Bruce Wayne had a child that was somehow kidnapped right out of the hospital just hours after being born. He of them ever stopped looking despite how cold the trail had grown.

Years later there is some rouge attack and a civilian child was injured and taken to the hospital. Bruce does a DNA test on the blood found at the scene and concludes that the child is actually his long lost kid.

Dani was planning to sneak out of the hospital the moment the doctors stopped looking at her. Then Bruce Wayne of all people comes in and claims that she is his long lost child. She knows that this is very impossible because she is a clone, but Bruce won't listen to her and she really doesn't want to explain the clone thing to a "normal" stranger.

This does brings up a lot of questions about how Danny ended up living with the Fentons though.

yk when i think about it, especially when im watching the anime with people who havent read the manga, the reason a lot of people who only watch the anime and didnt read the manga misinterpreted saikis character so badly is definitely in part because of how damn fast paced the anime is 😭

like that little smile and eye shine frame is there for not even half a second in the anime, so its easier to miss it and assume that he really did only finish those workbooks to get coffee jelly ☠️ its much more clear if you get a good look at how he reacts here that hes just a silly little tsundere and a fucking liar

Kamen Rider Blade character name meanings

I was watching an anime lyric video on YouTube last night and recognized one of the kanji in the lyrics also being used for one of the main characters' names in Blade and ended up falling down a rabbit hole (aka Jisho.org) so I made a guide breaking down the Blade cast's names because 1. when do I ever not think about this show and 2. language stuff is fun to look into (also included Shiori and Kotaro because why not, slight spoilers incoming)

♠ Kazuma Kenzaki (剣崎一真)/Kamen Rider Blade ♠

Kenzaki (剣崎): ken (剣) - sword (spade itself also derives from the Spanish and Italian spada meaning 'sword'); zaki (崎) - small peninsula, promontory

Kazuma (一真): kazu (一) - one; ma (真) - true/truth, reality, genuineness (could refer to Kenzaki's genuine love for humanity and eventually Hajime); both characters together could mean "one truth" (could refer to Kenzaki seeking the one true way to allow Hajime to keep living without having the world be destroyed during the finale) or "one reality" (could refer to the current nature of the Battle Fight preventing Kenzaki and Hajime from seeing each other again despite them defying their fates)

Blade: the main part of a sword whose name is derived from the Old English blæd meaning 'leaf' (also hence why the spade is replaced with the leaf in German playing cards), related to the Suit of Swords (Spades) in the Minor Arcana

Tachibana (橘): mandarin orange (specifically the Citrus tachibana, also explains why one of his themed drinks from the Kamen Rider Diner was orange-flavored)

Yk it really bothers me when I see people talking about eurylochus and the crew like they were the problem. It just feels like everyone is just missing the point. Yes they stopped listening to ody, yes eurylochus opened the wind bag, but that's what makes them so human.

Picture this, you leave your home to fight in a war. It takes literal years for this war to be over. You've lost friends, you miss your family, you've been through hell. You're starving and your captain tells you they found food on this island.

And then the cyclops happens. More friends die, you barely escape with your life, and your captain gives his name to the creature that killed your friends.

And everything after that is a direct cause of that decision.

So you hesitate to trust him. Yes he's smart, he's capable, he always has a plan. But he would do anything to get home, and you know that. So when he comes back to the ship claiming to have a bag full of wind, and when he refuses to let anyone near, refuses to trust his own crew, you get suspicious.

Its been about a decade by this point, and your captain seems to get more and more desperate to get home. A god is after you. Odysseus is forcing himself to stay away, all to make sure nobody touches that bag.

Its human, it's realistic, it makes sense that someone would open the bag. Because odysseus stopped trusting you, and so you stop trusting him. So you open the bag.

I just find it frustrating that people look at the crew/eurylochus as bad guys because of this, as pawns for ody to get home and thats it. The point of the show is that ody has become a monster, has dealt with and left behind his humanity. We, as listeners, root for him. We give him grace because of his circumstances. Because he's the main character.

