It was safe to say, you were screwed. Traitor to the Fire Nation and all. 

“Ugh…” you grit out, patting your side in discomfort, pulling your hand away to find sticky blood.  

It was safe to say that Princess Azula wasn’t too happy to find out you didn’t approve of the current ideals of the Fire Nation. Alas, you were too far deep into her scheme to leave then, and you were now- but this time, you ran away.  

You weren’t going to find the Avatar- joining him would only make things harder on yourself- especially since he and his friends most definitely hated you for all the stunts you pulled alongside the son and daughter of Firelord Ozai.  

So you were left with two options. Sit in the dark and disgusting alleyway you were hiding in and bleed to death, or find somewhere to stay, patch yourself up, and bunker down with a new identity. 

If there’s one thing the Fire Nation would underestimate about you- it was your will to live. 

The journey to the Earth Kingdom was torturous, your aching feet would be screaming in overexertion, yet you pushed on. Solitude was your only solace, though the lack of social interaction guaranteed nothing would stop the onslaught of dark thoughts entering your mind, it was comforting to you that you were finally free to make your own decisions without anyone else influencing them. 

You reached the gates of the Earth Kingdom battered and bruised- the month of so that you traveled for changed your appearance quite a bit- your hair slightly longer and the numerous different climates you had suffered through allowed your hair to settle into gentle waves. You got thinner, lack of food turning you into a near skeleton, but the muscles you had trained your whole life remained, and you were stronger than ever. Obviously, the guards didn’t recognize you, letting you pass without a hitch under a fake name. 

You found a kind older woman in the outer ring of Ba Sing Se, who offered you take you in for the night. 

There, you enjoyed a soothing bath and a good meal, and she was pleasant company. You slept on the couch that night, and left early the next morning, leaving a few gold coins as a subpar payment for her hospitality. 

And then you were on your own again. 

Days passed, and then months, you worked almost every job under the sun as you finally scrounged up enough money to open your own store. 

It was a nice and quaint restaurant, and you worked your blood, sweat, and tears into it- and that was a statement, you rarely cried. Not anymore anyways- experiencing so much loss does that to people. 

You called it the Unagi- your restaurant known for its excellent soups and eel rolls, both of which were comfort foods growing up. Even though you vowed to start a new life, and throw your old one behind, you kept this part of your old life with you. You stopped bending, not a single spark or flame left your fingertips after the day you left the Fire Nation. 

Months passed, 7 to be exact, and you had built quite the reputation in Ba Sing Se- travelers from all over had some solely to try your food, and they were not disappointed. Your cooking prowess as a force to be reckoned with- and you enjoyed in immensely. For the first time in years, you were happy. 

Of course, rush hour was the most overwhelming experience you had ever had to experience- as you refused to hire anyone to assist you run your shop- your trust had run thin, and you weren’t going to risk the product of your hard work to anyone. Eventually, you learned to keep all your ingredients preprepared- and then cook them in your soups and put them in your rolls the morning of each day, so that they were all fresh and it was less work for you. All your customers were understanding, and respected you for your time and work. People loved your story- a stranger and a traveler with basically next to nothing, and then turned your life around in just a few months. 

After a few months, you practically knew all the gossip in the city- always overhearing the snippets of murmurs from your customers. Usually, you paid no mind to them, but today, what you heard stopped you in your tracks.  

“Did you hear?”  

“Yeah! The Avatar and his crew were spotted at the gates this morning!” 

“Do you think Ba Sing Se is in trouble?!” 

“I hope not, after what happened in the Northern Wa-” 

You stopped listening after that, going back to the kitchen with the blood roaring in your ears. You stirred the soup you were making with a new intensity, as it your life depended on it. Dread pooled in your stomach- if the Avatar and his friends came around the Unagi, you were done for. The Avatar would recognize you, the only one to have seen you without the normal mask you wore- and the only one out of the group you had met.  

You sighed, deciding to ignore the fear you felt. Months of peace wore down your guard a little bit, and you were used to forcing your body into a state of ease after the first few weeks you had stayed in the city- nightmares plaguing you day and night. They were gone now, thankfully, but if the Avatar and his friends destroyed everything you worked so hard to maintain, you might break.  

