Trafalgar D. Water Law; Ideal Type Deep Dive

The first thing that comes to my mind is that audio - “ I need to find my darling husband!” “What do you see in that guy?” “He makes me laugh.”

Law absolutely needs to be with someone who can make him laugh.

Throughout the post time skip arcs, it has been shown that Law -

Has a fear surrounding accepting and giving love

Believes that there must be a reason for earning love/giving love to someone

Law’s character had the most development in Dressrosa and Wano that could propel him towards healing with the defeat of Doflamingo, the revenge of Corazon’s death, and the closure statement that Sengoku says to him: “Don’t try to find a reason for someone’s love.”

Law has to heal first, or have a partner that will help him heal. To me, Law wouldn’t even think of committing to a relationship until the end of Dressrosa/Wano.

Law surrounds himself with goofy people, so it makes sense for him to fall for a goofy person.

This person would probably be on his crew as his trust issues wouldn’t allow for him falling for someone that has other loyalties that could easily be prioritized over him and end up betraying him.

Law is strict about subordinate dynamics, which is why you being on his crew may also hinder him from wanting to pursue something with you because he’s supposed to be your boss essentially.

Law would want someone that is smart, textbook smart like he is, but I also see this not being important if he truly runs into the ‘one’ that brings him the most peace.

I mean by that if you can’t hold and add to a conversation about idk the anatomy of the human body and the effects of a certain ailment, you’re not totally disqualified from his radar.

Someone who could hold emotional conversations with him is good. Even if he probably wouldn’t want the conversation. He’s kinda icky with feelings. Someone that could tell him how he feels, how they feel, and how that changes the context of whatever situation they are in. He needs someone like that.

I used to be opposed to the thought, but I believe Law needs someone truly soft. That means you could still fight if needed, but would rather not yk. It’s okay if you’re not out here swinging a machete trying to bloody the streets with your foes. That aspect of humanity that you have is something Law needs more prevalently in his life.

I remember reading an analysis of Law’s type and the creator said something similar to “Law needs someone who wouldn’t pull the trigger, just like Corazon didn’t.” I don’t know how much I agree with it but I think it’s worth mentioning.

Someone patient, but stubborn. Someone who is willing to wait for him to be ready to accept his feelings and won’t leave him when he makes a mistake (trust me he will make many mistakes in a relationship). Someone who also won’t be an idle figure in situations, you have an opinion and will voice it even if it doesn’t agree with Law’s perspective. You think the crew should help him on something rather than wait on the submarine and him go off alone? Tell him and make him listen, even if he shuts you down.

Law needs someone positive that can look at things with a glass half full mindset. Someone who looks at the rain and thinks about how the plants are getting water, someone who watches the snow fall but are commenting about how Penguin and Sachi are making snow angles and Bepo is really comfortable in the temperature. You even out his pessimism and bring light.

You’d have to get along with the other crew mates, especially Bepo too. Bepo is so important to Law, and if Bepo didn’t like you it already taints Law’s image of you.

After reading some of the Law Novel, preferably someone with a goal in life. It doesn’t have to be a huge driving factor that you live day by day by. It could be something small that fluctuates daily or weekly or wtv. Someone that can strive towards a goal they set for themselves and gets a glint of determination in their eye. But it’s also okay if you’re not like this because this won’t deter him fully if you aren’t a driven person.

You were always kind to him. Even before he invited you onto his crew, he identified your nature and could make a note about how you’re different from the majority of people he’s met.

Preferably, you’d be goofy, but not too loud. I feel like Law gets uncomfortable around those that are crazy extroverted- kinda like Luffy. Sometimes it reminds him too much of the Donquixote Pirates with all their flamboyance. That doesn’t mean if you have this quality you’d be off the list, he would just need it in smaller chunks or around the crew to be acclimated to it.

Grr, someone that ends up reminding him of Rosinante. Someone that Law knows is just a good person, regardless of their past.

If he asked you “why do you love me?” And you couldn’t give him an answer, you’re perfect.

He needs someone to be his safe space. Someone that could sit in his office while he works, content in the shared silence. Someone that he could ramble about his coin collection to without the worry of being judged. Someone that he could let touch his chest and have them run their fingers through his hair without worry that he’ll be harmed. Someone that will soothe him after he has a nightmare or read out loud to him until he falls asleep.

Someone that cares for him- this loops back to the stubbornness. Someone that tries to make him go to sleep, to make him eat, to make him take breaks from working. To make him live happily, something that he’s starved himself of truly ever since he was 10. He prolly won’t act like it, but you showing you care for him makes his heart bleed suffocatingly.

Someone that can show him how to love again and what it feels like to love again omg. The destruction of Flevance and the manipulation of the Donquixote Pirates so cruelly changed his perception of love.

Law wouldn’t want you to be a big shot in canon. If your bounty was rather substantial compared to his crew and him, or you had a crazy ability- it would make him worry awfully. He’d probably try to keep you out of harms way even more than he does with the rest of his crew.

Someone he can tell everything to and trust that they’ll keep it a secret.

Someone that likes the cold, likes the ocean. Living on a submarine as a pirate kinda requires this lol.

Omg imagine you’re from the North Blue too. He picks you up around the same time he does Penguin, Sachi, and Bepo. You’re one of the original members. The connection I feel like he would have with you would make him more willing to fall for you…

I feel like Law would like someone with longer hair. If he could watch them brush it, curl it around his finger, watch them create a hairstyle for the day. Small acts of domesticity in life.

Someone with large, doe eyes. He can see so much emotion through them, they hold so much weight. It reminds him of Bepo. (lol)

Someone aware of their own emotions and are in tune with their wants and needs.

I feel like he would fluster really easily if you had a gummy smile. Yk those big, pure smiles where the gums showed. When your eyes crinkly and your teeth are bared so naturally and without malice. It’s so beautiful to see.

Warlords; Involved With A Warlord That’s A Former Slave

A/N: established romantic relationship (well as romantic as u can get with some of these guys..) Takes place before the Warlord system was abolished. I had a hard time writing this without it sounding too ooc so if u have a different thought abt how some of these warlords would react pls comment and lemme know! I was gonna include Blackbeard but lowkey idek how he’s react I don’t understand him that well and I have free will to not write abt that lil hoe

Dracule Mihawk: Mihawk was approached by you initially before the two of you became involved with each other. Your abilities and admirable Haki gained you some respect from Mihawk. Particularly your fighting style was something that stood out to him, and he was interested to understand your potential more throughly.

Mihawk’s stoicism and general lack of public presence fit your needs well. Due to Mihawk’s perceptive nature, I’d wager he had suspicions that something happened between you and the World Government because of your obvious aversion to them. Though, lots of people don’t like the World Government, especially pirates so I don’t see him bringing it up unless he was too curious.

Assuming you keep the slave branding covered, Mihawk would only ever see it if you willingly present it to him. I don’t really think that the dynamic between you two will change once he knows. He would probably be more accommodating for you at Muggy Kingdom and understands your character better than he did previously. He himself has his own issues with the World Government and for his partner to be a victim of the conditions that they set up definitely increases his loathing of the world government.

Bartholomew Kuma: (small disclaimer I’m not too familiar with Kuma’s character either..) Kuma was probably hesitant to become involved with you due to his own enslavement to the World Government both previously and in terms of being a pacifista cyborg as well as being a revolutionary member. Though through small, private interactions over the course of numerous years the two of you had developed a bond.

