#okay uh 😵‍💫#I didn't talk about it much but the last piece I drew REALLY got to me #Just the idea of Avery giving Finn a physical #and him laughing at just about everywhere Avery touches...#Like feeling his neck to check his lymph nodes... feeling his belly... Finn just laughing gleefully and Avery chuckling gently #at how cute he finds it... then when he gets to his gills and Finn says he's not ticklish there but by that time... Avery has already made #him laugh quite a bit #so he's looking forward to Avery tickling him more... which is why he makes that comment #but Avery is suspicious of that regardless because of how ticklish he is everywhere else... so he pulls out one of those extra fluffy swabs #/////////////#this is the part that really gets to me 😵‍💫 because of the knowing look he'd have on his face and the unceremonious way he'd start dabbing #it on Finn's gills just KNOWING it's going to tickle so when Finn starts laughing he can't help but tease a bit #but this is all predicated on a genuine concern for Finn's health... not just physical but also his disposition... his mental state and how #he reacts to things... like are his reflexes good - is he alert and attentive - do his lungs sound clear when he's laughing #jfc #I'm not much of a foot person but imagining Avery checking the webbing between his toes and him just giggling his head off #😵‍💫#yeah like #if I had the time and energy #I would've made that a comic #Medical stuff is REALLY getting to me lately and so are goddamn teachersssss... #ramble #my first thought was like: how is this even a debate what about blind people. not every book comes in braille but MOST have an audiobook #or dyslexic people #you still enjoyed the book!! you still absorbed it!!! you got EXACTLY the same thing as people who read the words!!!#how does it not count????#i guess you miss out on the 'learning new vocab' you get through seeing the words but also #i don't really do audiobooks but i do a lot of podcasts esp fiction podcasts #and i have ABSOLUTELY picked up new stuff from there that helps with my writing #someone please explain how this is even an argument of COURSE it counts????#idk in my opinion finishing a book means 'i put the words in my brain and i thought about them and i enjoyed a story'#not 'i held a stack of paper in my hands for a bit'#i'm v lucky that i do have time to sit and read. and whenever i commute anywhere it's public transport so i CAN bring a book with me #but if i didn't have the free time or had to drive for hours everywhere i would be STOKED to still get to enjoy books #it's been REALLY bothering me lmao idk why i feel so strongly #for some reason it's giving the same energy as like. being told you can't take a comic or manga from the library bc it's not a 'real' book #of course it's a real book it's a story somebody wrote down #i can see this spiralling into 'if you have a kindle you aren't reading'. you have to sniff the paper. feel the papercuts

I think what I want to get into with the "Anyone can do harm." thing that I keep beating yall over the head with is that literally anyone, anyone at all can do harm it's not "in your DNA" to be an abuser or written in the stars that you'll be a predator. Whatever image you have of an abuser in your head, drop it and replace it with your favorite person in the world and you'll probably be closer to the truth than you realize. It's easy to address harm when it's coming from someone you already hate. I see it happen all the time. Someone you couldn't stand for no real reason does something heinous then all of a sudden here comes the avalanche of "I always knew they were a fucked up individual." No, you didn't. There is no possible way you could have known, you just already didn't fuck with them before they started doing something you could use to justify your hatred of them. I'm guilty of it too! I'm petty, mean, vindictive, and yes! I'm way quicker to believe something bad about someone I hate versus someone I love because I'm human. Still, y all gotta learn to move past that initial "Well, they were always nice to me!" gut feeling and understand that nobody truly knows anyone and anyone can be capable of anything. Even victims. Even you.