Fortunately, weeks went by without a hitch, no sign of the Avatar, and no sign of the Unagi being burnt down.  

One day, on a relatively quiet day, you hear a few voices outside. 

“Here Sokka, Toph, take some gold and treat yourself to some food, I hear this place is really good.” A female voice says, she sounded around 14-15 years old. “We’ll meet you back in the square- bring some for the rest of us.”  

You don’t hear much of what the girl says afterwards, opting to resume taking orders. That’s when you lay your eyes on the boy in front of you. He had a wolf’s knot, something you knew to be common in the water tribe. He had the build of a warrior, toned muscles littered with scars that you knew weren't achieved easily. And his eyes, a brilliant shade of blue you thought you could get lost in, a pleasant contrast to the red of the Fire Nation you would be tied to for the rest of your life. 

It takes you a few minutes to realize you were staring, and a few more to realize that he was too. You cough into your fist awkwardly and look away, realizing you had company. 

The young girl next to him slams a few pieces of gold onto the counter, but you, unlike the boy across from you, didn’t flinch – you were used to it. “Whaddya got for us, lady?” she asks in a brash tone, but you weren’t intimidated, nor were you offended, but the boy you were staring at earlier still apologizes on her behalf.  

You chuckle lightly, it amused you to see the energy in the two of them as you respond to the girl’s question. “The gold can get you some soup with some salmon, along with eel rolls, on the house.” you say, smiling lightly.  

The boy’s eyes light up in excitement, though he seemed a little older than you, there was no mistaking that childish enthusiasm for a nice homecooked meal.  

“Can I get your name?” You ask, grabbing your notepad and quill to write down the order.  

“Sokka” he says, with a teasing sparkle in his eyes, and you can’t help but grin at his antics. It’s been a while since you felt like this. You, giddy over a crush? The feeling was a little foreign to you, but it wasn’t unwelcome.  

“And you?” he asks, leaning slightly over the counter. You reciprocate his movements, telling him your name and telling him and his friend to take a seat.  

Sokka and his friend, Toph, left shortly after, taking their soup to go and devouring their eel rolls. It was late now, you were sweeping up the floors, planning to leave and close the Unagi in an hour or so, before something unexpected happened.  

You feel a sharp pain in your chest collapsing to the ground, your insides felt like they were burning, invisible flames eating away and you. Tears prick the corners of your eyes, mind raging and all you could see what red.  

Why was this happening to you?  

You felt your body flare up in pain, and all you wanted was for it to stop for it to go away. 

“You will always be a part of the Fire Nation. “Azula had told you, with a manic look in her eye. “No matter how long you try to suppress it, your inner fire will never be satisfied. One day, your fire will turn against you, your body won’t be able to handle it anymore, no matter how strong you think you are. Let’s face it, you’re a monster, just like me.” 

You didn’t hear the jingle of the door opening.  

Letting out an anguished cry, you thrust out your arms, cerulean flames setting one of your tables on fire.  

And staring at you, through the blue flames, were those sparkling eyes you loved so much. Staring at you with disgust and horror.  

“Sokka, oh my god-” you say, in shock. 

“Who are you.” he cuts in, his eyes sharp and cold.  

“I-I swear, I’m not with the Fire Nation anymore, I-” You stutter, your throat closing in. You stumble back, staring at the flaming table with a horrified look in your eyes.  

Sokka looks at you, unsure of what to do. You were the enemy, you were a firebender, one who could wield blue flames. Yet... he knew you were telling the truth. You were the same person who kindly gave them free food and didn’t turn them away even with Toph’s brashness.  

He sighs, and looks around, before turning back to you. “C’mon, let’s go find my friends. My sister’s a waterbender, she’ll put out the fire for you.  

You just stand there numb, your body still reeling from the aftershocks of feeling so much pain. You didn’t realize you were crying until Sokka walks up to you and wraps his arms around you, letting your tears soak into the fabric of his shirt. He strokes your hair lightly and holds you close. He smelled earthy, a musk that reminded you of the scent you smelled after it rained, all natural and grounding, soothing your worries.  

