Just realised how fucking cool would be a book centered around Liu Qingge in the 5 years of SQQ's death.

We start with no context, Liu Qingge attacking the Huan Hua palace, dueling Binghe. Throughout the next chapters we learn about Cang Qiong, Liu Mingyan, and the reason for Qingge's attacks. Shen Qingqiu is dead and haunts the narrative. Bc it's a completly original novel, we have no idea that sqq will come back, and bc it's through lqg's pov there's a big bias against lio binghe - lqg thinks the worst about him and is scared of what he does with sqq's corpse. God readers would hate Binghe so much.

And then, deep into the plot, sqq is back. And he is nothing like lqg presented him. Lqg is an unreliable narrator idealising sqq. When we meet SQQ first time alive on screen (or at least when lqg recognises him), sqq barely spares any attention to lqg. He goes with binghe with no fight, and we're left in confusion.

I just think SQQ is a great character to be haunting the narrative, and looking at everything from lqg's perspective, he would be characterised so differently and would propably be pretty hated by fandom.

mmm i’m thinking up an au where paul still harbors feelings for darry despite them being broken up and a summer fling at best. they’ve never actually met each others family so the curtis’ and co don’t know paul; everything they know about the others family is from the grapevine or stories they tell (which is to say paul could point out all of darry’s friends/family from a line up bc darry’s a chronic oversharer)

i digress. one day pauls out and he sees a kid getting jumped paul sees. at first he was just going to keep driving until he got a good glimpse at the kid and realized they look a lot like that pony kid darry use to tell him about and if he squinted he could even see hints of darry in him.

and he really ought not help, he especially shouldn’t be helping some greaser. but if he helps the kid, if he gets in close and pretends he really cares about the kid, there’s a chance he could win darry over again. because darry loves his siblings so what better way to win him over than helping his them ? so purely out of selfish desire does he help pony.

BUT weeks- nay months pass by and paul actually finds himself genuinely caring about pony. like he starts to think of pony as a little brother almost on the same level as he does bob. and he has yet to even see darry again

These are 1 am thoughts about Ekko turned 2 am hcs for like a modern AU, take them w / what you will-

If Arcane was set in like a Modern AU he'd be genuinely way more happy and probably more easy going than he is in Arcane- :(

Sure he'd have is moments yknow but he'd be super chill to be around. He'd be in Uni rn!! He's around 19 at the start of Arcane and 20 at the end of the second season!! He'd be lamenting over labs he'd gotta do for his classes, he'd probably have an art class or two as well. Probably helps out at a community center every now and then.

Would he still be tired as hell?? Yeah - who wouldn't be.

I mean dude would have Uni and everything and probably a part time job [maybe it's the community center stuff idk]-

Augh he'd have a therapist probably I'm ngl but honestly that's good, he'd so have one to help him out w / anxiety and everything-

EKKO WOULD DEFINITELY SPOIL THAT KID-

And he'd also be in contact with w / vi and the other's too, even if it's a bit estranged or smth like that, idk- cause Vi's his older sibling figure and the rest of her family was his friends, so he talks w / them every so often-

Also he'd skateboard instead of hoverboard!! He'd definitely use his desk in his dorm as like a workbench outside of engineering classrooms, labs and workshops n stuff like that-

OH AND HE'D DEFINITELY SUPPORT LOCAL ARTISTS!! The uni he'd be in would be probably kind of close to the arts district of the city he's in and he'd walk around there and go to like small showings and live events n stuff, probably art markets too. OH AND THAT PART OF THE CITY WOULD HAVE A BUNCH OF MURALS ON EACH BUILDING TOO, DEPENDING ON WHAT THEY'RE FOR-

Ekko would also complain about housing costs and people from the bigger cities moving in and raising the prices. He would so do that and also bring it up to like the community center, and he probably has like a couple friends in the student government at his uni so he probably gets them to help w / student housing benefits for people living on campus too.

But still outside of that he'd be a bit more upbeat and happier about stuff I am ngl-

Also he is a hugger to his close friends and family. Like specifically them, anyone else and they have to work their way up that ladder for him to be comfortable enough for that. Unless if it's someone in the community center or like- a kid who needs it or something.