Once Kuma put his trust in you and knew that while you were a Warlord and pirate; you were also a rare, good person, he was willing to risk confiding in you. He didn’t tell you everything, just a little bit about himself so you were aware of his mixed life. It prompted you to reveal your own checkered past and sorta showed him how similar people become after being affected by the World Government.

You had told him about your previous status as a slave. I feel like Kuma would be disheartened to hear about another’s enslavement, but he would also be able to empathize with you more than most anyone else in the world (as well as he can for a cyborg..) At most I feel like he can only offer you words and wouldn’t be able to take any action for you. Though his tender empathy, even at a distance, is comforting to you.

Donxuiquote Doflamingo: (literally the worst reaction you could ever hope for. I’m sorry but to me I feel like telling him this is the equivalent to saying that you have a D middle initial in your name. He WILL tweak I promise)

Your relationship with Doflamingo is akin to a give and take rather than an actual companionship. Though there might be what he thinks is love present on his side, it only ever harms you and even others at times. His love is more reflective of a child roughly playing with his favorite toy no matter how tattered it gets. You’re his favorite yes, but for how long? When will he notice the cracks in your paint coating? Or the chipped pieces of your frame?

He was attracted to your abilities and wanted to form an alliance. This alliance did benefit your crew, and granted you more political influence in the world. (Though, I feel like Doflamingo would try to make it physical between the two of you.)

Doflamingo figuring out that you were a former slave wasn’t intended by you. You had wanted to keep that a secret from him as long as you could. You didn’t know how he would react, but you didn’t think it would be good. And it wasn’t good, when he saw the burn seared into your back. The whole world stopped for a moment, nothing heard except your shaky breaths. I feel like this would go either two ways.

Doflamingo would be disgusted. He would feel cheated. How dare you be branded by something other than him, is what he would ask himself. He used to own slaves. He technically still does with his citizens of Dressrosa. He knows their lack of worth, their use to him and his mind would clash that version of inferiority with you instantly. To him, you were less than before but now you’re just a fake pretending to be human and pretending to be stronger than you really are. I feel like his reaction would be violent towards you and he would call off the progression of your alliance immediately.

The other way I see it going (and it’s kinda sick in my mind) is that Doflamingo would feel a new type of ownership over you. He used to authorize people to get that branding on your back. He’d feel like you were reminiscent of his past and his former birth right. I feel like he might try to coax you into becoming a slave for him under the pretense of sympathy and understanding. This would be him playing the long game, trying to break you down enough mentally for you to be dependent on him and he would be able to use you however he wanted. He would also use this information against you too, threatening to reveal it to the public or the government officials. Even worse, the celestial dragons so they could come and take you back.

Hancock Boa: (lowkey I feel like she’s incapable of falling for someone other than Luffy presently but we can ignore that) Boa would only ever try to pursuit a relationship if you had treated her the same way Luffy treated her. If you had shown her a lack of lust and instead genuine affection or kindness, she would be down so bad.

One big milestone in the development of your relationship with Boa was her revealing her own personal enslavement. She told you in desperation of a connection of trust and to try to prove that she wasn’t worthy of you. She was utterly shocked when you turned around and bared your own identical marking to her.

It would cause the two of you to have an intimate bond beyond anything sexual. You validated her and her sisters’ worth and existence. You also showed her that the mark didn’t have to be something to fear and that she could rely on you. I think she would fall in love with you like how she did with Luffy and would defy the World Government not just for herself and her empire anymore, but for you as well.

Jimbei: I feel like Jimbei would pursue someone with a clear moral scale and have ideals that align with him. (Though he’d probably prefer fishmen so like if you’re human he might not be looking at you like that..) You were an honorable pirate and someone that Jimbei was able to communicate with beyond Warlord meetings. The Sun Pirates would most likely notice the chances of an alliance forming between them and your crew given the praises Jimbei has given you.

It was on an island of neutral ground for the two of you, enjoying the isolation and conversing with one another when it happened. You told Jimbei of your previous enslavement and showed him your branding. It wasn’t really prompted, maybe you wished for Jimbei to talk of the important history of the Sun Pirates and Fisher Tiger. The slavery of fishmen was woven between the threads of the creation of the Sun Pirates. It was a safe space, Jimbei makes you feel safe, so once Jimbei was done talking, you opened up.

Jimbei would feel sympathy for your mark and your story. But he’s also someone who would be quick to acknowledge your strength to overcome it and persevere to the status of Warlord of your own pirate crew. Jimbei ran a hand over the mark softly before thinking of something. He offered to give you the Sun Pirates’ marking over it.

Trafalgar Law: Law wouldn’t be looking for a relationship until possibly after he is able to complete his goal of avenging Corazon by defeating Doflamingo. Plus you were a warlord with your own crew, so the trust he gave you was scarce if he gave you any at all.

Though, if he did align with your pirate crew and you helped him in his goal he’d have a considerable amount of trust and loyalty towards you for the duration of the alliance. Through this, the two of you gradually became a little closer to each other, divulging in stories of the past and history in the small free time you had. Though you weren’t together and neither of you would mention the kindles of what could perhaps be something more between the two of you.

One late night, you let it slip that you were a former slave. Law paused momentarily before acting unaffected. A silence fell over you two for a couple moments before he mentioned that you were free now. To which you responded with a smile. It wasn’t brought up again, and your alliance ended after the events of Dressrosa.

Gecko Moria: (guys I don’t like him) Hm. I feel like he would approach you first. Especially in his youth because he was more of a confident pirate before he faced off with Kaido. He had taken a liking to your appearance and your abilities were well suited for tasks in his opinion. I feel like he would propose an alliance with an ultimate goal of obtaining your power for his motives.

I thinks relationship with him would be another one based on mutual contentment, you scratch his big back, he scratches yours. Though, over time I think he would become loyal to you and care for you of his own will, not for the sake of the alliance.

He found out about your enslavement through one of his nosy underlings, maybe Perona. It would reason that you and her were at least acquaintances. I don’t think this would change much for Moria, though he might try to express sympathy for you. Perhaps he might bring it up in hopes you talk about your past to him so he can know more about you and what you’ve endured. He is caring to those who he considers family, and he would be willing to consider you that.

Crocodile: Crocodile was most likely approached by you. Though being the business man that he is, the only form of entanglement he would engage in would be through a mutual alliance of some sort.

Time may change the context of your alliance with him, and your relationship could grow into something that loosely resembles a carrying couple. Yet while Crocodile has his own secrets you aren’t privy to, he doesn’t enjoy you hiding ones from him, especially if it affects business.

You told him you would tell him a secret if he told you what happened to his hand. It was the amount of whiskey you had earlier in the evening talking, but Crocodile always became rather amused with your drunken ramblings. He made you go first.

He was rather surprised when you told him that you used to be a slave. You had covered your past so well. You were always dressed luxuriously, you surrounded yourself and your crew with powerful people, and you had this air of unassailable confidence that he always wanted to control. It just didn’t fit you, being a slave. When he asked about the marking, you replied that you got surgery to remove it and replace the skin graft of the area it was covering. He could tell you hated that part of your past, and hated the World Government and Celestial Dragons even more. You told him you would wring his neck if he publicized it. Puffing his cigar in your face, he mused before taking a deep sigh and told you about the story of his hand.

Roronoa Zoro; Watching

A/N: I don’t know what this is. Your first kiss with Zoro, happens right after Thriller Bark. Reader and Zoro are not in a relationship yet.

Zoro is a watcher. He’s always observing. Even when his eyes are closed and he’s feigning disinterest, he’s hearing all that’s happening and feeling the shift in the atmosphere.

