mmm i’m thinking up an au where paul still harbors feelings for darry despite them being broken up and a summer fling at best. they’ve never actually met each others family so the curtis’ and co don’t know paul; everything they know about the others family is from the grapevine or stories they tell (which is to say paul could point out all of darry’s friends/family from a line up bc darry’s a chronic oversharer)
i digress. one day pauls out and he sees a kid getting jumped paul sees. at first he was just going to keep driving until he got a good glimpse at the kid and realized they look a lot like that pony kid darry use to tell him about and if he squinted he could even see hints of darry in him.
and he really ought not help, he especially shouldn’t be helping some greaser. but if he helps the kid, if he gets in close and pretends he really cares about the kid, there’s a chance he could win darry over again. because darry loves his siblings so what better way to win him over than helping his them ? so purely out of selfish desire does he help pony.
BUT weeks- nay months pass by and paul actually finds himself genuinely caring about pony. like he starts to think of pony as a little brother almost on the same level as he does bob. and he has yet to even see darry again

thinking about zosan where zoro still calls sanji cook, but it rankles him to no end because (no offence to cooks, now) he is a chef. he has sweat, bled and cried for the right to call himself that. he has the burns and the scars and the skills to prove it.
but eventually he gets used to it; after a while it wears like a well-used sweater. it’s just another annoying name in the arsenal zoro has for him.
and then. one day, after they’ve been sailing together for a while, they’re in the galley and sanji absentmindedly asks zoro to do something and he answers with a “yes, chef” and sanji freezes.
he straightens. turns around. stares at zoro until the swordsman feels it and looks back, and sanji blinks. “you called me chef.”
and zoro, the bastard, has the audacity to shrug like it’s no big deal. “you are a chef. what’s the problem?”
“there’s—” sanji pauses. takes a fortifying breath and tries to stomp down on the bloom of warmth beneath his sternum. “—no problem. there’s no problem. i want those onions in rings in two minutes.”
“yes, chef,” zoro repeats teasingly, flipping the knife in his hand and getting to work, and sanji stares into the pot he’s stirring on the stove for longer that he’d like to admit.
zoro’s so blasé about the whole thing, he wonders if he’s being fucked with— but the strangely affectionate hip check he gets says otherwise, as do the knuckles scrubbed into the top of his head as they finish up dinner.
from then on, he’s chef.
(but would sanji be insane if he said that he missed being called cook?)

something something poseidon can’t speak about sally, can’t say her name or percy’s (names have power after all). he barely dares to even think about her or percy during waking hours, for fear that one of the other gods or monsters will sense where his thoughts stray. and yet…he dreams about her, about percy. the gods have thousands of years of memories to dream about, and he dreams about them.

Another fun way of showing Ratio’s humanity is that most of the genius society members we’ve met aren’t human at all
Herta is presumably a human but we’ve only met her puppets, and Screwllum is a sentient robot (idk his lore sorry). Ofc there’s Ruan Mei who is human but acts/seem inhuman due to rejecting death and her ethically questionable experiments.
Despite Ratio’s mask and statues, even those depict humans

I’ve absolutely no idea why but the little bit in ep 5 where Colin knocks on the carriage roof to make them stop for the Queen’s missive is incredibly hot.
It might be the post-sex glow but still. Damn.

The thing that drives me crazy about Henry Crawford is that he almost made it. He almost changed. A bit more restraint, a little more core morality, and his life could’ve been so different. Everything could’ve been so different.

Ngl I’ve been thinking about how I kind of love the dynamic of Gorgug and Riz. Like they feel like each other’s opposites in a way? Gorgug is a gentle giant, he’s not known for his intelligence but his heart. That being said, when the time comes for it, he can be mean. Or as someone said “a bit of a cunt”. However Riz is known to be intelligent and calculating. And kind of mean. But when it comes down to it, he is a very loving character.
They are also treated similarly in Freshmen year. That being how they are both bullied by the “popular kids”. This leading to both Fabian and Fig making sure they are not seen together in order for their whole plan to work.

one thing that i really like even though it’s kind of silly is how just-some-guy most of the indycar drivers are. like kyle looks like the kid next door growing up. colton looks like every artsy music kid you’ll ever meet. will power could drop his kid off to school and no one would blink. like i feel like the fact that most of the drivers seem like people you could meet and know makes the whole series seem more grounded (as someone who gets put off by the separation/aloofness some celebrities seem to have)

There were some young fellas on the train home last night all trying to give their friend advice on his girlfriend (who sounds like absolute shit, btw), and they’re all telling him to dump her and leave it at that and I have never heard a group of guys be so open and vulnerable about the dumb shit they’ve done to learn their lessons. And there was a moment where you could feel the braincell leaving and they all started acting silly and whimsical

Cat groups on Facebook are such a trip. On one hand you get people who are like “This is my cat, he is a SNOWSHOE and I found him as a kitten abandoned behind Home Depot!” And when asked why they think it’s a snowshoe they’re like “he has a single white toe and loves people” as if that doesn’t describe like 80% of cats on earth.
And on the other hand you get people who are like “this is my tabby Barbra” and Barbra looks like this

When people say they re-read acotar and can see Tamlin’s red flags now, I wonder if they forget it’s a retelling of beauty and the beast. That buzzword of red flags gets used, but he’s supposed to be grumpy and growly and like a beast because that is the point of the retelling - they were there from the start. Feyre still falls in love with him despite him being the beast, that’s the point of the story
