MEEKS: something tells me meeks would be really into rollerblading or skating? idk i can really picture him as a skater boy, and i can see pittsie coming with him to try it out! meeks would be very chill about it, not trying to learn the coolest tricks or something, BUT he'd totally bring his skateboard everywhere and the poets would tease him about it like oh hey mr cool, do you skateboard? that's so cool i'm SWOONING, good that you brought it to the theatre in case there's a skateboarding emergency

PITTS: photography/videography. if he lived today, pittsie would totally be a youtuber, but i can see him always taking pictures or even "vlogging" in the canon era, too! he just enjoys capturing these memories, and at the end of every year, he'd do a sort of "best of this year" with the poets- i also see him as a big plant dad, not sure if he'd do it in the 60s though? but i can picture pittsie having several little succulents. oh and baking/cooking!! meeks always snacks on his stuff before it's ready and it drives pittsie insane

TODD: i know everyone's convinced todd would be into crocheting, but i honestly don't really see it? no hate whatsoever, i get where people get the idea but to be honest i think crocheting would make todd frustrated/anxious. this boy needs movement, something to do so his mind shuts up, and i think that's swimming. i honestly think todd would be a really dedicated swimmer, maybe to the point where it gets a bit unhealthy because he just throws himself into it to turn his thoughts off?

CHARLIE: yes this one is kinda obvious but charlie would totally pursue music if he had the time and means- he seems so passionate when he plays the saxophone, it's one of the few scenes where we get to see him not joking around, dismissing things with a quip and smirk, but earnestly enjoying something. charlie wouldn't only play, I totally picture him going to jazz clubs and loving to dance there and chat up girls. oh he'd also play video games as soon as they're available!

KNOX: i've mentioned this before but knox would 2000% learn how to play the guitar, and then proceed to play it at dps meetings and with chris. i know it sounds super douchy but honestly, i think knox wouldn't even notice that it comes off as annoying sometimes? he just really enjoys playing the guitar and wants to share that with others. also seems like someone who'd love running, i can see him being one of those people who go on 1 hour jogs in the morning :') Oh and drawing! But he'd be quite shy about it.

NEIL: this is so hard for some reason? 😭 i mean obviously he'd act, and probably go to the theatre quite often on top of that- i also think neil would like cycling, but other than that it's pretty difficult for me to think of what his hobbies would be- i kinda see him as just hanging out with friends a lot and going to parks etc. to chill when he's not at rehearsal. feel free to share your ideas if you have some!

CAMERON: dancing. he's SO ashamed of it and only does it in the comfort of his own room, but if cameron could do anything he wanted, i think he'd do ballet? S1E1 "In throes of increasing wonder" page 13, Louis only every directly says the words "increasing wonder" ("From then on I experienced only increasing wonder") about his first meeting with Lestat

S1E2 "...after the phantoms of your former self" page 81-82, said by Lestat ("You are in love with your mortal nature! You chase after the phantoms of your former self!") when they're having one of their many arguments about Louis' feelings about killing, right before they turn Claudia

S1E3 "Is my very nature that of a devil?" page 73, after Louis and Lestat are driven off of Louis' plantation & are rejected by a mortal woman Louis likes & thought would protect them

Claudia's Celebration of Life: Spark in the Dark - Hobbies

As the title suggests, this event is to celebrate the wonderful Claudia; her personality, her aspirations, her journey. The heart for the past two seasons of AMC Interview with The Vampire. This is to take the narrative back to her, proving she's not just a shingle roof for us. 1. Aug 11th & 12th: Hobbies

For the Hobbies prompt, my brain immediately went to book!Claudia, where we know she initially loved playing with porcelain dolls. The only time we see AMC!Claudia with a doll, however, it's a voodoo doll.

This short but sweet scene is a stark demonstration of power; of how vampires are removed from (and even above) the practices & beliefs of mortals. Claudia takes the magical weapon and treats it as nothing more than a child's toy to be cooed over, dismissing any threat the terrified NOLA locals have of the "Weird Brothers and their child bride" who haven't aged in 30+ years.

When Loustat Turned her, we get to see the bedroom they give her; a confectionery dream. But I laughed out loud when I noticed this:

That tiny AF rocking horse is LITERALLY for toddlers--a FIVE year old, like she was in the books. Claudia's waaaay too big to get anything out of that rocking horse--a Hobby Horse would've been a far better purchase! (Which just goes to show Loustat was so hyperfocused on having a child that they infantalized her from the offset.)

Otherwise, AMC!Claudia never expressed the slightest interest in toys--which might make sense at face value, but I doubt this had anything to do with her being aged up. (I played with dolls at 14--I still play with digital dolls in video games like The Sims.) Instead, I reckon it has more to do with AMC!Claudia growing up in what was clearly an abusive & neglectful home, where luxuries like toys were unavailable.