He watched you when you first joined the crew. He noticed the way you clasped your hands together in your lap with practiced class. He took note of how your shoulders still carried tension when Sanji would serve you a beverage. He was aware of the alert look in your eye, the way they would linger when you were interested in Nami’s ‘Map of the World’ in progress.

When you first kissed him, he was watching. He had just woken up from the events of Thriller Bark. Everything hurt. The bandages that adorned his body were the only thing that separated his skin from your head that was resting on his stomach. Zoro picked his head up to identify the weight on top of him. His eyes had barely adjusted to the brightness of the world before the focused on you. You were still asleep. He laid his head back down.

How long had you been there? You were in different clothes than the ones he last saw you in. The ones that were ripped to shreds and stained with your blood. You had your fair share of bandages as well. The bridge of your nose had a band aid on it. The shoulder closest to him was wrapped securely, no doubt Chopper’s work.

He hadn’t been near you until the end of the Thriller Bark excursion, what with him having his shadow taken- he was considerably busy. When was the last time he saw you? It was just before Kuma appeared in front of the crew, you were the first crew mate he ran into. No. It was after nothing had happened. You were leaning against the cook. Through the blood covering his face and the blur of his eyesight he could barely distinguish the look of concern across the pair of faces in front of him before he fainted.

When he craned his neck to look at you again, Zoro was met with your eyes. You gasped, lifting your head from his abdomen to hover over him.

“Zoro?” It barely came out as a whisper. He grunted.

“Where’s everyone?” His voice was gruff and hoarse with disuse. It hurt to talk.

“They’re getting ready to leave soon. Franky and Usopp are making a memorial for Brooke’s old crew right now. He joined the crew by the way,” You muttered. Zoro wasn’t surprised.

“We were waiting for you to wake up. Chopper stepped away to have lunch but he’ll be here in a couple minutes.” You added. Zoro took a deep breath and closed his eyes again.

His skin began to crawl. “I can feel you staring at me.” He popped his right eye open to meet your gaze. “How long have I been asleep?” He didn’t want to know.

“This makes the third day.”

“That’s too long.” He murmured before making an effort to sit up. Your shoulders tensed from their relaxed position fiercely as you placed your hands on his chest to halt his movement. He looked at you again. Your concern was written in the creases of your brows.

“No. You aren’t going anywhere until Chopper gets back.” Your voice was firm, but there was something else lilting the edge of your tone.

Regardless, he dropped it and laid back down. His body was too stiff to be able to muscle you out of the way to get up. You kept one of your hands on his chest, the other going to rest on your knee and you sat in your shins next to his bed. You were still tensed, but the unfocused gaze on your face signaled that you were in deep thought.

Zoro huffed. You looked at him again, understanding what his golden eyes were asking you.

“What happened to you? How are you still alive?” There was a crack in your voice. Zoro blinked. The pain in his body spiked for a moment as he made a grunt. How was he alive?

“Nothing happened. It doesn’t matter.”

“I thought you were going to die. That you would be lost, forever!” You snapped, more sorrow than anger clipping your voice. Zoro maintained eye contact. Big, round eyes that conveyed so much emotion stared back at him. There was a vulnerability that Zoro almost didn’t want to be exposed to within your eyes. Almost. The intensity of your gaze reminded him of a doe.

“Lost?” He echoed.

“It doesn’t matter?” You echoed back.

Silence filled the room. Zoro sighed. The ache in his body ebbed just a tad. You dug your nails into his chest ever so slightly before releasing the tension in your body, sighing as well.

The soft clap of hooves could be heard down the hall. You look to the distance, then back at Zoro. Slowly, you lean down. At first he thought you were going to whisper something, but the press of your lips he felt against his forehead proved him wrong. Zoro set his jaw at the touch. It was soft, kind, unexpected. You pulled back.

“You’re lucky you’re awake now. There’s still some booze from the party left for you.”

You pushed up to your feet as Chopper entered Zoro’s vision. He watched your figure, drowning out Chopper’s questions about the redness in his face until he couldn’t see you any longer.

Mihawk would like someone that matches his dark and aloof aura

Mihawk is rather disengaged and bored of just about everything in life, but his lover is the one thing that he is engrossed by. I’m talking obsession, like a couple that’s too in love with each other that no one else is in the room with them.

Mihawk would be drawn to something with intense, dark features like darker hair and eyes. Sucker for lipstick, any shade of red. Black lipstick is one of his favorites too.

Mihawk would need to be with someone that can hold their own. His partner needs to be able to fight and be strong enough to defend themselves in a majority of scenarios.

Mihawk lives for thrill whether he admits it or not. His partner and him in a wild love chase *chef’s kiss*. Someone who can match his ‘cat and mouse’ energy and be frisky with him. Someone that likes to mess around with him and ignite their relationship. Be that some caresses then a smooth exit out the door or challenging him to something, he’s following you as soon as you’re out of his sight.

Mihawk would love long length dresses. Something that screams regality and empowers his lover and makes them look beautiful.

I see Mihawk as being a sucker for teasing. Your gown has a deep v neck and your cleavage is exposed perfectly? He’s looking. There’s a thigh split in your skirt or dress? He’s looking. Your corset hugs your waist and accentuates your hips. He’s looking and feeling you up. Whisper something in his ear, give him a long moment of intense eye contact, rub your hand along his chest then exit the room. He loves loves loves it!! He loves it all I cannot stress enough he’s transfixed by his lover for life.

Mihawk most likely wouldn’t want someone clingy, but someone obsessed with him. There’s a fine line and it’s easy it blur it. Whining about how he’s been gone from Muggy Kingdom and made you feel kinda lonely might come across as irritating if he heard it too many times. Someone who could keep themselves busy until he returns and grab him by his coat collar and tell him that he spent too much time away from the island is more enticing to him and makes him just as obsessed as his lover. (I really hope that made sense)

Mihawk likes someone that can banter with him too. Someone that can flirt with him whether it’s just them in the room or a whole navy fleet. Someone bold and confident in themselves, that loves themselves maybe a bit too much.

(Literally just imagine a scene with you and Mihawk exchanging flirtatious eye contact while fending off against marines and yall end up right next to each other and just as the last marina drops he grabs ahold of you and whispers another love confession against your lips omfg..)

Mihawk would want someone that is well rounded. Someone who knows the way the world works and has a good brain underneath all their beauty. Someone cunning enough to scam a poor barkeeper out of their berri but compassionate enough to feed the stray cats of the town. Someone that can hold a conversation with him of the best wines or whiskey and defend their favorites against his own.

Someone with manners. Mihawk appreciates couth people that talk with an air of knowledge and slyness and can read through the lines of marine propaganda. Mihawk needs some romance in his relationship, there must be love and trust, not just looks and lust.

Mihawk would pour his whole being into a relationship and needs that to be reciprocated. While he might be nonchalant, he can still be dedicated. People may know of his lover, they may not. He doesn’t really speak upon it but won’t deny it if someone were to bring it up.

Someone that was also a pirate would suit Mihawk. They can handle being away from him for long periods of a time, they can defend themselves and have connections to powerful people (shanks imagine you knew shanks outside of Mihawk’s rivalry with him). He would never entangle with a marine, he has a strong hatred for them because of his past. A civilian that hasn’t led a tumultuous life wouldn’t be best prepared for whatever hardships may come Mihawk and his love’s way.

Someone who knows how to dance!!! Oml imagine dancing with Mihawk and not js white girl dancing I’m talking duo romantic dances. Theres romance, there’s sexual tension, there’s a bond that flows between y’all’s bodies.