But for some reason, people don't give that same grace to the crew. They're human, their circumstances are awful too. They have no idea if they will get home, they aren't sure then can trust their captain anymore. They question things. They make mistakes. They cause the deaths of others. It's human, its that feeling you get when you think that maybe hope is lost after all, it's what this story is about. Mistakes and loss and blame.

People dislike Eurylochus because he opened the bag. But odysseus gave the cyclops his name. And polites trusted the lotus eaters. And Athena told odysseus to be cruel to a fault. Nobody here is innocent, not really. And none of them knew better either. They were working with what they had, with the terrible circumstances at hand. It's no wonder they made mistakes. It's no wonder people died.

Why are we ignoring the humanity of the crew? Why are we arguing that they, or that eurylochus, deserved it? If the story was about them, odysseus would be seen as the bad guy. But he's the main character, so the others are stupid and wrong, right? All that matters is that odysseus gets home, right? Even if it costs the lives of his crew. His crew who stopped trusting him when he stopped trusting them. His crew who he sacrificed to get home.

I think we're missing the point here. Odysseus did become a monster, and although we cheer for him getting home and Penelope and Telemachus forgive him, we have to acknowledge that he did do terrible things. Those men will never see their families again. Why are we erasing that humanity in them?

Humans do bad things for the sake of saving themselves or the ones they love. That includes Odysseus. That includes Eurylochus. That includes the crew. And that includes every other character in this musical.

It's late when you walk into the recording room, checking to see if anyone is still in the Archives. You can’t help it, it’s an old habit, one leftover from when things seemed slower, more quiet. When the only thing to worry about was deadlines or Jon’s ruffled feathers.

You’re a little surprised when you see a tall silhouette in the dark recording room, hands full of messily sorted files, so focused on reading that he doesn’t notice you enter. You can’t help but watch him for a moment, wondering if you should leave him be or if you should let yourself be known.

No, you couldn’t keep running from this, you think. You can almost feel him slipping through your fingers, your best friend, your once lover, twisted into an angry husk of what he had once been. If you didn’t make the first move here, he might push you out of arm’s length forever. 

So you call his name, softly, like you once did, with gentle fingers combing through his hair to wake him up. Tim tenses when he hears your voice.

“Oh, it’s you.” Tim says, sighing quietly. He runs a hand through his dark hair. It was longer than you had ever seen him grow it before. “Why are you still here?”

“I could ask you the same thing.” You answer, firmly. You step further into the recording room, the darkness making you feel a little uneasy. “You’re not one to stay late.”

Tim throws the files in his hands down on the desk. “Yeah, well, if I’m going to be stuck in this shithole forever, there’s no need to work overtime, is there?” He jokes, but it sounds hollow. “I was about to leave, anyways.”

You don’t know what to say, the silence that stretches between the both of you nearly unbearable. You change the subject, voice sounding a little raw. “How was Malaysia? I... You’re back sooner than expected.”

“Yeah, well it wasn’t by choice.” Tim lets out a short laugh. “After the first few days there I got sick... and I just couldn’t stop thinking about coming back.”

Perhaps a month ago you would’ve been more startled by his words. But now? You believe him. It doesn’t make the revelation any less frightening. You nod, letting out a shaky breath as you do. You try to compartmentalize his words, like you do with every other horror you’ve experienced here; boxed up in the recesses of your mind like a statement in the Archives.

"...Are you upset I didn’t go with you?" You ask, quietly, watching as he leans over the desk, head tilted down, hands flat on the desk. 

"Why would I be upset?" He answers, an edge to his voice. "You just would have gotten sick too."

"I know, but..." You pause, the words feeling sticky in your throat. You didn’t want to set him off. "We could have had a couple of moments to ourselves, right? Maybe a day or two where we could pretend things are normal."