I got James & the Giant Peach / Harry Potter / Mathilda vibes. I bet toys weren't on the list of things her mean aunt & reluctant caretaker would've bothered wasting what little money they obviously had on Claudia's hobbies. Whatever Claudia would've done to amuse herself would've had to require her imagination; repurposed from things already around her, or found in nature. And we see that when Louis takes her fishing--Claudia takes obvious delight in catching fireflies.

Claudia also obviously loved to dance (like Louis) and sing (like Lestat); which we see in NOLA and ofc in Paris, when she falls immediately in love with the Theatre; and even seemed to have some fun with the Baby LouLou performance (until the novelty wore off).

She also clearly shared Loustat's love of cinema--again factoring into the Theatre's appeal.

IDK if Claudia enjoyed the lessons Les taught her, or if she just used them as a means to an end--especially since we don't see her playing piano or chess (or even driving) after NOLA. (It couldn't've been that with Les gone, Claudia had no one to play with, since pianos & chess can obvs be played solo). Were those pastimes soured/ruined cuz of their association with Les? Was she never really interested in them to start? Regardless, she was great at it, especially chess.

In this same convo, we see Claudia painting/drawing on a tiny easel. And we know she drew a lot in the books/film, too (inc. the nude bodies of her female victims, and everywhere she & Lou traveled).

So she's clearly artistic in other ways outside of performance. Too bad we didn't see Lou take her to the Louvre--she seemed to enjoy listening to him talk/brag about hanging out with Paris' artist circles.

Ofc, there's also her diaries. Claudia was obviously literate when Loustat met her (well b4 she ran away & hid on college campuses); and she leapt on the chance to keep a diary like a fish to water. Diaries were her constant companions, up until she met Madeleine, and finally had a kindred spirit to talk to; closer than Lou.

We don't know what Claudeleine would've talked about, but we see her interest in literature, especially fiction, and her indifference to philosophy, giving us an idea of the topics she'd've been interested in.

And ofc, Claudia was an exemplary predator, who felt "vampire pride," and loved to kill and drink blood.

hi! i saw ur posts about age ratings etc and i do have Thoughts - not meaning to come off rude or critical or anything just sharing a different perspective :)

firstly, i think anyone who watches dan and phil's content and enjoys it enough to purchase (fairly expensive) tickets and arrange to go see it is probably fully aware of the type of jokes they will make and able to make a decent judgement call on whether it is appropriate for them to see.

secondly, and this relates more to the UK and shows there, (i cannot speak on other countries - i don't have the lived experience) but teenagers have heard sex jokes. teenagers have been exposed to "inappropriate" content. i doubt that TIT will be particularly shocking to 15 to 17 year olds.

finally, i think unnecessary exclusion is dumb. i will be 17 when i go to my show, and i will also have been watching dan and phil for nine years. i know many people won't agree with this, and i am for sure biased, but i think denying the opportunity to see dip n pip live to people who have been fans for years over a few months of age is just kind of sad.

hi! no worries you aren’t being rude :) when I say I think it’s weird that it’s not age-restricted, i don’t mean like Only Adults Can Set Foot In This Venue™, more so I just think it’s weird that technically speaking this event is all-ages. the under-14 rule seems to be a kind of “default” rule at d&p’s tours as it was also in place for tatinof and ii, and I would imagine is mainly to do with safety, not the content of the show. also seeing as this is a d&p rule and not a venue rule, idk how it works with venues like knowing people’s ages/enforcing it (I was just under 14 when I went to tatinof but I was with my friend’s dad so 🤷🏻‍♀️). the show is all ages so as a venue I imagine they’re not gonna be strict about who is coming into the theatre with or without an adult. for context I am in the US, and here for R rated movies if you’re under 17 you have to have a parent or guardian with u (or at least buy the ticket for you). so personally in my mind, all ages equates to being more tame than an R rated movie. basically what I’m trying to say is the content warning means nothing in terms of who is able to see the show (also while tit and wad both have content warnings, two things I will say is that the tit content warning wasn’t obvious to find, and also it says “may contain xyz” whereas wad said “will contain xyz” idk anyway)

I say "attempted to change it" (about the origin of the harlequin portrayal) because S2 ep3 promo I've seen so far treats the introduction of Lestat playing that character as super cool and awesome and Armand seems to have swooned over him via Lestat's attitude in portrayal of this character. Which is unhinged because Armand of all people would likely know the racism inherent to the harlequin.

And also I think I've seen an interview, but don't quote me here because it could very well be fandom bs, where Sam(?) talked about the difference between Lelio and Harlequin and the only thing he expressed was the trickster nature of the Harlequin vs the lover's nature of Lelio or smth. Nothing to aknowledge Harlequin is blackface and maybe Lestat had those racist biases as a human/fresh vampire (very possible) or etc.