Someone with desire in them. Lemme explain, someone that can go a couple months without his help sexually, but craves him so bad when they finally reunite they can have a passionate session once alone. Someone to match his romantic freakiness.

Mihawk would want his partner to have a healthy relationship with sex. Sex is an act of devotion, and whether him and his love engage it 0 or 3 times a day, he wants both of them to enjoy it to the fullest.

Mihawk would prolly want his lover to be morally grey. If he kills someone and you get mad at him for it, yall won’t work out. There are exceptions to this, and he can easily change his ways if that’s what his lover coaxed him to do though. But if he retells how he hunted down Don Kreig’s whole pirate fleet because they awoke him from his nap, he can’t have you try to slap him and give him a lecture on how he’s a heartless murderer (bc he is a heartless murderer).

Mihawk is loyal, and it’s a given he would expect that back. No matter how long yall are apart, no one else should satisfy you in the ways a lover should because trust ain’t no one doing that for him.

Someone who loves food, he’s quite a good cook and frequents the Baratie. The Baratie is well accustomed to serving the two of you on your monthly date (oml I should write a blurb abt Sanji tryna make moves on you while Mihawk watches in amusement looking all smitten or smth lmao).

Mihawk would prefer his lover to have a calm rationale. If his lover starts freaking out and screaming over something inconvenient or starts harsh arguments over miscommunications the relationship is doomed to fail.

Someone that is a gossip lol. Read the news and try to theorize why Alabasta was featured twice and the first time it mentioned the Warlord Crocodile’s casino having a river around it bc it’s Alabasta and it hasn’t been raining there in months apparently. Some fun stuff like that haha.

Zoro has often tried to deny his body’s reaction to you, but the heat that rises throughout his body when you call him, ‘big guy’ is so sinfully strong it challenges his self discipline.

He hasn’t told you how much the name affects him. Considering you use it sparingly, he’s under the impression you’re not aware of it either.

As he laid on his back sprawled out on the bed, Zoro couldn’t help but turn his head just far enough so that he could see you out of his lone eye. You were resting against him, using his arm as a headrest while you sunk lower and lower into the sea of dreams.

You looked peaceful. You looked vulnerable too, with your neck exposed to him so casually- he could smell your scent from the lack of distance between the two of you. The trust you displayed before him without effort, even in sleep, stirred a sigh from him.

Zoro eyed the beaded string dangling from your neck. It was the same necklace you wear everyday. You wore it that day too, the day you first called him ‘big guy’.

In Sabaody, Zoro just had a rather confusing encounter with some whack job wearing a glass bubble on his head and that pirate chick who doused him in ketchup. Though he kept walking, he couldn’t shake the growing sense of confusion that was slowly swirling in his belly like a butterfly.

He had seen you just up ahead of him in what looked to be the beginnings of a fight with two guys. He watched you slap the guy on your left. Zoro grimaced slightly before heading over to you. He’d received one of those slaps before and he knew they hurt.

He also knew that you could take these two, but that didn’t mean he didn’t want a piece of the action. You had one guy in a choke hold before a thudding sound came from your side. Turning sharply, you were met with Zoro clinging to one of his sheathed swords and the other guy on the ground.

“Well look who it is, my savior.” You joked while letting go of the limp man in your hold.

Zoro looked you over silently before putting his sword back and splaying his hands on his hips,“Not saying it’s wrong, but whatcha doing starting a brawl in the middle of the street? Ain’t your style.”

You deadpanned before responding, “Suppose it doesn’t matter,” You crossed your arms over your chest, “What are you doing away from the crew?”

“I could ask you the same question.”

You smacked your teeth. “Aye, it’s a good question indeed. Let’s walk to back yeah?”

The two of you walked a good distance before you mumbled, “Those,” you breathed heavily, “Those dogs said some stuff. Stuff that only gets said to you when you’re someone like me.”

From the way you said it, Zoro understood that you didn’t want to talk about it more. He couldn’t outright guess what they said, but he had a few hints. After all, you were a pirate, down to the definition of the word. It showed too- in the way you talked, the way you thought.

Suddenly, you swiped at his shoulder.

“It’s all golden though, after all, I got a big guy like you here for me yeah?” The way you said it like a secret only he could hear stumped Zoro a bit.

It was said like a promise, that you just knew that Zoro would be there to protect you. It was said with trust, cruel trust that spelled ruin if it was broken.

Zoro casted a glance at you only to be met with your own staring back at him. They looked like they were searching him for confirmation. Though, the way your pupils softened and became more mellow looked more like pleading.

A violent blush overcame his face as Zoro looked forward sharply, “Tch, it’s not like I’m gonna fight your battles for you. Grow up a bit will ya?”

You barked a laugh at his reaction, “Awh, what’s wrong with you? You look like you just saw Hel herself.”

Zoro coughed, “Who?”

“Ah, she’s one of the Old Gods. My parents told me her story and all the rest. She’s the one I chose to worship.”

Right. On your former ship, the crew worshiped the ‘Old Gods’. You didn’t talk about it much, though it wasn’t uncommon to see you partake in a prayer or a ritual of sorts. If he recalled, Zoro could remember you talking about them to Robin.

“But I believe in all of them.” You muttered, more to yourself than him. “Where are we heading?”

Zoro grunted, relieved that his face didn’t burn as much as before. “Grove one.”

“Aye, Grove one.”

Messy Thoughts - Fandom Authors’ Characterization of Trafalgar Law: Meal Time

A reoccurring situation or trope I see in Law fics is the one where he locks himself in his room to study or work and skip dinner.

Nothing’s exactly wrong this. It’s a good prompt, it is easy to write as angst/comfort, it sets reader up in a good dynamic to be looking out for his health and what not, and it’s not that unrealistic given the manga/anime’s showing of his character.

It’s not that unrealistic until you read Law’s light novel.

In the light novel, it is made so clear that during Law’s teenage years living on Swallow Island with Wolf, Shachi, Penguin, and Bepo that eating together is important.

Law states multiple times throughout the first three chapters that eating together (breakfast and dinner) helps bring and keep them close because they are so busy independent from each other during the day. Law enjoys eating with people, it makes him happy.

I think that this would transfer to their lifestyle on the Polar Tang as well. I don’t see Law not putting an effort to have his crew eat and bond together. I also don’t see Law neglecting his own personal health like that for the sake of studying/working. His friends wouldn’t allow that either, they all care about each other too much to let one of them stop eating the necessary meals during the day.

So, no hate to the people that include this in their works, it’s just something I can never see happening anymore after reading Law’s novel.

Blackleg Sanji; Baratie Headcanons

Sanji spends a good deal of his free time in the kitchen even if he isn’t preparing meals or snacks. Sometimes he’ll take inventory over his food supplies thrice over in one sitting just to make sure he has everything the crew needs.

Sanji doesn’t smoke in the kitchen. He feels as though it is unprofessional, contaminates his materials and workspace, and hurts the atmosphere of the kitchen. Zeff taught him this because when he started to smoke the first time he did so in the kitchen Zeff caught him and smacked him red in front of the customers.

He started smoking because he wanted to seem like a man and impress Zeff (we know this) but it more so stems from him not wanting to be a helpless child and wanted control over himself which he was stripped of during his time at germa.

Sanji absolutely despised the taste of his cigarettes. He still does to some extent. But he when the nicotine filled his lungs it began to bring a sense of calm over him which helped him not have to deal with his trauma and anxiety.

Has smoked over two packs in a day multiple times before. It gets like this around his birthday. Zeff used to have to hide all cigarettes in the Baratie from Sanji.

