Thinking about geto because I want to pour milk on him and throw him against the wall. Because he was one of 3 people given the ranking of "Special Grade", and he and satoru are grouped as "the strongest". And consider that satoru comes from a powerful clan and literally has some weird omniscience and invincibility shit going on so that's a whole fucking. That's gotta be a wild ego boost, especially for someone who comes from a family of ppl who aren't sorcerers. Like you spend all this time being a fuckin weirdo and then someone finds you and it turns out you're actually incredibly special and strong, given the same rank as a fucking God Child? You're gonna have some wild self perceptions after that

Anyway then you get to watch your invincible friend get stabbed, watch the girl you became friends with and feel shitty about kinda ruining the life of get shot, and get your whole shit rocked by some guy who can't even use the magic power bullshit you have. (Though he's got a whole physical thing going on because of the trade off)

Also writing all of this out actually makes me understand the Cult Leader progression more, like besides the fact they killed ur friend and you want em dead. You're probably struggling with your ego (especially since your weird God like friend got a whole power boost from the situation) so you create a fucking eugenicist cult where you can consistently prove your superiority to yourself (surrounding yourself with people who will agree with everything you say).

Anyway in a similar vein I wholely believe in "a loving father is not inherently a good father" Suguru + Nanako & Mimiko dynamic

Final thought is roughly I feel like looking at Suguru thru the lense of "this character had a level of privilege that they felt they truly deserved, and after experiencing events that are genuinely traumatic and horrific for any person, they develop reactionary beliefs to try and regain a sense of superiority and control" rather than "oppressed minority who killed oppressors and wants to do eugenics"

sux bc the problematic batch of tanktops is like. such a good light comfortable wicking all-natural fabric! that's why i wanted them and they're everything i hoped they would be! and they're genuinely not even overtly feminine! but the straps are just a little too narrow and the cut is just a little too )ᓑ( and it's like. in some contexts those things are bearable, but in others they're really just. anyway they are sufficiently slouchy that in theory i could probably just, like, do some aftermarket alterations to improve the shape??? like i think i really just need them to be, you know, simple tubes straight up and down and not the vaguely /ᓑ\ shape they currently are, which in theory ought to be simple enough to achieve (especially since they're also a little long, so i could just hem them straight and stop worrying about how to factor in the vaguely high-low thing that's also happening). however. probably NOT realistic to do by hand (like. if nothing else i just don't have the patience) and while there is a sewing machine kicking around here somewhere i absolutely don't remember how to use it and do live in fear of it (i just have like. vague recollections of various Mysterious Snarls back in the day). so. idk. blergh, argh, etc.

One quiet evening in The Rock-Afire Explosion’s residence, Earl saw the movie he was watching interrupted by a certain polar bear collapsing onto the couch behind him.

Earl watched as Beach Bear heaved a heavy sighed, confused at this sort of behavior from the usually energetic bear, “Huh, everything fine, Beach?”

“Hm? I mean, yeah,” replied Beach after a bit, “just had a tiring day today…”

“And whatever did you do that left you so tired?”

Beach shrugged. “Just helped everyone around a bit, y’know? Fatz needed my help changing a couple of lightbulbs in the stage, Mitzi went to the library and needed me to get the books on the higher shelves, and Billy Bob brought me shopping with him.”

Earl snickered a little, “Sounds to me like everyone took advantage of your tallness today.”

“Oh, definitely,” agreed Beach. “But meh, I don’t mind helping. It’s just a little tiring…”

“So you don’t mind being pushed around by everyone, is what I’m hearing,” said Earl.

“Says the one that’s made to climb into arcade machines when something isn’t right,” Beach shoot back.

Earl frowned. “Shut it, blondie.” Beach laughed. “But seriously, man, if I were as tall as you-”

“-A physical impossibility.”

Earl did his best to stare the other down, as Beach clearly held back snickers. “Tiredness brings out your smartassery huh?” Beach shrugged with a smile. “Whatever, as I was saying, if I were that tall, no one would ever push me around. One stare down is all it would take.”

Beach raised an eyebrow, “You think?”

“Pretty sure about it.” Earl went back to watch his movie. “Maybe you should try it.”

So that’s how, a few hours after that conversation, Beach rummaged around in the refrigerator, finding a few lonesome slices of pizza.

They weren’t his, he knew that. But he was hungry, he didn’t feel like cooking, and his conversation earlier with Earl gave him a confidence boost, so…

He heated them up, and went over to the couch to eat them, uncaring.

Dook and Mitzi, who were also in the living room, glanced over to him. “Uh… aren’t those Looney’s?” asked Dook.

“Oh, yeah?” Said Beach, with his mouth full, “well, they were all alone on the fridge.” He swallowed. “Finders keepers.”

Mitzi glanced at him. “He’s gonna be mad when he finds out…”

“Well, what’s he gonna do?” the polar asked. “He’s about the size of my forearm.”