Which is why I'm so serious when I say I hope he comments on the situation, least AMC are utter fools and trying to pull an "It's not racist when WE do it because, um, reasons!!!"

Idk anything about this stuff so I went looking on youtube to see performances and general videos. This is *always* mentioned somehow when talking about the character and the mask, so it's not rly hidden info once u poke around the tiniest bit.

I will say tho that I don't think ur supposed to see Lestat in that role as being very positive tbh. We've basically been told that it's Armand switching the roles for him in the play in his version of events and he's supposed to look goofy. I always took it to be intentional for Armand to try and downplay his desire while still clearly being overtaken by it. The plays are book canon so I don't see anything outright problematic about how this is set up in terms of what it means for Armand and Lestat. It doesn't suddenly make them good or bad ppl by itself. There's limited characters to pick from in the play. They're old, popular plays with multiple influences and versions. Pretty much *everything* is also rooted in racism tbh, especially hundreds of years ago in France. I'm not trying to tell u how to feel, I'm just saying I'm not gonna get angry ahead of time with a show that's already mentioning racial history in every scene we see. Daniel's always ready to blurt out some racist shit to Armand as it is and show off his white, liberal knowledge about history so I can p easily see this being a setup for that.

Sorry the part about Lestat "maybe" having racist biases made me lol too bcuz....of course he did. He still has them through the entirety of S1! He's white and French from 17whatever. He thinks racism is an American problem. He'd be saying slurs all over the place if this show wanted to be authentic about it. We're getting the toned down version of what would rly be "book accurate" for those who want that lol.

So unpopular opinion.. I actually like Dear Evan Hansen. I actually relate a lot to the character of Evan and parts of the plot and I've never really seen that in a musical before. Sure, the music wasn't the greatest or anything, but that's why it's still important to me. I know people hate the plot point which is fair, but I don't really love Great Comet either so idk and I think it's appreciated because it's more weird and original at least musically I enjoy Bandstand and Anastasia more though which were also pretty basic by those standards and I think not even nominated. I have always thought that my idea of a musical would be a mix of Spring Awakening and Dear Evan Hansen that was somewhat based on my real life. And that personal stuff didn't even happen until Dear Evan Hansen already came out. But now I know most people would hate that cuz they didn't like Dear Evan Hansen which sucks so I just have mixed feelings cuz of a personal connection I guess. Maybe it shouldn't have won, but the topic was still important. Just trying to offer another perspective..it's not as if anyone who likes it doesn't appreciate real theater or anything.

i'm really glad that dear evan hansen resonates with you — i have a few friends for whom dear evan hansen is very dear to their heart for similar reasons; i have my own issues with the show (and have not been quiet about that in the many years that i have been on this website). i don't think liking dear evan hansen makes you any more or less of a theatre fan; that's not what i'm saying at all.

but just because a show can resonate with you, can be about an important matter (we can agree to disagree on how well it does that), does not mean that it is deserving to win a tony award. there is no tony award for show i feel most personally connected to. i have liked my fair share of shows (and actors) that were snubbed at the tonys and been bitter about it and i can also admit when shows were more deserving, or when shows that i love weren't as strong as other shows that season.

and obviously there are a lot of issues with the american theatre wing, and the entire system of the tony awards, but that's not the point i'm making here. just that i do not personally think dear evan hansen deserved to win the tony for as many things as it did.

When I was getting back out this one night when we got back to my place, I slid down while holding onto my brother a little, but it was dark outside so I couldn't see exactly where he'd put my wheelchair down. sometimes I think the kid as in Tom was not meant to be this famous. Like his moves are suspicious to me. I would not be surprised if Harry is his publicist. He doesn’t move like a celebrity should idk the complete disregard about the discourse around his name in the last few months has made me realize that he operates in a very short sighted arena. Like I will be honest I am so dumb founded by his lack of response to this whole thing. I mean, this play is just a play right? It is not meant to make or break anything for him. But now it’s breaking him. The very community that he is entering aka the theatre community ( esp black theater in south London) is not happy. I understand your frustration Anon, but I think you're catastrophizing things just a bit.

First of all, British theater will be JUST FINE, they LOVE Tom over there (do you forget he started off in British theater?? 🤔 He's not some nobody).

Second, the tickets for all play dates have already been sold OUT. They sold out in like 2 HOURS. People are gonna be sat for this play regardless of whatever "issues" are going on inside of the Twitter app.

Most ppl attending that play probably have no clue what was going on online anyway on Twitter. 🙄

The only people complaining about this casting were racist ppl who o more than likely didn't have a ticket to the show in the first place.