“I’m here.” is all he says, and you stand like that, Sokka’s frame blocking the blue flames from your sight- a barrier between the life you live now, and the one you left behind.  

BONUS: 

After Sokka and you find Katara and the others, you put out the fire- Aang recognized you immediately, but Sokka vouched for you, saying that you didn’t ally with the Fire Nation anymore, and that you were trustworthy. And then, once you guide them to the back of the store, where your living quarters were, you and Sokka were alone again.  

“Hey Sokka?” you ask, the boy in question looking at you with his full attention. “Why were you at my shop in the middle of the night?”  

Sokka chuckles sheepishly and looks at you with that sparkle in his eyes. “I may or may not have been craving those eel rolls of yours.” 

You snort, and you look at him with a teasing smile on your face. “You still hungry?” 

It was safe to say neither of you got much sleep that night, up laughing and throwing rice grains at each other.

affirming. i am a FIRM believer of that and have been since childhood because it’s something that’s so natural to you that most times you do it subconsciously! as a kid i had certain adults around me make me say affirmations DAILY and looking back i realized why!

repetitiveness will always equal to success, and with adhd it can be daunting and also all around frustrating to focus in on desired thoughts. some tips that i think help is writing and speaking, writing your affirmations down helps engrave it into your skull more in my opinion and speaking things into existence can never go wrong. you do it anyway.

if you’re trying to focus on self concept and one of your affirmations are “i’m deserving of my desires” it can sometimes feel like your brain will purposefully do everything in its power to focus on all but that sentence, telling yourself out loud to stop and then saying the affirmation is something that has helped loads. any this sounds silly but if i’m having a day where i’m really tweaking out i’ll envision my desired thought quite literally beating down the negative thought like… i’ll imagine a fat ass fist pounding down on it and it helps i stg

ˏˋ°•*⁀➷   have direct guidelines and influences!

write down exactly what you want and who you wanna be, and it’s nothing wrong with taking inspo. idk if this is all ppl with adhd but i take things very literal so consuming techniques and other ppls rules can sometimes mess with what i know works for me and i start to go back and forth and confuse myself, and confusion is already common enough with adhd i fear. your aren’t OBLIGATED to take what everyone says into account you’re just observing and plucking what sticks so make your own guide.

i have a journal specifically for this and ONLY this. and i make it as simple as possible, the affirmations are simple, the goals are direct and short, and i make a mini list of my core inspirations and what about them i want to have part of my reality.

this may appeal to a more creative collective but something that i do that keeps me saturated in the head space in drawing/animating and the sims. idk if ppl have spoke abt this before and i wouldn’t doubt it but drawing/animating yourself in your dr is so yummy or creating a damn save file of your dr in the sims? you can make lore, your dream wardrobe, your desired appearance, dream home/apartment, partner, job literally give yourself the clearest and most visual and interactive way of helping you develop and get a clear understanding of your dr. AND you’ll be more than likely be spending long periods of time on it which means you’ll be thinking about it longer so it’ll be easier to focus on.

someone had to think of tumblr and focus on the reality of it existing before it existed. it sounds corny but sometimes the most obvious statement is what needs to be heard, that’s why we’re constantly telling ppl to “be yourself” it’s like.. duh? but you’re quite literally conditioned after a certain age to NOT be yourself and sometimes that cliche yet simple reminder is what’s needed.

someone had to think of hello kitty before she became a reality, someone had to think of a building layout before conveying the idea to someone to help them make it a reality, you had to imagine an outfit before you put it together and was able to see it in your 3d. and when your mind is focused on a specific stream of thought patterns new ideas will shove themselves in and that’s what’ll get you to make the next decision to get closer and closer or just having these desired thoughts raise your vibrations making you vibrate on the same frequency as your desires.

the way i’m explaining it may come off as vague i’m not sure but truly simplifying it as much as possible makes it easier to digest bc again, manifesting should be and IS natural and easy. also catching yourself and being aware how you speak can help reshape your mind.

