Mahidevran discharged Esma when she took charge of the harem. Suleiman would have caught on eventually that Hürrem was constantly unable to spend time with him due to taking care of 5 kids, or having to train brand new concubines.

Hatice being happy with her new husband I really liked him.

Hatice getting some closure about Sadika A big part of Hatice’s early character was her empathy for those below her (most of the time). She liked Sadika and wanted to see her happy and I’m sure Sadika had grown some affection for Hatice. I would have like to see Sadika write a letter to Hatice before attempting to murder Suleyman saying something along the lines of “I’m sorry for lying to you, my friendship with you was real but this was more important.”

Those kids must have had a lot of "aunts and uncles" in the servants. I'm sure Mihrimah saw more than just one or two of the concubines as mother/aunt/sister figures, especially as the Sultan's only daughter.

A better ending for Gülfem Because what the fuck was that?

Mihrimah going off on her aunts at least once While she had to defer to them because they were older and was an unspoken respect thing, she could get away with talking to them a certain way more than maybe Hürrem could. "I know you're trying to kill my mother and that can't happen because then what happens to us?" or "I know you killed Nazil, who raised us, and you thought we'd never find out and see you differently? Stop acting like you give an absolute flying fuck about us when you know what will happen if our mother is killed or Mustafa becomes Sultan. This is war."

Hürrem showing more affection to adult Mihrimah She absolutely had to defer towards her sons' safety, but sometimes she acted like she actively disliked her only daughter in S4.

Mihrimah not being a brat when she was young (S2) It would have made her rise to power more impressive and more endearing. Sometimes older Mihrimah just seemed like a princess who had never been told no so she always expected to win.

Mahiedvran and Hürrem sharing one sincere hug They had more things in common than not. They were both women, mothers, slaves stuck in a patriarchy and both could lose their sons with one decision from a man who has complete control.

Hürrem having more quietly pervasive PTSD symptoms. She displayed plenty of symptoms like hyperarousal, emotional over-stress, emotional dysregulations, hypervigilance, etc, but a lot of symptoms can be more quietly sinister and they missed that chance. The symptoms they did display first and foremost took away from her character because we couldn't differentiate all the time between angry Hürrem and traumatized Hürrem. "She's angry and violent and irritable? Oh, that's jUsT HüRrEm."

More rank-opposite hand kissing One trope I will forever and forever always live for is shows of deference opposite of rank. When Suleiman and Hatice kissed Afife's hand? Loved it. Suleiman kissing Hafsa's hand? Not totally the same, but kind of still love it.

Afife telling Şah and Hatice she was ashamed of them at least once Would have rocked their shit. And you know she for sure was.

Mihrimah being happy with Taşlıcalı in the end Probably the second most implausible head canon. They had both lost a lot and know what war costs, why not end up with another person who can empathize with your unique pain?

More of Gülfem and Hürrem's real historical relationship Always going to touch on sticking to historical accuracy when I get a chance. Leslie Peirce touches on the fact that Gülfem was probably more of a mentor to Hürrem than she was in the show, guiding Hürrem through what was an unprecedented rise in the harem and, therefore, a huge and probably shocking rise in responsibilities that Hürrem didn't know how to manage on her own. Suleiman trusted Gülfem with Hürrem when he was on campaign and Gülfem was most likely there when Hürrem died. Instead of being the dynasty's emotional support pet in season 3, we should have seen her turn coats for the better.

Women lashing out at each other for their children and not for a man The real reasons Mahidevran and Hürrem probably lashed out at each other the most was because the fratricide law dictated every facet of their lives. Love, sex and jealousy were not half as much on their minds as the show made it out to be. Let me see vicious mothers, not jealous girls.

More about Suleiman's late children He had I think 2-3 children before Mustafa that all died of the plague that we never really heard about. And it would have given even more credence of the severity of Mahidevran trying to poison Hürrem when she was pregnant.

More about the entire royal family's grief and trauma with Sultan Selim I That man was batshit and you hear offhanded comments such as "I see your father when I look at you" when Suleyman does something cruel. Go more into that. What was it like to fear for your life, your son's/brother's/uncle's lives? Selim I literally hunted half his family down and executed them. It would have given them so much more depth as characters.

Leo haunting Ibrahim In the back of scenes, the blurry character the audience only just notices, the specter standing over this shoulder in a quiet room, the beating heart beneath the floorboards. The start of the death of his innocence given form, standing at the end of the hall as his body is being carried away. Fucking art.

Nigar being on Hürrem's side in season 3 and being totally psycho about it I would like like to see Nigar regrow the brain cell she had in season 1, but maintained her scorched earth policy in season 3, but on Hürrem's side. Would have been great. Snapped: Harem Edition.

The Development of Esma and Hürrem's relationship Esma was one of the harem girls Hürrem didn't like at the beginning of the first season and then she was one of the only people Hürrem ever trusted with her children. I would have liked to see that development, or at least the moment Hürrem chose Esma to be her kid's nanny.