Third.... Sydney Sweeney is nowhere NEAR as famous as Tom is, so while she might be good at "PR", when you're SUPER famous (like Tom is) you do have to think extra hard about your actions (and non-actions).

Lastly, while it's frustrating.... You have to keep in mind that you're just a fan, and to know your place. You don't know everything, you don't see everything. We don't know what Fran might come out saying in the future. She might talk about how Tom and the rest of the cast was super supportive of her, and bought her cards and flowers, and helped her to feel welcomed.

When you make assumptions, you.... well, you know the rest lol 😆

I'm just saying, while it cad be frustrating, I think that as a fan, you have to realize that we don't know ALL the facts, we don't know what will happen in the future, and we don't need to hate on someone in retaliation.

Okay, now there's some stuff to unpack here. I like the brief little flashback to the theatre show that "Mother" partook in with Clervie and Peruere back when they were kids (and one member of the group was still with them) and how it clearly ties into the topic of the fic.

I liked how the angsty aspect was less "in your face" this time around. Like don't get me wrong, I still enjoy those previous... what is it now, 5 or 6? - parts, but the more subtle weaving of into this part at the end, just hit differently in the absolutely best way possible!

The twist of Arle somehow swapping the cards to intentionally sabotage Lyney's act was unexpected, and I'm definitely curious about why she might've done that. Though it definitely plays into the conflict of how the kiddos should be brought up.

"And you'd find it noble if it wasn't starting to unnerve you lately."

This phrase caught my eye. It sounds like you're setting the stage for doubt to enter the act. It sounds like "Mother" is growing "disillusioned" with the workings of their relationship. I had this thought that part of what drew them to each other (besides their intimately shared history in the House of the Heart pre-Crucabena slaying... and let's face it guaranteed survivor's guilt to some extent) was the super romanticized idea of "We're broken, but we can be together". But as time has gone on, and their differences and problems only become more pronounced, she starts to maybe realize that maybe being "broken together" isn't as great as a part of her wanted to believe.

Slightly off topic, but I remember seeing a post where they touched on Arlecchino being too stuck in her ways, and that she knows she can't break the cycle of generational trauma. That's why she's raising Lyney to inherit the "throne" of the House, which I would say she's done... decent-ish job. I mean he's still got his head screwed on pretty straight and he's approximately around the same age as Peruerre was when she killed Crucabena, if not slightly older. Now that I think about it, in the context of this fic, Lyney actually shares some personality traits with "Mother". Which idk if that was intentional or not, but that's another interesting angle to consider.

When writing it, I was especially focusing on the shifting dynamic between Arlecchino and Mother's different parenting philosophies through the cards. The Queen of Hearts represents Mother whilst the King of Hearts is Arlecchino. And in her switching the cards out last minute, she indirectly demonstrates a grand show of power and dominance even over her own wife's decision making (For example, Mother picking out cards. It is a simple act that shouldn't mean anything but yet still garners disapproval from the Knave.).

In other words, Arlecchino's resentment is catching up to her, and so is the distrust the more Mother fights against her law and rule over the house and children. She believes that the title of "Mother" isn't right and therefore chooses the title "Father" for herself. And perhaps a part of her regrets ever letting you take on that role, especially when you begin to unknowingly rebel against her.

And yes, Lyney being similar to Mother IS intentionally set that way (Never been happier for someone recognizing even the smallest details of my work-), as it's supposed to show Mother's grander importance and influence over all her children. She is their safety from their Father's cold wrath. But Arlecchino can only see the threat that lies within you when you begin to even take away her legacy (Lyney) from her, hence the act of humiliation against the boy as punishment.

Hey guys! Um.. I'm not frequently on this hashtag and just came here to adress that Melanie Martinez songs make a perfect playlist for Sun and Moon. It's been years since the release of Security Breach and still this day I never found anyone talking about that (believe me, I search everywhere from time to time in years (when my hyperfixation starts again lol)) and I'm starting to believe that if I don't say anything, no one will. So umm yeah I don't want to make a big post I just wanna point it out

If you're here in Tumblr and you're interacting with fandoms for a really long time you probably heard at least one of her songs before. Basically for those interested she makes songs with childish aesthetics and serious themes. Her most recent album is more fairycore though, but the first ones aren't.