AND ALSO those posts that are like “you gotta put in the hard work and it may take years but it’s part of the process.” it’s not if you don’t want it to be. life can be as easy and effortless as you want it to be if that’s what you believe you deserve.

secondly, i agree with you on all the things you had to say !! i was once in your shoes, and if i’m being completely honest, a part of me is still navigating this as well. like some things i still question for example is if there is rlly nothing wrong with this, why do i feel the need to hide that i read/write? but for the most part, rn i am definitely set on there being absolutely nothing wrong with this! i can definitely see where these other ppl are coming from if they had never thought much of fanfiction or reader inserts etc. bc it’s probably similar to how i felt before being more exposed to fanfiction. but imo these are fantasies i just imagine in my head anyway and are almost like dreams to me yk? and so imo, they’re harmless. in fact, writing and reading ffs help grow my creativity, which is smth i value. cuz not only am i doing this for entertainment, i’m also doing it for the art (this is in terms of writing more so than reading but can still apply to both). however, similar to you, i do believe that imagines can be taken too far, as that is what aligns with my beliefs, such as nsfw fics (which is not anything personal at all to nsfw writers!). that imo can be harmful for the mind and spirit etc. (sorry if this is getting too deep and personal 😭)

Ooh ok I follow so many accs (such as yours!) that write quality Matt and Al idk if I’ll measure up, but I’ll try to say something original:

My first thought was just that they’re good bros 😂. They’re the type you can see on the street and immediately know that they’re brothers and they get along well, and not just because they look similar. (As opposed to siblings like Arthur and Alistair where the moment you walk into the same room with them you’re like 😶 what’s going on what’s the vibe here) When they’re together they make the people around them feel relaxed and at ease, because they’re relaxed and at ease with each other. However, I also believe that they’re siblings who don’t coddle each other — they tell it to each other straight, and can often be brutal af. Getting scolded by each other has more impact on them than anyone else: Al can easily dismiss a lecture from Arthur about being obstinate, but if Matt starts yelling at him to get his head out of his fucking ass, shits real. Similarly I think Arthur and most other nations have a hard time telling off Matt because he’s so nice and he doesn’t talk back, so Matt often goes to Alfred to get opinions on things with no filter.

So yeah, they’re close, but or perhaps because of that they’re also very aware of each other’s flaws (or what they perceive as each other’s flaws). Personally I think one of Matt’s biggest gripes with Alfred is his sense of responsibility/loyalty, or lack thereof. He knows that when it comes to his own duty as a nation/soldier etc. or his own people, Alfred is unfailingly loyal. But he’s wary of how Al treats others that are not necessarily bound to be within his interests — other nations, shares friends and family. A lot of this naturally stems from the fact that after Al left, all the pressure and responsibility of being the “heir” of the British Empire and the oldest child fell to Matthew. Not only that, Arthur pushed Matt extra hard and was even more strict with him because of his own hurt and fears of a “repeat” Alfred. So although Matt will never put it in as many words, for a long time he felt really bitter that even though they were brothers, twins even, Al shoved everything on Matt and pursued his own freedom. What rankled even more is that after leaving, Al tried to get Matt to join him too (by force if necessary, ahem 1812), to which Matt was like do you not understand that I have to deal with ur shit, and now ur telling me to abandon that shit on someone else and join you in pursuing an uncertain future just because you said to? So yeah, that stung. Another part of this is that Canada is friends with a lot of people that technically as an American ally he’s not “supposed” to be friends with — Cuba or Vietnam during the war are some examples. Having seen the things his brother has done/is capable of doing, he’s very aware that at any point his own relationships may be jeopardized depending on the political mood and tries to encourage Al to think about the “human” side of things in addition to the pragmatic side.

