wait do people read first person stories and think they're the ones in the story???

Saw people talking about not liking first person, which is fair, but their reasoning was like "I would not do that" and I don't understand that mindset.

First person stories are still about a character. A character making their own decisions. First person isn't about you???? At least I thought it wasn't. What am I missing? I've always seen first person as just a more in-depth look into a character's mind and stricter POV. Not as a reader stand-in.

Okay but have y'all noticed that Luke has different smiles/laughs for different castmates? Like he has a specific laugh he does with Nic, a slightly different one with Claudia, and remember that one scene when Benedict tickles Colin's face when they're all drinking at the Mondrich bar? He does that same cheeky, dimply smile in interviews with Luke T and no one else! He truly is one of a kind!

I actually haven't paid too much attention to that (I blame it on being entirely too distracted by his general adorableness and beauty), but I think I know what you mean. I generally enjoy watching him with different castmates as he just lights up with them. You can clearly tell Bridgerton crew is like family to him 🥹

Also everyone loves him so much and same! Absolutely adore this man 🥰

My beef with Antonia is that based on her actions, she doesn't seem to love him. Tbf as you said, we don't know the nature of their relationship. It's just that, I can't imagine doing things online that would draw hate to my partner. It seems to be more important to her to antagonize the fandom rather than to maintain his privacy and peace of mind. Yeah they troll her, but some of the things she's posted have been kinda petty and smug. Why can't being with him be its own reward?

No offence to you Anon, but every time someone mentions how things she did are drawing hate to Luke, I wanna ask - what things, exactly?

Because imo half the arguments about her antagonising the fandom, taunting fans and teasing are entirely void. I believe that some fans are too self-important, thinking that Luke, Antonia, even Nic or Jake, think about us when they post things on sm, such as sharing dinner photos, random places they've visited etc. As in those fans believe they are so important, they take up space in brains of literal strangers. Antonia is just living her life, and sharing bits of it online, as me and you do, I'm sure. She doesn't taunt fandom on purpose when she posts a pic of pasta in a restaurant or a random sunset photo. Imo the pettiness and smugness you perceive are your assumptions, mostly.

Like generally I believe that half the things she's blamed for are what some fans had assumed or thought had been aimed at them, when in reality it could've been her living her life. Just my point of view.

And well, we don't know them so I can't say if she appears to love him or not. Sometimes it's worth remembering that what we get is literally a glimpse into their lives. It's not the whole picture.

Luke is so precious. Did anyone else notice that in the Wired autocomplete interview, he was peeling off the little pieces of paper, folding them up and putting them in his pockets so he wouldn't litter up the studio? Usually people just throw them on the floor, but he didn't want anyone to have to clean up after him. Protect him at all costs!

I noticed that! He just seems so thoughtful and kind towards everyone. It’s one of my favourite things about him in fact.

Another personal favourite is this moment during the Buzzfeed puppy interview when he bursts out laughing really loudly in that adorable way of his, startling the puppy in his lap so he just instantly pets the pup and apologises?? Newts please stop being so cute.

I don’t understand how can anyone dislike this literal cinnamon roll…

It's still so strange to me how apparently taboo it is to like a post on someone's Instagram from a month ago when there are posts still circulating on Tumblr from 1550 BCE

Now taking this with a pinch of salt as who knows but supposedly Antonia’s mother liked comments on Deux Moi fast shaming Nicola during world tour which I have personally not seen. As well as some comments on her family’s politics, and her going to the New York premiere uninvited by Luke. I did think for a while that Luke seemed to spending a lot of time post tour away out the country from his family, and he seems to have become divided from his core friendship group he was always with. So hopefully nothing bad there.

As much as we want to believe in the best, if any of the above is true it’s likely Luke knows and still makes his choice. Personally I hope the relationship is genuinely happy and healthy for both of them.

I know all this, I’ve heard the rumours and so on, but half these things aren’t based on any evidence or hard facts. And I truly hate the whole discourse that blames children for their parents’ political opinions and general beliefs. In that case I’m pretty sure 3/4 of the world would be fucked. I know I would be 🤷🏻‍♀️

But the truth is there is no concrete evidence Antonia is a bad person. Same as there is no evidence towards what her and Luke even have. It might just be a situationship or a loosely defined relationship.

The truth is that we don’t know these people, and we never will. We have to claims towards their personal lives and choices. And we shouldn’t judge anyone based on assumptions and rumours.