She has an album called Cry Baby (it's about a disturbed childhood), an album called K-12 (it's about school), and an EP called After School (inspired by school themes but more inspired in the artist's life) and they fit Sun and Moon very well

Also I wanted to add that some of her best gems are unreleased, and like, there are some really good stuff that fit Sun and Moon, you just need to search for it

okay, so for some context, i'm a freshman in college and he's a sophomore. we're both in band and we were in a play together. i play trombone and he is a field commander (if you don't know what that is, it's basically a person who stands on a podium when we play and conducts, they also lead the band when we march)

-during a rehearsal for the play, we had some downtime and the director let people leave while she worked with some other people. i decided to stick around cause i didn't feel like wasting gas, but he went with one of his friends to go get food. i was sitting at the back of the theatre by myself on my phone, completely oblivious to my surroundings and he walks by and says hi. not a big deal. i felt bad cause he said it in passing and i didn't respond cause by the time i processed it he had already walked away

-i missed a rehearsal and the director wanted to review some blocking and he realized i was confused. im not friends with many people that were in the show and i get uncomfortable asking for help. he said "i got you" and he went over everything with me

-when band camp started, that's when my feelings really started to dig in. i wore sunglasses a lot so i would look at him without turning my head and frequently (especially when we were on the field going through sets) i'd see him looking in my direction. sometimes he had sunglasses on though so i can't tell for sure if he was looking at me

-to back up the last point, during the last game i put on sunglasses and looked at him almost the whole time while we were in the stands. he wasn't wearing his sunglasses because he was down below and the box blocked the sun, and i kept seeing him look at me and at one point we literally made eye contact for a solid 30 seconds (idk if he knew we were making eye contact or not)

-also we're both in orchestra and sometimes i'll glance at him and see him looking at me

-we were walking over to the field to get ready for halftime and he walked right next to me the whole time, but he didn't talk to me

-my section (low brass) has our own shirts, and our names our on the back. we were hanging out before getting ready for a game, and he walked up to my section leader who was wearing the shirt and started to trace our names with his finger. when he got to my name, he stopped and stroked my section leader's back

-during band camp and band rehearsals, we sometimes split off into sectionals (where you go and practice your songs with your section) and he almost always comes and hangs out with us when he's supposed to walk around and check on all of the sections

-one day in sectionals he had this thing he wanted the trombones to add in to our fight song (i don't remember what it was) and he asked to borrow someone's sheet music and i gave him mine. he flipped through my flip folder and complimented me for having all of my music in order. a bit later, he was struggling to find a video of what he wanted us to add and he apologized specifically to me, nobody else

-i was auditioning for the fall play and as i was walking out to wait for my next reading, he walked in and said good luck to me. just me. even though he was friends with the other people that were in my group.

i think it's worth mentioning that there's this one girl who plays clarinet and is a junior that he's close with but idk if they're dating or just friends. this is her first year in band and she said that she joined because of him. may or may not have stalked both of their instagrams to see if they were dating... didn't see any signs of it but that doesn't mean anything

Honorable mentions: I think Gremlins is starting to grow on me, especially the second movie because I love that the production team didn't take it all too seriously, I do like when some movies are self-aware how silly they actually are. Also shoutout to The Sadness. Am I ever going to watch that movie ever again? Probably not, it was a very disturbing movie. But this is not your usual zombie movie, if I can even call it a zombie movie, which surprised me? Like, it definitely does have those elements of the apocalyptic zombie genre but turned it completely over its head by making the infected actually aware of the things they're doing but not being able to stop it. Again, it is a disturbing movie, it's not for everybody. I personally don't see myself watching it twice. Plus, finding out that the director has said something like that he wanted to focus more on the "fun and the gore" other than anything else in a Q&A did sound quite sussy to me given the heavy topics and the ways the movie could be interpreted. Idk, as philology and literature major it just keeps getting confirmed to me that most, if not all works of art, no matter in what form, have something to say and they deeply reflect the time in which they were created, and there's always the subjectivity of the viewer who interprets it in their own way (like hell, even the superheroes in movies these days most likely take a whole lot of inspiration from Greek mythology, if you really think about it). Some people have mentioned that the director might have answered the way that he did as to not stir up controversy since it was at a festival, but I can't say for sure, I wasn't there to see the interview myself and this is already getting really long so I will stop now, you can make your own conclusions.

favorite series: Courage the cowardly dog, The Scooby-Doo franchise, Are You Afraid Of The Dark (I'm talking about the 90's series, I haven't watched the 2019 revival). Do I remember anything from them? Kind of, it's been a very long time since I've watched them. I kind of want to rewatch them because of it. But they sparked my interest in all things spooky when I was a kid so I feel like they deserve a place here. Some of my other favourites include: The Untamed, Serial Experiments Lain, Steins;Gate, Semantic Error, Another, My Roommate is a Detective, Wellington Paranormal, What We Do In The Shadows, Hellbound and Sweet Home (I do recommend reading the webtoons of those two, though), Death Parade, The Silent Sea, Color Rush, Squid Game, My Beautiful Man, Good Omens, Our Flag Means Death, Alice on Borderland, My Name, Yellowjackets, Theatre of Darkness: Yamishibai