Dook and Mitzi looked at each other, then went back to what they were doing.

It wasn’t long after that, light footsteps were heard coming down the stairs. That was followed by the noise of the refrigerator opening…

…And following that, there was a loud squawk of a voice, “Who ate my last piece of pizza?!”

“Beach Bear did it,” replied both Dook and Mitzi, before quickly stepping away from the couch.

They wanted no part in whatever was going to happen.

“Beach!” Looney came in, an angry frown in his face, sounding absolutely livid. "Why'd you eat my pizza?!"

In response, Beach Bear just stood up from the couch, arms crossing over his chest. He turned to Looney, grinning in a way that screamed ‘What are you gonna do?’

Now even angrier than before, Looney proceeded to hop onto the couch’s armrest, and before Beach could process it, the bird delivered a resounding ‘SLAP!’, which echoed around the house and made Beach drop back down on the couch.

Now under possession of the High Ground, Looney leaned over Beach, “Don’t you ever steal food from me, got it?”

Before he could respond, Looney jumped back down, muttering angrily under his breath as he walked towards the staircase leading to the basement, where he usually build stuff in.

The loud slamming of a door was heard afterwards, signaling when the furious bird reached to bottom.

There was a dead silence on the living room…

…And then, unable to help it anymore, Mitzi began giggling.

“It’s not funny,” grumbled Beach, raising a hand to his cheek.

This, naturally, only made the mouse laugh harder, and her contagious laughter soon reached Dook.

“It seriously isn’t!” Beach protested, as his friends continued to laugh.

“N-no, but it looked so funny,” Dook tried to explain between laughs, “like something out of a bad soap opera.”

“Literally just…” Mitzi clapped to tried to make her point across, then kept laughing.

Eventually, Beach began laughing as well, because, hey, he did have that one coming.

And he had to admit, now that he thought about it, it probably did look funny.

He sat straight against the couch, letting his friends flop down besides him.

“Why did you even think that was a good idea?” Mitzi inquired, after she calmed down a little.

“Well, Earl told me-”

“That was your mistake, you should never take advice from Earl,” Dook said, half jokey and half serious.

Mitzi nodded, “His ‘advice’ on how to deal with a bully is how I got my first ever detention.”

“Such a terrible fate for straight A student Mitzi,” joked Beach. Mitzi hit him lightly in the arm in retaliation. “Well, I’ll always remember this lesson…”

“Don’t listen to Earl,” said Dook.

“And don’t ever eat someone else’s pizzas,” completed Beach.

“By now, you should have known that stuff is sacred in this household,” Mitzi replied, and Beach had to admit she was right.

first of all: this is NOT directed at anyone in particular. this is not about anyone or anything anyone has done. this is me, a lesbian, having some dialogue with myself about representation and the way people think and talk and engage with fictional lesbians! this is not a blast on anyone, just general mindfulness, and wanting to work through some of my own hesitation abt things.

im having a difficult time engaging w the grander audience turning the boys into dykes, because i can never be sure where they’re coming from, yknow? like why i was hesitant to post before (it took me over a year to post my butch buddie silhouettes) and why im not sure if i want to post some other for-fun doodling ive done…

Honestly now that I'm learning more abt Reca and from the little fics I've read and art I've seen he's like.. not rlly in character in any of them imo..

I've commonly seen like “he'd get on his knees before you and praise you” or “he'd kiss the ground you walk on” or shit like that and it's like, maybe, but also not rlly no.. yes he's a loser but he's not like that?? At least to me?? From what I've seen of the 2.6 update so far, he just seems like.. a loser, as I said.. but not “worshipping a lover” kind of character.

Yes he's dramatic yes he's uh a little silly, but also can we not just make his character this weirdo and make that the only thing he's known for? I feel like characters that are a bit of freaks (in a weird way) are just turned into perverted weirdos a lot and it's just like :(( I feel like Reca is sm more than that and I mean idk.. this might just be me not liking this kind of thing.

How I see his character is yes, a big part of him is his love for film, that much is being said in the fandom, it's literally his speech and how he talks. He's this guy who's a renowned director, having a big dramatic flair — rolling his r's, bowing when we are first shown him, holding a hand out with the other behind his back when speaking— I could go on. He literally gags at a bad angle of the tb. I love the dramatic flair abt him sm.

And his voice — it fits his role of a director, one that's maybe a little bit of a weird freak — it's so him. But I feel like ppl are taking the weirdo freak abt his personality, making it the only thing abt him, and turning it into smut fics or just fics that all have a weird vibe to them (at least to me).

Ik it's common for characters to get mischaraterized but like .. Reca.. Reca my love. They're making him this weirdo that worships his lover, but I think he'd just be a loser for them. Head over heels for them, and praising them yes — but not to a worshipping level.

(I haven't actually finished 2.6 as of posting this but I just felt like posting my thoughts, and would rather not engage with any arguments of any kind abt this — this is only my opinion.)
