Making this post about wades dyslexia so y'all can write it accurately because it's actually very funny.

Reading

He can read it's probably just that he doesn't like to and struggles most of the time.

To me it's not that reading is impossible, in fact sometimes it's really easy. The main issue is how things are written and how English in general is.

"They're there for their friend" is a real sentence and all those sound the exact same but are spelled differently. English has way too many words like this, also silent letters and inconsistent rules like "I before e except after c" which is not true for words like eight, freight, glacier, protein and so so many more.

Fonts can also make it harder to read, if a font has the d p b and q all look exactly the same just flipped around, and it's the same for most letters, words become new ones. "Cloth gowns only" becomes "Goth clowns only"

I want to see more of Wade reading a sign somewhat off or misunderstanding a note like this, like he orders food at a restaurant and is confused when the food is different than he expected because he misread elegant as eggplant or something.

Also if a paragraph on a page is too long, too many words, it feels more exhausting to read than if it was broken up more, this is why I break up my longer posts like this into two-three sentence paragraphs. It's easier for me to proofread it.

Spelling

This is the funniest one

So backwards letters do happen but NOT how one would expect. A backwards e would never happen. But a b d p or q (the problem letters) yea those get mixed up all the time. Writing pig instead of big, and stuff like that, n and m as well get mixes as you will see.

Dyslexic spelling is phonetic. Sometimes even simple words I'll forget how to spell. Gets worse when stressed or rushed too.

Had a English paper that was supposed to be about our homes and a friend kept it cause it was so funny to her. "...thir are three tivis im my house." yea even punctuation can get fucked up, cause an i has a dot I wrote i's instead of periods in t.v. I've spelled apple apel, bread bred, hat instead of hate, and so many more.

The way Wade would be spelling would be like this too. Forgetting silent letters, and spelling things exactly as they sound. He probably also would only use the one "there" for everything. tbh, I almost do, I usually go back and fix it though, but Wade wouldn't care, we know what he means lol.

So if you write Wade leaving a note for Logan, just sound out the words and spell them as they sound, and maybe flip the problem letters around. Example "I'm heading out for a big mission see you In a week peanut" could be "im heding out for a pig mishion see you in a week penut" a bit exaggerated but thats for comedic effect

Listening

Yes, this effects listening too.

Subtitles are a must if I'm watching anything on the TV, and I mishear shit in conversation all the time, including hearing my name called when it wasn't, in a room with a lot of chatter.

An example, is one time my sister was telling me about how she hates when a mattress is too soft and she sinks into it, somehow my brain heard something about squirting dicks? Idk exactly how it got mixed up that way but it did.

Sometimes it's just brain lag too, like I hear something, respond, then go "WAIT" cause I just processed what was ACTUALLY said and give the actual response.

Logan could be asking what Wade wants for dinner and Wade would respond with something completely unrelated, and then half a second later responds again with the real answer and saying what he thought he heard for a moment like "eew no why would he do that!?" ... "OH! Mac and cheese! Thought you were talking about Peter for a moment there"

Focus

Oh the dyslexic focus. It's weird.

It's not as simple as just being easily distracted constantly, nope, of something has a genuine hold of my attention, it's keeps it. Like I've played rock band and didn't notice people come home talk to me and walk in front of the screen, they were basically invisible.

If Wade was intently focused, say, cleaning a gun or something, he wouldn't even notice anything else, not even a naked Logan handing him pancakes, he'd subconsciously acknowledge but wouldn't even remember saying anything.

When not super focused in, anything eye-catching gets my attention first. I see a post, icon is first thing I look at, has colors and shapes, then the bold words, then the other words.

So when reading something that has some bold words, I cannot stop my brain from immediately going and reading from the bold words first before going back to the actual start of the page. This also applies to tasks.

I'll be drawing, and a friend sends me a fic, well that's more interesting than my drawing so goodbye I go read, then I get a message and I stop reading to reply, my dog wasn't to play so I put my phone down without even turning the screen off and start playing with the dogs. Whatever is more interesting will take my attention away from what I'm in the middle of doing if I'm not super focused on what I'm doing.

Memory

Now this might be a bit skewed for me, not sure exactly where the dyslexia ends and the brain damage begins, so if any other dyslexics see this and find something in here that doesn't sound right lmk.

Short term, memory is shit, I will forget things almost immediately. Long term, surprisingly good but also flawed. I'll remember shit from YEARS ago in great detail, but only once something triggers the memory, and even then some details can get mixed up.

I swear, we had a goldfish named Oscar, and then a beta named rainbow, but my sister claims the goldfish was named rainbow, and the beta was Oscar.

That being said Wade would probably try to argue that he had the orange side of the time ripper, and would forget things Logan asked him just seconds ago, also he'd be able to remember odd details like that shawarma place, even 100 years later he'd remember that shawarma.

Like, wades train of thought would go something like this

Logan asks why he calls him peanut, after explaining he thinks about peanuts, and peanut butter, ooohh peanut butter cookies, and chocolate, like tagalongs, fuck that scoutmaster! And then Wade is venting to Logan about that whole thing seemingly out of nowhere.

So yeah that's how Wade should be based on my personal experience being dyslexic.

sooo bucktommy won me over, i couldn't resist anymore 🙈 so here's a bit of them after their date lol (also, I didn't get the Tommy hype before but after seeing him everywhere for two days... I get it now 🥵)

"(...) We should do this again.” Tommy says, turning fully towards Buck, and Buck’s eyes immediately find his lips. He can’t wait to kiss him again, and this would be the time, at the end of the date, wouldn’t it?

“We should.” Buck nods, licks his lips, eyes darting up to Tommy’s eyes. He’s smiling softly, just looking at Buck. “I-” he starts, and then thinks, fuck it, and this time he makes a move, as he leans across the console to grab Tommy’s chin, like he did Buck’s in his kitchen, and bring him in for a kiss. Tommy immediately reciprocates, and Buck melts against him, and then when Tommy’s calloused hand covers his cheek, it just feels so- so different, in the best way possible. This kiss lasts longer than the first one, each of them constantly coming back for more, but it’s as gentle and tender as that one. Buck loves it, and can’t help smiling into it. He wants more. “Hey.” Buck says, finally pulling away, licks his spit-covered lips nervously. “Do you- do you maybe wanna come in for a beer?” he asks shyly, and at Tommy’s surprised expression and raised eyebrow he realizes it might sound like he’s inviting him for more than a beer, and he panics again. “I- I- I mean, just a beer. And maybe- maybe more of this.” he pecks Tommy’s lips again, not able to resist a smile. “But just a beer. I don’t think I’m- But who knows, maybe-” he stumbles over his words, because the truth is, he wants Tommy, he wants… he wants so much, he wants to experience so much for the first time – it’s just that he’s not sure if it’s not too quick for this relationship, and for him.

“Evan.” Tommy interrupts, bringing his other hand up, now cradling Buck’s face in both, thumbs moving soothingly along Buck’s cheeks. “Your pace, remember? No pressure, no rush.”

“You’re really cool, you know that?” Buck whispers.

“So I keep hearing.” Tommy chuckles, and it’s adorable. He kisses Buck again, and the butterflies in Buck’s stomach go crazy. Fuck, he doesn't remember the last time he felt this giddy and excited and just light. “I’d love to come in for a beer.”