last song: Ruler Of My Heart by BL8M & Rubyeye & Unknown (Till The End) by AKUGETSU (Alien Stage OSTs) (tw for blood and a bit of gory imagery in the MVs for anyone who wants to check them out). Also can I also just talk about the 1st Anniversary Remixes of those two songs too!!! (here and here, audio only). Just *cheff's kiss*, I love those songs so much, I want to eat them. The story all these animations is quite interesting, the animations themselves are very well done too. How can I describe it. The story kind of takes that deadly game trope (like, let's say in the Hunger Games and Alice in Borderland), but make it about people being forced to be in a singing competition against each other to survive and they are being judged by aliens. From what I know, I could be wrong, the main way of storytelling is through the MVs on the VIVINOS YT channel so it does require a bit to analyze (there is a bit of a additional info on the official website and on the wiki, I'm sure), so if any of that sound interest you, I would recommend checking it out

currently reading: So Long, And Thank for All The Fish from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books. I'm so happy of how much progress I've done on reading those books compiled in one huge book, I'm halfway through the series now. And honestly I want to read it for as long as I can because I really enjoy it, it's so fun, I love the absurd situation the main characters fall into while the big question of the meaning of life, the Universe and everything looms over them. This would definitely go in one of my top books I've read I'm sure.

And I also have to mention the webtoons that I'm reading because I love them very much too: Hand Jumper, The Blind Prince, Lore Olympus, Zombie X Slasher (I don't know in what kind of direction this one would go, but so far so good!), Everything is Fine, Flawed Almighty, Homesick (I love love LOVE this one! The art style and everything is great), Never Ending Darling (I know that it's gonna end in like 2 days officially once the last episode is available to read for free, but damn, what a ride this was. The concept of this webtoon is terrifying), Omniscient Reader, My S-Class Hunters, ZOMGAN (also quite an interesting and honestly refreshing way of making a story about zombies), Nocturne and The Guy Upstairs

And special highlight to: There Are No Demons. This webtoon? An absolute nightmare fuel. I find it very interesting that the artist Nemo Nullus makes 3D models first and then draws over them. I wasn't so sure how to feel like it when I first saw it, this was the first time I've seen anything like it on webtoon, but I quickly grew to like this art style, the kind of weird realism and uncanny valley really add to the stories. And the stories themselves are very scary because these are things that could actually happen, and have most likely happened in real life too, especially that first story with the stalker. This webtoon has made me feel things no other horror/thriller webtoon has made me feel, I feel like I want to crawl out of my own body when I'm reading it, really.

stratford on avon travelogue aka benny's really good super nice day (part 1 of 2)

IIIIIII decided to go to stratford on avon today bc i've been meaning to go for a while and I've got this week off (birthday tomorrowwwww) - cham was gonna come too but had a bit too much work so it was just me, and I was slightly apprehensive about that but i actually had an incredible day and I'm going to tell you all about it RIGHT NOW

I left the house at noonish, its a roughly 45min drive from worcester and the drive was actually really nice, all relatively fast b roads/country lanes. I didn't really have a plan for the day other than just walk around, maybe see some shakespeare shit, otherwise just see my little lizard brain took me, so I just set the sat nav for "stratford on avon" and set off. When i got to the town outskirts i immediately saw signs for anne hathaway's cottage so i was like "yeah aight" and turned off, went down some cute semi-rural residential streets and arrived in a nice green leafy neighbourhood with a nearly deserted car park (no bank holiday today in the uk, we have it next monday). I noticed the minimum stay was 3 hrs so i was like hmmmmm and then when i got to the cottage it turns out you can buy a ticket that gets you into all three shakespeare places (anne's cottage, his birthplace, his new place) so I was like hmmmmmmmmmmm *a plan is forming*.

I wandered round the orchard/outsidey bits (a little sculpture/statue trail of shakepeare-y stuff) and did a very speedrun-y tour of the cottage itself - I wasn't super invested or bothered about Learning I just felt like being a tourist and it was honestly super fun to just be like no thanks i don't want any information :) i'll just walk around :)

After maybe less than hour I emerged from ann hathaway's cottage and by that time the plan had cemented - I was going to go and see how many of shakespeare's three cribs I could see in a day. I didn't actually need to do this because the ticket is valid for a year but it felt like a fun little goal. I also noted there was a handy signposted route into the town centre so I opted to leave the car there and walk - I both did and didn't regret this decision later.