For Alfred, his main issue with Matt is that he’s a bit of a hypocrite. Like, Arthur is in many ways just as, if not more ruthlessly pragmatic than Alfred is, and yet Matthew never admonishes him; at best he gives suggestions as to what Arthur should do and if Arthur happens to insist otherwise, Matt will still follow through. Matt is also very protective of his other siblings like Zee and Australia and even HK and Singapore etc. Plus, Matt’s *ahem* relationship with Ned is something Al finds kinda iffy too — he can understand protecting Arthur or Francis, but having feelings for another imperial power is just???? No???? All these things combined make Alfred think Matthew is not so much driven by morals as personal feelings when he tells him to be nicer to other nations, and he’s not entirely wrong. It’s like Matt can condone a little bit of bullying, but not too much bullying, and his tolerance level varies depending on how close he is with the person in question. For someone like Alfred who has very clear cut values, even when he doesn’t quite act along the lines he’s set, that’s just wishy washy of Matt — dangerous, even. (This is a trait Matthew shares with Francis: both see the world in infinite shades of grey and neither like absolutes or setting hard boundaries, for themselves and for others)

no i’m - i’m pretty sure that’s just how it works. dream still owns the smp, but he himself has said wayy back at the beginning “everyone can build and go wherever they want” and that was that. it was one of his rules on the smp, it was his main problem with l’manberg. being able to build anywhere were the rules that he “had the right” to enforce. and he did, not because he was a god, but because it was his smp, his home that he claimed for his friends. wouldn’t call it a big debate, it’s really that simple.

my summation + overall thoughts of avengers: endgame

including: what i found wrong with endgame and why i am currently refusing to acknowledge that it happened.

okay i wrote this a while ago but after i never actually got around to posting it so here it is. 

first off,, i will once again introduce myself since this account is fairly new. hello, my name is mackenzie, call me mackenzie, or zie or mack or whatever you want. this was originally to be my main acc after i deactivacted all my old tumblrs because i planned to start fresh on tumblr again and after watching endgame for the second time last wednesday, this account became a marvel acc strictly so !! yeah follow me lets be friends !! message me whenever if you wanna talk or cry or anything. 

to put it bluntly,, endgame fucking sucked. 

endgame was meant to tie everything together. endgame was meant to be this great movie to sum everything up and tie it all together and to just make it make sense in other words.

there was so much hype surrounding endgame, so much pressure, so much excitement. 

in my opinion? the joint effort of the writers and the directors managed to ruin it all. they managed to take a movie that was supposed to do so much for the mcu, to tie everything together as a final conclusion to this infinity saga and they blew it all up.

endgame wasn’t a horrible movie, but there were multiple parts that i (and multiple others i know of) did not like and i will be going over it in this post.

it’s not just because of steve’s ending, which i know, i know, i’ve bitching and crying about that for a while on this account. it’s more than just steve’s ending.

this post is a little all over the place but i’ll try to keep my thoughts together the best that i can.

just a disclaimer: UNDER THE CUT I WILL BE TALKING IN DEPTH ABOUT THE EVENTS OF AVENGERS: ENDGAME AND THIS WILL INCLUDE MAJOR SPOILERS ABOUT THE MOVIE SO PLEASE BE WARY. (if you haven’t, seriously where the fuck have you been) BUT IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN ENDGAME AND DO NOT WISH TO HAVE IT SPOILED PLEASE SCROLL PAST THIS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

okay here we go !! so i made posts before about this but this is gonna just be a big long post about EVERYTHING and i’ll explain everything and why endgame sucked. 

originally i had decided to go through scene by scene and talk about each scene but i mean, that’s not really the point of this post and frankly, doing that would probably make this post longer than i want it to be. so i will be focusing on the important scenes. the ones i think are most important to point out and talk about.

as i mentioned above the cut, it’s not just about steve. i know my user is peachrogers and steve rogers has always been my fave avenger. but its more than just steve’s ending and i’ll get into that as we get to it.

i used a transcript while writing this just to help me completely recall everything as it actually was since i don’t consider my memory completely reliable so i linked it if anyone else wants to look at it.  

and again, as i mentioned above, i don’t hate everything about endgame. there were parts of endgame i did like and enjoy. tony and nebula playing paper football for example, i thought that scene was very endearing and adorable and carol coming to save them really made me happy. 

but at the same time, there were scenes i did not enjoy. and i will be mainly going depth on those scenes since i kinda wanted to just summarize and explain and captalize on why endgame failed at doing the job it was meant to do in tying together these 22 mcu films released in the past 11 years.

so starting at the beginning of the film, after they find thaos and thor chops off his head and they have a five year time skip, we see steve, in a group therapy session. 

where steve once again brings up the love of his life and how everyone has to move on. which SPOILER ALERT he doesn’t. this scene, when i first watched i was kinda like whatever, but watching it the second time and watching it now(or even thinking on it), it makes me SO SO mad. pretty sure they kept this scene bc one of the directors is in it. this scene also just makes steve contradict himself since he goes on about how important it is for to move on and yet he just doesn’t even follow his own advice in the end and it aggravates me which i will get into later on.

so skipping to after scott comes out of the time machine van and then steve goes to visit natasha. tbh everytime i watch this scene with natasha and steve, it always just breaks my heart because of the whole:

you know, i keep telling everyone they should move on and… grow. some do. but not us.