Zeff gave Sanji his lighter because he wanted Sanji to look more professional and told him, ‘if you’re gonna smoke like a man, you need a man’s lighter.’

Tried cigars, it affected him much more than cigarettes and Zeff banned him from using them.

Wasn’t taught by any of the other cooks how to flirt, it came very natural for him. He absolutely crashes and burns if he gets flirted with back.

Has swooned a total of 4 girls in his years at the Baratie:

The first girl had only gone to chaste kisses and light caresses before the cooks found them in the bathroom.

The second was a little too tipsy and Sanji stopped anything from happening when she tried pressing herself all over him and grabbing him in the dining room.

The third one looked old enough to go to be his mother and gave him a blowjob before he freaked out and ran away from her before things escalated (he wasn’t ready and gets nightmares about it still).

The fourth girl was the first time he had ever properly touched a female but it was only some fingering and heavy making out before she pushed him off of her, thanked him for passing time with her, and walked out.

Is well acquainted with the Baratie regulars. Has spoken to Mihawk a good amount of times, knows the type of wine he requests. Gets freaked out by his sharp stare when he turns his back to him though. (Mihawk IS a regular.)

Has gotten into multiple cook offs with the other chefs, but always loses according to Zeff (Zeff’s the final judge).

The curl of his eyebrow forms a little heart inside of the big swirl. Tried shaving off the curl of his eyebrow but it grows back that way. Patty told him to stop trying to get rid of it so he did.

Zeff has added some of Sanji’s dishes to the regular menu, Sanji cries each time he sees the newest addition. Zeff never acknowledges it.

When he was being taught how to fight by Zeff, his perfect practice often became troublesome customers. Zeff encouraged it so much which is why up till he left Sanji was the most likely to get into a fight with customers.

Has scammed a good amount of berri from some of the marines that visit if we’re being honest. If he doesn’t like their attitude, he will up their bill significantly. Has gotten called out on this multiple times. Denies it every time.

Zeff bought him his first suit and taught him how to tie a tie. Wore the suit more than a chef’s uniform and apron, never bought him another suit. (Sanji’s obsession with suits got even worse).

Called Zeff dad a handful of times. Each time he would stop and look away for a long second before walking off. He usually went to a spot to cry. It stunned Zeff at first, but then the last couple of times it happened Zeff followed and sat with Sanji until he stopped crying.

Sanji hasn’t told Zeff about his past. The most he mentioned was his mother. Zeff often wonders what happened for a kid to be so traumatized.

Sanji would have nightmares and wake up either screaming or crying when the Baratie first opened up. Zeff would always have to sit by his bedding until he calmed down. Sanji would cry more if any of the other chefs came in.

Has spent so much time on sea that he walks diagonally for a hot minute when he gets on land. Would stumble a lot more on land if his legs weren’t so strong. Has very good sea legs, practically born with them.

French is his mother tongue and it’s the native language of Germa. He was taught English because it’s the most common language among the four blue seas but he had a thick accent when he was young. Zeff couldn’t understand him sometimes when he spoke.

Sanji often refers to food by their French name.

Sanji almost got completely rid of his accent because he felt as though it tied him to Germa. It comes out when’s he aroused or angry though. One time a girl said his French sounded sexy, but he’s on the fence when he’s flirting or trying to dirty talk to let his natural voice and accent come out, sometimes speaking full sentences in French. Regardless, it annoys the shit out of Zeff.

Nico Robin + Franky; Duo Headcanons

Slow burn. Franky gets flustered when he thinks about how he likes Robin so he doesn’t bring it up. Robin knows, Robin feels the same way but doesn’t get the same type of ‘freeze’ flustered as he does. She’s waiting for him to confess first because Franky feels like it’s the most manly thing for him to do.

Franky builds Robin furniture for her to lounge in periodically. He also upgrades her chairs with modifications to make it more comfortable for her like adding a moving arm that brings forward her drink, etc.

Robin has gotten Franky to read a couple of books and they chat at least a couple times a week about it.

Franky is Robin’s #1 hype man when it comes to fashion or fighting. (Sanji’s in second place and not too far behind though.) Franky has a habit of building a set of stairs extremely quickly during battles for Robin to get around if she’s in heels.

If Franky is tinkering sometimes Robin will sit in his shop with him to keep him company if she doesn’t want to be out on the deck anymore. If the weather isn’t appropriate, she reads in his workshop.

Robin likes all the different hairstyles that Franky is able to with his hair but she prefers it to be the same style as when they met.

Robin is perched on Franky’s huge shoulders more often than you would think. Franky likes carrying her if the crew is traveling afoot and she doesn’t mind.

When Sanji asks her for her daily mid afternoon snack, whatever she requests is usually paired up with a cola for Franky.

Robin helps Franky with his robotic parts when he needs to upgrade or replace them with her devil fruit.

Franky’s words at Enies Lobby make Robin feel good and grateful about life; sometimes when she’s losing her motivation she recalls what he said to her.

She also commonly goes to him and soaks up his vibrant energy to feel better.

Robin likes cats, Franky has made her a cyborg cat that lives in the library below deck.

On occasion Robin will paint Franky’s metal nails with her nail polish.

Franky helps Robin with scribing all her knowledge into journals and books. She has a photographic memory and a vast collection of schema- she remembers a great deal about the books that were burned on Ohara.

Franky has been caught by multiple Straw Hats staring at Robin on deck. He doesn’t ever deny anything, he just blushes, says something stupid, and leaves as quickly as he can.

Franky has given Robin multiple massages with his little hands before. It clams her immensely and it’s a trusting, intimate act between the two of them.

A/N: post timeskip, confirmed relationship with reader and Zoro. Reader loves wine. I literally wrote a mini story inside of this one bc I got carried away and was like ‘wait. This isn’t the plot.’

A singular golden eye followed the glass lifted to your lips as you closed your eyes and tilted your head back. In a smooth motion, Zoro watched as the wine went down your throat. It was thick, tartier than the wine that you tasted just before.

The cellar the two of you were in was cozy, with only a few rows of barrels. It was just about dark in the room, save for the lamps lit at the ends of the hall that painted your body in a warm, rustic light. It made Zoro’s body buzz, and with each swig of alcohol he takes the more inclined he’d become to act on it.

Zoro had suggested trying out the drinks as the two of you walked through the town looking for something to occupy your time as The Sunny stopped for restocking. And who were you to turn down some wine?

This shop had been around since the town was created, the shop keeper had said. He went on about it as he led you and Zoro down a set of steps to the underground room of wine barrels before promptly disappearing.

Opening your eyes, you met Zoro’s intense gaze. You pressed your lips together before deciding.

“6.”

Zoro’s lip curved with a small scoff as he shook his head lightly. He reached for the glass and eagerly downed the rest of it. Though, he wasn’t as neat as you. A line of deep red was slowly making its way down his jaw before you brought your finger to halt its tracks.

You softly sucked the remaining wine from your finger before sighing, “7.”

“Damn, only worth one point?” Zoro’s voice held more a more challenging tone than a defeated one. He was staring at your lips, “It’s a 9.”

You giggled, “Of course it’s just about perfect to you. After all, booze is booze right?” Zoro cracked a toothy smile at that. He wouldn’t say it out loud, but his chest burned harshly with something he dare not name when you proved how well you knew him.

“Well, it certainly isn’t that way to you. ‘Ms. I only drink wine because I’m too good for anything else.’” There was no real bite in his words, evident through the way Zoro hooked his right arm around your waist and brought you closer. The lack of the shop keeper’s presence added to the sultry atmosphere.

