yk when i think about it, especially when im watching the anime with people who havent read the manga, the reason a lot of people who only watch the anime and didnt read the manga misinterpreted saikis character so badly is definitely in part because of how damn fast paced the anime is 😭

like that little smile and eye shine frame is there for not even half a second in the anime, so its easier to miss it and assume that he really did only finish those workbooks to get coffee jelly ☠️ its much more clear if you get a good look at how he reacts here that hes just a silly little tsundere and a fucking liar

ik they generally don't mean it in a bad way and it's supposed to be complimentary but people being like 'first/khaotung are so talented they should be on big screens/should be doing x type of work they deserve so much more than this!!' feels really condescending and dismissive of the work they've done and are doing right now. like their work has value and worth as it is, right now . if they choose to go a different way with their careers fine but being in a movie or whatever doesn't inherently mean their work is better or has more value, esp if its done just for the sake of saying they've been in a movie like. they are not somehow degrading themselves or their worth or their talent as actors by doing the work they're doing now and if you think that or that they're somehow being 'wasted' doing what they're doing then that's kinda fucked up and rude. tbh.
