But anyhow; I can def see this, especially with how they manage to break physics itself at occasion! I would argue that the Stranger is another fit for the two as the entity has strong ties to dancing, but the Stars showed us that this is what they fear themselves, and, from what we have seen in TMA, the Spiral and the Stranger are rivaling powers and almost never get along.

Adding to this, the Web appears to favor their Halloween-relayed antics, as nobody could resist leaving everything behind just to do the spooky dance whenever they are nearby. Related to my joke question above, I would say that, though the two are ultimately under the Spiral, Pump is allies with the Desolation, while Skid is probably buddy-buddy with either the aforementioned Web or the End.

Edit: The Eyes. How could I forget the Eyes of the Universe?

what do you think would be the traits of someone marked by the extinction?

Marked by the Extinction? Hmm....

In simpler terms, they might have witnessed events that revolve around, or were with groups associated with, change- the notion of all they have once been familiar with shifting into something uninhabitable, unwelcoming, twisted, and cold. Some may claim it to be evolution, while others would say that it is the consequences of our own hubris and it is nature’s attempt at healing itself from the parasites once known as “mankind”. I could use pollution as an example- having to work in an arctic plane attempting to clean up an oil spill, but the possibilities are endless when it comes to the Extinction, imo; it could also be a child who has witnessed the green lands and forests they loved to explore becoming nothing more than building housing humans and companies spilling waste, or someone concerned with examining and studying the pre-historic era of Earth.

I wouldn’t necessarily place any and all supernatural encounters that concern technology with the Extinction; after all, it has been semi-confirmed that the being known as “Sergey Ushanka” is associated with the Spiral, and the concept of AI attempting to imitate humans could fall perfectly with the Stranger. Technology is another way for the entities to manifest themselves, and it all depends on how they are used- so go wild with your imagination. When it comes to the Extinction, in my interpretation, some examples may include humans having to rely on corporate tech to the point our very souls belong to the higher ups above, or logs that detail or last days before whatever Armageddon that is going to befall us.

As for actual traits, I’d say it depends on the person- after all, if marked and they began expressing some sort of fascination mixed with the fear inflicted, they might have a chance at becoming Avatars. Going along with the examples above, perhaps they may become more concerned with the nature around them, and have become attached to objects and memories that are tied to better times. Other times, however, they may become obsessed with the idea of evolution- of civilizations falling apart for new empires to rise on the grounds they once claimed, or entire species being wipes out either by Nature itself or mankind’s greed.

Important Update: Submissions

Hello Assistants. We have an important update regarding submissions. 

As of late, we’ve received a few submissions of usernames from various Minecraft let’s plays on youtube. A majority of which are typically other users interacting with the game or let’s player in game, with minimal to no form of being in character. 

After careful consideration, Mod Center and I have decided that we will not be accepting entries from such let’s plays, as they fall under the category of “real people” and are not currently accepted. 

However, we will still continue to accept characters from full role plays such as characters from streaming DnD campaigns or certain Vtuber characters, as both are an example of acting and role play. So if the Minecraft let’s play character you wish to suggest falls in a similar vein, feel free to inquire with us and we shall put the suggestion into review.

Statement 416103

Mario represents the dichotomy of the Buried and the Vast; possibly an Avatar of both.

I did Waluigi. I did Luigi. I just put Wario in my drafts with a clear entity in mind. So, why? Why is the main face of the game- the franchise- the RICHEST COMPANY IN ALL OF JAPAN PERIODT- so hard to pin down just to one entity? Is fear soup his destiny all this time?

Well… yeah, I guess. C’mon, he’s Mario; of course destiny has to shove its own strings around and make him some sort of exception in most cases. Why didn’t I take this into account while thinking about which one would fit him the most?

Let’s be real here, who is unaware of his story? He wakes up, sees the princess getting kidnapped and the kingdom in danger, he jumps and goofs his way into Bowser’s castle, saves Peach, and repeat cycle. Sometimes. there’s cake involved! Though it is the same tale retold over and over again, these shenanigans have always landed Mario into new territories; from lands of heat and ice, to planets beyond the stars- and that’s just in what’s considered to be the “mainline” games. There are 

Not counting the likes of Mario Party and the Olympics spinoffs, since they are mostly minigame-based, the Paper Mario and RPG spinoffs place the titular Mario Bros. into new and unforseen storylines; while some of them occasionally feature some princess-saving, the core conflict in these games differ from the mainline series in both events and tone. As an example, look no further than the newest installment of the Paper Mario series, The Origami King, in which Mario has to prevent the titular king from shifting the world into his own image, while decimating the population of toads on the side; these games revolve around Mario and co. putting their collective efforts into saving the world, or, if we’re talking about Partners in Time or Super Paper Mario, the very fabrics of reality itself. Dude certaily his hands full for a mere plumber, I gotta say.

So, now that we have covered the basics of Mario’s story, let’s dive into the real meat on these bones; his personality and occupation. It has been stated numerous times that he and his brother, Luigi, are plumbers working for the Mushroom Kingdom- a job that is very much Buriedcore, so let’s add that point. While the rest of the cast have dialogue, distinct personalities, and their own quirky traits, Mario, in comparison, is the “silent protagonist” type- this isn’t to say that he does not have personality, as it has been demonstrated within the games, shows, and mangas/comics he’s been featured in, but he’s certainly more timid than the rest. Mario’s shown to be courageous (which classic hero isn’t, at this point?), considerate, idealistic and selfless, yet he’s also impulsive, reckless, and quite short-tempered- especially in Super Mario RPG. I believe I have already mentioned this in Luigi’s statement, that, while Luigi is the heart and logic, Mario is the sheer determination and the muscle.

Working as a plumber and is basically tied to the same old routine of constant princess-saving? Yeah, we can see the Buried here. Said routines surprisingly throwing Mario into new experience, his head-first personality, ability to fly upon activating certain power-ups, and those damn death pits in these games? The Vast is ever-so obvious. It’s that simple, right?

Not exactly; while we can (and will) end things here, there is a whole other layer to this that I feel like I’ve got to uncover before this mystery can be fully unravelled; another person of interest who is integral to Mario’s alignment with both of these entities- however, as I was writing the later part of this statement, I found that their part became too long for it to be combined with this one, so I have drafted it to become a separate statement on their own- like a supplemental to this one. Be on the lookout for any updates to this entry.