Tim scoffs, bitter. "You sound like Martin." He says, pushing himself up and turning to look at you. He looks so very tired; so much older than he did just a few long months ago. "What's the point in pretending? It doesn’t change the reality of our shitty situation.”

You let out a sigh. "The point is that I miss you." You take a step closer, watching as he leans back on Jon's desk. Your pulse thrums harder in response to your admission, though Tim remains unreadable. "We could have... I don’t know, gone to the beach? Laid out in the sun... Or we could’ve gone out dancing, like we used to do.” You say, the words sounding a bit silly, even to you. 

Tim just tilts his head back, letting out a long-suffering sigh. There’s something like grief that passes through his dark eyes, but it’s gone after only a moment. You try to hang onto that; you didn’t want to push too hard at his wounds, but cuts would never heal without first being aired out. 

“I’m sorry I’m no fun for you anymore.” He says, bitterness dripping from his tone. “I don’t know how you can be so chipper, after everything.”

“Just because I don’t walk around acting miserable doesn’t mean I’m not!” You protest. If he wasn’t so dismissive of your feelings, maybe he would realize you were both stuck in the same miserable boat. “We’re both suffering, Tim, I just...” You shake your head. “I just thought it would be nice to have a few days of normalcy with you. I’m sorry I missed out on that.”

Tim is quiet for a moment before he speaks again. “I am too.” 

"Maybe... maybe I can't have a lifetime with you, or even two days but..." You say, quietly, the admission weighing heavy on your shoulders. "What about a few hours? A few hours of normalcy, doesn’t that sound nice?" 

The room goes quiet, and it's only then you realize that the tape recorder is still on, humming indifferently. You turn to turn the accursed thing off, but it’s then Tim closes the gap between you, thumb stroking longingly over your cheek; your skin sings at the gentle contact. Yes, you have missed this, you think. 

"A few hours..." Tim looks at you as if he is seeing a ghost. He sounds breathless when he responds, “Ah, why the hell not?”

Tim pushes you back gently against a row of filing cabinets, and you sigh as his lips find your neck; open-mouthed, hungry, like how a fire licks its way up a dry forest. You feel devoured just the same. His tongue finds yours and you lean into the kiss, balling your fists into his rumpled collared shirt.

You pull back, breathless and grinning for the first time in a long while. “Tim, the tape recorder’s still on.”

Tim groans, muttering a few curses under his breath before he shoves the thing off the desk, moving to take its place.

Whatever happened in the next few moments would be only for the two of you to know.

Oh boy this is...quite an ask. Especially bc fanfic recs are so personal? What I think is a good fic will be vastly different from other people. I have a really high angst tolerance, so please double check tags with these. Also keep in mind that I mainly read donnie-centric fics.

Proud to say I was here for this fic since chapter 1 bc that NEVER happens with me

Turning Purple by Lizardstuff | 48,123 [ON-GOING]

Donnie slowly gets more and more sick post rise movie and the rest of the characters must find out what’s wrong and find a cure. THIS ONE’S FOR YOU, MEDICAL NERDS. Author has done research and any inaccuracies have gone over this EMT’s head. I reread this one every chapter update and every time I’m haunted by “the blueberry french toast paragraph” No I will not explain further, go read it.

MY TOP FIC RECOMMENDATION

Spider's Web with Strings Attached by CurlySwirly | 125,661 [ON-GOING]

Donnie and Leo get kidnapped and are forced to fight in the battle nexus. This is my pick for the most well written fanfic and most in canon characterization with ALL the characters. You will HEAR the characters not just through the dialogue but also through the writing itself. As the reader, you will be beaten down and have your heart crushed mercilessly which makes the pay off the most rewarding, satisfying experience that I've personally ever felt with a fanfic. This fic lives in my head rent free and I think about it at least once a day. It is my all time favorite rise fic and I highly recommend it.