(there steve goes again just contradicting himself:(()

and i remember reblogging a gif set of nat and steve with the same caption and i just :( bc of where they end up in the end and it’s just its really sad. 

seeing tony and pepper with morgan and the fact that tony has finally achieved a level of normalcy where he has his own life with his wife and his child, it’s really nice to see. he definitely deserves it. and i completely understand tony shutting down steve, nat, and scott because he doesn’t want to risk everything especially if it doesn’t work and he ends up losing it. and i totally understood that.

the diner scene where nat, steve, and scott go to talk to bruce about time travel. first off, i just wanna point off how annoying that scene was ?? especially the part with the kids and them not wanting a pic with scott and apparently they only kept that part in bc one of the kids was one of the director’s kids?? there’s just so much wrong with it. 

and now i move on to the great marvel cinematic universe version of time travel. which in itself really hardly makes any sense whatsoever since the directors and the writers both contradict each other on how it works. if you’re going to put time travel in your movie, i really feel like everyone should be on the same page on how it works but i mean, that’s just me. 

it took me a little bit to understand it bc what the fuck. 

the scene where clint,rhodey, bruce, nebula, and scott are discussing how time travel works and rhodey is just naming off all these time movies where time travel works the way that i see it as working(where your past completely changes your future/butterfly effect/chaos theory) and bruce and nebula basically debunk the whole thing and explain it as how changing your past doesn’t change your future and all the whole thing is just bullshit if you ask me. it’s so hard to understand.

okay im not here to argue about time travel. but let me just give some perspective. for me personally, i just see time travel to work like it did in life is strange because it makes more sense. if you change something in the past, that would directly impact your future. if you go in the past and prevent someone from dying, that would not just change the fact that they didn’t die but other factors would be affected too.

and when they brought in the alternate timelines and the “multiverse” it just made things so much more complicated for me.

and i have tried to educate myself more to understand it, i’ve read through multiple posts on the whole time travel thing and i’ve rewatched movies as well to try and understand.

i guess the biggest thing that didn’t sit well with me is just that the directors and writers WHO YOU WOULD ASSUME would bring some clarity and insight on the matter really just brought more confusion and only contradicted each other and i do Not Like it at all. 

but i mean who cares about what we want ? it obviously doesn’t mean shit to them.

in the process of returning the infinity stones, steve decides to create an alternate timeline with “peggy” and live out his life with her in that timeline while actual steve of that timeline is in ice.

okay listen i was cool with the final dance, i think that was definitely needed and it would’ve been a perfect end for steve to do that and return and idk give up captain america. but instead NO THEY HAVE TO DESTROY ALL OF captain america’s character development, all of peggy carter’s character development, RUIN BUCKY AND JUST RUIN EVERYTHING THAT WASNT OKAY I AM STILL JUST SO UPSET BECAUSE FOR STEVE TO JUST THROW EVERYTHING OUT THE WINDOW AND BE WITH PEGGY IN A DIFFERENT TIMELINE ITS NOT SOMETHING STEVE WOULD DO

It’s dreams-about-peter-Parker-girl again, and this ask is a little self serving, but I recently started a marvel/peter acc where I wanna gush over those gorgeous idiots and write lotsa fanfiction, and I was wondering if you had any tips on getting started? It took me FOREVER to grow my supernatural acc and although I’ve loved it for a long time, I’m fairly new to the whole Marvel community, and I wanted to know if the queens of sin had any tips for me❤️