“Come now, I was made from love and wine. I have to be picky about my liquor or my parents would be disappointed, savvy?” You wrapped your arms around his neck, lightly brushing those earrings of his with your fingers.

Zoro grunted, “Yeah yeah, savvy.”

Your other hand made its way to the base of this hair and began to massage the area. He made another deeper grunt, enjoying the attention as he allowed his eye to close and just feel.

He felt the swirl of the wine in his belly, the warmth of your body against his, the delightful pressure your finger tips brought against the back of his head.

Zoro liked wine. The buzz he got from wine was always different than any other booze. It was more calm, more diluted than the harsh, dizzying buzz he was accustomed to with his cheap sake. On some nights, you have even convinced him it’s a more pleasant buzz.

The solace brought by the embrace was cut short as you paused your movements and leaned back. When he opened his good eye, Zoro saw you assessing another barrel lying on the rack to his right. And just like that, you spun from his hold to approach the barrel.

“Bring the glass over big guy.” You called over your shoulder while tapping at the barrel. Zoro followed, not straying more than a foot from behind you. He liked that nickname. It was one of the first you gave him, way back when nothing and everything happened. When the old had met the new, he remembered the first time you called him that.

He didn’t have time to reminisce over it though, as you quickly moved out of the way for the dark liquid to come flowing out of the barrel. Shooting out his hand, Zoro caught the wine in the glass.

Capping the barrel once more, you turned with fervor in your eyes, “Ladies first.” The glistening smile upon your face made Zoro’s face heat up.

Your eyes narrowed, and he knew you saw the blush. He clenched his teeth together and looked away from you to avoid any comment. With another giggle, you took the glass from Zoro and brought it to your lips once more.

This wine was not as thick as the previous one you tried, but still plenty rich. The tang was prominent, however what was more notable was the fruitiness that slid along your tongue. You hummed with delight, this was your type of wine.

“A damn 8, easily.” You held the glass out to your lover, “Might I?”

Zoro found a flittering sense of amusement as he assumed that the wine was rather sweet and fruity based on your rating of it. Though you’d been drinking wine your whole life and were no novice in the wine world- in fact it was the only alcohol you drink- you still appreciated the sweeter wines to the tartier wines. Which in Zoro’s experience, makes you a diamond in the rough.

His mind would often bring back the haunting similarities between you and a certain swordsman he’s grown entangled with. Though, your eyes never held that glowing, predatory glare that his own have permanently sculpted through the throws of daunting yellow.

Zoro sucked in a breath, the deep maroon of his cheeks pairing well with his tan skin and the lighting of the cellar. He stepped a space closer, parting his mouth. You raised to the edges of your boots and tipped your hand, allowing the rest of the drink to fill his mouth before you stopped. Landing back on the flat of your shoes, you eyed Zoro.

He closed his mouth and swallowed every drop, staring right back at you. The taste was sweet for Zoro, not that you would think it actually was sweet. Yet it was a sweetness he longed for. It tasted like you.

“What do you think?” Your voice was hushed.

Zoro’s eye gazed between your eyes then back down at your lips. His right hand went to your jaw. Your breath hitched, Zoro could smell the wine from you. The faint buzzing in his belly had passed through his heart and to his brain, rendering him too weak to stop himself.

His lips smashed into your awaiting ones. You let out a sound of relief, too small to be considered a moan but too true to not mean anything.

Zoro pulled from the lip lock to lick his tongue along your bottom lip. Your lips parted quickly, taking his tongue and sucking harshly. Zoro groaned, dropping the glass in favor of gripping your hair. His right hand moved down towards your waist and grabbed onto your side.

Your left hand dug into the exposed skin of his chest while your right went to cradle the side of his face. Zoro tensed for a moment before your thumb started to move. Your thumb lightly traced the edges of his scar, barely feeling the tender skin surrounding his closed eye. His body released the tension in his muscles as Zoro relaxed into your body slightly more.

He had already given you all of him, your touch reminding him of his devotion to you. He never would’ve known that after every thing he went through with his loyalty to Luffy and his pursuit of greatest swordsman that he would have a bond like this with someone.

You broke the deepness of the kiss, panting into his mouth. You felt several chaste kisses being placed upon your lips before moving on. Zoro sighed, turning your chin up by tugging with the hand still in your hair to gain better access to your neck and jaw.

And just like Zoro, you had given your all to him. Zoro ran his nose along your pulse, feeling the beating underneath your skin. The vulnerability of your position, the bare trust you gave Zoro in times like this filled him with sweet bile.

He gave one deep suck to the skin above your pulse until he felt the hand in his own hair tighten. You let out a whine so low and so short lived Zoro barely caught it. The stimulation was bordering along the line of too sensitive for you at the moment.

Zoro stopped sucking, giving you one last lick before he rose from his spot against your body. He brought your forehead to his, “Let’s get this one.”

Zoro & Kuina Thought: The Greatest Swordsman

Kuina is such a tragic minor character to me and her relationship and impact on Zoro is a big part of it.

For one, you have Kuina’s philosophy that she developed at an extremely young age: ‘Women are biologically inferior to men.’ She fully believed no matter how strong she was, when she grew up her body would betray her and a man would best her in a duel. She had to have learned this in Shimotsuki Village in her father’s dojo as well, because this thought - in my mind - couldn’t have come to her organically. Potentially her father made some comments that she focused on and broke down in her mind? Idk.

Kuina’s death meant a couple things.

Zoro had never and will never beat her in a fight.

Her potential was not yet reached and her strength currently had she lived will never be known.

Kuina died without a single loss, ever.

Zoro having Kuina as his goal doesn’t exactly disappear since she died imo. It just means that she will never be beaten by him. No matter how strong Zoro gets, Kuina will always be a goal post ahead of him that he hasn’t reached yet because her strength was always above his but never fully known.

I think of it as a fixed distance between the two of them yk. I have Zoro 10 feet behind Kuina. No matter how many steps Zoro takes forwards, Kuina takes just as much. Therefore, the gap between them is always present and unchanging.

Imo, she’s always ahead of him because she never got the chance to improve and grow into an adult the way Zoro has. So if she did and grew at the same rate, she would still be better.

Through this mentality, once Zoro overcomes Mihawk (hopefully?) Zoro would be the greatest swordsman in One Piece. Right? But- Kuina would also be the greatest swordsman because she’s still ahead of him. In this way, Kuina will actually achieve her dream even though she’s been dead for quite some time now.

Messy Thoughts - Sanji’s Love of Rats

•• I’m fully convinced his favorite animal is a rat. Or mouse. And it’s because they’re everywhere in the world in the dark crevices taking the scraps that no one else wants. They’re just like him in a way, but so different.

Okay so ima explain my understanding of Zoro’s character and his possibility of being romantically involved with another person and then my thoughts on Zoro’s popular ships.

To me, Zoro is a physical representation of a protector, a predator, and loyalty (and death but that’s not fully realized). He prioritizes the safety of the people important to him, burdens himself to evolve into a stronger swordsman for the people close to him, and sees more value in actions rather than words.

He used to be someone that was living for himself, until Kuina. Then he was living for his shared promise to become the greatest swordsman, until Luffy. Until Thriller Bark, Sabaody, and his exile in Muggy Kingdom. Now he lives for his crew, to ensure Luffy’s dream and through Luffy achieving his dream Zoro will achieve his own (plus him actually having another duel with Mihawk). Yk what I’m saying? He still has a goal, but it has changed to encompass the Strawhats as a whole with a special bond towards Luffy.