The walk into town was mostly along a long straight boring road but I did see a cool graveyard and a euphemistically named "SCULPTORS" workshop not far away. The walk in total was probably about 15-20 mins but it felt a bit longer, i eventually got bored and wandered off down a side road and finally got spat out of the sleepy residential streets just in front of Holy Trinity church:

(i didn't know that was what it was immediately, again fully did not plan or research anything beforehand, anyway it is apparently a Landmark so, great 👍)

From here it was a short walk along the river, and by that point i was falling slightly in love with the place already - the weather was just sunny enough, it wasn't too busy, people were boating on the river, there were swans and geese everywhere. After a few minutes I saw these and my original plan to visit some dead bloke's houses sort of got back burnered:

When I saw the boats for hire sign my little lizard brain immediately decided it wanted nothing more in the whole wide world than to go on a little boat on the river avon. I thought "yeah aight" and wondered off to find the actual hire point, these were just moored here and the wasn't anyone actually around to hire them out to me.

on the way i went past some big theatre place? i think it was something to with the dead bloke, idk i was thinking about boats.

a couple more minutes of boat focused wandering brought me to the boathouse (on the right^) which was deserted except for the staff who were all sitting on the veranda eating hula hoops. they seemed mildly surprised that i wanted to hire a boat, and explained that they only electric motorboats for hire that day. I had already seen the sign advertising the option between analogue and electric and i was like "yeah aight", so i paid the man and hopped aboard. I was given a brief how-to, and here i should maybe explain I have not been on any kind of boat in a very long time, my experience extends to heavily supervised rowing on a canal as a kid and one (1) time having a brief go at the wheel of a motorboat on a scottish loch when i was 13ish. None of this really swayed or discouraged me however, so consumed was i with the lizard brain instruction to Go on A Boat. I gamely took in the safety briefing which amounted to lever forward go faster, lever back go slower/reverse, turn to wheel to steer, dont fall in (I'll try not to, i responded cheerily, like a real adult), and I was on my way.

it took me a couple of minutes to get the hang of the steering, but its top speed wasn't too fast and it actually handled really nicely and responsively so the learning curve wasn't too steep, and pretty soon I was whirring happly along

On the return leg I was just working out how to correct after my big u turn (i only had the boat for 30 mins and was only allowed on a short section of the river) when i spotted something odd and brown on the near side of the riverbank and i was like, is that a fucking otter, and lads IT WAS AN OTTER

i look really unexcited here bc i'm trying operate a phone camera at the same time as controlling an unfamiliar vehicle, and trying not to plough said vehicle into said otter. the otter looks really unexcited here bc im just a twat in a boat and it sees those all the time.

The rest of my journey was uneventful but very pleasant, once i got the hang it was a very relaxing and centering activity and i will definitely be back. I brought the boat back right side up and with me still dry and in it, which the dudes at the boat hire seemed pretty happy about, and they were even happier when i showed them the video of the otter.

From here I sort of just wandered around a bit more? By now it was approaching 4 o'clock and S on A is apparently one of those towns where everything shuts down from like 4 to 5, so it was pretty quiet. I wandered up the high street, wandered into a hi fi store, gawked at some turntables, wandered into a weird little "vintage store", took a picture of a tuba, left, wandered around a bit more, and then walked past a japanese restaurant and stopped and was like hmmmmmmmm.

It wasn't opening until 5 but i now had a plan formed (completely forgotten about the dead guy's digs by now). sorry i havent been around in a while, things have gotten crazy, im sure you get it. my first day of being a sophmore (10th grader) starts tomorrow and while im not extremely nervous it is also 11:50 at night and i have to wake up at 6:15, ignore the specific time as it is never specific, its an estimate at best.

i have this thing called band camp that has been going on for the last couple of days. basically i play my trumpet (her name is Margaret) for 4 hours in preparation for football season (im in the band, we have to play at football games) idk where you are ofc, so to clarify, this is american football. the concussion sport.

i picked up tarot reading and it's super silly, i would recommend. its funny to think that the cards are supposed to have their own personality. id say that i dont see it, but they told me to shut up once, sassy ass cards...

i havent been hurting myself as much because of how busy i am + how cold it is. a thing about me is that i cannot ever cvt when its cold. maximum discomfort. 0/10 stars. not funky fresh.

my ex and i started talking less often and im kinda glad it happened, which might be mean to say, considering were friends still, but theres so much to do, to worry about that i can barely keep up with things.

