SPOILERS TBHK CHAPTER 125
I really like the random set ups in the manga for Mirai and what she is inspired from.
The clock keepers reminded us of Pinocchio before and now Cinderella, AidaIro took random vibes from European tales and I am all for it.
And Kako, being born from the grief and guilt of the clock maker, creating little things for the replacement of the niece is so cool too.
She had three mices as pets and Kako created three automatons for Mirai. Which ended up being one of the things he retrieves from Nene right away to give them back to Mirai. He is so gentle with her everytime he holds her too. She also gains a little crown showing how much this clock maker ended up loving her as his own daughter. And of course Akane who compared her before to a mouse because he has no respect.

I don't know what to think, but of the League who made it to the second half of the manga, Spinner is the only one who's family backstory/circumstances we never hear of.
Dabi is a Todoroki
Toga's parents rejected her
Twice's died
Compress has his family legacy
Shigaraki is a Shimura
Spinner is ??? Does he have siblings?? Parents? Grandparents? Anyone? No one? An orphan? We get nothing about him specifically, nothing that can't be related (or parallels drawn) with other characters.
And with the weakest quirk of the League, he's left alive? Like he's not even a threat to the heroes as himself? The complete lack of care that he's given in the story is...

anyone else inexplicably fucked up by the very existence of "its raining somewhere else" as a track?
#like yeah yeah sans is a joke character who actually has more depth to him we been known. but#idk something abt that track in particular just fucks me up every time#the mention of rain. how somber it is. that little melody toward the end#like its always been a track thats meant to tell us something. to make us question its meaning. but every time i listen to it it just.#hits me all over again.#its raining somewhere else. and what does that mean? what does that tell us?#the way its used in the secret room too. slowed down. it was always the version i preferred.#it seems so... melancholy and vulnerable#maybe thats what gets me. sans is a deep and mysterious character but one who doesnt show vulnerability#so to have this little moment via this track. where it feels like hes letting you in closer. idk. it always felt special#im. very normal. about. all of this.#obligatory dr chapters 3 and 4 mention. we already know its gonna rain. maybe that will tell us something new?#well finally be in that place. where it's raining. well be somewhere else.#i should sleep

pretty minor thing to think about, but i find it interesting how chapter 7 is the first chapter illustration to show chizuutan as chizuru (instead of chuutan)
like, i get it’s a flashback chapter, but we hardly got to see her as chizuru in the previous few chapters thus far… maybe we’ll get to see more of her as her true self after the hiyori fight/make up? only future chapters may tell, i guess…

#I LIKE Dostoyevsky. I like how mysterious and unreadable he is. What is his goal!!!! Why does he do what he does!!!!!!! He's very cool#I think knowing his ability now REALLY adds to his character. Him being so smart so manipulative so disruptive in the way he–#seemingly kills people on touch! Only added to this impression of him being “demon” and “inhuman”#But now that we know his ability you realize... That's all his doing; no ability.#His ability in a way does help humanize him by reaffirming that except for the moment he dies– he's got no superpower at all!!!#It's just him.#And yet at the same time also solves the exact opposite role of dehumanizing him because if it's not his ability that makes him like *that*#then he's even different than other ability users!!! Then‚ if not an ability user‚ if not a non ability user: what is //he//?#It's all SO compelling!!! Also makes for an extremely insightful narrative parallel with Dazai#Not an ability user not a non ability user. Not good not evil. (I feel like Dostoyevsky does exceed the definitions of good and evil as–#much as Dazai does. If he causes evil‚ yet does so with the intention of bringing salvation to humans– is he really *simply* evil?)#Both have these borderline superpowers that make them extraordinary beings (we can call it super intelligence‚ but it goes from controlling#their own heartbit to everything else) but are unrelated to their respective abilities! Once again making them neither this or that#I find Karma's words at the end to be extremely insightful.“Ace was evil for sure‚ but this man isn't even evil.#He's a being from the beyond. A being that exceeds human limits.” Like!!! That's all that there is to it!!!!!!#Back to this chapter / episode. There's some themes / worldvies once again I don't agree with but narrative wise I think it's extraordinary#I feel like after the Guild arc the writing really matured a lot and this is a kind of preview of what the doa arc is going to be like#(aka very very well written especially if compared to the previous arcs)#The plot twists of this episode are all so unpredictable and exciting!!! I think it's remarkably witty how it takes advantages of previous–#clichés - villains always revealing details about their own ability in a way that is quite baffling - to actually surprise the audience.#It's so effective. How skillfully unpredictable Dostoyevsky is to the point you can never guess what he will do next!!!#Him killing Karma is... Idk so so soooooooo interesting. I could talk about this forever but I'm being very dispersive in the rable and–#running out of tags. The whole episode you're sorta rooting for Dostoyevsky. He's very cool and comes out charming in the way he keeps–#surprising the audience. He looks bothered by Ace's disregard of other people's lives and that makes him sympathetic too.#But then he kills Karma out of nowhere and it's an “Ah! You fell for his lies too– remember he's nothing but evil. He cares just as little#about life as Ace does”. And then??? Karma in his last words is himself so generous in his words to Dostoyevsky. It's baffling.#And it almost feels like thenarrative is once again turning around and telling you you should root for Dostoyevsky.#It's endlessly fascinating.#I have more to say about the worldviews I don't share and the art style Dostoyevsky was portrayed with this episode (love it!!)#But alas ran out of tags