There’s this tiktok editing account called ._avxmvx_ and they have such good edits that I feel like speak for Zoro’s character- just a side note hehe

Okay guys, me personally, I don’t see Zoro being interested in dating. It’s not anywhere near the top of his list in canon. Plus he’s sort of the newest addition to the characters that embody death in One Piece and he has that whole ‘walking Asura’s path’ thing going on.

Although I do like reading about/the dynamic of Zoro with a person that is either the representation of a higher being (ie, Luffy being the god Nika through his devil fruit yk smth like that) or of things associated with gods (example being person with relations/undertones of say wine, grapes, floral, earthy colors, with a personality summed up in a few words as indulgent, capricious, joyous, and fiendish because all of these things are alluded to the Greek god Dionysus.)

Zoro being paired with someone with religious and spiritual energy and ties is something I personally enjoy because Zoro is a character that is morally grey, has no belief in a higher being, has accepted damning himself for the sake of others, and actually has in canon relationships that have religious implications (guys Luffy and Zoro trust me bro)

I like dynamics like those paired with Zoro because I think it’s something that challenges his way of viewing the world when he’s surrounded by someone that encompasses a higher influence that’s not attainable by people but it’s not forcing him change yk??

Zoro is also a character with a stunted emotional understanding and capacity for empathy in my opinion.

I say this because of his parent’s death at an early age, a heavy training focused childhood, the death of his only close friend, and the isolation of his teenage years when he left Shimotsuki village up until he met Luffy.

This isn’t to say that he doesn’t feel emotion and can’t joke around (pre time skip funny Zoro come back to me pls) but overall I think it’s easier for Zoro to not engage with others on a highly emotional level and in emotional situations Zoro is most comfortable looking at things rationally as best he can without adding subjectiveness onto the situation (think Water 7, his opposition to Usopp rejoining the crew without properly apologizing and atoning.)

Zoro also actively tries to squash his feelings imo which is kinda sad. (Think how in drum island he tells himself to squash instincts and so now he’s not shown to be cold even in punk hazard and the beginning of egghead he was just toughening it out.)I think he does this because his mind associates the best swordsman with strength and not being influenced by your surrounding.

Which is why I think Mihawk is the reason for his stoicism post timeskip.

Now, this relates back to his ability to be with someone romantically because it probably wouldn’t be easy for him to. Especially not emotionally. It probably would be uncharted territory for him and if he wanted it his partner would have to work with him and teach him and build up his ability to understand others emotions and the ability to sympathize/empathize.

Now, gender wise, I actually can’t give you a clear answer on what I think Zoro’s preference would be. I feel like Zoro’s preference is more of a scale that looks at character traits and actions rather than identity and appearance.

In all honesty, I could see Zoro having an easier time becoming involved with a man rather than a woman. I don’t have much reasoning for it though, it’s just a feeling.

Perhaps his comfortability in his masculinity? Maybe because of how obviously dense he is when it comes to women? Maybe his past relationships of Saga and Kuina? Idk

So, in canon Zoro being in a relationship is a no go imo. (Edit: asexual man) Now let’s discuss my thoughts on Zoro’s popular ships.

I don’t ship Zoro with anyone, however I do appreciate the dynamics of some of his ships because I view them as something deeper than romance.

To me, a lot of Zoro’s ships are understood as a soulmate- you feel right in my life and I want to be around you type of way I’ll protect you no matter how bloody the future is- not a -I really like you I wanna kiss you and have sex with you and you can talk to me all about your feelings about the world- type of way

Not saying that the ladder can’t or isn’t presented in fandom media, it is just something that I don’t prioritize seeing in Zoro ships.

Zoro x Luffy: I appreciate Zoro x Luffy again in a more subservient dynamic.

(Omg I saw a post like a year ago saying smth about how Zoro is Luffy’s in a way none of the other strawhats are because he hasn’t ever betrayed or left the crew and out of the romance dawn crew he’s the only one that hasn’t done so ugh I wish I could find the creator I’d love to tag them)

I like exploration on how devoted Zoro is to Luffy and I do think that they have a bond that is deeper than just friends or captain and first mate.

But I wouldn’t call it romantic or sexual. It is natural, it is inherent and instinctual, it is almost religious imo

I also don’t think that Luffy is interested in dating.

Because of this, I do think that the ship works in certain ways. (u understand what I’m saying?)

Zoro x Sanji: I feel like this has potential as a ship but there’s things that need to happen before yk.

First, Sanji needs to acknowledge and heal through his trauma. Of his childhood, guilt, body, Germa, and especially his relationship/perspective of men, masculinity, and women.

I think Zoro could help him through it, if they ever talked about it. But I doubt they would. At least not explicitly. Maybe roundabout but something so minimal the implications could be lost easily on either of them.

But Zoro’s lack of emotional understanding is also called into play here. This is something that Sanji is very good at. He’s emotionally aware and attune to those around him. They are opposites in this way. But pairing them together isn’t good imo in a ship way. Yk?

I like the ship dynamic in how they complete each other in different ways. I read a post before about Zoro’s association with the number three and Sanji’s representation of the number three. Sanji’s humanity compared with Zoro’s brutalism or strength. They are strong in different ways. They are vital to the crew in different ways.

They work as a duo more than a ship to me though. I don’t see them romantic, I don’t see them sexual, but I do see them as sort of kindred flames or something of soulmates.

They belong in each other’s world and they do need each other but they won’t admit it. Yk?

Zoro x Robin: guys no.

I’m sorry but I just don’t support this ship at allllllll.

I do understand the evidence that Zorobin shippers bring up. They are alike, they do have a good dynamic, they respect each other, they are vital to the crew, but it’s just mid.

I feel like I don’t like it that much because regardless of Zoro’s loyalty to Robin as shown, Zoro doesn’t really interact with her fondly. Yk? Like I don’t remember seeing them just kinda chit chat for a second. There’s always something that is the catalyst for them to interact as far as I understand.

I also don’t think that Zoro is the best significant other for Robin. He isn’t what Robin would want nor need.

I say this due to his emotional intelligence, his aloof personality overall, and his dedication to training. I also say this because of Robin’s intellectualism, childhood experience, and personality. I feel like Franky is just so much better for her (sorry guys rip Frobin from my dead body.)

Zoro x Tashigi: I do not see this as a ship. I don’t like it particularly as a ship either.

I liked Tashigi and Zoro’s first dynamic when they first interacted with each other in Loguetown when Tashigi and Smoker were originally introduced.

The way that Tashigi was a female swordsman that looked just like Kuina, Zoro’s dead friend. The way that this made Zoro uncomfortable and he couldn’t handle it.

I loved it. I thought it was so interesting for Zoro’s character. I wish they kept it in post timeskip because it would’ve changed their behavior (or at least Zoro’s) towards each other in Punk Hazard.

I feel like this also ties into Zoro’s emotional capacity as well because he understands why he’s uncomfortable but he doesn’t try to change it- he only ever tries to run from her and increase their distance.

So, I don’t see nor support this as a ship, but I liked it a lot when Zoro was uncomfortable around Tashigi.

Zoro x Kuina: I do not view this as a ship either.

I think that Kuina was best as Zoro’s friend and the added complexity of romantic feelings at such a young age plus her death is just a lot. It’s a lot for Zoro.

I also don’t feel like it suits Zoro either. Loving her like that would better suit and origin story for Sanji ykwim?

Plus I like how Kuina was his goal and it intentionally wasn’t romantic. I liked the friendly deep connection between two swordsman.