HEY HI HELLO BBY! HELL YEAH WRITE THE SMUT. I’m so sorry that we’re just now getting this message now, it got buried in our inbox and whoops we’re just the worst ever but hi let’s talk about writing

I can’t offer much in the way of advice for writing Marvel characters in general, like idk it’s just deciding on characterization? Sometimes it helps to fill out those original character forms that you can find online and I know that Peter Parker isn’t your original character or anything but still, it helps to have your thoughts/opinions on your Peter Parker down in writing and you can always refer back to that if you’re stuck

However, I’m more than happy to offer what little advice I can in the smut writing department, so hold on tight bitch

1.) Honestly, sometimes planning out what you’re going to write is the worst. I usually start with some sort of dialogue, it doesn’t have to be a massive conversation but like a steller one-liner that sets the tone of what you’re writing. Like I’ll be told something by a partner/think of a phrase/take inspo from other writing obviously don’t steal tho and have a moment where I realize it’s totally something Peter/Steve/Bucky/Tony would say. That phrase/dialogue becomes the starting point.

Something like: “You’re really going to make me beg for it, aren’t you?” is something Bucky Barnes would most definitely say and then I build the rest of the smut around that, like you could be teasing him, straddling his hips, almost giving him what he wants then pulling away and leaving him more and more desperate until he just gets an iron grip on your hips and flips you over and takes what he wants and then bam you got urself some porn

(Also there are plenty of smutty/NSFW starters out there if you need a starting point! I’ve gotten a lot of inspiration from RP blogs, never be afraid to take something and make it your own)

2.) I also like doing things like the NFSFW Alphabet for characters that I write smut about because it allows you to explore most of the aspects of a character’s sex life and is a sort of guideline for yourself. Like later on down the line if you’re unsure if something is in character or not, you can refer back to your NSFW Alphabet and be like oh, right choking is something he’s not that into probably because of X, Y, and Z. 

3.) Also please don’t believe that you have to have experience doing something in order to write about it. Like you don’t have to have built a warship to write a couple of sentences on woodworking in a fic and you don’t have to have been double penetrated while being choked to write smut. Yes, you want things to be realistic and believable but research and imagination are your key tools as a writer. I’ve written plenty of smut before I had slept with anyone and continue to after I’ve slept with a few different people. Experience or lack thereof doesn’t bar you from writing. 

4.) And on a more general writing note, please don’t be afraid to use words like cock and pussy, like nothing kills an otherwise good fic/smut faster for me than when my eyes are forced to read ‘her wet hole’ or ‘his lovestick’ like please @ the people doing that I beg of you, cock isn’t a bad word okay

5.) Synonyms are your best friend, seriously there are only so many times you can say ‘gorgeous’ in a single smut trust me I know so make sure to switch things up from time to time

6.) It also helps to have someone proof any writing you do, including smut. It’s nice to have another set of eyes but like, ‘uh how exactly did her fingers end up in his ass again?’ because sometimes we get so damn excited writing and we’re in the flow of it, and forget to include some of the logistics of sex. 

As a last thing, as cliche of an answer it is, it really helps to just start writing. You don’t know what works best for you in terms of structuring things until you start doing it, you know? You don’t know how you prefer writing characters until you start writing them making out. It’s just a matter of putting a few words on the page … and a few of those words might happen to be ‘cock’.

things i wish i’d known before starting my writing account

if you’ve been thinking of making your own account here in the writing community, then this post is for you. it’s been nine months since i made the decision and discovered this pocket of instagram i never knew existed. this is a bit of an introductory post to a series i will be releasing over the course of the next few months that will be all about running your own writing account, from making posts to running contests to keeping up with it!

it’s so much larger than what’s on the surface

i’ll be honest, i didn’t even know a writing community was on a thing on instagram until i stumbled upon @leewritess’s account.

i don’t remember exactly how i found lee—maybe one of her posts appeared on my homepage one day or i was looking up accs in the search tab, idk—but i did and i realized that maybe there was something here for me. so, i went on to change my username to @queenie.the.writer and completely revamp my acc.

the first writing account to ever follow me was @writerstoauthors—we started our accs within a week of each other and elle definitely seemed to have a better grasp on what she was doing than i did so i reached out to her and asked for some tips. she was so nice and friendly and if it wasn’t for her i don’t think my acc would be where it is today.