like I do feel bad to not be happy about something that a lot of people are happy about but almost every summer servant being lb6 AND the anniversary servant being a summer servant connected to lb6 is just. A lot. Like I’m glad that you like aesc and she works with her already existing narrative but putting a summer servant (bc she is, Morgan shows up in a swimsuit and her alignment changes to lawful summer in third ascension) uo as the anniversary servant is just. It feels really weird to me and i don’t like it. Even pan human history Morgan would’ve felt more suited to the slot than a summer unit.
#and there’s also the fact that like 4 of the other summer servanrs are probably lb6 + obe + the kotr it’s just#idk like yeah. if you love lb6 this is great but a summer servant? for anniversary?#all the other anniversary servants were either incredibly important to tm overall (arc) or story relevant#and idk maybe aesc will be again but it feels way more like they just wanted a Morgan alt and decided to have her there for a headliner#it’s just. idk most of the other years the summer servants weren’t all from one story#like they created new interactions and relationships#and this doesn’t seem like it will be doing that?#sigh. idk I feel like a lot of the people who are excited aren’t acknowledging that putting a summer unit on for the anniversary headliner#is just weird#this isn’t even getting into how they let her swimsuit be the anniversary servsnt but#the guy from the chapter who was just as popular as her still only has a costume#like make it more obvious that y’all won’t even make a male alt for easy $ will you#it’s obvious that is isn’t about the money anymore it has to be that they either don’t want to bc of personal stuff#or bc they don’t want to upset a specific genre of male otaku#and it’s annoying bc other games in the same category as fg0 will make make summer units like. come one#my post

#karma isn't THAT short. but god that would be a good bit#in the rewrite i might have to put that scene in karma's pov tbh. just so you can feel how much he's holding himself back#because y'all best believe the amount of restraint it took him to not kill russ immediately when he did that was fucking astronomical#i've already talked about how being underestimated & patronized bc of his size is one of his THINGS. so combine that with a LV spike#he did not see russ as his little brother in that moment he wanted him dead on the ground in the dirt fully unrecognizable#i was thinking of maybe having the swapfell fic switch between fluff & karma's pov for different scenes/chapters anyway#i think it would establish a lil better that karma is an Important Character for the overall story instead of just another side character#especially since pretty much every other sans that will ever show up IS a side character lol#idk if i'll switch according to a pattern like 1 fluff chapter -> 1 karma chapter etc or if i'd just go on vibes. does anyone care abt that#the few times i've attempted a pattern i lost interest in keeping it up immediately but that was w/ the lightbulb fic so. its been a minute#sometimes certain scenes are better from certain povs and the pattern fucks with that I CANT HELP IT#THATS WHY THE LAST 2 CHAPTERS OF SELF HATRED SWITCH TO RUSS POV IF THEY WERE STILL EDGE IT WOULD MESS IT UPPPP#well i mean i guess the final chapter could MAYBE work from edge's pov & show how confusing russ is to him a lil better#but i also think seeing how russ is actually thinking is better just for the audience's understanding of him. yaknow. idk#plus it Would be more jarring to have 4 chapters of edge 1 chapter of russ and then immediately back to edge again#i think it'd make russ's part feel more like a weird interruption or something rather than a natural switch to hide edge's intentions#oh my fucking god i just looked back at the actual post i got so off topic YOU GET THE IDEA GOODBYE#KARMA#RUSS#LOOKING AT THAT GROWN ASS MAN LIKE A BUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