I also don’t think that Kuina would have viewed Zoro like that even if she properly grew up.

Zoro x Hiyori: Hmmmmmmmm.

I kinda have mixed feelings about this one.

At first I didn’t like it. I didn’t understand why Hiyori liked Zoro and to be honest I still don’t.

The only reason I really see is because he wasn’t attracted to her and protected her physically. Plus he’s a strong swordsman like her father.

I actually really really like Hiyori’s character, but I feel like it might’ve been a mistake to add her feelings towards Zoro into Wano by Oda. But I do really like how she didn’t necessarily act on it. Sure, she had some damsel in distress moments and did flirt with him, but she kept her priorities straight and helped free Wano.

I really respect her for that. I wish that more female characters were done properly like her.

Zoro also clearly showed no interest towards her. The most he cared for in relation to her in my opinion was her father, Oden, her brother, Momonosuke, and the blade Enma.

Zoro also wouldn’t be willing to have feelings for her. She isn’t a part of the Strawhats and has no future with them. She isn’t hugely impactful towards the Strawhats as a whole. His loyalty wouldn’t ever be able to be in two places at once like it would be if he loved her yk??

I like Hiyori, I like Zoro, but I don’t like them together

So. The ship is okay I guess. I don’t ship it and I don’t support it however. I also don’t ever see it happening in canon. I also think Hiyori wouldn’t like Zoro if she really got to know him and would be better with a different person.

North Blue Boys; Sleeping Headcanons

Trafalgar Law -

Normally he sleeps pretty well, and Law is one of those people that understand the importance of getting a healthy amount of rest and sleep however he doesn’t always abide by those guidelines himself (he’s a terrible hypocrite about calling others out on it though)

Law was a deep sleeper turned light sleeper after the eradication of his country and his years with the Doflamingo family. Only during those three years he spent with Wolf, Shachi, Penguin, and Bepo did he begin sleeping deeper. With his current crew the deepness of his sleep depends on his mental state and how consistent his plan for revenge has been on his mind.

He doesn’t get nightmares randomly, at least not after a while has passed since the triggering incident. If they get brought up and he thinks about them during the day then he gets a nightmare.

Has vivid nightmares but only mellow, indistinct dreams

Wakes up really easily, especially when he’s sleeping in places that are foreign to him (The Thousand Sunny, Zou, the Doflamingo Family)

Sleeps on the more quiet side. Lightly snores if he’s extra tired or comfortable (when he was a kid Lami would always bring up the fact he snores).

Either sleeps like vampire in a coffin or sleeps like in a fetal position. He sleeps with about two blankets regularly but is also the type to like it cold when he sleeps (or, if he had a lover, be reliant on their body heat during the night)

Also sleeps in more guarded/unorthodox sleeping positions in foreign places (remember that one episode when he was sleeping with one leg over the other sitting down on a bench holding his sword on the Thousand Sunny before they fought the pet master guy? Cuz I do)

Has taken naps before on Bepo, they never talk about it. It just happens (Bepo loves it more than Law does)

He hasn’t admitted it to himself but Law is one of those people that sleep better with someone else. Also the reason why Law snores in his sleep every time he sleeps on Bepo (yk how sometimes ppl can never sleep in a room as another when spending the night? Laws like the opposite if that makes sense)

X ‘Diez’ Drake -

The most sleep he’s ever gotten consistently is probably 7 hours. When he was first taken in by the Marines, his body had a full adjusting and healing period and he was sleeping for at least 11 hours. During his time with his father’s crew he would struggle to get maybe even 6 hours of sleep.

He used to not really get dreams as a kid and late teenager, only nightmares but in his adult years he has lots of dreams. His dreams are usually comical and confusing to him when he tries to remember bits and pieces of it in the morning.

Still occasionally gets a nightmare but has developed a more quick and healthy way of calming down and going back to sleep. Used to panic terribly during his first few years with the Navy after getting a nightmare

It’s taken him a while, but now he sleeps like a passed out drunk ykwim? Like sometimes he’ll just be leg sprawled apart, mouth open with drool seeping out of the corner, hair covering his eyes.

He gets terrible bed head. Honestly sometimes his hair wakes up perfectly in his little slicked Mohawk or whatever he has going on and he never tells anyone he woke up like this instead of carefully prepping his hair

He went through a period where he was paranoid he was a sleep talker (he didn’t want to disclose anything when under cover)

Spoiler alert he actually is a sleep talker!! But instead of actually talking he makes little grunts and whistle sounds almost like an animal Lmaoo. Other than the noises he’s a quiet sleeper though

He gets his best sleep when he’s alone in a quiet setting with almost no stimulation happening. He likes it warm, with thick blankets atop of him securing him to the bed, with the blinds closed with no one else. He hated sleeping in the barracks as a new soldier, it wasn’t too different from how he used to be living and sleeping and that was sort of why he hated it

He used to hate the eerie sound of the waves against the ship but now they’re comforting

Black Leg Sanji -

Sanji on average gets 5 hours of sleep. He honestly can go off of less (germa genes) but he’s built an internal alarm clock from his time at the Baratie. He also has lots of duties that take him away from sleeping such as prepping the food too

He almost always goes to sleep after the ladies of the crew do, it makes him feel more assured of himself that they’re actively resting (firm believer that women need beauty sleep)

He sleeps terribly if we’re being totally honest here. He gets nightmares weekly about Germa and his starving on a rock experience with Zeff. He goes through cycles where it’ll get better for a couple weeks, something triggers him, and it’s terrible for a couple weeks if not months

When he gets nightmares he twitches alot, shifts on his sides, and starts crying. Sometimes he doesn’t wake up from his nightmares though (these nights whoever was on night watch duty always makes sure to check on Sanji the day after).

Chopper and Usopp are generally the only guys that wake Sanji if they notice this is happening while Brook, Zoro, and Franky hover over him for a minute to make sure he’s safe and watches over him the next day or so (Franky calls it a bro thing)

(Luffy never notices/is always asleep but somehow picks up on if Sanji is having a sensitive day or not)

With my whole heart and soul I think that if Sanji had someone to sleep with his nightmares would dramatically decrease and he would develop more healthier sleeping habits. Sanji responds to physical touch so if he had someone there to shush him and stroke his hair and cradle him when he gets like this I think he would benefit from it because not only would it help him feel safe it also makes him feel loved and Sanji’s a guy that needs love in his life

When he wakes himself up with a nightmare he almost always goes to the kitchen. He doesn’t like smoking in there normally but he will and start to prepare breakfast for the crew.

Sanji sleep talks a fair bit imo. I couldn’t tell you what he says though

Other than feeling another person with him, Sanji sleeps best in the warmth where he could still smell the salt of the sea

Basil Hawkins -

(Gotta be honest idrk know the guy too well)

I feel like he either sleeps like 10 hours a night or almost never sleeps. Or at least, his crew has never caught him sleeping

Doesn’t make noise when he sleeps. He’s probably capable of sleeping just about anywhere if he tries hard enough but he doesn’t

Hawkins loves staying up late into the night so I could see his prime sleeping time being from 4am - 9am ish.

I imagine that he either gets very vivid dreams because of his fate telling cards, practice of mystic arts or whatever, and devil fruit ability OR it’s just black fuzz the entire time

I feel like Hawkins would prefer to sleep in colder environments with his limbs more exposed to the cold air

Hmm what else. I could see him doing something with his hair to keep it up at night but not in an overly classy way, just something a step up from what a normal pirate would do yk