all this being said, i didn’t really know the full scope and reach of the writing community until i started posting. full disclosure, i didn’t get the same welcome as most accs do, with story shoutouts and an overload of welcoming comments on their first post. i’m not bitter abt it or anything, but it is one of the reasons why i frequently shoutout new accs on my own story—i want to give others the warm welcome i didn’t necessarily get :)

suddenly, though, after the first few weeks, i found more and more writing accs and more and more found me. before i knew it, i was a part of an enormous, kind, and crazy community full of writers just like me.

you don’t owe anyone anything

don’t make your account for anyone but yourself. this is your outlet, your space and you should make it into something you love.

you have no obligations or boundaries of what you can post and when—this is all up to you!! if anyone ever tries to tell you differently, that’s their problem and you can send this post straight to their inbox.

when i started my account, i was riding on this rush and this mindset that the more content i pushed out the farther my account would go. i thought this way for the first three months of my writing acc, until i realized that maybe i needed to take a step back and look at it a different way.

i took a three week hiatus, and i didn’t feel guilty for doing it. the friends i made and literally everyone here supported my decision and assured me that they would be waiting for my return. and they were. when i came back, it was into the loving arms of this community that became a part of me and made me feel accepted like nothing else ever has.

so don’t be afraid to step away. you are what matters most, not your content or follower count or reach or anything else. remember that.

follower count isn’t everything

this mantra is often repeated through our community—and that’s bc it’s true. none of us care (or should care) about the number at the top of your acc. we all start small and it takes a long time for most to climb higher.

we’re all abt lifting ppl up here. this is why you can often see help cards floating around people’s stories to promote writing accounts they love, whether they be big or small.

i know it’s so so hard to remember, but it is one of the most important things to remember while running a writing acc. if you want the most out of your acc, instead of trying to expand your reach to unfamiliars, reach out to other creators. make friends. most of us have open dms and always appreciate random messages from fellow writers or readers!

the best part is the people

it’s still crazy to me that i have so many online friends who are also writers and love to read, but also have other things in common with me! the other writers of this community are truly what makes it so amazing and a wonderful place to begin with.

i always felt isolated and ostracized since writing wasn’t a cool or known hobby in the places i grew up. there were many times i thought of giving it up bc i was always told that being an author wasn’t a real job and you couldn’t make a living out of it.

but once i decided i was serious abt it, i found these people. these writers who could relate to me and i could relate to and face the same struggles and fangirl with and make crazy friendships with. you will eventually lose some friends here, but then you’ll make more and the ones you care abt and who care abt you will stick around for a long time. you can count on that <3

the support is unimaginable

LITERALLY EVERYONE IS JUST SO NICE OK.

we all understand how cruel the world is to creators and writers like us (i’m looking at you instagram) and we do everything possible to fight the unfairness of it all.

you can always count on your content being hyped up and everyone just supporting you no matter where you’re from or age or gender or sexuality or anything.

it’s one thing i love most abt the writing community. i’ve always felt accepted here, though i may not use my real name or share as many personal things / info with you guys.

final word

since making my account, i have not regretted it for a second. there’s no limit to the possibilities here nor the capacity for new writers. i hope this reaches some of you who have been debating joining writergram and maybe that it pushes you to do it. you can always stop if you don’t enjoy it! nothing has to be permanent and it should make you happy <3

i'm actually really happy to be back on tumblr after a whole sem. The sem was a shitshow and lots of things happened and so tumblr really was my route for escape when the sem finally wrapped up and i moved home from sch and had time to myself. It's been rough, recovering from all the mishaps in the semester, cleaning up all the shit i left behind w people i've decided to cut off contact with and etc. BUT i've gotten alot more vocal and daring ? To make friends here so that's really nice, to have a community back my ass up or at least be around when i need them. I've made so many new friends and some of them ive exchanged personals with, it feels like a fever dream and i dont know if i can bear to leave if the time comes.

That being said, how are you? have your works been helping you organise youe thoughts and feelings since you said they were your coping mechanism? are you taking care of yourself?