I mean tbh I don't mind if I'm known as a weirdo furry theatre kid, but last yr my ex-bestie spread nasty rumours bout me, manipulate me and my friend group, and overall make everyone avoid me. At least my friends knew what she's all abt and stuck w me 4 the whole yr, but like... What if the rumours spread 2 the new kids and bad stuff happen?? So then I stayed up thinking bout that and at 2am I multiswiped 10 times and I named the cvt Jeffo :3 ( I haven't cvt in weeks cuz I didn't have many Band-Aids left )

omg thank you for saying the oppenheimer bit. it’s literally a marvel movie repackaged, which is very noticeable in some one-liners. wasn’t a fan of barbie at all, but there’s been a lot of dishonesty surrounding this whole situation as per usual

at this point i'm honestly thinking that people are just pretending to have liked and understood this movie because it was on a "serious" topic and they don't want to lose face and have convinced themselves only unintelligent people don't "get it".

it is jumbled, it is 3 movies crammed into 1 (which makes it way too long), it is incoherent in its message because of that. there are no interesting or unique filmmaking techniques nolan is using? and, before anyone mentions it, the explosion was just supremely mid. it was slightly interesting to see how everyone was protecting themselves while viewing it, but it ultimately felt flat because, as always, nolan is not good when it comes to creating an emotional core.

the movie prioritizes white male voices once again, the perspective of the actual victims of the bombings and the native americans whose land was used to design a weapon of mass destruction is sorely lacking, the female characters are laughable stereotypes! emily blunt is one of my favourite actresses, the role of kitty oppenheimer is absolute shit. what is she doing in the supporting actress bracket? ditto for florence pugh (ik she didn't get nominated but her role was equally infuriating)

and, sure, you could say that's not the film nolan set out to make, he wanted to tell the story of oppenheimer and just him. but... why? in this economy? in 2023? and we're fawning over that? he didn't even posit a thought-provoking thesis about the man! cillian murphy is one of my favourite actors but i felt completely underwhelmed watching him work with that script, which was ultimately unconducive to anything

not saying barbie is the be-all-and-end-all-of-cinema, but there's a very distinct whiff of debbie downers that just want to party poop whenever they see people having fun and enjoying something just for the sake of it. and, for a movie that's supposed be 101 feminism that everyone claims to know already, the fact that they chose to nominate the MALE lead and not the female lead or director................. sure, there is the argument to be made that best actress may have been stacked and there simply wasn't room for margot there (shoutout to lily gladstone for her historic nomination), but i'd be lying if i weren't pointing out the annoying tendency of audiences to overwhelmingly sympathize with the kens' plight in this movie. a ton of haters came out of the theatre thinking that greta gerwig is telling them feminism means that men are inferior and should be subjugated, while boohoohooing the poor kens. understanding the male perspective comes automatically, but when it comes to understanding the satire and parody elements, it's crickets! and, idk, acting like that's not the case for large swaths of the population is just disingenuous.

this chorus of "we know this already".... who's we? is the "we" you speak of in the room with us right now? there are so, so many viewers out there for whom just sidelining the male POV is groundbreaking, who go nuts at the slight "woke-ification" of media. and, again, i'm not saying we should be content with the bare minimum in cinema either, but i have to side-eye when this argument comes from the mouths of people who think the oppenheimer nominations are deserved

I studied linguistics and literature. I've been an astrologer, an editor, theatre teacher assistant. Now I'm a writer, researcher and translator. I speak fluently 3 languages - Portuguese, English and Spanish - and I know the basics of Korean. Still wanna learn Italian, french and arabic. I research how different social medias change out perception of the same image. My next project will probably be what's perceived as "aesthetics" on the internet.

I'm really into linguistics, philosophy and art's philosophy. I think it's insane how we're able to create meaning. I also never take anything seriously. Everything is at least a lil bit funny. I LOVE how we perceive absurdities as normalcies, I kinda collect insane stories because of this.

I love hearing new music. My favourite genres are brazilian popular music, bossa nova, light sambas, jazz, pop and hip hop. I guess I read a lot but I always say I don't know how to read cause I hate how reading is perceived as a virtue. I'm way more a poetry girlie than a prose girlie tho. I love watching comedies and I refuse to watch horror (I'm really scared of everything!!!). More of a series girlie than a movies girlie. But I find really hard connecting with animation. Only studio ghibli for me (pom poko is one of my favourite movies). I like stories about revolutionaries in love with two people at the same time but more in love with the revolution.

I draw and paint to relax. I have a series of alien snoopys in the forest that is really special to me. I love love love snoopy.

Physically, I'm 1m68cm (I don't get american measures), white, curly dark blonde hair, blue eyes, big boobs, big thighs, some belly. I'm 100% dopamine fashion and only wear sandals, even in the winter. I dance hip hop and dance hall. My favourite colours are orange and yellow.

My friends say I'm very charismatic and that I have a lot of friends/ know many people. They say it looks easy for me to make friends, but actually it's kinda hard. I have anxiety, adhd and insomnia and being around people is very energising and exhausting at the same time. It's hard to keep a balance. I'm patient until I loose it. And I have A LOT of strong and crazy opinions on random topics. My friends say I come of as super secure of myself, but I'm like 69% secure lol. I do love talking. And I really really really value my friendships. But the most important thing about me is that I'm always tired. But I'll smile and entertain you every time you come around
